You are Sergei Boystov, rogue mech pilot and owner of the experimental super mech RB-01 Cognis. After a daring raid on a Foskedal supply base you managed to steal one of their IFF transponders. Since then your life has been much easier as the transponder has allowed you to bluff your way through areas where the FAF presence would have been too heavy to avoid detection. As a result you've managed to cover a lot of ground on your journey south towards the Republic of Zanvra.

Unfortunately the constant movement meant that you simply couldn't work on finding a way to repair the Cognis's railgun. During down time you and Lev had been trying to read up on the technical specifications in the hope of figuring out a way to effect a quick repair, alas it was simply beyond the both of you.

For now you had abandoned the idea and focussed on bum rushing the Southern Border, once you reached Greunia where the Zanvrans held more influence it would be a lot easier to complete the journey.

The sensor chimed as new contacts were registered on the scope. You weren't too worried, probably more FAF units or civilian traffic, as long as you kept your distance they assumed you were on a mission of your own and left you alone. These contacts though seemed to be on an intercept course. You adjust your heading to move around them, seconds later they've also adjusted their headings and are once again bearing down on you. I actually haven't read up the entire quest. I just like making A.I.'s scream at each other and go crazy. It can be used as a plot device later on at your convenience. When you need the mech to shut down or have a hack battle. Basically two on-boarded A.I. one as a Captain and one as a political Officer. You can use it here and now or save it for later. I lurk around here pretty often and can add new dialogue as you need it.

You open up the throttle and run, pushing the Cognis to it's limits. Warning icons on your HUD indicated multiple severe armour breaches, you do not stop.

The Enemy starts losing ground on you and you press the lead, one by one they drop off the scope. Still you do not stop.

The scope has been clear for an hour and only now do you ease up on the throttle, your heart pounds and your breath comes in ragged gasps as if you had been the one running constantly. Behind you Sang speaks up.

"This is bad, we could have evaded the FAF but now that the Peace Keepers have our scent things are going to get much harder... there might be a way even the odds, but it will be risky."

"Well I'm certainly open to options."

"The Peace Keepers are almost certainly relying on the FAF to provide them with a base of operations while they carry out their hunt. Right now most of their forces will be dispersed, or redeployed to our last known position. I can use my contacts to discover the base's location. If we can deal enough damage to it we will force the Peace Keepers to temporarily back down while they re-organize their logistics, it may also put political pressure on them when the FAF inevitably starts grumbling about the damage to their property during a Peace Keeping mission."

You stare blankly at Sang

"That plan is crazy..."
