Platoon information: http://pastebin.com/7aSiJUep

You are Lieutenant Von Tracht, a 21 year old tank commander of the nation of Strosveld, recently assigned to the 3rd Panzer Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Sixth Company, Second Platoon. Second platoon now consists of scraps of 1st and 2nd platoon, and is made up of two fairly modern tanks, one of which has a broken turret, two light tanks, and a tank even lighter than those two.

You had not even been with your new company for a day when the neighboring country to the west of Strosveld, the Grossreich of Czeiss, launched an attack. Bomber raids destroyed much of your materiel, and the company was reduced to nearly half its former effectiveness from the damages and casualties.

Needless to say, things are a mess.

After a brief panic, you were able to scrounge up the remnants of several platoons and reform them into a functional whole, despite only one man officially having been under your command. The chain of command was reestablished, and you were given a mission with your new platoon.

On a Reconnaissance-In-Force mission, you and your platoon have set up an ambush position in a small, shaded copse. Roughly a dozen infantry, border guardsmen initially routed by the Grossreich offensive, share your position.

After spotting what was ostensibly an enemy scout, you find yourself quite close to an advancing platoon of Grossreich heavy tanks. They are not more than four hundred meters away, and although they are accompanied by infantry mounted on their hulls, they appear oblivious to your presence. You were able to camouflage your positions somewhat before the first Grossreich scout appeared, but with ever glance you see the enemy take, you wish that you had arranged the branch on your tank somewhat more naturally.

Similarly to the LT-24 from earlier, you recognize these tanks by virtue of their age. While not as venerable as the LT-24, the KT-29 is a familiar model, having appeared in Grossreich propaganda reels ever since its introduction almost three years ago.

The tanks are big blocky hunks of steel and weaponry. Huge in comparison to your own armor, but also quite slow. They don’t so much traverse the terrain in front of them so much as they crush it before them. Their main turret holds a 105mm howitzer cannon, likely able to heavily damage or destroy any of your tanks, while the hull contains a lighter gun, equivalent to a 37mm gun; still enough to engage your armor. A head on engagement with these tanks, with their superior arms and armor, would be tantamount to suicide. However, these tanks are turned to the side, and ignorant of your forces.

There are four of them; Grossreich heavy platoons tend to be lesser in number than average tank platoons, you recall; due to their relatively lumbering nature they are often directly accompanied by a light tank platoon to support them.

You call in your findings to the base, and are told by the company acting CO, the Captain’s adjutant, to engage if the situation is ideal, but to retreat as soon as possible. The armor sighted to the north of the base appears to be continuing further east, but turning north. Their reasons for not turning south, for the base, are unknown.

You consider your options. If you wait, you can probably ambush the KT-29s, and possibly destroy them. At this short range, aiming at the flank armor, even the relatively puny 25mm guns of the Pz. 28s can probably penetrate. However, if you choose to retreat, you could probably escape before the KT-29s are able to notice, and then find your range and fire upon you.

ACTION

-Engage
-Retreat
Explain procedure for either choice

>shoddy sketch due to not giving myself time
>>
>>42365551
Oh fuck, I don't think I can tactic gud

First off, are there any more tanks accompanying them? You said they are normally accompanied by a light tank platoon, so they may be hidden out of sight, wait a little until we can ascertain if there are any other tanks. If there are, we do a fighting retreat. If not, see below.

How fast is the turn radius of their turrets? If it's slow, try to have some of the faster tanks drive to their rear and hit them from behind, while our heavier tanks stay where they are and first strike them.
>>
>>42365551
>Engage
Have all tanks fire simultaneously, order extra light tank to flank to their rear with infantry accompaniment. Other tanks to continue firing from position. Disable enemy tanks, make sure to rake enemy infantry on on tanks with our infantry and non coaxial machine guns. The flanking force can ensure infantry defeat. From there if the enemy tanks aren't out of the fight have the flanking infantry close from the rear and do their business.
>>
>>42366799
Also be prepared to shift tanks to alternate position if they begin to receive fire (reverse from positions, traverse 30 some meters, go forward back to firing line.
>>
>>42365551
>Retreat
Move to a safe route, then fire at something noticeable before getting the fuck out of there
>>
>>42366939
Probably a good idea after the first salvo. If we can even just kill the tracks on the tanks a mobility kill should allow us to escape, assuming they still have some fight in them.
>>
Rolled 96 (1d100)

You watch the KT-29s, then look back to where the LT-24 retreated. There are no signs of it having come back, but you decide that it’s best to play it safe in the face of these rather poor odds. You share your plan with the rest of the tank commanders over the radio; if the enemy armor is knocked out within the first couple volleys, retreat before the enemy can return fire. It’s unlikely that you will knock out all of them, but if you can just immobilize a few it would help the company’s escape.

It isn’t the best angle, but if you wait for a better one, the enemy tank platoon will be too close to escape from without a pitched battle. Tank 615’s engine turns over, and the tank pivots to line up a shot. As soon as 615’s commander relays that the shot is ready, you give the command.
“Fire!”

As your tank fires, you see its shell coast over the top of the enemy column, obliterating a tree adjacent to the lead tank. A completely wasted surprise shot.

“Shit! The sights must be misaligned!” you hear your gunner curse.

As the loader frantically attempts to load another round, the rest of the platoon opens fire.

The 13mm machine gun on Tank 624 is unsuited to anti-armor operations, but it lays down a storm of tracers. The infantry hanging onto the enemy armor quickly drops off, either felled by machine gun fire or leaping to cover on the ground.

While your own shot was pathetic, two of the shots from the platoon hit home. The first tank you were shooting at receives a shot from Tank 621’s cannon on the far drive wheel. The tread crossing over it twists as the drive wheel spins uselessly, made into a crescent wreck by the shell, and the steel beast grinds to a halt, turning uncontrollably away.

A devastating crack rings out as the shot from the other Pz. 32, Tank 615, hits the second tank. A moment passes without any result, then the massive tank’s turret bursts apart. The doors of the turret fly open, gouting flame and smoke. The crew in the hull pile out of the tank, small fires catching in the dry autumn leaves of the treetops above. This sight is so awe inspiring that you did not notice Tank 625’s shell glances harmlessly off of the turret of the same tank.

The enemy troops are in disarray, but the turrets of the two last tanks in the column turn menacingly towards you. It appears that, despite your surprise attack, they were ready for some sort of opposition.

Roll 4d100. The two in this post…well, hope they roll high.

The loader cranks the breech shut. “AP ready!” he cries.

“Fire!”

The shot crashes through the now exposed rear armor of the first tank. Smoke pours from the rear, and while the enemy tank is far too large for that shot to have penetrated the crew compartment with certainty, the tank’s turret ceases rotating, the crew bailing out of the tank. It appears that they doubted their further chances.

The moment of triumph is quickly soured.
The third tank in the column finishes turning about, and the howitzer belches, quickly followed by the fourth’s shot.

One shot falls short, throwing up a wall of earth, but the other slams into Tank 615's turret.

Miraculously, the tank appears to survive; however, the turret is a hideously crumpled wreck; you radio the commander, and hear no response for a few terrifying seconds before the gunner reports that he is merely unconscious. The gun, however, is completely disabled.

The two shots from the 25mm cannon armed tanks fail to pierce vulnerable parts of the remaining enemy tanks. They are quickly turning about, their 37mm hull guns yearning for a chance at vengeance.

Decision time:

-Fight
-Nope nope nope nope nope

>So up front, gonna tell you guys, if you stick around you're getting another salvo of howitzer shells on top of the hull guns. If you run you just get the hull guns shot at you. The only reason 615 survived was because they got an amazing roll for their armor, which is not decided with dice rolls from here.
>in the future, I'd like to request that when rolling multiple dice, I'd like each person to do just one. If there isn't enough people to roll them, then feel free to roll with another post. If this sounds like a shit idea just tell me, it won't bug me. Still learning this rodeo.

I'm guessing they're slower than us, likely will have problems navigating the terrain, and that we can still continue firing (brief stops, no modern gyrostabilzation after all). Are the reverse gears comparable to the forward speed, or do we have to present our rear?

Time to leave. Our shitheap tanks wouldn't happen to have smoke dischargers equipped, would they? How about smoke shells for the 47? Maybe each TC is issued a smoke grenade to store up his ass?

I spent some time looking around for info on this and I couldn't find jack for comparable era tactics and equipment as far as small caliber smoke launchers went. We'll just say you don't. Tough luck.

Two for none is more than enough. You give the order to retreat. The infantry require no encouragement to start running. Besides some minor wounds from shrapnel from the hit on 615, they are largely unscathed. The hull guns on the KT-29s erupt. A metallic screech rends your ears as one of the shells scores a shallow hit on your tank’s turret. The other shell buries itself several feet in front of 615. It is clear that these tanks, with their frontal armor now towards you, have no interest in your small fry tanks.
However, they have missed their chance. Your tanks reverse out of the treeline, and once you are away from the treeline, the enemy fire ceases to be at all accurate. Blind fire occasionally scatters the ground across from you, but it ceases just as quickly as it starts, the enemy likely realizing the fruitlessness of it.
You radio in your success. You expect at least a small measure of praise, but the only response is a dull acknowledgement.
You encounter no more of the enemy during your retreat. If there is one, the accompanying light platoon to the heavy platoon you ambushed is not pursuing you.
The moment you return to the base, a sentry motions for you to continue down the road. You turn a wary eye to the fuel dial, which is not at an agreeable place but is not quite to the point where you would complain about it to the man. Apparently the retreat is so urgent that even necessary stops are not made. You hear from command that 1st platoon has already left towing whatever it can.

The regiment has been ordered back to Blumsburgh; the seat of the von Blum house, patrons of the 3rd Panzer Regiment. Most of the Strosvald military operated in a similar fashion; the commands of the central government came second to those of the patron noble families of the regiments. You remember more than one of your instructors in officer school lamenting upon how shockingly primitive the system was; notably, it was a system abolished by the Grossreich; one of Kaiser Adam Paulus’s first acts upon coming to power was to strip all of the nobles of their military influence, replacing them with commoners whom he elevated based on talent.

The long march naturally invites small talk among the crew.
“So,” the gunner turns to you. His face is gruff, and unshaven, shadowed with uneven black hairs to match the patchy fur on his scalp. “I’m sick of calling you just ‘Lieutenant’ or ‘Commander’. It doesn’t feel right to a country man like me, you know? So what’s your name?”

You see no reason not to oblige him. “I am Richter von Tracht.”

“You’re a blue blood?” the loader murmurs, idly flipping the breech handle back and forth, “Why would you join up here? Doesn’t your family have its own thing? You have a lotta money, see.”

“Er, no. The von Trachts have no household guard.” You respond, not knowing what they would feel about this.

Your family was a noble house, indeed, keyword being was. Now the extent of their possessions was a quiet manor and a few servants.

“No money huh.” The loader mumbles, looking back again. “Shoot.”

“So, Richter, “the gunner addresses you. He’s told you his name but it hadn’t quite stuck by now, “No cash for a rich boy, must suck, but your kind is all about arranged marriages, right? So how about it? Got a girlfriend?”

An awkward question. You are bethrothed, but you know basically nothing about your bride to be.

“As always,” you respond, “It’s complicated. Are you sure you want to hear it?”

The crew give you odd looks. “I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to know,” the gunner says, “besides, it can’t be more complicated than Hans’s situation.”

The radio operator and assistant driver, whose name is apparently Hans, shouts back, “Don’t listen to any of Stein’s shit, commander! Whatever he tells you, he’s lying!”

Stein, the gunner, gives you a sideways glance. “The less said the better. We grew up in the same town, never thought we’d see each other here.”

“I hoped to never see you again, you werewolf!”
Stein leans down, drawing a fist back to strike Hans, but you stop him.

“A-anyway,” you start back on the original question, “I’m going to be married to a complete stranger. Let’s leave it at that, as far as that subject goes.”

“Ha, well, better hope she isn’t ugly, yeah?” Stein laughs to himself.

“So, do you know anybody else in this tank?” you ask, gesturing to the loader.

“Nope. Hans and I are from 1st platoon…well, what used to be 1st platoon rather than whatever clusterfuck is going on right now. Loader’s loader and Driver’s driver. You were commander til a minute ago.”

“My name is-“

Hans interrupted the loader before he could say anything. “Captain wants to talk to you, Lieutenant. Says it’s important.”

You list the telephone to your ear. “Lieutenant von Tracht.”

“Lieutenant, this is Captain Strauss. There has been an announcement from headquarters.” The captain is speaking, not the adjutant. Apparently he’s gotten better from his wound.
“The announcement is as such. 6th Panzer Regiment vehicles, as well as 34th Infantry Regiment, are within the area. Both are to be considered hostile. That is all.”

“What?” you exclaim in disbelief. Both 6th Panzer and 34th Infantry were under the command of the Duchy. They would be the last to go rogue; they were second only to the Duke’s personal retinue in prestige. “Why?”

The captain does not bother to answer your question, and his feed cuts.

“What is it?” Stein asks.

Before you can consider answering him, the hum of aircraft engines sounds over the trees. You pop out of the hatch just in time for a flight of bombers to fly over. You duck back into the turret, but no bombs come out of the hatches of the planes. Instead, onto the vehicles that have swerved off of the road in a panic, float small leaflets. You snatch one out of the air and read it.

Its language was clean, and overly flowery. The signature at the bottom is of curly handwriting with intricate loops, spelling out the name of the Kaiser of the Grossreich. Each leaflet is an invitation to desert to the Kaiser.

1-2 hours between updates is really slow. If you increased your pace, we'd be able to get a lot more done. Other than that, the tank illustrations are really neat.

If the map was updated with each post, the visualization would be a bit easier. Didn't see the map posted at all this thread, but the grid and the basic details like the trees were a nice touch.

I do like the original tank designs, they're not straight up Panzers. It'll be interesting to see what kind of designs you'll show us in the future.

Coming up with a strategy also takes quite some time, but that's to be expected for a mostly write-in prompt.

Ok since a significant element of unfucking myself is sitting down for a bit to stuff my face, I think some info posts should be good since it seems some explanations in setting are needed.

Map will come later cause that's on my computer.

So let's get general geography and history out of the way.

Strosvald is the westernmost nation of a group of countries tentatively known as the Sosalian League, more for their geographical position than because of any notion of fellowship. These nations constantly bicker, squabble, and generally fall to pieces as each constituent state takes their ball and goes home.

Strosvald is the largest, and most well armed, member of the Sosalian league, by virtue of having combined with another relatively large state fifty years ago. For this reason, the other members often elect not to trifle with it.

The Grossreich of Czeiss, before obtaining its grand title, once had a similar composition. However, the first Kaiser, Friedrich von Paulus, united the noble houses over one hundred years ago, and nearly conquered the entire continent. He was stopped only at the borders of what would become the Federal Republic of Naukland, undefeated but overcome by logistics difficulties and political difficulties at home. Shortly afterwards, the Kaiser died, and the Grossreich shrank nearly as rapidly as it had expanded.

The Grossreich is still vast, but pales in comparison to what it once was. One of the worst blows dealt was only 20 years before the date of the Grossreich Invasion of Strosvald, when the Northern states broke away and formed their own Republic, known as Emre (with a fruity accent on the last syllable), taking with them not only the northern ports but also almost one fourth of the population and manufacturing capability.

One more map after this to detail the local situation around von Tracht, and we'll get back to storytime.

The region of "Sosalia" extends from the Fortress Mountains that bisect the continent, down to the sea.

The northern territories of the Grossreich are actually a relatively recent acquisition; only annexed in 1926, as one of the Kaiser's early power plays; the nations to the far west are pitiful collections of petty states, often not even dignified with a name on a map; such countries are child's play to intimidate with might such as the Grossreich's.

>>42375160
This is a mistake on my part. I keep referring to the ruler of the nation of the Duchy of Strosvald as "Duke" when really the title should be "Archduke". 6th Panzer and 34th Infantry are from the capital.

>>42382396
The Sosalian League, as a diplomatic entity, has an agreement to come to the assistance of one of the constituent states in the case a crisis happens that could cause the demise of all of the states.

It's never been invoked because the Sosalian nations are a bunch of pissants.

Emre is the most hostile power to the Grossreich but have no close diplomatic ties to Strosveld.

Naukland is comparable to Emre in power, if not stronger, and has direct diplomatic ties to the nation, being an arms supplier. However, they are relatively far away.

That said, Strosveld is a relatively large territory. While the front may be falling apart, keep in mind that Rome wasn't burned in a day.
>>
“Impossible!” Stein shouts, punching the side of the turret in punctuation.

The crew does not take the news very well. Save for the loader, who plainly remarks;
“The regimental seal of 6th Panzer is a mace, right?”

“Who cares!” the furious gunner continues his tirade, “My little brother and my uncle are in the 34th. They take the oath of service to the whole of Strosveld, they’re second only to the Household Guard in Capital Parades! They can’t be traitors…”

“We can clear this up once the company’s assembled at the Regimental HQ,” you interrupt. “According to command, they’re deployed on the northern side of the city anyhow. We shouldn’t see any of them until we get to the front.”

You radio the rest of the platoon and relay the message from command. “In any case, I don’t want to wait for the Grossreich to catch up to us before we get in contact with the regiment. Form up and move out!”

No more bombers come, dropping anything. In fact, a heartening sign is seen as a flight of what you recognize as Strosvald S-111s fly overhead; single engine monoplane fighters. However, if the news was true, the Airfield was in the northern part of the city; where the traitors were. You had not heard anything about the loyalty of the Air Force, but the local squadron is property of the von Blums, and therefore should be on your side.

Your platoon rolls into the new company headquarters, near a musty tavern in a tiny suburb outside of Blumburgh. Several of the towed tanks appear to have been stripped down for spare parts, their hulls open as mechanics pull pieces out of the engines and drives.

Tank 615 is quickly commandeered by a spare crew and driven away; the tools required to lift the destroyed turret off of the hull are not here, so it must be taken to the Regimental HQ.
As your platoon’s tanks are refueled and checked up on, you have an opportunity to speak with the Captain.

Ask where else they attacked
>>
“Captain.” You greet the captain with a salute. “2nd Platoon is present. One tank is disabled, but other than that, we have suffered no casualties.”

“Good, good.” The captain appears to be preoccupied with other thoughts. “At ease.”

“Permission to ask some questions, sir.”

The captain gives you permission. It appears that while he is willing to speak, some puzzle in his head is drawing most of his attention.

“Does Regimental Command have any orders?”

“We aren’t being given a break, if that’s what you’re asking,” the captain replies, “We’re going straight to the front. There’s heavy fighting around the von Blum villa. It seems the enemy is attempting to capture the manor, and the von Blums with it.”

You see. Apparently, the traitors are counting on forcing a surrender by capturing the leaders. “My other question is this. The Grossreich are close behind us. Our situation is hardly ideal. Shouldn’t we be retreating rather than attacking?”

“No.” the captain says quickly, “No, that won’t be a problem. For whatever reason, the Grossreich invaders are not pressing directly into the city. They are advancing to the north and south, going around Blumburgh. Maybe they want the traitors to capture the city for them.”

How do you know that, you want to ask. Surely victory would come about very quickly if the Grossreich simply pushed into the city and caught 3rd Regiment and the 45th infantry, who had formed up in the city proper, while they were still unprepared?

We need a Jagdpanther. Those things wrecked any allied tank they saw. Course I assume we're in early war so at most we have short barreled Pz IVs and Stugs. Now that I mention that, OP are the tanks we got comparable mostly to Pz IIIs? Or some mish mash machines?
>>
>>42384488
The reason we need a stug 3 is that its much more in our grasp than a jagdpanther, also it was pretty much the most effective german armored vehicle in the war

You consider holding your tongue, but your life, as well as the lives of your platoon, could be sacrificed for this city. You cannot continue in ignorance.

“How do you know that that’s what they’re doing?” you ask the Captain.

The captain stares into your eyes for a few seconds. You feel your blood freeze as his expression turns from troubled to eerily calm.

“I shouldn’t have hoped that you’d be a dumb soldier, doing whatever you’re told without question.” He sits up, stretching his shoulders, “You’re a smart man, I hope, Lieutenant. You think I want this? I can’t say I do. Our loyalty isn’t to the Archduke though. It’s to the von Blums.”

You blink. If the von Blums turned against the Duchy, that would mean…

“So the traitors…I mean, the Archduke’s men are trying to capture the von Blums.”

“Precisely,” the captain stabs his cigarette at the air. “The von Blums are already in control of the city. Tough luck for 6th Panzer and the 34th, but they’ve been encircled in the open. Their only hope is to take out the Blums.” He takes a long drag on his cigarette and exhales slowly. “You know what you have to do. 1st Platoon will secure the route. Take your tanks and link up with 4th Company; they’re already at the villa. You’ll be with a counterattack to cut off the assault on the villa. Get going.”

You return to your platoon. All of the tanks are refueled, spare parts have been slotted in place of worn out ones, and a replacement for 615 has been kicked back into functioning; a welcome replacement Pz. 32. The identification numbers have also been, quite thankfully, repainted. Your lead tank is once again 621, and the former 621 is now 623.

You climb into the hull and prepare to send a message to your platoon.

>follow orders. Head out to the villa
>fuck this. You don’t know exactly where you’ll go, but you’re leaving

the von Blums are the patrons of the regiment. Officially, they own you and your equipment. They're with the Reich.

The von Tracht house is insignificant. They're noble in name only, and have no actual power. Richter is an only child, and the house's activity consists of sucking up to everybody else.

Off to Switzerland then. Course getting there is a quest of its own.
>>
“2nd Platoon,” you speak slowly over the net, “earlier today we were fighting the Grossreich. According to company command…they’re now our allies.”

You are met with an explosion of consternation. You hear protests from within your own tank, but the platoon takes priority to your personal matters.

“I’m no filthy traitor!”

“What the fuck did we fight for then!?”

“We’ll just be enslaved!”

“When did this happen?”

“The von Blums have decided to side with the Kaiser,” you explain, “and according to company command, the regiment follows the von Blums.”

“Fuck them!” you hear the tank commander of 622 say. “I signed up to defend my country, not to be some rich asshole’s spare meat!”

Many of the crews are composites from various platoons. Nearly all of them had friends and comrades killed or terribly wounded during the air raid at the start of this war. This is brought up frequently as you attempt to restore order over the net.

“Calm down!” you shout, “I know! Just shut up for a second and listen. Just tell me what you think of this. Don’t act rashly.”

All of the commanders, and some of the crews as they fight for the radio, state their strong objections, many in rather crude language. A large part of their desire to fight, it appears, is vengeance.

But what could one company do?

>write in- plans and proposals. Be aware that just turning your guns on your superiors is suicidal and retarded. An important thing to address is the orders to link up with 4th company and joining the counterattack against the loyalists.

Is there a way to contact the loyalists without the traitors noticing?
>>

Pretend we're aiding Grossreich. Link up with loyalists and double cross the Reich forces at the villa hopefully saving our comrades. Or we could go full reich if we want, but that would mean lots of mutiny.

Can't think of anything better so I'm supporting this.

WOLVERINES

Fuck if I know what to do though, a sole write-in at an important decision like this is pretty daunting

Our orders are to head off the attack by the loyalists on the von Blum villa, right? Follow orders up until we reach the villa, then try to capture the von Blums ourselves, or just help with the loyalists. Also, we have to give a rousing speech.
>>
>>42385377
I would say we follow the traitors and when we get the chance we fuck of as fast as possible.

“Alright,” you say after the everybody has had their piece, “I have a plan, but you’ll all need to trust me.”

You don’t have a plan, yet, but you do need to play the game up to the point you do. Your men can at least remain motivated by a light at the end of the tunnel, even if the light is around the corner and through several miles of darkness.

“We’ve been ordered to join a counterattack at the villa, joining up with 4th company. We’ll be going around from there, and making a penetration that will cut off the assault of the 6th regiment and 34th regiment on the villa. Do exactly as I order, is this clear?”

Some murmured affirmatives are made in response. You feel less deflated; these men have little idea of what to do, and will quickly latch onto whoever does appear to have an idea. So as far as they know you know exactly what you are doing.

While the truth of it is more that you’re figuring it out on the way there.

You think of ways you could possibly contact the loyalists. Their radio frequencies are unknown to you, as is their current organization. You could ask Stein what unit his relatives belong to in the 34th Infantry, but without knowledge of who is where, that plan is not much to go with.

The best option appears to be following orders until an opportunity to break away appears. You are thinking of the best occasions to do this when you here a woman’s shout.

“Stop! Stop right there! In uh, by, uh, the house of von Blum I order you to stop!”

The tank screeches to a halt, not by command of the young woman but because she was obstructing the path.

>in the future remind me not to waste time on sketches of scenes

The other tanks in the column open, their commanders peering out to see what the problem is.
The young lady before you is frantically waving a golden pendant with a carved jade seal upon it. She is small and slight, even from your position above her. She is obviously of some noble house; her blue dress is inlaid with silver patterns, the clasps bearing tiny insignias upon them that would require a master silversmith to fashion. She has clearly been running, as she appears disheveled and her clothing is powdered with grey dust.

“What is your bidding, my lady?” you address her. She is clearly a von Blum, and you are, even if you are only saying you are, in service to that family. You hear your crew mocking your formal speech beneath you.

“Let me in your tank.” She says simply.

“Impossible,” you respond immediately, “we are heading to the villa. It’s too dangerous.”

“Not any more you aren’t,” she says haughtily. She begins to climb aboard; your consent appears to be unnecessary. She accidentally kicks aside the 13mm gun in the hull, and you hear a grunt as the interior portion swings about and clubs the hull gunner.

“You have to help me!” she hisses in your ear as she scrambles up to the turret, “My father’s gone insane! Besides betraying the Archduke, do you know what the Kaiser did to the noble families of his own country?”

You already happen to know. Being of a somewhat noble family yourself, it was impossible not to hear of the Kaiser’s divestment of the more powerful noble houses in the Grossreich. There were more than a few familes more destitute than your own (for nobles, that is) that came into Strosveld seeking assistance from distant relatives.
>>
3/3
“Exactly! Now, I don’t care what your commander or whatever told you to do,” she says, still waving the pendant, “I’m above him. Take me to Delsau. It’s across the northern border, next to the Grossreich. You can do that, can’t you?”

“Who’s this supposed to be?” your loader pops out of his hatch before you can ask why she would go there.

“I am Lady Maddalyn von Blum, and I am commanding you to let me in your tank!”

“Uh, Lieutenant,” the loader glances at you, “Aren’t we, uh, well, you know…”

You have to think about this. This could be an opportunity or a tremendous pain in the ass.

But will you let her in your tank?

>Explain for either.
>No.
>Yes.
>>
>>42386515
>Yes.
We're not ones to refuse a noblewomen's request, are we?
>>
“Come now…er, loader, we can’t refuse a noblewoman’s request, can we?”

Your loader grimaces. “My name is-“

“Yes, you can’t,” Maddalyn is looking about feverishly. “So, well, where do I get in?”

A Panzer m/32 is already relatively tight with five people in it. To add a sixth is not a great challenge when you are allowed to cram them wherever one likes, but you feel that that effort would go unappreciated by your guest.

“Loader,” you address your loader, telling yourself you’ll ask him his name at some point, “make room. You can watch behind us.” You hand him the submachine gun.

The tank is equipped with two rifle carbines as well as a submachinegun, in case the crew needs to leave the tank. There are also four grenades, to be used sparingly in case of operating without infantry support. A demolition charge is also included in case the tank needs to be scuttled, although its presence is far less welcome than the other weaponry.

As Maddalyn lowers herself into his position, the hull gunner, Hans, hoots. “What a view!” His comment is rewarded with a savage blow to the face from the driver. A scuffle begins to erupt, requiring the intervention of your own boot. Maddalyn seems furious.

“I did not have high expectations, but I am already disappointed.”

If it were anybody else you would make a point to defend your crew’s ability. However you can only respond with solemn silence.

Stein, the gunner, taps you on the arm. “Pst. Hey.”

You nod, coming closer to listen to him. “I’ve got an idea. I mean, a vacation in Delsau might be the lady’s wish, but our boys are trying to capture her sort. Maybe we could arrange something when we get over to our rendezvous point.”

>a convenient hostage. Continue going to the rendezvous point to 4th company
