Cael'la blew Nivah and you both flirtatious kisses before sauntering to the arena, confidence exuding from her every pore. She and Kerrick faced each other and the moment the words 'begin' formed on the announcer's lips Kerrick charged Cael'la with a speed that surprised you. It was clear his intention was to make his first strike the last, everyone knew Cael'la's prowess rivaled your own and it was clear this was how Kerrick meant to win. His dogged pursuit left her little time to plan or counter attack and even from the distance you could see the creases in her face from concentration.

Strike after strike hammered against Cael'la's blade and for a fraction of a moment you worried until you saw her eyes. They watched him without hesitation and in that moment her victory was inevitable. He made a mistake, just one, in his footing but it was all Cael'la needed. Quick as she could she lashed out at his calf and spurt of blood revealed the strike to have been true. The crowd roared and Karrick was left limping away as Cael'la gave you a coy wave.

You could see the nervousness in Nivah's face as her name was called, but with a shared look between the two of you her resolve hardened, the fire within her ignited, and her hands stopped shaking. She approached the arena calm as she could, meeting Paldamar with a serious look. Based on how he had approached the arena it was clear he thought this would be an easy win, however after meeting her gaze you saw a crack in his confidence and you couldn't help but smile.

'Give him hell.'

You think to yourself.

Nivah stands firm and circles Paldamar, waiting for him as you told her so very long ago when you first met. After a moments calm Paldamar rushes her and with grace she side steps him, causing him to stumble. In that moment she strikes and their blades meet is a clash of humming electricity. Unfortunately his strength is beyond her and she is pushed back. Once more he rushes and one more she steps aside. Paldamar lashes our in preparation for a strike that never comes and throws himself off balance. Once again Nivah is prepared and using her advanced abilities with the Force to blast her opponents feet out from under him and he falls with a thud. Nivah rushes him as he is down and gently rests her blade against his neck. The match is called and once more the crowd explodes into applause.

Nivah comes to you after the match, bouncing with joy at her win and you pat her head congratulating her. However the time has come for your next match.

Once more you feel the gaze of hundreds, if not thousands of people upon you. Even before your name is announced you know, as do they, that yours is the next match. After your last performance you know they will have their expectations of you. Nivah scurries off after a few words of well wishing and you take a moment to center yourself.

The crowd feeds off the announcers energy and in a way you do as well. You make your way to the arena once more.

With a roar of energy you jump high in the air fast enough to avoid the thundering rush of kinetic energy that would have shoved you away. Once more medical personnel rush to tend the losers wounds and once more the cheers of the crowd wash over you like the tide.

The next fight will be between Cira and Rodrik, and this is potentially the first fight of the tournament in which two powerful contenders are well matched against one another. They read each other carefully, like novels, with great care and patience. Blades clash time and again, but in the end Rodrik's speed outdoes Cira's ability to ready him and she surrenders with a blade pressed against her neck.

Adan and Cael'la's fight is surprisingly easier then her first, as Adan's reliance on the force is reminiscent with Nivah's fighting style that she has trained so many times against. The fight is short and sweet as Cael'la brings the boy to his knees.

Lastly Nivah is forced to fight Atelia, one of the few students Master Jorrak considered a threat to you. Considering all of this you find yourself worrying. Nivah's abilities have grown considerably, however you've had few means to compare her skill with others aside from yourself and Cael'la. The two enter the arena and regard one another carefully. Based on your understanding of their two fighting styles both are heavily defensive, with Nivah relying primarily on the Force while Atelia uses parries and swordplay to batter her opponents. Seeing the two styles meet will be interesting.

The regard each other stoically before the voice of the announcer roars into life.

"BEGIN!"

The two circle each other slowly and for nearly a minute not another motion is made. The arena is dead silent with anticipation as the tension between them builds. At last the silence is broken by Atelia.

"You know they say things. About you and that demon slave. They say he's got you playing into his hands like putty. What do you think will happen when it comes time for a Master to select him? Do you think he'll whisk you away with him? No sweerheart, he's going to leave you, cold, weak and alone. Who knows maybe some powerful Sith lady will sweep him up and make him hers. Poor little Nivah, left alone for bigger and better things."

She coos with a smug snarl, goading Nivah into making the first move.

Nivah tenses, her face flashes through a variety of intense emotions, for a moment you see despair. Had she feared this all along? Was thing why she clung to you? Was she cherishing what she could before you left her. She looks out to you in the crowd and your gazes meet.

While Nivah is distracted Atelia takes the opportunity to rush her, thinking she would strike in time to end the fight. She is wrong. Nivah turns to her, she smile on her face warping into a hateful snarl and she raises her hand. Lighting arcs out of Nivah's finger tips and pours into Atelia, her body seizes and begins shaking violently as the negative energy overwhelms her. It takes several moments for her lips to part, and she screams in pure agony. The noise is primal, almost animal as her bodies muscles spasm uncontrollably. Several long moments pass before Nivah releases the hellish blast of electricity and Atelia falls limp to the ground having passed out from the shock.

Nivah walks over to her and kneels beside her. She says something very softly, the microphone barely able to pick it up.

"The next ill words you speak of him are your last."

Her voice is cold.

At last she stands and walks away, her eyes meeting yours and the gentle smile returning to her face. She meets you shortly.

"How did I do?"

She asks with a small smile.

Nivah's face turns a harsh shade of red and she burries her face into your chest.

She seems overwhelmed and you allow her to calm down buried in your chest for the moment. When at last she seems to regain herself a bit she speaks softly.

It's muffled but distinctive and you feel a rush of emotion flow through you: joy. Part of you wants to stay like this for the rest of the day but reality sets in as you realize your next match is set to begin soon, and it's against arguably your most dangerous opponent. Rodrik.

You pat Nivah's head softly and she understands. She parts from you slowly then nods up at you, understanding that it is time for you to prepare yourself.

So reading the earlier posts, I wonder what's Rodrik's specialization? He seems efficient and does well in terms of speed and bladework. but that's par for the course. I'm willing to bet his speciality lies in the versatility of using both the force and speed in his swordsmanship.

So unfortunately it is getting late, and I have plans tomorrow. The fight between Xanth and Rodrik is also not going to be a walk in the park. I'd like to schedule it in a way that maximizes the amount of people that get to participate because I know a lot of you want to see it go down. The next day I'll be good to run is next Sunday sadly, then we will have our chance to fight one of the big fights. I'll still be hanging around for quite a while as I close up the thread. He's very quick on his feet. Xanth on the whole is pretty well rounded in terms of both speed and strength. Rodrik however is built almost entirely for speed, and he uses it well. If you're not careful he'll just dance around you. He's primarily blade work like yourself, however he does have a stronger foundation in the force then you do since your training has been so focused on your physical abilities. He's not going to be a pushover, so don't cry if you guys make a bad decision and a high DC gets thrown at you.

I would also like to point out one this that had an affect on a DC today. Your enemies are not stupid. If they see you using a trick over and over, they will try to adapt their fighting style to counter it. That's why the DC for that force jump earlier in the thread was a 7. You need to hit a balance between using your strengths and not becoming a one trick pony.

For the most part he's heavily supported by a lot of the lower class audience because he was a former slave.

Most of the upper class find him unsettling, just because the thought of a former slave becoming so powerful doesn't sit well with them, especially considering many of them own slaves who were just like you.

That's why we're going so make sure that anyone who takes us in as an apprentice also has to take Nivah in as well. And now that the secret love relationship's out, the ones who are prospecting for our apprenticeship are gonna seriously think before even attempting to separate Xanth and Nivah. Either it's take them both in or don't take them in at all.

Welp that last step is likely to be forced, which will even further strengthen the bonds since we won't be initiating the separation.

Btw Nivah is my favorite yandere anywhere ever, i love how she is written and i like her personality. And i like how we are corrupting her while simultaneously falling in love with her.
