I pout, crossing my arms.
"Okay. Call me the moment anything goes wrong."

"I will sweetie, thank you."
She leans down, kissing me on my forehead. She spins around and walks through the front door.

I hear the car start as Julie nudges me.
"Hey, you're going to follow her still, right? You better hurry or she'll drive off."
"Of course I'm going to follow her." I sigh, "I just. I need another plan, that's all."

"Maybe you can hide in the back of her car!"
"No, she might look back there. Plus I'm pretty sure Asai is going to check her car when she goes over there."

So that means, I'm almost completely stumped, I'm not sure what I should be doing in order to help Mom.
Or if I should even be helping her. She may just go there, get Cirrus, and everything is fine. What if I try to 'help' and I end up making everything worse?

Oh, this is too confusing. I want my answers to be easy!
"Masami." The principal stands up, flicking his car keys in his hand. "I know that you probably don't want to make things worse, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be doing anything."
"Then what can I do!?"

Eep, I almost yelped that a little too loud. I didn't realize it, but I can feel the faintest hint of tears forming at the edges of my eyes.

"I was thinking of following her."
"But what if-"
"Sorry Masami, but I don't think about the consequences."

"He really doesn't." Ken'ichi yawns, apparently he fell asleep on the porch when everyone was talking.
"You can help me, if you'd like. Ask the student council to form up at the school. I'll meet them there."

Damn it Mom, why do you put me in these hard places!? You know I'm going to follow you, and you know that I'm not going to just 'let it go'? You have to! Maybe you expected me to follow you, and this is all some kind of weird 'test'? No, no. Asai would be the kind to test me, Mom would seriously believe that I would behave on my own. I don't know how she could believe that, but maybe she thinks just this one time-

"Um, Masami?" Julie pokes my shoulder.
"WHAT?"
"Who are you talking to?"

Oh no! I was using my voice the whole time!
"Um! Who are you talking to!?"
"What? No, I asked you that!"

Hah! Shows her!
Wait! No! That's bad! I need her help.
"Um! Julie! Haruko! What do I do?! I can't just leave Mom to go to Fortune alone!"

"I know you can't, Masami. That's why I think we should-"

"Follow her." The blue twin replies.
"Wait for her." The red twin replies.

Uh oh.

"What do you mean 'Wait for her'!?" Julie's gaze snaps toward Haruko.
"What are you saying 'Follow her'!? Didn't you hear what she said!"
"She only said that because she's sad! Not because she doesn't want us to help! What do you think is going to happen, Asai is just going to give Cirrus back without a fight!"

Oh no! I've mad a bad problem even worse now!

"That's not what I think, I just think we should listen to Mom for once, she knows what she's doing!"
"And I think listening to her when she's like this is a terrible idea!"

"SssssTOP YOU TWO." I ball up my fists as I grab their shoulders.
"But you just said-"
"You shouldn't have asked for our advice if you didn't want to hear it!"

"At the very least." Julie pulls my hand off her shoulder. "We should gather the student council. They're not strong, but they're probably clueless as to what's happening right now."
"..I guess I can agree with that." Haruko shrugs.

I sigh, I'm a little disappointed that I don't get to go follow Mom.
But at the same time, Julie's right. My friends don't have any clue what is going on at all. If Asai decides to attack, they'll be completely unaware.

"Okay, we'll go do that."
I look toward Ken and the Principal.

"Can you stay here in case Mom calls? Let me know if she comes back."
"I'm following her, but I'll leave Ken here just in case she does."

Great, Ken alone in my house. I'm sure nothing bad will happen there.
He'll probably fall asleep before Mom gets back.

Instead, I walk over to Kaori. She's wringing her hands, watching the entire conversation transpire.
"So, what do you think?"
"I-I-I-I-I-I-I-"

"Kaori, what are you doing?"
"I DON'T KNOW!"

"..Are you okay? "
"I-I-I-I-I-"

I shake her a little bit, that's when I notice her skin is kind of clammy.
"Kaori!? What's wrong!?"
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!"

Suddenly, she grabs onto me.
"I'm scared, I don't know why. Please. Please."
"Please what?!"
"I DON'T KNOW! I'm really confused! I don't know what to do-"

"Kaori, Kaori."
".."

"Please calm down, you're panicking."
"I'm worried. You said everything would be okay and it isn't, you big dummy! How do you explain this!?"

"You're planning something? Like, you actually have a plan?"

"You didn't think Marie and Izumi were the only two who made a plan just in case, riight?" Ryouta almost seems insulted.
"It's not a great plan, but it's something we can use, just in case."

Then I think about it, these two aren't exactly very effective against monsters.
"It better not be something dumb." I cross my arms.

"No, it's not dumb."

"Is it something to deal with Asai?"
"Sort of, it's more of something to deal with him if he decides to use his building against us."

"Then, how does it work? What is it?"

"We want to introduce you to someone we met." Maeda stands up.
"One thing though, you have to promise not to freak out when you see him."

"Freak out? Why would I do that?"
"Well..-"

"There he is, Come on! Over here!"

There's a shriek in the distance, and Kaori and I jump to our feet.
"What did we say about trying to be low-key!" Ryouta yells at the new arrival.
"I can't help it! You know how I look!"

From the other side of the courtyard, covered in metallic spikes, is a monster.

"Huh?" Kaori's eyes light up.
"Hey! What are you doing on school grounds?"
"Masami, I said not to freak out."

"THIS is Masami?!" He stops.
"It's fine, she's not going to hurt you."

"You have to forgive him, Masami. He's kind of a coward."

"H-hello." He says, timidly.

Kaori jumps up and runs over to him.
"Tarou!" She almost hugs him, but then remembers the big spikes. "Isn't this the first time you've ever left the mansion?!"
"Magician?" He moves to pat her head.

"Hey!" I yell at him, "Don't touch Kaori!"

He gasps and jumps back from Kaori, he trembles slightly.
"Masami! Chill!" Kaori glares at me.

So is Maeda, and Ryouta.
"How does this help!?" I snap at them.
That's the monster's cue to run back to the safety of the hallway.

"Masami.." Ryouta sighs, "This is the monster that made the bracelets."
"And you just scared him." Kaori glares.

How is that my fault!?

Okay, sorry for the slow update rate the last half of the thread. I was dealing with RL problems and I'm crashing quick.
