You wander alone for a bit lost in thought. Hestia has been having trouble understanding the nature of the invitations that you recovered from the revolutionary in hell. So you find a drone to contact her over.


“Hestia, could you help me find someone?” You ask the drone, it spins about in place when you talk to it.

“Certainly, who are you trying to locate?” Hestia’s voice comes out happily from the drone.

“I was thinking about talking with the demon who won the magic contest during the tournament,” you respond which makes the drone stop spinning.


“Why would you want to speak with,” Hestia pauses for a nearly imperceptible moment, “her?”

“Mastery of demon magic could help us understand how the invitations open portals to hell. I was planning on assisting with research and it seemed like a good place to start.”

“I believe I share Ayla’s sentiments that the succubi you allow to enter the city are an unneeded distraction, but you are correct the demon’s assistance would be helpful in this instance.” Hestia agrees and the drone resumes its gentle spinning, “I have the demon report to the research center shortly.”

“Alright that works too, I need to fetch Ayla to help too.”

“I shall bring her as well then, prepare for teleport,” Hestia states and with a flash you, Ayla and a demon are in Hestia’s monitor room.


“Kill them all for glory!” Ayla is shouting as the teleport resolves, “What the? Hestia that was mean I’m practicing.” Ayla is barely dressed in a toga and a crown of laurels.

“Yes I see that you are enjoying your preparations for the arena but your presence is currently required,” Hestia states.

“Just what are we doing here?” The demon saunters up to you, “Is this a special benefit for all who win your little contests?”

Ayla pushes herself between you and the succubus. “Yes, master what’s up?”

“Is it possible for you to assist in understanding these invitations? We are having trouble discerning how the magic works,” You ask the demon.

“Ah, you’re no fun,” she pouts at you, “I’ll help you learn about it later, I’m busy enjoying being free from hell right now, but if you want to study alone,” she trails off and licks her lips.

“No that will be fine, just come around here sometime later,” You say much to the disappointment of the demon.

“Another time then perhaps,” She says and leaves you.


“So what are you studying today master?” Ayla asks, “normally the people here don’t like me coming in much.”

“Are you able to create things?” You ask Ayla, “When I do it Hestia has trouble scanning how it works.”

“You mean like this?” Ayla makes a sphere of water appear and starts twisting it around into different shapes.


“Interesting Ayla, would you please go to room 37-c and continue creating things until you are no longer able to,” Hestia states, “What you did there seems to vastly different from how Reg- the goblin king does it. I might be able to study the process you are using.”

“Do I have to?” Ayla asks, “this sounds boring.”

“I’m sure if you help Hestia she can arrange for you to have one of those mana filled crystals like you saw at the lake that we used against the giant crab,” You say which makes Ayla immediately start leaving the room.

“Well, I have to go help now master see you later!” She calls out while racing out the door.


“Good luck with that Hestia, I’m going to study that parasite I created,” You say as you too exit the room.

“I know, I can feel life,” You explain to them and motion to Katherine “twins,” and then to Elizabeth “and triplets.”

“What? That many?” They are surprised at your comments, “we need to go check on that,” Katherine says and her sister agrees.

“I didn’t mean to make you worry with the time distortion I was caught in,” you tell them.

You close your eyes and focus on the idea of the parasite, except rather than generating water jets it condenses chitin spines to use as a weapon. With a pop and a pair of screams from the twins a spiky looking thing appears on the table in front of you, it waves tentacles around trying to grasp onto someone.


“That is so creepy!” Elizabeth shouts, “do it again, oh but make it shoot out smaller things at burrow into people like botflies.”

“Ugh! That is so gross,” Katherine complains.

“You got you idea already, so it’s my turn.”


You fell a bit woozy after making the creature but you try again. How does this even work? Should it spit out eggs or something that burst open and scatter larva all over that dig into flesh? Elizabeth is pretty strange if that is the first thing she thought of. More screams accompany the birth of another parasite; it has pulsing green sickly orbs all over its surface.


“This should be good enough for now,” You say and take samples of the two new parasites before placing them into containment. You work with the twins for a while analyzing the genetic makeup of the creatures. They are all very similar but you are still missing something current genetic knowledge just can’t be used to understand these creatures. You miss how easy it is working alongside Hestia for these things, but with your data compiled for her hopefully she will find something you missed and prepare to engage in more advanced biological research.

N, we've lain with more than just them, and children are not a means to elevate one's status or position here. The twins are not very pleased with your non committal decision to them wanting to move in with you and the way the cameras follow your every move makes you feel like you may have made a mistake. You were not actually sure that you could even have children in the first place since you died. But it’s too late to stop it now, the twins seem happy to be expecting mothers and with how connected to life you are it seems to be a bit off to pressure them into getting abortions.


So instead you leave the research center with them and idly chat as you stroll back to your house. They like to just be spending this little time with you, but they do want you to bring Ayla around to visit them more often. Ayla seems to enjoy their company as well so you think about it, they could be a good influence on her.


They watch intently as though memorizing which door is yours when you part ways at the spatially compressed houses. It’s all a bit overwhelming now isn’t it, so you head to the training room to train until your mind is clear.


You open the door and find the adaptive robot waiting in the room.

“Congratulations on learning that you are a father,” Hestia’s voice comes out colder than normal. The door seals behind you and she turns the gravity to 300x.

“Hestia, this is quite a bit farther than I’ve pushed to before,” You tell her, collapsing to your knees under the force of gravity.

“You will adapt, my improvements to structural design of this robot makes control in such extreme environments simple,” She replies.

“Is this supposed to be some sort of lesson?” You ask, “because I’m leaning towards not letting the twins move in, we don’t need special treatment or social maneuvering right now. The city is still growing and everyone is learning to work together.”

Hestia puts you through living hell, the adaptive robot’s morphic cannon is working overtime trying to create an attack that can kill you and you are forcing yourself to move through a level of gravity that you never tried before.


You spend hours as target practice for Hestia, as she talks about how interesting the combat data he is collecting is.


The gravity abruptly returns to normal when you are able to flawlessly avoid all of the attacks that Hestia throws your way.

“You see now?” She asks, “You are much faster than before.”

“No what I see is that this has been very cathartic for you,” you tell her, “I need some rest after all of this, piloting a tireless robot has some advantages.”

“No, I mean it you did well,” Hestia says, “The robot’s reactor was constantly on the verge of overloading.”


You wave her off and get some sleep, because when you get up there is still more to get done.

You walk around the house you hardly use trying to find a consol of some sort to contact Hestia with. You wind up finding a wing of empty bedrooms, dozens of bathroom, a few libraries, an observatory, a massive kitchen and entertaining area, vast gardens, and a seeming endless number of rooms dedicated to very specific forms entertainment. This is why you said keep it simple, no mansions. You don’t even need all these fountains and statues, statues which you notice are depictions of you, the avatar Hestia designed for herself and even occasionally Ayla. All your secret agent training tells you is that there are countless blind spots and ambush locations.


You give up and just use the probes and laptop, so much easier than dealing with this house.

“Hestia, did you happen to take those eggs I found before?”

“Yes I prepared them for hatching and then put them into stasis, would you like for them to be hatched now?” Hestia asks you.

“Ayla thought that they were intelligent, when they hatch if it is not dangerous we should bring her in as well, perhaps she can communicate with whatever it is.”


“A sensible plan, transporting you to the hatchery now,” Hestia says, wait when did you get a hatchery?


You appear with a flash of light in a small room with four separate chambers holding the eggs. The light intensifies in one of the chambers. “Speeding time to force the egg to hatch,” Hestia states.


Cracks form on the surface of the eggs and a hole begins to form. “Time flow returning to normal,” Hestia says.


The small creature within pushes its beak free and tears the eggs open to gain freedom.


It’s a gryphon. The creature begins to eat the egg shell as soon as it can feebly move.

“Based on legend and the creatures that combine to create the creature that seems probable,” Hestia says and a bowl of ground cloned meat appears with a flash.


The gryphon squawks when you push the bowl towards it, but smells what is inside and pushes you away from the bowl to claim ownership. It then gorges itself on the raw meat.


When it finishes the gryphon looks around to locate you, takes a few shaky steps towards you then ever so slightly inclines its head. Then retreats to the far corner and begins to preen itself.

You reach towards the baby gryphon which makes it stop preening. It eyes your hand warily and as soon as you are within reach it lashes out at you with beak and talon. It can’t hurt you so you just scoop the little ball of murder up and hold it. Its heart is racing and tense with panic as it continues to try and maul you.


“It doesn’t appear to like being touched,” Hestia helpfully comments.


It redoubles its efforts to try and murder you but your skin proves to been an impenetrable barrier. You try rocking it back and forth or raising it up and down but the creature doesn’t care about your attempts to soothe it. It just continues to tear at you.

“Perhaps it will calm down if I clean it off?” You ask no one in particular.

“From its actions that seems doubtful, but here are some supplies,” Hestia says and a flash of light reveals some towels and a bowl of warm water.


You spend a few moments cleaning and drying the gryphon off as it continues to try and kill you. Eventually you give up and place the panting creature back down in the hatching chamber. It huffs in indignation at you.

You have Hestia gather Ayla, the twins and why not, Evangeline too. While you wait Hestia speeds time to hatch the other three, which you leave alone this time other than giving them some meat.

When they arrive the twins are highly amused by Ayla tormenting Evangeline by turning into a replica of her.

The girls ooo and aww over the cute baby creatures. When their gushing ends Ayla confronts you.


“This one is mad at you,” Ayla points to the once you picked up, “says that even after it graciously accepted your offering to it that you grabbed it.”

“You can talk to them?” You ask, “I just picked it up and cleaned it off after it hatched.”

“They don’t like that very much,” Ayla explains, “they are tired from hatching, I think they are full of pride, just keep giving them things and it will be forgotten in time. As long as you don’t try anything like trying to have goblins ride them.”

“So they are going to be useless other than eating our food?”

“And being cute!” Evangeline chimes in.


“Not everything can be a soldier in your army master,” Ayla says, “if you treat them good then when they get bigger though they could make good ambassadors though.”

You are not sure if that should make you worried or not, so you ignore it and make your way to the hell portal room.


“You know we are not going to give up that easily,” Katherine starts and Elizabeth finishes as they both take one of your arms, “You seem dedicated to being the goblin king, so as long as you are there for the children it’s ok.”

“You are both are already sharing him?” Evangeline asks, “How does that even work? And you both have children?”

“Ohohoho, do you want to find out?” Ayla teases her.

“Wait I didn’t say that!” She protests.

“You also didn’t say that you didn’t,” Elizabeth joins in on the teasing.

“Don’t have, but we are with children,” Katherine clarifies, “five between the two of us.”


You try your best to just stay out of it, they can resolve this one all by themselves.

“It’s easier to just not have the parts that make babies,” Ayla comments off hand when the teasing stops.

“You can do that?” Evangeline asks.

“Sure it’s just like taking your heart out,” Ayla pulls a beating heart free from her chest which makes the others go pale.

Yup just stay out of it, not your problem at all.


Thankfully the portal to hell arrives just in the nick of time.

“Here we are, the portal to hell,” You show the ladies.

“Looks like a mirror,” the twins comment.

“It utilizes an enchantment that was recovered from a pair of mirrors,” Hestia chimes in, “I have prepared a group of drones to act as protection and guides while you are in hell, please do not wander far from them.”

You exit the portal in an opulent palace, Hestia must have moved the portal to the central castle at the peak of the outcropping the demonic city is built onto. The palace and the city have been restyled into an elaborate gothic style, the height of the formidable architecture combined with the twisted demonic statues make the city feel a bit oppressively awe inspiring. While Ayla playfully floats around making faces at statues the others stick close to you wide eyed as they take it all in. A few imps here and there chirp lord slayer when you pass and demons for the most part give you a wide berth.


As you draw closer to the colosseum you see that buildings have also been repurposed into all manner of things. A few enterprising demons have set up shops or even restaurants where they transform the free rations Hestia’s farms provide into something more palatable for others. Imps and succubi seem to be the majority of the workers and shopkeepers. What is being sold is no doubt inferior to anything Hestia can make but it could be interesting to take a look at some of the shops when you finish in the arena.


The arena dominates the area where the colosseum sits and inside you see that a large amount of water has been used to create space for aquatic battles as well. The colosseum is adorned with banners depicting the Bonetooth tribe’s emblem, the jagged goblin fang, and statues of yourself and Ayla. Hestia certainly managed to achieve a sense of grandeur with the whole thing.

“Yes, it is time for the arena,”Ayla ushers you all into the best seating area, “I’m the best at this don’t worry.”


From the raised front row seating you can see the arena begin to fill up with demons. They seem to be moving around with ease Hestia’s drones float about maintaining order. When the arena fills Ayla steps out to the front of your seating area. She grows to ten times her normal size catching the attention of the crowd.


“Demons of hell!” Her voice booms throughout the area like thunder, “we have gathered once more to see who is the strongest!”

“Death awaits the weak!” She calls out to the cheering crowd and the raises her hands up bringing total silence to the colosseum.


She allows the moment of peace to continue for a few moments.


Her arms drop as she yells, “Now let the games begin!” The crowd erupts in cheers once more.


Ayla shrinks back down to her normal size and floats back over to you while giggling.

“See its fun here,” She tells you.


The fights being slow with goblins or imps fighting each other or animals, mostly lizards and tigers, but a few crabs and spiders show up on occasion. You spend the next few hours chatting with Ayla, Elizabeth, Katherine and Evangeline getting to know everyone better as you watch increasingly stronger demons do battle. Hestia’s drones come by now and then to drop off refreshments, but her attention seems to be elsewhere.


In the end there is the fight everyone has been waiting for a headless demon with four arms is fighting a strange looking female demon with a long neck.

The match up seems fairly well matched, they exchange blows and fight evenly for the most part but you can tell that the winner is going to be:

When the fight concludes it will bring the end of the events at the arena today, so afterwards you:

The demons continue their battle for a while, but the demon with the long neck just seems to be a little too fast, her claws tear the four armed demon to pieces. You think about stopping to speak with the winner but with your guests here that could be a bad idea.


“Why don’t we go look at the shops before heading back home?” You ask the girls, the bunch of happy looking faces you see has you a bit worried. What demons even use for money?


You wander through the market looking for interesting things.

“Look master candy!” Ayla points out a small chocolate shop, but does she really need a sugar rush?


“The written form of spells is very rare, demons may have some though,” Evangeline wants to go to a book store.


“Demon fashion could be interesting,” Katherine and Elizabeth agree when they find a clothing shop.

Well since they were offered up to you in what should be fasted to slowest to get through you’ll just bite the bullet and go to all three places. The candy shop is small but has a surprisingly large offering of candies, some things like chocolate covered severed fingers are a bit off putting to your group but you find a collection of chocolate and assorted other candy that the girls are happy with.

“Perhaps you would be interested in getting a little extra sugar in the back room,” the succubus clerk tries to tempt you but gives it up under the combined might of four death glares.

At least you’ve determined that the demons are perfectly happy to accept gold coins as payment. So you head over to the small bookstore to search for magic books. This time one of Hestia’s drones enter the shop with you, it scans over all the books searching for magic and finds one. It is title is a string of expletives in Latin and claims to contain the magical ability to make magic not kill your enemies, a must for powerful mages who wish to torture successfully. Ayla finds a picture book depicting demonic creatures, the twins each pick out books of poetry and Evangeline chooses a large tome called the history of the arcane.

You are nearly bled dry, you have just under 180 gold left, and you face the clothing store now. Ayla grabs piles of very sheer and skimpy clothes for everyone. You find the twins conspiring about something in a dark corner that looks suspiciously like it is displaying fetish gear. Evangeline finds a pair of thigh highs and elbow gloves to match a short but elegant blood red dress. You total comes to 300 gold, almost twice what you have left to spend. You may regenerate but you can be sure that there is no way you can make it out alive if you have anyone put what they choose back. So you dig into your pouch and hope for a scavenging miracle. You manage to draw nearly a thousand gold from your pouch and quickly pay for the items and leave before they spend the rest of your money.

Somehow you’ve survived shopping and made a profit from it, so you walk the girls back to the portal. After seeing Elizabeth, Katherine and Evangeline safely back with your purchases, you walk with Ayla to the point where the next level of hell can be accessed.


“It has been a while since we were here, but it’s time to enter the second level of hell,” you tell Ayla.

“Are you ready master?” She grabs your hands and her eyes glow.

“Yes, the two of us can handle whatever is there,” you tell her.


Ayla’s power builds and she tears a portal through reality to the next level of hell.
