Well, it seemed that the Hulk still had some hours to reach its destination so you might spend some time reading old tales of Mechanicus explorators and what kind of adventures did they had. Once again you searched across the logbook, after searching for some time you started to read one that caught your attention.

++ IMPERIAL DATE: 227.M41 ++
++ Today we have found a drifting Rak’Gol Mangler starship floating adrift. It showed heavy signs of battle damage and was apparently devoid of life. After reuniting the coven of Magii and debating what kind of pathway should we approach for this unexpected event we decided that sending a scouting party would be the best idea. ++

++ The scout party, formed by me and three cohorts of Skitarius, accompanied by an Enginseer, a combat medic and a couple of combat servitors each, successfully entered into the alien craft and was able to install a communications relay for further exchange of possible useful data. During the first 24 hours there was nothing worth of study; most of the technology lying around was primitive or destroyed. Bodies of Humans, Orks and Rak’Gol could be found lying around in advanced states of decomposition and showing marks of battle. The humans seem to be merchants and mercenaries. ++

++ Third day and we have already made contact…or better said, whatever roamed those corridors has finally found us. As if it we were a mere sport and we were the prey we have seen how dozens of frozen Rak’Gols suddenly returned to life and powered by an endless rage jumped and attacked at us. The first combat was in our favor; our hellguns killed them as if their thick skin were made of paper. Their great sizes only turned them into an easier target. A couple of them ran away into the darkness and probed once again how coward their inferior genes can be. We didn't suffer any casualty and only AL-Sigma-VII was damaged during the combat. ++

++ Al-Sigma-VII’s chest became pierced by one of their Razor Guns. The razor barb entered into its shoulder and penetrated on the wall behind him, becoming tense in the process. From the shock of the impact he fell backwards, since the barb was tense and still inside him the falling action ended cutting him vertically, almost completely severing his arm from his chest. Following the Medic’s advice we patched up the wound so he doesn't ends bleeding to death. One of the servitors is now using his flamer to heat a metal plate that we have plucked from a wall. As soon as he regains his consciousness we will completely sever his arm and use the heated plate to cauterize the entire wound; the enginseer has ideated a way to use one Hellgun power pack to shock him from time to time and use the pain stress as a way of keeping him awake and alive during the entire process. ++

++ He’s dead. ++
>>
>>42270891
Reading such tale didn't cheer your spirit. You had seen so many people so far…even you had become technically dead at some point. With a sigh you decided to skip the rest of the story until the end part.

++ We have successfully captured four Rak’Gols and cryogenically stored them on the warehouse #99-Zeta. Omnissiah Vult. ++

You were pretty surprised by that. They sacrificed themselves for capturing xenos that only deserved death. Curious by what else could they store you decided to look at the Inventory lists.

>Search in the computer what inventory does it have and where it is.

You cracked your fingers and felt happy to be able to work on a computerized query; that was the kind of menial work that you enjoyed.

Still, it seemed that today wouldn't be your lucky day. As soon as you tried to access those lists a password popup appeared, without it accessing would be near impossible and trying to hack your way into it could be considered heretical and anger not only the cogitator but also the machine spirit of the whole ship.

>Try to hack the password ( Roll 1d100. 90 or more to be successful )
>Search in the computer what rooms does it have and where they are. Maybe the password could be found on the Captain’s private room.
>Simply travel to the warehouses. You came here to search treasures after all.

You were alone in such big cruiser...at least in theory. You better see what kind of rooms are there and where exactly are they located, your map only covers big portions of the ships but not which rooms do they store individually.

After searching around you found a datalink cable that was compatible with the neural ports of your neck, luckily for you those were still in good shape and the data transmission would be possible.

While reciting a prayer of Connection and correct Transmission you slowly approached the male end of the cable onto your female port. When the connection was done several sparks flew away from your body and an electrical arc flew away and impacted across your wings and metallic spine, making you fell chills all across your body and paralysing you for a short time. The machine spirit of that cogitator was way stronger than you had expected but it seemingly accepted you into its databanks.

There are a lot of things that could happen. In scenarios where it works, every faction has reason to do something about it.

>Tyranids: threat to the Hive Mind and their advance.
>Necrons: new weapon that'll give them the edge.
>Tau: same as above. They have no psychic potential but other factions do most of the time.
>Eldar: potential threat to their race.
>Dark Eldar: potential trophy and an excuse to fuck with humans.
>Daemons/cultists (especially Xeno cultists or Tzeentch aligned entities): An insult to the Dark Gods, like one would deny their influence and living gateways for the immaterium.
>Rak'Gols: Bad for their Techno-Shamans, but they already hated everything.
>Every psychic xenos ever: obvious reasons.

I'm just going to say that one of those possibilities is somewhat close to what I have planned.

>ALPHA WING
Well, it wouldn't hurt to look around before accessing those rooms, knowing how prideful was the captain of his possessions the idea of him bobby trapping some rooms wouldn't be so unexpected. Since the Alpha wing was one of the biggest and the one where all the treasures were supposed to be stored you accessed their cameras first.

The Garage showed some vehicles that you couldn't completely identify due to the lack of light, how old the camera was and also because everything seemed to be covered by a fine layer of dust and cobwebs that made distinguishing different forms or colours even more challenging. You counted at least thirty different vehicles, from their vague shapes you theorized that a couple of them were civilian high-tech sport vehicles and the rest transports, scout walkers or tanks. Surely those two sport cars were used in forge and civilized worlds by the Captain or the Magos to quickly travel.

Most of the cameras of the Warehouses were destroyed... the few ones that worked showed several human and alien bodies in cryonic storage and dozens of cabinets full of boxes, some of them were covered in chains and purity seals while others were simply covered in wooden or cardboard.

The only camera of the Titan Hangar showed the naked head of a titan that was halfway through repairs. Squinting and trying to discern more details you notice that the Holy war machine is way too damaged to be used. Still, it is an invaluable treasure.

Thousands of malnourished and skeletal servitors lie on their dormitories. Something similar can be seen on the Slave dormitories. It seems that there is a rat infestation down there that has been feasting on the bodies and reproducing at an uncontrolled rate since they were abandoned more than 500 years ago.
>>
>>42272257

>GAMMA WING

The Schola is empty...eerily empty. Books, scrolls and all kinds of school paraphernalia lie on the floor. The evacuation surely took them by surprise in the middle of the classes. You try to read what is written on some chalkboards but the image quality isn't good enough to do so.

Even if devoid of life the Cathedral seems alive to some degree. The dim emergency lights that illuminate the entire cruiser light their roses and stained glasses. Its appearance wasn't really different of how most of those Cathedrals looked at night.

The few cameras of their dormitories showed small cramped empty rooms with half ended projects and opened books. There wasn't much more to see on those.

A half operated body lied on the Medicae Bay with his cranium opened and chest opened. A nest of rats had made its home on his cadavers. Nothing noteworthy besides that.

A still working servitor that was connected to a power cable was serving food from a casserole that had been empty since centuries. Most of the food trays have small mounds of mouldy food on them. The preprogrammed route of the servitor made him repeat his footsteps over and over until his feet bleed, the floor is now painted with a near perfect crimson line of his neverending route.

Cold and dead forges on the next room. The room is in fact mostly frozen, this is because some forge rooms are cooled so the temperature becomes bearable for the workers, now that the fire has been extinguished the cold has been able to invade it all. Reawakening those forges would be a near impossible task.

The training room was full of combat dummies that rested on the floor. The silhouette of a great humanoid lied on the distance but you couldn't see what it was. It wasn't alive, that for sure thought, it made no movement and a dead body couldn't stand on its feet as it did.

>DELTA WING

The rooms of the high ranked members were varied and unique. Those people weren't exclusively members of the mechanicus and thus you could find several decoration styles and symbols that were out of the norm. Like the icon of the Navis Nobilite on the navigator's room or an ample room that was designed for psykers and astropaths and was mostly devoid of decoration or furniture.

Nothing interesting in the Medicae Bay and Dinning Lounge.

The recreational area was playing a holo-movie that has been seemingly repeating over and over for the last 500 years. If it hasn't been very corrupted you might be able too see it by yourself, it might be a documentary that might teach you something new.

Unlike the Skitarii training room this one was smaller and seemingly designed for personal use. There were posters about doing duel and sword combat competitions.

The Magii forge like the other was dead, still this one wasn't at least frozen, using it could be possible. The schola was small but had a great concentration of books of high complexity whose names you couldn't even comprehend.

>Try to calculate how much time it would take you to explore it all.

Now that you had studied the different parts of the ship you needed to calculate how much time would it take you to explore. Having in count that the elevators don't work and that Promethia can run at a top speed of about 200 miles per hour...

About two entire days to explore the entirety of the ship...and that if you managed to find barrels with promethium to refuel. Otherwise you would need entire weeks.

>Activate the power of the ship.
>Try to find ways to keep us secure, like finding turrets, locking doors etc.

This ship holds many secrets and it cannot be completely explored in such a powerless situation. You better find a way to reawake its generatorium and place some defences, surely when you fully power it the rest of auspexes and cogitators that lie on the Space Hulk will be able to notice the Explorator Cruiser's power spike.

Still...what can you do to avoid it being searched? So far they have just ignored it because of the locked entrance or by pure luck. After powering the entire ship you would have to travel to the Ship's system room and order a total lockdown. Luckily you will be able to seal it all before anybody manages to breach.

With your red bike you head into the heart of the ship as fast as a bullet. Luckily for you most of the ship is formed by straight empty corridors and so you can freely accelerate. To your surprise your bike is better than you expected at climbing stairs, by the time you were about to reach the Generator you even dared to use a small set of stairs as a improvised ramp and jump several feet in the air. Your landing wasn't perfect but at least you didn't crashed nor fell down.

Pumped with adrenaline you reached your destination and you rubbed your hands in anticipation and excitation.

Back on your feet you carefully completed each step of the activation. Such ritual usually needed half a dozen of personnel and about thirty minutes but with only you on board it ended taking about two hours. Luckily for you the last steps were automatic, you rushed to your bike and headed into the System room.
>>
>>42272828
As you drove you started to notice how the lights in front of you were slowly changing from a red emergency light to a fully powered white lux. It somewhat felt as if the ship was welcoming and guiding you in. This time you drove even faster, there wasn't even a single second that you could spare.By the time you reached the door you sat on the empty seat that was in front of the door's control cogitator and ordered a complete sealing of the exterior doors.

You checked the clock in your HUD and noticed that since the reawakening of the power generator at least thirty minutes had passed. You hoped it wasn't too late.

Somewhat scared you went into another computer that showed the general signs of the ship and entered a command to see how many vital signs were on board. The result was worse than you expected.

>++ COMPLETE NUMBER OF VITAL SIGNS ON THE CRUISER: 28 ++<

Well...having in mind that there were hundreds of Astartes and Greenskins out there having 27 invaders wasn't so bad. Right?

>Try to access the cameras again, lets see if you can see a glimpse of those enemies.

>Try to access the cameras again, lets see if you can see a glimpse of those enemies.

With a way better view you frenetically searched around all the cameras trying to catch a glimpse of those enemies. At first you noticed a group of ten orks, they seemed to be a small scouting party, they didn't wore any armor with the exception of some loose shirts and metal helmets and were armed with crude pistols and swords. Those were located on the same entrance you came from.

Near the warehouse rested a group of four strange aliens of reptilian appearance and big bodies, most of their limbs were exchanged with crude bionics like chainsaws or stubber guns. These semeed to have come from the biochambers...could those be the Rak'Gol the captain described?

A small group of three warriors that ported yellowish armours and long rifles was also seemingly awaken from the criochambers, they travelled together and were sentient as they used tactics and talked with signs and apparently also using an internal communicator. You didn't knew the name of this race but they surely meant trouble.

The last group was formed by another seven corrupted Astartes and three Heretek companions, including the one that you saw on the Rogue Trader ship.

Ten orks, plus four reptilian xenos, plus another three xenos and the rest of the warband warriors made a total of 27 warriors. Making a total of 28 with you.

>Try to control the access of doors to guide those warriors into each other and see how the massacre erupts.

You have become a powerful individual but there are times in which your task is way too challenging for you...and this is one of those occasions. The room you are at was designed for several techpriest workers that could synergy and have a steady flow of work.

With only a pair of hands you couldn't keep with the rhythm. Every time you managed to see a group about to cross a door you were too late to close it in time. Each cogitator had a purpose and the one that controlled the cameras and the one that controlled the doors were simply way too separated to be efficient, something that completely infuriated you.

The only thing that you managed to make was alert everybody of your presence, they all knew now that there was something else trying to control the doors.

One of the three hereteks opened his robes and sent at least twenty cables into a connection port, something similar happened with one of the sand coloured warriors that tried to tinked with a cogitator, finally an Ork Mekanik was also butchering a terminal with his hands and pushing a bunch of his own cables into the interior of the gored motherboard.

They were all trying to expel you from the control. All the screens turned red and alarm messages popped up everywhere. No matter how strong the machine spirit was unless you managed to do something they would end corrupting and controlling it with their heretic or alien technologies.

>Roll 1d100 to see how it goes.

By the Omnissiah. You, will NOT TOLERATE SUCH INTRUSION. You opened the commands and proceeded to expel a code that would smite them one by one. First one would be the Heretek, his kin was even more abominable than the aliens for they were once on the true path of the Machine God and did abandon it on purpose.

Your fingers smash the buttons and created a firewall that not even his twisted ways would be able to surpass. Not only that, you also designed a quick trap that would send several terawatts of electrical current into its warped body.

From each of the many cables that connected him with the ship a blast of energy travelled in an instant. A regular man would have died from a single shock but since he was connected from several points the power of the blast became multiplied several times.

His body exploded and flew several feet backwards, his charred skeleton became crushed against the metallic wall and became a grimm reminder of his quick death. The explosion was so potent and big that another Heretek and a marine became affected. The first one seemed to enter into a catatonic state but the second only became stunned for a few seconds.

Shortly after the Mek suffered the same fate but it also survived, in fact it seemed to overcharge its bionics and gadgets to his pleasant surprise. After the discharge the lights on his armour and weapons became even shinier and apparently way more lethal.

The another aliens seemed to notice the interference of the others and disconnected, ending unharmed by your trap.

Well, at least the first blood was for you.

The Rak'Gols will have no choice at least. Focus on them and lead them to a group for now. The CSMs specifically will need to be trimmed down.

Hunt the heretiks down, without them we can use the ships systems and machines to kill the Astartes

>Try directing them into each other once again

This time you wont make the same mistakes as before. You connect with the cogitator that controls the cameras and sit in front of the one that is linked to the doors.

From time to time you connected to the cameras and saw it directly inlaid in your optic nerve, after that you opened or closed doors as it was necessary. Constantly changing from the cameras to the other screen started to accumulate in form of stress as flourish as a migraine and a phantom eye itch that was incredibly annoying. God, the fleshcage that was your chest started to sweat like a shower, specially on the armpits.

One by one you started to direct them into their doom as if you were some kind of sadistic puppet master. The Rak'Gols first meet with the strange alien warriors. A firefight erupted soon after.

The sand coloured warriors managed to maintain the distance for a great time and hunt down several of those vicious reptiles, their guns were somehow able to shoot some kind of plasma like projectiles that pierced their thick scales and crude armours as if they were made of paper. The Rak'Gols seemed to not have any chance of winning, their crude weapons were no match and they simply couldn't advance into a distance close enough to use their weapons properly. Suddenly, a couple of Rak'Gols fled, at first you thought that it was a sign of cowardice but to your surprise they somehow managed to encircle and attack the warriors from behind. This surprise attack took them completely by surprise, they excelled in ranged combat but their limbs and fists were no match for the Rak'Gol's claws and chainsaws. After the gory battle only two Rak'Gol remained.

With the death of those four xenos there were only 23 warriors left.

You then sent the Orks against the Astartes, they had clashed many times before and surely they hated each other more than anything by now. When the two factions meet the overcharged Mek attacked first and unleashed the massive power of his weapons against the Astartes. You didn't noticed what kind of weapons did it use, the flash of light was so bright that it blinded you, further increasing your migraine, after the light levels returned to normal you noticed that now five Marines lied dead on the floor with several holes that completely pierced their armours and bodies. In the following gunfight many other warriors from both sides fell down to their wounds.

When it ended all the Orks were dead and two Astartes and two hereteks remained.

Only seven warriors left.

The stress of such action was too much for you. The machine spirit overpowered you and you ended being expelled from the system. The shock was so big that you even fell to the ground. After weakly standing up you noticed that the computers had frozen and were slowly resetting.

You couldn't use them anymore. They would need at least a couple of hours to completely boot again. You looked outside and noticed that the doors were opening and closing at random intervals.

>Hide, hopefully the Rak'Gols and the Warband would meet and kill each other.
>Take your bike and engage one of the two remaining factions ( Choose between Rak'Gol or Warband )
>Take your bike and ignore the two groups, they would never be able to find you.

I'm thinking put down the astartes via surprise ranged fired to stop them tampering or calling for allies. The rak gol have no outside help coming their way, and may be too primitive to fuck anything up? Didn't know they were a thing, so no idea how much of a threat they are to the goods.

Warband

Warband. Hit and Run, leading to the Rak'Gols who will attack them on sight upon encounter. Finish everyone off afterwards and collect interesting stuff, like the Mek's strange weapon and the yellow xenos' gear.

>yellow xenos' gear.
Yeah, grabbing those plasma rifles before engaging the warband might be a good idea too. We might either land ourselves something worth shooting at the astates with and save using up ammo for our own plasma weapon or failing that they could be juryrigged to explode in a big and messy way

>Take your bike and engage one of the two remaining factions ( Warband )

The warband posses the biggest threat, both technologically and combatively speaking. They aren't only stronger but also able to understand and corrupt sacred Imperial technology.

You checked all your gear and prayed for its correct function. Then you got on your bike and softly placed your hand on the front mounted Bolter that you had gotten from a fallen Astartes. With such powerful weapons and your speed your chances of winning aren't so slim at it seems.

"Promethia, are you ready to distribute punishment to all those who have affronted the holy teachings of the Cult Mechanicus?"

The engine growled in anticipation and a small burst of fire left the exhaust. With a quick wrist movement you accelerated and drove towards the Astartes. After about twenty minutes you made contact with them.

You didn't gave them the chance to react and directly shoot Bolt rounds at their direction. Each munition exploded at their contact but their thick Adamantium armours were way too thick for them to penetrate. With a blow with the hand the Astartes violently pushed the hereteks back.

Noticing how it didn't worked you ended braking hard and turning around to make an escape. Your first attack wasn't successful, they didn't only knew of your existence now but also ended unscathed from your failed attack. Luckily for you it seemed that the Heretek that had the colour filled Needler didn't recognised you.

"COME BACK HERE!!!"

You looked back for a second and noticed them running behind you with their powerful legs.

Alright guys, I'll have to end it for today. It has only lasted about 4 hours I know but I cannot go for longer.

As usual 30 minutes for questions, suggestions and whatnot

Thanks for running. Shame we didn't juryrig those xeno plasma rifles to leave behind for our pursuers

From 27 enemies to 6 all by himself, not bad for Heracor.

We can do that next thread. Lure the corrupted astartes towards the xenos, who will come towards the source of the commotion, speed away on our bike, Rak'Gol will attack foes already there instead of chasing after, and while everyone's busy we go grab the pulse rifles and try them out.

I'll remember the mek gear too once everyone's dead.
>>
>>42275267
Well, we will still have a chance to do so. Remember that Heracor knows almost nothing from the Tau, he might simply dismiss them as xenojunk.
>>
>>42275327
Well, he did see that they were pretty effective. He could conclude that with that gear, the xenos could've killed all the Rak'Gols easily if they had successfully maintained ranged combat.
>>
>>42275379
Well, you guys are somewhat his conscience. It's up to you taking or discarding them.

Efficienceeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy
'Sides, he's got by using a plethora of xenotech when cobbling race vehicles together lately, even noting the power with which some xeno components functioned (necron engine)
>>
>>42275490
Honestly I was somewhat wary of adding the Necron Engine, their units aren't the fastest ones after all.
>>
>>42275504
They do have super powerful generators though. So it depends on what extent the necron engine was supplying simple energy or actual thrust/torque. Since it was a hovercraft I'm inclined to say it supplied energy.

Why do you sometimes add "---" at the start of some messages?
