Wow Poka, you are now truly my hero <3

Hmm, i think i am going to pick up that axe, and see if i can have that helmet.

But that ghost over at the far east over the chest is scaring me and i think we should kill it first and then let the stragglers pick up the loot for later...?
>>
>>42194457
That axe is already in my hopefully capable hands sir. Do note that should I pass away, I do hope anyone will make good use of it. For now however, let me make good use of it to protect our common interests such as:

-Staying alive
-Defeating foes
-And other sub things filed under both listed above.

Ah, alright i had hoped i could use it myself, but i shall retreat to a supporting role for now and see if i can test that ghost.

So take it for now and lets go ghost busting.

Event !

It seems that this mountain could only take so much before finally giving in to the combined destructive potential of the malebolgia and our party of accident prone runners....

Our lines are split, and our numbers unevenly distributed it seems fate has played a hand in making us own up to our decisions...

That's the end of the game for today guise. I have some work to catch up to and sleep maybe later :D.

Positions for next game will undoubetdly be locked. This thread is about game discussion and various feedback yay !
>>
>>42194588
OH FUCK! I'm going to have to help the Navigator I see!

Also, didn''t we kill that reaper?
>>
>>42194661
The western reaper only took 9 damage.... so no ?
>>
>>42194705
my mistake, I declared it dead. it' s dead.
>>
>>42194588
Runner, I wanted to ask about how bloodthirst worked, it feels like it's I dunno, effectively useless for a hunter unless it can give temp HP as well (but that might be too much calculation). I just say this because I damn well killed a guy by throwing him off into the void (or effectively killed him) and it didn't generate HP on a turn when I was taking enough damage to die... now granted it can be argued that he didn't actually 'die' until he hit the floor, but we've been using game logic everywhere else so why not here?

>>42194738
>>42194705
Yeah I was about to say ^^; I remembered seeing a little skull under it. I guess that one was just a whimp compared to the other!

Good, this way I can run down and hook and pull the Navigator to safety!

Also, when's the next game? Later today? Or in a couple of days?
>>
>>42194778
At the time I wasn't privy to everyone's stats so that passive slipped my mind. However I do recall a few moments where you killed someone but had Full HP so it had been redundant then.

I thought I escaped 20 people games.
But my skirmish cred too strongk :<
>>
Would any of the hunters west of the map give me a lift? I'm stuck on the other side and I'd really like to be of help. A little chain grab and pull perhaps? H2 or whoever else is there?
>>
>>42194873
sorry man! And I understand. It still feels like as a passive it would work better as something else than straight up leeching health given how LOW Hunter health is. I dunno. My first instinct is some little buff that triggers upon a kill and doesn't stack and just stops bleeding. But I'm incredibly biased in this matter and will defer to other's judgement on if I'm just silly or not :P
>>
>>42194923
I gotta chain pull the Navigator to safety, but if I can manage to grab you too I will.
>>
Thanks for running, Runner - that was lots and lots of fun.

Feedback! I think the new magic system seems to work pretty well! Slightly dangerous when people prepare two things, which gets very destructive, but it also means they have to prepare ahead of time so it evens out. I like it.

The original balancing point was against militia, who can still fire once a turn. I think it might be slightly better if Militia pick [Ammo] type, then [Firing Mode] when they fire. That way, Mages get more explosion and power potential but they lock themselves in whereas militia do a little less generally havoc and fire once a turn still, but their varied ammo + firing options means they always have a bit of flexibility, which underscores the "Difference" between the two types of ranged support fire.

on the other hand, the militia still seems useful. as is. I certainly feel useful, running around and burning my own hands while shooting at stuff with EXPLOSIONS!

Time Stasis seems very, very useful. Perhaps the Navigator is almost a little too good? The extra act they get + their magic is very powerful. Trading away their own acts could start as 1+1 extra, instead of being a 1:1 basis, that way they don't need 3 act from the get-go to make use of their "haste" spell.

The Slayer is strong. This is great. Go Slayer!

You draw magnificent explosions. This is a good thing.

Our teamwork is improving. Go team!

Spooky ghosts are spooky
>>
>>42194941
Actually there were instances in the level where enemy auras or buffs that benefited monsters applied to holders of Bloodlust which gave it a lot of character on top of the minimum benefit of giving life. Also the skills here tend to make more sense towards their Spec Classes, since base skills can be applied to the skill library of an [advance job] class.
>>
>>42195020
AAAH! Okay then.
>>
>>42195070
Well the navigator seems to be on your side of the island, whereas I'm not.
>>
>>42195020
I would love to see what kind of advanced classes you can come up with the rogue, they seem to have a lot of utility in their throw due to its range.

But i wonder how the "Switch" skill is even worth taking? its still a action to get a item, is it meant for those rogues who have a main weapon and then switch into a weapon they want to throw?
>>
>>42195114
The navigator is FALLING OFF the island. That's the issue. I'm hoping they have the presence of mind to timestop or timeslow themselves or something. Get into position and I'll be in position to hook and pull you across soon after. Or Owl can run down and do it.
>>
>>42195010
during my run of the Navigator I came upon these two points.

> When they used time stasis, I made it a point that they can't act on a new turn until they make a deciscion to drop it. So time stasis will now be contingent on the caster sustaining it lest the barrier gets dropped not unlike the Hunter's Suspension move.

>Their 2+1 actions felt natural for a class that was essentially the master surgeon of the Guide pack, and the supposed head honcho. However I've considered taking away their wand since having both a wand and a Watch seems too powerful. I would like to think that Navigators are 6 parts healer to their 4 parts time traveller with a focus on trauma mitigation and even counter-reversals .
>>
>>42195127
Think "Switch" with an enemy's gear, because yo ucan totally do that.

Someone swings an axe at you, you switch out the axe and hits them with it.
>>
>>42195127
Switch works on enemies and their equipment too :v. as it lets you trade a hand item you're holding with one that they are holding. Assumedly a stronger weapon- or one where they are extremely dangerous for it. The success rate of this working as an overwatch and a melee move is 99% except when the item they're holding is too overwhelming for your stats/level.
>>
>>42195204
But thats how you use Steal, but i get your point that you would switch your crappy dagger for their shiny longsword instead.

But it still seem a little underwhelming as a skillslot to me.
>>
>>42195245
There's also the point of running to him, switching a lit bomb for his stuff, and running back. The old bait and boom trick

>>
>>42196217
Advance classes can only rolled once you've levelled as a base class [as early as level 2]

And even though your skillset essentially transfers over, there are latent rewards to sticking to a base class for as long as possible before ascending to an advance class. .

And if I do my job [as dm] you'll be seeing plenty of people going back to base classes kuekuekueukekue

>>42196306
Murder-maiming! Death-killing! Blood blood blood. Soon we'll all be 1 skill base husks of our selves.
>>
>>42196306
Looking forward to see what kind of classes you have for Rogue, maybe a "Scout" class that synergy with either hunter or rogue for those moments where Line of sight is a bitch?

On the other hand, is the "torch" an item you can get in this game? would be nice with "throwable" light sources that last only for a round or two.
>>
>>42196306
Here's a question. Are our skill slots limited to four like our item slots?

or can we get all of the abilities from a class then move to the next one? getting more abilities?

Or is it more complicated? Where we have to say, COMBINE two skills somehow?
>>
>>42196306
I am just saying that I would love to continue playing Poka as a guide but if people around me can just ZA WARDUO and other awesome stuff that can probably make Guides redundant.
>>
>>42196306
I just want there to be a space manipulation class. I will work my way down to it from Hunter if I have too but I WILL have it o-o

If I can do Hunter->Slayer->???->Space-manipulator

I will be the speediest mofo in the game.

Also are there ways to enhance basic level skills? Like you said there's a way to make it so guides count their glyphs as the location they are casting from, rather than counting all glyphs as in range?

Also, PLEASE tell me that the Glyph-Knight groups are going to be

R[U]ne Knight and [P]aladin? (paladin would be a healer but focused on knightly stuff, so taking up the direct right side of the knight, and Rune Knight would be directly to the side of Guide, and be a close combat mage drawing glyphs not only onto terrain, but onto OPPONENTS! so somebody could 'pulse' off the glyph on an opponent to turn all their damage from that turn into healing!) Because that would be amazing
>>
>>42196604
I'll be honest, I almost got 3 people killed because Last Ship used Stasis wrong if I had been playing this game normally. The time manipulation skills aren't exactly suitable for regular heals much as they are for making an extremely risky situation manageable.

>>42197927
I'll field this one.
The fundamental issue here is that our terminus clocks are simply too close to the Malebolgia while seasoned and more populous adventuring parties have advanced further ahead than we have. However so long as we're getting away from the mal, what does it matter, really ?

However I won't say no to a few dozen more turns on our terminus clocks for that extra padding.
>>
>>42198037
How do we turn up our terminus clock? Is it done by leaving a floor with turns to spare?

>>42197927
There are other runners. There are also lots of corpses. The number is about the same at any given moment. Merchants are also technically Runners by definition so I dont understand why they're different here.
Also.
The name Ignyll could be a derivative name that has poly synchronously developed in similar planes where draconic life forms existed. Indeed in all our case studies of exhumed texts, the Skyward Order has encountered several instances of exoplanets where the good word of their white dragon has reached the ears of the good people lest the population was mysteriously put down for heretical tendencies.

There are no planets called Ironhearts that I am aware of. Perhaps you can ask the Volgons. Their libraries are a lot less on fire.

Quick question?

Is there anything stopping a ward from being drawn onto a fighter's armor?

I mean bleeding would wash that ward away probably, or water, but it would move with the fighter and always count their space as +1 Def and as healable by any guides? Is that a thing that can be done?

Also I imagine it would only work on metalic or hard armor, can't put chalk onto cloth too easily.

Now to talk about our situation. I can see several issues. There are no guides with the western group. A Hunter might want to grab one willing to be dragged over. The Navigator can help, but she is only one person.

West we have at least one ghost, and one purple thingy to deal with.
That skeleton? Look at the eyes. It is undead and not merely decrepit bones. Also beware of ghost mines. I can see at least three and since they are hard to notice unless you are looking for them I included a map.

>>42203628
This is a skirmish game. You as a player control a single unit in a larger force verse enemies. Teamwork is vital.

There are different classes you can take that start off pretty simple with default gear. You can improve them with surviving each Floor to level up and get more skills, and by finding or buying new equipment.

This particular game is part of a series where we are running from a malevolent force that consumed our worlds and we're now constantly running from it.
>>
>>42203138
Oh, yeah, that IS a pickax. It was just further east.

Scholar is super cool but I'm not sure yet if it's something I'll want to advance to immediately.
>>
>>42203758
I am thinking a Guide with Cleanse might be able to clear the ghost mines. Given how much foot traffic needs to go through the part now it will probably be needed.

>>42203954
Agreed, at the very least we both will want to acquire all the Mage skills available first. Minimum that is level 3 barring any unfortunate deaths.
>>
>>42203758

I have cleanse and pulse and close by the western group since I got spawned at the middle instead of where I wanted to during the earlier phases.

I think runner spawned me and did the stuff I wanted to do and then gave Khya my character as his designation as I didnt ask for one.

either way Iam near the middle and can move up to the gap with a pulse and move to the gap for a pull over
>>
I really do wonder what my inverse needle does.

>>
>>42209560
I believe the two sections of land join up northwards. However I see a lot of enemies under all that darkness. We're going to have to really press forward now if we want to reach the staircase before doom and just blow through them.
>>
I have been wondering that missing guy has gone. They said that he was looking for Aether crystals but there seems to be no more to the east or the west so far. It's all ship wreckage So I looked over the map and noticed two things

That there is a door right near our original spawn point that seems to lead under our feet.

Aether Crystal pink is glowing all along the central western bank

If the people who got separated from the western group are interested there lies a place to explore that might just earn ourselves some friends.

Good morning thread!

>>42194588
Now that we have a good survey of the map, I'll go ahead and post the results of my observations:

This map is 30 steps wide and 30 across, accounting for for a 900 square step area to scout.

With that said we have the bottom 2 sections well within our control with the middle sections being contested. Top section is in the dark. The chances of our routes intersecting at top approach 80 percent, with a 5 percent critical chance that both sides will be seperated before the umbral approach where that chance will double with every passing second after the 11th hour has struck.

We have 13 turns left. The lead we had climbing the stairs is now gone. If you had to compare the data, it took us about 8 turns to capture each section simultaneously

Force Balance:
Our forces are split in two with the western force currently aided by two high ranking adventurers accounts for 1/3rd of our numbers and as of now are cut off from the rest of the group for the time being.

The Eastern forces are composed mostly of amateur runners but carry 2/3rds of our number. They currently face known known unknowns and unknown unknowns to the north.

Advisory:
The western forces lack guides but only need 1 or 2 more. An operation can be carried out in which the new recruits may be able to get 1 across the divide. Get the baghead forces in a favorable bottle neck at starboard and deal with them with area coverage.

East Side: Move steadily but always have a foot walking forward. Else make aggressive attempts at eradicating the unknown by scouting and covering for those on the vanguard and sending in forces to the tip of the spear only when necessary. Its possible to leave 2-3 members to bring up rear while they investigate the crates but it is advised that they only commit a few turns and only the fewest/newest people to the cause...
>>
>>42211678
>>42211678
sounds right to me.

It is also worth mentioning our navigator is hanging off the edge I think, and will need to be rescued. I'm planning on doing so myself, but Owl can pull across anyone on the edge who can make it. It's critical that we get as many across as we can BEFORE that segment falls down.

Then we gotta fight our way through that bottle neck, preferably with explosives, and then we rescue the guy on the back of the ship.

Finally, we light the ship on fire behind us, to act as a massive PYRE that'll light up the level and reveal all the ghosts.
>>

From what I can tell, it seems that [H2] can pull the navigator without moving. Then if [M4] Coffee moves forward, [H2] can reserve an action to hook [M4] as well. That gives us 1 across and 1 saved navigator.

[H1] can just scrape the upper edge of the gap WW N from [G6]. If reserving two actions to hook as well, [G6] and [G4] could both move - get pulled - use action to move for cover / pulse.

Everyone should have just enough space.

That gives 2 mages over there for explosives, two guides two heal. The Bagmen can be held of for one turn by Jenny with the shiny shield and the Slayer, plus if the Navigator gets rescued maybe a time stasis or a reversal if either of them breaks through. That'll harden that edge.

It leaves [M3], [H5], [K3] and [I1] on the ledge.

[K3] and [I1] can head east, for support while [M3] and [H5] can pretty much decide what to do.

Shouldn't be much of an issue, leaving 12 turns to explore and two solid groups.
>>
>>42212046
oh other thing.

As hunters, we need to use hook and pull a lot more and just slicing a lot less. We need to pull folks into close formations, get them all bunched together so our AoE specialists can do the REAL damage. Bunch them up. Or throw them off the ledges entirely. We can instakill a lot of things with hook and pull.

>>42212238
You sure? I can only hook and pull from 3 spaces away, and targeting doesn't allow diagonal movement... I was certain I'd have to move!

Also remember, we want to end with turns to spare, in order for us to have more turns on the next map. Any time we end on a turn sooner than turn 1 the better.
>>
>>42212264
If the Navigator can accel me, then I can do it all. I can move forward, hook pull them, and hook pull coffee. But I've got to be able to move to grab them both given my extremely limited range.
>>
>>42212285
oh also, did anybody archive the threads?
>>
>>42212264
Movement isn't diagnonal. Targetting *is*. This is kinda cool because it subtly makes attacks more effective than hanging around and waiting. So it should work.
>>
>>42212310
Holy shit really? But that means diagonal tragetting is WAAAAY more effective range wise than straight targeting!

Alright, I can make this work then!

I'd like Runner to confirm it though.
>>
Okay.
Green is movement
Red is attack
Blue is support abilities such as breaking open crates or hook-pulling or similar.

Anybody who isn't Coffee, Poka, and our new guide, assuming they actually get in? Get your buts over east and make the big push north.

Trigger? If our other new guide doesn't check in (I think they will) you're the one who needs to get to that ledge for Owl to hook pull you across. You just do what you do best and keep provided fire support, and for god's sake, grab friendly fire passive next map! You are too good at just fucking up the opposition to be worried about hurting us in the process.
>>
>>42212388
oh, and anybody on the falling segment of rock? We are getting OFF of it.

Also the west reaper is already dead, marked as such at the end of the last player phase (so don't worry about it).

Once you are on the ledge? get your butt onto the ship, and start dealing out merry hell.

Hunters? Don't worry about dealing damage if you can be better off pulling an enemy closer into a cluster so the AoEs can do better damage. But if you see a ghost? Smack it. We can easily one hit them and we can do it without reloading, prep time, etc. If you have nothing better to do, then save an attack for 'revealed ghosts' no doubt with the number of AoEs we'll have to dish out, we'll be seeing lots of them revealed.

Hunter III, Guide V, Rogue 1? You guys get crate duty and rearguard. You're furthest in the back and best situated to grab shit. Smash boxes, pick up shit, When turn 10 hits, fucking book it north and catch up with your friends. Do not wait around at the bottom of the map where shit will start getting real the soonest.

Pick up any items you can, but if you have to drop stuff? Drop consumables. They can be replaced. Replace your hammer with a pickaxe if you're a guide. Things like that. Just don't grab up useless stuff unless you need to.

Hunter V, Mage III? If you guys can make it to help them bust up crates? Great. If not? Just keep moving forward.

Remember guys, keep tight formation, break through, keep moving. We'll make it through this. We panicked a bit when the ghosts began possessing people. We know better.

Mages? You get -anything- that produces light? Use it. You make stuff explode? Do so. We need to light this place up like Ignyllmas. If you see enemies clustered around aether crystals? Explode them. It's a waste, but it can't be helped.
>cont.
>>
>>42212462

If we have found the stairs before turn 5, we can try to salvage anything near the top of the map (like more aether crystals), which can then be used to make light sources for us in the future, even if just by enchanting our weapons (and then next level we fight salamanders and fire elementals, so for god's sake, make sure only ONE of your weapons is fire based, and try to keep a backup handy! I'm hoping I can enchant just one end of my chain for example).

We got a plan now. As Owl says "Stick to the Plan". And don't be afraid to adapt to changing circumstances.

In the mean time, night.
>>
>>42212478
>and then next level we probably fight salamanders and fire elementals, it's just our luck, so for god's sake,

fixed.
>>
>>42212388
What are the rules for climbing things?
Am I just spending a pip of move to go up a tile first?

Not sure if I should be so close to that hook hand guy or the ghost since I'm at 1 hp.
>>
>>42212505
as I recall, climbing uses two move unless there's stairs.

My advice, is follow this:>>42212388 you'll be walking into guides and they can heal you. If you're really worried about your one hp, end your movmeent on one of the glyphs, then even if you get beat up and lose your one hp, any guide on the map will be able to pulse your health back to full. Glyphs are awesome like that (or wards, the name is interchangable honestly).

Just get AWAY from where you are, catch up, prepare some spells, and then start blasting any clusters of enemies. If you can get to the crates before turn 10? Smash some open and grab the goodies inside, or scoop up items left behind by the others when they smash open crates as you come in behind them. You'll have plenty of neat shit at the end to sell or give to the people who need it!
>>
>>42212388
Please ensure that distances check out for Hook and pull. Some of these suggestions might get people pulled into a cliff :v
>>
>>42212669
Looks like all the lines to me, actually. [h2] might need to move SS and [H1] move WWSS to hook people one at a time. The only real useful gaps we can hook across safely is little inverse L formed by breakage and explosion.

Better not whip people into a wall.

Thanks for checking the distance out Hetros

Yeah we also need a square to land on if [H1] Pulls me according to that screenshot I will land on an empty block and fall to my death.

In fact now that I check it almost all positions at the closer edge is to wide at least 4 squares.

Let me see if I am getting this right your range with the hook is 3 so you can only target someone farthest of 3 squares away, which means that you can only pull technically 2 squares because the target will not land on your square instead the target will land beside you.

Going by that logic almost none of the ledges are passable save the bottom left corner.
>>
Well that slows things down a little. Hm.

Maybe Coffee can be the hero of the hour? Using Ball+Block [Earth] twice to make a tiny bridge at the lower western part where it's narrowest? If the Navigator gets rescued, then feeds him a single point of Act he can prepare the spells then fire them while everyone moves west. Next turn there's a bridge and most people are across or nearly across. Then the hunters can focus on saving the navigator / swinging chains at people.

I am but a humble drawfag, not a leader type of person. I think Trigger would be a better candidate as I do not think I have a fair understanding of all the rules.
>>
>>42215245
Honestly I think you'd be a good choice. It needs to be someone who is present most threads and has a good grasp on who is doing what, who needs to be botted , who can be left be or withdrawn. More importantly it needs someone who knows what needs to be done to not die to Malebogia.

For example right now we absolutely need a guide over east. G6 has volunteered but isn't present and needs moving. Same with M4.

K2 hasn't been present for the last couple sessions. Probably should be withdrawn.

Most people in the center needs to be moved or removed. Otherwise they will fall woefully behind. If I was ruthless enough and botting I'd send them into the mines if Becka's speculation was right.
>>
Party Leader Responsibilites are thus:
>Issuing commands / Botting non-present members. Can be done 10-20 minutes after phase end.
>Withdrawing inactive members so as not to expose them to unnecessary risk.
> Calling Phase End pre-emptively or during Slow Phases in order to call the QM for processing.
=

Party leader may assign subroles to other members like
Assistant Leader
Strategic Advisory
Squad Leader[s]
Data Fetch
etc

Anyways it seems Poka is the frontrunner here, do you accept this humble role ?

>>42215485
Very well, I accept as long as it helps everyone.
Oh god, there's gonna be blood!
>>
>>42215485
I was looking over the new classes and dreaming about the future. One thing caught my eye.

The Scholar class mentions Runes in sacred geometry. However there is nothing describing what runes can do beyond that. I assume mages can draw them from the get-go given they are given chalk but I have no idea how they are assisted by them. Beyond vague recollections of using them as traps in the first version of Floors.

>>42215485
>>42215538
I can at least handle a little botting, I've done it in previous games when no one else was willing. I can also handle Data Fetching for things like items and skills the players have available.
>>
>>42215559
Prepared spells can be casted as a Runed tile or as a Cast.
>>
>>42215538
All hail all hail.

We'll work it out so its only mostly blood.
>>
>>42213033
>>42213045
By the way can I get confirmation that this understanding of mine is valid?
>>
>>42215716
Yup. You need 3 panels to work with to ferry people across
>>
>>42215778
The thing I don't really understand that you can range 3 tiles but that means the distance between you and the target is just 2 tiles. However the class sheet says you can "pull the target 3 tiles." The only way for this to work if the Hunter can actually move the target on an extra tile adjacent to him.

Another question, do I need assume a different identity for doing Party Leader responsibilities?
>>
can navigators reverse time on terrain?
>>
>>42215778
ON the the other hand if the one being swung prepares an action to shimmy up or grab on to the ledge, it becomes less problematic. I had to do it once when I was 10 Floors old. The hunter that coined the trick is probably 20 ahead of us by now.... "
>>
>>42215848
Pulling someone three tiles can also apply for lateral movements. [side to side] and even diagonal. But never /away/ from the puller.
>>
>>42215871
They can if they can find the terrain that's been lost and if the destruction is recent.
>>
With that said Poka is assigned party leader.
For the first phase of the day we'll be implementing a slow phase.

Slow Phase Rules are thus:
Action phase has unlimited time, but will only phase over once all units have been moved. Or if the Party Leader has called an end to phase.

Slow processing will switch to normal phases once a high activity peak has been achieved. Similarly, phases will be processed at leisure. The obvious downside to slow processing is the lack of effeciency but when people's times get muddy and battlefield conditions hinge on every post it's a nice and steady approach.

I will begin processing dungeon phase and will soon start a new thread then. Get Ready >:o !
