Current problems

>Demonic city – A vast majority of the demons will be unable to complete the process to immigrate to the goblin city in any reasonable amount of time. As such there is a large population of evil creatures without any long term supplies, probability of the brokered peace falling apart is high as the demons will shortly begin to kill and eat each other.

>Outpost – A strange building has been teleported down to the pit. It is a fair bit away from your city but with the improvements in dampening our electronic systems should prevent them from spying.


Hestia’s robots are working overtime keeping order enforced and cleaning blood off the streets. Since there are many thousands of demons waiting to try to obtain access to the portal it may be worth the time and effort to transform the demonic city from a prop into something more functional.

You go and find one of the drones that doesn’t look as busy to contact Hestia through.


“How is the organization going Hestia?” You ask the drone.

“Significantly smoother after your show with the deceased victor of the death match contest.” The drone chimes with Hestia’s voice. “I would suggest massive restrictions on the number of demons that you permit to enter the portal however.”

“Actually I was thinking, how much trouble would it be to divert resources to improve this mock city into something usable?”


Hestia is silent as she ponders your question.


“That would be a significantly better solution, the demons can begin proper socialization here first before being permitted entry to our side.” Hestia states after a while. “I have prepared a set of plans that should be easy for the demons to adjust to for now.”


“I’m sure your plans are good, but I sense that there is something that you need done for them, right?”


“An astute observation. The current expanding population of goblins and now the massive influx of demon refugees is straining our current water supplies. Full access to the lake would solve this, but you have mentioned the presence of a massive crab laying in wait within the lake. If you could remove the crab and solve the problem with the outpost I would have enough free processing capacity to devote to your project of saving hell from itself.” Hestia drones on.

I didn't even think of a problem with water, we're going to have to find a way to create food and water with mana as a research goal.

“Fair enough, I’ll take the crab out first that would give you immediate access to the extra water that you need.”

“Try to not be too flashy then, the outpost remains an unknown.” Hestia responds.


Then you make your way to the portal, once on the other side you head towards the lake side, Ayla enjoys that section of the city so you should be able to pick her up on the way. As you walk through the city goblins wave and shout chief and imps chirp lord slayer as you pass them by.


It takes a little while of looking around but you find her sitting beside a crate with the snake draped around her shoulders. It looks like she is very carefully trying to piece together what looks like a broken test tube.


“Did you get into trouble when I was gone?” You ask her.


“EEP!” Ayla shouts in surprise and shoots up into the air.

“Master, ahahahaha, no no, me and Sazglangolor definitely didn’t break anything.” She says while her smoke pushes the crate away around a corner.


“Oh! Look at this master, I taught Sazglangolor a new trick.” She holds the snake up.


The snake opens it mouth and small arcs of electricity are discharged.

“Isn’t it cool!” Ayla spins the snake around happily.

“I’m not going to ask what you did right now because I’m hunting down the giant crab. Do you want to come?” you ask her.


“The computer- I mean uh,” Ayla struggles for a moment. “Hestia! Yes. Told me ‘to reflect on what I did’ but this sounds much more fun! Sazglangolor can go watch the broken, I mean wait over there.” She tosses the snake into the air and to its credit it takes to the air with much more grace now, calmly flapping its feathered wings as it drifts over to where the crate was hidden.


With Ayla firmly attached to your side to head out to the lake while pondering on how to get the crab to surface.


At the lakeside there is a drone waiting for you.

“I have prepared a large battery filled with mana, according to your previous testimony the crab is attracted to large masses of mana. Good luck.” Hestia says through the drone, with a flash of light the drone is teleported away and replaced with a four foot tall crystal that is brimming with mana.


“M-mmmaster, is that for me?” Ayla looks at you with wide sparkling eyes as a torrent of drool escapes her mouth.


You are about to answer when the ground shakes and the lake ripples. The crab noticed the crystal it seems.


The level of the lake recedes a bit as the crab surfaces, smaller giant crabs tumble off the back of the massive creature as a flood of water drains off of it.


“What?!? No way this is mine!” Ayla stands between the crab and the mana battery.


The crab gurgles menacingly at her.

A crab's brain is located (on a normal sized crab) about a quarter of an inch behind its eyes, so if we scale that up, a dozen or so feet behind the eyes of the crab is where its brain should be on this big fucker.

It looks like Hestia already prepared for this; the mana battery is equipped with a device to convert the mana stored in the crystal to electricity. So you turn it on and get the crystal into the lake, arcs of electricity spark where the crystal hits the water.


The giant crab gurgles angrily as electricity races up its legs and coats its body like armor. A large mass of electrical energy builds up in one of its claws. Then it fires the energy at you.

Ayla jumps in front of you taking the full force of the blast. She laughs as she absorbs the giant bolt of lightning. You both begin to channel mana, your combination of vile and holy energy create an aura around you that could be useful if the giant crab got close to you. Ayla laces eight large searing rays through the crab’s legs, not hurting it for now, but it should restrict the crab’s movements. Then she unleashes a blast of eighteen mana arrows that uselessly explode against the crab’s armored shell.


Then you unleash your laser against the crab, the burst of holy light and electricity slices through the crab’s shell and digs in between its eyes.

You pull out the strange orb and hope it will do something for you as you take aim at the crab’s legs.

The orb reacts differently this time much differently. It melts and distorts changing into a long javelin that pulsates with energy. It wants to be thrown so you do so and open fire with your gun.

Ayla is distracted by the sudden burst of energy that the javelin unleashes as it soars through the air. Mid flight the javelin explodes into brilliant light which causes it to accelerate before colliding with the crab. Simultaneously the bursts of sonic energy collide with one of the crab’s front legs severing it.


>New orb function discovered – Dispelling ray: The orb forms a javelin that when thrown smites an enemy with holy energy and strips any beneficial statuses that they may have.


The force of your attacks cause the crab to stumble towards you. The searing rays slice through the crab’s remaining legs. There is a massive splash as the crab crashes into the lake’s shore. The crippled crab’s body is trying to regenerate the massive damage it took.

I found a world record for breath holding and modified it up based on your stats. If you want to hold you breath longer, get higher stats.

You leap right at the fallen crab aiming for the hole between its eyes, the crab swings at you trying to catch you and crush your body.

You quickly cast bind twice and glowing arcs of electricity wrap around the crab stopping it from moving. Climbing the rest of the way into position you consider using your sword or halberd but crab flesh is weak so your tear into the crab with just your hands. As you dig in you feel waves of magic from Ayla blasting the crab’s eyes or something probably.


Tearing into the crab’s guts you feel the pulse of its soul orb.


So dig towards it deeper into the crab and that’s when you realize that putting on a rebreather first would have been smart but instead you’ll just have to go faster.


Ripping apart an organ sack you find the orb. It is about the size of your head and it feels weak.

You stop by the brewing center to recover your stamina and mana before preparing to go to the outpost.

The premise of Onimusha is a man can absorb the souls of demons, and his duty is more or less to fight demons so they don't destroy everything forever! You really should play the series, pretty fucking good.

“Oh I can help, watch this master.” Ayla turns into smoke and covers your body, the smoke shimmers for a moment. “Now we are invisible, let’s go!”

“That’s great Ayla, but we are nowhere near the outpost right now.”

“I can hold on to you for a long time, don’t worry.”


So with Ayla whatever it is she’s trying to do to you, you are able to focus on being very quiet since no one can see you already. It also takes longer since you need to walk the entire way, but it is effective.


At the outpost you see mounted turrets and foot patrols. The whole think looks like a military installation. With Ayla’s invisibility you are able to sneak inside when the patrols change shifts. The bottom floor of the building is filled with bunks for sleeping and a mess hall. Second floor is empty private quarters and a recreation area.

The third floor takes a lot of waiting until it opens up, inside is computing equipment, visual scans of your city are displayed with markings suggesting how to try and invade the mindboggling space Hestia has designed. On a table there are two dossiers spread out with information on you and Ayla, they are both labeled high priority target and unknown persons.


The door to the final floor is labeled commander’s area keep out by a piece of paper, obviously not official looking a warning to the newer recruits perhaps? In total during your time here you’ve discovered the presence of about 250 human soldiers, armed with some unknown firearms similar to your sonic gun. This just looks to be a small observation outpost as well.

You make your way to the door for the commander’s floor when suddenly –

A man comes bustling though and swings the door wide open carelessly giving you entry. Up the stairs and into the top floor easy enough.


Inside you find a large testing facility, a researcher is hooking equipment up to a bipedal robot, no wait it is a suit of armor of some kind.


“Commander!” The man salutes to the armor, and waits for a moment before the armored person waves its hand. “Uh right, I’ll just continue.”


“We have reports of an unusually energy signature that approached the base, sir.”

“The signature is unable to be visually accounted for and is currently present inside the base, sir.”


“What? Are you all stupid or something? They must have gotten their hands of an invisibility spell.” The researcher yells at the reporting soldier. “Get a full spectral sweep done immediately.”

“Yes sir, it will be done right away, sir.” The soldier salutes and departs.


The researcher goes back to working on the machines connecting to the armor.

Well I fucked that up

You work some magic to unleash some spells to incapacitate the researcher and the guy in the power armor. You aura of fear makes to room glow with holy energy and electric crackling. The researcher panics, screams and runs to the corner of the room to cower in terror. The commander in the armor doesn’t respond until you hit the armor with a slow spell and then bind it as tightly as possible.

You’ve managed to use your magic while remaining completely invisible and so remain undetected for now. If they soldiers are running a sweep looking for you they will find you quickly and easily now. Then when you go to take a closer look at the computer you notice that it says diagnostics complete all systems now functional.

You start looking into how the computer interfaces with the computer the clacking on the keyboard alerts the terrified researcher.

“You’ll never get it to work you monsters!” The researcher screams.


“Let’s see what this suit can do!” The suit starts to flex against the cords of holy and electrical energy.

You are not sure how strong the suit is, possibly strong enough to break free of the binding you cast. So you work fast, learning the systems while looking for how to eject the armor’s occupant.

After you understand how to operate everything you pull out a couple probes and your laptop and connect to the computer giving Hestia access. The screen flips back to the power armor control screen where there is a total device shutdown option; it deactivates the armor and ejects the pilot all in one go at the cost of needing to run diagnostic scans later. The shutdown is triggered and you wait for the countdown.


“I was going to ask why you wanted help with such a simple task.” Hestia’s avatar appears on screen. “However, this terminal has full administrator access to the facility. There were a few security holes that could transfer data to somewhere above but now I have full control of the outpost. And access to all the information they have gathered, yes this is better than I expected. ”


“Alright there is the strength option, prepare to die intruders!” The power armor’s speakers yell.

The suit rips the bind spell to pieces and stands up to its full height then the pilot draws the suits massive sword. Only for the shutdown to finish activating. All the lights on the armor are cut and the cockpit opens and the pilot is ejected. Outside of the armor the full effects of your fear aura hit – her.


“M-m-my father will make you p-pay for this!” Her eyes are wide with terror as your aura drives her to panic.

You bind and gag the girl and researcher, then have Ayla unmeld from your body to watch them. You also drop the auras so they don’t get electrocuted to death by accident. The girl is terrified by Ayla’s shape shifting and starts struggling helplessly.


“You do understand that you are not even a year old right?” You ask Ayla. “She is older than you.”

“What? I don’t work like that. I’m a timeless being master.”


Yup, this is one of those unwinnable arguments so you help Hestia instead. With her guidance you connect a hidden probe deep in the base’s systems. Unless everything gets disassembled no one will even notice that it is there, giving you total control over their systems.


“Good, the base will continue to be under my control when you leave.” Hestia states, “Which will be now, their screams were heard and a team is coming up the stairs now.”


There is a teleport flash and you find yourself back in Hestia’s monitor room.


“Was the information obtained worthwhile?” You ask Hestia.

“No, their scans were very limited they were unable to even penetrate the outer sections of the city.” Hestia’s avatar smiles slightly. “We were able to gain control of their systems so when someone above sends for a report I will be able to trace the request. This and the suit of armor you managed to not destroy were worth the time taken.”


“And the prisoners?”

“Separated and confined for now, if you wish to speak with them here is their location.” Hestia’s avatar fades to show a map.
