What about something similar but with a higher magical index like cyclops or tiefling. I enjoy my civs with a magic edge and minotaur are so blandly bruisers.

After a darkness spread over your lands, your people decided to flee their homes to find a more suitable place to live. Many of you died on the road, and for years you traveled across the lands, shunned by most.

A few of days ago, a storm hit the land and you retreated into a cave. Closer inspection showed that it expanded into a whole system beyond. 50 Minotaurs decided to branch off and scout the tunnels, and in doing so, became terribly lost from the rest of the herd.

After days of searching, you gave up; fearing the rest of your herd abandoned you. You sit now within a huge cavern. Stalactites decorate the ceiling, and a pool of fresh water sits against he wall with a small tap bubbling from the rocks. The walls are lined with a luminous lichen, allowing decent sight; yet even without it your eyesight is likely to have adjusted to the gloominess of the caves.

There are 4 tunnels branching from this cavern, one of which - to the east, is too small for your bulky figures to squeeze through. You managed to lead a pair of Oxen down the caves with you, drawing along a ramshackle cart of supplies.

Population: 45 Steers (males), 5 Cows (females).
Livestock: 2 Oxen.
Food: 5 turns. (each Ox is worth 5 turns if you choose to slaughter them)
Supplies: Furs, Wood.
Architecture: None.
Weapons: Wooden Spears.
Tech: Basic Tools.

Defenses: None

is it a thing to continue someone else's civ?

5 Steers head down each of the tunnels that can accommodate them.

The North tunnel soon terminates in what looks like a cave in of rock. It may be possible one day to clear it, however you don't have the strength or tools for it at the moment.

The West tunnel spreads out into another cavern which seems to have a small shaft in the ceiling with apparent light visible, but it is t least 60ft up. The scouts here also note a glowing mineral innervating the walls of this cavern.

The scouts from the South tunnel report that they stretch on for a large distance, and that they uncovered signs of life before turning back; such as broken glass, stubs of torches and bones.

Basically how I feel about it, at least I'm trying to contribute. Running a civ is fucking time-consuming and tiring man, and I was doing it on the daily to generally good reception. If your going to bust my fucking balls over making a game, I want to ask what do you do that's so much better?
>>
>>42050427
You'll see it more in the archives than around here much anymore but yeah if OP vanishes and a regular wants to continue they can. OP can always Retcon later, but rarely do.

scavange for food; food that grows here and can be a steady food supply
>>
>>42050304
Feck off. I'd love to play tundra faerie once and I've been suggesting it for the past few days but the civ has already been decided, so shut up.
>>
>>42050443
>learn necromancy
>>
>>42050443
D) Set up a basic camp in the western cavern. We got light there, which might be extremely useful if we wish to cultivate plants.
>>
>>42050534
Perhaps necromancy is a bit heavy handed but if any of us show any predilection towards magics let's help them realize their potential anyway possible
>>
C) Research, check the glowing mineral. Find properties.

We need to tech a bit before battling/negotiating with whichever monster/civ is ahead uf us.
>>
>>42050494
2nd. We're gonna need food
>>
>>42050570
it's a small shaft, there will barely be light that hits the cave floor, and it will be a TINY area (a few square meters), not even enough to grow shit for one minotaur.

>>42050443
>E: breed

Change my vote to this.
I'm >>42050645, I forgot to namefag

2 x Look for food
2 x Set up camp
1 x Breed

I'll keep the vote open just a little longer before writing, If you have a vote, make sure there's a roll to accompany it.

>>42050682

Lets say the light in it's current state illuminates 10 square meters.
>>
>>42050653
We got 14 turns of food if we sacrifice both oxens. By that time we should have tech and exploration to gather food efficiently.
>>
if no one is going to make the fae civ, well
i never made a civ before, should i give it a try?
what lore should i use?

>>42050682
we should get a reliable source of food before increase our numbers
>>
Rolled 2 (1d2)

>>42050717
In the absence of more votes shall we roll?
1)Gather food
2)Set camp
>>
>>42050815

I already started writing food, but I'm already flipping a coin :)
>>
>>42050682
We also got the light from the glowing mineral, but I don't know how much that is. Also, a few square meters of direct sunlight also means that we can probably see as if it was aboveground. Also, we might eventually use the chute to get out of the cavern.

>>42050728
You mean the lore for the new civ, or the lore for fey in general?
>>
>>42050836
didn't there was a bright lichem in the caves?

fey

The Steers decide that gathering food is the next best course of action.

After a half-day, the Herd gather back at the home cavern. Aside from a few leathery bats, nothing was found in the Western cavern. The Cows who remained behind claim that they saw movement within the pool at the cave edge, and investigated it. Whatever lives within there soon fled from the great hairy beasts that came splashing in. However, the Cows found that a small passage a foot in diameter burrows into the bottom of the pool. Who knows where it leads?

The South tunnel Steers return with a small group of dog-sized beetle-like creatures that they managed to crush. They look like they are currently in a larval stage of maturation. Their flesh is foul to the taste, but it is nutritious enough.
+3 food.

It soon becomes apparent that a couple of Steers who went South have not returned. The rest claim that they all split into pairs to scavenge, and that they don't know what could have happened.

Population: 43 Steers (males), 5 Cows (females).
Livestock: 2 Oxen.
Food: 6 turns. (each Ox is worth 5 turns if you choose to slaughter them)

do we have the basic understanding of magic? geology and alchemy would be very useful.

We can only hope those steers are still alive.
>D) Build base, we need fortification in case something comes.
Then we can go for tech.
>>
>>42051101

You have the capacity to learn some magic, stemming from alchemy is the likeliest route. However you don't have the resources to start experimenting.

god, I finished fapping and this has not advanced...

The Steers migrate to the Western cavern. They begin to pitch up lengths of timber and drape them with furs to act as tepees.

Aside from the hole in the ceiling, there is only a single entrance to this room. The Minotaur use the spare wood, as well as a few loose stalagmites they manage to break free, to create a makeshift blockade.

Soon after, when the Steer are still establishing their tents; something begins to scramble against the defenses. The Steers take up arms and prepare to fight.

A single bloodied Steer clambers over the blockade. He has a cloven horn, and large gashes on his torso. Before the Cows manage to put him to rest and healing, he utters something about a great fanged creature that attacked him. He claims it killed the other Steer, before he managed to fend it off.

Population: 44 Steers (males), 5 Cows (females).
Livestock: 2 Oxen.
