You are ROY POWERS, a Vertical Tank Commander!

And before you know it, it's already the day of the tournament. Of course, the whole thing takes place in a field just outside of the King's castle, where things have already been set up similar to that of a town fair, except on a much larger scale. There were hundreds of wooden booths set up, adorned with colored flags bearing countless family and royal crests and insignia. And in between, thousands of attendees crowded the aisles, looking for new entertainments and things to buy.

And here you were sitting on top of Clementine, overlooking the festivities from the outside.

"I'm so booooooored." You groan.

"Well, we do need to prepare for the jousting tournament." Tarin points out, poking her head out from one of the maintenance hatches.

"Actually," Willem speaks up as he finishes helping polish up part of Clemintine's hull. "There's still quite a bit of time before the tournament proper starts. They're going to allow the crowds to publicly view the steeds, first. You're free to go about the fairgrounds as you wish. Perhaps maybe view some of the other events?

"Oh right, aren't Axel and Alfie performing in the foot duels?"

"Oh yeah, that's right!" You nod.

"We should go see how Axel and Alfie are doing." You say, jumping down from Clementine."

"Yeah. I'm a bit worried about them, to tell the truth." Tarin nods as she follows you down.

"Willem, keep an eye on our VTs, yeah?" You say to the young squire.

"Of course!" He nods. "I'll await your return!"

As the two of you head for the main fairgrounds, you pass by Bannon and Parker. Bannon moves to intercept the both of you, but you see Parker put a hand on his shoulder with a calming smile, which seems to convince your CO to let you pass. You and Tarin give him a respectful salute before continuing on.

Getting to the dueling ring was particularly tough. Since it was one of the first events of the day, the place was practically packed. Thankfully, Tarin manages to weave a path through the mass of bodies, leading you to a fairly decent front row area where you could look down in a small gladiatorial style arena. There, you could see two men in full plate going at it. Both men wielding massive two handed swords. From what Willem had told you, all weapons in the dueling arena were blunted for safety, and full plate armor was required. However, that didn't mean things were going to be painless. Far from it, really.

Off to the side, you could see a small ready area where the other fighters were getting prepared, either checking their armor or drilling with their weapons to prepare. You then spotted Axel and Alfie among them.

You find your eyes drawn to the the current duel. You see the two knights slowly circle the field, glaring at each other under, as if waiting for the other to make the first move. You also notice, against your previous conceptions, that both knights seemed to be wearing very little in the way of ornamentation. At most, the two knights were wearing brightly colored tabards so you could at least tell who was who.

Yellow tabard makes the first move, charging forward with his longsword held over his head for a powerful downward strike. Red Tabard raises his own sword in a high guard, blocking the strike with a loud metallic clash before using his armored boot to push his attacker away, regaining some breathing space. The crowd cheers at the repelled attack.

"Looks almost real." You note.

"Almost." Tarin says simply.

With the initiative in his hands now, Red Tabard charges forward, reading for a high strike of his own. Yellow Tabard makes the appropriate guard move, but Red Tabard instead feints, pulling his sword back and going for a low horizontal sweep instead, slamming the blade right into the side of Yellow Tabard's chestplate.

A bell rings as the crowd's cheers grow louder, and you see a referee slot a red flag into a scoreboard. You recall Willem telling you that a duel was won when a duelist scored ten hits on his opponent.

With the hit scored, both knights back off as the reset their positions, though you notice Yellow Tabard was now a bit more sluggish. Even the hits were not meant to be lethal, you could tell that they still inflicted a toll.

"Come on, Roy, are you just going to watch this all day?" Tarin asks, tugging at your sleeve. "We're going to miss Axel and Alfie at this rate."

Haven't tried it myself, but one of my WoT-addict buddies absolutely loves Armored Warfare. I'm interested only because Obsidian is behind it, and I really enjoyed Fallout New Vegas. Yes, there's no connection between the two games aside from the dev studio, but it's still a good indicator in my book.

You head over to the ready area. The guards eye you warily, but you and Tarin flash your ID badges, showing you as tournament participants, and they wordlessly stand aside and let you pass. The two of you the head over to where Axel and Alfie are getting ready. Axel looks pumped and confident, polishing off a sword while Alfie is sweating profusely from stress. It was a funny thing, actually. None of you had ever imagined that Alfie would possess strength and reflexes that could rival Axel's, but after a few practice spars that left Willem knocked on his ass, everybody figured there was no harm in letter her compete alongside her brother. You kind of wonder just what the hell kind of bloodline the twins came from to warrant so much strength and energy.

"Hey, Axel, Alfie, how are you two doing?" You ask.

"Doing great!" Axel grins. "Already saw a few fights before this one and I'm mega pumped!"

"Are you now?" You chuckle and glance over to Alfie. "And you, Alfie?"

"O-of course not!" She wails.

"Well, we all find our calling in something." You say in an attempt to motivate her. "Maybe knocking knights on their ass in hand to hand combat is yours!"

"You're n-not helping." She pouts.

"So, do you know who your next opponent is?" Tarin asks.

"Oh yeah, that guy there." Axel points across the prep area to a mountain of a man, clad in black armor. "One of the Reikland guys. Looks like a real big guy."

"That's a huuuuuge understatement." You frown. You're surprised a giant like that could even fit in a VT. "What are you gonna use against him?"

"Well, that's sorta the question." Axel frowns. "Sword and board gives me the most speed a mobility, with a bit of protection as well, but I might have to use a mace or warhammer or something to put a dent in that guy, but that shit is heavy. Or I could run longsword if I want to go in the middle."

"Maybe the sword and board will be preferable." You suggest. "That shield will let you stand your ground, and the short sword should be quick enough to get past his guard. All you need is to hit him, right?"

"Yeah, the problem is that part of these duels, I've learned, is that HOW you hit your opponent is just as much a big deal." Axel points

You look back at the dueling ground, where you see that both knights were now moving much more sluggish than before. Red Tabard was now trying to onehand his longsword, while Yellow Tabard was moving with a slight limp.

"You still feel the hits, especially from the heavier weapons. Don't think this guy is gonna feel the love taps from this." Axel points out.

"But you've got both defense and mobility. That will count for a lot." Tarin points out.

"Yeah, yeah, I think you're right." Axel nods. "Anything else to suggest?"

You glance back at the Reik knight, who chooses to pick up a rather ugly looking mace.

"Just focus on counterattacks, he needs to commit to his swings." You suggest.

"Yeah, yeah, I can see that happening." Axel nods.

Finally, the current duel ends with a loud clang and cheer. You turn your attention back to the dueling grounds, where an armored referee raises Red Tabard's arm in victory.

"LORD CANTER IS VICTORIOUS!" The referee bellows amid the cheers. Meanwhile, a team of squires drags Yellow Tabard away, presumably for medical treatment. "The next fighters shall be Lords Axel and Thuringen!"

The black knight, Thuringen, stands up and marches to the dueling grounds as the crowd's cheers grow louder. This was the main event for the duels, after all.

"All right, Axel, game face!" Axel says to himself as he slaps his own cheeks to get himself pumped up before putting on his helmet.

"Go get him!" You say encouragingly as you pat him on the back of his chestplate.

"Don't die." Tarin says in her usual bluntness.

"B-be careful!" Alfie calls out.

Axel gives a thumbs up as he strides out confidently into the field, soaking in the cheers and praise.

"He's really liking this, isn't he?" You mumble.

"Apparently." Tarin nods.

Truth be told, if there was anybody in your platoon who'd fit right into a downright medieval society like this, it would be Axel. You figure his very direct methods of solving issues with violence would have him fit right in here.

After the referee confirms that both sides are ready, he raises and and chops it down, signifying the duel has been started.

Almost immediately, Thuringen charges forward, swinging his mace in a devastating overhead blow. Axel immediately rolls out of the way, and chops down with his sword, striking the massive man in his forearm. A bell rings and a green flag is put up. Just 9 more to go.

"Hah, you're not so tough!" Axel boasts.

"Oh no, that idiot." Alfie shakes her head when a swipe of the mace nearly strikes her brother in the head, causing to fall on his back with a yelp. He's only barely able to hold off Thuringen's follow up strike, bringing up his shield to block another downward blow while his sword arm trusts out, the point bouncing off the larger knight's shoulderplate. There's another ring, and the referee scrambles in to reset the fighter's positions.

"That's not good." Tarin points to Axel's shield arm, which was now hanging much looser than before. That hit he took may not have scored a point, but it certainly dealt damage.

All you can do is keep watching as the fight continues on. Axel does his best to keep dodging Thuringen's attacks, but the monster of a man doesn't seem to tire at all, as he ceaselessly keeps swinging his mace around. Axel manages to get a few more hits in, but it's all he can manage to avoid getting hit, though Thuringen manages to get a few lucky grazes in as Axel starts to lose his stamina and his dodges subsequently become slower.

Finally, after yet another swing, Axel lunges in with a quick two hit combo. The referees would count any hit landed before the bell rings, after all, but Thuringen responds with an extremely quick counterstrike, swinging his mace up and striking Axel in the left armpit.

"No!" You hear Alfie gasp as Axel grunts in pain, dropping his shield to the ground.

You glance at the scoreboard. Axel has nine flags to Thuringen's four. All he needed was one last hit-

And with one loud CLANG, you see Axel's shortsword go flying out of his hands as he barely manages to parry Thuringen's mace. He's saved from being hit, but now he was left exposed, with one good arm and one injured one, his sword and shield both laying an equal distance away from him in opposite directions. Maybe, just maybe...

All he really needs to do is get in close, when he goes for a swing dip low, pull a 180 and bring his elbow into the back of the big guy's knee. When he stumbles he can just punch him in the back of the head.

Of course, easy to say, hard to do.

Thuringen brings his mace crashing down. However, despite this, Axel charges forward, rolling under the massive knight's swing as his mace hits the dirt with a thud and making a crater, but completely missing its intended target. Now underneath the Reikland knight, Axel balls his good hand in a fist and initiates a crushing uppercut...

...directly into Thuringen's crotchplate.

You're pretty sure the collective wincing in the crowd wasn't from the loud CLANG that rings out. Thuringen himself stumbles backwards in shock as well, losing his grip on his mace in the process.

Meanwhile, up in the referee area, you see the officials huddled together, no doubt debating on whether the hit was genuine or not. Finally, it seems they come to a consensus and one of the referees nervously walks up to the front.

"The winner is, LORD AXEL!" The official announces.

The crowd then bursts into applause. Thuringen tenses up before stomping towards the referees, no doubt to try and contest their decision. You wryly note a slight limp to his steps that wasn't there before.

"That was certainly an... unconventional attack." One of the nearby knights remarks.

"Well, the rules for dueling have always been rather liberal." Another one shrugs.

"Oh thank goodness..." Alfie sighs in relief, deflating like a balloon.

"See? What did I tell you? Piece of cake!" Axel says happily as he slings his helmet off.

"Really?" Tarin punches Axel's arm lightly.

"Owowowowowow!" Axel seethes.

"Yeah, you should go see the medics about that." You shake your head.

"I'd love to, but Alfie's up next!" Axel frowns. "I gotta be there for her!"

"I think we've also overstayed our welcome here." Tarin says. "The tournament will be starting soon. It'll be our last chance to view the rest of the fair before then."

"Hey Alfie, are you sure you're gonna be all right?" You ask, turning to her.

"Y-yeah, I think so!" Alfie nods. "I already got my weapons and everything!"

"Behind those shields?" You ask, pointing to the weapon rack behind her.

"Nuh uh." Alfie shakes her head. "Those are my weapons."

"Wait..." You frown. "You're using... two shields?"

"I can't?" Alfie asks curiously.

"I think you're taking the term 'shieldmaiden' a bit too literally..." Tarin frowns.

"And SHE'S the one who's always overly literal." You point a thumb to Tarin.

"I actually think it's kinda cute." Axel chuckles. "Then again, that would be lives weren't on the line here."

"Well, it's your choice." You shrug.

"T-thanks" Alfie smiles.

"For the next match, we present LADY ALFIE AND LORD ORSEL!" The referee announces.

"Alfie, you're up!" Axel cries. "Go go!"

Alfie quickly grabs her two shields and makes for the dueling grounds when Axel stops her.

"Wait a second Sis, you nearly forgot something." Axel picks up Alfie's helmet with one hand and plops it over her head, and then gives it a pat. "There, good to go!"

"Thanks!" Alfie says happily as she trots off to the dueling grounds.

It was so sickeningly sweet you just couldn't say anything.

This Lord Orsel seemed to be a bit more normal than Thuringen. He wasn't mountain huge like Axel's opponent, and seemed to be armed with a longsword rather than a mace. That was a good sign, considering it wouldn't be as good getting past a shield as a mace would be. Orsel seems to cock his head curiously at the sight, similarly taken aback at Alfie's choice (or lack) of armament.

"You know, I get the crazy feeling that this might just work." Tarin frowns.

"I know, right?" You shake your head.

"Shhh!" Axel hisses.

Orsel starts off on the offensive, hacking away at Alfie with his longsword. However, Alfie merely stands her ground, deflecting Orsel's blows away with her shields. And since she had two of them, there was no way for Orsel to get past her guard.

But then again, there wouldn't be any way for Alfie to retalia-

And suddenly, Alfie swings one of her shields out, the edge connecting against Orsel's helmet and sending the knight staggering to the side. The bell is rung and a flag is planted."

"Oh wow." You blink.

"Guess she did find her calling." Tarin notes.

"Ohmygosh I'm so sorry! Did that h-hurt?" Alfie whimpers.

"DON'T APOLOGIZE TO 'EM, ALF! KICK HIS ASS!"

Orsel shakes his head to regain his senses, and once again charges, inflicting a flurry of attacks on the poor girl. This time, she has trouble defending as Orsel tries to find new angles of attack, alternating between low and high angles of attack.

"Please stop!" Alfie cries. "I don't really want to be doing this!"

"A duel only ends in one way!" Orsel grunts. "Death!"

"What? No!" Alfie's helmet shakes violently.

"Prepare yourself, cowardly wench!" Orsel bellows as he continues his attacks!"

"HEY! SAY THAT AGAIN! I DARE YA!" Axel snarls as you and Tarin hold him back.

"Please stop! Please stop please stop pleasestoppleasestoppleastop!!!!"

Finally, Orsel presents an opening to himself, when one of his strikes rebounds off one of Alfie's shields. She then brings both shields up and slams them together like a pair of scissors, catching Orsel's helmet in between both edges, and actually crumpling it in. Orsel's legs crumple and he drops to the ground like a rock. The referee dashes into the ring to check on Orsel before standing up and raising one of Alfie's arms.

"LADY ALFIE IS THE VICTOR!"

"Huh." Tarin says simply.

"YEAH!" Axel whoops.

"You're not bothered Alfie did better than you?" You ask.

"Should I be? She's my little sis, after all!" Axel laughs happily.

"Roy." Tarin taps you on the shoulder and shows you her watch. "Time's up. We'd better be getting back."

"Oh crap!" You gasp. "Hey, Axel, we gotta go-"

"Don't worry, we can handle things from here." Axel grins. "Better to and fucking win!"

Dunno, but here's some interesting reading... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benita_von_Falkenhayn

>"Benita Ursula von Falkenhayn, maiden name von Zollikofer-Altenklingen (14 August 1900 – 18 February 1935) was a German baroness who served as a spy for the Second Polish Republic."

The poor baroness fed the Poles some of the best intel about Germany's planned blitzkreig, and her reward was the headsman's axe. Adolf Hitler even blocked her attempt to marry her Polish handler, which might have extended his diplomatic immunity to her and spared her life. Here's hoping that Hess doesn't wind up kneeling before the headsman's block...

"Hmmmmm." You narrow your eyes as you gaze at Gregor's VT. You notice that the "Panther" had noticeably thicker armor than that of the Lynx. The legs were a lot thicker, indicating larger leg joints and hydraulics. The long barrel 75mm looked to be pretty nasty, too. Probably harder hitting than the regular 75 the Lynxes sported. However, other than that, there wasn't anything else you could really glean from the VT.

"Uhhhh, it's bigger and faster is all I can really tell." You observe.

"Of course." Tarin nods.

"Well, that's what you'd expect from a new model." Rock shrugs. "You guys better get ready."

You and Tarin head over to the waiting Clementine and board her while Lord Artois' squires mount the lance to its side. Tarin does the routine systems check as she starts up the engine, while you inspect all of the optics and controls from the commander's seat.

"All right, we're ready to go!" Willem announces as he stands in front of your VT, waving a flag to get your attention. "Let's move forward to the jousting field!"

You head for the jousting field, which is situated in the middle of a massive stadium, seemingly purpose built for this sport. You find yourself surrounded by thousands of cheer onlookers, all of them waving various colored flags and throwing confetti down. Squires swarm around Clementine's feet, making sure the field was free of debris, as well as stocking spare lances for refit. On the opposite end of the field stood Gregor' Panther, dark and imposing as any Reiklander machine.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" The announcer bellows. "FOR THE MAIN EVENT, the TILEAN STEED 'CLEMENTINE' SHOW NOW BATTLE AGANST THE REIKLAND STEED 'EQUUS!'"

The roaring of the crowd grows ever louder.

"So what's the play here, Roy?" Tarin asks as she watches through the driver's viewport. "Do we play it safe and go for the lance hit or do we try to knock this bastard over?"

"Got it." Tarin nods. "High risk high reward, huh?"

"You know it." You grin. "Let's go! Full speed!"

"Roger that." Tarin says as she opens up the throttle. The engine roars and rumbles, with only the brake keeping Clementine restrained. Across the way, you see Equus similarly rumble and shake as thick black smoke belches from its exhausts.

One squire carrying a large red flag then jogs over to the center of the jousting field, and holds the flag high over his head. The entire stadium suddenly goes quiet for a brief second.

And then the squire swings the flag down.

Your VTs charge forward at full gallop. You note that despite its larger bulk, the Panther was terrifyingly fast. However, Tarin doesn't seem phased at all and keeps Clementine moving forward at full gallop as well. It's up to you to aim the lance. However, you don't want to give away your plan so you keep the lance pointing straight ahead until the very last second, when you swing the upper body around and tilt the lance down.

Both of your VTs strike each other at the same time. The Equus scores a solid hit against the side of Clementine, shaking the whole VT and sending it tottering briefly, but Tarin is able to keep its footing.

Meanwhile, your own lance drives straight into the Equus' leg joint. There's a loud, ugly squealing sound as the wooden tip jams into the joint, causing the Equus' knee to buckle as ruptured hydraulic lines spurt oil and coolant everywhere. The lance then snaps as expected and Clementine continues forward.

There's a loud roar of cheering, loud enough that it even overwhelms Clementine's engines.

"Tarin! Full stop! FULL STOP!" You yell.

"Stopping!" Tarin announces as she slams on the brakes, bringing Clementine to a screeching halt.

You then pop open your hatch and look out behind yourself, and nearly gasp at what you see.

Gregor's mighty Equus... is down.

"Well shit, that actually worked!" You blink, completely surprised.

"You didn't think otherwise?" Tarin blinks.

"Uhhh, no." You admit.

"Honestly." Tarin shakes her head.

"Excellent, excellent!" Hess claps excitedly as she strides in on her own VT, a Panther similar to Gregor's Equus. "To defeat Gregor with such a decisive blow shows you do indeed have skill!"

You glance back at the downed Equus, where a very angry Gregor kicks open the hatch and glares at you, and then his crew. Surprisingly enough, despite the rough fall, Gregor wasn't even disheveled or roughed at all.

"It's such a pity that we could not face each other today!" Hess shakes her head. "But I vill make a grand show against your comrades!"

"You'll understand if i don't wish you good luck." You sigh. "But I already know you have great courage, Von Hess. I cannot wish you good fortune against my comrades, but I do look forward to seeing your warrior spirit on display today!"

You see Hess taken aback a bit before smiling brightly.

"Oh dear, I never expected such praise!" She giggles.

"Master Roy! You must leave to make space for the next battle!" Willem calls out from below.

"Oh, right!" You nod and glance back down the hatch. "Tarin, get us out of here!"

"Roger that." Tarin says, giving you a suspicious look.

"Hey, what else was I supposed to say to her?" You groan.

"Fine." Tarin pouts and returns to the controls.

"Well, that's a good job." Willem smiles as Tarin parks Clementine back at the rally position. "Me and the squires will handle the maintenance. That shall be your last battle for the day, so feel free to do what you like!"

"Huh, okay." You nod and look around. "Hey, where did Bannon and Parker go?"

"Oh, the two of them decide to go tour the fair." Willem shrugs.

Hm, that was interesting...

"So what do we do?" Tarin asks.

"Well, we watch the joust, of course." You say.

"All right." Tarin nods.

Atop Clementine, you and Tarin have an excellent view of the jousting grounds. You watch Rock and Alex's VT take position opposite from Hess's Panther. Green vs. black, like last time. However, you already note differences between Gregor's Panther and Hess'. You guess it was customizable like the Wolverines were?

Also, this episode was running much longer than Merc's threads usually do. Not a bad thing at all, but it may lead to sleep deprivation for some participants.

Merc: Will we need to re-roll this fight between Rock and Hess when the quest starts back up next week?

Merc, I'd just like to mention one area which you could improve upon. Give us choices that really matter. For example, earlier in the thread we were given the choice of watching or not watching the fight between two random knights. I don't think that choice was a very important one. You could have skipped the voting for that and just described the fight. It saves time overall.
>>
>>42050200
So how impressed is Hess with us know that we beat her caretaker?

Or is Hess stronger then Gregor in VTs?

Also Tarin seems more emotional in VT then her other incarnations, also why does she feel threaten by Hess?

Yo Merc, two questions: first, if you ever get around to running your shipslut quest, will the emphasis be on American ships, Brtitish ships, Japanese ships, Russian ships, or German ships?

Second, just how many quest ideas do you have lined up, exactly?

Oh, the focus is going to be on American ships, with a little foreign flavor thrown in. Of course, this is not going to be the same setting as Planefag's quest!

I eagerly await the day you get drunk and start 27 different quest threads at once, half of which you would have just come up with on the spot - all somehow continually updated in a regular cycle until you eventually run out of booze, some two days later.

Actually, why not do that while sober as well?

Is there even space in the VT? Tanks aren't exactly spacious, even for short people.

Come to think of it, do we have rough heights for the characters in this quest? If it's been stated before, I can't recall right now.

>>
>>42051214
Can you at least confirm whether Roy is taller or shorter than Tarin? And also who best shipgirl is?

>>42051309
Height is really only a factor once you have to start bending over because your head's hitting the ceiling, but a tank's interior is generally too cramped for more than one person to move around, with the exception of the loader's compartment.

The top of the tank is fine, though, instead bringing up the problems of privacy, miscellaneous bolts jutting out of the turret and hull, and falling off the damn tank itself if you're particularly incautious.

I enjoyed fury good popcorn movie.

Though you say she's a girl at heart kind of lacks the common sense of one compare which is surprising since she might have learned some of that when living in Roy's parents
>>
>>42051615
The film opens with a German soldier surveying the remains of a battlefield - still alive to by his allies' most recent knowledge - getting ambushed by Wardaddy - in a tank whose radio only breaks later in the movie as far as I remember. Alright. That's fine.

And then artillery hits.

So, either someone is being retarded and hitting an empty battlefield with artillery fire, or someone is being retarded and hitting an area with known allied units and basically no enemies with artillery fire. That's a real good way to open the movie, isn't it?

Apart from that, the dinner scene was too long, the Tiger fight was retarded (I might add that, since crews were supposed to outlast their tanks, and the film was set their the end of WWII, these crews SHOULD have been somewhat experienced) and also too short for how much the Tiger was hyped up, and the obligatory Hollywood-style final battle was out of place with the rest of the movie and even more retarded for many reasons I will not go into.

I suppose the tone was good enough for a war movie, but the actual events on screen really rubbed me the wrong way.

Ah, good to see this thread is still up.

Merc, I wanted to say thanks for running. Your quests, especially this one, are well worth only getting four-to-five hours of sleep for! You do a really good job of writing interesting characters and providing thought-provoking situations for the readers to work through.

I do agree with >>42050369 though. Sometimes the choices and options available to us do not feel like they have enough impact. For instance, choosing what to say to Hess was a good decision-option. Especially since the readers were able to rally together and come up with something cool to say to her! However, I did keep expecting the fight between the two knights to have some impact on the rest of the story. It did set the tone for Axel and Alfie's fights, but since the twins were using such wildly different techniques and gear it sorta felt out of place.

However, I did enjoy the "modern madness goes to the Renaissance Fair" of Axel groinpunching his opponent, and Alfie skull-squishing (hopefully in a non-fatal way, but you never know...) hers!

Overall, this was a really fun installment, and I look forward to seeing Hess' battle next week. On that note, will we need to re-roll or will you use the already-rolled numbers and pick up right where the action stopped?

That's not the issue here. The point is votes that simply have no real point to them. Ask yourself if a vote even needs to be there. Does it add anything to the story? If not, it's just slowing down the quest.

Sometimes, decisions aren't "important" in the fact that they don't involve life or death decisions. Sometimes they can be about little things like some extra worldbuilding if you so wish to stop by and take a look.

See, this is fine. Not every decision point has to be life-changing dramas.
