You look at Sayaka and shake your head. You know your sempai more than anyone. Even if she's already turned into the thing that Kyuubey accuses her of being, you know she would never give in to that side of her.. She'd kill herself first - and she nearly did, back at Siberia.

The blue-haired Eversor doesn't seem to be convinced. "...Look, Hanegawa--no, Midori. I want to trust your word on this, I really do, but what if you're wrong? What if Murderface IS gone, and what little common sense you're making this decision with is compromised by your feelings for her?"

You feel yourself go cold at this, and make to reply -- that is, until Kyoko speaks up again. This time putting her hand on Sayaka's arm. "Sayaka, I love ya and everything, but sometimes I wonder if I'm really the dumb meathead Eversor in this gig."

She grins toothily here, before giving the Acting Warmaster's shoulder a squeeze. "Midorin knows what she's doin'. Things look dicey at the moment, sure, but when Murderface's involved, I'll trust Broccolihead over whatever our mutant cat boss is flappin' his gums around with."

You smile in thanks at Kyoko's vote of confidence, before turning to Sayaka. ...Alright, sure. You're not going to deny that you may be 'emotionally compromised'. And yes, there's a good chance you're wrong about this. You don't have all the facts, after all, only what you know right now.

"Yes, that's what I'm talking about--" The blue-haired Eversor says, but you raise a hand to interrupt her. Signaling that you're not done just yet.

Consider, then, that you actually are wrong, and what Sayaka is saying is true - that your sempai is in fact truly and utterly gone, replaced by the monster that's got Kyuubey spooked.

It's pretty much a guarantee, then, that Regalia won't be able to hold her for long. That means everyone - not just you, not just the entire Officio, but everyone in the world - is fucked no matter what they do. With that kind of alternative, then isn't doing something - anything, basically - worth doing now?

You can either try this and risk dying for something, or everyone here can stand by and die for nothing.

Silence as Sayaka stares at you once more, before slowly letting out another sigh. "...Christ. Alright. If this is the best you think we can do, then let's do it." She rakes her fingers through her hair once more, and you get the impression that she's still struggling to take this all in. "You guys are pulling this off tonight, right? I probably can't help out any more than I already have, but is there anything else you need squared away so this goes as smoothly as it can?"

Is there anything you need help with?

How do you respond?

Doubt there's anything Sayaka or Kyouko could do that could actually make a difference at this point.

Open the Vault door, take a look around as if checking to make sure that all of the Golden Weapons are still there, then leave.

Midori and Wendy will go in at the same time, under cloak, grab the DEagle when Sayaka turns to leave, and exit at the same time as she does.

That way, if QB checks up on why the Golden Vault is being accessed, Sayaka has an alibi, and Midori and Wendy will be the only ones blamed.
>>
>>41908745
>[X]Actually, there is. (Write-in)
Ecstasy Darks. She is the only one who could throw off this entire operation. If she could be conveniently away from her post to give a report or something, that would give us the window we need to get into regalia.
>>
OK, we have sorted:
>Keycard for the Golden Weapon vault from Sayaka (willingly)
>Distracting Heartcatch Squad (Enishi)
We need a way to get the Golden Deagle from the vault to Regalia unnoticed.
If Sayaka or Kyouko can keep QB distracted for a few minutes, that should be enough.
>Captcha: select all images that are pancakes
>>
>>41908797
This makes no sense. If Sayaka's seen entering the Vault at any point today, then it would be naturally suspicious, seeing as 2 Callidus MGs performed the heist.

Who's to say she wasn't in on it? An alibi would involve being somewhere where others could confirm her presence when the heist happens. The card going missing is much more easily explained than Sayaka's presence in the GW vault.
>>
>>41908745
>[x]Actually, there is. (Write-in)
We need information on the alarms and other security measures that guard the vault and regalia.
>>

Heart squad girls will be handled by Enishi, if you think any rookie Eversor will see through her tricks, then she's not deserving of her rank, at all.

>>
>>41908853
Wendy already scoped those out, and Sayaka has no reason to access any more info than that without it being suspicious. Gebuz people, did you even read the previous threads?
>>
>>41908874
Those orders are already in effect courtesy of QB, since he doesn't want people finding out about the Chiaki thing, or getting fucked by golden shit. Wth people?
>>
>>41908745
>[X]I think we have everything handled. We just need to pull it off.
>>
>>41908882
Did you read the previous threads? Wendy can see the cameras and stuff but an alarm that would be triggered by opening the vault or silentroom door? How would she know about that?
>>
>>41908923
If we got that full on paranoid, QB would also ensure that any search on the GW's security would be recorded as well, so just looking for that info would blow our cover.

That said, there's no indication that entrance to the vault with the Warmaster's card was ever monitored. That might have changed with Chiaki's current situation, but somehow I doubt that QB thinks she'd bother sneaking in there if she goes nuts.

Info on Regalia might be useful, but it's debatable if there's any to be had, or if Sayaka can get to any of it in the first place, at least not in a useful timeframe.

>>

No orders will change that lol. Seeing as there are already a set of orders to that effect from QB, anything Sayaka can do or say won't change anything. If someone will be wandering around where they shouldn't they'll do it regardless of any extra measures.
>>
>>41908797
This doesn't work with our plan to assert that we swiped the card from Sayaka, and it's conceivable that it fucks us over if you need the card to get out as well as in. I can't support this plan, although it did initially sound quite clever.

Anons, as someone very new on 4chan who have discovered this quest recently, I want to ask: why the people is so abrassive? There are times when two persons can have a pacific discussion, exchanging ideas. But normally, when someone post something, the answer of the person who disagrees is full of insults, like "retard", "get out", "autistic moron" and worse things. And of course, the first poster responds with the same fury. Why can't we be respectful with each other, even if you don't agree with what other person is posting?

That would be true if we were going to leave after Sayaka, but the idea was to leave with her.

And yes, it does require changing the plan, from asserting that we swiped the card from her, to Midori and Wendy taking advantage of Sayaka checking up on the Vault.

Though, since Sayaka doesn't have a known regular schedule of checking on the Golden Weapons, there would need to be a further lie that Midori had asked Sayaka to check the Vault since it's been documented before that Golden Weapons can disappear from the Vault and appear with Chiaki of their own accord.

I suppose it's a question of which is more believable: that Midori could swipe a card from Sayaka, the Eversor Rank Leader, or that Midori could use social engineering to get Sayaka to open the door for her.

As someone who was new like you and has been around here for enough time, let me tell you my history: when I first arrived here, I knew some disturbing stories about the place. I thought that it couldn't be that bad, that not everyone is like that. At first, everything went fine: occasionally someone appeared with insults, making me think "what an asshole". The more I spent time in 4chan, the more I realized that EVERYONE was like that. I wasn't too preocupied: I was polite and educated all the time, trying to make ingenious jokes and clever posts, and never needed to put myself at the same level as the rest of the people who acted like chimpanzees with Down syndrome full on cocaine. I was superior to them. Then, the insults were directed at me for some reason or another. That really angered me. I couldn't help but answer back in the same way, even if only by spite. Little by little, I changed my mind: it was easier to jump at the minimal chance instead of maintaining composture, and easier to make absurd and stupid jokes instead of well-thought arguments. And before I realized it, I had changed, to never return to my previous self. Now I am one OF them, I am WITH them! Long lost are my hope and dreams, only to be replaced with stupidity, mental retardation and unuseful things in my life that consume all my time. It is too late to do anything now, except fall deeper in this hellhole. I don't know you: you can be destined to be the new Poe, the new Socrates or the new Newton. If that's the case, abandon this place now, because you will shut the door to that brilliant future if you stay here and will become a walking waste of oxygen. Remember, anon: there is no scape once you enter; you are here FOREVER!

Serious answer: that's more or less the culture on all boards on the 4chins. Insults aren't actually insults here, no matter how heated it may seem. It doesn't really mean anything; even in this quest, people are not nearly as angry about stuff as they appear to be while posting.
>>
>>41909209
Because of the very tight timeframe we have during votes, ideas and votes must be attacked, criticised, and torn down in as quick and effective manner as possible.
There is neither the time nor the margin for error that the compromises and politeness for social cohesiveness require.
We are here to make the right choice (defined as getting us closer to a majority goal), regardless of how many feelings are hurt in the process, than the wrong choice which doesn't hurt people's feelings.

Do not EVER fall into the shoddy mental trap of thinking the board is a true hivemind. Sometimes, no matter what you say and how you say it, you will still be called a faggot and have your post declared objectively incorrect even though the topic is purely subjective.

Don't be a retard and think that "the board can't make up its mind". The board is not "a single mind"; the person who call "you're waifu/favorite vidya a shit" isn't the same one who might call an other cartoon girl/video game shit.

You think for a moment before shaking your head. ...No, you think you've got everything handled. All that's left is to basically pull it off without everything going completely - as Sayaka herself put it - ass-upwards. Besides, you don't want to involve Sayaka more than she already is right now, or have her abuse her Acting Warmaster status too much, since you are trying to minimize the fallout that this clearly unsanctioned operation would inevitably cause.

"...Yeah. That's...yeah." Sayaka is clearly having trouble finding words here, still obviously struggling with the idea of such wanton, premeditated insubordination. But just as you expect her to change her mind, to suddenly go back on her words and report this to Kyuubey - she instead simply makes to leave the room, giving Kyoko a quick peck on the cheek and then patting you briskly on the shoulder on her way out. "Good luck, Midorin. I'm...well, everyone is counting on you, so...don't fuck it up."

You manage to force a smile here as the blue-haired Eversor finally leaves, taking with her the barrier that had muffled everything said inside the room from the outside world. A sigh of relief leaving your own lips as the door clicks shut, leaving you alone with your sempai's still-recovering best friend.

"...Don't think of her too badly, yeah, Midorin?" Kyoko speaks up after a moment, and you turn to see her cracking open another box of chocolate-covered breadsticks, an apologetic smile curling her lips. "Sayaka's always been a straight shooter ever since she contracted. Bought everything Kyuubey told her so hard he had to tell her to take it down a couple notches." She chuckles here, before crunching down on a particularly tasty-looking stick with so much gusto that you feel like joining in with the indiscriminate snacking. "Something like this ain't easy for her."

[1/2]
>>
>>41910134

Well, you understand that, but...surely she's broken a couple of rules before, right? Everybody does so sooner or later. No one's that much of a stickler to the rules--

The red-haired Eversor grins here, before shaking her head. "Yer underestimatin' just how huge the stick in her, ah, ass is, Midorin." Kyoko goes briefly red at the expression, before continuing. "Fact is, the handful of times she ever got into trouble was because she was followin' orders a bit TOO hard, if you get what I'm sayin'. 'Course she mellowed out a lot after that, but...yeah." She shrugs. "Don't worry about her givin' the game away or anything, though. The one thing Sayaka hates more than breaking rules is going back on her word. 'Specially when it's this important."

You nod at Kyoko, before turning back to the door where the Acting Warmaster had left from.

...Yeah. You hope so.

Anyway. It looks like you have everything ready. You just need to decide just when to pull this off.

You decide to pull off the operation in the evening, right around the time when most of the Officio would be having dinner, either in the communal cafeteria or in their own quarters. Sure, you'll have a smaller time window to pull everything off, and there's a higher chance of someone inadvertently stumbling into the proceedings, either a straggler or someone simply walking dinner off - but it's also the only other time at night when most of the Officio would be legitimately occupied, along with the rest of Heartcatch Squad. Whatever Enishi plans to do about the color-coded eversors, it'll probably work better while they're still eating their meal in preparation for the long night ahead.

You spend the rest of the day, then, quickly and discreetly coordinating with Enishi and Wendy as well as gearing up for the operation itself. Getting Enishi up to speed was easy - all she needed was the time in which you needed Heartcatch Squad distracted, and immediately declared herself ready to strike at your signal. Wendy was a bit trickier - not that she needed any special instructions or anything like that, just that she seemed adamant that you also ascribe to her own idea of, well, being prepared.

You understand bringing along a knife, and maybe a silenced pistol loaded with tranquilizer rounds strong enough to knock an Eversor out. You also get the deal with the mask. But you're not too sure what bringing along a, a laser sword and a bandolier of grenades would help in a stealthy undertaking like this. Wendy had grumbled and insisted that it was 'just in case', but you simply wouldn't have it. In the end, you took an extra knife and the pistol, as well as the mask she wouldn't budge on.

It's a plain white fox mask, almost like the ones they sell in festivals, but made out of something much tougher and hardier than simple paper pulp or porcelain. How it fits onto your face is also unexpectedly intricate and high-end as well, with proper harness straps that buckle across the back of your head rather than simple string around the back of your ears. A brief comparison with Wendy's own mask, and you see that yours is an exact mirror of hers - except where hers is sculpted as to be grinning mischieviously, yours has a more somber, melancholic expression, almost to the point of dourness.

You waited for evening in your own quarters, with Wendy sent ahead to scope out the vault in advance. As soon as the call for dinner came over the public announcement system, you let exactly ten minutes pass, before finally moving out on your own. Closing and locking your quarters' door behind you, but not before taking one last look at your own bed.

...This is it, you thought. There's no going back after this. Whatever happens after tonight, win or lose...well, no one can say you didn't try.

Leaving your quarters, you start to make your way to the vault. The corridors are relatively deserted, with a few stragglers here and there making their way back to their quarters, takeout and food trays balanced carefully on their hands. You deliberately walk slowly, unhurriedly, picking the longer and less-walked routes rather than the direct (and oftentimes the most congested) ones. This goes just like you planned it, and you immediately get to the same floor the vault is in without anyone so much as spotting you or greeting you.

[2/3]
>>
>>41911758

The next turn brings you as close to the vault as you possibly can be without actually being in front of it. But instead of taking those last few steps to cross that distance, you instead walk a bit past it, towards a spot in the adjacent corridor with a subtly-flickering shadow at the corner. You lean back against the wall, removing yourself from the field of vision of the cameras perched above the vault doors as well as giving yourself time to catch your breath. ...All this adrenalin is making you breath hard. You need to start exercising again.

"...What fucking took you so long, Green?" The shadow hisses as you sidle up behind it. A moment later, and the shadow resolves into something more material, something more recognizable - Wendy herself, with her grinning fox mask already concealing her features. "You take a big shit before coming here or what?"

...What? No, you didn't! You couldn't even eat your own dinner, for Chrissakes!

"Yeah? Well, you probably should've. Once this thing starts rolling, we won't have any time for bathroom breaks." Wendy snaps, before quickly peering around the corner to look at the vault. "Alright, how do you want to do this? You want me to go trick the cameras and cover you while you go in and take the target, or the other way around? One of us has to be stay out here in case someone comes around."

As a vessel fot the Blessed Lady, Midori should be more resistant to the GW in case something goes bad. She is better for entering the vault

Wendy's resurrection means that she's more resistant to the Corruption from the Golden Weapons.

The three stooges might be willing to help us avoid corruption.

We don't know what they think of Wendy, Midori is the better illusionist of the two.
We're also choosing between a Chosen of the Blessed Lady versus a Vessel, and which is more likely to resist the corrupting effects of a Golden Weapon.

Have Wendy trick the cameras:
1. More likely that the Three Stooges will be compliant with Midori
2. Being a Vessel may impart more resistant to GW corruption.

Have Midori trick the cameras:
1. Midori is the better illusionist
2. Since Wendy was brought back from Soul Gem destruction, her Soul Gem may resist corruption better
>>
>>41911953
While that sounds tempting we would have to wait for her to finish.

The thing is, Wendy was exposed to Golden Weapon fuckery before, so she should be more used to resisting it anyway. Plus, the DEagle is one of the more docile weapons, and the stooges are unlikely to try and pull off any shit unless someone tries to use it, which Wendy or Midori aren't.

Still, Midori is the better illusionist here, and she's more familiar with the 9th as well as with the people that might later watch the tapes, so she can weave an illusion that is far superior than anything that Wendy can attempt.

Eh, convincing Kuma to help shouldn't be too big of an issue considering how much she looks up to Chiaki and all that. Also, if she walks in while we're actually delivering the weapon, then Enishi can probably handle her, or Wendy, though the later is likely a bad idea...

That said, whenever I see that version of Chiaki, my brain gets flooded with error messages.

Wendy is silent as you tell her your decision, and she nods as soon as you finish. "Been a while since I had to do something like this," she murmurs as two shadowy forms, each one seemingly made out of tendrils of sentient smoke, curl away from the Callidus before gently floating up to the cameras themselves. At the same time, she unholsters her tranquilizer pistol from its holster, twisting a slender supressor onto its muzzle and then racking the greased slide. "Usually I just kill everyone first, andn then take the CCTV footage." She turns to you, her fox mask grinning murderously in the dim half-light of the corridor. "Mask up. Wait for my signal."

You do so, pulling the mask on, its heavy straps securing tightly and snugly around your skull. It's not...uncomfortable, not as such, and whoever designed it seemed to have discovered a way for your breath to aspirate neatly through the mouth and nose areas of the mask, instead of simply being filtered back to you and creating a muffled, stuffy kind of existence. It's a bit...liberating, in a way. Making you feel like you can do anything with the mask on and not be accountable for anything at all.You probably could get used to this--

"Alright, cameras taken care of. Go." Wendy growls, and you immediately move out of cover and walk briskly towards the vault. Your heart pounding faster with every step you take, the cobalt-black keycard's edge digging into your hand with how tightly you're holding it.

Relax, Hanegawa, you can do this, you fervently remind yourself as you bring yourself ever closer to betraying the Officio that took you in. You managed to hide from the Armored Fragment in two overlapping barriers - and that's with the grinning, cannibalizing, pink dress-wearing blight of the universe in your arms. Sneaking into a vault should be a piece of cake.

Three steps. Two steps. One step.

[1/2]
>>
>>41913553

And you stop as you behold the vault doors in front of you, the keycard slot's notification screen lighting up as soon as you glance towards it. A single sentence emblazoned there in pixellated letters:

KEYCARD REQUIRED.

With a shivering, white-knuckled grip, you slide the keycard through the vault door's proffered card track. A moment later, and the doors begin to slowly and creakingly grind open in slow, ponderous cranks. As soon as you spot the opportunity to, you finally step inside - and the freezing cold air inside hits you with an almost palpable force that for a moment you wonder if you've confused the vault witha walk-in freezer instead.

"Still clear. No one else around." Wendy's voice crackles in your ear, delivered by the built-in headset in the mask itself. You turn , and you have enough time to give her a nod just as the doors themselves start their laborious journey to close behind you.

"Update me when that changes," You reply, before facing forward again and moving slowly into the vault proper, careful not to touch anything. Wendy's reply of acknowledgement is a single brief burst of static, pulsed down the connection before the connection itself goes quiet.

You keep moving forward, looking around the sharply-illuminated room of reinforced concrete, steel and golden madness. Your breath leaving your lips in white

The vault is...well, it's your sempai's vault. It's the first time you've been here, and the first time you've seen all the Golden Weapons stored in one single place. All neat and tidy in their own numbered racks, among those not yet 'occupied'.

[2/3]
>>
>>41913574

What surprises you the most - looking at them right here and now - is how mundane and harmless they look, once you look past their golden facades. You suspected them to be rattling in their racks, or emitting some kind of shrill screaming cacophony of the crazed, blood-maddened undead - but instead they're quiet, docile, as if your presence here had reduced them to the lifeless things they should be, instead of what they only seemed to be.

Still, you're going to be careful. Really careful.

Because f--frig if you're letting one of these things do what they nearly did to your sempai, and everyone else who'd had the unfortunate luck of being chosen for them.

Inching a bit closer to the raised table at the middle of the vault, it's here that you see the rack - well, the framed foam inset, anyway - for your sempai's Desert Eagle. The main objective of this first half of the mission.

And it's gleaming, almost temptingly so. The harsh glow of the fluorescent light above making the metal shimmer tantalizingly, begging to be held. Begging to be used.

What do you do?

You pull on a pair of white cotton gloves you've prepared for just this moment. You're not entirely sure if the Golden Weapons take skin contact into account when driving their wielders crazy, but you'll take any precaution available to avoid something like that.

Just as you make to gingerly pick out the oversized, blocky firearm from its customized foam inset - you suddenly get the irrational, almost laugh-out-loud silly idea that you should be asking permission first, rather than simply taking it. You have no idea where the idea itself came from, only that it popped up in your mind, unbidden and unwanted.

...

"Please..." You try to begin, feeling your face grow hot as you hear your voice echo around the room, tinny and hesitant. Urgh. Are you actually doing this? Are you actually asking a gun permission to pick it up?

Crazier things have happened, you tell yourself. You shouldn't even be surprised at this point, honestly.

"Please excuse me." You finally manage to complete your sentence, before finally plucking the Golden Desert Eagle from its foam-cut home. Lifting it free from its confines and letting its weight rest heavily on your gloved hands.

It's...heavier than you expected, and you expected it to be really heavy. How your sempai just picks it up and uses it like she does, you'll never figure out.

It DOES feel really good to hold, though. As heavy as it is, it feels almost like an extension of yourself, the handle seemingly molding itself to fit your grip better. But other than that, it doesn't seem to be turning you into a monster just yet.

You stand perfectly still for a couple of seconds, before letting out the breath you've been holding.

Well, it seems to have worked. The asking permission part, anyway. Working as quickly as you can, you stuff the gun into the whitesnake leather holster conveniently hanging from the raised table, before placing the entire thing back into your inventory.

"Package procured," You whisper to Wendy through your mask's built-in mic. "Coming out now. Is it still clear outside?"

You hear Wendy cursing over the frequency. "...Shit. Two people. One eversor, one vindicare." A moment. "Want me to get rid of them?

And then you hear it.

A faint rattling behind you, coming from the rack where the XX Golden Weapon should be.

How do you respond?

"N-negative," You manage to stammer out as you realize just what Wendy was suggesting just now. "N-no! Don't do anything! Just let them through! I'll just stay put until they're gone!"

Silence, before Wendy's voice crackles in your ear. "...Fine. Standing down. Notifying you the moment they leave."

You let out a shuddering sigh of relief, before pulling your mask up and away from your face, letting it sit on top of your scalp. As comfortable as it is, the mask was making things feel a bit too claustrophobic for comfort - and the vault itself isn't quite the spacious room either, with barely just enough room for walk around and not disturb the racked Weapons strewn around.

The rattling noise makes you start, and you whirl to see the XX Golden Weapon - the katana, Muramasa - rattling in its rack, as if trying to shake itself off of the prongs firmly clasping it against the wall. A bit of the golden sword's blade already revealed by its ministrations, with that tiny sliver glowing with a mad, hungry light.

And then--

+ Well, well. I guess this means the rumors are true. +

A shadow, flickering into reality in front of you. A nearly formless, shapeless manifestation, barely reaching the same level of tangibility as that of Wendy's own phantasms. But you could still make out its general figure of a rather tall, yet slender Magical Girl. One with short hair and an eyepatch over one madly-glowing eye.

+ She's dead, then? Murderface is dead? Or did she finally turn into that black-winged wretch of a traitor that we all knew she was going to be? +

What do you do?

[] Pulse a reply refuting her claims.
[] Ignore her. It's just...a trick of the Golden Weapons. Just a talking shadow, nothing more. Wait for Wendy to tell you when it's safe to leave.

+ I wouldn't be here if that was true. + is the reply you manage to pulse at the shadowy, wispy thing of hissing, sneering hatred. Whoever - or whatever - it was, you have the sinking feeling that it's not going to let you out of here without a scrap. One that would probably have you bleeding all over the expensive carpeting.

+ Hnn. Well, that makes sense, I suppose. + The shadow seems to smirk here. + If Murderface was indeed permanently compromised, you'd be looting this place entirely of the miserable booty it has. ...Although-- +

Another shadow-ghost appears to your left, one shorter, slightly stockier, with a child's height and build. Two specks of dull orange light flickering from the depths of its hooded face.

+ She took it! + The shadow points a smoke-twisted tendril of an arm towards you. + She took Matsuda-san's gun! + It glares at you, hotly indignant, and somehow you can hear each individual knuckle of its hands cracking as it clenches them into tight, skull-breaking fists. + Give it back! That's not yours to take! Give it back! + Its childlike voice then twists into an angry, unearthly roar - one much more suited to the huge, black-mawed monsters of your nightmares. + GIVE. IT. BACK! +

+ Oh, dear. Look, no one asked you, little runt. Go back to bed. + The first shadow snorts, before turning back to you. + See, now look what you've done. Now you're going to wake everyone else up, and it's going to turn into a fucking circus in here--+

+ OI! + Yet another shadow sprouts out of nowhere, and with this one you can feel...hunger. An everlasting, unsatiable hunger for blood, for skulls, and charcoal-grilled shrimp. + What's all this then? What's all this ruckus? Did the bint with the legs finally come back from her vacation or what? +

[1/2]
>>
>>41917160

Two amber eyes, each one pupilled with a cross, blinks at you. +Oh, false alarm, it's just some chubby sheila tryin' to make off with the skinny one's gun. ...Wait, is that allowed? That ain't allowed, innit? Hey cunt-- +

+ No, it isn't allowed. None may touch us except the Chosen. + The first shadow snaps. + And stop yapping, your voice is like a thousand tiny razors shredding my skin every time you draw breath. +

+ Please yourself, ya buggering git, + The third shadow easily replies, before turning back to you. + Hey. You. Put that back where it belongs, it ain't really yours to take. That's bad news, that. + It pauses here, as if thinking about something. + If you don't, then we'll have to tear you apart to get it back. And nobody wants that, right? ...Well, I do, but ya probably don't, so... +

You shake your head and step back from the looming phantasms. + N-no! No, I'm not stealing it! I'm just taking it to her! Semp--no, Chiaki needs it! I'm just taking it to give it to her because she can't do it herself! +

The first ghost giggles here, a slow purring sound reminding you of honey. + A sound denial. But then again, isn't that what all thieves say? +

And it's here, then, that the shadows start to move closer, with clear murderous intent in their flickering eyes.

Is...is this it? Is this how far you're going to get? This is where you fail?

And then, beside you - a golden light. A warm one, like a lover's touch.

You turn to it, and see...the reason that had landed your sempai in this mess in the first place.

The Golden Staff. The hequin-topped rod of pure, carved gold glowing in its rack, just inside your reach.

For some reason, it feels like...it feels like you can use it to drive them away.

All you need to do is to reach out and curl your fingers around it.

What do you do?

[]Grab it and threaten the shadows with it.
[]Evacuate from the vault. It doesn't matter if you're seen leaving it. Just RUN.

Ahriman isn't in the staff anymore... so this MAY work, especially if it's Yuma, since she knows what's going on.

Damn, too late to use the power of yuri. Offer our body and soul to them if that's their price, but the woman we love needs us. Needs this gun, and we will get it to her no matter the cost. If they love her like us, they will let us pass or take whatever they need to satisfy them. But we will not be DENIED. WE WILL SAVE HER, FROM WITCHES OR PINKY OR EVEN HERSELF IF NEED BE. We are powered by love, and regardless of the cost we will bring her back.

That was handing our Soul Gem to someone who held a very personal grudge against us. This is simply showing our Soul Gem, and maybe doing some weird Soul Gem magic with it, to a bunch of incorporeal beings we do technically have a connection to that simply don't know who we are.

I still don't think handing Ahriman our Soul Gem was a mistake. A bad idea, sure, but one that definitely had some important outcomes.

What? No, seriously, what?
>>

I voted to give our soul gem like you, anon. I will always have the sensation that I was tricked like a moron just because I though that we were going to discover something of vital importance, and instead we have ended up putting everyone we hold dear in danger. And everytime I try to justufy my decision, anons bombard me with their incandescent hatred and put a lot of effort in making me realize how idiot I am

Cooldown, you still around?

If so, out of curiosity, do you know what would happen if a girl wished to become a magical girl that can't witchout? Would she automatically turn Maerorus or something?
>>
>>41919028
Might become a culexus.

Nobody here REALLY knows how Soul Gems work, especially one personally reconstructed by a goddess and linked to a devil. Maybe pumping a little bit of magic into it to make it glow will make it glow in such a way that the GW spirits will recognize as being connected to the Blessed Lady. Maybe they could tell just by looking at it.
>>
>>41919028
They'd probably just get a 'we can't do that', like trying to bring someone back from the dead. That kind of wish doesn't make a Culexus and Maerorus aren't that simple. Incubators probably would have figured out how to take advantage of them by now if they were.

Better if you ask Decu himself. As the author, he can give you a "more canon" answer. Cooldown can give you an answer, but if Decu speak, then is settled in stone.

until he changes his mind again
>>
>>41919088
I'm still curious as to what sort of wish even creates a Culexus.

Maybe, if my suspicions are right and Yuma is now in the Golden Staff instead of Ahriman, we should ask her about it once we get back in control of Chiaki.
>>
>>41919088
What's up with the limit on bringing back the dead anyway? I mean, time travel was possible in the original PMMM, and possibly in MGNQ too with the right wish, shouldn't raising one dead person be comparatively easy, especially if they haven't been dead for long?

Or are Wishes simply weaker in MGNQ than they were in the original PMMM universe because the whole Homusatan and Madokami conflict fucked everything for everyone ever?
>>
>>41919216
It's possible that the Incubators either don't know where a soul goes after death, or do know but are unable to reach it for one reason or another.

Besides Magical Girl souls, anyway. We know EXACTLY where those go.
>>
>>41919216
I think from a narrative standpoint it's to make death meaningful in the arguably more meatgrinder-y MGNQ universe. I'm inclined to say the subject of souls and afterlives is complicated.

This is a good Decu question.
>>
>>41919216
Time travel wasn't planned, and it's not like QB was responsible for it. And even then it's probably easier for a soul gem to do that sort of stuff compared to an actual soul.
>>
>>41919292
I don't think Incubators have that much control over the Wishing process, or at least they didn't in canon, otherwise I'm fairly certain that Madokami would have never happened.
>>
>>41919142

I thought it was completely selfless wishes of certain magnitudes that create Culexus. If I remember correctly, in an old thread it was stated that so much magic was used to complete their wish, that there is none left for the wisher, therefore resulting in them becoming beings of anti-magic.
>>
>>41919331
I don't remember that ever being said, and I think that sort of contradicts the existence of Madokami.
>>
>>41919367

Well, it will probably take me a week to look through the archives, so I probably am mistaken. Either way, asking Yuma, if she is in the staff now, would make things much clearer anyways.
>>
>>41919367
Regardless, it's clear that magic and Wishes in MGNQ are different from canon PMMM, partly because the universe was fucked over. Odds are that even if someone somehow had Madoka's level of potential, they wouldn't be able to go full goddess in MGNQ no matter what Wish they make.
>>
>>41919088
Could a girl wish for an already contracted magical girl to turn into a Maerorus? This of course implies a close to impossible chain of events where a normie with potential knows an MG, wants to make a wish for them, and knows about witch-hybrids in the first place.

So never gonna happen, but out of curiosity.
>>
>>41919635
I don't think so - it would probably imply that Incubators have more direct control over witches than they do.

Also it would be a fucked-up thing to do to someone.
>>
>>41919746
>Also it would be a fucked-up thing to do to someone.

Kharn's case, and the First, seem to indicate otherwise, at least to an extent.

>it would probably imply that Incubators have more direct control over witches than they do.

This implies that they have a greater control over wishes and their effects than they did in canon. Interesting.
>>
>>41919785
During Kharn´s flashback, we saw that she was truly concerned by "the corruption", as she called it. If this was because she didn´t knew the maerorus project well at this point or because she really had to fight that part of her because it was trying to consume her is another point.
Another interesting question for Decu, even if I say so myself

My headcanon is that they can grant certain wishes, but won't, because of Incubator laws, agreements between each other, their very nature, or a combination of those three. If one of them did so anyway, the rest would take actions against the Incubator and probably their entire Officio.

Pic unrelated.
>>
>>41919956
I'm afraid of asking Decu questions directly, his Hahaha scares me. It's hella creepy!

That said, Kharn IS one of the prototypes, so she might have problems that the girls in the first don't have. By that same token, her worry might simply be a case of ignorance...

...and Decu is totally gonna fuck with everyone's head when it comes to this...

...and Chiaki doesn't really count because she's one of the Homus and thus her circumstances are simply too FUBAR to generalize...
>>
>>41919785
The First are all pointedly exceptional meguca in the first place - the kind that stand well above the rest even before they're Maerorus - and Kharn is hard to expound upon with the information we have so far about her, but you could argue that her Maerorus nature is what made her witch powerful enough to wipe out the Templars and the Ninth's Culexus.

>>41919956
This anon also has it right, and it's worth taking to Decu, definitely.

My understanding has always been that a Maerorus is almost certainly an unstable individual on the best of days physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and that there's a constant struggle to keep ahold of oneself...which is understandable when the girl in question is on a tightrope where falling too far either way leads to exploding into a horrible, insane murderwitch.
>>
>>41920042
If being a maerorus put a girl on a tightrope as heavy as the one you mention, Then how the first incubator manages to control all his girls? He must be an exceptional individual.

Also, captcha, fish is no juice! For God's sake!
>>
>>41920421
The First is only, if I recall correctly, around twenty girls, and each and every one of them is the best of the best physically and mentally. It's not really the same situation as the other Officios.

And he IS the Incubator the others all answer to, I imagine he's the best at it.
