Stage 91: The Empress Who Is Crowned By The Sky vs The Police and the SDF.

You are The Most Imperial Highness Patanjali Piri Yokuhime Kuronogitsune Pa and currently you are sitting with your Newly Instated Chief Retainer And Personal Attendant In All Things in a small office. The office isn't yours, unfortunately, but it is at least pleasantly warm, and the people inside the office are speaking in reserved and polite tones. Your Chief Retainer is slumped back in her chair and looking incredibly bored, while the police and the military person discuss things you only have a moderately passing interest in.

That she is in handcuffs is only a mild inconvenience to you.

Looking through the eyes of the nogitsune who is traveling with and serves your new allies in Clan Ryuu, you see they have passed beyond the edges of the area where the humans are conducting their searches, but that there is an enemy there as well. Hopefully they will take care of that enemy quickly – another fox-spirit, more related to demons than foxes, but not nogitsune either – you would know – and that makes her very peculiar indeed. It pleases you, this lack of boredom in your life! There will be much mischief to cause and many people to bewilder and many enemies to confuse!

Sadly, at the moment your must wait for the proper timing of such things. Timing is essential to the maximization of confusion and totality of amusement alike. The paperwork that your Chief Retainer presented proving you are in fact her mother and that she does in fact have every right to keep you nearby was very handy, and you will have to think of a suitable reward for her quick thinking. You're not entirely sure you approve of her using her name as your surname rather than yours for hers, but you suspect it is a paperwork sort of thing, and paperwork is boring.

Chisato sighs loudly, earning her annoyed looks from the police, and you swing your legs, looking down at how far your geta are from the floor. A female police woman approaches you and asks in her lilting modern Japanese with a false high pitch to help make her sound more cute to Japanese men, “Miss Hyun, would you like to come with me to get a soda? Your mother needs to answer some questions right now.”

Well, you could stay with Chisato, and see what happens, but she seems very much at ease in this situation. This woman, on the other hand, is clearly only a slight upgrade from an office lady, and isn't particularly considered worthwhile by her fellow officers. You glance through they eyes of your sister-in-spirit, and see that Ryukusa and her friends are taking a rest, having dealt with whatever personage that had tried to catch them. That means it's very nearly time to assist your Clan and your new sister Clan in escaping the clutches of the human police and military.

What to do, what to do....

>Peta may only select one choice, but write ins take precedence. Write ins which cause trouble are automatically more favored regardless of consequences or whom the trouble is caused to....with the two exceptions of Hyun Chisato and Ryuu Ryukusa. Peta will not cause them trouble.

[] You would rather stay here and observe your Chief Retainer's interrogation.
[] You will accompany the not-quite-office-lady and see what she intends.
[] You would like to go somewhere else right now and she will facilitate this.
[] You will determine the whereabouts and situations of your clan members currently.

Obviously your chief retainer is here exactly to deal with these boring matters. The office should have something entertaining about, or some way to make it entertaining at least.

We can lose her later, or get her to take us where we can cause trouble.

[X] You will accompany the not-quite-office-lady and see what she intends.

You glance at your Chief Retainer, and she smiles and nods. “Go on, Peta-chan. They're not gonna do shit to me.” Chisato's language brings a frown to the face fo the police-office-lady.

“You shouldn't use such language in front of a child! You'll teach her bad habits!” Her admonishment is short lived in the face of the vicious smirk that your Chief Retainer gives her.

“Not fuckin' likely, since she's mute, babe!” The police officer blushes furiously, but is far too embarrassed to actually say anything more.

“That's enough from you,” says a more decorated police officer, and Chisato snorts.

Yes, you most definitely approve of Ryuu Ryukusa's choice in Chief Retainers for you.

Sliding out of the chair, you take the nice police-office-lady's hand and look up at her. She beams at you, and you let her start leading you away....which makes her confusion and startled reaction that much more interesting when you slip her grasp and run back to hug Chisato awkwardly. She can do little more than lean into the hug, of course, but that doesn't stop you from slipping the keys you just stole from the policewoman into her hand. “Don't worry, Peta, I'll be fine. These jerks don't know who they're messing with.”

Nodding solemnly you walk back over to the police-office-lady and take her hand, allowing her to escort you to get something to drink. The door is opened, and you pass another open door to a room where people are talking excitedly and looking through the one-way glass at your Chief Retainer and the trio of people who are supposed to interrogate her. They seem to believe she can shed light on some organized crime, which is probably true.
>>
>>41789937
Of course, they don't know how much trouble they're in for capturing your Chief Retainer, much less your Personal Representative, and your clan.

She leads you down a bustling corridor filled with Yakuza thugs in handcuffs, men and women, mostly young men and women, as well as police officers in riot gear and the occasional SDF member. Your policewoman, whom you have decided is cute in a brainless sort of way, ignores the wolf-whistles and catcalls haughtily, though she smells of fear and confusion and a touch of excitement. One makes a rather boorish threat.

“You're gonna get yours bitch! I'm gonna find where you live and visit you personally!” There's more disapproval than agreement from his neighbors, and orders to shut up from the Yakuza, and one of the police officers shoves him against the wall.

But then again, she's in your company, and he isn't one of your new people. Chisato would definitely not approve of his attitude.

[] You will politely ignore his outburst until you can let Chisato know later.
[] You will punish him for his temerity for insulting someone in your August Presence and under your Personal Protection For Being Your Escort.
[] You will make sure he happens to be arrested for a longer term than anyone else for his insults.
[] You will inflict chaos by allowing a fight to break out and take your revenge during the scuffle.

[X] You will be inappropriately frightened by the scary Yakuza thug and encourage the police-office-lady to protect you and punish him.

Though none of the humans can see your ears flatten and your tail tuck between your legs, they can still ~feel~ that happen, and stopping dead before running around to hide behind the policewoman encourages that sense of your fear in them. It is of course terribly undignified, but if it helps the very cute police woman understand she doesn't have to be powerless, so much the better.

Also, he was very rude.

The tremor of fear in you, combined with a gentle pulse of motherly instinct imprinted into her mind, galvanizes your new toy into action. She stomps up to the bully and gets right in his face, much to everyone's surprise. “You'll do nothing of the sort! If I have anything to say about it, you'll be put in the most unpleasant prison in Tokyo, and I'll make sure that you're outed as a threat to children and young women everywhere! You won't last ten minutes!” She stomps on his toes and then ~pivots on them~ as she walks back over to pick you up. As he squeaks in important pain and she gently reassures you that you're safe from the bad man and you have nothing to be afraid of, you look over her shoulder at the 'bad man' and lift your hand in a fox sign, flicking your ears and tail at him as his eyes widen in disbelief.
>>
>>41790536
You allow your new toy to carry you to the waiting room, where she sets you carefully on a chair and kneels properly before you. “I'm so sorry about that, Miss Hyun. May I call you Peta-chan?” You magnanimously agree by nodding to her, and she smiles brightly. Much prettier when she smiles. “Well, I'm Officer Tadaki, and I'll take care of you. Your mom isn't a bad person, she's just caught up in some troublesome things. I'm sure everything will be all right.” Her hope that she isn't lying to you is amusing, since she is perfectly aware she is lying to you. Still you do give her credit for trying.

“Would you like a soda?” She gives you time to respond, which means she might actually be smarter than she pretends to be. “Some juice?” You nod, and she walks over to the vending machine to collect said juice.

You take the moment to observe through your sister-in-spirit's eyes. Well, that was a nice show! Akari is just as cute as Chisato thinks she is. However, that aside, it seems that they are splitting up – Ryukusa and Akari heading off towards a beach, and the others resting. It might be the ideal time to start The Rescue Operation. They're far enough away to be safe from any trouble.

[] You will wait just a little longer; a better opportunity may come up.
[] You will sneak away and see what else you may find in the building.
[] You will find a secluded place and see what the status of your clan and the new group is.
[] You will encourage your new toy to give you some tools to work with.

Are we keeping this toy?
Would it be amusing to see our Chief Retainer and our new toy play with each other?
>>
[X] You will encourage your new toy to give you some tools to work with.

You take the offered juice, which she has appropriately already opened and placed the straw in for you, and take several sips. It is very cold and perfectly refreshing. You lift your hand and give her the fox-sign and she smiles, pleased with your approval, as she should be. “I can see if I can find some books for you to look at, if you'd like, Peta-chan....” she starts, looking a little troubled that she can't entertain you properly here. You could teach her otherwise, but instead you set your juice aside and pantomime drawing.

Her eyes brighten immediately. “I think I can find some paper and pens for you....just wait right here!” she exclaims brightly, and she dashes off quite quickly.

You take the moment to feel for your clan and the new special members of your clan. Though the nogitsune-children they have formed ties with, you can now sense the Yakuza whom have bonded to them through the magic the amazing silver dragon-child used. For the most part, none of the pairs who didn't want to be captured were captured, while others have been captured for the express purpose of helping the Yakuza they were friends with, or helping the nogitsune-children they were friends with.

This is going to be a very useful thing, you can tell already.
>>
>>41790927
Of the one-hundred-and-sixty-three members of your clan, a mere twenty-five have been captured, and six pair-bonded ones – you really need to give them an official name – as well. Your liaison is worried about you, but she is always like that. She is also concerned that her phone has been taken from her by foreign military people, though she remains in police custody. You reassure her, and the rest of your people, sending them your love and your warmth. They immediately take heart, and you can feel the pair-bonded ones becoming stronger even with that little touch of warmth.

Very interesting indeed.

You look up as Officer Tadaki returns and she sets some copy-paper and a set of felt tip pens of various colors before you. You give her TWO fox signs and she beams in the glow of your approval, as you take one piece of paper and start folding it into the most useful tool you can use – a substitute doll for yourself. She smiles and sits patiently, watching you fold the paper into an origami doll.

[] You will leave an illusion of yourself here for her to watch over, and then go forth and rescue your allies.
[] You will put her under a spell of illusion and turn her into an unwitting ally in your escape plan.
[] You will make a set of talismans and charms to assist you in your plans as she watches over you.
[] You will place her under an enchantment and keep her safely away from all the trouble you are about to make.

Don't break your toys, Peta-chan,and make sure to put them away.

Also it gives Tadaki a chance to come out of this whole debacle looking competent and reliable, while the rest of her section gets chewed out by the chief.

Mmmh, in one hand, it would be a dick move to involve her. On the other hand, Peta is a very Peta nogitsune-child, so I don't think she'd care about that.
>>
[X] You will make a set of talismans and charms to assist you in your plans as she watches over you.

As you finish the first doll, you make it dance for Officer Tadaki, and she claps her hands, overjoyed at your well honed skill. With much solemnity, you give her the shikigami, investing a minor yako nogitsune spirit into it to make it active and imparting your desire to protect Officer Tadaki and making sure she will 'be in your presence' the entire time.

Taking up the pens, you draw several sets of charms and talismans, though you do find it necessary to have her 'take you' to find scissors. The paper doll gives her the impression she is in fact walking you to the office and back, and you feel quite pleased that it is being properly obedient. She returns and sets the scissors down for you, and you cut up the colorful talismans and set them aside. Fox-fire charms, labyrinth-makers, flower-bursting-crackle-charms, and a set of sharp-edge charms keep you pleasantly busy for an hour. As a point of pride you never carry such things with you; it is important to be able to improvise!

And last, you draw a picture of yourself holding hands with Officer Tadaki and your Chief Retainer under the sakura trees. She blushes and is rather confused and yet terribly flattered, which is just perfectly Officer Tadaki. The pleasant officer smiles and thanks you profusely for the picture, though she seems a bit bemused by your uncanny skill. You smile and set out more paper and pens, before you activate the shikigami for good, and allow it to keep the young officer entertained while you do your work.
>>
>>41791381
The first order of business is checking on your new friends. They seem to be doing well – Ryukusa and Akari haven't rejoined them, but they're taking a train north, to the Pearl Diving Museum. Yuuhi-sama's spirit is looking at you from outside her body, and bows. You bow politely back, surprised that she's mastered that difficult ability. She may be younger than you, but her powers are not simple ones!

[] You will take a moment to see what she is willing to tell you about the head of her clan.
[] You will now go forth and release the Yakuza prisoners of the Japanese Government.

[X] You will take a moment to see what she is willing to tell you about the head of her clan.

Typically you don't make small talk, but this is a special case. Though you can't actually possess her body, the connection you have with her is enough you can make your thoughts and interests clear to her, and naturally as an living spirit, an ikiryo, she can react and communicate with your spirit.

(Yuuhi-sama, where is your master?) The bluntness of your inaudible question is more a function of the lack of vocal cues, not of rudeness on your part. Yuuhi-sama's response is no less straightforward.

(She is going to kill the foreign soldiers and remove some of the constant obstacles. Was it you looking through my eyes before?) Yuuhi's body is mostly unconscious, though her spirit is still tightly connected to it – tightly enough that even unconscious she's incredibly dangerous to anyone she deems a threat. It is something you'll definitely keep in mind.

(It is, it is one of my abilities. It is the only ability I have concerning other nogitsune-children bodies though. I can only possess my Clan members, and even then not the ones that the Silver Dragon has given bonds with the criminals.) You consider how to phrase the next question so that she doesn't react unhappily. (Your master is very different from most dragon-children. She is a very strange Water Dragon-child.)

Even without vocal cues the pride Yuuhi-sama feels is obvious. (Ryukusa-sama is the daughter of Ryujin-Owatatsumi Kami, and she is going to change the lives of the people of Japan for the better. It will cause many disasters and changes but it will turn out for the better. That is why she needed your help and the help of her criminals.)

That kind of brings you up short. You understood she needed help in preparing for dangerous situations and disasters, but not that she was going to directly cause them. (Why does she wish to do that?)

Yuuhi's spirit frowns thoughtfully. (It is not that she wishes to do it but that she will do it because she must. Her enemies are very powerful and they will do anything to control the world. But to control the world they need to take away her wife.)

That explains things much more clearly; like you, Ryukusa is the sort of clan Head who will not tolerate action against her clan, even to the least member. Chisato is much the same – unless she's the one doling out the trouble of course. (Then they are very foolish enemies.)
>>
>>41792051
Yuuhi nods agreeably, but then someone wakes her up and she is inhabiting her body again, and you cannot communicate further. But it is something to keep in mind. You have little doubt Yuuhi-sama will mention it to Ryukusa-sama, but you also suspect she will do so privately. Then again, she does seem....very scatterbrained. You would say senile, but you don't think that's quite it.

Perhaps she's just crazy.

[X] You will now see where you can cause the absolute most trouble ever in this building.
[X] You will ensure Tadaki-san is capable of coping with the trouble you are about to dish out.

It doesn't take much to decide on your next course of action. Between the Yakuza and Clan Kurosune and the Familiar Spirituals Allies, if they can't take advantage of random chaos and mayhem then they're not fit to assist you or Ryukusa in saving Japan. Life is hard, and clever creatures do better than dull ones. It's simply natural.

Of course, the opportunity to REALLY cause some trouble is also very much important. It is family tradition, after all.

Over the years many of your clan have wondered at your taking the form you do. Really it's quite simple – people overlook small children a lot, and they always underestimate them. Also, it's your natural form, despite what people think. You suspect Amaterasu-Omikami of being playful. You sigh as you think about that dreamy warmth and those beautiful artistic patterns and those adorable hands. Maybe if you'd been born a kitsune-child instead of daughter of the most evil yako ever she'd accept a petition to be her handmaiden, but you'll settle for being who you were born as.

Besides, it;s not like you're actually evil or anything, you decide as you reach the security center for the station and sneak silently inside with the five humans present. You just have a reputation to uphold.
>>
>>41792558
You take out an origami swallow, and bind another minor nogitsune spirit into it, and maintain a thread of contact with it. Then you send it winging through the corridors to Officer Tadaki and your puppet-self. This way you can assist Tadaki-san and have her help you and herself at the same time without anyone ever realizing it. Suddenly, you spot a very interesting looking door with the words SECURITY OFFICE not written on it in anyway a human could see, but the nature of it is perfectly obvious to a born troublemaker like you.

Electronic locking mechanism? Super secure deadbolt? Nearly airtight seals? Wonderful!

There are two police officers, an SDF officer, and some foreigner in military uniform with no insignia in the room. Currently, the Yakuza are all being placed into holding cells, which while crowded, places them all in easy location. This also means they've mixed your people into them as well. There are extra guards in riot gear there as well, and there are two cages just for women, which are even more crowded. You can see Reiha in an interrogation room, Chisato in hers, and there is pretty Soomi being berated and threatened by some man about not discussing her detective-friend with the soldier who is quite visibly yelling at her. Her detective friend, a man named Mugon Chujo, is smirking at the interrogators and clearly unimpressed by their threads, as befitting an agent of the Special Intelligence Agency.

This looks like the place to start all right.

[] You will short everything out, scramble radios, and then turn on the sprinkler system to induce panic.
[] You will render everyone here harmless, helpless, and impotent to act, and then start giving confusing orders for everyone.
[] You will short all the monitors and recording devices out, then lock everyone in the room, and go rescue the ones in the most trouble.
[] You will write your demands on a piece of paper, deliver them to the person in charge here, and enjoy their reaction.

[X] You will render everyone here harmless, helpless, and impotent to act, and then start giving confusing orders for everyone.

A quick study of the monitors gives you an overall view of everyone's situation. Almost everyone is okay, really, other than incarceration, and Soomi is taking the rather pointed and equally pointless interrogation in stride for the most part. You're not entirely sure about the person interrogating Reiha; his military uniform, like this one fellow's, is not Japanese. Still, you should probably get down to business. And the first order of business....is tugging on the police officer's sleeve.

He turns, confused, and looks down at you. Immediately presuming you're a child in need of help, despite the fact that he's in a supposedly secure room that no one could possibly get access to, he kneels and asks, “What are you doing in her, little girl? Where are your parents?” His question draws the attention of everyone else, except the other actual police officer who is speaking into a microphone. His eyes widen as the SDF officer asks, “How did she get in here?” and the foreigner reaches for his gun.

Which is far too late.

You write the kanji for 'Deep Sleep' on his forehead with black marker pen, and he immediately collapses, unconscious until you say otherwise. You leap up and smack a talisman on the face of the SDF officer even as the foreigner gets his gun halfway out of the holster, and he collapses, trapped in a solipsism. You land in a crouch at the strange man's feet and he has his teeth bared as you wrap your tail around his ankles and pull him off balance with magic more than strength, knocking him unconscious as his head slams against the wall. When the last police officer turns, confused by the noise, you scrawl the kanji for 'I Am An Idiot' on his forehead and he goes limp, a drooling and mindless husk.
>>
>>41793508
You turn on the fifth person, and he frowns at you. “So, you must be the mysterious leader of the nogitsune-born here.” You look up at him, trying to decide exactly how you're going to deal with this person. Like you, he has the talent for being almost unnoticed. Unlike you, his parent was a raven or crow – a tengu-child. He's wearing a uniform similar to the SDF, but it has a few slight differences. The most important part is that he has a katana, and that makes him as dangerous as you are. He is, however, very clearly not nearly as old as you are: his nose, while long, is not very long, and his feathers are only just sticking out of his sleeves and collar a little. His hair is mostly human too, aside from a few stray feathers here and there.

He has his left hand on his scabbard, but his right is far away and off to the side. That doesn't mean he's not going to be able to grab his sword before you can do anything – that just means he's letting you know he didn't attack you on purpose. They're honorable and skilled, the tengu-born, but they are also very succinct when push comes to shove.

[] You will write out a note demanding his surrender and telling him you will cause no undue harm.
[] You will use an illusion to trick him into an attack that will never connect and nail him with a talisman.
[] You will pull out a flower-bursting-crackle-charm and escape in the confusion.
[] You will put up a Barrier and see what can be done with such an unusual and dangerous enemy there.

[X] You will write out a note demanding his surrender and telling him you will cause no undue harm.

Pulling out a blank piece of paper, you lay it on the ground and write out a pleasantly worded demand for his surrender on the condition you will cause no undue harm to the local constabulary of Japanese Self Defense Forces. You will take no hostages nor allow any killing during your rescue of the unjustly imprisoned Yakuza and nogitsune-born.

You turn it to face him and he reads it with one eye closed, to prevent any magical writing from ensnaring his mind entirely. Of course, you wouldn't have needed to write all that out to do that, but he doesn't need to know that about you at all. He frowns, then looks at you. “I have your word?” You nod solemnly. “Very well, but I insist on remaining with you to be sure that you keep your word.

[] You will allow him to accompany your most august personage.

[X] You will allow him to accompany your most august personage.
[+] He must wear an appropriate badge of office and allow your current bodyguard to accompany you of course.

You crouch, and quickly take three pieces of paper, folding and pressing and neatly shaping them, even as you send out a call through your shikigami to bring Officer Tadaki to you. When you are finished you stand up and offer him his new badge of office – an origami style Tengu noh mask, crafted by your own hands. He frowns, but accepts it with the reverence due you as his conqueror, and fastens it to his head with the string you thoughtfully provided.

Then you walk over to empty chair and clamber up onto it, standing on it so you can look over the consoles and intercom systems. They're obvious enough, and you notice the sprinkler system is also readily available to you. Confused as you click on the building wide intercom system, he starts to ask what you are doing. But then he hears you speak, and like everyone else, he listens.

It is entirely a matter of convenience that you do not speak. The convenience is yours, of course, because once you learned this ability, you could never make it stop. It is partly illusion, partly enchantment, and partly curse. But what it mostly is, is ~effective~.

“Attention everyone. All prisoners captured at the Araihama Beach are to be released on their own recognizance, with tickets and fines provided for those who actually and truly resisted arrest.” You turn off the intercoms and then turn around to face the awestruck tengu-child with your arms crossed over your chest and looking at him calmly. On the monitors, the police, the SDF, and even the foreign military personal, move to obey your commands.
>>
>>41795054
Because anyone who hears The Voice Of Your Imperial Majesty's Authority hears it in the sound of the person who your words sound like they should be coming from, regardless of who hears it or how many people hear it. Despite common sense and logic, they obey because it is a reasonable request from their superior, in their superior's voice. Even the tengu-child who just saw you do this is slack-jawed and shocked. When he realizes what you've done, he steps towards you angrily, only to be interrupted by the door opening.

“THERE you are, Peta-chan!” Officer Tadaki says as your shikigami fade before the tengu-child notices either of them. “This isn't the restroom! How did you – oh, please excuse me Captain Yoshitsumi, I – what on earth happened in here?!” Captain Yoshitsumi shock fades instantly and his yellow eyes glare daggers at you as he realizes you've rendered him absolutely impotent to harm you. All Officer Tadaki sees is a cute little girl of about seven.

You hold your arms out and Officer Tadaki obligingly picks you up with a smile. “Did you hear, Peta-chan? Now you can go home with your mother!” You nod solemnly, but Officer Yoshitsumi's eyes go wide.

“Peta....Patanjali Piri Yokuhime?!” You nod solemnly at him and his hands clench as he realizes exactly who and what you are. “You....you....” His left hand drops to his sword and he reaches for it with his right hand....

[] You will trust in his sense of honor to come to the fore.
[] You will protect yourself with the labyrinth charm.
[] You will let Officer Tadaki protect you.
[] You will not do anything and let him try to break his word of honor if he can.

[+] Beware The Curse Of The Tengu Mask!

Being the daughter of one of the most infamous murderers in all youkai history does net you a certain reputation. The reputation you made for yourself for being a unabashedly reckless, clever, mischievous, disruptive, and thoroughly uncatchable troublemaker is not much better, now that you consider it, especially with how strict Japanese tend to be. And here he is, having surrendered to you, catching you red-handed in an act of civil disobedience on the level of inciting riots, and he's helpless to do anything but watch.

He starts to reach for you, intending to turn you over his knee if that dour expression is any indicator, but Officer Tadaki steps up, prompted by an unfelt and unseen stiffening of your ears and tail in mock-alarm.

“Officer Yoshitsumi! You behave yourself! Peta-chan has had a very hard day, and we're going to see her mother now! You clean up the mess you made in here right away, and get these people medical assistance.” Her newfound courage serves her well, and the tengu-child grits his teeth, glaring at you and she. Naturally, Officer Tadaki notices his new hat-mask. “Oh, did Peta-chan make that? It really suits you, you know! Please excuse us....” She carries you out into the hallway, and you look over her shoulder to see the tengu-born stepping out into the hallway and glaring at you hatefully.

Which is when the sprinkler system goes off as you set it to do so, drenching everyone, everywhere. You lift up your hand and give him a fox sign; he clenches the hilt of his katana, in impotent rage. Then his tengu-mask unfolds in a wet ~floomph~ and turns into a kind of bonnet shaped hat that covers most of his head. What little you can see of his face turns bright red as his rage grows exponentially. Politely you wave goodbye to him as he steams in the corridor.
>>
>>41795529
Officer Tadaki is laughing and you pet her hair as she jogs down the hallway and half-protects you from the surprise shower with her body. “So sorry, Peta-chan, I haven't the foggiest idea what's gone wrong this-” Her apology is interrupted by the communication system blaring the theme song to Yuri Kuma Arashi. “...wha...?”

To say the hallways are a disaster area is understating the matter, but really, there isn't any violence going on. Everyone is helping each other up or keeping people on their feet, Yakuza, police officers, SDF, and nogitsune-born alike. Tickets are half-heartedly being handed out, and you make sure the few people who deserve them get them with a little bit of help from your yako shikigami spirits. “There she is!” You turn to where Officer Tadaki is pointing out Chisato, who is looking very concerned....in fact, even upset.

Chisato sees you and relief flood her expression, but the worry is still there.

“Peta-chan! Are you okay?!” You nod solemnly, and allow your Chief Retainer to take you into her arms. She refrains from kissing you, which is a pity, but understandable. She gives Tadaki-sama a half-hearted bow as Soomi and her new friend Chujo-sama start towards you through the crowd as well. “Thank you for taking care of my daughter,” Chisato says, which earns her a look from you since you're sure you had written it the other way around. No matter, she'll learn her place well enough in time.

Tadaki-sama is surprised, blushes a little, and bows. “Of course ma'am! It is my duty! Please be careful on your way home!”
>>
>>41795556
You nod solemnly to her and cuddle with Chisato, who whispers in your ear. “Those European bastards took Reiha somewhere. I think they're the people who organized all this.” You consider and nod. “Should we go after her?”

You shake your head. Reiha is strong enough to be on her own, despite her youth; she looks like a bimbo, yes, but she's actually quite resourceful. Besides, you have family and friends to take care of here. And without having to say a word, your Chief Retainer realizes it as well: “Actually, it's better to just trust her, after all. We have to get all our people safely home and away from here before whatever you did wears off.” Chisato kisses your cheek and you hug her neck, sighing happily.

Yes, she's just the perfect one for you. Ryukusa really did choose well. She and Tadaki-sama will get along just fine too. You'll make sure of it.

Is Peta interested in Tadaki the same way she is in Chisato, or is it just a "nice toy" deal?
>>
>>41795755
Your trip changed, XS.
>>
>>41795801
Peta is a very old nogitsune-child. Her techniques are refinements of those her father possessed (illusion, trickery, and voice changing), combined with enough experience and skill to manipulate actual (if weaker) nogitsune spirits.
>>

Thanks for running. Hope we can get a Yui POV in the future.

Same, that dip into Yuuhi's PoV showed some quite interesting things.

XS, how dangerous does Yuuhi usually appear to be, and does this slight viewing of her spirit suggest she is far more dangerous and powerful then any might realize?
>>
>>41796109
Yuuhi appears at times to be an airheaded cute little fluffball who may be senile.

But in combat situations, as near as Ryukuza can tell, she's quite possibly as dangerous as Musashi Miyamoto. She's attained a level of swordsmanship that is truly Zen in it's perfection. Her power of Ghost Flame is equally deadly, for different reasons.

Despite that, Yuuhi is still a bubbleheaded twit at times. And Ryukusa thinks that she may actually BE that airheaded - it doesn't seem like any sort of act!
>>
>>41796277
She's cute enough to get away with it
>>
>>41795947
What legit fronts does Chisato operate?
I'm sure that Peta would like to have Chisato invite Tadaki over for playtime.
>>
>>41796743
Legitimate fronts that Chisato controls are mostly on the order of small businesses that she protects well, a few storefronts she funds, and a number of redistribution centers she is an investor in.

In other words, not much.

On the other hand, she and her people are well known for being fair minded and not very obtrusive, other than this particular incident which really had nothing to do with her people at all. As a result, she's less likely to be harassed by the police in her areas than most other groups of thugs are, especially since "she" minimized casualties by not allowing guns to be used on her side of things, by some miracle *coughwaterdragonettecough*.
