/tg/ - Traditional Games

You are Big Tink Zognik da Githog of the Skar Krew Tribe, your recent days have been more than successful and your clan is prospering as quickly as your numbers grow, as well as the loot you have gained over the course of one night. You have looted an entire village, and it is not an overstatement. Your boyz literally took floor panels from houses and everything else, they really did not want to fall behind in terms of loot, and since very little was screwed to the ground.. Nevertheless, you had a lot of time to decide who you want to be, and the decision came quickly. You always had a knack for technical gubbinz inside of you. It was matter of sparking it up, and since you did that now, you have spent your days fiddling with..

>You have finally made the skull into a proper boss carriage driven by now broken and drugged boars.
>You have worked on your personal belongings. No boss can swag around without bling on himself.
>You have worked on the hut. Hut's bling is equal to your status after all!
>You have worked on the tribe. Your orks have looted an entire village, so you can turn this place into something more sturdy and capable of defense and just overall quality of the huts and what not.
>Something else? (Write-in)

You have, besides yourself, Mista Woodbrain and 5 other, unnamed tinkers that can work on other tasks you didn't pick if you order them to do so. If not, they will just fiddle and diddle with their own technological advancements and Mista Woodbrain will most likely help you passively unless you tell him to do some other stuff.

Your inventory is full of stuff, there's no point for me to list the things you have looted, just ask and I'll see if you got it or not.

You are still on the small, 1/2 week of in-quest time timeskip after the village raid.

Boss carriage from the snake scull.

Also, would it be possible to tinker with the human machines (like crossbows)? We really need a way to improve our tribe's dakka beyond merely throwing rocks.

>You have worked on the tribe. Your orks have looted an entire village, so you can turn this place into something more sturdy and capable of defense and just overall quality of the huts and what not.

More room for more boyz, more squig pens, more farms. We'ze the biggest so we'ze tha boss, and a proppa boss needs a proppa group of boyz.
>>
>>41705526
Most of them are either:

A) Too small for you
B) Too big for grots
C) Too fragile for ork styled usage of items
D) Mixture of some of the points above.

This however doesn't mean they're useless, they gave you idea on how to properly propel projectiles.

We need Ork Mountain to be safe from pesky humans.

We have plenty of wood and shit to muck about with so.

What this git said
>>
>>41705697

Makes sense. We're also orks so we can make something work if we just think it should work, regardless of whether the laws of physics say it should actually work. Maybe, once we get a chariot, we can get some kind of automated crossbow launcher. I'm thinking of like, dual crossbows that are reloaded by the forward motion of the chariot (like connected to spokes on the wheels). Of course, this is tremendously impractical, inaccurate, and a waste of ammunition for humans. For orks, however...
>>
>>41705697
You do know how it works, crossbows aren't rocket science and neither are bows and you know that bendy bit+stretchy bit+rok=fast rok.
>>
>>41705758
Na, we get a chariot, then we mount a siege crossbow on it, and we cart it around and lob tree trunk sized bolts at people and buildings.

You were quick to order the other, clearly less skillful (Except Mista Woodbrain) Tinkers to work on things you find beneath yourself to worry. Sending 2 tinkers to build something that will break stone walls, 1 to equip the boars properly and you make sure that the black thingy is gathered and science'd upon with 2 tinkers and Woodbrain himself. And you did the only thing you thought to be a true test of your tech skills, upgrading the tribe.

It takes lots of time, upgrading the huts, ordering the boyz to set up the wooden walls and other things to protect the tribe from invaders. A lot of them did their job however, and you have finally done it, the place being now much more deserving of being called orky.

>Living place upgraded: You are now on ground to protect yourself if there would be an attack on your territory, the huts have been upgraded as well and general happiness of your band has increased as well as your opinion among your boyz.

But now, you need to see how others have done on their jobs..

The siege engines were well made you got to admit. The tinkers did their job and when you went to see the advances on their task, your eyes were greeted with two decent looking primite Lobba's made out of materials mostly looted from the village with a few spiky bits and wheels, just in case some smart grot decides to ram the thing into something. Speaking of rams, there is one being built as well, but it still will take a moment to finish.

Then you went to see on how the boars were taken care of. And you were hugely surprised because not only you got saddles that actually let you sit on the damn animal, but some (including yours) were given metal bits! In cooperation with some dokks, some of the boars were given metal plating screwed directly onto the boar, increasing their survivability in battle by lots!

And last job, the fuel. Mista Woodbrain reported that they managed to set up actual pumping mechanism in the mountain, giving a steady, if not a bit slow (still faster than letting it just drip) leakage to gather up into barrels. He also said that he's in the middle of making a weapon that uses this liquid. A giant barrel that when crashed, explodes in fiery rage, definitely useful for the Lobba's/catapults.

Now that you have went over the things. You return to current time, what will you do boss?

>>
>>41706900
You need to keep the morale high, and to do that, you need more things to krump. And to find more things to krump, you need to search for them.

Setting out your boyz, you tell them to scout out the nearby locations, smartly, you tell them to use the boars and to focus on the road, because where there are roads, there are humies. Without a word of insubordination, they hop on and with loud taunts leave the gate you have made and set out to search. You doubt they will come back soon or with empty hands, so you can kill your time with tinkering of your own. You need to work on your own personal bling now, after all, no self-respecting Big Tink/Mech can walk around with rotting gear can he now?

Entering your workshop, you sit your massive rump on a chair and start pondering as to what you can work on..

>Your personal gear (weapon, armor)

>>
Well this was a tad obvious.

Writing.
>>
>>41707150
Time to make some pieces of garbage useful!

Hauling the skull inside, you prep it up against some holders and have it hover a bit in the air, just enough to squeeze under the thing and work on it from the underneath. This, of course, will be used to make a carriage, maybe even a chassis for future use, but for now, you focus on what you have.

>SKULL CHASSIS (4 U): Reasonably sturdy thing, it can take a total of 8 units worth of weight without breaking/reaching a level where the chance to break upon use outweighs the worth of it even by orkish standards.

>ALPHA METABOAR (ENGINE): Heavy thing, biggest, fastest, strongest of the bunch you can go out and take. It can drag 10 units worth of weight.

>ITEMS TO USE: Lots of wood, some metal, some additional boars, some rocks if you deem it necessary.

Allow me to explain the crafting system now. Things will cost weight, shortly referred to as U, the weight limits can be raised/lowered and such by your decisions. Reinforcing the chassis, for example, will raise the limit the chassis can pick up, but will increase its weight. Items, depending on their size and material, will vary in weight cost.

This will be a multistage crafting process and hopefully all will go properly and I won't have to fiddle with this piece of shit too much to make it unbearable for me and you lots.

You may spent BRUTAL CUNNIN points to do some fancy stuff as well.

Treads are gonna be shit without some force turning the axel, I say we stick with an orky chariot since its pulled by a boar
>>
>>41707701
>>41707675
>>41707723
I don't think that the boar is strong enough to pull the car with the same speed if we put threads, and I also thing that the terrain ain't that heavy to warrant something like this.

Perhaps once we have an engine.

No treads then. So, what's your wheels guys? So far I see.

This, treads only work well with engines.

Yup
>>

I'd say metal to save weight, I dont see a situation where we would need sleds yet

Metal Wheels. We can do the sled thing when we need it, save on a bit of weight for arms and armor.
>>
>>41707820

>>41707820
I think we only need sleds if the terrain is swampy enough. If not only wheels are good. If there are lots of swamps out there then make the switching mechanism.

Maybe when we get engines and grow the clan we can find a good mountainside someplace, and hold competitions for the fastest racer, down a near sheer incline cliff face.

Wheels, yes, wheels are good, wheels make things go, or well, allow things to go faster than they would without having wheels, it's complicated as to why that works, you are not going to explain it further than it has to be.

Grabbing some wheels, you either 'fix' them or add metal to the point where they are fit to be used and you promptly mount them on the sides of the skull. Few tests after mounting them show that you forgot to make the foremost ones turn. Few edits and tests later, everything is in place where it should be.

>TOTAL WEIGHT: 5.5 U.

>TOTAL WEIGHT YOU CAN DRAG: 10 U

Now... Armaments, yes, no car, or carriage in this case, can go without a weapon of sorts here! You must make sure it can stand up to things by BLOWING THEM UP. Or destroy them, you can't make things actually explode... Yet.

>CHASSIS BASED ARMAMENTS

That's more weight than we have left, we only have 4.5 to spend.

With a medium lobba we could shoot out the boyz we have with us

With a small lobba we could shoot out grotz

or ballista, I became uncertain.

Reminding that the chassis can take only 8 U. worth of stuff on it without any reinforces and things like that. Do the math if you will.
>>
>>41708173
Didn't we have 4.5 left?

>>41708173
You should probably have mentioned that a bit more clearly, I think most of us were going by the 10 U drag limit as what we could fit to it.

So wait, you're counting the wheels as something that the chassis has to hold up?

That was just for the boar.

For the chassis, you have 6.5 U. IF my math doesn't fail me.

Drag limit can be increased with more boars.

Yes. Which now, I realized just how retarded it fucking sounds given the function of wheels.

>>
>>41708245
Don't worry, You gave me a brain tumor as well!
>>
We need to send some boyz out to forage for berries. That way we can make red paint.
>>
The chassis can hold 8 U.

The chassis weights, by itself, 4 U.

The single boar can drag 10 U.

The wheels do not add up to the Chassis limit, they do however count towards the DRAG limit until further notice as I break down this crafting system for next thread.

I am terribly sorry guys, tried avoiding making it complicated, stepped into shit instead.
>>
>>41708310
>not using the blood of your enemies
You know nothing of Evil Sunz tradition.
>>
>>41708315
Okay, so so far we have used up 5.5 of the weight limit of the chassis, which means we have 2.5 remaining. In that case I vote for just metal spikes everywhere.

nah, we're just lazy

I'm in favor of just sticking a bunch of spears in there for throwing.
>>
>>41708358
I will agree with this.
>>
>>41708375
What if we spend Brutal Cunnin to have the spikes be spears that we could take off and throw?
>>
>>41708358
Look at this >>41708217
>>
>>41708315
>>41708358
YOU MAY

Reinforce the Chassis, to make it handle more, BUT. IT WILL increase its WEIGHT.
>>
>>41708358
No no, we have 4.5 left (10-5.5=4.5) unless we bring in more boars, in which case we could potentially bring it up to 8.

So I say metal spikes everywhere plus big ballista, spending a point to make the wheelspikes into propper scythes if need be.
>>
>>41708392
May as well increase the weight then, we could add a second boar to the chariot.
>>
>>41708401
As wrong as that guy was, he was talking about chasis weight limit, which is 8.
>>
do we need to leave weight for us or is that included?
>>
>Increase the weight limit of the Chassis at cost of its weight? (Gain 2 U. at cost of 1 U. of weight.)
>>
>>41708485
You are taken into that, don't worry about your weight, only the limits you are provided with.
>>
>>41708487
y
>>
>>41708487
Sure as long as the boar can carry it.
>>
>>41708487
To clarify I should rest because I write like shit

You will increase Chassis limit by 2 U at cost of increasing its total weight by 1 U.
>>
>>41708487
>>41708522
Yes
>>
Finding the creaking worrisome to say the least. You put a few strong pieces of metal and wood all over the crucial parts of the carriage, making it much more capable of carrying things at the cost of its own weight.

>CHASSIS WEIGHT: 5 U.
>CHASSIS LIMIT: 10 U.

>THE BOAR HAS 3.5 U. LEFT

>Add more boars? (1 METABOAR can handle 4 units, normal boar can take 2 U.)

>>
>>41708739
I thought spikes count as scythed wheels?
>>
>>41708745
Spikes are pointy, scythes are sharpened and pointy. There's a subtle difference that increases the efficiency.
>>
>>41708739
yes. spend ALL the points.
>>
>>41708662
A lobba is going to be ineffective, A ballista isn't.
>>
>>41708761
How the hell is it worth a brutal cunnin point then? Even to an ork it's common sense.
>>
>>41708766

what? no. lobbas are cannons. they're better than ballistae in every way.
>>
>>41708739
>>41708762
Well as long as we don't get ambushed, or do anything that day, we might as well.

>>41708766
I rather go with lobba, so we can project boyz out of the cart. Could at useful at sieges

>>41708766
>>
>>41708785
It's a scythe anon. It bends as well to that. That is something orks cannot just come up with willy-nilly.

Arguing with GM is a bad idea in most cases. This is one of them.
>>
>>41708890
Not butthurt i'm just saying that it doesn't make sense, I mean all you have to do is get a square spike and sharpen all the edges and then stick it onto the chariot wheel and bam you have a chariot scythe!
>>41708903
Ork smarts are genetic anon.
>>
>>41708918
Their genetics are triggered by situations and time.
>>
>>41708918
And yet, the biggest Orks are always the most cunning ones.
>>

>>
>>41708012
Big, spikes. Lobba? Yes, your hands start screwing and bending materials, connecting one thing to another via rope, glue or any other 'adhesive' material you have under your massive orky hands. Not limited to just those as a hammer will work wonders nailing something into its place.

It takes a lot of time, but you prepared the rather hilariously big Lobba, almost as big as the ones your Tinks made. It is located a bit to the front of the skull. This however forced you to find another Metaboar, which you did just moments before he was about to get a new, not as good as you owner.

Screwing things into their place, all seems ready.. Oh yes, armor.

>Spread out wood evenly (Less on back, more on side, most at front. 1 U)
>WOOD EVERYWHERE (Well rounded armor at all sides, 1,5 U)
>Spread out metal evenly (1.5 U)
>METAL EVERYWHERE (2.5 U)

>>
>>41709092
You find it troublesome that you can't just slap metal everywhere to make sure that the carriage won't just crash down after being hit, so you make sure that the bit you will be showing off the most to the enemy is most secured, then the places you will show the second most and so on. You end up with an even spread that you can find in a lot of armored vehicles, least in back, moderately on sides and the most in front.

Wiping the sweat off your forehead, you hatch on the two boars which butt heads, the bigger one clearly winning and taking up its position as the leader of this carriage. Then you hop onto the back and order them to move.

Slowly, they lift off, pushing the carriage as you drive it around the place with a smug expression on your face, with a hand prepped on the ride and your head resting on the palm and your legs crossed. You bathe yourself in the shock and awe you are given, some whistling even while others poke each other and talk, more than likely about getting enough teef to get a pimping ride like yours, maybe even FROM you.

Yes. A ride, you should test drive it soon, very, very soon.. But for now.
