"Alright guys, dig in" Safi says.

Kyla is the first to get a forkful into her mouth, chew, and swallow.

"Yummy!" She says.
"It's the added blood that really brings the flavours out" Dwight says.
"Less yummy" Kyla says.
"Don't worry about him, Kyla" Safi says. "I got all the blood off before I added that stuff"

You tune the conversation out, resting your elbow on the table and your chin on your hand, and eating the tasty curry while your mind wanders.

You haven't gotten a chance to mentally work out anything from that-... those dreams. It's clear now that they were 2 separate dreams: one that somehow manages to trigger both arousal and horror within you whenever you're reminded of it, and another that was so peaceful that it calmed you almost entirely before your gentle awakening. Hell, it's probably the only reason why you didn't lose your shit when you woke up with Safi.

You also haven't had the chance to talk with Ms. Browning again. This whole gathering was a little unexpected, and you appreciate the thought of them coming to visit you when you're "sick", but you kinda wish that you could get down to business.

That said, your body feels surprisingly responsive, even more so than before. Ignoring the fact that you nearly sliced your finger off (which was due to a distraction), you feel somehow quicker.

You put your focus back to the table and find that you're not the only one being quiet. Abigail is also sitting silently.

You look over at her, and see her completely red in the face, sniffling as little tears streak down her cheeks.

"You okay?" You ask.

Abigail opens her mouth to answer, and starts coughing.

"Too spicy, huh?" You ask.
She nods.
"I'll get you something, hang on" You say.

"Oh! Sorry Abigail!" Safi says. "I'm so used to having spicy stuff when we get together that I didn't think about you"
Abigail smiles weakly and waves her off.

You grab her a glass of milk and hand it to her. She takes it and downs half the glass in one go.

"Ahhh... thanks" She says.
"No problem" You say. "Not a fan of spice?"
"I'm just... not used to it" She says. "Caught me off guard"
"Do you want something else?" You ask. "It won't be quite as fancy, but I know a few quick things that I could-"
"No, I'll be fine" She says, looking at her food with determination. "Thanks for the offer, but I'm not about to be beaten by a little spice"

You shrug. "Suit yourself" You say.

As you sit down, you feel a buzzing in your pocket.

[Dwight]>Bet you 20 bucks that she can't take it

[Dwight]<I'll take that bet.

Dwight looks up from his phone and nods to you. The two of you both finish eating, watching Abigail the whole time.

She never stops. It's like she knows that if she stops, she'll never be able to continue. Sweat drips down both her and Dwight's brow, as she gets closer and closer to finishing.

With a trembling hand, she brings the final forkful to her mouth, chews and swallows, and then downs the rest of the milk you brought her before dropping her head on the table.

"You gonna be okay?" You ask.
She takes a couple heavy breaths before answering. "Give me a minute"

You smile at Dwight, grabbing Abigail's glass and refilling it. You bring it back to her and put it in her hand, and she gleefully downs it again.

"Thank you" She says with a smile, putting the glass back down and resting her head on the table again.

Well, that was an easy 20 bucks. You'll have to thank Abigail for her perseverance sometime.

Judging by her words when you two left the bathroom, you get the feeling that she'll do her best to give you that chance...

You shake your head, it's time to-

You start clearing away all the plates.

"Hey, I was gonna do that" Yui says.
"Then you can help" You say.
"Making your guests help clean up, Saif?" Veer says.
"The only one here that counts as a guest is Abigail" You say. "The rest of you may as well be helping with the rent at this point"

"You gonna start shakin' us down?" Dwight asks.
"I might" You say. "I know a couple ways to break legs that I've been dying to try"

Yui hits your arm. "Bad Saif! No leg breaking!"
"What about his arms?" You ask.
"No breaking!"
"Can I rough him up a bit?" You ask.

Yui looks back at Dwight, who gives her his best 'puppy-dog-eyes'.

"Maybe a little" She says.
"Aww man" Dwight says.

You smack your fist against your palm. "You heard the lady" You say.
Yui pulls on your sleeve. "After you're done cleaning" She says.

The clean-up passed quickly, especially with Yui's help. And now everyone is sitting in various spots around the living area.

Abigail is sitting back in the corner of your couch with Moriarty, who you "commanded" to go and comfort her. Yui and Kyla are sharing the smaller chair, with Safi sitting on the floor in front of it. You're next to Abigail, with Dwight and Veer on your other side.

Dwight is rubbing his leg where you gave him a charley horse in passing as you made your way to your seat.

"So, what now?" You ask.
"We could watch something" Safi says.
"Like what?" Yui asks.
"Oh! We could finish watching that one-... uhh..." Kyla says.
"Durarara?" You ask. "I think everyone's seen that already"

Kyla pouts.

"I still haven't seen last weekend's blade works" Yui says. "Too busy"
"That could work" You say.
"What's Blade works?" Abigail asks.
"Or not" You say. "We can't just jump right in on the 18th episode if she hasn't seen it"
"Sure we can" Yui says.
"We could start from the beginning" Veer says. "I think we have time"

You check your watch, it's 7:00

"We could do that, I guess" You say. "Any objections?"
The response from the room is a resounding 'no', so you get started.

You open up your laptop and grab Yui's hard-drive, angling the screen so everyone can see and starting the first episode.

Unfortunately you don't have a bigger screen than this, but this has always sufficed. If anyone didn't like it, they'd've complained a long time ago.

The first episode goes by quickly, and when it's done you turn to Abigail. "What did you think?" You ask.
"Put on the next one" She says.

You'll take that to mean she likes it...

You get the next episode going...

>[1/2]

That would actually be a pretty great way to take him/her out, if he's/she's as dangerous as they say.

It gets to be about 11:20, as you're putting on the 11th episode when Yui stands up.

"I'd love to keep going, but I should probably get home before it gets too dark" Yui says.

"What time is it?" Veer asks.
"11:20" You say.
"Dang, it's that late already?" Safi says. "I should hit the road too"

Seems like everyone's getting up to leave, so you see them all to the door. Saying your byes and see-you-laters as they go, and taking your twenty from Dwight.

"I left my drive, since you wanted some stuff off of it" Yui says. "Just bring it back to me tomorrow"
"Sure thing" You say.

With everyone gone, you shut the door and consider giving Ms. Browning a call. But then you walk back in and see Abigail smiling at you.

"Well, come on. Put the next one on, it's starting to get good" She says.

Oh dear...

So long as we don't do it through forced coercion and don't let anyone who can share what we did in on the plot.

If we forcibly keep people out of the arena on a night it will give them grounds to demand our death the next night on the grounds of us doing that.

Theres the link that muddled. Saif still has no reason to suspect the people around him of being part of the Arena yet. That might change soon though.
>>
>>41653545
We can also ask the hard hitting question of "Did you end up killing friends/family, when you were a champion?"
>>
You bite the bullet and go back to the couch, sitting down with some space between you and Abigail, and starting the next episode.

Abigail wastes no time in erasing the space between you, and before the OP is even halfway done she has an arm around yours and her head on your shoulder...

When the episode ends, she stretches out and stands up. "Give me a minute, I need to call home and let them know I'll be late" She says.

So she's in this for the long haul...

Abigail walks over to the kitchen and pulls out her phone, calling someone and speaking in German for several minutes.

While she's talking, notifications start to come in. The Smith joins, then The Gambler, The Puppeteer and the Keeper, then The Traitor. After a few minutes, The Shifter, The Liar and The Spy join. Then The Judge and The Muse. And finally, The Creator and The Butcher.

Looks like a bit of a free-for-all...

Lots of unknowns in there, it could be worth checking out if you could make some excuse to disappear for 15 minutes.

It's easy, we 'command' Moriarty to escape, and chase him out of the apartment, leaving her to watch the episodes without us, 'til we get back. Easy way to excuse 15 minutes.

One line we have to say to Stonehand, if we save her life.

>"Weeeeellllll, after crushing my head, I figured I owed you one"
>>
You throw your hat into the ring.

[Arena]>The Guardian will be entering the Arena.

"Hey, Abigail" You say quietly.

Abigail covers her phone and looks at you expectantly.

"I've gotta step out for a bit. I'll be back in ten, fifteen minutes tops" You say.
"No worries" She says.

You head out the front door, and go to the elevator.

More messages come in, heralding the entry of the rest of the Champions.

That's all of them. All 20 Champions will be there tonight.

"Saif, wait" Kyla says.
"What's up?" You ask.
Kyla gets up close to you and talks in a hushed tone. "I made an addition to your uniform. You'll probably be wanting something more than just your fists tonight" She says.
"So you're aware of what a shitstorm this is going to be then?" You ask.
"I am" She says, grabbing your hand and squeezing it. "You can do this"

Then Kyla disappears, though your hand is still warm. You smile.

"At least someone is rooting for me..." You say.

You reach down to your sides, where a new weight has been strapped to your belt. You now have 2 very familiar swords.

"Kanshou and Bakuya... Kyla you weeb..." You say, giving them a few test swings. You're not a stranger to swordfighting, but you've never done anything involving 2 swords before...

You'll have to treat them like extensions of your fist, and fight as such. You have no time to practice.

Now is the time to get focused.

All around you, shining doorways open up and let the various champions into the Arena.

For some, this is their first time seeing it. You're no stranger to this place, though. You know it well by now, its hazards and its obstacles.

You enter fast-time and make a beeline for The Scholar, hopefully they're still willing to help you out. Even if they did almost blow you up the other night...

Let's just call that an accident...

As you run, a portal opens in front of your face.

"Already?" You ask, ducking down and to the side as a lance pierces the spot where your head was. You re-enter real-time and search for The Traveller, only to have your view filled by The Berserker's fist.

You enter slow-time and take the hit, shooting back into real-time to counter.

Your transitions are faster now, you can definitely feel that much. And it's taking less focus to go farther into slow or fast time than it used to.

You arc both of your blades in an 'X' across the Berserker's chest, forcing him to hop backwards. You try to close the gap, but the Traveller's Lance blocks your path.

Then your feet leave the ground, as gravity around you stops being a thing...

You're still in a good position to defend yourself. One of the standing torches of this Arena is within arm's reach, which will allow you to maneuver even without gravity.

However, The Traveller's Lance is also within your grasp. You could use that to launch a renewed assault on the Berserker.

Either way, you're kind of holding out for a hand either way; as you can't hold off 3 Champions on your own...

You grab the Traveller's Lance and yank it, sending yourself flying towards The Berserker. You thrust with Kanshou-... or is this one Bakuya? You can never remember...

You thrust with your right, and The Berserker twists out of the way. The Traveller tries to get you again, so you enter fast-time and catch the Lance, using it once more to position yourself in this awkward 0-gravity.

The Berserker is above you, and he plants his feet on the grated metal ceiling to launch himself down at you.

As you ready yourself to counter, gravity returns, and then it increases...

You throw your arms up in front of you and enter slow-time, but The Berserker never connects. He's forced on the defensive by a hail of bullets.

You can only guess where those came from. Hopefully it's the help you were waiting for...

The Lance comes cleanly out of your stomach, and you feel a wet warmth run down your leg. It hurts like hell, but you're not done yet.

The Berserker expects to find you weakened. He comes in with confidence. Sometimes that can be a good thing, but not here.

You twist around his fist and into his guard, landing your right knee squarely in his gut.

The leg you struck with snaps back, as you turn you draw your right sword across his neck. He bends back to get away from that attack, but your real attack comes from below. Your left arm straightens out, planting your left sword firmly in his side.

His surprise is tangible, and in this moment you could pull the sword up and he'd be done... All you'd have to do is give it a yank...

Just... kill him...

The moment passes, and you're forced to retreat as the Lance comes out of nowhere once more.

You look at the white sword in your left hand, stained red with blood. You could've killed him there. You aren't sure whether that's a good thing or not...

Either way, The Berserker isn't taking the pain as well as you are, and he seems to be out of the fight for now.

Remember, we can afford to die horribly once every ten minutes, so a serious wound isn't THAT serious unless it translates over to real life, in which case we might want to self terminate once before we get out of the arena. Also this could mean we can in theory do something retarded like bring a single pipe bomb into the arena with us and suicidally detonate it on someone.

Do you think we could translate an acme rocket over or something?
>>
You enter fast-time and look around for The Scholar, and find them going mano-a-mano with a Champion you don't recognize.

Well, they were nice enough to help you out... probably. Even if that somehow wasn't them, they're still your best prospect for an alliance; and you can't exactly ally with them when they're dead.

Without hesitation, you throw the blood-stained white sword at the Champion currently engaging the Scholar.

They disengage from the Scholar and dodge your blade. Unlike the Kanshou and Bakuya from Fate, these ones don't attract each other, so the white sword keeps going and eventually hits the ground instead of coming back.

You're kind of disappointed, but it's not a huge loss. You quickly close the distance and engage the Champion.

They jump away from you, and flip a coin...

Thats just a general quirk of writing, most writers unless they are insanely good will usually write the same personalitied main character, unless they explicitly try to make a main character that isn't that.

Just look at exabyte for example, the psion quest and sorceress quest MC are basically the same character.
>>

If you're right, this is the Gambler.

And if this is the Gambler, then that coin flip could end very badly for you. He's out of striking distance, and you won't close the gap before he can catch the coin.

So you do use the last option available to you, and throw your remaining sword in the hopes that it'll put him on guard and he won't catch the coin.

But he doesn't expect it. And the sword plants itself firmly into his face.

You watch in horror as The Gambler collapses.

A voice plays through the arena. It's cold and feminine.

"The Gambler has been slain"

Holy shit. You just fucking killed someone.

"Nice arm" The scholar says. "Thanks for the save"
You look blankly at them, a look that probably doesn't come across under the mask.

Now that you can get a good look at them, the Scholar is definitely female. They're wearing a simple suit with an overcoat, and their mask is a half-face harlequin mask.

You put a hand on the wound in your side. It's still bleeding, and to be honest you're starting to feel the blood loss. Judging from the angle and the position, you think they might have gotten your liver.

"I'll live" You say.
"I wasn't talking about-... nevermind" She says.

You walk over to the dead body and retrieve your sword. There's blood on this one now too, but it's black and therefore less noticeable.

"I was hoping to-" you say
"Later" The scholar says, cutting you off. "I know, and we can talk later. Take this"

The Scholar hands you a piece of paper.

"It's my number. Give me a call sometime tomorrow" She says.
You take the paper and pocket it, looking around the arena for what to do next.

It looks like the Gamblers allies: The Puppeteer and the Keeper, are busy fighting off Stonehand and The Butcher. Off to the side, The Tyrant and The Glutton are fighting it out. And closer to you, the Smith and the Traitor are having some trouble with The Shifter, Liar, and Spy...

The Traitor and the Smith are outnumbered, and even though they have the home advantage they still seem to be on the ropes.

They helped you out the other night when the Berserker had you on the back foot, you might as well return the favour.

You turn and nod to The Scholar, before running off to where the fighting is. Your stomach hurts, and your vision is starting to blur, but you've still got it in you to keep going.

You find your gait slowing, and your vision darkens further.

As you approach, the Spy and the Liar get the Smith away from the Traitor. Meanwhile The Shifter, through a sequence of nasty blows that would've made even you scramble to defend, gets a hand on the Traitor's neck.

You're not quite close enough...

You grit your teeth. You know that hold. He's going for a snap.

Using the last bit of power your have left in you, you force yourself into fast-time. Approaching much faster than any human being could react, you don't even bother slowing down as your blade makes contact with the Shifter's arm.

His arm comes clean off, and you break every bone in yours at once. It hurts like hell, and you stifle a cry of pain as you let the blade go. It spins a few times in the air as you return to real time and catch it with your left hand

Then you swing it again, cutting a second arc across the space currently occupied by the Shifter's neck.

Again, you expect some sort of defense. But the Shifter is still mentally reeling from the loss of his arm, and your blade strikes true.

"The Shifter had been slain" The feminine 'arena voice' says.

Two people died tonight, and both of them died by your hand.

'It's for the best' you tell yourself. But is that really true?

As you question your morals, The Spy pulls a small pistol and blows a hole in your face.

You bring yourself back a ways away from the carnage, watching from afar. You feel like you've done enough for one night.

The momentary distraction of The Spy was all The Smith needed, as he bathed the Liar in oil and dried him down with a blast of fire from his bellows.

It was a few minutes before the Liar's death was announced. No one else was killed, as the rest of the fights ended up being stalemates. The Muse and the Judge never showed themselves.

Shortly after the Liar died, the Arena closed, and you found yourself back outside the elevator.

You lean your head against it for a minute, before remembering that Abigail is still in your apartment.

You head back, and find her laying back on your couch.

"What took you so long?" She asks.

You shrug. You definitely could use something to take your mind off the fact that you just killed two people, and then died. And before that you stuck the Berserker, got impaled, and broke every bone in your arm.

Let's not think about that. Instead, let's focus on the pretty foreign girl that's been making advances on you almost all night.

Or not. We could also focus on the show...

Which is on the verge of going into its 'low point', where Shirou and Rin find themselves without servants and therefore outgunned at every turn...

Oh fuck it, let's focus on the pretty foreign girl.

You walk over and sit down next to Abigail, and she immediately resumes her previous position. Like this, it's easy to forget that you went anywhere in the first place...

The episode ends, and you somehow manage to stay awake throughout it.

You check your watch and see that it's now 1am. Your higher brain is telling you that you should send Abigail home and get some sleep.

But your lower brain is only registering the fact that at some point during the episode, you decided to get comfortable and lay back on the couch. Abigail it seems, had a similar idea, as she is currently lying down next to you.

You could've done something about this, and to be honest you probably should have. But you find yourself lacking in the 'giving a damn' department at the moment...

You can't exactly get to your computer to start the next episode in this position, and you get the feeling that was exactly what she wanted.

Once you get inside, Abigail stands on the wall opposite you, and glances your way every now and then.

"If it makes you feel any better... I promise that I won't try anything..." She says.
"No funny business?" You ask.
She nods.
"I never said that" You say, letting the lower head get its way for once.

She looks surprised, but returns to her usual confident smile.

"Well, if you insist" She says, getting closer to you until her hip bumps yours.

By the time you reach the 7th floor again, you and Abigail are making out. The two of you hurry back to your room, where you lay her down on the couch and go right back to making out.

After a few minutes Abigail flips you over, taking the top and whipping your shirt off.

Her eyes light up when she sees your torso, and she runs a hand over your abs. "Impressive" She says.

Way to be, Saif.

And here I was being optimistic that this might not lead to sex. Color me pissed.

>From the Abigail perspective

Abigail pulls away, noticing that her partner has become strangely unresponsive.

She looks down and pokes his chest a few times.

"Aww... just when things were getting fun" She says.

After all, her plan had worked perfectly, and even though she had to resort to playing off sympathy; Saif had finally accepted her advances.

"Well, he did say he was tired" She says, pouting.

Abigail plants one more kiss on his lips before grabbing a blanket and settling in next to him on the (surprisingly roomy) couch.

"We'll have to continue this another time" She says, closing her own eyes.

After all, the thrill of the hunt is in the chase...

Clever girl.
>>
That's all for tonight!

Next thread will be sometime this week. I'll continue giving a few hours notice on twitter, as that seems to be working.

As always I'll be sticking around for queestions/suggestions
>>
>>41660462
You have no idea how much I hate everyone, right now.
>>
>>41660484
Thanks for the run.

Is it safe to assume Puppeteer, Spy, and Keeper are gunning for us now?
>>
>>41660502
Lighten up, dude's a teenager he'll feel bad about it later.
>>41660484
Thanks for running boss, have a good one.
>>
>>41660484
Thanks for running! How surprised were you that those things happened with abigail?
>>
>>41660502
Physically and mentally exhausted teenager with hormones can slip up sometimes, its not the end of the world.
>>
>>41660502
It's pretty realistic to be honest. Girls who are both attractive and forward get what they want.
>>
>>41660502
I just wish everyone would make up their damn minds.

>Guys, let's take every option to do stuff with Claire
>Guys, let's nail this german chick

It's like... really?

Just because you have a crush doesn't mean you can't have an impulsive make out session every once in a while.
>>
>>41660591
I like playing not perfect humans that can give in to temptation if the situation is right.

There is no 'path' here.
>>
>>41660507
Unlike Saif, most of these people are/were professionals. Personal grudges get in the way of keeping your head clear.
That said, they would still totally kill you if given the chance.

>>41660526
Abigail planned this so... not very.
>>
>>41660654
Salty anon, here. I apologize for being a jerk.
I just liked how things were going with Claire, and this left a bad taste in my mouth.

That being said, I didn't want to drag the thread down, or insult anybody; I look forward to the next thread.
>>
>>41660773
No worries anon, salt is expected whenever romance is involved
>>
>>41660773
S'all good brother, nothing came from this. Just look forward to really romancing Claire.
>>
>>41660856
>>41660892
Much appreciated. I AM a bit worried about Jessica's reaction, if she finds out about this, though...
>>
>>41660921
Isn't abigail claires lifelong rival? This us gonna cause some problems
>>
>>41660940
They gonna fight over Saif, and it'll be glorious.
>>
>>41660940
I know right?
It's almost like that's half the reason she set her eyes on you in the first place.
>>
>>41660921
>>41660940
Exactly why I was against it, and the chance that Ms. Browning might think we're trash.

Like I said though, what's done is done.
>>
>>41660975
Lust can't get her everywhere, especially when Saif actually likes Claire.
>>
>>41660982
We're teenagers, she'll understand and might even get jealous
>>
>>41660975
Yeah that was obvious. Should be interesting. At least she didn't leave any hickeys
>>
>>41660975
Other half is looking like a Calvin Klein Model?
>>
>>41660975
So did she do this to compete with or just to hurt claire?
>>
>>41661069
Yes.
>>
>>41661069
Her competitive nature is what turned her on to you, yes.
>>
>>41661116
On a scale of 1 to incredibly pissed, how pissed will Claire be when she hears about this?
>>
>>41661069
I dunno. Depending on how you look at it she could seem like a total bitch.

"My friend likes this guy? Better see if I can fuck him first."

But thats like, the worst way of looking at it.
>>
>>41661116
Any chance Sarif will try to snuggle with us again while Abigal is with Sarif?
>>
>>41661148
That seems to be right on the mark tbh
>>
>>41661157
>Any chance Safi will try to snuggle with us again while Abigal is with Saif?

Fixed that for ya.
>>
>>41661136
Claire is just as competitive if not more competitive than Abigail. Take from that what you will.
Go back and read what Abigail said when you first met her, and you will understand.

>>41661189
Not as fixed as you might think, it still doesn't make much sense.
>>
>>41661169
I guess.
I feel as though my opinion is biased since she kinda rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. Was never a fan of overly foward girls.
>>
>>41661247
>Was never a fan of overly foward girls.
You and me both, mang
>>
>>41661247
My dick is a fan of forward girls
