It's a person, you can tell that quickly, but you don't know who it is until they get closer, and you're able to see that they're female, and clad in a red cloak.

Kasai lands beside you, crossing her arms and looking down at you with a quirked eyebrow. "That was fast."

Kasai takes a step back to give you room before answering. "As best as I can figure, the ghosts tried attacking him from the inside. They probably went for his mind, his organs, anything that could give him an agonizing death."

You notice during her explanation that she has a somewhat approving tone when talking about the ghosts attempting to sadistically kill Mahou, though her expression remains neutral.

"But, Mahou overpowered the ghosts, and consumed their energy," she continues. "Now he's much stronger than before. Honestly, you probably can't beat him. You'd be dead right now, but I'm pretty sure he wants to take his time with you."

That's nice.

You aren't sure what makes Kasai so certain that you can't win, but you did notice a severe difference in strength during your last exchange with Mahou. She may be right. But, if she's here, maybe she can help you turn the tables. You don't know how strong she is, but she has fire magic. The only question is, will she help you fight?

He stares down at you with the same arrogance he possessed during your first meeting, eyeing you not as a potential threat anymore, but as prey. He looks over at Kasai, and sniffs the air.

"You...you're a demon!" he shouts, sounding quite angry at this discovery. "And you're here assisting a HUMAN?! Where is your sense of pride?"

"I've been teaching him a few things," Kasai tells Mahou, looking up at him somewhat boredly. "But I haven't done anything to help him here."

"You worthless whore!" Mahou growls. "Teaching demonic powers to humans? You will die with him, traitor!"

Now Kasai looks a little peeved. "You don't scare me. Even with your new strength, you can't beat us both."

You figure that means Kasai will help you out.

Mahou howls, staring down the hill as flames appear above Kasai's upturned palms. The flames dance along her fingertips as she flips her hands, then leap towards the charging monster, who falls to the ground and shrieks as he takes fire to the face.

Kasai glances at you over her shoulder. "Feel free to jump in any time. He's not finished yet."

As if on cue, Mahou roars and gets back to his feet, ripping a tree from the ground and hurling it at the two of you. Kasai flies to avoid it, while you rush forward and duck beneath it. You see Mahou pick up a large rock and hurl it up at Kasai, who nimbly dodges before sending another torrent of fire down at the furious creature.

Mahou jumps out of the way this time, and the leaves on the ground catch fire. Mahou steps back from the flames, his distraction leaving him open.

You channel your inner fire and Spirit Energy into your fists, engulfing them in flame once again as you rush towards Mahou, punching him in the face with all of your might while he's distracted.

It does less damage than you would have liked, but between the hit and the fire, you do manage to hurt him a bit. Mahou winces, putting his right foot back before backhanding you and knocking you to the ground.

You get back to your feet and duck under a slash, uppercutting him in the jaw but having little effect. His tail slams into your chest, throwing you back into the creek bed. Snarling, he begins to walk towards you.

You get up and rush towards your enemy, leaping to the side as he slashes at you with his long claws. His tail comes up to strike you, and you duck, reaching up and wrapping your burning hands around it.

Mahou roars in pain, swinging his tail with all of his might. You lose your grip and are sent flying, shooting above the burning leaves and crashing through another tree, which falls on top of your leg, pinning you to the ground.

Mahou laughs. "You idiot. You really didn't learn not to keep running at me after the last two times didn't work?"

He steps forward, climbing on top of the log and pressing it harder against your leg. You feel the bone break, and scream in pain as Mahou laughs above you.

"That's it, scream," he tells you, stomping on the fallen tree again.

Then, he lets out a pained cry as something strikes him from behind. He stumbles off the tree and falls beside you, pushing himself up and looking over his shoulder.

You see Kasai hovering just past the tree, a flame dancing along her upturned palm as she looks between you and your attacker. Mahou pushes himself back to his feet and jumps back on the tree, sending new pain shooting through your body.

"I'll rip off your arms and make you eat them!" he declares before leaping at Kasai.

The female demon blows on the flame hovering above her palm, which expands into a wave of fire that shoots forward from where she stands. Luckily for you, Mahou was between you and the fire, and takes the blast while you remain unharmed. However, the wave consumes many spots around you, and you find yourself pinned beneath a tree, surrounded by raging flames.

Mahou covers his eyes with his hands, shrieking in agony as he stumbles blindly into the flames, leading to renewed screams as his body becomes covered in fire once again.

Ignoring him, Kasai approaches you, floating over the tree at your leg and looking at you expectantly.

"Alright," Kasai says, sighing in mild annoyance and turning around.

She floats over to the forest, diving dangerously close to the fire before taking a deep breath. The fire comes rushing towards her and shrinks down, disappearing into her mouth. The forest is saved, though several trees have burned to the ground, and your fight caused a bit of damage.

With that handled, Kasai turns away and starts flying you towards home.

"I smell you...." he growls.

You think something's wrong with his eyes. He limps in your direction, constantly sniffing the air, and not following you with his eyes as you and Kasai head back into the sky. He doesn't seem to figure out that you're up there until he's standing right below you.

Roaring angrily, he leaps up at Kasai, who swerves our of the way. Mahou crashes back to the ground, breathing heavily and trembling with anger.

You suggest that the two of you make your way in the same direction Mahou was heading, and Kasai carries you deeper into the forest. A few minutes later, you spot a crappy looking cabin on top of a hill.

You think you've found Mahou's lair.
