He whips his axe down towards in a bolt of steel. You try to parry it, but his strength is gargantuan. The steel of your spear is pressed against your chest as the weapon bites into your arm. The plate armor bends against the attack, but fortunately, it doesn't give in to the assault.

You step back from the blow and aim your spear at him, stabbing swiftly as he slaps it away, barehanded, and laughs. "You don't stand a chance!"

Looking over the scene of the fight quickly you try to think. In a straight up fight he'll kill you, maybe in a moment, maybe in a minute, but eventually, he'll break through your armor and with his incredible martial training, you will fall.

Your mind flashes to the images, focusing on them hard as quickly as possible. A click, loud and heavy as if a massive lock were turned, fills the air, at least to your ears, and the spear grows light in your hands, as if it weren't there. You pull it, not out, but towards his back. The spear moves, as if moving through butter, and rends a clear line through his back. A massive space, at least ten inches deep, of just nothingness where once flesh and bone were. He gasps, spitting blood instantly as he collapses onto a knee.

You step back and find, to your amazement, a small field of twisting wind, wind that you can see, around the spear. It forms a beautiful tunnel around the spear, and around the tip it is focused to a singular point. Bjorn tries to stand up, managing to get on his feet.

Yet, you know now, that HE is the one who is overmatched.

You thrust the spear forward and he puts his axe in the way. It doesn't help him.

The metal of the axe is twisted and warped away in a hellish scream in an instant as it becomes absorbed into the spear. An entire axe, as long as your feet to torso, vanished in a moment. However, the spear does not stop there. It soars forward and a loud whining sound fills the air before it bursts through his now significantly thinner back. He is blasted away from it against the keep of the fortress, a gaping ugly hole where once his chest was. He didn't even have a chance to scream as his huge body falls to the ground.

A moment of shock silence is thick in the air before Thorn lets out his battle whoop again and calls out, "Valorian King! Hail Valorian King!" The same cheers fill the entire fort as you raise the spear, which quickly loses its swirling wind, it vanishes in a puff of air and returns to normal as you rest it on your shoulder.

Your soldiers move the body of the now-dead Zestreid king away and finish repairing the door. You feel a deep exhaustion within you, nearly to the point of collapse, as Thorn supports you. "Sire, such magic was incredible. However, you do not appear to be a mage, and I would advise you rest as best you can." You nod, thanking him as he puts you atop your horse and you slump over, but give the impression of being ready and waiting for the enemy army.

Your scouts, ten minutes later, call, "Sire, they approach!" You quickly dismount, feeling a bit better, and get up to the ramparts. There, in the distance, you can see a vast grey and black horde of men, each of them as large and mean looking as their friends, strolling towards you to an ominous war drum.

A messenger of theirs comes forward, but turns around quickly at seeing your soldiers still on the walls, he was apparently scouting under a messenger's banner. Their army starts getting close and your archers begin to fire upon them. And then, something happens.

A high-pitched, definitely feminine, laugh, fills the air and all can hear it.. From each of the men's mouths a black miasma is pulled from their mouths, up into the air. The giants who pull the Volfebuss fall over from the sudden loss. The collective miasma forms a great black mass and then drifts away over the sea, before vanishing into the distance, and with it the laughter.

The Zestreid warriors are now no larger than your soldiers. Their giants who pulled the Volfebuss can no longer even budge them, and it takes nearly twenty of them, in tandem, to even make the massive things budge forward. Their strength has been robbed from them, and many of them can no longer hold the armor and weapons they once carried.

Resistance falls quickly in and around Hoogstrad. The people in the city are overjoyed to see the defeat of the warrior upper-class that spit on all other members of the society. Your soldiers free the peasant workers trapped in the Void, and you place the newly prisoner Zestreid in the pit. After all is said and done in Hoogstrad, six hundred Zestraid sit in the pit, trapped and awaiting the order to begin their labor.

You dispatch scouts who return with news that what is marked as Western Sea Raider lands to the west of Hoogstrad is largely abandoned. A few cells of guards, but not much else, occupy the dying land. When you go to the dungeons of the capital, however, it is with great sadness that you see the body of a creature made of living breathing stone. The last Earthfolk, afloat in a pool of its own golden blood. However, your mages reach him quickly, and manage to stabilize him, though he is unable to act as he recovers.
