"This boat is quite solid, but isn't it heavy? how does it float?" -Ellie seems quite interested as she looks around inside the large boat (or small yatch, pick whichever you prefer)
"Well, as long as the water doesn't comes in..." -Cedric says looking away
"So, you don't know?" -smiles the elf girl
"Not really. I'm sure dad would say something about buoyancy and such."

"Can we go out on it?"
"I think dad wouldn't mind, but not to the open sea."
"Oh, I want to try fishing at sea, so should we wait for him?"
"Probably best. Also, you should change. I don't think your lovely dress would handle fish stains very well"
"So what would be fishing clothes?"
"Probably shorts, or an old pair of jeans, or even a swimsuit"
"Alright, let's go change, then"

Coming in and out of the boat so much, they truly looked like a couple of tourists.

They found the door was closed.

Well, it is a nice boat

The house was half on land, and half atop stilts that sunk into the water, with a long dock going from it unto the water.

The boat was tied to the dock, so that its stern was almost touching the house. There were some large, old tires on the house wall, so that the boat would bounce if it actually came to hit it.

It looked slightly odd, once you thought about how would one manage to place the boat in such a posture, but once you meet its owner, it became obvious that he simply stopped normally and then manually pulled the boat into place.

Just a few feet from the aft of the boat, there was an open window.

"I'll open the door from the inside" -Ellie looked at the nearby window and said so confidently
"Be careful, the boat may mo-"

Indeed, it had moved forth, and the elf had fallen forth, albeit the boat had not moved enough to drop her into the water, and she managed to hold from the open window.

The rope held the boat in place, it was 'k

"Here, let me help you" -Cedric grabbed her by the hips and readied to pull her back, but she stopped him and suggested that he gave her a hand to get into the window, instead.

"Alright, here you go..."
"C-cedric, not now!" -she cries softly, blushing brightly as he takes hold of her shapely bottom.

However, his intentions are completely honorable, and he gives her a firm shove in order to try and defenestrate her.

Well, it was successful enough since only her legs are dangling down out the window now. He somehow catches himself instead of falling to the water, and goes back to the dock

"Can you climb up?"
"Of course, wait a moment..." -she pulls herself into the house, and then shows her head out through the window- "Go around, I'll open the door"

A few minutes later, they were changing their clothes for something more casual and appropriate for a fishing trip.

Cedric dons a simple pair of trunks and a shirt, while Ellie puts on her bathing suit under some daisy dukes, and a large white hat with a yellow ribbon.

"Uhmm... you need some sandals. I remember the small store at the beginning of the street sells those, let's go buy you a pair"
"I could just wear my sneakers"
"That would be dangerous if you happened to fall off the boat"
"Ah,alright"

This time, Cedric remembers to take the spare key with him, and start walking with Ellie just as Baldric is coming back. Since he's coming from the direction they are going to, they cross paths in a few moments.

"What, no hawaiian shirt?" -asks Baldric looking at his son in "tourist" disguise
"Please, I grew up here, you know?"
"And yet, you are looking like that"
"Do I look alright, father?" -asks Ellie while straightening up
"Yes, you look quite beautiful, miss"
"That's hardly fair..." -sighs Cedric
"What, you want me to tell you how beautiful you are, too?"
"Please spare me already!"

Like that, they arrive at the convenience store.

"Oh, Baldric, did you forget something?" -a beautiful, somewhat petite woman with asian features and long black hair smiles as your father walks in.

"Dad, you said you were only going out for a little bit, but... is this lady my new mom?" -softly enough only Baldric and Ellie can hear

Baldric goes red from under the neck, and raises a hand like a plate do gesture us to cut it out.

Ellie seems to understand the situation, but refrains from teasing dad.

"Ah, no, my son and daughter in law need to buy something, that is all"
"Oh! nice to meet you. I am Noriko Yin, your father has been most kind"

Ah, now that she clasps her hands on her lap to thank us, it is obvious that she's a beauty with quite the nice figure.

Her black hair is secured in a ponytail behind her, and she looks quite soft and feminine. Dad said she was in her mid twenties, right?

Right, she's younger than us. Maybe she's a college student helping at her parent's store over summer break, or something like that.

We remember the couple that owns the store. Right, they were asian as well, but they would be too old to be her parents.Maybe her grandparents?

"Oh, Baldric's boat? he's threatened to take us fishing for weeks now"

Weeks? then she's not just here on vacations

Ellie finally found some flip flop sandals and came over to the counter.

After a few minutes, Noriko came back with two young girls. They are so small that they just barely reach above her knees.

Both sisters have jet black hair, though one has a shorter haircut, while the other has it long. They both have blue eyes, and seem quite happy when they see dad.

"Mister Baldric, are we really going out on the boat?" -asks the one with the longer hair

The other child hides behind her mother legs, looking at us with wide open eyes and a timid expression.

"Yes, Ren, we are going on a boat trip" -says dad

Oh, the girls are just too cute. They are four or so?

"Do you have safety jackets in their size?" -asks Noriko
"I have floaters that should work fine"
"Alright"

And so, we are introduced to Noriko's daugthers, Mako and Ren.

Some two minutes later, Ellie is helping Noriko to adjust the floaters for the girls.

"Uhm, Ellie, do you know how to swim?"
"Of course I do"
"Alright"

"Alright, here we go... lose the ropes. Alright" -Baldric easily handled the ropes tying the boat to the dock, bending them as easily as if they were putty.
He wasn't really talking to himself, but putting on a show for the children on board.

Of course, these kind of ropes were as thick as a man's wrist, and were not at all soft or easy to handle.

In the eyes of the little girls staring at him from on board the boat, this man was a giant.

Well, that was still truth in the eyes of pretty much everyone else.

He folded the ropes into a corner of the boat and head over to the helm

Actually, both Ellie and Noriko were equally impressed with the ease with which Baldric handled the heavy, thick rope. When he went over to steer the boat, Ellie tried lifting it, and quickly gave up.

"Cedric, are you half ogre, then?"
"No, no, dad is just an unusual existence. but I don't think he's an ogre"
"If you say so..."

The boat took off, while Ren cheered and Mako clung to Noriko's left leg.

The beautiful store clerk was wearing simple jeans and a shirt, but she looked quite attractive in such simple clothes.

"Hey, dad, where are we going?"
"I found a good fishing spot, it'll be about fifteen minutes. Do you want to steer?"
"I'm a grown man, dad, I can resist the urge to take the helm, you know?"
"You suuuure?" -Baldric asks in a "imnot asking again" tone
"Alright, I'm going"

Ellie chuckles softly

Well, it turns out that the couple we knew as a child had passed away, and Noriko had inherited their store and moved in with her daughters. She had grown up in a small town but was from the state, and since the neighborhood was quite good and the store was enough to pay for her expenses and those of the girls, she was quite happy with her current situation.

While we fish, Ren leans over the edge of the boat, with Mako staring from a few steps back.

"Ren, don't lean in so far out of the boat" -says dad as he gently picks the girl with a single hand and pulls her back into the deck
"Eeeh!" -the girl seems to enjoy being lifted up with a single hand- "Again?"

Mako goes bright red as she lifts her hands, also wanting to be picked up.

Meanwhile, we are standing by the prowl of the boat with Ellie, showing her how to use the modern fishing rod and wheel.

"Do you want me to bait your hook?"
"No, I can do it" -she doesn't seems the least bit squimish about handling the bait

Well, she used to be a nomad, and its perfectly fine with gutting and cleaning fish and game, so that's no surprise, really.

"How much weight can these lines handle?"
"About 50lbs"
"That's quite a bit?"
"Well, if we were in the open sea, we would use thicker lines."
"Oh, can we try that?"
