Confused, he starts on his way himself, behind Goku and Chi-chi. The monkey boy surprisingly lags behind the other girl... and to your surprise, Yajirobe climbs the tower like a champ, mind focused on food. At one point, he even overtakes you.

Oh no he doesn't. You're the Champ! You aren't going to be beat in a climbing race by a human boy with a stomach as endless as a Saiyan's! You bolt up there as fast as you can, overtaking even the hunger-driven Yajirobe, and coming out on top first. Yajirobe comes in second, Chi-chi third, Goku fourth, and a bemused Tien in last place. There, you spot Korin looking at you all.

"So... you finally made it." the cat says as he walks forward. "Figured you kids would be back. Seems you've brought guests."

"I am Yajirobe. And I am here for your pantry." he states with determination. Tien groans at him.

"I... guess you could say I am a rival to these three. I am Tien Shinhan, of the Crane School."

Wouldn't say that he'll never be as strong as Kags. But I'd view the whole multiverse dipping thing as Arctus learning how others become inspired to be heroes, and how their other versions failed where they would have normally succeeded.

He himself is going through similar emotions to what he felt in canon, when Krillin died, but now he sees someone close to him clearly suffering even more. You're basically a little sister to him, and he knows he needs to help you in this. Most importantly, he doesn't want to lose you too.

The original SSJG didn't even last long enough to put the smack down on a bunch of podunk mook saiyans. Like, not even the PTO army saiyans, but leather or fur clad saiyans. SSJG won't be relevant until BoG when Goku can actually sustain it and learn to retain its power.

The power creep did get rather high, but there's no reason that Arctus couldn't reach that level if he gets around to BoG time. He's even had a personal conference with Whis. He's destined to do some momentous shit in the universe, and that'll probably involve getting up to a level where he can challenge Beerus. Frieza is a goal that he wants to reach, but the Voices didn't select Arctus just so he could deck Freezer in the shnoz.

In some ways, I guess this Goku is growing up faster than his canon counterpart. Not only did he see his friend die, but he has to act as emotional support for his adopted sister as she tries to cope with her brother's death. That's a lot of stuff to deal with, even without all the King Piccolo and Kochin team up stuff.

Frieza death was one of Kabu's main objectives, but that naturally leads into dealing with the rest of the Cold family.

Also, she and her crew and the other Z fighters have been exiled from Earth by a very cranky Dr Gero, who has been busy putting his earlier android models to work by strong-arming them off Earth.

So now she needs to get strong enough to deal with super robots, and any attention the other PTO branches may shower upon her.

In a way you're helping him grow up quicker. You're actually taking time out to make sure Goku's not just getting stronger, but actually learning more about the world. That you're also sort of his biggest rival and best friend who's focused on things that he himself doesn't leap onto initially is what's kinda really getting in his head.

I also have a number of plans on keeping you and the non-Saiyans relevant in some way well into Z, either by skill, special magic, or in some cases even raw strength. If all goes well there's a chance you and a number of the other non-Saiyans might end up becoming threats to Freeza in his second form, even without the Kaio-ken to boost you up. But that's a long ways off and requires a number of things to happen first...

I doubt I could make a co-quest work as well as they have, but man I got a shitton of interests. Some I've semi-seriously pondered on recently are a Gundam Build Fighters thing (though I've decided against it, both as I kinda like Merc Command's one and am sort of doing a shitty GBF fanfic on the side...) and a Digimon-based quest that's not connected to any "main" canon thing but has elements from most series in there. That one might be focused on twins again, twin goggleheads.

I've also sort of tossed around the idea of running something based in the Bodacious Space Pirates universe focused far away from the "main" story but damn I have no idea how that'd end up or how many people would even be on board for that.

I know it's kind of a weird suggestion but I think with the styles you two have and how well I THINK they might mesh together, something that's post apocalyptic in some fashion would be very interesting.

You and Eail both seem to have a skill for going into the mind of people and exploring the deeper aspects of humanity and what it means to an individual.

Putting something like that into a setting in which everything has been shot all to hell, and the average joe might be out for your blood, well, that's something that gets me excited.

Maybe use Fallout Lore as a base in some regards?

That reminds me, Goku couldn't defeat us in a rematch. Usually Goku surpasses his rivals by a good amount after losing to them once.

He dominates Tien in the next World Tournament.
He beats Demon King Piccolo pretty hard until a hostage appears.
He surpasses Vegeta so much that Vegeta spends the rest of the series playing catch up.

The only time canon Goku didn't win in a rematch is against Beerus I believe.
