To pass the time

How would players like item creation handled?

Vote on each thing created?

Have the girls give Sallazar a list that he works on in his spare time, and every so often he completes an item?

Some other way?
>>

>Have the girls give Sallazar a list that he works on in his spare time, and every so often he completes an item?
This is probably for the best, though maybe with a veto vote for unacceptable items.

I suppose a list is always good, unless players come up with individual ideas to work on.

I think Sallazar could work on items in his spare time, and then we get a "Item Creation" option for our free time where we can work some more intensly on it to speed up creation of a item in case its urgent or we want some done fast.

I don't think its that bad, she wanted that whip for example which is probably a good idea for her to have.

You scream internally. There are few things that makes you want to get violent like meeting Anabelle. You should really slap shame into her face, though.

“Hmph.” You flick your hair in a dismissive gesture, turning away from her. You don’t need this today, or anyday, rather. Nice and proper, just like the sisters were raising you to be.

“Hey!”she calls, displeased with your lack of response to her provocation. You pick up your pace when you hear her footsteps behind you. “Come on now, don’t be shy~” you hear them giggle, and suddenly a hand slams against the wall before you and Anabelle blocks your way.

“Oh no, you don’t get to away like that.” she says, waving a finger at you. Someone of the gang must be carrying her things. You step back and try to walk around her, but she moves to block you again. “It will be just a little pat on the behind~.”

This incorrigible bitch keeps hounding you and tormenting you for whatever reason she can think of. You know you aren’t the only one, but it seems she chose you to bully today. Rip off all of her ribbons she wears with pride and shred her vain clothing to pieces.

“I will just show you how something like you can still have a use.” She says with a dangerous glare and a sweet melody in her voice that would make angels jealous.

She is not going to let you go that easily, is she? Inflict upon her a thousand and one restless nights. Good girls shouldn’t fight like rascals…but Anabelle hardly is a good girl. ‘And don’t forget to give her the switch!’ You hear Sister Josiam’s words ring in your mind. Words of true wisdom, there is nothing a good spanking on the butt won’t solve.
>>
…just remembering that almost makes your own butt ache from the memory. It was all for your own good, but it still hurt. Maybe this is what Anabelle really needs. That did keep you from being a messy kid.

“Don’t make me mad, though. You won’t like me if you make me mad~” Not answering her is making her mad. That’s nice...and also bad, maybe.

You glare at her in silence. The succubus’ eyebrows twitches in annoyance and you can see her minions watching with anticipation (along various bystanders). You step back once, then twice, sparing a look of cold indifference (you hope it was of indifference and not restrained anger) but as you try to walk past her she pushes you back.

“What the fuck do you think you are doing?” she asks. You can see her eyes shine briefly and reveal just how beautiful and deep they are. “Going to...class.” You answer with controlled anger rapidly vanishing and giving place to jolly cooperation.

“Hah, no. You THINK you are going to class.” She approaches you, her face getting dangerously closer to yours, causing your pulse to beat faster. She raises a slender hand and picks some of your hair up, playing with the tip. “But what you will be doing...” “MAKE WAY, PASSING THROUGH”

You hear other students giving yelps of surprise or shouts of annoyance. You see, behind Anabelle, various students being pushed to the side and being forced to move out of a tall and muscular girl’s path. “SORRY, I’M LATE, GET OUT OF THE WAY!”. You grin at the succubus and step closer to the wall in preparation of what’s about to happen.

Anabelle doesn’t pay any attention to the havoc behind her, and soon she is slammed against the wall. “HEY!” she shouts. “Fucking bitch, what the hell do you think you…” her voice dies when she sees what pushed her away.
>>
You turn to the girl who rushed through the masses of students. She stopped as soon as she heard Anabelle insult her, and she backsteps next to Anabelle. You smile when you see who it is.

Kittrane slowly turns to her, giving your bully a long, cold glare. “...Anabelle, was it?” The succubus gulps down and Kittrane glances at you, connecting the dots.

“I think the real question is, what the hell do YOU think you are doing.” she says, putting a hand on the wall next to Anabelle, showing her long, muscled arm. You giggle inside, excited at seeing your bully being bullied. You try to keep it down, don’t want to raise your voice around the succubus, but Kittrane notices you are enjoying this.

“If I know you right, you like to torment others, don’t you?” she asks. The baelor points at you with a thumb. “Was that what you were doing with my partner?”

“Oh, us? Not at all, no. We were just...getting to know each other.” she says while searching for her minions. Seems they all scrammed when Kittrane came.

“Hah, as if.” Kittrane glares at Anabelle, approaching her to whisper aloud. “If you try to mess with my sparing buddy again, I will have to...recruit you as my training dummy.” she threatens. Anabelle just nods and loses strength in her legs, sliding down the wall.
As you turn to thanks Kittrane, she bends down and sweeps your legs off you, picking you up in. “See this?” she says. “This is mine, you hear? My sparring partner. You better stay away from her, or else!” With that, she turns around and walks away, keeping hold of you with a hand on your thigh. This is humiliating.

“Um, isn’t this a bit too much?” you ask her. “Just a bit more. Is this your class?” she opens a door, attracting the attention of the students inside a classroom that most definitely is not yours. “N-no, it’s not. And I can walk, you know, so please let me down...” You feel her hand on you tense up.
>>
“Err, right.” she puts you down and mutters an apology. You both avert your gazes from each other. “So, uh. I guess this is it, right?” she says. “If you need help again...against Anabelle, or anyone else! You can, ask for help, yeah?”

You look up at her and nod. “I will. Thanks.” This is kinda awkward.

I think it confirms more that she is socially awkward and doesn't know how to deal with people being nice or grateful to her.

The other thing may or may not be true, though I see no reason why she'd be in the closet.

Why do I always post before I'm finished writing?

Anyway, I wanted to add that I was somehow under the impression that we were more dealing with 15-16 year olds rather than 13-14. checking the pdf, it seems it's a bit of all ages. Kittrane is the oldest one though, and more than old enough to be conscious about that kind of thing, but whatever, it doesn't really matter anyway. I'm here for the ride, not the "omg she must hook up with her!" stuff. I'll leave that to the annoying waifufags.
>>
>>41334691
>Kittrane is the oldest one though, and more than old enough to be conscious about that kind of thing
Pretty sure if not all girls in the school are "conscious of that kind of thing", considering even the youngest is 13 or so.
But in this case I see really no reason to assume its anything but Kittrane not knowing how to do friendly interaction with people, she has kinda avoided people before except when looking for trouble.

“I'm serious, you really helped me back there.” You say, trying to make this less awkward. She could have helped with a less drastic retreat. “So, thank you, really.” Nice and proper, no matter how awkward it feels like after having your thigh being felt up, even if unintentionally. You make eye contact with her and she rubs the back of her head. “Yeah, it was nothing. I can do that again if you want. Keep your bully away, I mean.”

You smile at her. “Well, I hope I won’t need it. You might be late for class if you do.”

“Eh, whatever. It’s not like I’m doing well anyway, what’s another missed lecture?” she forces a smile. She must be doing really bad at this class, you feel bad now for her.

“I don’t have how to thank you, so I guess I will owe you one?” You try to show her you really mean it, but she just shrugs. “Whatever, don’t sweat it. Just try not to miss your class. Like I am doing right now.” she waves and walks away, off to wherever.

Maybe a hug could have worked? Chame says hugs are great, but you can trust Chame when it involves physical contact.

You look at the class Kittrane brought you to and see a few students eyeing, some of them amused, the others grinning. A succubus even winks at you and gives you a thumbs up. You slam the door shut.

And then you run.

Fortunately, Kittrane carried you towards your classroom’s direction and you get to class just in time. The professor is about to start the roll call, but lets you and another (technically not) late student in.

No sign of Nevyn. You don’t think you can cover for her after attracting attention to yourself by being (technically not) late. “Sorry.” you whisper to yourself, wishing her well.

What matters is that you are safe in class, ready for another exciting day of lectures. You wish every professor would spice things up with some cool trick like Sallazar does every once in a while. She is a cool teacher.

He. He is a cool teacher.
>>
>>41335155
WOMAN, HE'S GOT A BEARD. probably, I don't remember
>>
Shaking your head, you try to focus on class, but remembering how cool Salla can be, and that adventurer club is the best club so far gets you thinking.

Ranger Phaysis, fastest cowgirl in the west. Horse girl? Evrumine is a cow, you’re a...no, you’re not a horse. You are a nightmare. Way cooler than horses.

It just so happens that ‘nightmares burn their riders and take the sinners to hell, where they keep burning for all eternity.’ You hear Sister Chloe’s words. That really stung, at the time. But you will show she was wrong, one day.

You scribble a drawing of yourself wearing a ranger’s garb. Leather pants, knee-high boots, a tight top that shows off you-no, no, that’s wrong. Rangers need something that cover them and protects from insects and mud. So a chainshirt, right? Uh, chains are too loud and heavy, aren’t they?

This is all wrong. Rangers wear hoods and cloaks! Jackets and stuff, right? Yeah, you fix the drawing, again.

You also draw an awesome looking bow (after the upteenth try), and even a few monsters full of arrows sticking out of them. Take that monsters, Ranger Phaysis saves the day!

...being saved felt nice, but you bet that saving feels nicer.

You then try to draw yourself as a Ranger in centaur form. The horse body comes naturally to you; somehow it’s easier to draw yourself in your hybrid form than as a full human. The bow is easy to draw this time, but when it’s the clothes’ turn you stop at a loss of what to draw.

The things you wear transform with you now. Into horse things, even the things that are worn by your human half. You run a finger over a cheek, remembering where the helmet became a bridle last time you transformed. Wait, it was only the helmet, not everything...but when you changed into your equine form, it was everything.

You crush the paper you were drawing on and draw something else. Something cool, like Inquisitor Phaysis, complete with heavy armor and purity seals. Sister Josiam would approve.

>>
Eventually, you hear a curt coughing next to you. Uh-oh, you know that type of coughing. It’s the sign of a (hopefully) responsible adult and authoritative figure displeased in you. You’ve heard it tons of time before. You look up and see the professor looking down at you.

“Your hair is on fire.” he says, crossing his arms.

...oops.

After a brief scolding, you are dismissed earlier than your classmates. You hope this incident won’t lose you credits.

The rest of the morning classes end without any further incident. You know the adventurer’s club will have a meeting today, so, with nothing else to do, you head to the club.

You arrive early, however, as there is no one else here. You are the first today, wait, there is gear spread over a table and training materials ready for use. You see a bunch of helmets piled on a corner, next to various weapons. Your training bow is there too, and there are training dummies on the other side of the room. Seems the professor was readying things up for today’s meeting. Maybe he had to leave to do something?

You eye the dummies and then look at the weapons. You could try practicing a lone for some time. Spear or bow? You will have to do it outside, no matter which one you choose today. You are not sure if the elf will come today, though.

There are also a lot of helmets here. You know only a few of them are used, most girls prefer to have their head free (or the helmets don’t look cool enough). You gulp. Maybe you should investigate them, try to discover why they change with you now? You pick one up and study it; it’s nothing special, just an old thing made from regular materials, doesn’t cover the face and is rather light. You hide it in a safe spot and make a mental note to pick it up when going back to the dorm.

No one is here yet and you have the entire club for yourself.

Well, since you have the entire club for yourself right now, it won’t hurt to check just what the club has. There are a few crates and some chests lining the walls, and there are lockers for every member of the club and more.

You open your locker and see that there is nothing new. It has a tiny idol with the shape of the goddess hidden on the back on a safe spot. You put a quiver with some arrows in the locker too, makes it easier to fetch them. The bow is too big to fit comfortably, though. Some heavy clothes you brought from your room and a towel for when you sweat too much.

..it’s kinda empty. You need more things to put in here.

You skip the other lockers, rummaging through other people’s things like that is rude. The club’s chests are fair game, but when you try to open them, you find that they are still locked. Weird.

The crates are full of junk, however. Lots of old equipment, not very different from the helmet you put away. No heavy armor, so no impersonating Inquisitor Phaysis yet. There are some big swords, though, and while a few of them are of metal and are heavy, they wouldn’t cut even butter.

You try to pick the biggest one up, but only manage to lift its handle. What the hell is this thing made of? And it’s a wooden sword and not even bigger than you…

You let it down and go see what other weapons there are. Not everything was taken from the crates, and you find a bunch of weird stuff. A whip, a boomerang, that hook that rogues use to climb walls, and beneath all of that, you find some outfits, hihih.

Standard outfits, the kind that’s mass produced and distributed for dirt cheap. Nothing looks that good, and they seem as old as the “weapons” here, heheh.

You stop and look around. "Hmm?" Must have been your imagination.
>>
The helmets come in various shapes and sizes, some covering the entire face, some that cover only the scalp. You also find a bridle. “Haha, very funny.” You say to no one in particular. As if you…you take it and hide it away, hopefully no one will find it and suggest you wear it, hihih.

The club doesn’t have much, actually. It was formed very recently and most of its stock is old and safe to use. Many things are also just replicas. Some of it is just weird, though, like that crossbow without the part to put the bolts in. “What is the point in that, it’s practically junk?” Right?

You look around again. There is no one here, hehe. Ok, you definitely heard a giggle.

“Hello?” you call out. “Nevyn, is that you?” You wait a minute, but there is no reply. Creepy. You start putting the things you check back in the crate, but you find the sword is missing.

…oh. “Chame? I know it’s you, this is not funny.” When you are the victim, at least.

No answer again. You frown. This has to be Chame, but she won’t come out with it.

“I’m going outside. If you want to train with me, you can join me, ok?”

You pick your training spear up and take it outside, before coming back and taking the dummies out. You swear one of them feels heavier than it should, but that only means it will be harder to knock it down, better for training. Unless it’s Chame, then it’s just mean. You should be mean to her in return, just once.

With the dummies aligned outside, you stay a reasonable distance away from them. The spear is a melee weapon, so it takes advantage of your centaur form. You can charge and hit something really hard with it, dealing a good amount of damage on your first attack. Or so you hope.

One of these dummies is probably Chame in disguise. How should you proceed?

Just finished the update, trying to make it all fit to post.

This will also be the last update, since I'm losing consciousness and need to get up in a couple of hours.
>>
You stare at the dummies, trying to not make it obvious you intend on abusing the one you think is Chame. You are fairly sure she knows you know it’s her, but if she is going to keep appearances, you might too. Heh, maybe you could scare her and force her to shift back into a humanoid.

With that in mind, you turn into your centaur form. No bridle or anything embarrassing, you didn’t put a helmet on and your uniform is unchanged. Shirt, tie, ribbons, and the skirt are untouched, though the socks disappeared to who knows where.

You never thought about it before, but maybe you should investigate what happens to your socks one day.

Filing that thought for another day, you charge, full speed ahead. You don’t go for Chame (it has to be her), though, don’t want to give it away yet. Your target, that you hope is not a mimic in disguise, is blown away and flies off a short distance, but farther than you used to be able to.

“Inquisitor Phaysis on the job!” You say to yourself, content that you are improving. With the contact phase done, you trot from one dummy to the other. “And this is a witch hunt.” You trot from one dummy to the other, poking them lightly.

“Are you a witch?” No response from this dummy. “Maybe you are the witch?” nothing from this one. You stop before the suspect and poke it in the chest are. “Or…is it YOU?” you smile as you deliver a light blow to it.

You really, really hope this is Chame and you are not making a fool out of yourself. You wouldn’t hear the end of it if you are wrong.

You attack your target from various directions. You spaced he dummies away from each other I a way to give enough room for your horse body to maneuver between them without difficulties.

You whack and slam the wooden spear against the mimic (hopefully), but nothing gets a reaction out of it. Maybe you got the wrong one? You shake your head and disperse such thoughts, the church’s police cannot have doubts. Doubts lead to bad things.
>>
So you keep at it, for an unkown amount of time, increasing the strength in your next blows after the previous ones do nothing. Your brow is wet with sweat and your arm is heavy thanks to the effort (though not as heavy as it would be if you were full human right now).

“Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards” You mutter to yourself. And the proverb shows itself to be true, as the dummy you are hitting starts to shift very, very slightly away from you. If you weren’t paying attention, you would have missed it.

“AHA! Behold, brothers, the witch!” You yell, hitting the ‘witch’ full force now. The dummy tries to dodge them, but its form isn’t helping it. “Take this, demon!” you laugh in joy, having won over Chame.

“Alright, alright, I give up!” it says from a mouth it grew on the tip of its fake arms. “Geez, how did you know it was me?” You cease your assault and let her transform into something more human.

You shrug. “No one expects the Nightmare Inquisition.” You enjoy being smug for a couple of seconds before telling her the truth. “You gave yourself away when you made yourself heavy when I was moving the dummies to here.”

“Yeah, I know, but you put me in there.” She says, pointing to a dummy two spots away. “I changed places when you were distracted after charging.” She points out.

Oh. “As I said. No one expects the inquisition.” Smooth safe. Maybe not so smooth, as she snorts at your answer.

“Anyway, why are you here so early?” she asks you. You shrug. “Got nothing to do and Nevyn is busy. Didn’t meet any of my other friends today, so I decided to come earlier and get some training.” Then you look at her. “Why are YOU here this early?” Suspicious.

She smiles and looks away. “Same reason! Nothing to do, met no one, wanted to train…you know how it is.” She is not even trying to fool anyone.
>>
You throw the spear down and swipe your forehead. A break is nice, your arms are still adjusting to your new activities.

Chame changes into…a statue? It’s like a gargoyle, but cute and with the square stone base, and while her legs don’t move, she moves by sliding the base over the ground. Must have legs down there. “So, whatcha going to do now? There is still time until the professor and the others arrive.”

“I don’t know, to be honest. This is all I had in mind. I would probably have spent a lot more of time learning what things the club has if you didn’t play tricks with me.”

“Aw, sorry, I just wanted some fun with you.” You snort. “You wanted to scare someone or were lock picking something. Nevyn told me you two sometimes sneak around and that you mess with the faculty office to steal test answers. You were here to take something, weren’t you?” you accuse her.

“Mmmaybe…but that’s beside the point. I saw something interesting while I was in the club’s room.” You raise an eyebrow. “You did? Whatever was it?”

“Yep. I saw someone hiding an item that belongs to the club~. A helmet to be exact~” she teases and you freeze. Alright, maybe she has some little dirt on you too.

“A-and what about it?” you ask. “Well, nothing really. Just curious, why would my dear friend do that? Specially something that I am very sure has an effect on her own shapeshifting~”
“Look, Chame-“ you try to explain yourself but she interrupts you. “You want to try it out, don’t you?” you look at her, not knowing how to answer. “It’s ok, I won’t tell anybody. I think that’s cool, another shapeshifter trying out her powers and stuff.” She winks at you. “I’d love to help you out and teach you everything~” Damnit.

“And you shouldn’t take only one, ya know? The more you try, the better. And if you want to, I can help you, give you some tips.”

My only criticism is that you stopped the thread on a note that definitely does not remind me of an author ending a chapter. Cutting shit short right in the middle of the rising action is never a good idea, but I understand the need for sleep.

Aside from that, you're great. Writing quality is excellent, descriptions are spot-on. Mechanically speaking, you're probably one of the best QM's to hang out in /tg/ in quite a while. Don't apologize for being loquacious, take as many posts as you need. You can obviously deliver some quality storytelling, so don't let this dumb as fuck site dictate your style. Be you.

I'm stoked to see you adding to this quest, and if you ever want to run any of your own you can bet your sweet ass that I will be a participant. Good show, interim QM. Good fucking show.
>>
>>41339456
I think the only criticism is what you yourself already realised, a lack of meaningful choices between updates.

Although, its kinda hard to do that in something as SoL heavy as this Mini-Quest is by design. But generally its easier to keep the players attention with short updates and a lot of granularity in choice making (like letting people choose how to react to Kittrane approaching, would have been a option to cut things) or by dumping large updates, like you do, and having only the most relevant stuff actually bering choice worthy, which isn't something you have quite figured out yet I think.

The "say anything to Kittrane" choice, wasn't really that relevant, since it was going to boil down to thank you and goodbye in any case.
While the "what do in club" choice was the sort of choice that you should be aiming for, something that sets the scene for the next update.

Excellent mini quest

Bumping this for pally, and mini-QM I guess? Should the thread be kept alive?

You wake up slowly, you were up late last night getting the arcane circles ready. You wander around your room trying to remember what you’re supposed to be doing today, and discovering by trial and error that your socks do not make suitable hats. Damn you are tired.

Finally you manage to navigate your way through eating breakfast, getting dressed and washed, though probably not in that order.

You’re more awake when you start teaching your classes. You’re covering the perils of miscasting arcane magic when you get a rather odd question, and not the usual *if I miscast will I blow everyone’s clothes off?* That used to get asked during your time in the guild.

“So even when casting under stressful situations, like combat” you say “your focus should always be on the spell you’re casting, trust in your allies to protect you whilst you make sure that the forces you wield will be useful, and not merely a distraction.”

“Sir” a hand goes up.

“Yes Carline” you say.

“You were in the army right?” asks Carline “What was the Last War like?”
>>
Ah kids...to them 23 years of age is so old. Its a wonder they haven’t asked you if you were there when it started.

“I missed all but the last months of the Last War” you say “it was already winding down when I joined up, I spend seven years on the Walls instead.”

“Oh” says Carline, pausing, she brushes hair out of her face “Well, what was that like?”

You realise the rest of the class have put their pencils down and are watching you with curiosity.

They’ll never understand what it was actually like, but maybe a story from your past wouldn’t hurt.

What do you do?

short story is getting longer, may take time. in meantime:

What *evil* magic items would suit team Fell Storm?
>>
>>41344802
Something seductive, to temp/mindcontrol monsters and rival players alike.
>>
>>41344802
Aura of fear item.

Four-dimensional transitor box (Calluna's weird box)
>>
>>41344802
Well, Kittrane already got her wish for a nice burning axe, maybe give it a serrated blade and a poison/curse effect?

Cleya, I suppose something that binds/controls either something evil as servant.

Nevyn, since she fights in beast mode mostly, better something that heps there, maybe something with a life-steal effect? But a ring rather than a weapon, or we would have to buy her were-mode.

Chame, once she goes into Bard levels something mind.control related would probably be surperb for her, considering she can just use it while in disguise and mess with enemies that way. Not so sure what would fit right now.
>>
>>41344841
>Something seductive
Just fuck off with that shit already, damn are you annoying.
There is literally no reason a mindcontrol effect needs to be "seductive".
>>
>>41344902

>>41344854
Fear is good too.
>>
>>41344888
>Cleya, I suppose something that binds/controls either something evil as servant.
I think she needs something she can't emulate with a spell herself, especially since she can use Calluna as minion by the rules.
I think she should get a defensive item, just a evil themed protective robe like Sallazar got.
>>
>>41344928
>I think you have me confused with someone else
No, I consider every single of you obnoxious faggots who need to shoehorn "hur muh lewds" into everything the same.
>>
>>41344931
>a evil themed protective robe
Something with curse-like protective effects through contingencies?

>>41344802
Are you familiar or have the Book of Vile Darkness?
Because it got some interesting magical items/effects we might be able to use here.
>>
Just a few examples of interesting evil magic items from the BoVD.

>Grim Defender: Transfer once per da damaged dealt to you to another target within 100feet
For Kittrane or Nevyn
>Cursespewing: Every time the weapon deals damage a target has to make a will save or be inflicted with a curse that gives a-4 penalty on every action(may be adjusted for balance I suppose)
Also for Kittrane, or Chame for hit-and-run tactics
>Ring of Weeping: Allow thes wearer to inflict crushing sadness with a touch against someone (will save), if they fail their will save they are incapacitated for one round and have a -3 penalty on all skill/attack/defense checks for 5 rounds.
Basically anyone could benefit from that, Chame probably the most, followed by Nevyn.
>Flesheater Rod: Summons tiny green goblin like creatures that rip and gnaw at the targets flesh inflicting 3d6 damage per round for a 1d6+1 rounds. And the creatures aren't actually real so anyone trying to attack them hits the target instead.
Would be interesting for Chame or Cleya.
>Collar of Venom: Wearer inflicts poison with each attack, 1d10 CON damage.
Good for Nevyn since she can easily use it in transformation.

>Necklace of Demons: Pearls attached that can be destroyed to summon demons.
Useful for Cleya as long as she has no summoning spells of her own.
>>
>>41344931

Agreeing with this anon.

>>41344888
>Nevyn, since she fights in beast mode mostly, better something that heps there, maybe something with a life-steal effect?

Runed steel claws that restore HP based on blood spilled? More exciting than a ring, anyway.

>>41345130
>Cursespewing

This would be excellent on Chame.
>>
>>41344928
>>41344854
>Fear is good too.

>Skull of Fear: Can be mounted on armour, weapon haft, staff or pole creates Aura of Fear around the wielder that affects everyone with a fear spell that enters the wearers vicinity. Can be raised and lowered at-will.
Ideal for Cleya to keep enemies away from her.

>Pipe of Grief: When filled with tobacco and lighted can create one 5 foot radius cloud that inflicts -4 morale penalties on everyone within it unless they succeed at a will check
Just liked this one.

>>41345149
>Runed steel claws that restore HP based on blood spilled?
Maybe, but I'm not sure how ell that would work with her transformations, especially since she has more than just claw attacks she can use and with the ring all of them would benefit from the enchantment.
>>
>>41345149
>This would be excellent on Chame.
Yeah, Kittrane is probably better off with a weapon that does maximum damage, Cursespewing would work well for Chames crossbow.
>>
Also, one of my favourite combinations from when I played 3.5

>Fleshgrinding: Weapon can on command continue to grind into the body of a living target without the owner needing to hold or devote attention to it, it grinds into the body and inflicts damage like a sucesfull attack each round. The victim or someone else can attempt to rip away the weapon and hold it themselves with a strength check but

>Masterslaying: The weapon comes with a scabbard, and the owner of the scabbard can at any time order the weapon to attack its current wielder and hit him as if he is flat-footed and inflict critical damage on hitting.
>>
>>41345204
>Pipe of Grief

Is it weird that this one screams Calluna to me? What are the rules and restrictions on non-evil participants wielding evil items?
>>
>>41345332
>What are the rules and restrictions on non-evil participants wielding evil items?
I don't think it would be evil enough to be forbidden for her. Its really only mildly nasty.
>>
>>41345329
That is beautiful.
>Kittrane hits dude with sword
>One of his partners tries to save him, even if he suceeds he gets stabbed for his trouble, but they can't just ignore it because holy shit that must hurt
That is actually evil. Not as main weapon, but if she wears two weapons, a sword like that to use as first weapon and a greataxe as main weapon for when she has used this one.
>>
>>41345407
>a sword like that to use as first weapon
Thats basically the idea, yeah. Use a dagger or shortsword or somethiwn as first weapon, leave in the first enemy, grab main weapon and keep fighting.
>>
>A box of shifted perspective.

Well, maybe they would see how important concentrating on your spellcasting is rather than getting distracted, if you used a real example.

“It’s hard to compress seven years into anything smaller than a novel” you say “but a few things stand out.” You take a seat on your desk and the girls all lean forwards slightly.

“I served under many commanders during my time” you say “some good...some not so good. When I was eighteen, our section of the wall was placed under the command of Durzan Deephallow. Captain Deephallow had been – I’m told – a capable and solid young officer who had a good record. Maybe something in him changed when he was promoted; maybe his family was pushing him to achieve greatness, anyway...”

“Of the Seven Great Walls, two have been in dark elf hands for over five decades and are regarded as lost and impossible to retake, two more have been taken much more recently, and change hands yearly. The dwarves hid their secrets well and it wasn’t uncommon to launch underground raids to Sextus” the girls giggle, you give them a wry smile “and Septimus to retrieve their secrets: treasure, lost rune lore, family heirlooms, ledgers of law and property ownership and the like. Deephallow led us on one such raid, hungry for glory. We marched for days through dark tunnels, until we reached the caverns under Sextus” there’s still a few titters “the dark elves didn’t have much use for the dwarven caves that far from the warfront, so as long as we avoided the occasional patrol we had the run of the place.”

“Or so we thought: imagine our surprise when we run into an expedition from Wester and they’re on the run from a ratfolk swarm.”

“Um” a hand goes up “What’re ratfolk?”
>>
Ah yes, you forget that most people don’t know much about the dark elves. “gigantic rats that walk upright, Chloa” you say “enslaved by the dark elves – who use them as hunters and arrowfodder to wear down their foes. They’re intelligent but feral and savage, cowardly when outnumbered, but brutally aggressive when they are not.”

“Ugh” says Chloa, the daughter of a water elemental soulborn “giant rats”

“Oh yes” you say with a chuckle “such is the glory of military life. Anyway, the Westermen are glad to find allies and we have no problem with killing ratfolk, but many of them escape, so now we need to hurry because soon they’ll tell their masters.”

“So the Westermen join us on our journey and we proceed, promising them gold if they help us. Now dwarves are great builders and fighters, but social subtleties are lost on them. The commander of the Wester expedition, a knight in his twilight years, kept looking to a grey-haired scholar for his cues. Which told me something funny was going on.

“I struck up a friendship with the scholars assistant, a boy perhaps a year younger than myself called Tellaric and found out that the old scholar, Master Gherad, was the one truly in charge and that they were on a mission from the crown of Wester to retrieve an ancient sword of a Wester King, forged by the dwarves.”

“This puts me in a bind, because the dwarves consider many of the most powerful items they forge to be gifts that return to dwarven ownership after the one they made it for dies. By Wester law these folk are simply retrieving what belongs to the crown, but by dwarven law, they’re planning theft. So I tell Captain Deephallow all of this as we run and hide from dark elf patrols over the next days and he tells me to simply watch them all.”
>>
“Tellaric and I were the only ones of an age so I had the perfect excuse to keep him company and talk to him, truth be told he looked and acted younger than his stated age and maybe he looked up to me a bit – I’d been on the Walls for 2 years by this point. We got on very well and were rarely apart, but he always seemed to be hiding something and changed the topic whenever I asked him about himself.”

“Now in time we find the vault we came for and open it, and low and behold the treasures we came for and the old sword of Wester are there. Tellaric picks up the sword and that’s when the argument starts about ownership.” You shake your head “Tellaric took it very personally that I’d betrayed him. Anyway at that point the dark elves caught up with us and we united against a common foe – it’s a good thing the Wester sword started glowing to warn us of attackers, that’s when I found out that Tellaric was-” You pause.

“Tellaric was what?” asks one of the girls. They all seem engrossed.

“Ah” you say “another time, that’s not the point of this story” plus that’s not your secret to tell...

“Anyway, common foe or not the alliance isn’t exactly perfect, so when things start going wrong and the dark elves try to collapse part of the vault on us, Deephallow is bellowing in my ear to use magic to keep our escape route open, despite the the vault having several exists, and I notice the Westermen are about to be crushed by falling stone, so I ignore him and protect them, keeping the falling rocks from killing them. I had to change the target of my spell midcast and almost lost it, but I kept my focus and persevered.”

“It wasn’t an easy fight but we send the dark elves running, grabbed what we could and ran. We’d taken a number of casualties too, and so the argument didn’t restart until we were almost out of dark elf-held territory.”
>>
“At that point Deephallow seemed ready to order us to kill the Westermen for their *crime*. I manage to talk him down and we part ways, before we do Tellaric and I patch up our differences and we-” You stop again.

There’re several hands in the air, you ignore them and keep talking “Anyway, we go back to the Wall and are treated as heroes by the dwarven high command, because of all the treasures we recovered for them. Then things sour when they find out about the sword of the Wester king. The law is clear, we worked with thieves – and are all due for extended punishment duties and fines. All of the dwarves will also face deeply shaming ceremonies where they must make amends to their clans for the shame they have bought upon them.”

“And then...Captain Deephallow says that no one knew the truth about the Westermen until we got to the vault, except for him, and that they paid him a lot of gold in return for him keeping their secret. In doing so he exonerates us all, and upgrades his own punishment to banishment. I couldn’t believe it so I went to see him just as he was leaving.”

“He told me that in the vault he had ordered me to keep the escape route secure because he had wanted the falling stone to kill the Westermen, and thus save him and all of us any punishment. With the Westermen dead he could have made up any story he wanted to. But by disobeying him and saving them I had shown a stronger commitment to the ideals of dwarven military honour than him, and that he couldn’t live with his own shame. He said he was taking all of the blame as a sort of self-punishment. When he was banished, he walked away from the Walls...towards the dark elf territory, to meet an honourable death.”

There’s complete silence in the room.

“So” you say “as you can see, keeping your focus and knowing where your spell is going despite distractions is vital. Not doing so can have enormous consequences.”
>>
Every girl in the room has her hand up and the questions keep coming.

“What happened to the sword?”
“Were you and Tellaric lovers?”
“What are dark elves like?”
“What did the Wester king say?”
“Why would Deephallow do that?”

“Oh look at that” you say, as the bell rings “end of class.”

Getting started on magic items for the club is key. You wander around until you’ve collected lists from each of the girls about what they want.

You grab some lunch and a table by yourself as you work. Most are as you’d expect: the more martially-inclined girls want weapons and armour, the more mystically focused ones want wands, Chame wants....you turn that drawing around, trying to see what it is....aha, very cute, no. Calluna wants...some things that don’t make sense to you. Phaysis wants something that detects *people who have been bad and need punishing* huh, you’d never have thought she’d want to be a paladin, still, such an item might be useful.

You spend your time organising their ideas into four categories: Offence (including damage-dealing and impeding the enemy); Defence (protective gear); Utility (useful for getting around, or dealing with environment, communication, transport and so on); and Other (mostly Calluna’s list). Ideally each girl would have 1 from each of the first three, but you’ll need to tweak it for individual roles.

Then you go through each idea and put a line through the things you can’t (or won’t) make for them, and add your own ideas to some of the less detailed ones – for example Evrumine wants armour that is *magical and protects her* - you can be more creative than that, you’re sure.

Finally you’re ready to start and are just listing all the things you’ll need to create Kittranes axe. The schools bell interrupts your thoughts and you quickly gather up your notes and head to afternoon classes.

Still, you’re now ready to start making the items, though some you need to discuss with the girls first.
>>
>>41345651
Taynathil gets dragged along because the girls want to dress her up. She is not enthused.
>>
[Item Progress 20%; Individual item creation times will not be tracked for the sake of simplicity, instead an overall item creation progress will be used. An item is made every time Progress reaches 100% - then it resets to 0%. Sallazar has only made small progress over lunch because most of what he was doing was planning and organising. Progress will happen at a faster pace from here on.]

What are you doing this afternoon?

>Anlanesa and Safire are both tough as hell
Safire seems to aim more for wizard though. Unless her trying to imitate Kittrane makes her take some fighter levels, or possibly monk actually.

And Anlanesa is tough, but since her transformation can be dispelled she is not a reliable frontliner, at least not as the main frontliner.
>>
>>41346216

Safire as ward-centric wizard/monk hybrid sounds pretty awesome, actually.
>>
>>41346270
It would be pretty neat, though I think Safire might actually go Conjuration rather than Abjuration, which is what Janrael seems to need more.

A shame that all those XP for Innate Spells go into sorcerer. Because Safire got several really good ones we are going to pick up anyway.
>>
Your time is best spent making weapons for your girls, er, the girls in your club that is, anyway...

You examine the axe, yes, you think Kittrane will like this: It has the appropriate number of skulls, looks spiky and sharp. You cast a spell to protect yourself against fire and give it a few swings; it bursts into flame.

You always thought the basic flaming weapons needed more...oomph. This one has flames intense enough to affect the wielder, but for Kittrane that’s not a concern. It’s not as strong as you can make it...but cost is a concern, and you’ve used up a lot of the components you’ve purchased.

Next you start on a wand for Cleya: one that won’t harm her foes but will weaken and demoralise them – allowing her to use her eye-rays to great effect.

[1 Item Complete, new Item Progress: 03%, 500 gold used]
[Inferno Axe: This battleaxe offers a +1 bonus to hit and damage and deals 2d6 extra fire damage on every attack. Once per day it can be used to create a Wall of Fire (as the spell). Drawback: It deals 1d6 fire damage to the wielder per round it is used in combat, and when a Wall of Fire is created. Kittrane does not take this damage when she is using Burning Body. Items can be upgraded later.]

You continue working late into the night.
---
The next morning you wake up and go to class as normal. Today the gossip mill seems to be about your choice of sexual partners. You ignore the whispers and continue to teach.

What are you doing over lunch?

Yeah, but it stands in for tutoring Safir too I think, so its not compleltly wasted time.

>>
>>41346573
Might it not be better to plan the week in one big vote, rather than in several small ones? Or at least the day?
Then you can interrupt with more scenes and we don't have to vote for "Create magic Item" each day and it would take away a bit of monotony.
>>
>>41346646
People making nonsensical complaints about a course of action because they lost a vote really irritates me.
>>
>>41346704
Yeah, I was going to go that way it items won again.

I'll stick with Wards for next update and then add a vote for *weeks activities* that Sallazar does in his spare time.

I'm thinking limiting total choices to 3 and then using that over the week as other stuff happens.
>>
>>41346763
>making nonsensical complaints
The bitching is irritating, but the complaint not nonsensical though.
We actually do have stuff to do thats on a time limit while the Wards aren't.
>>
>>41346772
>I'm thinking limiting total choices to 3
That would make it kinda hard to plan how much Items we get done though, since we definitly want at least those 4 by the weekend.

And how would we do tutoring multiple girls? In order of how many voted for each? Especially since we are always going to tutor Janrael on the fridays.
>>
>>41346777
The wards do have a time limit, sort of, just not one we can see. They're still possible to bypass with relative ease compared to wards we would make, and the students are still high-value targets.
>>
>>41346830
priorities then?

i.e. you can do 3 thinks, when you vote use a number to indicate priority (1 is highest priority, 3 lowest).

You'll spend more time on the high priority stuff.

Or would you rather have an end-goal for each one?

I.e. Make items until each of the 4 members of Team Fell Storm has one
>>
>>41346873
>The wards do have a time limit, sort of, just not one we can see.
Which means they have none at all. Especially since it will take weeks to actually improve them.

>They're still possible to bypass with relative ease compared to wards we would make
We have no idea how big the improvement is, and the claim they are currently bypassable with relative ease is kinda ridiculous considering this school already exists for decades and has managed fine until now.
>>
>>41346889
>Or would you rather have an end-goal for each one?
I think having a end-goal in those cases where there IS a end-goal thats reachable within the week seems like a good idea.
>>
>>41346873
>They're still possible to bypass with relative ease compared to wards we would make
Lets be realistic here for a second, if Pally wants to do a plot inw hich someone breaks into the school, he doesn't give a shit how much we improved the wards.
So it honestly really doesn't matter beyond being something to tutor Safire.
>>
Given recent events, upgrading the wards around the school is also a priority for you. As with making the items, first you need to know what you’re dealing with, and where you’re going with this.

You’ll be wandering over the entire grounds and just looking with your arcane sight; a safe if boring activity. Hmm, Safire showed some interest in this, maybe you can make it a lesson for her.

You track her down and tell her your plan, and invite her to accompany you. As you walk, you tell her what you see.

“The boundary here” you say “is a standard ward against scrying and summoning, but not teleportation. Now its strong, but simple: which means it can be bypassed by a clever mage.”

“So we can *be* summoned?” asks Safire, her mask is on and her voice muffled, but you can imagine the look of dismay she must be wearing.

“Theoretically yes” you say “but only by someone who has studied the wards and understands them: a wand or scroll used by someone else simply couldn’t, unless it was very powerful, moving on...”
---
“Now the dorms” you say “these are alarmed and warded against teleportation: but only by attempts from people who are neither students nor staff, again, strong but simple.”

As you stand outside her dorm, Safire asks “so why hasn’t anyone been taken before Sir?”

“Just because something is possible” you say “doesn’t mean just anyone can do it. The Headmaster may not be an abjurer but he is still a powerful wizard. Most attempts to overcome wards involve dispelling it or simply punching through – which would require a lot of power and potentially alert him. Most hedge mages willing to sell their skills to criminals simply don’t have the power. And the mage that might be able to beat the wards will make an enemy of the Northern Shtell Mages Guild. The first thing a guild does when they go after a mage is alert the authorities: making them criminals across the continent, then they start tracking them.”
>>
“So why improve them Sir?” asks Safire “if they work already?”

“Because” you say “there might be properly-trained mages out there willing to risk the guilds wrath, or who think they won’t be discovered. And there are lots of hedge mages: a particularly talented one might stand a chance, or a group of them. So I need to improve these wards, by recreating them from the ground up, and without interfering with the current ones, until my work it done.”

“How long will that take Sir?” asks Safire

“Weeks to get a better replacement in place” you say “but it depends on how far I’m going to take this.”

“How far *can* you take it Sir?” asks Safire “I mean can you make the school perfectly safe?”

You think carefully before answering “Yes, if I had hundreds of thousands of gold for components, and about five years, then yes I could. I would create layers of interlocking wards that supported one another and spells painted directly onto the students skins to allow them to pass through the wards unharmed – each identity spell would be unique to that student, so duplicating a specific one wouldn’t fool the wards. Further, everyone walking into the wards would have their thoughts probed for hostile intent and-” You stop when you realise Safire has taken a step back.

“As I was saying” you say “It will take a long time, and won’t be perfect, but will be better, now, any questions?”

You have an idea of where to get stated on the wards

[Wards Progress 02%; Every time the wards progress reaches 100% it will be upgraded by one category, its current category is Standard]

“Um, yes sir” says Safire, wringing her hands “Um, can I...can I help?”

You smile “that’s very kind” you say “but you’ve only just begun to learn magic and it wouldn’t be safe for you” Not entirely true, rather that she doesn’t know enough to help, and would at worse just get in your way.
>>
“But Sir” says Safire, her long cloak shaking a little “The reason the sca- the sc- um, the reason they want me is because I can store magic energies and stuff, could you-could you maybe use me that way? I’d do it even if it hurts.”

You’re proud, and a little humbled that Safire is volunteering to do something that scares her this much.

“It wouldn’t hurt” you reassure her “but we’d need to work out how you can increase your ability to store arcane energy, and transfer it.”

“Well ok then Sir” says Safire, you think she’s stopped trembling “I want to do that.”

Though not able to help directly, Safires ability to store magical energy will help speed up ward and item creation.

With that sorted out its almost the end of the lunch break. You both head off to your next classes and as you do, you realise that you need some sort of organised approach to this week, and probably next week, and the weeks after.

You are already tutoring Janrael and Safire, the *Tutor* option involves picking more

Every option apart from wards will involve a 5 minute follow-up vote on specifics.

Please label each of the three option 1, 2 or 3. 1 is highest priority, 3 is lowest.

Failing to number your vote will result in the options you picked being included, but you having no input on the priority.

Ok, now we have our activities, please choose the following specifics

A Club Items: You have completed 1 item for Kittrane, please you have found some items. For this section please say how many new items Sallazar will craft before moving on (including Cleyas wand in this number, but *not* Kittranes axe).

>1 (or more)

It is assumed that Sallazar will automatically select what he thinks (with a wizardly bias) which items for each member are higher priority. Players can request specific items be bumped to the top of this list. For this week only Sallazar will only be making things for Team Fell Storm.

B Tutoring Girls

Please pick 3 girls from those in the club: 5 is the max Sallazar can tutor without impacting his other activities and Janrael and Safire are already picked.

>Anlanesa
>Calluna
>Chame
>Cleya
>Evrumine
>Kittrane
>Nevyn
>Phaysis
>Syphoebeus

C Recruiting Trainers

Please pick 2 classes: Sallazar will talk to the teachers, the headmasters and the daves about where to find experts in these fields. You can select the same option twice.

>Barbarian
>Bard
>Druid
>Fighter
>Monk
>Paladin
>Priest
>Ranger
>Rogue
>Sorcerer
>Wizard

You can also write in what *type* of person Sallazar is looking for or those he doesn’t want if you wish.

Please note that priorities are key: Sallazar will only work on priority 2 tasks once priority 1 is complete, and on priority 3 once priorities 1 and 2 are complete.

He will not be idle though: if temporarily unable to work on priority 1 stuff, he will attempt to work on priority 2 etc.

10 minute vote time, in case players want to ask questions.

Which monk will only start improving after she has invested a lot of XP in unlocking it and then starts marginally improving for a lot more XP.
Frankly her use of tentacles isn't that amazing, especially since she can wield weapons in them too it actually makes more sense for her to use those and use the XP to improve the accuracy.

It's not that much and 1d3 to 2d6 is a pretty big leap, especially given how relatively easy it is for her to get more natural weapons, the fact that each rank of Unarmed Combat would cost 1 XP under Monk and add another +2 to attack and damage and the further benefit Area Lash gives for larger numbers of tentacles.

Sure, but in difference to her mother she also can't purchase a bazllion tentacles because hers don't retract conveniently and hang around all the time, significantly limiting how many can be purchased for her before it becomes a problem.
Also her tentacles already have a innate attack penalty on them, so Area lash is really the only decent use for them as weapon.

At least nobody in the adventurer's club would deride her for them, and I really doubt she has much positive social contact outside of there to begin with.
>>
>>41349349
Only if you are writing a four post long update.
>>
>>41349660
>then you might have to tell Calluna to stop using her tentacles to get everywhere
She can't help it though, she can't retract them or anything, so they are always around.

>and I really doubt she has much positive social contact outside of there to begin with
I kinda would like that to change. And currently she hides her tentacles.

>I definitely want to increase her HP soon.
I can understand that, I suppose. Though I wonder why HP isn't a druid requirement to begin with.
>>
>>41349660
>I definitely want to increase her HP soon. So fragile.
A second thought came to me, wouldn't Barbarian Durability be better for her than more HP?
>>
>>41349714
>I kinda would like that to change.
I would as well, but teenagers are bitches and/or douchebags.

>And currently she hides her tentacles.
She shouldn't have to.

>>41349792
Kinda, but it's also more expensive for less relative gain at her current level of HP than just directly buying HP. DR gets more useful the more hits you can expect to take without dying, since it shaves damage off every hit, or if you can expect your DR to negate a significant portion of the blow.
>>
>>41349995
>She shouldn't have to.
Thats a nice ideal but I don't see it being reality anytime soon and I much rather not have her suffer under it until then.

>>41349995
>for less relative gain at her current level of HP than just directly buying HP
I can see HP being cheaper until 12HP, I think when Hp start costing 2XP for her the 1DR for 4XP starts being better.
>>
Over the rest of the week your main goal is to get Team Fell Storm properly equipped.

First you finish the wand for Cleya, then you make a crossbow for Chame allows her to freeze a target long enough for her to restrain them and then take their place. For Nevyn you think about what would best suit her natural abilities, finally you give up and make her a necklace that boosts her strength and speed.

[Wand of Curses: This wand allows the user to debilitate and demoralise their foes.

Cause Fear; As the spell (1 charge)
Curse: Target suffers a -5 penalty to all d20 rolls and defences, Willpower roll reduces this to 2. Multiple curses do not stack (1 charge)
Insanity: As the spell (2 charges)

This wand has 10 charges; 3 Arcane energy can be substituted for 1 charge]

[Crossbow of Paralysis: Bolts fired from this crossbow paralyse the target for several minutes, Con roll negates – target can make a new roll each round.]

[Nevyns Necklace: Sallazar kinda sucks at naming this. Anyway, this collar triples Nevyns movement speed and adds +2 to her Strength and Agility]

With your evil minions kitted up, you turn your attention to the girls you plan on tutoring: Janrael, Safire, Anlanesa, Calluna and Cleya.

[Anlanesa gains 1.5 Sorcerer Training Points
Calluna gains 3 Wizard Training Points
Cleya gains 3 Wizard Training Points;
Janrael has learned Wizard Magic 1, but not yet Protection from Evil
Safire has not yet been able to improve her natural abilities]

Still, in-between all of that, you find the time to ask the other teachers, and other people you know about appropriate trainers for your girls, that is, the girls in your club.

Asking around you’ve narrowed your choices down to those whom you think would be suitable.
>>
For Monks you could recruit:
Hanslow Smith: The all-style champion and a hero of your younger self. Now apparently a washed-up old drunk who owes the Headmaster a favour.

Mountain Slam: The Half-Orc street fighter currently serving 5 years in prison for killing three people in a cage fight. Said to be very skilled with a focus on hard and combative styles. Donates a lot of his winning to orphanages, and there’s no rumours of him hurting children.

Master Fenra Telgether: A Halfling wanderer who travels the lands looking for ways to improve his arts. He is very willing to take on students and sees passing on his skills as a duty. At 90 years of age he probably knows a lot of different styles but apparently much prefers the softer and less direct ones.

For Bards you carefully picked those who will not be a danger to the girls, in the way bards usually are.

Auriel Sandelwood: An elf bard of some renown. He’s apparently been banished from Torrow for seducing the kings son (no his other son, yes and that one too), well, seducing three of the Kings sons. He would likely welcome a place to live and work where the political clout of the King can’t get him fired. As far as you know he only takes male lovers.

Celeste Baringhall: A cheerful half-elf with a sense of humour about her last name. She is said to have a strong academic interest in the lives of the Soulborn; her research only involves talking to them though, not anything sinister as far as you can tell. She is a bard with a focus on academic interests.

Thunder Drum: A Golem kept at the Shtell Mages guild. Built years ago to master all forms of music and bardic magic. Its performances are said to be technically perfect but lacking in emotion. It’s apparently in shutdown mode until it can solve this problem

[Recruiting vote is later]

Your week is mostly uneventful...mostly.

When tutoring Calluna, she brings her fish, and her puzzle box with her. And her fish can now swim through the air. Lovely.
>>
>>41350047
Are the other evil item suggestions like the vampiric ring/claws and such beyond our means right now?
>>
“Isn’t he wonderful?” she asks, as she plays with him, leading the monstrous-looking thing around the room.

“Amazing” you keep your voice steady “has he learned any other tricks?”

Then something clicks, something that has been bothering you: Callunas clothes usually bulge and writhe when she’s hiding her tentacles. But today her clothes are still, and you cannot see any evidence of her other limbs.

“Have you learned other tricks?” you ask her, ready to raise your Spell Mantle, in case she demonstrates...

“Oh sure!” says Calluna, and then her head disappears, her whole head, like that, just gone.

He body remains standing and she gestures you closer and indicates the stump of her neck...ugh.

You can see into her neck as if her head had been sliced away: her insides don’t look like any anatomists drawings you’ve seen before though.

“That’s...lovely” you say, trying not to feel sick “um, what are you doing?”

Callunas head re-appears, in its correct place “The box you got me” she says “I figured out how to put bits of myself in other places.”

This piques your interest a little “show me” you say.

After some experimenting you and Calluna now know the limits of her new power. Or think you do.
>>
[Extraplanar Body: Calluna can move parts of her body...somewhere else. She must keep at least part of herself on this plane – at minimum a hand, foot, a foot-long part of a tentacle, or her head. Calluna thinks she could *leave behind* other body parts, but you asked her not to try.
Calluna suffers no damage or discomfort when using this power.
When using this power she can move normally, but only the parts of her on this plane can act. Using this power to move body parts from one plane to another is an action – she cannot do it fast enough to dodge an attack for example (yet). Dimensional Anchor and similar block this power – returning all of Calluna to the material plane without harming her. See Invisible and similar cannot detect use of this power, nor Detect Magic. True Sight can but it gave you a terrible headache and you couldn’t make sense of what you saw.
When using this power Calluna benefits from a +1 to +5 bonus to defences, based upon how much of her is present on the material plane.]

“Yes, thank you, that’s lovely” you say, as Callunas disembodied head seems to float around the room, but still bobbing up and down as if she is walking “Please stop doing that” you say “please?”

“Oh sir” says Callunas head as the rest of her slowly reappears “I wanted to ask you, is it normal to hear voices when you sleep?”

“It depends on the dream” you say vaguely “what sort of voices?”

“Like, ones that want me to do stuff or be something” says Calluna, looking confused “like trick people, smash stuff, make friends, take charge or change things around me, stuff like that.”

“Huh” you say, honestly you have no idea why she’s hearing voices. It could just be her own mind telling her things...but then it might not.
>>
What do you say?
>Ignore the voices, but tell me if anything changes
>Listen to them, write down what they say, but don’t act on their suggestions

I get wanting to investigate in-character, but don't panic too much. I mean, one of the voices is her mom.

That doesn't make it really any less dangerous for a third party like Phaysis.

Huh, you know. I just realized there are 5 suggestions, so Nr. 5 is either Shee or Mirror.

We have all reason int he world to believe IC that Callunas head is a dangerous place for people.

That makes too much sense.

>>41350314

She is far beyond far realm. Like out the other side. The outer limits is just a sign post.

Ironically Shee could adapt here well enough, same with the rest of the group. Be a bit too normal for some though. Different power levels though.
>>
>>41350277
We look into THE BOX and wake up screaming about temporal non-linearity.

She looks into THE BOX and is completely fine.

Chances are good that they are dangerous, even if they aren't trying to be.
>>
>>41350363

I think that's a cause for extra worry.

Technically we could both go and Phaysis acts as our dream guide since she has more experience with these things.
>>
>>41350402
>She is far beyond far realm.
IC Sallazar thinks she is at worst a far realm entity, or more likely a soulborn/soulbond of one.

The problem would be that Shee doesn't adapt to things, she adapts things to her.
>>

Oxygen is poisonous, this is that taken a step further.

What do we do when Calluna asks what we're talking about when she gets a 3 20 crit?
>>
“Do you know what a dream diary is?” you ask Calluna. She shrugs.

“Ok, start writing down what they’re telling you to do” you say “don’t act on it, but just find out as much as you can, the more we know the better we can handle this.”

Calluna thinks about that for a moment, as Mr Pogostus gnaws on one of the training dummies “Ok” she says “will you read it with me?”

“Of course” you say, with more confidence than you feel, surely a Mind Blank spell will protect you from written words...

“Also” you say “I’m going to talk to Phaysis, she might know more about dreams...and” you hesitate to say this “maybe we might perhaps if the writing doesn’t help and if there’s no other option go inside your dreams to take a look...?” Best to explore the idea with her than just ask her outright.

Calluna looks at you unblinking, you wonder if you’ve offended her.

Then she leaps forwards and hugs you “Yes please!” she says happily “I’ve always wanted company in my own head.”

Hopefully Phaysis will give you a good reason not to...

You decide to go and speak to Master Fenra Telgether and Thunder Drum first, they seem the best choices to you.

Speaking to any bard is likely to give you a headache, so first you seek out Master Fenra Telgether.

One of the reasons you picked him was his relative proximity: he is within the borders of Albia.

A quick scrying and a teleport later and you’re walking down the road towards him as he continues his travels.

“Master Telgether?” you ask, as he approaches you. He looks like nothing special: an old halfling with white-grey hair in worn travellers clothes and carrying a stick over one shoulder with a small bag hanging from the end.

“So I am called” he says, his wrinkled face breaking into a smile “you don’t look like a bandit young man”

“I’m not” you say “I’m a teacher-”

“Hah, something we share in common then” he stops a few feet away from you “Are you looking for a lesson? If so, give me a moment to warm up these old muscles and get that staff ready.”

What do you do?

Well, why not. You hold your staff in both hands and loosen your shoulders as Master Fenra Telgether puts his bag down and loosens up, then approaches you, a kindly smile on his face.

The first blows you exchange are light, just getting a feel for each other, then you take a solid swing at him, your stance solid and unmoveable...apart from your staff, which goes flying out of your hands and tumbling away.

“Not bad” says Master Telgether “dwarf-trained right? I can see it in your stance.”

You retrieve your staff and try again. As you get your ass kicked, repeatedly you ask him “so what styles do you know? And which are you willing to teach?”

“Oh I know a few” he says vaguely “close to a hundred now, as for which I’ll teach well...I find most students become better people when they learn a calmer, more intuitive style. The brutal thuggish styles with the grunting and smashing create a mindset suited to their techniques. Still, I am willing to admit that not every student is suited to a cleaner style, so I’ll teach what’s best for the pupil, even though some styles are clearly better.”

“So you’ll teach anything you know?” you ask

He shakes his head “not quite” he says “I know the Poisonous Heart style but will not teach it, nor the Gatherer of Souls, nor First Blood – it’s brutal *and* stupid. I have taught the Raging Demon before, once, but I hope never to meet a student suited to *that.* Do you have a style you wish to learn?” he asks, as he sends your staff flying away again.
