As you continue your slow recovery within the healing tank, you can feel your friends fighting for their lives.

Gohan's power is incredible, far exceeding your own, or any power you've ever felt, yet, you can sense his energy beginning to drop. Videl, Haya, and Cell don't seem particularly hurt, but if Gohan goes down, they won't last much longer.

With your power still less than half of what it should be, you know that leaving now would do you very little good. You can only wait for your strength to return, and pray that the others can hold out until then. What King Kai told you makes you even more uneasy. He says that there are others on their way to the planet, drawn by the battle that's been waging. You don't know who else is coming, but with your friends struggling against a single foe now, you doubt they can handle additional enemies.

You can sense worry from all of them, but Gohan seems panicked more than any of the others, understandably in shock that someone could not only match his new power, but surpass it. You recall King Kai saying that Broly transformed into a Golden Great Ape like Gohan did previously, but you aren't sure just how strong that makes him. Still, if the fear you sense is anything to go by, he must be monstrous indeed. Gohan's new power is terrifying, and even he is frightened of his current foe.

You could attempt communicating with one of them, giving them some advice or asking questions about what's going on. Of course, that could distract them.

"Videl, Haya, do you guys see a ball of light in the sky?" you ask the two girls through your telepathy.

"A ball of-oh yeah!" you hear from Haya. "I'm on it!"

You soon feel a jolt of surprise from Gohan, then his confidence returning as he attacks his foe with everything he has. Videl and Haya seem much less frightened, and you can sense Cell backing off from the fight, choosing now to observe instead of getting involved. You take this to mean that Broly is no longer in his Great Ape form, and Gohan is now capable of facing him on more favorable terms.

You decide not to distract the others further, and instead simply monitor their energy and emotions while recovering. The process seems to be moving along more quickly now, with the terrible damage mostly repaired. You're no longer on Death's doorstep, so now it's just a matter of your energy returning.

As the minutes pass, you feel your energy continuing to replenish itself, and soon enough, you find yourself at about three-quarters of your full power. That's when you feel a pang of shock come from Gohan, Videl, Haya, and even Cell. You then feel pain from Videl as something hits her, and a flash of terror and confusion moments after.

As much as it kills you to wait, you stay in the chamber, waiting for your strength to return to you. You can feel panic rolling off of Videl, and anger coming from Gohan and Haya. You sense Cell's energy flare as he attacks something, then shock as his power begins to drop. As the seconds pass, you feel helplessness and dread filling the minds and hearts of your friends. You still sense no new energy sources, so perhaps they were attacked by another of the phantom warriors.

Finally, you feel yourself return to full strength, and teleport to Videl. She lies on the ground, her legs seeming to have turned silver. She doesn't seem to be too badly hurt otherwise, but she's clearly frightened.

Looking around, you see Haya's right arm has been frozen, and her face has been bloodied. Gohan is injured, but none of that strange metal seems to be covering him. Cell, on the other hand, is completely encased in that silver substance, essentially turned into a statue.

Gohan looks over at you, then curses and spins around as an injured and very angry Broly begins to approach him. Gohan gathers his energy, while also looking around for something. You can't sense anybody else, but it seems the one responsible for the strange injuries sustained by the others is likely nearby.

You use your psychic powers to sense for any brainwaves nearby, hoping to locate the other enemy, but you can't sense anything. You look down at Videl, and ask her what happened.

"We'd almost beaten Broly, when this other guy came out of nowhere and attacked us!" Videl explains. "He shot something out of his mouth, and my legs turned to led! Now I'm too slow to fight either of them effectively. Haya and Cell tried to attack the new guy, but Haya got hit in the arm with the same mouth attack, and punched in the face. Cell tried to cut him in half, but got completely encased in the stuff!"

It's like Dabura all over again, only you can't sense him. Great.

With a yell, you gather your power until you're at your strongest. You look over to see Gohan battling Broly, maintaining the upper hand despite his injuries. Still, the battle is taking time, and if another dangerous foe is lurking in the shadows, you and Gohan can't afford to be distracted.

You rush into the fray, catching Broly off-guard and kicking him into the air. He recovers quickly, roaring as he charges down towards you and Gohan.

"KAKAROT!" he screams, gathering energy and firing a massive ball of it down towards you.

Haya fires an energy wave up at it, causing the blast to detonate before it reaches you, and Broly glares down at her hatefully.

"I'm getting tired of you insects!" he shouts, gathering his power to attack again.

You and Gohan cup your hands at your sides, and your palms begin to glow blue as you prepare to attack.

"KAMEHAMEHA!" you shout as one, unleashing great blue beams of energy on the distracted Broly.

With a final yell, the Legendary Super Saiyan is destroyed, consumed by your blasts and reduced to nothing.

"Well, another one with great power," a voice says from above.

You look up to see a large figure slowly descending, landing in front of you and Gohan.

He has grayish blue skin, pointy ears, red eyes, and large, silver plates on his shoulders. He's dressed in a yellow suit with green on his chest, and a yellow cap on his head. He's not a fighter you've seen before, but you can't sense his energy. It's entirely possible that he's some sort of phantom fighter like the others, but there is another possible explanation.

He's mechanical.

"Good, the Doctor will be very pleased when I bring all of you back with me," the large creature says with a grin. "With your energy, he'll be able to complete his plans much sooner than expected."

The creature takes a step forward, and Gohan tenses up, preparing for a fight. The creature smirks at him, then turns his attention over to you.

"I promise this won't hurt," he assures you. "It's much easier if you cooperate with me."

The creature smirks, opening his mouth wide. A green flash of light shoots from his mouth right towards you. Gohan grabs you by the arm and moves you out of the way quickly. The two of you float above the ground, and look down to see that the patch of ground where you'd been standing is now covered by that substance.

"The name's General Rilldo," the creature tells you. "I'm the Commander of Doctor Myu's mechanical armies."

"And who's Doctor Myu?" you ask.

"Only the greatest mind in all of the universe!" Rilldo answers. "And its future ruler."

"And what's he need our energy for?" you ask.

"Now that's a secret," Rilldo answers, rising into the air. "Just rest assured that it's very important, and when it's finished, nobody will be able to stop him."

You fire a barrage of energy attacks down on Rilldo, kicking dust up into the air and obscuring him from your vision. Gohan moves away from you, gathering energy for a Kamehameha Wave. You do the same, gathering your energy into the palms of your hands.

"Ka....me....." you begin.

"Ha.....me....." Gohan says.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" the two of you shout at once, firing your massive blasts down at your opponent.

You watch Rilldo speed out of the dust cloud, and feel the entire planet shudder as the attacks unleashed by you and Gohan strike the ground. The two of you stop feeding energy into them immediately, but it's too late, the planet begins cracking apart. You have only minutes until it's reduced to nothing.

Rilldo stares up at you, seeming to have reached the same conclusion. He stares up at you, debating whether to attack or to retreat. He glances back at Videl, Haya, and then Cell.

He dashes towards the metal statue of Cell, only to be knocked over by an energy wave from Videl. The General pushes himself back to his feet, glaring at her before taking to the sky and fleeing as fast as he can.

"We need to get out of here!" Gohan warns. "Let's get the others and go!"

"Where's Sixteen?" you ask Gohan.

"I don't know," your friend answers. "I haven't seen him since my transformation."

You fly down to the others, picking up Videl while Gohan and Haya grab Cell. The four of you take to the sky, making your way back to the ship, where you find that Sixteen is waiting for you.

"Hurry!" he calls into the air. "By my calculations, we have less than two minutes until this planet explodes!"

You rush inside, activating the launching sequence and shooting into space as Planet Kanassa falls apart below you, crumbling into space dust as you speed away as fast as you can.

"Damn..." Gohan growls. "I can't believe we just destroyed an entire planet!"

"Good riddance," Videl comments. "That place was nothing but trouble, and it's not like there were any innocent people on it."

"And, at least that guy who attacked us died too," Haya adds.

"Negative," Sixteen tells her. "Our scanners are detecting another ship fleeing from the planet. No lifeforms are detected onboard."

"We can go after him, then," Gohan suggests. "We can destroy him before he has the chance to attack us again."

"Very well," the Android says, entering the commands into the console. He pauses, looking towards Gohan. "Your energy is interfering with the systems on this ship. Please, lower it."

Gohan pauses, then nods, returning to his normal state, only to have his face suddenly turn red as he realizes that he's not wearing any clothes.

Videl covers her eyes, and Haya laughs as Gohan runs to get changed. Sixteen finishes entering the commands, and the ship changes course, following General Rilldo.

As Sixteen steps away from the console, you ask him if there's anything he can do to help the others.

Sixteen examines Videl, Haya, and ultimately Cell, his eyes flashing as he investigates the strange substance.

"It is likely that, were Cell to be destroyed in his current state, he could rebuild himself and return to the way he was," Sixteen tells you. "As for Videl and Haya, I believe I will be able to help them if I can get into contact with Bulma. In the meantime, I suggest you take the two of them downstairs. Make sure they stay hydrated and get rest. It is possible that removing the substance from them will be a strenuous process."

"We're right here, you know," Haya points out.

Sixteen nods, then sets to work opening communications with Bulma. You pick up Videl and take her downstairs, Haya following close behind.

"Just peachy," Haya says sarcastically, looking down at her arm. "This was my good arm, too."

"At least you can walk," Videl replies.

"We can fly, not walking isn't a big deal," Haya counters.

"What happened out there?" you ask, interrupting the two of them as you set drinks in front of each of them.

"Well, I destroyed the fake moon, and Broly transformed back to his normal, crazy Super Saiyan self," Haya answers. "Cell backed off, and the rest of us moved in and started attacking Broly. He was tough, but with all of us, he started losing pretty quickly."

"So I decided to sit it out," Videl tells you. "Then Haya did the same thing. That's when that guy came out of nowhere, and turned my legs to led."

"Cell and I attacked the guy, but he got my arm," Haya adds. "Cell got the worst of it, and you saw what happened to him."

"After that, Gohan fired an energy blast at the guy, and he went up into the sky and hid," Videl tells you. "Then you showed up."

"I couldn't get a read on his power," Gohan comments, coming out of his room, thankfully dressed again. "But he was strong, and he picked us apart. It's like Seventeen and Eighteen all over again."

"And I really hope he doesn't have a weird needle draining tank like Spopovich and Yamu did," you add. "That was painful beyond words."

"I'd be more worried about Rilldo," Haya cautions. "He's dangerous."

"Hey, if it means no more ghost fighters coming after us, I'm glad that planet's gone," Videl chimes in.

"One less threat to worry about," Haya agrees.

"I don't see how it could have survived," Gohan tells you. "The planet's gone."

"Didn't Frieza survive an exploding planet like, forever ago?" Haya asks.

"Yeah, but that was different," Gohan replies. "I think that, if whoever was controlling those things could breathe in space, he'd move somewhere other than that barren planet."

"If he sends more enemies our way, we'll handle it," Videl decides. "Bring 'em on! But what about whatever Doctor Myu's planning? What if it ends up being like Cell?"

"With you dying and the rest of us being maimed?" Haya asks.

"Haya!" Videl shouts.

"What? That's what happened," Haya replies. "I'm just making sure he remembers exactly how bad Cell was."

"Well, I hope you know the Spirit Bomb, Gohan," you tell your friend with a laugh.

He chuckles. "Sorry, I don't. Hopefully my new power up will be enough to handle anything we come across."

"Who knew looking for the Black Star Dragonballs would cause this much trouble?" you ask. "Then again, most of our enemies came from space, so I shouldn't really be surprised."

"Whatever's out there, we'll face it together," Gohan says confidently. "And we'll win like we always do."

The four of you talk comfortably for a while until Sixteen comes downstairs, carrying a small device. He approaches Haya, and points it at her arm. A small blue light touches her right arm, which returns itself to normal. He then repeats the process on Videl, fixing her legs.

"Well, any clue where we're being led?" you ask.

"Negative," Sixteen answers.

"Hopefully to Doctor Myu," Haya suggests.

"Well, if he is, then we'd better be ready for anything," Gohan tells you.

Hercule made his way up the stairs towards Videl's room, a tray with her favorite foods in his arms.

He knew she was going to be upset with him. She clearly wanted to join Kaguya in hunting for the Dragonballs, and probably didn't appreciate having him tell her no. But, darn it, he wasn't leaving her alone with a boy for Kami-knows how long, even if that boy saved the Earth a few times. She'd understand, eventually.

"Videl, it's me," he said, knocking on his daughter's door.

No answer.

"Come on, Videl, I know you're mad, but moping in your room isn't good for you," he said.

No answer.

He sighed and opened the door. "Videl, I-"

Videl was nowhere to be found. Hercule decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she went to Erasa's house, or to train at Satan Castle. But, calling Bulma couldn't hurt.

One phone call later, the champion was very, very angry.

"SHE DID WHAT?!" he screamed, slamming the phone down. "The nerve of those two! They're gonna pay for this, especially Kaguya!"

He ran to his window, overlooking the city, and screamed into the night.

"YOU HEAR ME, KAGUYA?! YOU'LL PAY!"

I think he's developed well. He's maintained a good amount of his optimism, but tempered it with knowledge brought on by experience, allowing him to be optimistic without being a naïve child. He still keeps his ideals but realizes when things just need to be done, helping him avoid disaster brought on by sparing evil foes. He's learned to calm down a bit and think things through rather than running impulsively into situations, and he's learned how to deal with his problems better.

I enjoyed the final showdown with Cell, the World Martial Arts tournament, the Frieza/ King Cold attack on Earth, and pretty much any thread where I got to write Kami.

Gohan had though that his new power had prepared him for just about anything. But, as always, something showed up to prove him wrong.

When he'd fought Broly as a child. the Legendary Super Saiyan had been a monster. He'd mercilessly beaten everyone who tried to stand against him, and had only been defeated by a desperate move performed by Nappa, which allowed Gohan to emerge victorious.

Now, the tables seemed turned. Gohan had far more power than Broly, but Broly had transformed into a Great Ape, making him too much for even Gohan's new strength to defeat.

"Haya, stay out of this!" Gohan warned, flying out of the way as the massive ape attempted to step on him.

Gohan fired a Masenko at Broly's face, causing the beast to take a step back. But, the attack did no real damage, and Gohan was forced to flee as the ape unleashed a blast of energy from his mouth with enough power to vaporize Gohan, Haya, Cell, Kaguya, and Videl together. Gohan managed to avoid the blast, but was knocked out of the air by the ape's fist. As Broly stomped towards his prone foe, Haya intervened, unleashing her most powerful attack upon the beast.

The mushroom cloud hanging over the spot where the blast struck was blown away as Broly let out another roar, not of pain, but of anger at being interrupted. Gohan watched Haya desperately evade the ape's attacks, then got to his feet and fired a Kamehameha Wave, getting Broly's attention.

Cell attempted to attack the creature from behind with a Destructo Disk, but Broly created a field of energy around himself before blasting Cell out of the air.

Videl's arrival did little to help, and it seemed that, even with their combined powers, they were going to die at the hands of this beast.

Then Haya blew up the fake moon.

Broly roared as he slowly shrunk back to his normal state, and Gohan smirked as the battle turned back in his favor.

"Well, I think I'll sit out, now," Cell Junior decided, moving back and observing as Gohan, Haya, and Videl moved in for the kill.

Broly still fought fiercely, but with the three mighty warriors attacking him at once, he was quickly beaten back.

"Man, this is no fun," Videl said with a sigh, moving back. "You guys can handle the rest."

Haya soon reached the same conclusion, and decided to let Gohan take it from here. Gohan was happy to have Broly to himself, and pummeled the Legendary Super Saiyan.

Dodging or blocking every attack Broly threw his way, Gohan answered with more power and ferocity than even Broly could muster, and soon the hulking warrior was battered and running low on energy. Victory was within sight.

Then, the machine attacked.

I want Chiaotzu and Master Roshi to have at least one cool moment. I tried giving Chiaotzu one in the Buu saga, but that basically amounted to nutting up and attacking a stronger opponent, then getting crushed immediately.

I'm pretty happy with Yamcha and Tien for the most part, though I hope to keep them relevant, and I want Krillin to do some more ass kicking.

I also want Piccolo to become relevant again, and maybe have Sixteen, Seventeen, and Eighteen group up again.
