>You are a villager girl named Ellen from a small village in the nation of Neir, on the continent of Teege. As a member of the local militia/guard, you were trained in swordplay. Your fighting style is best compared to the mercenary class, though technically you're currently a sword-using trainee/villager class that can become one.

>After eliminating a group of bandits that destroyed your hometown, you and the fellow survivors of the incident have decided to stick with Prince Garrus for the time being.

>The questmasters are Octoling (myself), and Grandflaw. There's no particular rhyme or reason to who posts when.

>Character Death is always a possibility (this is Fire Emblem after all), but your actions can very easily influence who lives and who dies.

>Voting periods will last an average of fifteen minutes, but this may be increased, decreased, or generally changed at any given moment based on voter turnout.

You and the remaining survivors of Orsin village took a day or so after the defeat of the Johalva to pay respects to your fallen friends and neighbors, which Garrus immediately permitted.

Today is your last day in your hometown, everyone scrounging up what remains of their belongings from what remains of buildings.

The old farmer from before this horrible raid began stands with you in the center of town. "Gorman would've been proud," he mutters, apparently having actually remembered you exist as a member of the community since you last spoke.

The old farmer frowns. "All these things you say you could've or should've done mean a lot of nothing. I should've found out if my farmhand was a stinking drunk before I took him on, but you'll never find a more enthusiastic worker. Silver lining, that's what I'm talking about."

After that, he departs. You're alone in the center of town, but you know others are around. Where should you check?

You consider stopping by the remains of a local tavern for some reason, but change your mind upon thinking about the shaggy-haired farmhand that you consider reason to avoid that place.

Instead, you head towards the village's residential area, looking to see if you or your friends' homes still stand.

You glimpse Mitchell through the window of a relatively-intact house, and Robert and Jay wandering around aimlessly, likely for similar reasons to yourself.

Ruined houses everywhere, and the few that still stand relatively undisturbed no longer belong to anyone living.

You put away the herbs, and find yourself desiring to actually bite the bullet and check out the tavern. Besides, maybe that guy won't...

He is.

You hear the sounds of the tall, shaggy, eye-obscuring haired, booze-loving farmhand before you even enter the (somewhat damaged) door.

"Bah, damned Johalvas took all the good stuff! Why'd I have to be the one guarding everyone who couldn't fight when the Outpost w's raided?"

"That... sounds like a bad idea," you tell him, quite frankly.

Just as quickly as you respond, he has a rebuttal, "worried it won't be safe? Don't worry, I'm still great with a lance! C'mon, you've gotta be looking for a drink if you swung by here..!"

"Ellen!" a voice booms, followed by Yvette, Garrus' somewhat old retainer, riding up to the tavern.

You turn and ask what she requires, to which she responds, "Prince Garrus requires your presence immediately." She then helps you onto her horse, not even acknowledging the farmhand.

You ask, "what does the prince need?"

After she's gotten far enough from the tavern, her features soften into what can almost be called a smile, before she responds, "nothing, really."

It's not difficult to realize that she used this as an excuse to get you away from whatshisname.

Also, I've been taking a few minuets looking around for a classic fire emblem portrait since I don't have even the little skill required to make one that might fit our heroine (you'd be surprised by how hard it is to find a female one that is even a little bit muscular without having some knightly armour that we wouldn't really have at this point) and I happened upon pic related. "Biff suggested we help Natalie move whatever of her things are still here."

"So why aren't you helping?"

"He said something about how he was sure he would be enough help for her, but that they would come get me if I was needed. He said this knowing I've always had more actual strength than him. Very transparent, no?"

Byron must notice some level of concern in your expression, since he immediately adds, "oh, I promise there's no danger to this. He can be a bit... intense, but he wouldn't ever even think of doing something immoral. Unless Natalie has a low tolerance for loud noises, you've nothing to worry about."

While you're sure Byron and his friend can be trusted, you still don't know how Natalie is reacting to this situation, so you just waltz into the church. Byron nods understandingly and follows as you pass.

You two find Biff and Nat discussing nothing in particular. He asks if she's ever considered studying light magic tomes, becoming a bishop, something of the sort. He also shares an anecdote about how he and Byron got their first horses, to which Nat blankly states "that's pretty funny."

Biff is one of the few people who would take such a deadpan comment at face value, taking delight in her perceived delight, and you know Nat well enough to know that she's not remotely sarcastic.

Eventually, Byron feels awkward standing there, though, and clears his throat.

"Weren't we supposed to be helping carry things?"

Natalie nods, looking at nobody in particular. "Did you come to help too, Ellen."

It's mainly the tan skin and white hair, though tall height and that kind of musculature tend to appear somewhat commonly as well.

Quests that allow anons to vote on appearance are fairly rare and tend to die, which is the reason you don't see more MCs with those kinds of features. There's still at least one MC I can think of that would fit the above four appearance features rather well.

Not really relevant, but there was one quest that did appearance generation entirely with d10s and wound up with a tan, white-haired, muscular vampire girl.

"I'd wanted to see how you were doing, since we hadn't spoken since before the Outpost, but I figured I might as well help out if that's what you're doing!"

Nat nods. "I'm. About as fine as I can be, all things considered. I appreciate your concern, though."

A surprising amount of the junk in Natalie's storage room remains unlooted. Most of its value was lost with the village, but a few Mend and Heal staves, pure waters, vulneraries, concoctions, the odd light tome and a LOT of healing herbs were found under various space-encompassing odds and ends.

It's almost difficult for the four of you to pack up and carry the important things, and Nat seems hesitant to leave behind anything.

"The chief's lineage of the Tarvos and Neir's royal family have enjoyed a close bond since the hatching of Khozen. Members of both families besides any given generation's heir have always lived with and served the other family as a gesture of continued goodwill and trust. Prince Garrus' younger sister, Salia, has actually lived among us for over a decade, and my uncle Antiman is a close advisor, friend, and diplomat for King Drasma."

"Prince Garrus has a younger sister?"

Quidel nods. "Drasma had Salia and a retainer come to live with us when she was six. She wound up moving unusually early after an... incident. Normally younger siblings wait until they're slightly younger than me before moving, but Drasma thought it would be wise to amend relations as quickly as possible."

"And who's this Khozen?"

"The high rulers of Neir, they are always depicted upon a magnificent silver wyvern. This same wyvern is Khozen, who has acted as a... sort of familiar and mount to Neir's rulers since a woman known as Hauteclere hatched it, in some ritual involving the scepter of Katri. Allying with the Tarvos and riding on Khozen, she was able to establish Neir in the remains of an oppressive empire."

"That's... really cool." You say, yawning a bit.

Quidel frowns in concern, "oh, I hope I'm not talking too much about this. I'm... a bit too enthusiastic about history, and it's very late, and..."

Learning history is always nice, unless it's a big info dump at the last minute.

You not only reassure him that it's fine, but that you would like to hear even more about Neir and Tarvos' history.

His face lights up when you say this, "alright, but you might want to find someplace to sit. I'm sure you'll be flat-out worn out by me eventually."

He chuckles, and after you find a nice enough spot to sit, he begins unload so much historical information on you, providing a detailed recount of the Tarvos' vital role in Queen Hauteclere's revolution against the oppressive Gerxel empire. The story is fit for an epic, and you find yourself impressed at how he retells this word for word.

As the hours pass, however, you find yourself drifting off, despite your best efforts. Eventually, Quidel takes notice, and suggests that you call it a night. You fall asleep in the middle of the retelling of Hauteclere and her companions' children's exploits.

You wake up in your tent to the sound of Yvette screaming at someone else entirely to wake up (you like to imagine it was Stefyn or the farmhand), a note beside your resting spot reading "Thank you for listening to me blabber as much as you did. It seriously means a lot."

Now you're haven't had enough sleep and are about to embark on a trip to the capital of your nation in this state.

This seemed like a fair stopping point, but I should be around for awhile to answer questions. Follow on twitter @qmgrandflocto for updates.

Grandflaw was supposed to go see a doctor soon, so hopefully he will be posting again before too long.

You did certainly bond with Quidel quicker than expected. Support-C is a far more vague deal here than in the games, though, and enough smaller interactions with someone can also raise your support rank. I'd say you've reached that point with Byron, Natalie, Yvette, and Quidel. You nearly have with Garrus, but there's logically going to be significantly more opportunities to bond with him than many other characters.

Maybe sometime I'll put the hair/eye colors to an official vote, if we have a shorter thread.

I'd say around level 7 or 8 of a trainee class best compared to mercenary, which grew fairly fast and capped/auto-promoted at level 10 in Sacred Stones. If you haven't reached it by the time you get to Rakche, you definitely will there.

What's this you're talkin about ranks?
>>
>>41274982
It's a Fire Emblem term. In the games, characters bond with others by fighting alongside them, and with certain pairs of characters this would lead to support conversations, little bits of character interaction that would also grant both characters statistical bonuses when they're close to each other. These are ranked by C, B, A, and in the two most recent games, S for a single romantic partner. Each has their own single conversation to them.

The ranks themselves are just a good reference point for closeness to a given character, but for the most part they won't work by "one conversation=one stage" levels unless that conversation has some sort of strong impact on the characters involved, such as your conversations with Yvette and Quidel in this thread.
