Worlds collide and clash, as doors open and energy floods in, all with one destination. Forces beyond sight smash together and impact with shattering explosions. Two grand armies match up against their counterpart, one of the abyss and one of existence. And into this, a change is about to occur, something to shift the balance.

You are… Well you’re still not entirely sure who you are. You’re a roughly 25 year old human male, that much you know. Beyond that? You’re only starting to remember your past. You know that you come from an urbanised world with a number of distinct nations spread across its face and no space colonies as well as a name - Varytita, one that you have decided to keep for now.

You just recently emerged from a place you now know is called the “blank space” and entered some kind of fantasy world and, due to a rapidly following misdemeanour, discovered that you are what is known as a Spirit Pair - two souls sharing a single physical frame that allows the two of you to use all the powers you both possess. You also discovered who your spirit pair was - due to a crit success on the roll, it is Tiamat, the Gravitic Draconus.

After a quick series of punchups, a couple of severe injuries, a major intervention, some training, learning that there are some REALLY big fish in the sea, you have started to go out and do some field work. After some consideration, you went for the Universe of Warhammer Fantasy and brought Dr. Mario along, who turned out to be a decent tank and power hitter, although a bit slow.

Current Abilities (Minora level):

Strength (Physical Power): **
Durability (Not Giving a Fuck): *
Speed (Gotta Go Fast): **
Senses (Eye Spy): *
Elemental Abilities (Gravity): **
Control (That Was Intentional, I swear!): *
Synchronisation (The Blank Space): ***

Transformation ++: Transforms your frame into an androgynous human dragon hybrid (removing clothes) possessing far greater strength, durability and speed than it would appear possible for a roughly man sized individual. Add three to Strength, Durability and Speed for parts transformed. Full body transformation is possible and advised for nastier fights.

Draconic Flight +: When your torso is transformed, you gain a pair of wings that are more than capable of launching you into the air and a tail to help you direct yourself. Your flight is currently pretty slow and clumsy. The tail and wings are both more than capable of smacking things around, though.

Draconic Senses +: When your head is transformed, you can take use of a Dragon’s senses, which are superior to a humans. Add one to senses when transformed. These can be improved by further focus or specifically added to the human frame. You still are unused to these senses most basic level and cannot tap further into them.

Disintegration breath +: A technique that forcibly moves atoms away from each other when struck by this energy, blasting the affected apart at a molecular level. Using this technique will require a backlash roll. It is small and lacks focus, but is definitely potent.

Regeneration +: Over time, you will regenerate from damage. It won’t save you an arm, but it’ll recover most light injuries. You get the feeling that this ability is a lot weaker than it once was.

Memory Rush: Over time, your memories and Tiamat’s regarding you will return. This will lead to knowledge and improved abilities as you remember who you once were and how you could fight. Major events, triggers or massive damage may accelerate this process.

Murdering stuff of at least a certain power level will give you Anima. Anima can be spent to improve abilities or improve your frame. 100 Anima is required to improve an ability from + or * to ++ or ** respectively, doubling in requirement each time you want to improve one. Once you hit a certain point, you will improve in rank, gaining relative stat boosts around the board but the level of abilities you have will remain the same, only they will be objectively better.

Current Anima: 0

Rolls will be a DC system in divisions of 5 using the D100, taking the best of the first three for the most part. Alternative systems may arise as time goes on, but we’ll see.

You just currently have been spat out of the portal from Eris directly over a Battlefield. Upon halting your descent, you looked down and saw carnage. On one side is a proud array of Knights with pennants fluttering in the wind, horses tramping feet on the ground and trebuchets locking on. On the other side is a swarm of Ratmen, warped monstrosities and crackling devices breaking the tide here and there. No Mans land is a charnel house, men, rats, horses and abominations littering the field like broken child's toys.

>Land in front of the Knights and offer assistance

You turn in midair and plummet down like a black comet. You pause mentally as you realise that your jet black scales may not go over the best with these guys. Oh well, at least they aren't green or brown. Dr. Mario calls after you but otherwise keeps hovering.

You spin in and dive towards the Brettonians before flaring your wings at the last instant and landing with a not-insignificant crash. Several horses shy away from you and a general cry goes up before you have about 5 lances and a dozen swords pointed at your face. One man with much fancier kit trots up the front and looks at you.

"What devilry is this? The Skaven have found a way to corrupt the Lizardmen? Maybe grow some kind of stunted Dragon to serve them? Speak!"

You decide to maintain your transformation and remain in your half dragon form as you slowly rise to your full height. The Knights don't get any more pointy with their blades, but you can sense the tension in the air. You could probably taste it if your senses were any better. You tell the leader that you are just passing by. "And I'm meant to believe that?" he scoffs. "Look around you, creature, this is war. And in war, being trusting is lethal. So why should I believe you."

You turn that on him - explaining that you wanted to know what was happening here. Potentially so you could pick a side.

"You don't know who we are? We are the Knights of the realm of Bretonnia! Fair land of the Lady and one of the greatest nations in the Old World. And we are at war here with these rats, these "Skaven" as they call themselves, as they have invaded our land. You stand on Bretonnian soil, land soiled by those vermin."

So why should you fight for them?

"Because we do not seek total world domination and or destruction of the world. We fight for our Land, King and Lady. We are the just and we love our country."

Well then

>Passed the twitchy check

You spin down again and hurtle towards the Skaven(?) Lines, shooting forward as fast as you can fly - which isn't very. You're much faster on the ground. Perhaps you can put some practice into flight skills later? Meh.

As you swoop in, you land a little more gracefully this time. The ratmen still back away from you indecently fast, a few quavering swords held aloft. However, there are a shit ton of them, and they regain their courage, pressing forward, but never individually approaching more than a few metres from you.

A massive bell like construct is hauled forth and a single larger rat on top looks down at you, Horns adorning its head. "What is this Drake thing? Hmm? Drake things are not normal around here, yes yes. So why is drake thing here? Drake thing is black, yes yes, does it come to aid Skavenblight? A gift from Thanquol, curse him? We saw drake thing with the man things, talking to them as well. So why drake thing here?"

Damn, this thing talks fast.

You give the Skaven leader much the same talk as the Bretonnians - first stating that you were just passing by. You get a pretty similar response. "Just passing by? And I am meant to believe you are telling the truth truth? In times where Skaven march with Chaos, nothing is truth truth. Except battle favours. Why should I trust drake thing, when saw it talking to man things?"

You explain to the rat that you wanted to know who and what is happening so that you could potentially pick a side. You're just getting both sides of the tale. As you say that, you get the feeling that the rat gets a little bit pissy.

"Who we are? We are the Skaven! The great children of the Great Horned Rat! We rule the world underground. All tunnels lead to Skavenblight, Drake thing. ALL. We are claiming our rightful place here, we have always lived here underground. And with the march of Archaon, we will have it!"

So why should you fight for them?

"To have the chance to be on the winning side. To serve the Gods of Chaos and do not what is right, but what WORKS, Drake thing."

>Offer your help to the Bretonnians

You take flight again, your mind made up. As much fun as you believe helping the Rats would be, you decide that you wish to help out with the people who actually have it in the right. Plus, humans are easier to work with. You understand how they speak, for one.

As you land back at the Bretonnian lines, the same fancy man from before trots out and immediately begins talking. "What now? We saw you talking with the filthy vermin over there. What do you want?"

You catch him by surprise when you state that you want to assist with the battle against the Skaven.

"Well, I won't turn down assistance, but you aren't sabotaging my command. I rule this detachment, and over me one whom I cannot say. You may fight with my men however you see fit, just don't get in the way. If you do, I will treat you as an enemy. And I have slain dragons before."

Something tells you he isn't bluffing.

Right, I can do this battle in one of two ways. We keep going as well are, or I can do it like a game of fantasy, shortened though and rather minimalistic, using images as the representation of the army manoeuvres. You guys call.

We don't yet have the capacity to transform into a full dragon. It's out of your reach. More points in transformation, control, synchronisation and flight are required before full dragon mode can be used. Full dragon mode is not subtle. At all. It's designed for massive engagements, which is why Zophagros prefers his Human or Hybrid form in combat - it's controlled and subtle which is how he likes to fight ridiculous opponents.

Ok, that's majority call on the following:

>Fight like a monster
>Call Down Dr. Mario
>Do it like normal

The Bretonnian rank are simple: They have a pair of Trebuchets in the back, a quartet of Knight Lances with about 7 characters spread among them, two Wizards, and a Peg Knight Unit. The Lances are out the front in the middle and the Pegs are off to the left flank. That's it.

On the other side, the giant brick of Stormvermin pushing the Screaming bell is dead centre, Slave buses to either side, a Warp Lightning Cannon in the right, a Doomwheel and Hellpit Abomination on the left and a 6 man pack of Stormvermin off to the right with Miniguns. There may be more.

Where do you want to insert yourself and Mario?

You promptly flare your wings as the Skaven begin advancing, the Doomwheel and Hellpit Abomination surging up towards the Pegasus Knights. You take to the air as the Knights break into a trot, heading forward slowly as the Stormfiends push up. Dr. Mario immediately makes a push towards the Hellpit Abomination as the Peg Knights remain where they are. Magical energies swirl around two of the Knight Lances and the Large bell in the centre as it begins to ring, the crashing noises rippling over the battlefield. The Trebuchets begin firing on the Stormfiends as the Warp Lightning Cannon takes aim at you and fires, energy crackling off to your left as it just barely misses. As the Knights break into a thundering charge, you dive down on the cannon, claws bared. The Stormfiends take notice of you just barely too late as you impact the rickety Warp Lightning Cannon with savage force, Draconic muscle and claw tearing the flimsy wood apart like paper.

You pause and turn around. The Knights have slain many of the Rats on their thunderous rush, but the tide is turning against them as they become more and more bogged down. The storm fiends are turning your way, their dangerous weapons beginning to lock onto you. The Pegasus Knights have started to circle the Doomwheel as more lightning erupts from the construct to down one Knight.

Dr. Mario and the Hellpit Abomination seem to have reached a stalemate: Neither is really hurting the other. Beyond that, though, you can see a sneaky squad of rats beginning to circle around towards the Trebuchets.

What do?

You decide that the ones who are going for the Trebuchets are the most important to kill, regardless of the fire you'll take on the way. You take wing again, shooting forward towards the rats as they reach one of the Trebuchets, the crews panicked shouts reaching your superior ears as you fly. You glance down as the Stormfiends brace themselves on the ground and let loose two thundering volleys at you. The first strikes all along your flank, tainted rounds leaving deep injuries, but not fatal ones. However, it stings like a bastard and the bullets will NEED to be removed. The second volley only strikes your wings and for the most part the small holes regenerate instantly.

>Health 65%

You quickly wing it as the first Trebuchet's crew is killed while the second one desperately dumps another rock towards the Stormfiends, killing one. Dr. Mario and the Hellpit Abomination continue to slapfight, both having sustained moderate wounds now. The Peg Knights have managed to dismantle the Doomwheel, but two of their number are dead, leaving only three. The fight in the centre is turning against the Bretonnians as the charge falters out. The large Banner is gone from the Skaven ranks, but you can see the corpse of one of the Paladins in the mud as well. As you butcher the flankers, the Stormfiends begin to rush towards the flanks of the diminished lances.

>Intercept the Stormfiends

You let out a savage roar as you launch yourself into the air again, the battlefield momentarily pausing to look as you rocket towards the Stormfiends. The creatures shy away, terrified as you slam into them with vicious intensity. For just a moment, Tiamat and Your wills combine with one very simple intention.

Slaughter.

You slice towards the Stormfiends with direction and intensity. They let out a thunderous volley in your direction, Warp tainted bullets rocketing towards you. With a twisted combination of Scream and Roar, a blast of gravitic energies ripples forth from your frame as you fly forward, the bullets being instantly repulsed from you as you fly forward. As you come in fast and hard, you finish feet first and allow your repulsing energies to blast out as you strike the ground with sickening force, crushing one entirely underfoot and blasting the other four around. To their credit, the alchemical abominations recover quickly and launch heavy bludgeoning blows. Entirely futile. They cannot get within a metre of your frame without being repulsed.

Kill.

You use your new speed to dash into one and grab it by the chest with you right arm as you feel the claws cut meat and sink into bone, while you grasp the creatures arm with your other hand, tearing the entire arm and a good portion of the chest bodily off, a good chunk of the chest being ripped away as well with a wet tearing noise and a scream of agony from the Stormfiend. You let go of the arm and plunge your free arm into the hole in the chest before releasing a blast of gravitic energies, tearing the thing apart from the inside with brutal force and a rain of tainted blood.

Kill.

The others attempt to respond with force, the only weapon they know but with your repulsion up, they cannot harm you...We... We lash out and grasp two by the neck, feeling the claws slice flesh and sinew as We bring them tight, smashing skulls together with crushing force, bone breaking, warping, pulverising under forces that their feeble frames cannot match. The limp bodies fall to the floor and are blasted away as We turn up the gravity, trapping the last remaining pair to the floor. We let them see their doom, their Fate as We approach on Scale'd feet, each clack a pronouncement of doom. They struggle. Futile. We grasp them on the back, one hand for each creature. We push the hand through their backs, slowly but surely, the screams music to Our ears. Such pitiful things, so weak before forces they cannot comprehend. A sliding grasp over the heart. So puny. Such a weak beat that keeps these things alive.

KILL

A severing. A cessation. We draw the hand out of their backs, coated in gore. We look up. The Skaven are fleeing. They are terrified. As rightly they should be.

But nothing escapes We.

Our wings are ideal for this. We take off, flying fast and low, claws at the ready. So many to kill, we will have to slice fast. We need better control. We are one though. We are In control. And We have speed, power, control, everything. Our wings feel clumsy. Remember, remember well how to resolve that. Steadiness, rotate forward.... We fly true now.

We dive on the ratmen, claws out, exposed, ready, sharp. We cannot be stopped by these. We dive, swooping low, slicing, cutting, ripping, tearing. We have Control. We can Fly. We can

KILL

When you wake up, you are surrounded by a sea of blood and corpses. The Leader looks up at you, blood bubbling from his mouth as you notice that your claws are impaled in his chest. "Drake thing strong, yes yes." He croaks. "Not expected. But you have won." With one last burst of energy, the ratman grabs your shoulders and looks you square in the eye. "But none can stop what is to come. So leave this place quickly."

As you stand up. You look around. The Bretonnians are standing there, mounted or dismounted. They left many in the dust. But the lord lives. And he is standing next to Dr. Mario. And all are looking at you.

"Come, creature. I must take you to the Monastery. My lords will need to see you."

Right, that'll be all for this run. Any questions or queries I can answer, feel free to ask.
>>
>>41235595
So what exactly is synchronisation do, in detail?

What benefits do we gain from leveling it?

Does getting 100's make progress towards leveling synch, if not outright leveling it up?

How is Mario?
>>
>>41235595
Fun fight, shame I missed it.

Thanks for running

Synchronisation is a requirement. It allows you to use bigger and better stuff, as well as fight more together and draw out more power. Basically it's an all around low power point that is required for high level abilities. For example, the higher your synch, the less backlash there will be from using abilities. In fluff, it's the connection between you and Tiamat.

Getting 100's may or may not get you synch. It probably will for a bit, but not forever. It's heading towards capping out.

Mario took a bruising and a few nasty cuts, but he's healing. He has strong regeneration. The Hellpit is dead. He ripped open its chest and fried it with fire lightning. from the inside.
