The village of Bloodwater near the halfling community of Giant's Crossing ruled by their mighty Chief Vengral and settled near the River where Giant beastmen have crossed to attack their homes and now...more beasts from the plains come to possibly destroy their homes.

Goblins, as told by the Halflings by the description of the little green men, are nasty creatures. Runtish beast with love of Fire, Blood, and seeing things Die. Usually in that order.

Last time, it was agreed to retrieve reinforcements before engaging the Goblin Band which was found seemingly fleeing from something. But now, the question of Peace VS the Prospect of War is on the horizon...

A: Attack them before they know we are here! Charge!
B: Sneak in their camp, try to kill those that are sleeping.
C: Send a peaceful envoy out to call for diplomacy.
D: Leave them be, no sense messing with useless Goblins.
E: Write in.

As the band begins preperations, and they sneak closer as if hunting game. Night falls and the moon rises, and they begin their war cries as they charge. Crying to long dead ancestors or warriors of old they begin the assualt.

The defense was nothing, and the halflings gave their support with stones from the slings they carried. The men struck down the goblins like they weren othing and soon the goblin forces were defeated...few survived and were captured in a hut that the humans trapped them in...

The goblins are quickly rounded up, and soon are made to swear their loyalty in their gutteral version of the tribal common tongue.

There were only ten survives, two women three children, and five males who were craftsmen or hunters who were sleeping and helped defend the huts. They are 'escorted' back to the camp and quickly a small hut for the entire group is created. Their job of fishing in the river is made, and the children are watched by the females.

What do we do now...?

As Watersoul sits by the water, and watches it he starts to swing his hand back and forth. He tilts his head as the water moves, it wasn't uncommon for such acts to happen around him and most of the village made sure to be kind to the lad as he was very nice, peaceful even.

As he stepped into the ankle deepwater, he felt something pulling at him from the deeper parts and cried for help...and many villagers saw him be pulled into the deepest hole in the river...

After a few moments the chief was removing his ceremonial garb to retrieve the lad when he saw the boy rise. A glittering sphere of dark red crystal in his arms. The halflings stared as did the villagers.

"It's our destiny..." The young Magi said and held it up as it started to shine slightly and paint symbols of red with the light and the little red lizard that flew throughout the village flew forward and landed on the boys shoulders with a chirp...Seems the Orb also glowed with an odd inner fire.

The halfling sure don't know what the devil it is and the Elders are trying to find where the symbols came from. "It was big like the Moon. It had...a big face and big blue eyes and looked like the little statue kinda." He explained and looked at the orb.

"It said that...this will help but nothing else before I float up to the top." Watersoul said with a shrug.

As this Expedition starts to be formed, The chief decides that he will join and leaves the Elders to watch the village while he is away. As he journeys with his scouts, his guardian Orc-Slayers who he has dubbed Heroes of the Tribe. As they travel down the river, they begin to find large square stones.

And as they continue on...they begin to see a large structure. Taller than trees made of dark black stone but splitered off and having seemingly fallen through time like a tree having burnt down. A few things move in the rubble, large rats and birds stare at them..

There also seems to be three places to explore...but where...?
A: Near the top bit that fell, might be something good in there.
B: There is something near the base where it connects to the ground. Could be some loot.
C: There is a hole that goes underground not far from the structure...could it be something too?

The group of scouts go to the first level, starting to poke around finding broken shards of glass and shattered wooden tables. Most of it was just splinters and kept poking around until they came across a few things hanging in a room off the main hall.

Things were in Glass cases, most of them were gone. Taken by some unknown force but a small figurine made of dark blue metal sat on a stand. Covered in dust, The chief walked forward, and picked up the statue to give it a closer look and found it was the figurine of a wolf that had odd symbols all over it.

As he ran his hands over it's head, it began to shine and a new figurine appeared, standing in front of the Chief causing him to reach for his axe when he saw it. An unnaturally large wolf, the same color as the metal stood in front of him with such intelligent eyes and insight as if waiting for a command.

After a few moments, the creature was at the chief's side as he proclaimed it as his prize from the tower and none else wanted the odd beast... All that was left was shiny stones that Dwarves seemed to like but that was about it in this section.

As the group starts to leave the main floor, and head to the top they start to find traces of someone having been there...they go on the alert and hold their blades and axe at the ready before going into a room with the Trapdoor now being a normal door in the wall. As they open the door...

"Wait! Wait!" A strange voice, unlike any that they had heard before. The chief squints and sees a young woman, long blonde hair and long robes made of some kind of cloth like that of the Dwarves or halflings. Her ears were pointed and her eyes, the color of the sky, were in the shape of almonds.

"I mean no harm...I came to this place and have gotten lost...I found much please I beg do not attack." She begs, speaking the tongue in an odd accent...

"The Hole...?" She asked and rubbed her side, "That must have been the mine. A simple iron mine that was found by the servants who helped build the tower."

"Come, we have a place in the Village." The chief said, and the elf blinked confused and nodded quickly.

"Thank you Human, it is an honor..." She said and they began to head back to the village. The human villagers begin to stare but many of the Children find the woman pretty...and the information about a mine seems to interest the halfling citizens as well.

Watersoul and the Elf start to speak, some of the Elders watching curiously as the work goes surpringly quickly. As it turns out, the night that the Elf comes to dinner she explains that he knows the basic cantrip of Acid Splash, though it is still weak.

As well he knows how to create light and he seems to have devoloped a Magical polyglot from his contact with the orb, along with the blessing of literacy. Even as dinner goes on he is reading a book, something even the Elders have never seen before and his nose is buried in at the markings.

The homes took a bit longer, and work on them will have to continue through the next day as well to get everything to shape.

A Few longhouses were build for meals and cooking with smaller family huts were made for those who had families of their own. Though the chief helped build one of a medium size for himself...he was the chief.

As night passes, few guards are posted with the new walls. They take up positions as sitting on thick sections of the wall when they hear it.

A hooting sound, hooting and hollaring like men excited after bringing down a hunt. The men start to look into the air and soon they see torches in the air with dark flying shapes until they come closer...six shapes in total and landing at the front gate of the village.

As many wake to see these new arrivals...it seems that the Dwarves have come back with large...Birds? They looked like birds of the face, but their bodies were like that of cats.

"A Pleasure seeing you all again." The Dwarf said in the tribal tongue, seems the old friend had been taking lessons... "We bring you a gift, as we recently have begun the process of taming our new mounts." He says gesturing to the bird creature that was looking at a few of the villagers...

"We bring you a gift of Far Seeing..." The Dwarf said and pulled out a tube that he extended carefully and put to his eye. "And with that, we are off on more little patrols, can't 'ave Dragons coming back to the mountain homes eh?" He asked before running over to the largest and kicking off with the beast squaking and him hooting as it dipped and twirled with the other Dwarves following...

Dwarves are fucking weird.

The group of hunters and chief have decided wood is very important. And thus have decided to use some of their tools and weapons to clear a bit of the forest out. It takes more of the day, and a good bit of help to get most of the huge trees in a pile outside the village walls but it's done. A good bit of the far bank is exposed and one could build a few huts with one very large one in the center if they so desired now. As well it gives them easier access to the forest. C, post a sentry and get a mining thing up. Also build defenses around all tunnels and the entrance to the mine itself with at least two armed gaurds at all times.
>>
>>41224066
I don't think mining is a good idea at this point.

The scouts quickly start making fortifications, stones being moved and the Wizard drawing a large ruin down the tunnel barely in sight before scampering off and having a similiar mark on her ear.

As the barricade is made, and a scout returns with a few more men to start to help a sound is heard deep within the tunnel...

As time goes by, things start to come through but the Elf holds her hand for them to stop as a group of little creatures, smaller than Halflings start to run out of the cave and into other little caverns. Gnomes, by word of the Elf and soon a party of the dark skinned warriors are charging toward the barricade...

Only to be crushed by boulders rolled down in a huge wave by one of the less intelligent hunters . The rest look at him and he raises his hands in triumph and starts to slip down the tunnel, holding a club and looking for the gnomes who seem to have melded into the stone itself...

A: GET THE FUKKIN LOOT
B: Try to find the Gnomes.
C: Bury it, Not Worth. Not Worth.
D: Write in.
>>
>>41224267
>B: Try to find the Gnomes.

And if we happen to pick up the loot on the way that would be wonderful
>>

B. More allies? Maybe?

That's a funny way to say slaves
>>

Slaves are kinda like allies.

Just forcefully made into allies.

Gnomes are probably Closer.
The Fukkin' Lootz is probably at the closest wall that the humans can't See. At least not yet.

As the rest start to poke their heads around the fortifications a few stones move like magic out of the way on the walls and Gnomes start to spill out and toward the barricades to leave. One of them with a Hammer for one hand and Pickaxe for another (Gods bless you if you know who this is based off of) comes up and bows to the chief before heading toward the elf to start to speak.

After a few moments she explains that their home was overrun by the Drow and they had to flee up the tunnels they found and had killed one drow which just kinda pissed the rest of them off more causing the whole group to flee from their little roving camps.

A: Invite them to the village!
b: Let them sorta inhabit the mine.
C: Suggest the Tower as a place to live.
D: There is that abandoned village up north.
E: Suggest the Dwarves.
F: Murder them.

BELWAR!

I literally just re-read the entire Drizzt series, so...YOU BEAUTIFUL BASTARD, I READ THOSE BOOKS!
>>
>>41224542
A. Also, when you we get to the village, let's have a contsruction think tank. I want the finest minds of all our races thinking of how to make our lives safer.

Also I'm going to go for half an hour, when I get back we better not be ass deep in Drow I swear to god...

Belwar Dissengulp.
Before the Drizzt series became absolute Ass.
---------
>>41224619
Ass deep in Spiders. Spiders, Drow, Drider, all sorta shit could happen.
>>
>>41224542
A. We could also get a map of the Dark Deep so that way we can make sure the Drow don't dig up on us and invade us from the ground up.
>>
>>41224619
Agreeing with this, let's focus on building an actual civilization now.Get some agriculture up.
>>
>>41224542
A to the max

>> Whats our food situation right now?

If its good then A, I've been playing banished recently and I don't want to have a PSTD flashback of a starvation implosion.
>>
>>41224725
Our population has been steadily increasing, that's why we should really push agriculture.

As things start to go well, the Gnomes are brought to the village. They quickly aclimate stone from the river, bringing along their 'Wee Tools' as one of the villages called it and started to create a few boulder shaped houses. Much of the tribe offer to aid them but they wave it away, and give instead their word of thanks as they create a large circle of boulder homes they all seem to be able to fit inside...and dirt flying out of the top of a few of them.

After a while, the group of roughly fifty gnomes start to work quickly with the Halflings. Seemingly happy to help with the garden work and building a few things from metals they brought with them to assist in fishing.

Food is perfectly fine, as none of them are overly lazy. Everyone hunts, everyone scouts, everyone Fishes and works the garden.

A: Ask the gnomes about the Deep Dark.
B: Explore the Woods.
C: Go poke around the tunnel.
D: Go try to find something in the north.
E: Go explore the mountains.
>>
>>41224811
>A, we need to know what'd down there.
>>
>> D

We might as well learn a bit more about the surrounding area. See if there are additional food sources or resources we could use.

I would also suggest setting up a proper dock or something similar. I'd imagine the gnomes would know how to
>>
>>41224913
Seconding
>>
We should develop our agriculture. We have a few gardens, but now that we have enough people around, maybe we can think of something bigger? Let's talk with the halflings about it.
>>
>>41224984
I say we make the abandoned village the focal point of our new farming area.
>>
Actually folks, I'll be shutting down for the day as my next class is fast approaching. Lucky bastards could have had big trouble...but seems like you prevailed.

Cool, thanks bongo. When will you be on again?
>>
>>41224984
I would agree but we really don't have the skills or the tools required. We would also need a source of seeds. It would also sap us of manpower.
>>
>>41225054
Shout be this thursday, around Noon to one o'clock but there will be a few pauses due to a few things in my schedule. Twenty minutes max.
Hope you folks had fun.
