I am Maria of House Antioch and, right now, wondering about a very strange offer. For some reason my friend - cause that's what she is - has offered to do my hair and I really have no idea how to deal with that. Especially because she'd like me to do the same and I doubt I can do it.

But I also don't want to be in her guilt even more if she does that. What to do what to do. Oh, of course. The idea suddenly seems so obvious. So clear I can almost touch it if I just stick out my head far enough.

I'll just have to return the favor. Ma taught me how to take care of her Pa's hair often enough and after practice some of the other students had to get themselves fixed up too so it's not exactly like I'm completely new to this. Still, it's not like I've ever taken care of a princess, Pa's nicknames for Ma aside.

"Alright!!" Steady and sure. Not too eager but also happy enough to let her know I mean it.

"Are you certain, Lady Maria?" What, did she think I would refuse? Well, I *did* think about it just now. Does that mean she can read my mind? Hmm, probably not, but the idea is a little worrying really.

I just nod and let her direct me into a position facing away from her. Eep, blind spots are scary. Like, in general and especially now. Not that I don't trust her or anything but still, not knowing what's going on behind me is a little upsetting.

A girl smiles at Another and its most trusted.

"Yes, Senra. We are ready". Things are good. A girl remembers something, and with a small sigh I take Sora's hand, Thalia safely taking her other. I. Her. Such interesting words.

Time ended up stretching like a rubber in the end. Whatever Eriadne did completely made me forget where I was. When her turn came I was little more than a gooey puddle and I'm SURE I shivered pretty badly moving to get her hair into place. Ggh, I've dealt with being shot at better than that. Still, her hair's not in worse shape than before. I hope.

I can still feel myself tingle all over, the memory of Eriadne's touch fresh on my skin. Really, I think we should do that again. It's nice, if a little improper. Right, that's really not how it's supposed to work. If I ask for it again she will think me greedy and if I ask to do it for her she will think I'm expecting something in return.

Aaah, this is complicated but even I know that you can't just ask a girl for something without her wondering what your motive behind it is. So bothersome, but I guess that's how it works? Hmm, right.

"Ey, she's breddy good, eh? From where I was lookin' ya seemed to have a way cozy time~" Liliana catches up to my place a little ahead of the group, those orange eyes - I SWEAR she has hearts in them - looking up at me with that strange mix of relaxed mischief and distracted intensity.

It's *still* hard to really pay attention to those eyes without all kinds of odd word combinations to just kind of pop into my head. That girl just has a way of being *there* that feels good in a way that just sort of doesn't feel good at all. Whiiiich I guess makes no sense, but very little does these days.

"Yes. I mean... no? I mean, yes, she's very good!" Right, WORDS, words are really not my friends at all. Liliana nods, as if whatever I said was somehow the wisest thing she heard all day.

"You trust eh, eh?" I blink, and she just widens those eyes, one eyebrow raised. How do you even answer that? I nod.

Thankfully we're at our door just then which spares me any more of this strange girl's strange conversation. She's my friend, yes, but she's also a little much once she really gets going. Right, best to put that out of my mind. When did I start noticing clothes, anyway? Must be all those witches getting to me. She can wear whatever she likes. Well, almost whatrver she likes, but this isn't so bad. Foreigners are strange so who knows WHAT she could come up with. Seems like she changed her collar too match, too.

Though to be honest, the weapons the girl's carrying really *are* quite unusual, making me step closer in curiousity.

One has dull black gleaming edge curved engraved with runes I cannot decipher. Maybe from her come country. The other is just as ornate, brilliant silvery white inlaid in gold markings that seem like the same language as its, well, twin.

"Retribution n' Judgement". Sora grins, assuming something that looks like the Twin Saints Below The Temple Stance, or something very similar. I rub the scar on my left hand, thinking.

She has the right pose and yet.... well, Florencia is not really a very usual weapon either. Still, somehow the feeling I get from here is more that of a traveling show woman than fighter. On the surface at least. Below however? There's danger. Something that makes me hesitant to just think of her as another showy imposter with nothing underneath. Interesting, she seems to completely have changed the way she feels just from taking out those two blades.

"Well, dea-- Maria, Sora and I were just talking and while she wishes to simply, well, take in the sights, as it were, I would prefer if we had a more structured approach". Evangelyne's voice is... careful. Odd, why would she suddenly change her habits like that?

Alright, so the main character is a little girl who attends a boarding school. Like Harry Potter, right?

The twist here is that she actually isn't a little girl at all - at least not mentally - because she has the ability to transfer her soul over to another world, where she was once trapped for a hundred years. Also, when she goes to this world her soul forms armour around itself that takes the form of a robot. Pic related.

So basically a whole load of shit has happened and now we're trying to stop the Smilers (a death cult) from destroying the world, and are currently in a 6v6 fight with some of their best fighters.
Character shit doesn't matter much, just hop in and enjoy the combat! The MC's equipment is all listed on the pastebin at the top, and you can also find short summaries of each thread in the rest of the quest!

It's about storytelling anon. Knowing bits and pieces beforehand really doesn't make their reveal in-story very interesting. They're also mostly meaningless without story context, not in coherence or meaning but in impact and relevance. I mean, at this point there's little reason to care what Mara and her beau or Ma and Pa did or were like because they're barely characters in any meaningful sense of the word, since we've barely seen them in story context. There's nothing wrong with that at this early point in the story, but they don't become better or more fleshed out characters by telling us random facts about them in one or two sentences. They do by being organically developed through properly written prose, with all the care, context and characterization they need. Without that, the blurbs of information serve little purpose but as potential spoilers, bereft of any charm or appeal at all.

I can see both sides of the argument here, and while there's many a thing to be said about my success I neverthess /do/ wish to find some measure of balance between creating a huge meta and bogging down the quest in exposition.

AToW was a project that surprised me in how much I ended up liking it, and it is therefore at times hard to properly gauge what does or does not make sense to use in a given situation.

In addition there are other issues such as my own speed to contend with, all of which work together to produce a, I must admit, far-below-optimal environment for the story to flourish.

What I ask of you, besides patience with me at achieving the aforementioned balance, is to lay aside your differences if at all possible. I hear you both, and I promise to give it my all to make the best of the current and future situations.

To be honest, this feels kind of good. To be trusted. To know that others depend on you. I think about the question briefly while going through my bundle. The long slim case calls out to me, but I fight the urge to look at what's within. There are times when you need to flaunt your power, but this is certainly not one of those times.

Instead I take out a linen bundle, spreading the contents out and looking at them sceptically. Four throwing knives, a hunting knife, one push dagger and a long thin blade they call a "Needle" or stiletto in whatever place it came from. To be honest I was never sure about this weapon. Being a gift by the Trader Lamere I havn't really had a lot of 'proper' training with it, but what the thieves and cut throats showed me is enough to know that this is a blade only useful for one thing. Taking life from the shadows.

I shudder, and hastily wrap the Needle back into the blanket. I hope I'll never have to use this. A gun might be nice too, but my aim with those things was always terrible and the huge, uh, calibres, that was the name, most use are still tough to handle.
