Relax. Just...just relax, you tell yourself, repeating it over and over in your mind like a mantra.

It's okay. You're okay.

Exerting every ounce of will left in your body not to visibly react to the presence of the person in front of you.

You did it before. You managed to keep it together the first time you saw her again.

It doesn't matter that you were with Kyoko and disguised then, it still counts. You can do this.

You can talk to the person you threw to the wolves without turning into a wreck.

"Hello?" The brown-haired idol tries again, seemingly slightly put off by your immediate lack of response. "I apologize if I'm interrupting anything, but I really just need directions. As soon as I get them I can be out of your hair, and--"

You shake your head, finally managing to breathe again. "I...it's alright. Sorry. It's...it's been quite the busy morning." You put on an apologetic smile that you also hoped looked tired, or at the very least fatigued - which you actually are besides everything else, so you didn't need to fake that too hard.

Iori's smile immediately turns apologetic as well, the sympathy in her eyes genuine enough to make your insides clench in and twist up. "Oh, I see. Well, I can definitely emphatize, I've had those kinhjtd of mornings before." She shakes her head, a sigh leaving soft lips tastefully covered in a rather conservative shade of lipstick, in contrast to your own dry ones that you didn't even have time to smear lipgloss over. "A hectic pace right off the bat, of meetings and recordings and guest appearances. It's all you could do not to collapse facefirst into your food during lunch!"

You nod, politely giggling at the idol's slightly awkward attempt at humor. Good, good. Conversation is good. Don't give her any time to look at you too closely. You're just a stranger, another forgettable employee inside the office building she let herself into. ...Add to that, how the heck did she get here, anyway? Surely someone should've at least kept her at the lobby downstairs, or at the very least escorted her around...?

No time to think about now, as the conversation turns back again to your sempai. The idol seems to be really eager to see her again, and it's here that you smile apologetically at her once more when you're quizzed about her location again.

"I'm....I'm really sorry, but I really can't help you. Chiaki Matsuda-san is indisposed at the moment, and we've been left specific instructions that she isn't to be disturbed."

That...well, that makes your sempai sound cold, but it's not like Chiaki's going to win Miss Congeniality anytime soon. That said, she's been getting better at the whole 'treat other people like human beings' thing - but that's neither here nor there. She's in no shape to receive any guests, and that should be justification enough. You don't need to feel guilty for that - you have enough on your plate already.

But while it should have been enough for any prospective visitor to accept, Iori seems to have other plans.

"That's...well, no, I apologize, but that's not good enough." She shakes her head. "Chiaki-san and I have worked together in the past, and I know how she can be a bit...standoffish about certain things, but I know she'll be glad to receive me today."

Iori nods to herself, as if making up her mind to stay the course. "I need to talk to her about something, and it's really quite urgent, so please--"

And it's there that you see it. A nervous tic, only recently acquired, the single flaw in her confident body language.

Her hands coming together at her front, thumb and forefinger of the right hand twisting what looks like a silver ring on her left middle finger. A subtle, tasteful little thing with a glowing garnet jewel set into the metal.

...That's...no. She couldn't have...

How do you respond?

Iori has met Sayaka before, hasn't she? It might be best to palm her off on someone else.
>>
>>41176211
Telling her the truth is OUT OF THE F'N QUESTION.

Even if she contracted, she's still a newb MG with no involvement and the more people that know a secret, the harder it is to keep.

Not to mention that we have no idea what Officio she might be a part of. Didn't QB promise to Chiaki to not contract Iori? Midori doesn't know this, but she would know that he has something of a policy about people that actually have proper lives from what previous threads showed...

So that being said...

>[X]Ask the acting Warmaster for help. Sayaka should be able to handle this.

We have bigger worries, like figuring out how to steal a DE from a stupid vault and sneaking it to Chiaki...

Bad answer. That will put Iori in a lot of stress and she will be more adamant to visit Chiaki
>>
Finally managed to catch a thread after the hiatus. I was starting to get terrible meguca withdrawl symptoms.
>>
>>41176462
damn I'm to late for the first votes
>>
So Iori became meguca. We could have stopped this.

I bet she's a Callidus.
>>
If Iori has contracted then she has no grounds to make demands of us, she's a newbie, we're a teacher, we tell her what to do, not the other way around.
>>
>>41176655
She did not.
>>
>>41176661

Instructor and aide to the warmaster, along with Kyoko. So she's very outranked.
>>
In the last thread, what happens with Enishi at the end? Is she a virgin and suffers for it, is she a virgin but in reality her suffering is a facade, or she isnĀ“t a virgin and fake her virginity and suffering?
Please anons, help me understand
>>
>>41176655
It's not certain yet if she actually became a meguca or not. The ring might be a fake, modeled after the real things as a show of support and whatnot...

Still... as a Callidus, wouldn't Midori be able to check if another girl is a meguca or not?

As for Iori's possible rank... that could depend... Her attitude would leave her as a good Eversor, though her admiration of Chiaki might lead to her becoming a Vindicare... it depends on the Wish as well...

...

...

I just realized something...

Decu, in an earlier thread, said that we'd have the opportunity to recruit a new Cullexus...

He didn't mean Iori, did he?
>>
>>41176709
Personaly I think she's a "virgin" because she's only taken it up the butt.
>>
>>41176575
Then don't turn her away.

Use her to our advantage somehow. Tell her just enough that you don't give away anything crucial, say all of this is strictly on a need-to-know basis, and insist that you have a plan to save her. Ask for her cooperation and tell her that, if all goes well, as Warmaster's aide, you guarantee that she can talk to her.

Probably even stupider, but she's not going to be dissuaded. Best we can hope for is distracted or redirected.
>>
From ask.fm:

>Are incubators still invisible to normies in MGNQ like in the anime? Or is it different in this timeline somehow?

Yeah, they're invisible to normies, except for the ones they choose to be visible to. Those that have massive Meguca potential can see him just fine, though.

>"Those that have massive Meguca potential can see him just fine, though."// After Kirika retirement, Kyuubey admitted that Iori could see him. OH-OH...

"Hello, police? I can see talking cats. ...Yes, I'll hold."
>>
>>41176737
That's not really a good idea. Even if she's contracted, she's still a complete newb, not to mention that we have no idea what she can or can't do, not to mention that finding out would waste precious time.

Sending her to get taken care of by other people helps us by having her act as distraction while we do our job.

Also, I'm pretty sure Midori would want to keep away from Iori. There's always a chance that she might be recognized, and if Iori became a meguca, that would be even worse than normal considering the effects of negative emotions on the Soul Gem and stuff.
>>
>>41176737
What!? Entering Iori in our plan? Are you crazy? That is calling for disaster. We need to keep her out of this. We can even pull rank. But in no way is a good idea telling her whatĀ“s happening
>>
>>41176712
She might have married.

Or this isn't Iori at all.
>>
>>41176712

Well, Iori's unlikable enough to be a Cullexus
>>
Honestly, a part of me wants to see Midorin try to explain who she is to Iori.
"So, funny story, remember that magical girl who disguised herself as your dead best friend, had sex with you, then let a party of rapist fanboys in to your hotel room? Yeah, that was me."
>>
>>41176813
>She might have married.

Well, she might have ended up engaged to that Garcia kid, that's always a possibility.
>>
>>41176814
Shouldn't she be in a suit then? I thought current procedures required Culexuses to get suited up shortly after they contracted?
>>
>>41176661
>>41176700
But the truck has a personal (and difficult) connection to the Warmaster and wouldn't take "no" for an answer, as she just demonstrated. Hell, considering what she knows of Chiaki, she's expecting to be allowed an audience at least. And Chiaki would probably have given her one.

>>41176709
You need to either read more or get some social skills. Hell, probably both. It's not that hard, you know.
But seeing as you have completely no experience with conversations, and lack general knowledge to read between the lines within a context (and catch the giant fucking hint at the end of it), I'll throw you a bone:

Enishi is a virgin and she's reduced to tears everytime she's reminded of this.
She tries to hide this but fails.
She is so desperate for a boyfriend that everyone can tell.
When Midori asked her whether the "desperate virgin thing was an act" after an otherwise respectable talk, it was like a slap in the face for Enishi. She put on her pokerface and lied through her teeth. Midori THEN tells her to "tone it down a few notches" because it's not a very good act.

Decu punctuates Enishi's misery by writing that she fails to hold back a sob as Midori leaves the classroom.

That last bit should tell you enough.
>>
>>41176843
didn't they meet like 3 weeks ago?
>>
>>41176844
Decu never defined how long a Culexus has before they have to suit up. Also, Midori's already feeling nervous enough around Iori that she wouldn't notice the usual effects unless she's particularly susceptible to them like Sayaka is.
>>
>>41176737
Still a bad idea. The chances of her blabbing part of the plan to QB (or to someone who would tell him, or just near a camera), either out of ignorance of the gravitas of the situation, or outright malice against Midori, or just not getting her way, is high.
>>
>>41176841
They did not have sex.
>>
>>41176887
I might be remembering it wrong, but I think Iori and "Yayoi" were doing lewd things, weren't they?
>>
>>41176712
>iori as a Culexus

oh man that would be hilarious
>>
>>41176575
Midori could use her Callidus powers and put her in a dream, then call for her to be picked up and escorted somewhere else.
>>
>>41176867
Well, thanks for your honest and very good answer, even if you lack manners or education. While I learn social skills and read more, you can learn those two things
>>
>>41176911
that was midoris illusion, iori probably thinks it was real though
>>
>>41176911

That's the way Chiaki understood the illusion, but we asked Midori and she was pretty adamant that they did not have sex, was really offended that Chiaki even thought they had, and stormed off angrily.

Was back during the Siberia arc and was the first time we had an argument with Midori.
>>
>>41176918
Especially if she tried to keep up her idol career.
>>
>>41176872
Even after I recently went through the entire archives from top to bottom, I can't say how long it's actually been since those two met.

I think it's more than 3 weeks though. More like a month and a half I think. Whether that would be enough or not depends on a lot of factor. The kid was definitely infatuated enough, on one hand, and on the other, people on the rebound can make some weird decisions at times, and Iori was definitely on the rebound.
>>
>>41176872
No. Decu made time jumps in the thread, so technically Iori and Garcia met months ago
>>
>>41176935
Oh yeah, that's right. I prefered the way I remembered it though.
>>
>>41176937

She might make a good M-Idol.
>>
>>41176872

Two weeks was from start to end of Siberia. After that the timeline gets incredibly screwy with Decu delays and no clear references to patime. It's probably been at least two months or more since the quest started.
>>
>>41176960
Don't try to put best MGNQ idol out of a job.
>>
>>41176979
I didn't know Ruri was an M-Idol.
>>
You know, now that I think about it... there would be ONE way we could use Iori to help in this situation, but it would be dickish in the extreme, and it works only if she didn't contract already and only if she AND QB are willing to agree.

She could use her Wish to help Chiaki. Even in MGNQ, Wishes should be serious business, and with what we learned from Manuke earlier, we could probably come up with a Wish that could help Chiaki at least to an extent...

Still, that would be a Wish that's not made for one's self, and with unknown effects... Hell knows what kind of MG would result from something like that, or how long she'd last.
>>
>>41176939
as far as i can tell
-garcia and iori met on the kilgore mission
-we left for siberia the morning after
-we were in siberia for 2 weeks (it says so in the thread were we are on the flight back to mitikahara)
-ruri mission + date with midori + smash and grab was all in the same week
- allying with wendy and everything since then should have taken place in less than a week

so 4-5 weeks ?
>>
>>41177016
She isn't, but if you ask the right way she'll make ghost noises while you put yourself in her box.
>>
>>41177051
That probably wonĀ“t work:
1- We donĀ“t know what power5s Iori will have and how they will affect Chiaki
2- I doubt Iori wants to contract, seeing that she has witness the horrible world of Megucas
3- Chiaki is not going to be pleased with Iori contracting
4- I doubt Kyuubey is going to contract a famous idol (too many derivated problems)
>>
>>41176929
My manners and education are fine, I just don't see a reason to apply the former after someone (could have been you, probably was you) asked the same thing in the previous thread and got a similar breakdown there.

I'm not the one who had a simple play on context and character knowledge fly way past their fucking head.

I haven't see this level of autism in the thread since that spanish namefag waltzed in with a First Warmaster theory he worked on for three weeks while he never even heard of Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon is to the Magical Girl anime genre what Superman is to comic books, Decu's habit of pushing cameos and character expys everywhere made an Usagi expy/cameo as Warmaster of The First Officio an ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE. How the fuck does anyone stay oblivious about Sailor Moon while managing to find Madoka Magica, anyway?

Jesus, I feel sick just having 'sperged out like this.

>>
>>41177118
Hence why I mentioned that Iori and QB would need to agree, which is unlikely. Iori's power level and resulting powers would be irrelevant. The Wish itself would be what would matter.

We know that Chiaki's fragmented inside her head again, so a Wish to strengthen the Chiaki we know and love would help her no matter how minor that boost is.

Also, screw this anon crap...
>>
>>41177051
>Still, that would be a Wish that's not made for one's self, and with unknown effects
IIRC, an entirely selfless wish results in a Culexus.

>>
>>41177176

>>
>>41177216
In this case, Iori wish to help Chiaki wouldnĀ“t be selfless. Probably, Iori wants to help Chiaki with the hope that she will end being her lover or something like that.
Remeber what happened to Sayaka in the PMMM series? Something similar can happen in this case
>>
>>41177252

Urgh. Looks like she's not going to give up that easily no matter what you say - barring you telling her everything, that is. You're familiar with her type - the tough customer who knows what they want and will fight to get it, even if it's bordering on the unreasonable. She's being polite about it for now, and you're thankful for that, but you also know that it's only a matter of time before that changes for the worse.

No doubt she wouldn't be too shy to point out any misdirection or delaying tactics either - Iori's young, but she's definitely not the naive type. If anything, the idol feels like she's been through a lot for her age, an old hand at cutting through red tape, in the same way your sempai is in ending fights quickly with a gun in her hand.

Telling her the truth, of course, is out of the question. So you pick what you think is the safest option right now. ...It's probably also the laziest and the most inconsiderate, but you have to make do with what you have.

"...Alright, then." You force yourself to smile again. "I'll give my direct superior a call and see what we can do. Please excuse me." You pull out your smartphone from your jacket pocket and make to dial, when you realize with a cold start the mistake you nearly made - and correct it immediately. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name, Miss...?"

Iori blinks at you in frank surprise, momentarily stunned before managing to rally with a smile. "I...um, yes, of course. Minase Iori, formerly of 765 Productions, currently with 2020 Productions." Probably wasn't used to strangers not knowing her name, what with her being a celebrity and everything.

"Minase-san." You repeat her last name with a smile, before nodding. "Alright. Let me just make that call." And with that, you turn away and dial Sayaka's number. Holding up the device to your ear at the same time that you wipe your brow free of the cold sweat that had been breaking out there.

Come on, come on, you silently plead as the phone on the other end rings twice, three times, then four. You heave a sigh of relief as Sayaka picks up on the fifth, cursing and grumbling all the while.

"Jesus Christ, are you serious? ANOTHER pile of paperwork I need to fucking handle? No way. No fucking way. I refuse to believe Murderface dealt with all this and didn't put a bullet through her brain the first day. Fuck." A rustle of paper, and the blue-haired Eversor's voice finally comes on much more clearly, as if she'd just picked the phone off the table just now. "...Miki here. Sorry about that, Midori. This is just--FUCK."

N-no, no, it's okay, you tell her. You've heard enough from your sempai too, about being buried under so much paperwork that death looked more like a release than a punishment with each pile she put away.

"It's just...there's so fucking much. And with Mami somewhere up in the fucking Moon, I'm handling EVERYTHING. Just...fuck." Sayaka sighs the expletive instead of shouting it this time, the sound of a slowly-eroding sanity clear in her voice. "Anyway. What are you calling for?"

A prickling at the back of your neck tells you the last thing you want to hear: Minase Iori is actually, actively listening to you right now.

How do you tell Sayaka about the situation?

I'm hoping we can avoid that as well. After all, breaking her out might just lead to that vision Chiaki dreamed of, and while Midori doesn't necessarily know about it, Wendy DOES and she should have been smart enough to realize where things might end up going.

The fact that she still advocated a break out lowers my opinion of her a bit...

Forgive me, Decu.

>>41177169
I had a bad week. First our office department finds out our cunt of a manager hid the fact that he's dyslexic ever snce he came to work here and never bothered reading ANYTHING handed to him. This explains years of disgusting behaviour that finally came to a head in front of the CEO.

Then just today, I had to deal with the vapid GRRL GAMER girlfriend of my buddy who matched the prevalent stereotype SO UNBELIEVABLY WELL she actually fucking said, verbatim, "I'm such a nerd" because she caught an extremely simple Legend of Zelda joke. While her boyfriend's underlying joke about inventory management in RPGs went right past her.
I felt like I was in some sitcom that tried to be the new The Big Bang Theory. That post and the one in the last thread, and the identical one in this thread, was like living that nightmare all over again.

>>41177236
Knowing who Superman is doesn't make you a comic book nerd. Likewise, knowing Sailor Moon doesn't make me a "Sailor Moon nazi", and neither does knowing about Decu's statement in his ask.fm, about Usagi's future appearance, make me one.

You decide to be direct about it, even with Iori listening to you. You figure that she'll appreciate it instead of you talking around her. Sayaka also sounds like she's way past that kind of bullshit, too, and would probably prefer that you give the bad news to her straight rather than beating around the bush about it.

"Minase Iori-san is here," You tell her. "She's looking for semp--er, Chiaki-san, and she's not going to take no for an answer."

A pause, and then a murmured curse. "Minase Iori? ...Fuck. That's, that's just perfect, isn't it." You hear Sayaka sigh through clenched teeth, before the rustling of paper overtakes everything else. A moment later and you hear her speak again. "Alright, alright, I think...I think I know what to do. Can you, uh, can you keep her busy for me for a couple of minutes? I just need to finish this pile, and then I'll take her off your hands myself."

"Ah." is the only reply you can manage at this moment. Keep...keep her busy? Just...how do you even do that? Give her a guided tour or something? That's not even going to help--

"I know, I know. I know what's going on, I know your history with her, and I know this is the last thing you need. But just..." Sayaka sighs again, frustration more than evident in that tense exhalation, before she continues. "...Just do this for me, alright? Find some way to keep her waiting for a while until I can get out of here." A pause. "Hey, why not have her visit Kyoko? I remember the both of them hitting it off, that'd occupy her long enough for me to break out of here and get to her. That way you can tell me how she's doing too."

But...but what if Iori asks about your sempai? You flirt with the idol overhearing this, but you don't care. Not right now, at least.

[1/2]
>>
>>41178508
>People have been doing that for years

>>
>>41178509

What's the official answer that you can give to that question? You can't keep dodging Iori's questions forever. You doubt you'd be able to dodge the first one, at that.

"Just tell her as much as you can without telling her everything." Sayaka answers a moment later. "Something about Murderface needing to be quarantined because of a previous mission. If she asks for more details, tell her it's classified. If she asks to be taken to Murderface, refuse, and say that it's off-limits to non-employees. Just keep telling her that she's in no particular danger at the moment, but she does need to stay in isolation for a while. I'll fill in the rest when I get to her."

Urgh. And you were hoping to focus on getting Chiaki out of there first before anything else. Now it looks like you need to play babysitter for a while, first.

How do you respond?

This avoids suspicion from Sayaka, and having her owe us a favor might actually come in handy later down the line, even if it's for something as small as buying enough time to get her to listen to an explanation or something...

Plus, it's only a few minutes, it's not a huge delay and Midori got out of Callidus class a LOT sooner than what was expected, so if anything, we're ahead of schedule.

I think that, when we arrive at the infirmary, we need to use an illusion to quickly inform Kyouko that she canĀ“t says anything about ChiakiĀ“s condition or the mission details. Also, it would be wise to alter our features with illusion magic (like different eyes color, bigger nose, smaller mouth, things like that) to be able to justify that "maybe we look like that girl who helped the rapist, but we are not her"

1) Kyouko's not that dumb... she knows that the Akashic realm is classified to hell and back, along with Chiaki's condition.

2) Iori already saw Midori, if her features change, Iori would wonder why it happened, and since she's aware of magic, she won't just think that she saw things. Trying something like that now would just draw attention to the fact that there's something to hide in the first place.
>>
>>41179660
Unfortunately, it's probably too late to alter our features without her noticing, and Kyouko isn't that stupid.

Also more Reimu pits, just because.
>>
>>41179717
>>41179746
Well, I was playing with the option that maybe Iori didnĀ“t look long enough, but yeah, you are probably right. I suppose that the fact that she hasnĀ“t lost her shit yet when looking at us is a good signal. Maybe this can work...maybe............ bah, Who am I kidding? Iori is going to recognise us at the worst possible moment. You will see
>>
>>41179763
It depends on what happens, and how much time Midori will actually spend around her. Also, odds are that she's more likely to recognize Midori from NECO's little snap-shot of her kiss with Chiaki on their date that one time rather than from the time of the rape.

Midori might stand out as the only other girl present there, but odds are that Iori's mind was much more focused on the guys that nearly raped her before getting Vindicare makeovers.

So yeah, if it happens, I expect that Iori will first recognize Midori as Chiaki's girlfriend rather than that girl that got her kneecaps shot out way back when.
>>

[X]Accept. You'll do it, but she'll owe you a favor for this.

We need the DE, not the Muramasa... That said, why would Iori even be there at that point? The op will likely take place at night when there's the lowest amount of people to run into by accident, so there should be little reason for Iori's presence when that shit goes down.
>>
>>41179952
Why I have the feeling that, by an incredible amount of stupid coincidences and circumstances, Iori is going to end wrapped up in the plan...
>>
>>41179952
I could swear Decu said Chiaki needs her sword. Seems I misread.

>>
>>41179989

>>
>>41179989
It said "the swrod that was chosen for her". A lot of anons think that sword is not literal, but a reference to a weapon in general. The weapon that she was chosen to carry was the DE
>>
>>41179979
That can only happen if she's a meguca. Idol or not, Chiaki's friend or not, she'd be kicked out of the Officio after dark.

I don't think Decu would force her into the plan for no good reason, so odds are that unless our decisions fuck things up somehow, then for the time being, she'll only be a minor distraction and a source of stress for Midori.

Bad idea me thinks. Wendy was confirmed as a Chosen by Manuke, Midori as a Vessel, which doesn't even count the fact that Midori's Soul Gem is connected to Chiaki's.

Fucking with the Golden Weapons would be a bad idea. So getting in, getting what's needed, then getting the fuck out is most likely the best course of action.

Plus, if she really needs them, Chiaki's shield will probably cough them up later once she's recovered.

...Alright. Alright, fine. You'll do it. But she'll...she'll owe you a favor for this. It's only fair.

Sayaka is quiet for what seems like the longest time. When she finally speaks, her voice is tight, guarded. "I...I wasn't aware that carrying out a direct order from an acting Warmaster necessitates the barter of favors, Hanegawa."

You remain silent here, despite the fact that the menace in Sayaka's voice is enough to turn your legs into jelly and your grip on your phone to turn into a white-knuckled death hold. A few moments later and your patience is rewarded with another sigh, and the Eversor's resigned capitulation. "But okay. That's...I know you have other stuff going on, so...sure. A favor. You got it. Just...just don't call it in for anything stupid, alright?"

No guarantees, but you'll see what you can do, you reply as casually as you can despite the tidal wave of elation washing over you. This...you actually managed to twist Sayaka's arm enough to grant you a favor you can call in for virtually anything. You don't know what it'll be for right now, but you know it's going to be indispensable when it comes to help your sempai.

Even with shit being continuously sent your way, you still know how to turn it into a positive. Granted, you did twist Sayaka's arm into it, and you'll probably pay for it in the long run, but...still. Negative into positives. Bad into good. Just like how Miracle Midori would.

"So, where is Chiaki-san, then?" Iori asks as you put away your phone and turn back to face her. While she's still being polite.about things, you do see that your phone conversation had tried her patience a bit, making the smiling idol somewhat prickly.

"Are you going to take me to her now, or are you going to lead me around in circles hoping to get me discouraged? Because if it's the latter, then with all due respect, don't. I despise being lied to, more than I despite needlessly wasting time."

The idol makes to cross her arms over her chest, as if to fully push home her current state of frustration in the matter - until her eyes flick over to the front of your jacket, stopping her cold. Her arms suddenly dropping to her sides instead.

...Weird. Anyway, you decide to be honest here - or at least, as honest as you can be under the circumstances. "No, I can't take you to Chiaki-san right now, Minase-san." She frowns here, and makes to open her mouth to protest, when you hold up a hand. "Not right now. But my direct superior has told me to take you to see someone else first. After that, she'll come around to take you where you need to be, personally."

The idol blinks at this. "Someone else? But..." She narrows her eyes here. "Look, I told you. If you're just trying to stall for time here, it's not going to work, and--"

You nod, smiling. "It IS stalling for time, Minase-san, but only for until my direct superior can get here. She'll be the one to attend to you in regards to Chiaki-san. But before that, I'm instructed to take you to someone else, first."

"..." Iori's frown deepens into something close to a scowl. "At least you're being honest about it, but why do we need to wait for your direct superior? Cant' you just lead me to Chiaki-san on your own? Or if you really can't, then just tell me where she is and I'll find my way around, myself."

How do you respond?

[]Tell the truth. Chiaki-san is quarantined and seeing her requires the highest clearance, clearance only your direct superior has.
[]Conceal the truth for now. It's classified, you're not at liberty to discuss such matters yourself. Your direct superior will do so when she arrives.

Because if we say she's quarantined, Iori will just ask why. She sounds smart enough to note that quarantined doesn't mean that we can't talk about the reason behind said quarantine, even if only people high up the food chain are authorized to visit.

If we say it's classified, then we can't talk about it, so she can just shove her questions. Plus, it could be Warmaster shit, Iori knows that Chiaki's the Warmaster, so she can assume that Chiaki will get caught in stuff that other girls can't talk about.

Iori can still ask stuff like if she's hurt, or sick, or whatnot. Basically, there are still loopholes she can try to exploit. Not to mention that this lets her know that Chiaki is not alright, making her worry, and possibly making her even more persistent.

Not talking about it will only leave her with uncertainty. For all she knows, the 'classified reason' could even be a super-top-secret meeting, or that Chiaki's on a secret assignment and she can't be visited period but our direct superior can contact her if it's warranted or something.

"Lorry" is a (I believe British) slang term meaning "truck". Meanwhile, a common way to make fun of Iori is to pretend that the first letter in her name is a lower case L rather than an upper case I, therefore making her name Lori. And then...

Midori caught Iori fiddling with a ring that looks suspiciously like a soul gem ring. It's entirely possible a contract has already happened.

I do remember Chiaki telling her explicitly to avoid the fuck out of mutant cats, though, and that being a Magical Girl is a terrible fucking life. Iori's got a couple of psychological cracks, but we've had no evidence that she holds Chiaki's advice in anything but the highest regard.

My working guess is that she's thinking about it regardless, probably because an Incubator has approached her, and is wearing that ring because she's seen something similar in MG media, and wants to use Chiaki as her guidance councilor on the subject.

Remember, Kyuubey was surprised and put off by the fact that Iori could see him without him wanting to. I doubt that's gone unnoticed by other Incubators. Jyuubey, probably? As a way to twist the knife on Chiaki for dickbutt?

You decide to conceal the truth from Iori for now. Somehow, you have the feeling that telling her the truncated version of your sempai's fate would only serve to incense her insistence to see Chiaki to the point of obnoxiousness.

Worst case scenario would be Iori suddenly making a scene, before running off to try and find Chiaki herself. This would then result in the idol seeing something she wasn't supposed to be seeing, and...well, you just don't want to have to tell your sempai that one of her idol friends got deemed a security risk while she was indisposed, and was summarily taken care of. Probably with her brains being splattered all over the wall, or something.

So no. You don't tell her anything, only that the answer to her question is classified, and that you're not at liberty to discuss such matters yourself. Your direct superior will do so when she finally arrives.

"..." For the briefest of moments, you feel tension rising inside the idol, her eyes flashing underneath her furrowed brow - but it dies as soon as it flares up, leaving you with a sudden and strange sensation of being empty. If Iori noticed this, she doesn't show it, instead heaving a heavy, bereaved sigh. "Fine. I'll concede for now, and play along. If you say it's classified, then I can't force you to tell me. The last thing I want is to get someone in trouble for simply doing their job."

...Well. She's...being really understanding about this.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm completely annoyed that that term - 'classified' - has followed me all the way over from my new production agency." Iori explains, fingers hooking in midair to emphasize the quotation marks. "But I know it's there for a reason, and not used at all frivolously. This seems to be the same case here, but instead of sales figures, merchandising ideas and song choreography, it's...well, this." She shrugs.

In light of this fact, I suggest that we seriously consider the cuckold option. The best case scenario here is that Iori loses interest in Chiaki. Maybe we could coordinate with Kyouko over the phone to suggest to Iori that Chiaki's moved on.
>>
>>41181220

"Can I just ask one question about Chiaki-san, though? Just one? Just to tide me over until your superior gets here?"

You already said you can't talk about things, you say, your own frustration beginning to peak as well. Not even a minute ago--

"Nothing too specific." Iori's face takes on a pleading look - the sort of look that you've drawn Miracle Midori to flash at Murder Mayumi when she wanted that last slice of cake, or in the last draft you finished, a good-night kiss. It almost works. "Just...something to calm my nerves while we visit this...whoever you're supposed to take me to."

Guh...she's nothing but persistent, you'll give her that. You wonder if that look ever worked with your sempai, or if she was a complete pushover when the idol was concerned.

How do you respond?

[]Just one question, that's it. And you reserve the right not to answer if it's too specific.
[]No questions, and that's final. She can wait until your direct superior arrives.
>>
>>41181175
Her girlfriend was dead for a long time, she was almost raped, Chiaki was inconsiderate before she dumped her, she's forced to get involved with a project she doesn't like, she's forced to take orders from a mega-prima donna who is more famous than she is, and Chiaki hasn't even spoken with her in a long time. She's been pushed into a corner, anon, and if she was given the chance to unfuck her life, I'm pretty sure she'd take it, regardless of the consequences.

Make a contract with me and take revenge on the girl who tried to force you and the false friend who betrayed you!"
Bwahahahaha, master evil plan!
>>
>>41181175
I actually did consider this. However, I'm hoping that between the fact that Iori was warned rather colorfully by Chiaki about mutant cats and MG life, along with the fact that she KNOWS that MGs from different Officios get into fights, that she wouldn't contract with an Incubator from a different Officio.

After all, she'd have to realize that if she did that, there's a chance she might end up on a mission where she'd be on the wrong side of Chiaki, thus placing her friend in a very bad situation.

She CAN'T be THAT stupid can she?

Chiaki and her made up during the Ruri mission, and agreed to be friends. Even Iori herself realized that she was really exceedingly lonely, so friends was, in her words, 'all she really wanted'.

That said, the switch in production companies is new information and suggests something else happened. She may be in a corner regardless, hence why she wants to call on Chiaki so personally.

>>41181283
I don't think she is. Iori's pretty sharp, she's mainly screwed up in the head due to the combination of her work and her loneliness. I don't think that Chiaki ever explained the entire Officio system to her, though, so she might not 'get' that different mutant cats run different Officios, and blah blah you can finish that logical line of thought.

She's got a lot of reasons to be at least sniffing things out, and not a lot of reasons, besides Chiaki's word, to be avoiding it. But Chiaki's both her crush and her most unbiased subject matter expert so I still think it's most probable she's at QB Heavy for advice first and foremost.

We can dance around Iori all we want once Chiaki's back at the helm lol. Why don't people get this? The sooner we work around all the obstacles and get Chiaki fixed, the sooner we can play our favorite gun totting MG murder-hobo.

Letting Iori ask a question can result in more developments, which can slow things down even more.

So shutting her down and moving forward would be for the best, that's my opinion at least.

I know its probably inconsequential but what would Oriko be classified as if she ever became a Magical Girl and went to work for one of the ordos ?

Would she be classified as a Culexus or something else altogether ?

And for that matter what was Ahriman's classification anyway ?

For all we know, one or both of them even used Formula H, or did more with the Soul Gems than just licking...

The only thing that ever got into an official post by decu was that Midori did 'that thing with the tongue', and that's about it.

So it's all up to everyone's imagination.
>>
>>41181907

Ahriman was probably classified as "Vindicare" due to her being a long-range shooty type, even if it was with magic instead of bullets, arrows, or magical bullets/arrows.

Oriko's rank would depend on her Wish, but Culexus is very, very unlikely with her personality...

Kyuubey implied a couple of times when talking to Chiaki and Kyoko about the contracting process that he's never really sure what class a girl is going to be when he contracts them, since their wish affects it.

Malal echoed it when she was giving one of her 'im dead lol' speeches I believe it was Midori. She said she was always a little precognizant, so she'd foreseen an Incubator coming to her and where the world was going, so when the Incubator showed up, she 'knew [her] wish, and how to make it'.

Just one question, then, you tell her. One question, that's all she gets.

Iori smiles again, for the first time ever since you started the call, her face brightening considerably. "Ah, so, then--"

And you reserve the right not to answer it if you feel it's too specific.

The light in her eyes dim slightly. Just the slightest bit. "Well, I suppose I can work with that." You can see the frown from earlier trying to replace the brittle smile on her lips, and it's almost winning. "So, about the question--"

And she can ask it while you walk to where you're supposed to be taking her first, you cut her off for the third time, before making for the direction of the sick bay. Where Kyoko would be laid up and recovering.

"Alright. ALRIGHT. For goodness' sake, alright!" Iori snaps, stomping a heel-clad foot on the marble-tiled floor before stalking forward sulkily. "Yes, whatever you like! Just please answer my question, so I don't...I don't have to worry myself sick about her!"

You stop in your tracks and whirl around at this outburst. Freezing as you see the tears glistening in Iori's fury-narrowed eyes.

This...this isn't a social visit, is it? This isn't just a sudden need to visit Chiaki, it's something more?

The tearful idol nods. "...Lately, I've...I've been having dreams. Dreams about Chiaki-san. And usually I just..." She reaches up to dab carefully at her eyes with white silk napkin embroidered with her family seal. "I just write them off as nothing. But lately they've been following a trend, and they've been so real that sometimes I don't know if I'm actually awake, or still sleeping." She lets out a small, helpless giggle here, before wiping her eyes again.

Dreams. That's...not really all that good. It could just be stress, but...

You shake your head, and smile at her as comfortingly as you can. You understand, you tell her. She can ask her question now, and you'll answer as best you could.

"When I gwow up, I'm gonna mawwy Shiaki-shenshei!"

Iori smiles at this through her tears, wiping them away before twisting the ring around her finger once more. "Thank you. I...I'm sorry if I'm making a scene here, it's just, this has been on my mind a whole lot, and it just won't go away no matter what I do." She sniffs here, before blowing her nose delicately onto her napkin. "A-anyway, um. My question is....well, it's about our first meeting. Chiaki-san and I. She was hired by my agency to protect me from some...some undesirables."

You nod, feeling a sick, cold sensation worm its way through you guts. You silently gesture for her to continue.

"From...from what I remember, during that night, I was...I was nearly taken advantage of. The men who attacked me...they had a Magical Girl with her." She looks up at you, her face locked in a determined scowl despite the obvious fear in her eyes, the trepidation in her words. "I can't see her face, but I know it's her. And I keep dreaming of her. Night after night after night, ever since last week."

...And what happens during that dream? You prompt her, your own voice sounding as dry and as weak as it felt.

"...Every time, she kills Chiaki-san. She kills her with a knife through her heart, stabbing her from the back. And every single night, it looks more and more real that it doesn't feel like a dream anymore. It feels like a memory."

That's...

"But it's silly, right?" Iori looks up at you, smiling. "Chiaki-san...it takes so much more than that to even hurt her a little bit. Right?"

"A-and I'm pretty sure Chiaki killed that Magical Girl, right? Back...back in my hotel room. She shot her, I heard it. I saw it." Iori nods to herself. "My...my memory about the entire thing's a bit spotty, but I do remember that. Clear as day. But that's what I wanted to make sure, too. That's what I wanted to ask."

"Chiaki-san did kill that Magical Girl, didn't she? The one who nearly got me raped?"

Wait a moment. Why Iori ask about a traumatic experience like that to a total stranger in the Officio? ShouldnĀ“t she wait for Chiaki to discuss this in a more personal enviroment. You donĀ“t go around asking questions about the night were you nearly got raped

I'm changing my vote to something along these lines.

Seriously, think about it, Midori kissed Chiaki in front of Wendy, she'd totally do something like this! Plus, she KNOWS that Iori had and likely still has a think for Chiaki to an extent.

MAXIMUM CLINGINESS!
>>
>>41182658
It would require Midori to be somekind of brainwashed secret agent then considering we have access to her thoughts right here and she is obviously not planning to backstab Chiaki.

Unless ofcourse its somekind of metaphor. Like if for example allowing Chiaki to keep all her memories will mean she won't be Chiaki-Chiaki but more Homura-Chiaki or somesuch.

In that case, this could be a hint that taking the DEagle to Chiaki could have consequences, and the backstabbing by Midori will be totally accidental.
>>
>>41182686
Hahaha, Decu would never lie.
>>
>>41182693
She's clearly bullshitting to get a reaction out of Midori. She knows it's her.
Which is why saying "Yeah, she's right in front of you" is the best option. It'll knock her the fuck out.

No it wouldn't.
Midori, through the actions of the players, has to just fuck up completely, with the best of intentions.

It's been a long time since I've caught up to a thread before it ended, and not just because of the hiatus. And since Wendy's here too, I'll ask something I asked in a previous thread when the most authoritative person present was probably Attarou.

Decu mentioned Maerous needing to eat witch flesh or meguca flesh on his ask.fm. If Chiaki gets to that point, do you think Sayaka, with her crazy regeneration powers, would be willing to help out with that? Or is there some sort of magical bullshit that would prevent flesh eaten by a Maerous from regenerating?

While this falls more into Decu's purview I get the impression that Sayaka would be much more likely to murder us for being a horrible witch abomination.

That said, I'm sure there are people that would indulge us. Also worth noting, unless I'm mistake, absorbing soul gems is also an option.

You know.

If you wanted to go that way.

Sayaka is as close as a meguca Inquisitor as there could be without The Emporer of Mankind himself appearing from the Warp.

The bitchmobile would cut Chiaki into ribbons before she'd even finish the sentence.

>>41183087
I'm certain it's possible but it's hard to imagine her doing anything else at the moment. Kyouko would probably be more sympathetic.

Ah, so they won't end up as voices in Chiaki's head or anything of that sort... That leaves it as a usable option.

After all, executing enemy megucas ain't that big of a deal, and eating a Soul Gem in private is easier than trying to make a steak out of an MG.

Though... pitching the idea of Witch steaks as a 'why the hell not' kind of thing might work as well...
