Your tribe has wandered the plains and deserts of Arub Na Cul for generations, with hundreds of bulls under the horns of the great Chief. Chasing after the running herds of the various animals of the plains have made the men of the tribe strong, but life was not easy.
One day when the the rains left the plains for many days, a hail of death came across the tribe during migration. Manthings upon horses struck chaos across the tribe, many of the greatest and strongest bulls fought to protect the women and children. However the surprise of the attack and superior arms of the Menthings decimated them. Only by gathering those around you and taking off in a mad run did you survive. Those that are here in this wet, humid, dark jungle number 12 females and 30 bulls with 8 assorted children.

Hey OP I have an annoying question for you, you don't have to answer. In your (good) prologue you said our group had survived the Manthings
>by gathering those around you and taking off in a mad run
And male Minotaurs have Blind Rage, meaning once they start fighting they cannot run. So those who make up our group didn't try to fight, they only tried to save the women and children (and themselves) correct?

If yes, are they ashamed of themselves for not fighting? It could be characterized either as cowardice or the smart thing to do.

The tribe begins to chop down trees gaining 70 wood using up 60 of it for the buildings they construct>>41142886 although they have no walls, they are off the ground and protected from rain.

Now the shaman. (Next vote will include one for his name) begins the ritual his master taught him to begin to invoke the spirits of nature and speak with them. However something goes wrong while speaking to the spirits, upon noticing where the tribe is and their reduced numbers the Great Spirit asks what became of the tribe. When the shaman communicates to the spirits the fate of the tribe, a dark wind flows through the jungle screaming in pain, the skies alight with flashes and the earth shakes with rage. The Great Spirit strikes down into the center of camp, much to the fear of the tribe. It approaches the shaman and proceeds to grasps his shoulders and chant. The shaman's eyes alit with energy and power and great runes brand themselves into his skin. He then collapses and falls into a sleep, the Great Spirit then looks around the camp and leaves a small stone firmly planted into the soil at the center covered with runes.

So how do minotaurs typically handle this "few females but can reproduce with other races" thing, is it like pic related?
>>
>>41143698
Water management of some kind is essential farming in jungle biomes. The Khmer civilization had an elaborate network of reservoirs and irrigation that they used to grow rice. Aztec chinampas were used specifically for farming on lakes.
>>
>>41143698
Easy to grow crops that reduces erosion.

Other chinampas are built on boats and are extremely productive. Tenochticlan was the biggest city of the world when Cortez arrived and 90% of all their food was produced this way. All wastes were used as fertilizer so they almost never had plague.

U fokin lucky m8

Although our people come from nomadic roots and never stayed in one place for too long, something seems to compel them to settle down and resecure their place in the world. A group consensus comes from the bulls to get a constant source of meat and a way to keep it fresh, with the simplest way to do so is to bring back live prey. They(16 dudes) spilt up into 2 groups and search for the pigs. One group agrees that it would be a good idea to scout out the nearby area as well.

Group A (pigs) finds 4 sows with their boar and proceed to hogtie them all and grabbing their piglets (total 5 breeding pigs and 23 young) They then race back to camp and begin to construct pens to hold them.

Group B proceeds to look around the immediate area, finding a river beginning in a waterfall to the north that runs east to west, a coast to the far west, and deep jungle generally all around. While searching the river they find an encampment of strange scale covered Manthings.

"We need friends in these times, Menthings of scales and rivers will may be more welcoming than those of pale flesh and hair." The women run about gathering local fruits and flowers, finding a Fox and skinning it and a patch of glowing mushrooms. The tribe prepares a gifts of the pelt, flowers, and a medium aged pig for the Menthings. Upon hearing all the commotion taking place within the camp, Stout Horns awakes, his eyes alight with wisdom and power.

After taking a quick look around the camp he says " Killgore, what is going on here?"
"Menthings have been spotted on the river's flank, Stout Horns. We are going to speak with them."
"Hmm, I will go with."
"Stout Horns please your are still recov-"says one of the younger warriors
"I will be fine."
The group of 20 bulls March towards to river, and upon arriving they see the Menthings have already set up defences due to their arrival(minotaurs ain't quiet). Killgore bellows at the edge of the Scaled camp.

"We are the brood of Draluth, of which I am the father. Welcome to the jungles of Tora Sari." He says as the lizardmen begin to leave their homes and stand behind their leader. The talks go on into the night and both groups of the jungle come under a mutual respect and acceptance to each other's existence. The lizardmen accept the gifts of food and pelts, while reciprocating with gifts of 3 hammer heads of mithril, surprising all. We're still good on food.....if we don't want to search for metal, then we should build something to store food in. A smokehouse perhaps?

Search for metal next turn if nothing new pops up.....?

And I can go for defenses (or a smokehouse) for this turn.

The stone had been the talk of many of the tribe around the camp. A great rock, flickering with light, with runes engraved onto the side that carry some presence of power or life within them.

Stout Horns, due to his connection to the spiritual plane is ruled as the one to best examine the stone. Although his teaching from his master may of had been meager, the Spirits gifts fills in blanks for him, spelling out the the runes and what they say. "Within me holds you. Within me protects you. Within me preserves you. Within me advances you." Then when Stout Horns lays his hand upon the stone he hears the voice of the Old Great Bull speak to him.
From here will our people be reborn, we will grow strong here, and here you can call upon us... for a price."
Part 1
>>
The tribe continues to entrench themselves in the jungle over the period of 6 weeks. They cut down the trees around them and uncover a small cave system while using the wood to erect a small palisade and a smoke house while also improving all their houses, adding walls and chimneys.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

Also, my action choice is find river clay, because we all know its here in this jungle and then begin collecting it, keep it in a location that stay moist and out of the sun.

If able to, make walls weaved from plants or some shit and cake the clay onto it to dry and form walls.

We don't have to move in, but the possible mining/storage could be handy.

I'm Seconding your river clay idea. We can find a lot of uses for clay.

Build clay walls

I would like to do a diplo action with Lizardfolk ask the following questions:

"Are there any other peoples in these areas?"
Exchange info, if they give us any info, tell them about the humans, and tell them all we know.

"Can you show us and teach us methods of living in these parts?" If it is denial at first offer a pig. If they accept without the offer being made, gift two pigs (Not adults).

"Do you have any wares for sale or trade?"
We'll decide what to do then

I saw a couple of votes for this already so I'll write it.

The tribe takes to the new materials like fire and the camp/ up and incoming village is soon full of minotaurs trying their hands at claywork.

Killgore notices this and directs the peoples frenzy to bigger projects. He grabs 10 bulls to improve the pallisade and build upon it, making it thicker and more defensive. This passively spreads to the rest of the camp and soon all the cabins are insulated and larger due to their new walls.

Stout Horn however has been spending the week experimenting with the metals and came up with the idea to use the clay as a means of making a furnace to melt out the ore and remove the impurities of the metal until it is usable.

The Lizard folk answer the questions in order as they were asked. The lizardfolk speak of a strange presense to the far south within a cave where many lizardfolk disappear if they wander too close.
They say they will be willing to share their fishing nets and poles for a sow.
They say they do have some spare swords lying around but due to our size they're more like knives.
They would be interested in having Stout Horns come and stay with them for a week and teach their shamans.

Hola?

Sunrise early, Stout Horns takes off for the river to meet with the lizardfolk's shaman where they spend the weak both speaking on each other's different magically manners. Minotaur magic due to their struggle with the arcane plane has to either be brought to be by a Spirit or traded in a clause of blood.
Lizardfolk magic however is based upon the magic that each being carries within their blood and Lizardfolk shamans can channel their magic by ritual scarification as a form of a instant use spell for various uses.
>Results
Minotaurs now can do minor magic with time to prepare the right tattoo and scar if needed (like a light, flame, minor levitation, or push) However a single wrong stroke of line can cause unintended affects. While the Lizardfolk gain the ablility to commune with the Great Spirit, although this does not mean it will always listen.
The Lizardfolk happily exchange the secrets to their nets and poles for one sow and the installation of the pen. However most of the nets and poles made by the larger Minotaurs are ineffective as your hands are not nimble enough for the high quality needed,

At the end of the week a young bull that took to living with the Lizardfolk woman runs into the middle of camp bellowing for Stout Horns. Upon seeing this Stout Horns runs to the cabin where the couple dwell with the bull at his heels. Luckly this was one of the days when the lizardfolk shaman came into the Minotaur camp, so as such he was able to assist with the delivery. The calf was covered with broken egg shells as the egg developed inside the woman. The Lizardtaur has the hoofs of a bull, the teeth of a his mother and is much smaller than that of regular calves, it also has scales on its legs instead of fur and a it has a reptile tail.
