The captain Ramiel ceased suffering an excruciating pain in every inch of her body for a fraction of a second, it was time enough for him to return to his senses and use his powerful legs to impulse himself into the air with his massive two handed relic sword crackling bolts of powerful energy.

During that time you thought you saw the outline of some long feathery wings on his back, it was such a heroic feat that the ascension seemed to go on slow motion. On the other hand the descend was so fast and brutal that lasted less than a blink.

Then there was a small silence that turned into a cacophonic hell. The blade slowly carved into the side of the xenos, easily ripping out two of his numb and useless limbs. The Captain wanted to sink that blade deep into the Zoanthrope’s massive brain to give it the death it requires but still he had to contain himself and slightly divert the blade in the last second.

This almost proved to be fatal. The abominable alien wriggled its bleeding stumps and sent a painful screech that was boosted by its strange powers and had the back-feed of the Narwhal’s bio-ship’s brain as a massive amplifier.
>>
>>41136306
The captain was launched several meters back and the sword violently flew from his hands. It ended spinning uncontrollably up in the air until it reached the inside shell of the ship’s skull and ended lodged up there. The activation rune of the blade was still activated and thus its armor sundering power field started to crack and break the thick bone. Before we could react the sword had broken so much of its skull that it ended creating a breach that communicated with the outside void. Luckily for the captain this breach also made the heavy sword fall into the floor from where he quickly reacquired it.

We had damaged the Narwhal so much that it was heading into one of the main Hive ships, probably to be devoured and recycled into genetic sludge to create more ships or warriors. We had created so much noise that the own ship had detected our intrusion and was using its last energy reserves to spawn Tyranid lifeforms as fast as it could. Chances were against us but we were space marines, if there was a single warrior that was able to do it it would be us. Emperor Vult!

>Focus your fire on the Brain, you won’t be able to damage it but it distracts the Zoan.

You better not stand out too much, you are here to give support and show your worthiness. Besides you cannot risk focusing fire on the vile xenos and killing it in the process.

Your bolts reach the surface cortex of the massive brain, they dig into the soft tissue and explode shortly after but still it is of such massive size that you cannot do nothing but chip its surface in comparison. Still your continuous attacks are not wasting precious sacred bolt shells as it seems that the ship and the Zoan share some kind of connexion and with each one of your attacks that connection is weakened a little bit more.

Not all of your projectiles end reaching its destination, not because you lacked marksmanship but for more strange reasons. From time to time from the brain some kind of psychic waves or energy arcs appeared and exploded your bolts prematurely or sent them flying away, it was some kind of defence mechanism, an organic void shield.

By the time your first cartridge was empty the other two reached your destination, they were wounded and the techmarine even limped. Trying to be optimistic you thought that if he ended losing his left leg he at least wouldn't mind getting a bionic replacement.

"The vile xenos are appearing everywhere! They are being hatched at alarming rates and unless we trap the creature soon we will be swarmed soon!"

The captain Raised its relic blade defiantly and proceeded to shout out orders.

"LIBRARIAN SHEN'RATH PROCEED TO CHARGE MY SWORD! TECHMARINE CONSTATIO GET READY YOUR WEBBER! APOTECHARION DIOMIS GET YOUR BOLTER WITH ANAESTHETIC BOLTS AND GUN DOWN THE CREATURE IN THE NONVITAL AREAS, THE REST OF US FOCUS ON THE NARWHAL BRAIN!"

As he ended yelling the breach on the top of the skull became bigger and started to suck harder. The Brain started to look paler as it was starting to lose pressure and blood.

The Librarian's eyes glowed bright gold and seemed to have some kind of shiny particles falling from them, the same kind of golden glowing aura started to surround the edge of the blade as if it were some kind of fire.

Constatio grabbed his webber and started calibrating it using his Mechanicus techno-sorcery. The weapon seemed to be extra heavy as if it had been specially designed for this kind of objective.

Diomis the apothecarion delicately grabbed a cartridge that had some kind of green needle tipped bullets on its interior and softly pushed it into its bolt pistol.

You grabbed your last bolter case and recharged. Then like a symphony everybody made their move.

Thousands of flying bolts from most of the team's Battle Brother's started flying and slowly exploding the brain. As if they were hungry termites that were devouring an old wooden chair the surface of the brain was starting to shrink, with each bolt a little bit more of brain was turned into a gory mess.

This was enough to distract and distress the Zoanthrope time enough for Diomis to shoot the alien in the chest, tail and its limbs. Not all of his shoots were successful and the ones that missed or hit its hard shell exploded and sent the green liquid flying away. Luckily for us he managed to achieve enough satisfactory shoots to pump the necessary anaesthetic to send it into a groggy state.

It was then when the hurried Techmarine proceeded to cover the alien into the trapping foam. He had to be quick because the alien needed to be awake and psychically active to keep itself alive. It's own body was so atrophied that it required a constant supply of psychic energy to keep itself floating, otherwise the weight of its own skull would crush its lithe body.

The webber's foam was of an orange-ish tone. It was probably some kind of counter measure designed to endure against its powers or its own caustic nature.
>>
>>41137555
>>41137555

Everybody but the captain relaxed for a second when we saw the xenos completely unconscious and trapped in the now hardened foam. That was one mistake that we would pay greatly.

Diomis decided to be the one that got behind the foam spheroid to assure that it was safe and to push it towards the exit. Just as he started to push a gargantuan jaw bit a great piece of the Narwhal's brain and also devoured the Astartes. Luckily the Zoan was out of the mouth's reach and its web was still sticky enough to be able to held it in place.

After the bite the mouth retracted and we all encountered ourselves with a great view of the outside void and the perpetrator of the attack, the impossibly big Hive Ship. The pressure differences pushed us all into the void but we all managed to hold by sticking our respective melee weapons into the floor.

Trying to not being sucked into the blackness of space you slowly advanced crouching and using your combat knife to create some stable point to hold into. Slowly you went into the trapped and unconscious xenos and raised it from the ground, now, there was nothing holding it.

"We cannot go back, the Tyranids awaiting on the other side would be way too time consuming and the Hive would end devouring us...WE HAVE TO JUMP!"

The entire kill team roared in anticipation and at the same time decided that you were right.

"Wait!" Yelled Constatio the Techmarine. "I have something to do. One last gift from the Omnissiah to the Hive Mind..."

He unloaded his heavy backpack and proceeded to push rune buttons and do strange the mechanical wizardry that only the disciples of the Cult Mechanicus know how to. The heavy backpack soon opened and revealed in its interior some drills that secured it into the ground and at least four coils that started to glow with a white blue light that was as intense as the core of a sun. Then...a countdown appeared.

"GO! GO! GO!" Yelled the captain.

The entire team jumped from the bleeding gap while the captain yelled orders and asked for a retrieval.

You grabbed the foam sphere and sunk your ceramite armored fingers into the now hardened surface to get a better grips. There was little more than you could do once you were suspended in the nothingness. Without a vehicle or a jump pack you were unable to move anywhere. All you could do was observe the theatre of war that was developing in front of you.
>>
>>41138158

The Captain with his still magic flaming relic blade plunged directly into the gaping maw of the Hive Ship, once again some kind of wings were on his back, this time they were so bright that you could swear that they were solid. You didn't knew if he ended into the beast's mouth for causality or his own choosing but that mattered not now. He would die by fighting hordes of alien enemies, truly the most honourable of the deaths.

Arjaten the Space Wolf Devastator managed to stay pretty close to you. You thought at first that he was some kind of brutish beast but to your surprised he managed to control and even maneuver by shooting his plasma pistol. He grabbed your hand to stay still and steady, then he gave a pitiful look at the Zoanthrope and noticed that he wasn't protected against the void and was slowly dying from blood loss and air deprivation. He did the only thing he could do and punched the alien in the snout, at least that way some part of its ichor blood would return to his cranium.

Shen'rath the Librarian tried to use its powers to direct himself in your direction but he was so strained already that he ended invoking perils of the warp and his entire body exploded for no reason.

The techmarine floated away too far. Unless found by the rest of the ships he would die of inanition or air lack. It wasn't an honourable death but what happened then surely ensured him a privileged seat next to the Emperor.

With another massive bite the Hive chew another part of the Narwhal. Even the bio-ships were subjected to the food chain and the strong had to feed from the weak. This time it wouldn't be that way thought. Humanity would be the one with the last word.
>>
>>41138182

Just as it bit and swallowed the plasma bomb went off. Since it was in the interior the damage output was the maximum possible and while it wasn't big enough to explode the Hive Ship it had been damaging enough to destroy its vital organs and kill it.

Luckily for you two and your trophy the chaos that the Plasma Bomb ensued was distraction enough to give the ships a chance to get close enough without being detected. Once in the interior you two pushed the creature into a safe cage and went back into the materium.

Back in the safety of the ship yet surrounded by the dangers of the warp travel you decided to relax and rest.

"I am glad I could issue the Emperor's wrath among those vile xenos."

The Space Wolf shrugged and then nodded.

"Is your lack of respect the reason of why you ended as a blackguard or what? Several valiant battle brothers have died. Keep a silence in their honor."

Shortly after he removed his helmet and revealed a flowing sea of curly dirty blond hair that fell all down into his waist. He looked down and let the hair cascade and hide his face but it was obvious that he was touched by their deaths and was repressing back tears.

"What a better way of honouring them than to remember and discuss their heroic feats?"

He jumped in an instant and grabbed your neck with both hands, for an instant he tried to choke you and after a second or two of pointless rage he ended relieving himself by punching the inside hull of the ship with such strength that he ended creating an indentation.

The rest of the journey continued in silence until he decided to break the silence a few hours later.

"You'll do well in there Blackshield. Not all of our missions end in such abrupt ways. Each morning we scout the jungles that surround the Station and train by hunting the Xeno beasts that we have carried in there from all across the galaxy."

Honestly, you were not really interested in what he had to say. Your mind was mostly focused on reviving the moments in which you killed the Tyranid aliens. Under your helmet there was a smile of satisfaction as you remembered those moments over and over.
>>
>>41138988

"Do tell more..." You said faking enthusiasm.

"Our fortress is a pyramid in more than one sense. On the first level there are the serf slaves. Those are the tribal inhabitants of the planet that have managed to cross the world and reach us. You see, there is a very interesting legend that we have created to pike the interest of the tribals. They all know of the pyramid, be it because they are close enough to see the lighthouse on top of it or thanks to holo-images that we show using satellites in the furthest regions. They believe that if they reach the pyramid they will be enlightened and be servants of the warrior angels of the God Emperor. In some aspects they aren't wrong!"

He started to laugh with a nasal smile that irritated you more than you thought at first.

"They have to cross deadly jungles and the closer they get to the Pyramid the more danger they will find. We have killed more than one by accident during one of our morning training rituals while hunting xeno beasts. Their last trial will be entering into the lake the pyramid is setted in and cross the savage whirlwinds and avoid being sucked by the turbines. If they manage to do they will be granted the privilege of serving us. They also get access to bionics and medical services that give them way longer lives. Most of them return to their tribes centuries later covered in wrinkles and mechanical parts that manage to amaze the impressionable and ignorant tribals and hear their stories about the pyramid, further expanding the legend."

Another guffaw...This time it was even louder.

"That's not the only privilege they have access to. There is a Schola Progenium in the Middle levels of the pyramid. The sons and daughters of the tribals are accepted inside because as they have been born inside they are a step above the mere ferals. If they manage to graduate they will become Storm Troopers for the Inquisitor Dhroznak and a support for some of our missions..."
>>
>>41139011

"Yeah, on the base there are the serfs, then the storm troopers and finally the Deathwatch. A pyramid. Fascinating."

Luckily it wasn't long after until the ship entered into the Materium and soon after into the orbit of the feral world.

Once on the surface and with the Zoan now conscious yet still trapped you meet the Inquisitor that looked with curiosity at the trapped specimen and barely noticed the few survivors.

"What do we do with this?" You asked.

"Let the xenologist take care of it." He answered as if it were the most obvious thing.

Some techpriests appeared and connected a machine into a small socket that was on one side of the cage. Shortly after the entire cage got electrified and that broke the foam that turned into dust while also shocking the creature and sending it into a forced sleep once again. Shortly after they strapped the creature into a wheeled stretcher and disappeared running into the maze of corridors that was the Station.

You also saw Karelia that received you but the annoying yet useful techpriest was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is Heracor." You asked to Karelia, but before she could answer the Ordos Xenos Inquisitor answered first.

"He had a mission of his own. Capture an Ork Wyrdboy!"
>>
>>41139025
>Back to controlling Heracor. ( This is a few days before the Death-watch Mission ))

Karelia started to chit chat with the Inquisitor, Juliannus had joined his Astartes brethen and once again, you were lonely. The few people you loved, your daughter and Liwet were at least thousands of kilometers away.

You looked at the Inquisitor duo whisper secrets that should be out of everybody's ears just like the Mechanicus keeps its secrets for his own. Then Drhoznak called for somebody over his comm, shortly after two strong and heavily equipped warriors came with an strange looking collar directly at you.

During that instant you didn't considered yourself a threat nor an enemy so you didn't react nor tried to run away fast enough, one of them with a quick movement trapped your hands and dendrites and the other placed the collar on your neck before you could react.
>>
>>41139293

"What is happening!" You yelled with the most mechanical and menacing voice that you could muster.

"What happens is that you are a convict with many crimes that haven't been paid and prosecuted in years...until now."

It was true, you ran away from your Forge World, technically you had been missing your work spot for years and avoided your holy duty. Karelia looked at you with disgust, probably all the friendship that you had managed to construct was now lost. For her you were once more the souless beast, and now on top of that a criminal, she softly shook her head as if she were very disappointed and slowly faded away.

"You see. I have been capturing psychic xenos for years. It has been my lifetime mission. I was once really close to my objective but I was stopped by Dark Eldar raiders, but now after years of searching and seeking in the darkest corners of the galaxy I am once more close to my objective." The Inquisitor said with a deep voice.

"The Deathwatch have been an invaluable asset during this mission and they have succesfully captured 90% of the xenos that I currently have. Yet there is a mission that they cannot do. And that is where you step in..."

Well good news! If thats it we can definitely negotiate ourselves down for our crimes quite a bit, especially seeing our desertion saved countless lives due to our stopping a demon from infesting a warpship and helping to prevent countless deaths on that planet.
>>
>>41139693
To be fair, the Administratum doesn't have a very good track record on the subject of lost files. I mean, entire subsectors are lost due to misfiles and such, and they no longer have room for all the paper lying around. We could've potentially gotten away with that excuse indefinitely.
>>
Guys, lets not be overly obnoxious, we can argue quite effectively that it was more efficient that we be on the front lines than off of them. The fact that we were a malfunctioning ""servitor"" or whatever we were is irrelevant as it is a local tech priest affair, one that me and my entire regiment of skitari would be happy to take up with my former enclave.

Hmm. We could certainly ask Karelia about where or from whom the inquisitor got the blueprints later. Get him to start distrusting him and start setting up an escape for us later. Because I don't trust him not to trigger the collar after the mission is done anyways.

Our crimes are far outweighed by how god damn important we are, we single handedly built his machine and are currently in charge of quite a bit of tech priests. We also have shown enough combat prowess to make keeping us around worthwhile. We can definitely fuck him up but not if we play our cards wrong.

>Ask him what does he know about your crimes

"The Administratum isn't the most reliable of sources. How did you discover that I have commited crimes."

"Technically everybody that doesn't dies for the Emperor is a criminal. As you haven't died for him yet you are suspicious under him eyes. That's a mantra that Karelia taught me. She's stuck in the present and prefers to observe and spy his adepts and workers but I am more traditionalist and prefer to contact with the archives."

"What does that mean exactly?"

"Well. Karelia told me that she was coming and I decided to investigate its closest adepts. Mostly you and Nala. She was clean and there was barely anything noteworthy on her report. Yours was very interesting thought."

"I barely know nothing of my past..." You admitted.

"As do I. You are mostly clean as if you were nonexistant until recently. This could be easily be taken as an archiving mistake but I decided to focus on the few years that are on your reports. It didn't took me long to contact an Astropath and stablish communication with your Forge World. Then discovering that you had left the planet without asking for permit or communicating it came soon after. Absence without official Leave is a very severe crime against the Imperium, scum."
>>
>>41140171
>Ask him what mission it is.

"I have committed crimes. I have no choice but to follow the leader, you in this case. The small gear has always to be pushed by the bigger gear after all."

"Good boy!" He answered has if you were imbecile.

Even if you were way more intelligent that him you right now truly felt dumb. The demons of your past were now hitting you harder than ever.

"You see. We are pretty close to Ork Space. We are a secret Station that keeps them at bay. Luckily for us they are pretty busy dealing with a Hive Fleet right now but it is still a constant threat." He started walking and the storm troopers rudely pushed you to silently order you to follow him.

"Orks do have psychically cursed individuals among their barbarous kin. They are called Wyrds. Anyway, there is am Ork Freebotah that has descended from the Evil Sunz and has a great army of boyz under his orders. He is purely driven by three main factors; Speed, Destruction and above all Looting. Oddly compared with other greenskins he is pretty accepting and will accept deals and duels from members of almost all races. This leads us to believe that he is of above average intelligence, which makes him even way deadlier."

Wyrds, Freebotah, Boyz...all those words were new for you. All you had heard from orks so far were kid tales and the story that Oihan told you about the Ork that ripped out her arms and left her for dead.

"You see. This Ork Freebotah, Skogurk Madloota, has been organizing "DA LOOTAGOTTA RACE" for several years. It is a deadly race that creates mayhem and havoc whenever it passes. Its boyz only have to pass after the racers to get a massive booty of junk and tech. So far Skorgurk has managed to ammass a massive quantity of technology and power. In his last race he decided that the great price would be anything that the winner desired..."
>>
>>41140227
You started to see where this was leading and you didn't liked it.

"I have fought for the Imperium, I have killed heretics, xenos and daemons. Aren't my crimes already paid?"

"This will be your last trial. But don't worry criminal, you will be surrounded by the same scum like you. I have been getting criminals from this sector and sending them to race for months already. The moment they die they are pardoned, and now you will participate too."

You were forcefully dragged and placed into a cell without light or sustenance, only four metallic walls that trapped you.

>Try to study the collar he had placed on you.

Without anything better to do you looked at the collar. It was a simple collar with sensors and an explosive charge. It detected your heat, pulse rate and electric current of your spine. If you tried to remove it it would immediately go off and decapitate you explosively.

ALL RIGHT HERE ARE THE WAYS OF RACING AND SUCH.

It's one of the most unfair things in the galaxy. Orks can use any tech, and likely have samples of many Xeno weaponry as a result, but no one else can use theirs because its junk.
>>
>>41140465
We will be surrounded by Orks, their tech will work in our hands this time.

Ok! Lets go with the Ork fluffing! Some things will be already preselected but most will be chosen using dice:

Alright. To create the other racers I will need 5d100. I will pick the first seven rolls so you can roll more than once.

I was kind of hoping for some creative imput. For example, I thought of having one of our oponents ride a jet bike, and he would purposely go lower at the bigenning so he could then ram everyone from behind with a welded-on drill.

Oh well.

Well. The rules say that instead of using dices you can choose the different pieces with the exception of the engines. It also has a small part where it explains about special vehicles. You can create and submit a drill jetbike if it is balanced enough.
