Interlude: Crescent Earth

“We’ve set up the control bridge in front of the domed center of the old caste, access to the supercomputer you say rests dormant there will be restricted. Only no Task Force or Ellis Unlimited Techs will be allowed to attempt access without your presence,” he says reading from a clipboard as his heavy boots click alongside you while walking through the hastily erected air tight corridor toward the bulkhead.

“It isn’t just a supercomputer,” you explain, “It contains an AI millions of years old based on...that’s not important. Even if I’m there to watch them it might not do much good, I’m terrible with computers,”

You sigh and regard the Sergeant walking beside you, assigned as you attache during this operation. He’s taller than you, though not as tall as your Mamochan. Pulling at the arms of the jumpsuit you are wearing, you make an uncomfortable sound.

“Is everything alright, Sailor Moon?” he asks and comes to a stop alongside you at the bulkhead before the airlock.

“No,” you fuss, “This is just so uncomfortable. Walking around in my full dress isn’t really an option inside the base, but stuffing it all into this is so uncomfortable. I can’t just drop my transformation, I need to get some space to alter it into something more serviceable,”

“Of course, should I let base command know that you are stepping out?”

“Yes. And let them know I’ll be out of the oxygenated area surrounding the palace remains. Have they finished the survey to determine if the micro atmosphere is safe for normal humans?”

“Completion is projected in another hour and a half,”
>>
>>41029042
“Good,” you nod firmly and confidently, “Any contact with the others?”

“Only Magellan Castle,” he nods, “Though based on the projected schedule we should hear from Mariner Castle and Phobos Deimos Castle before of the end of the day earthside,”

“Good,” you nod firmly again and open the bulkhead door, “Wait for me here, I’ll be back shortly,”

Stepping through as it closes tightly behind you, you progress toward the outer airlock doors. Sealed in, your heart skips a beat as the air leaves your lunges. It doesn’t slow you down as the door opens to a field of gray, framed by the last remnants of the old castle. Before stepping out into the vacuum, you remove the jumpsuit and let your dress fly free.

Your hair waves slowly in the light gravity as you take long and graceful leaps across the pockmarked surface until you are a safe distance away from the base structure amid the old castle ruins.

As you look up at the sky, your heart catches in your throat. The earth below is beautiful, as beautiful as you remember it countless eons ago when you lived an entirely different life. Half shrouded in shadow along a curve, it reminds you of the way the moon beneath your feet can appear from so far away.

Is Mamochan looking up at you now? You miss him terribly, more so than when he is off on his business trips. Especially, you think as your hand drifts down along the gossamer presence of your black and flowing dress to come to a rest below your stomach, now.

“Keep it safe,” you whisper in remote request to your two daughters below, “Keep our blue earth safe, because when I come home I want a beautiful earth for your new sister to grow up in,”

With those thoughts passed, you marshal your energies and begin to alter the form of your transformed state. It shines, likely visible from the planet below, and creates gale force winds of magical force. To this end, your imagination tends toward something more practical.

Quest Start

A very strong girl is freaking out with her hands practically digging into her shoulders. She releases her grip from you and takes a breath in an effort to regain her composure. You’ve just outed yourself to this girl as a close friend from a Ganguro fashion circle to which you both belong. For a very long time you’ve treated your tanned and blonde self as a matter of dual identity. More accurately it was one many faces you wear in your currently running quadruple- no, septuple life.

“Chiba-san, you’re Miki?” the girl, Moe Ueda, parses out slowly.

You tilt your head and purse your lips into a disappointed pout as you nod to her. That reaction was terrible, like its some unexpected impossibility for the secretive girl Moe-chan knows you as to be the pink haired and sometime dour girl in front of her.

~Like, yeah,~ you maintain the cadence and colloquialisms to which she is more accustomed coming from you, ~Though I have to say I am totally underwhelmed by your reaction. Like you totally aren’t amazed and awed that the super private Miki has outed herself to you without her makeup and tan. You’re shocked. And that, like, hurts,~

“No, I’m amazed,” she backpedals, “I just didn’t expect it. You’ve caught me by surprise here,”

~Well, I guess that’s okay,~ you pout and then grin maniacally, ~So, what are you up to with your squats now?~

Its her turn to grin, and excitedly.

“I’m not sure yet, but my regular rep routines I’m up to 320,” she lays both her hands on her hips and stands triumphant with her apparently mighty legs set wide, “I might break the record for my weight class during regional trials,”

~That’s so cool,~ you squeal just as she starts to while you grab each others arms and start hopping in place excitedly.
>>
>>41029078
Your companions for the day watch the two of you in confusion and surprise. until your celebration comes to a stop.

“Um, Mikage-chan,” Aiha offers from behind, “about the ghost?”

~Oh yeah, right,~ you nod while pushing past your latent stereotypical blonde tendencies as Miki and adopt your more usual mannerisms, ~We are completely serious about possession. I was being haunted by this ghost around the time of the Tower incident, and Rin Kumada here saw it a few times while I was in the hospital,~

“I had heard about that from Sasha-san?” Moe queries, worriedly, “What happened,”

~I took an unexpected fall during the panic,~ you explain, honestly, ~I was out for a few days,~

“...okay,” Moe ventures between you and Rin, “Are you sure it wasn’t a monster or something?”

~Moe-chan,~ you scold her, ~We’ve both lived in Juuban long enough to know the difference,~

You are Mikage Chiba, second year highschool student fifteen years old, and you were formerly the third woman to carry the mantle of Sailor Moon after your mother and elder sister. Now that title belongs to your younger sister, Koyomi. Presently you are hunting for a ghost whose awakening it tied to your retrieval of a fragment of the Golden Crystal, a powerful artifact tied to the Starseed of Earth that is now your duty to protect and use by birthright.

Also; this ghost might be the dead sister of a friend, and it might now be possessing another friend!

Alright, back from my errand and ready to write. Time to tally
>>
~Anyway,~ you take on a more serious and concerned tone as you sit down on the hallway’s cushioned bend and pull Moe-chan down to sit with you, ~What’s been happening with Nakajima-san, and has anything else weird happened since the Tower incident?~

Moe-chan pouts as the girls take cautious positions around the two of you. Kanari leans against the vending machine, Aiha sits to your side, and Rin sets herself down a space over from Moe.

“She’s just been so unlike herself since that day,” she explains, “It was slow at first, now she’s quick to anger and lashing out even over nothing,”

Odd, she’s been like this since the tower incident? Rin didn’t mention the ghost seeming angry when she saw it in the hospital after that day when you first took the crystal fragment. Could it have foisted its anger onto Momoko Nakajima? Is that even how it can work with ghosts? Curious.

“A few days ago, someone bumped into her and she almost struck them,” she sighs, “I grabbed her hand, next thing I knew we were shouting at each other...and it felt like I wasn’t even talking to my own friend. As for weird, it isn’t just Momoko,”

~Not just her?~ you query, ~Sasha didn’t mention anything else weird,~

“He’s barely been here two weeks, Miki,” Moe-chan rolls her eyes, “He doesn’t know a lot of his classmates yet. Plus he always seems preoccupied,”

~Preoccupied? Doesn’t know a lot of his classmates yet? Is he settling in okay,~ you wonder aloud with some visible concern, ~I know its probably tough for him, being a foreigner and all,~

Moe-chan’s mood takes a swing from sadness into a sly grin.

“No, it isn’t quite like that. He just seems to take everything so seriously,” she chuckles a bit, “He’s actually gotten quite popular. All the guys and girls in the athletics program are super impressed with his fighting skills and dedication to training. I know I’ve become quite taken with and personally inspired by his drive,”
>>
>>41029376
They can probably manifest shields on their own.
>>
>>41030893

You aren’t aware of the twitch at the corner of your eye. Everyone else is thought, Moe seems personally proud that she’s wormed a way underneath your normally indomitable armor. Kanari seems incredibly amused, if nervously so. Against the back of your skull you feel a buzz of telepathic activity as Aiha seems to be trying very hard to keep something to herself, to a bit of your own amusement. Rin is looking, well she’s looking past you at Aiha.

~Anyway,~ you grit your teeth, ~Sasha aside, you said it wasn’t just Nakajima-san?~

“Yeah, a few other girls have been acting strange too,” she leans back into the bench and sighs, “I don’t know them very well, but the rumors around campus have been about the same as what’s been going on with Momoko-chan,”

There is a moment of quiet as your own tensions abates.

“Could it really be a ghost?”

~Maybe,~ you nod solemnly, ~It sounds like it might be related, that’s for sure; but something still seems a bit off,~

Moe-chan bursts out into laughter.

“This is so weird,” she composes herself, “That you could look or act like this, Miki,”

~Yeah. It is a bit of a shock, isn’t it?~

“Alright, I need to get going. It was nice finally meeting you, Miki,” she sighs, “Let me know if you need anything else on this ghost hunt,”

She rises and balances her bags on her shoulders as her bangs obscure her eyes.
>>
>>41030910

“And...let me know if you can help Momoko-chan,” she tilts up to smile at the lot of you, “It was nice to see all of you again. Next time we meet up, we’re arm wrestling again Kino-san,”

With that, she leaves the four of you to the corridor. Its quiet for a moment.

“That was helpful, right?” Kanari asks questioningly.

~Not sure yet,~ you pop up and stretch your arms, ~It does help paint a more complete picture though,~

>Lets leave and get some lunch

Taking out your phone, you lead the girls up and out of the gymnasium and Athletics building of the academy.

~Alright, time to get Tomoe-sensei to weigh in on things,~ you explain and dial her contact, ~And maybe take a look at that mucus,~

“I’ll meet you up in the courtyard,” Kanari says while looking into the gym, “We don’t have most of this equipment at the Junior High and I want to take a look,”

“Alright, see you upstairs,” Rin says while you and Aiha nod.

Your phone rings a few times before Tomoe-Sensei picks up.

“Hello,” her voice is the expected firmness and dryness that you have long been accustomed to.

~Hey, Tomoe-Sensei,~ you almost chirp, but cut the eagerness out of your voice.

As much as you still have mixed feelings about her, just knowing that your Sensei was proud of you just set something off in you. Like the giddy schoolgirl you never quite were was made real by that assertion, and it annoys you slightly.

“Oh, Mikage,” her voice tightens at first but then softens at your name, “Is everything alright?”

~Yeah, I’m investigating something and I think I might need your help,~ you say with some embarrassment, ~And I guess while we’re at it, I’m free for any of those tests you wanted to run on me and the crystal fragments,~

“That’s actually good timing,” she says as you leave the building for the campus central courtyard, “I’m in my private lab at the school right now. How soon can you meet me there?”

~Right now,~ you explain, ~Me and a few of the girls were just meeting a friend in the athletic building,~
>>
>>41032286

Ending the call, you notice that you have a missed call from your little sister. After texting instructions to Kanari on how to get to Tomoe-sensei’s private lab on her own, you lead Rin and Aiha through a secret passage inside the administrative building to a hidden elevator.

Its a long ride down.

>Talk to Aiha about something on the ride, what?

It isn’t worth it to call Koyomi back right now, your signal is likely to drop out and any text messages will probably fail to send. Might as well enjoy the slow ride down. It isn’t a standard elevator, it isn’t counterweighted or held up by cables.

Waiting in the quiet, amid the warm fluorescent lights on the cramped ceiling, the three of you feel the changes in air pressure and the odd imbalance in your stomachs from vertical motion.

Despite being in the company of so many friends today, you’ve noticed an odd increase in the number of awkward silences you’ve been a part of lately.

“Say,” finally something to end the quiet din drowning out the elevator’s motor, “Rin-chan...can I tell you something,”

Aiha is nervous about something, as she turns to face Rin behind her. You watch the two of them in the reflective surface of the elevator door ahead. The blue haired telepath is nervous, you can feel it pushing against the edge of your skull.

So, is she finally taking your advice? That her friends can be trusted.

“Yeah, Aiha-chan,” Rin asks curiously, “What is it?”

“Well,” Aiha brings her hands together and starts fidgeting, “It’s about-”

Part of you almost wants to interrupt, but it's only a small part. This is her moment, an important one at that, and you won’t tread all over it.

“-its something about me, Rin-chan,” she says with building confidence, “Something about myself that I’ve had trouble admitting and I want to tell you because you are my best friend,”

Rin nods firmly, a serious expression takes over her face. She steps closer to Aiha and clasps the nervous girls hands together with her own and holds them up between them. There is a stern determination on her face that is infectious as Aiha’s eyes meet her own.

“You can tell me anything, Aiha-chan,” Rin says with certain finality.
>>
>>41034072

For her part, the blue haired girl blushes in response. Not unlike how you’ve managed to make her blush her and there since learning about this yourself. To be fair, you probably really like teasing people in a playful manner.

“Rin-chan,” Aiha says quietly in sudden fear and worry as your balances shift when the elevator comes to a halt.

She screws her eyes tight, and finds the courage you’ve known she has since you found her on the roof of her school. Since you saw her take the offered wand and run straight back into danger. The same courage she uses to face down monsters, the courage of a magical girl, now coming to the confession of her most worried secret. Without a sound the elevator doors part open.

“I’m gay!” she says with volume, as a declaration.

You can’t see Rin’s reaction, you are no longer facing the reflective doors of the elevator. Instead, before you is a woman with a dark bob cut, a blouse, labcoat, and smart pencil straight black skirt.

Her demeanor and posture convey her usual, to you, confidence and coldness.

“Yes,” she says in a certain monotone, “A fairly frequent occurrence among those of us who are born to be Sailor Senshi, Miss Mizuno,”

“Eh?” the girl's eyes pop open and dart past your shoulder toward the open door.
>>
>>41034097

You look over your shoulder and catch Rin letting go of Aiha’s hands, to the older girl’s surprise. She says nothing, but buries her face in her hand and turns away from Aiha.

“T-thank you for telling me, Aiha-chan,” Rin says carefully while still hiding her face.

“Good afternoon, Mizuno-san, Kumada-san, Mikage,” Tomoe-sensei says dispassionately, but with the faintest hint of actual emotion when your eyes meet, “I believe we have a few things to do now, don’t we?”

~Hey girls,~ you turn to face them and step back out of the elevator beside Tomoe-sensei, ~Tomoe-sensei and I are going to talk for a bit so you two can hang out here,~

“Uh,” Aiha nods while Rin’s face remains buried in her own grasp.

Leaving them outside of the elevator, you follow Tomoe-sensei into one of the rooms near the hidden entrance. Its a strange cross between a first aid station and an exam room; one of many places you are familiar with while visiting here when you were younger for your training. Away from the other, she takes on a slightly more relaxed demeanor.

“So, Mikage,” she asks, “What did you need help with?”

~Oh, we’re chasing a ghost that was woken up by one of the crystal fragments,~ you explain, ~It actually tried to take it back during the chaos at Tokyo Tower. Rin saw it at the hospital and warded me against it, but I promised the spook that we’d have a sit down. Which is annoying because now I can’t find her anywhere,!

“And you want me to do what to help exactly?” she queries as you sit up on the inclined examination table.

~Rin and Aiha found some invisible slime,~ you shrug and lay back as Tomoe-sensei draws a needle and a few other items from the cabinets in the room, ~They wanted to see if you could analyze it and see if that could give us some kind of lead,~

“I’ll take a look at it after we’re done,” she says calmly as she runs down a battery of normal medical tests while also drawing blood.

Blood pressure, reflexes, tongue depressors, clearness of ears nose and throat, and then-

“Alright, let me see your fangs,” she asks while opening a drawer full of items that had the colorful and plastic quality indicative of Luna and Artemis having a hand or paw in their making.

Nodding, you reveal the fangs. Small scans are made. Teeth indentations are taken. A device more complicated than a stethoscope is pressed into your back and your front beneath your shirt.
>>
>>41036301

Its cold against your skin. It makes you shiver, and makes you nervous.

You do look so much like her, your sister, now. Its not easy to notice, but there are small sticks of hesitation, nervousness, and awkwardness in Tomoe-sensei.

“All done,” she says, “At least this phase. I would like to take readings during one of your feedings, but I don’t think we really have everything we need for that,”

~Why not yourself?~ you ask honestly, ~In the hospital you were a jumble of problems and feelings?~

She flinches at that.

“No,” she explains simply after composing herself, “I need to observe things as they happen. It wouldn’t do for me to be the meal. The rest of these test will need time to be processed and interpreted,”

~Oh, okay,~ you sigh, you’ve been getting hungry and could have used a taste of Tomoe-sensei’s hidden depths to take the edge off, ~Should we move on to the crystal?~

“Let’s check on the girls first,” she says, to your surprise, wistfully, “I’m curious if Miss Mizuno has realized the young Miss Kumada’s still confused affections for her,”

~Wait, what?~

“I may present a cold front,” she smiles, actually smiles, and presses a finger to your forehead that stops you in your tracks as you try to stand up from your seated position on the examination table, “but that doesn’t mean I’m not tertiarily capable of being aware of the hearts of others, my prized pupil,”

~T-Tomoe-sensei,~ you can’t quite find the words.

Rin having feelings for Aiha? You didn’t quite see that coming. Actually, in slight retrospect, hmm.

“Anyway, lets go check in on them before one of them dies of embarrassment,” she sighs and returns to her usual stern demeanor.

“MIKAGE CHIBA, GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE!” below the familiar lungs of Kanari Kino.

What the hell is Kanari’s problem now? Ugh, it probably wouldn’t do to ignore her.

“Hmm,” Tomoe-sensei wonders as she heads to the examination room door, “Is Miss Kino among your retinue today, if a bit late?”

~Yeah, she is,~ you sigh, ~I left her to check out the weight room,~

You stride out of the room ahead of her, and look down the hall to see Aiha waving her arms in a slight panic while standing in front of Kanari. Rin is flitting between the two of them, confusion and shock on her face.

“It wasn’t like that at all!” Aiha says exasperated.

“Then what was it like?” Kanari growls, “If she’s so out of control that you need to call in Sol to hose her down in a public fight then there is a BIG problem!”

“Ah, I’d heard about that,” Tomoe-sensei observes from behind you, “Is there a good reason?”

~Good enough,~ you smile and stride forward to gain Kanari’s attention, ~time to break this up,~

“YOU!” she snaps up from looking down at Aiha’s exasperated panic and points an accusatory finger at you, “What they hell were you doing throwing down with Sugimoto-san last night?”

Crossing your arms and smiling confidently, you regard the excitable girl carefully. She’s still quite wary of you, and knows how much stronger than her you are.

That she’s standing up so directly to you, it speaks volumes of either her courage or her stupidity. Then again, she does hate coming at problems from side and prefers things head on.

“Aiha says she roped Sol in because she thought you were going to hurt someone while berserk,” she surges forward as Aiha wraps her hands around her waist to hold her still.

The blue haired girl’s weight doesn’t slow her forward momentum in the least.
>>
>>41038360
“Kanari-chan! Calm down,” Aiha says worriedly as she is pressed forward, “I never said berserk!”

She stops in front of you, staring straight up into your eyes. Jaw set and eyes determined. Rin comes up behind the two of them slowly, in frustrated embarrassment.

“What the hell was all of this about?!”

As easy as it would be to just wreck her right now, she hasn't thrown a punch yet and you need to keep yourself calm. This morning you assured this girl that you are her ally, and then this comes to her attention. It must be difficult for her to understand, so you need to figure out the best way to help her.

If this is her reaction, you must have been extremely convincing. You can’t help but feel pride in yourself, you don’t suppress your smile.

~Calm down, Kanari,~ you peel Aiha off of the angry turned skeptical girl and set her to the side with Rin, ~Aiha just got a little more worried than she needed to be when I stormed out of a conversation as Red Eyes. It provided a great opportunity to convince the enemy that the Beast and Senshi weren’t on the same side,~

She’s a bit taken back by your confident smirk.

“Why would you want to make the enemy think that?” she says calming down a bit.

~Because, after helping Venus with something the other night, an agent of the enemy approached me to try and recruit the Beast. I played coy and said I’d think about it,~ you laugh, ~And then while taking my frustrations off on some self important assholes, Keiko showed up and I had a cunning plan,~

Kanari stares at you, screws her face tight, and then looks you in the eye far more calm than you think she’s ever looked at you before. To further the effect, she takes an additional calming breath.

“Koyomi gave me a panicked call. She was worried something happened between you and Sugimoto-san, that you weren’t answering your phone. After she touched base with me, I told her I was with you here to see Tomoe-san as on a ghost hunt. I then CALMLY told her to get in touch with Sugimoto-san while I had a word with you,” she carefully enunciates.

Aiha and Rin look back and forth between the two of you. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Rin’s hand seek out Aiha’s. Tomoe-sensei is standing just behind you, she hasn’t chimed in yet, but you know this whole thing must have caught her interest.
>>

~It sounded like you were going to try and take a swing at me,~ you say plainly and sigh, ~Sorry for causing such an uproar, I’ll give Koyomi a call as soon as I can. This whole thing was just an issue of opportunity. When that guy approached me, I saw it as an opportunity to really help out, but I wanted to really sell it,~

“Well it sold,” Kanari seems to shake something off of herself and steps forward and takes you into a surprise hug, “Koyomi is my best friend, and as much as you’ve been pissing me off lately, you’re like a big sister to me,”

It surprises you, her words as well as the strength behind her hug.

“A big sister who’s been gone for way too long and then comes back like a completely different person,” her voice breaks a little here, “I swear; if you get yourself killed going in there on your own, I’ll kill you for how much that’ll hurt Koyomi,”

~Kanari,~ you hug the girl back as she tenses at your touch and- oh sweet merciful cosmos how strong is this girl.

She releases you, rubs her slightly puffy eyes, and stares you down with her usual tough attitude.

“I do have a landline if you need it,” Tomoe-sensei interrupts.

>You guys go with Tomoe-sensei for the slime, I have a call to make
>I’ll call Koyomi when we’re done here, Sugimoto-san will have set her straight already
>Ask Aiha if she wants to make use of this opportunity to let Kanari in on her breakthrough

But whats the point? Jade, Kairi, and Sasha are probably the only people who matter that wouldn't understand it straight up. We dont need another language for whatever we have to say to Usa.

We really couldn't get service wherever this lab is.

Maybe, maybe not. We're all alternatey here.
She might be just assuming that it's even a girl, being this early on.
>>
>>41040892
You assume the one in the pic isn't alternate universe Koyomi.
>>
Huh, we've got an uptick in player count and activity. Guess I don't have to do thirty minute vote blocks anymore.

Also, consensus

And writing

Fair point.

Is later in the day now, probably folks getting free. Had family things to attend to myself and could only get in simple votes earlier on today. Also, baby nieces are adorable.

>Also, baby nieces are adorable.
Which is why you have picture to gush over now they've left.
>>
>>41041290
Technically, my sister has the pictures. I was occupied with my beard and mustache being used as a Touch & Feel book.
Which was disarmingly adorable, as opposed to the annoying it might be it any other situation.

~You guys go with Tomoe-sensei for the slime,~ you say and straighten out your back after Kanari decided to murder your spine and rib cage, ~I have a call to make,~

“Damn right you do,” Kanari mumbles to herself as she turns away from you with her arms crossed.

Aiha and Rin both nod to you and hurry after Tomoe-sensei as she passes you by.

“So, invisible slime?” she asks the girls, pausing to look back at you out of the corner of her eye.

There is concern there, but she simply nods to her private office door and leads the girls on to another part of this complex deep underground. Only a the Senshi himself and a few close and trusted allies know about this place. Its where Tomoe-sensei conducts her private research on magic, science, and herself.

When you visited her when you were younger, you’d poke around when Tomoe-sensei was letting your rest or recover from training. Thumbing through private research records; you didn’t know why, but she was recording data on her own magical abilities. At the time you didn’t understand their importance, but after the other day it a bit more clear.

Stepping into her private office and turning on the light, you marvel at the spartan desk and room. A few books and binders across the bookshelf, and a simple and almost sterile work desk. There is a large bay window that looks down into her main laboratory. Its a large space, with many sections and a large amount of equipment. Movement there catches your eye as the door at the far end of the giant room opens, and someone far nearer to you turns to face them.

Your father is down there, now facing Tomoe-sensei and the girls as they enter the lab. Your teacher holds the plastic vessel that is said to contain the viscous material you haven’t seen yet. There, before your father, is the glass tube your found in the bowels of Magician’s Lair.
>>
>>41042627
The body of the only mother he clearly remembers continues to float, suspended amid green fluid. He closes a shutter around the incubation chamber that looks to have been added with its temporary installation in the lab. Moreover, it appears that the massive bank of equipment attached to the device has been replaced by some of Tomoe-sensei’s own designs.

You’ll see your father a bit later, for now you have to speak with your sister. Lifting the chrome wedge off of your teacher’s desk, you dial the familiar number of your sister’s phone.

It doesn’t even finish ringing when she answers.

“Hello?” she asks uncertain, it is an unfamiliar number after all.

~Hey Koyomi-chan,~

“Mikage-neechan? Are you okay? I saw on the news and then tried to call and-”

~Calm down, I already spoke to Kanari. Did you speak with Keiko?~

“Mhmm,” you can here her nodding fast.

~Okay,~ you sigh, ~I’m at Tomoe-sensei’s lab right now with Kanari, Aiha, and Rin. So-~

You spend some time catching your sister up on your activities, and hearing her concerns about your plans to infiltrate the enemy. Then she jumps on the rumors about you and an up and coming musician. To which you further dissuade her concerns, and point those matters out as pure rumor.

Finishing your conversation, you watch the girls crowding around one of Tomoe-sensei’s machines along with your father. They are all wearing goggles as a warm hum sounds in the room beyond the window of the office.

Tomoe-sensei pulls a lever as you watch, and then there is a squelching sound as something viscous, clear, and yellow splats against the window at high speed and obscuring your vision of the room beyond.

What does he know?
Really hoping the goggles help hide things and/or shutters closed before the girls were in view.
>>
>>41043657
Well, hazy distorted view through fixed line of sight. And Daddy Mask probably didn't want to freak the girls out with body in a tube.

If I were a betting man, I'd put money on them being safe.

Thanks for the thread, Artemis.

Wait. Is Hotaru's big lab now covered with slime? Is Hotaru? Mamoru? The girls?

Are we not going to talk about Kanari having some kind of break through?
>>
>>41051517
She's a good kid, just a bit of an angry sort when it comes to expressing feelings.
Let's hope she remembers that she likes us next time we seem to screw up.

That's only funny in moon speak. And by that I mean Japanese, not in game moon speak

The blob is an alien. Not a ghost. If this had come from a meteor, then we could talk.

Also. If this were a blob, we just lost some important people. I doubt Artemis would be so cruel because we wanted to talk to our little sister.
