>You are one of two young Tuffle twins, thrown at Earth starting in early Dragon Ball by your "father"

>"Canon" has already taken a sharp turn from the "norm," as you'll readily see, and can take even sharper turns depending on the thread's action/dialogue choices and ideas

Previously on Dragon Ball Tuffle Quest: Maple and friends trained with Master Korin in the attempt to get the final Dragon Ball and have Penny's land restored to its former beauty. With their hunt for the Dragon Balls at an end, they've returned to Kame House for some celebrations.

While at Kame House, the blue-haired Launch prepares you all a congratulatory meal while Krillin and Yamcha chat with each other, Yamcha mostly asking for tips in regards to the training he'll be getting. Bulma talks with Goku and Acer for a little bit, while Chi-chi, Turtle, and Baby Gamera play around for a little while. Honestly, given all that's happened recently, it feels like forever since you all had some time to really just... act like kids. Well, relatively speaking. You end up playing with her and the turtles, eventually resulting in a friendly bit of tag between you, Chi-chi, and Baby Gamera. Master Roshi was busy watching his... programs, but seemed to at least be enjoying the company.

After the meal, Roshi asks to see you and your brother privately for a moment. As the three of you head outside, the old man is quiet for a moment, almost lost in thought. Finally, he speaks, "Kids, I must say, I'm incredibly proud of you two, given where you've come from, what you've been through. You..." he stops, and chuckles. "...I must say, you've passed and surpassed my style with flying colors." The Turtle Hermit turns to you and your brother and stays silent for a while. "I can live for a long, long time, kids. But my prime is gone. Turtle School will one day need a new teacher."

"Y-you mean us? I mean, I'm flattered, but..." Acer scratches the back of his head. "Goku, Chi-chi, Krillin, they're all just as good as we are. Is there something more to this?" He's apparently not been trying to read the old man's mind, out of respect.

"Maple, Acer. I know your situation is... a unique one, but... well, technically, you two are orphans." Roshi clears his throat. "So I'd like to formally adopt the two of you."

That kinda caught you off-guard. Roshi? Adopt you and brobro? You scratch the top of your head a little. "Er... this is sudden, Master. Can you explain a bit why?"

"Not reading my mind, heh. Thanks." Roshi leans on his staff. "In all honesty, I feel it would make things easier for you two. Neither of you really have a home to go back to, as much as you have spent with me or my sister. Even Goku still has Gohan's little home, as his legal grandson."

"Ah... I see." your brother frowns a little, eyes turning to the ground.

"Plus it would make things easier when you kids get citizen's licenses. Don't want anyone demanding things like birth certificates that you don't have." the old man chuckles heartily. He stops, however, looking back at the place with everyone inside it, Turtle and Baby Gamera restin near the TV. "And in the event that I pass on... well, hopefully a long time from now... Kame House-"

"I think I understand, Master." you halt him. Well, that's certainly something to think about. You might find this agreement acceptable, it's certainly got some logic to it.

You look at your brother. The two of you smile at each other, then towards Master Roshi, nodding. "You might be a silly old pervert sometimes, Master, but we're not gonna hold that against you. Still better than ghost dad was."

"Heh! I know, I know." he starts chuckling. "Thanks, kids." The three of you hug, the old man with a warm, comforting smile on his face.

"We're not gonna have to like, change our names or anything, are we?" Acer questions, elbowing Roshi in the arm. The three of you head inside again, Bulma looking at your Scouters.

"Ah, good timing, I was thinking about what you two were saying about the Scouters glitching out. Apparently they're not designed to handle such dramatic increases, hence the errors. I might be able to help you two out a bit, after I'm done with some of my other projects." the purple-haired woman says, turning her head to the Pirate Robot. "It's a good thing your devices are so well-designed, or else such sudden increases might've caused them to explode."

"Hah, these are the genuine article, not some cheap space monkey knockoffs." your brother tells her, Goku and Chi-chi giggling at the comment. "Still though, that sounds like a good idea, we'll have to get around to it some time."

After a while, topic of conversation turns to Yamcha and Launch as Turtle School students, and what you and your brother promised to them. You could try something today, or you could help them another time, since you still should check in with Baba. Choices...

You and brobro decide to give Baba the rundown of what happened, telling your friends that you'd be back in a while. Shouldn't take that long. As you fly off, you try to contact her, but are... told by that creepy pink ghost that she's busy at the moment. You didn't know that was possible. Well, more proof that there's more to learn out there. Upon arriving, you see her shouting with an old man.

"Your so-called fighters lost their matches and you don't have the money to pay! Now leave before- ah, Maple, Acer, excellent timing." Baba approaches you.

"What's wrong? Customer not liking your service?" you ask her.

"This gentleman won't take 'no' for an answer." Baba points at the individual. He's balding on the top but appears to have compensated for that with long, white hair, a mustache of similar color, dressed in dark pants and a white shirt with an orange vest over it. He looks at the two of you, glaring like you'd done something to him before.

"Hmnh. Fine. But this isn't the last you will hear from me, Fortuneteller. Perhaps I will find a way that doesn't require your outrageous services." he storms off, tossing a Capsule out which turns into a plane and hopping inside it. You notice Fangs sticking his tongue out at him as he leaves.

"Miss Baba, we've completed our tasks!" you tell her with some pride in your voice. "Pilaf is dealt with, Gurumes learned his lesson, and Goku even got to keep his grandpa's Dragon Ball!"

She pats you on the head. "Excellent work, Maple, Acer. Spike, would you mind?" She directs her voice to her building. The devil-man comes out with two tall hats, somewhat like Baba's, though lighter in color, one with a bluer tint to it, the other with a redder tint. "It isn't much, but these signify that you have passed. Your training under me has progressed to such a point that I feel like you two have earned it."

You take the blue hat, ecstatic expression on your face. You immediately put it on and make a little pose. Though, your mind turns to the person who left. "What was HIS problem? Did we like... do something to him? He looked at us in a way that if he had eye beams we would be charcoal. Like this, pew pew, pchoo!" You put your hands to your eyes and make laser noises for half a minute. Acer looks at you like your new hat is on too tight.

"In a way..." Baba looks in the direction he left. "That man is Doctor Gero. Former head Scientist of the Red Ribbon Army. You defeated his best creations."

"Should we go after him, Auntie Baba?"

The old woman chuckles as you call her that. "So he finally asked. Hah." You her give a cheeky grin.

"I mean, he could cause all sorts of trouble if we leave him alone. You can... never underestimate what a sciencey-type people can do when driven by a thirst for revenge..." you look down, kicking one of the little pebbles on the ground. "We should know."

"I thank you two for your diligence." Baba nods.

"I'll go get 'em, sis, be back shortly." Acer comments, flying off. You're about to chase after him when Baba asks you something.

"Maple, I know what your goal is in about three years' time, but I feel like I must warn you. I have seen many omens about things to come, and I a sure you have felt them too, if more subtly. What will you and your brother be doing to prepare for what lies ahead?"

>>A. Self improvement and training
>>B. Helping friends get stronger
>>C. Exploring the world a bit

Why not all three. Like going on a World Tour with everyone along with lots of sparring/training along the way. Learn more about the world, make allies, and overall get stronger.
>>
>>40839791

Well, first we promised to help our friends learn a few things first.

Then we want to explore the world more and meet interesting people. Goku met some lady, Trip that sounds interesting. Maybe he could introduce us.

Of coarse we would be training during this time too. We have to get stronger, there is a lot out there that may bear down on everyone. Korrin warned of something like that too. Ghost Dad may not be the only threat.
>>

>A. Self improvement and training
>B. Helping friends get stronger
>C. Exploring the world a bit
>D. Something else?

Maybe try and help Bulma and her dad with getting humanity off the ground and into space? Maybe it's a bit selfish, but it'd be nice to try and see if there were any other Tuffles out there who escaped. Plus, we might be able to make some new friends who could help us out, like that Jaco dude. It'd be nice to have an inkling of what's going on in the galaxy too, since whatever happens out there may eventually come over to Earth.
>>
>>40839791
>I still wish to travel the world, get to know the planet I have adopted as my home. So, I shall travel the world for maybe a year with whoever wishes to join me. After that I'll train with my friends to make sure the world is safe.
>>
>>40840011
For clarification (catchpa ate part of the post at the end, damn it), it's mostly how you'll divide up your time. Prioritizing self improvement means you'll get stronger. Friends, they'll get stronger. Exploring, means more adventures and little sidequest things, more like what Goku did in canon. You can have all three and still get benefits for all, but won't get the maximum of each individually.

I've got a lot of things planned in advance, just depends on if I need to use them all or if I need to come up with some new ones. Feel free to make whichever choices you want.
>>
>>40840135
Alright in that case I'll prioritize
>B. Helping friends get stronger

>>
>>40840135
I'd prioritize traveling the world
>>
>>40840135
I stand by A and B. The only Side Quest I'd really want to see happen is the one where we meet Trip or whatever the Journey To The West girl was that Goku met. After that, time to get swole.
>>
>>40840135
>B. Helping friends get stronger
>C. Exploring the world a bit

I'll cast my vote for helping everyone git gud and exploring, though prioritizing helping friends over adventures. Though it kinda sounds like both of those go hand-in-hand depending on who we take along.

Plus, if you ever need filler, you can pad out the threads with posts describing each of our friends powering up and shouting for an hour!
>>
>>40840220
>"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

>"When did Krillin get so tall?"
>>
>>40839791
>C. Exploring the world a bit
>B. Helping friends get stronger

I don't think I wanna go super metagamey for this. And depending on what we find exploring the world could benefit us towards getting stronger more than training normally would.
>>
>>40840322

Yeah. Plus, who wants to just do a shitton of training when there's a whole world out there to explore? That's the whole allure of DB, you know? While there were elements of exploration and mystic stuff on Namek, it was all just about who could get the strongest in the shortest period of time after that.
>>
>>40839791
"Something big is on the horizon, we need as many people standing by our side as possible. Brobro and I are going to train for it, and we'll be encouraging our friends to get strong too. In fact, I think we'll focus on that. Plus we should probably see what the planet we've come to call home has in store, y' know. It's a big, wonderful world out there. Maybe check on Jaco again, when he's here. See what the galaxy's been up to." you tell Baba, adjusting your new hat a little. So cool.

"Is that so?" the old lady raises an eyebrow.

You nod excitedly. "Definitely focus on our friends though." You skip around humming the theme of Yamcha's favorite show as your brother flies back. "That was quick."

"Dropped him off at West City's Police Department. He was a wanted man, wasn't too hard to deal with 'em." Acer shrugs.

"Well brobro, we've got some promises to keep!" you punch your fist into the air. "To Kame House!" The two of you blitz off in the direction of the place you can truly call home now. Goku tells you he's gonna explore a little himself, Chi-chi saying she's going to meet up with her father again. Krillin says he's going to head off with Goku, then maybe do some exploring on his own. You turn to Yamcha and Launch. Time to get to training them.

You start with helping Launch, and that starts with the priority of getting her to be able to, er, talk to herself. In exchange, Launch actually offers two things, one from her blonde side, one from her blue side. The first is more practical information, with her teaching you and your brother about habits of criminals, especially lower tier ones like scam artists and pickpockets. Useful, you guess. Interestingly, the blue-haired Launch actually starts teaching you and brobro how to cook. And not just cook, but cook well. Soon you and your brother almost catch up to her skills.

At first teaching Launch telepathy seems like it's going nowhere, due to the two different personalities having to relearn things over and over when they switch. However, soon you and Acer learn that such a thing could be beneficial, as it starts to become apparent that the repetition strengthens it moreso than either seems to pick it up individually.

After weeks of practice, between her own lessons with Roshi, she's finally able to do it. Launch and... er, Launch, have their first conversation together, without having to use something else as a medium between them. They're talking. To her amusement, the blonde Launch starts calling the other one "Blue." They realize that they are in fact both sort of are the same "person" but with two different "minds" that switch control. The sneezing is a sort of mental trigger, but one that might be able to be overcome, eventually.

When you aren't training Launch, you and brobro head over to Capsule Corp with Bulma. One thing that takes priority are the Scouters and the flaws in them. It takes a number of attempts, but eventually you and Bulma are able to overcome the error. Now all your Scouters can handle an increase in Power Level even greater than Korin's was, up to perhaps 10,000 or even higher. The Senzu Bean eludes Bulma, as while there are some mundane things to it, it's nearly impossible to replicate all of the effects, much less grow more without some very special soils and water.

After all that is done, you...

Yamcha, for as eager as he is to learn it, struggles with the foresight ability more than he thought he would. Still, he perseveres, and one day, during training with you...

"Come on Yamcha, you've almost got this!" you shout as you fire another Geist Magnum at him, Yamcha struggling to dodge it while blindfolded. He's getting tired, really pushing his body to the limits. "Keep your focus, use your mind to see where it's coming from!"

"It'd be easier if I could see wh- YAH!" he dodges again, this time not sure how much more he could take.

"Your eyes won't help you, think about it, what if something came after Bulma and you couldn't see it?!" You prepare one more shot, taking aim. You fire... and you can feel it. You can almost hear it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjE3-RXvJYg

Yamcha sidesteps it effortlessly. He quickly removes his blindfold, trying to make sure that just happened. He looks at you, and you nod. Yamcha starts dancing and cheering. It took him quite a while, but did it. As you've been teaching Yamcha, you've also kept up your studies in Magic. Something that catches your eye is a thing related to the fire magic your brother learned: lightning magic. The spells are still as arcane, archaic, and confusing as ever, but you at least get a pattern down for what to expect from it. You might be able to use it like your brother did, with some practice.

Unless someone can handle something like a Kaioken x50, doubtful they could manage it on their own.

Regardless, there are other ways to stay relevant, and that stuff should be a long way off from now.

Well, until Tri-clops came into play, Tien was just a regular human, and using his tri-beam he was able to no-sell Cell for a while.

Since Cell was apparently past SSJ level, it's reasonable to believe Tien had breached the double digits in the millions and was human still.

Even still, maybe humans can just master Ki to such a degree that few other things can, and thus can punch well above their PL because of their ability to utilize Ki better.

I dunno man, I'm not as inconsistent as Toriyama!

Aw dude we're totally gonna have to figure out cool Dual Techs now.

Like MAPLE SMASHing her enemy into the epicenter of Acer's Will O' Wisp,
or Acer wrestling some dude long enough for Maple to pointblank it with a Phantom Shotgun.
Or Goku conducting Maple's lightning strike with the Power Pole.
Or hitting the Spirit Ball with the Geist Magnum to create a doubly-powerful explosion.

You decide to throw your party at Kame House, and turn it into a sort of get-together. It's more how they functioned on Planet Plant anyway. It hadn't been that long since you last saw everyone, but it was still fairly nice to see them all again. Goku and Krillin told you about their adventures, in which they stopped a group who went by the names "Plague" and "Terror" from terrorizing a village with a magic gourd, which they present to you and your brother. While a thoughtful gesture, you can tell the thing doesn't have that good an aura to it. Also "Plague" and "Terror." Really. Those are some of the dumbest names. Goku and Krillin also helped a man save his dojo from a greedy rival school.

Chi-chi ended up exploring the ruins of a castle in the desert closest to her home, which she was shocked to discover was Pilaf's old place before his floating death fortress. She apparently got the rather expensive-looking bed for you and brobro as a gift, and a painting of Shenron. Strange that Pilaf had such a thing.

Launch cooked you a fantastic meal, while Bulma got you and your brother tickets to Dream Land, an amusement park in her city. Roshi got you two a rather funny fake beard and set of glasses. Finally, Yamcha made good on his promise and doubled the offer, first teaching you his Wolf Fang Fist and then showing you how his Spirit Ball works.

Using what you learned, you decide to take things up a notch. Instead of focusing ki into your hand, or even hands, you move it to your back, right near your shoulders. About a centimeter above your clothes two spheres form, smaller than the Spirit Ball, but with about the same amount of energy put into them. You fly up with them following, then start directing them around, maneuvering the spheres in the air for a while, then direct some of the energy out of the first one into a beam, hitting the sea, then the other. With what you have now, each can hold about 3 shots like that, total of 6. Noticeable explosions burst forth out of the water, some of it splashing on Goku and Krillin. You fly down to a very, very impressed Yamcha.

"Heh, got a name for that, kiddo?" the young man asks with a grin.

"Hmm... thinkin' maybe... Spirit... Bit?" you say with a shrug.

"Not 'Spirit Funnel?' Heh." he returns with a friendly jab.

"We'll see~" You skip back inside for your birthday lunch. After the meal, Bulma hits up on the idea of going to the Dream Land amusement park with you all, even offering to pay for everyone else since you and your brother have your tickets already.

You are a ten year old girl with a twin brother and one of your friends is suggesting you go to an amusement park with her and your other friends. How could you say no to this? You can't, it is impossible. You're nearly bouncing with joy at the suggestion. Your brother, in spite of trying to keep his cool, is just about to start doing the same. Bulma takes that as a "yes." You all make a quick trip over to West City, where the purple-haired young woman quickly points out this "Dream Land" place.

A domed area in the sky. Quite high up, at that. It's quite an interesting place. On your walk over, you see some of the police officers outside the station wave to you and your friends, then spot... a blonde woman in sleep clothes groggily walking into the station. For a moment she looks at your group, then seems to be staring at Launch. How... odd. Aw well, DREAM LAND! The place is loads of fun. You ride around on a carousel, race around in bumper cars, bounce around in an entire room of some sort of elastic material, and even get to go on a roller coaster. It's not nearly as thrilling as you're used to, but it's certainly something neat. Oolong doesn't seem to take as well to the last ride, Puar embarrassed for him.

On your way to get some snacks, you notice a person following your group from some distance away, slightly familiar. And staring at Launch. Hmm... You're about to ask when you hear a lady scream for help. Goku's the first to get ready.

You and Goku immediately rush to the scene. You spot a woman in garb not characteristic of the park's normal visitors with two men beside her, pulling at her purse. You and Goku look at each other and nod, then immediately dropkick the assailants. They go flying, and then crash into a wall. Upon standing up, they immediately start running, Acer, Krillin, and Chi-chi chasing after them. You, Yamcha, Goku, and Bulma help the lady up, Launch, Puar, and Oolong staring at her in mild confusion.

"Oh thank you, you sweet child, I don't know what they'd ever do if they got..." she looks up and sees you. She seems... almost scared? Goku looks at her with suspicion. The two stare for a moment, when suddenly...

"Hey, she has a booger on her head!" he shouts, pointing at her mole. You and Bulma promptly clock him on the head. "Oww... what did I do?"

"Goku, that isn't polite." you lecture him. Damn it monkey boy.

"Ah, uh, th-thank you again." she scoots back. "S-say, I happen to be a fortune teller, would you all like to have your fortune's told? It's on the house! Yeah, l-least I could do for two saving me!"

Well that is certainly suspicious behavior. "What's wrong, lady? You OK? You look like you've seen a ghost." You lean in like how Goku did. "And I'll pass on the fortune."

"I-I'm fine. Just..." She looks around, then runs back inside. You raise an eyebrow, making sure there wasn't anything swiped, then attempt to read her mind, but the only thought you can get clearly is "IT'S HER! IT'S THEM!"

"What was her problem?" Bulma comments, the rest of your friends nodding as your brother's group arrives with the would-be robbers.

"Probably runs a scam business." the blonde Launch comments. "These two hooligans run up and pretend to mug her, she takes you in, pockets some of your valuables. Look, you can tell how recent this building looks." Launch looks at the two. "Yeah yeah, I know Blue, but still. Small-time scams like this are dime a dozen.

"You would know, Launch." a voice addresses her. The... person that was following you, you presume? A blonde woman who doesn't look much older than Launch, with a cap that says "TOMATO" on it. Then she pulls out a badge. "Officer Akai Tomato. Launch, you're under arrest."

Also, we can't in good conscience help turn Launch in. Likewise, we can't in good conscience turn down the Law. You rub the back of your head. Well. Can't say you didn't expect this to happen, but... Well, first thing's first. You turn to the lady's assailants. "Is what she said true? Because that would help a bit."

"Ah, um, well... Hask-OW" the boar man starts, but is silenced by the other.

"W-we just want to make some money! That's all!" the other chuckles nervously.

"Well, you heard them, you might wanna get these two men, Officer. Also, ah... Launch hasn't done anything bad here." you tell the new lady. "Recently..." you add with a mumble.

"Thirty-five bank robberies, two train robberies, four hundred and twelve counts of assault..." she starts reciting a list she seems to have memorized, Launch counting the charges.

"Miss, um, what exactly is going on here?" you look at her and try to give her the most puppy-ish pout you can. It doesn't work.

"What is taking you two morons so long, I told you to get r-" the first woman from before jumps out, now wearing an all-too familiar getup. "Oh shit."

"Master Thief Hasky, oh, good, you can come with us." the Officer states, pulling our some handcuffs.

"Fat chance!" the woman takes out a remote control. "You make any wrong moves, and this entire park goes up in smoke!"

You find your face becoming well acquainted with your palm, and then send telepathic messages to your brother and Launch. You inform them that Launch can stop Hasky, you'll get the remote, and brobro can... save the cat. What is WITH that lady? Well, the tactic seems to have distracted Hasky. On the count of three, you all break. Launch delivers a strong right hook to the thief lady, causing her to drop the remote, which you catch quickly before it hits the ground and possibly activates. Launch then goes after the other two, knocking both clear on their ass. Your brother helps the cat go in the confusion, then you Clothes Beam some cloth restraints around the three. Launch picks them all up and hands them to Tomato.

"Three sixty-seven. I never got up to four hundred. Probably double-counted some of them." she clarifies, then sighs. "Uh, kids, sorry about this. I'm gonna go with them for a while. Maybe get off on good behavior...." she grumbles as she picks up the three thieves and walks off with Tomato, conversing with her.

"...well that happened." Yamcha says in near disbelief. Sadly, before you can enjoy any more of the park, everyone is ordered to evacuate while the law enforcement searches for any explosive devices.

Bulma lets out an aggravated sigh. "So much for that Birthday present. I'm sorry it kinda... ended up like this."

You look back at Dream Land. "Saaaay... who wants to go checking on any abandoned Haunted Houses? I mean, it is Halloween." you ask with a cheeky grin. Bulma and Yamcha shudder at the thought, your brother shaking his head.

"Maple, no."

"Maple, yes?"

"Maple. No."

"No fun..." you grumble. Looking at Bulma's sunken expression, you pat her on the back. "Always next time. Besides, we still had some fun."

"I guess... so now what?"

You look towards the Police Station as you pass by. "I wanna check up on Launch."

"Sounds like a plan." brobro comments. As you all head inside, you explain as much as you can about the situation. The most that they can do for you is bring the expenses down to 1,500,000 Zenni and 3 weeks community service. While you are willing to front most of that, Krillin steps in and says that he can pay for it; the riches he acquired from the Pirate Cave were worth much more than that. Launch approaches you all.

"Uh... kids. I don't know what to say." She turns away, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Think of it as promising that you'll not throw away your second chance." you tell her. Your friends nod in agreement.

Launch smiles. "It's a promise."

How much shit could she get done in three weeks of community service?

Assuming the average criminal has a PL of 7+, with remarkable ones at higher numbers of 20, any stronger and they could just walk out of the place, probably.

And Blue Launch has a PL of 257 which means Blonde Launch is probably breaching 600 (guessing since Launch initially had a PL of, what, 6 with Blue hair and Blonde Launch had a PL of 47, right?)

So just how much stuff will she get done in that short span of time?

Awesome!

All right, down to business. Stuff to do, in no particular order:

Help Bulma tinker around with the scouter, and the pirate cave tech
Moveswap up a cutting move from Chichi or Krillin
Go find and work for Tripitaka, see if we can learn some Magic
Practice magic more. We can clothes beam and lightning spells.
Practice ki with the rest of the cast more.
Go investigate the people "above" who trained Korin. (Kami's lookout)
Go investigate the Crane School
Maybe create an ultimate move.
Maybe practice some kind of Dual Tech or teamwork-based fighting move.

Also, when is Roshi's birthday? We totally gotta bake flesh dad a cake.

Or, alternatively, she could build 10,000 modern guns, 250 mobile artillery pieces, 5 Tanks, 1 traditional fighter biplane, or 1/10th of a modern fighter jet.

>>40848067
Launch, lacking knowledge in the key skills, could not actually build any of the things listed (except probably for the modern gun). This is just an example.
If you want manhours of labor for someone without technical knowledge, the usual thing is flattening and clearing land for roads/railways, or digging out places for construction/mining.
In these situations, you'd have to compare her PL to the PL of industrial equipment.

Unfortunately, PLs are kind of bunk when applied to that kind of scale.
A Rail Engine outputs about 2 Megawatts. A human being outputs 400 watts during intense exercise. By that scale, if an average human is 4 PL, then the rail engine would be 20,000 PL, or enough to flatten Vegeta.
This is of course crap.

Except it doesn't.

In this setting it more than likely also wouldn't be cybernetic, since as of current tech, no one is doing that whole cyborg thing save Gero, and we wouldn't ask him to build Acer an arm.

>>40848343
Comparatively, if Power Levels scaled linearly to wattage:
A battleship would have a power level of 10,000,000, or enough to flatten anything short of Frieza.
The Saturn V rocket would have a power level of 100,000,000 , or enough to seriously challenge Frieza's final form.
A large nuclear bomb (2 Megatons TNT equivalent)'s power level would be 100 Billion, or enough to flatten Final Form Cell.

This is crap though, as 20,000PL Vegeta could blow up the planet, and Final Form Cell could blow up the ~solar system~.

Earth's gravitational binding energy is on the order of 10^32 Joules.
If Vegeta outputting power for 1 hour was enough to split the earth into two pieces, he'd have to output at least 4*10^28 Joules per second, or 4*10^28 watts.
This is equivalent to 10^26 times the average human's energy output.
Thus making Vegeta's PL upon landing at earth ... 500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
Even if you assume Vegeta's power to "destroy the earth" was only equivalent to the claim that he would boil the oceans,
that would require 4 x 10^26 Joules of energy, a millionth of what it would take to destroy the planet.
That still puts his power level at 10^20 times the average human's,
or a power level of 50,000,000,000,000,000,000

Conclusion: Power levels are not linear.
Or, if they are, there's no fucking WAY mundane machinery could have a PL of 50 or a human a PL of 5.

Honestly, even for the purposes of this quest PLs are barely more than fluff. More like EXP or something, what you need to reach the next sort of tier of strength. Goku's about half way to level 3, FYI.

>>40848535
Man the short jokes will only get better as time goes on.
>>
>>40848633
Except machines in DB and DBZ don't have PLs, because it doesn't measure electrical output, but Ki, instead.

Machines do not have Ki, as they are not "alive".

Ya dig?

You'd be better off measuring how Ki translates into electricity, rather than how electricity translates into PLs
>>
>>40848702
I am not measuring electricity. The Watt is a unit of energy over time.
>>
>>40848647
>Honestly, even for the purposes of this quest PLs are barely more than fluff. More like EXP or something, what you need to reach the next sort of tier of strength. Goku's about half way to level 3, FYI.

Goku will always outpace maple. He has some wonky bonus there and a lot of people like me want to play with magic.

PL becomes crap after Frieza saga without fancy transformations or mergers though.
>>
>>40848765
I derped, I kept reading that as electricity, hold on, let me go headbutt a textbook.

But even so, wattage is a terrible way to compare to something that is "fictional" like Ki.

I mean, we can't shoot lasers out of our feet, so Ki as it is in DB is kind of non-existent.
>>
>>40848633
Even assuming that Power levels are bullshit,

the energy required to destroy a planet is equivalent to 100,000,000,000,000,000 modern city-flattening atomic bombs.

Frieza, putting 1% of his potential energy into a kick, would not make a crater when it knocks Goku into the ground.

Instead, it'd put in enough effort to start moving the planet at 1 kilometer per second. Or, in other words, the planet's crust just splattered.
>>
>>40848786
Exactly, just pointing it out. You've done a helluva job keeping pace, at least. Besides, pure numbers aren't everything. Skills are important.

Also does anyone want to start pondering on what your first Ultimate will be like? Keep in mind it's sort of the kind of things you'd see in the Z fighting games, finishing moves and the like. The Super Kamehameha that Goku used against Piccolo Jr. for example counts as one, in terms of how it'd relate to canon DB. Or you could wait until the next thread, there's plenty of time.

Earth's magnetic field comes from charges in its core.
The auroras come from the massive amount of charged particles hitting earth from the Sun.
Lightning is when charges in place A and place B connect.

I'm thinking a lightningbolt that doesn't stretch from the sky to the ground, but stretches from space to the mantle. Possibly even from the Sun to the Earth's core at higher levels.
In its wake, it leaves a beautiful aurora.

>>
>>40849624

I just thought of one that was so exciting that I dropped everything I was doing so I could write it down before I forgot. If we're going for DBXV ultimate type moves, here's one:

Spectral Janken Fist

>Rock!
Maple smashes her fist into opponent, and unloads Phantom Shotgun after the punch connects.

>Scissors!

Maple charges multiple max-charge Geist Magnums to using two fingers on one hand, and uses them to strafe opponent into one spot. She then converges her fingers like scissors, so her target gets pelted with huge beamspam. Kinda like how Frieza likes to pelt opponents with a fuckton of Death Beams.

>Paper!
While scissors is bombarding the opponent, Maple charges up another huge attack. Then she rams into her opponent while wreathed in Ki, then condenses the Ki into her palm and either fires a huge finishing blast or delivers an extremely punishing palm-strike. Huge explosion at the end optional.

Oddly enough, this closely resembles the Saiyan Spirit Ultimate, which is one of Bardock's signature ultimate moves in the various DBZ games.

Mystical Magical Nappa?

Nappa in a grand wizard robe?

Muscle Wizard Nappa.

Doubledubs

Go watch "Kung Fu Hustle" and be amazed.

Not really feeling the whole Messiah vibe there. It reeks of martyrdom.

So go Ty Lee on people?

We're going to become a firebender. We have some fire magic already, and are thinking about lightning magic too. Once we get the lightning magic we need to work on our fire magic some so we can throw it around more easily. Then power it up so the temp rises and causes it to burn blue.
>>
>>40851188
Yeah, it's sorta the opposite of unlife and resurrection.

Eh, there's so much more to learn besides fire powers. Besides, fire's not that effective.

>>40851252

I rather personally learn cold powers, and just master fire and ice as straight up mastery of Thermodynamics.

But then we can't master the greatest power of all.

And I don't have any pictures to make a Bobobo-Bo-bobobo reference.

Fuck that show was weird.
>>
Nappa and Vegeta never learn of the Dragon Balls, and thus Freeza never does.

Spaceward Ho!, as the Wild Cards lauch a multi-billion law suit on Cold Corp for stealing of the scouter and unlawful destruction of property. (Planet Plant)

Instead of Namek, the fight happens on Galactic Patrol HQ.
>>
>>40851252
Ask Pikkon how effective fire can be.
>>
>>40850988
Might be neat. Name sounds like it goes with something else, though.

>>40851021
It'll happen. Don't worry about it anon.

>>40851072
Still have telekinesis to learn, at least.

So long as you don't become a psycho with parenting issues. Hrm, maybe I can test this with a game of volley- er, Kuai Ball...

That's what it was called, right? Been forever since I watched that ep.

>>40851435
Ideas, ideas...
>>
>>40851496
We just have to make sure we defeat our opponents for all time. For they will never rise from the ashes of their shame and humiliation.
>>
>>40851496
Great, now we have to deal with teaching magic to a member of a species that simply cannot into magic.

Wonder how long it'd take Nappa to figure out he wasn't using magic at all, just fancy ki footwork.

Who am I kidding, his flexing to perform "spells" would be glorious.

He has the physique to perform techniques handed down for generations!
>>
>>40851548
No, no we don't. These are just ideas being thrown around.
>>
>>40851590
Oi, I already have the whole thing figured out.

We can even science him up some gauntlets that do some fancy things for him since he can't naturally.
>>
>>40851548
>>40851590
>>40851610

Well a hallmark of /tg/ DBZ quests has been to spare Nappa and change him.

Human quest had farmer Nappa.
Space Monkies has Abridged Nappa.
Space Alcholics has tactical/general Nappa.
>>
>>40851649
Fuck that, he's a no-good Space Monkey. Goku has goodness in him, Nappa's slaughtered without mercy.
>>
>>40851708
So is Bardock a good guy or a bad guy?

How about Gine?
>>
>>40851649

Though Nappa was killed initially in Human Quest. It took him a while before he became good people.

Space Alcoholics has a different sort of Nappa due to fundamental character changes, though Arctus probably doesn't mind too much that Nappa had to bloody his hands more than a few times to get where he is now. He's probably not too judgmental about it due to his own forced employment under the PTO.

Space Monkeys Nappa survived through circumstance, mainly.
>>
>>40851735
Regardless of how he was in his movie, he still genocided people and enjoyed it.

I couldn't say about Gine.
>>
>>40851708

Obviously.

Personally Maple is likely up for just killing the space Saiyans, since they have committed genocide many times over.

Alliance of convience is about the best they might get.
>>
>>40851735
Gine's good, Bardock's good to Saiyans, not so much anything else
>>
>>40851735

Bardock is a product of his environment. If he's evil, it's more because of the way his people are than any deep-seated need to inflict pain or dominate others. It was his job, he was good at it, and there would be hell to pay if he didn't do it. But the pay was good, and so were the fights.

Gine is notably not-Saiyan like, if I recall correctly.
>>
>>40851766
Wrong!

Gine, while gentle, still went out and fought alongside Bardock.

She had no talent for fighting and couldn't really put her heart into it, but she still killed, and she still ate them motherfuckers.
>>
>>40851794
>Gine is notably not-Saiyan like, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, it sounds like she was more human like then a Saiyan. She still worked on wiping out planets.
>>
>>40851820
She prepared the meat after they got it. A saiyan doesn't ever waste food, even if they don't have the stomach for killing.
>>
>>40851863
Yes, disregard the part where she still had spent time prior murdering entire populations.

Conveniently forget about that.

Captcha, that was a burger, not sushi.
>>
>>40851547
Anon no, please

>>40851548
>>40851610
I don't think he has quite the mustache for such a thing.

>>40851590
It's certainly better than trying to start up any shipping arguments. Glad that's sort of settled for now.

>>40851649
>>40851708
Such a thing is a long way off anyway. Don't worry too much about it right now.

>>40851735
Bardock is A *BRILLIANT* SCIENTIST

Gine is a weakling that everyone makes fun of when she was on Bardock's squad. Especially Fasha/Celipa/Korn/whatever her name is.

>>40851763
Given what they might see from Goku by the time they arrive on Earth, it might be more damaging to the pride to let them live. Dash of mercy at the hands of a Saiyan-gone-soft and a couple Tuffles. Everything Veggie knew was has been turned upside-down.
>>
>>40851897
>I don't think he has quite the mustache for such a thing.

You forget, his SSJ2 form DOES have that mustache, and it even turns blonde.

Checkmate, naysayers.
>>
>>40851884
It's not what a person did that defines them, it's what they keep doing.
>>
>>40852119
She kept being a saiyan, and according to le edge guy above, means that she would be deh ebil and needs to die.

And any way you slice it, she really wasn't a "good" person. Nice, sure, good, no.
>>
>>40851897
>Everything Veggie knew was has been turned upside-down.

Can we get spiritual revelation Vegeta who lets go of his pride and dedicates his life and his strength to doing good for goodness' sake?
>>
>>40852464
You think Maple will be calm enough to even consider that when Prince of her race's mortal enemy is shittalking her?
>>
>>40852478
I assume the revelation would come after he's beaten by The Power of Friendship (TM)
>>
>>40851897
... so you guys put Gero into prison too huh...
YOU FOOLS, you deserve what will happen!
