You are Jacob Cassidy. Former fixer for NovaTech. Currently retired and living in San Perlita.

Yesterday, you fended off a bunch of KAX outlaw bikers, then came home to find a beautiful girl hiding in your bathroom. She's Sandra Kovacs, the wife of Alexander Kovacs, who sits on the board of directors of NovaTech. She fled home from her husband because she grew to hate him; she had a tracker that she flushed down the toilet to keep herself hidden from his men. She doesn't know that you know she's Sandra Kovacs: she's only told you her first name, but you recognized her the moment you laid eyes on her.

You tried to tell her that she needed to get out and run, but she just got done giving you an absolutely fantastic blowjob, and is currently seated between your legs, looking up at you with begging eyes. "Please, I've never lived on my own. I promise to be a good woman for you." Given your earlier conversation, you know what those words mean to her: being the most dedicated housewife possible. She's currently wearing a too-large t-shirt that belongs to you, some dust still in her hair or on it from when she was hiding earlier, and she looks like the hottest girl you've ever known.

There are obvious problems with just fleeing with her. You'd have to get rid of the monitoring systems in your cybernetics, so NovaTech can't track you. You'd have to withdraw your money, so NovaTech can't freeze your accounts. You'd probably have to flee the country, to somewhere where Prodomine isn't a controlled substance, since getting a new prescription would be hellish.

>She can figure it out on her own. She seems smart enough. Wish her the best and tell her goodbye.
>Go down to Lumina Solar to get your monitoring systems removed.
>Go to the bank and withdraw as much of your money as possible.
>Write-in.

Say there was a vote for killing an important NPC, the options were:
>KILL HIM
>Search the room
>Go home
>Eat dinner

There's two votes to kill him and three votes spread across the others. The intent of the majority is to leave him alive, therefore it is fucking retarded for the QM to kill the guy without at least a confirmation vote. The same goes for the last vote last thread.
>>
>>40782678
And that's not how the QM ran it, so deal with it you crybaby. If your panties are in this much of a twist over it, then fuck off and go get them untwisted. There's no obligation keeping you here, your not being forced to participate, if you don't like it or how the QM runs it, then leave.

You need to get the monitoring systems removed from your cybernetics before you can go anywhere. NovaTech can track you to literally anywhere on the planet as long as they're still functional. Six separate monitors that beam information up to a satellite.

You get up, zipping yourself up and buttoning back up your shirt. Sandra scrambles to her feet as well, her fingers brushing through her hair, as though trying to ensure she's presentable. "We can't leave just yet," you explain. "My cybernetics have monitoring systems, they'll tell NovaTech where I am if we run, and they'll probably chase us." Sandra nods. "I have to go down to Lumina Solar, get Rodriguez to take them out."

"Rodriguez?" Sandra asks.

"Yeah," you say. "My guy. I don't have an appointment, but I'm sure I can make a convincing argument." You slide open a secret compartment in the kitchen with petty cash, one that went unnoticed. You still have a gun in your waistband, but money helps ensure loyalty as much as force does. "You stay here, I'll go down to Lumina Solar and get him."

"W-wait," Sandra says, her lips taut, her eyes big, her hand on your wrist. She looks so vulnerable. "I... please don't leave me alone. What if those men come back and find me?"

>Take her with you, hiding her in the trunk of your car.

Rolled 1 (1d2)

"Okay. Come on," you say, jerking your head towards upstairs. You give her a pair of pants, and she has to pull the belt extremely tight to make them fit around her, as well as rolling up the bottoms. She looks a bit ridiculous, decked out in men's clothes far too large for her, but whatever. At least it's clean. Once she's dressed, you take her with you to the car, cracking open the trunk. "Get in."

She licks her lips nervously, then nods. "O-okay, Mr. Cassidy," she says, and curls up in the trunk, her eyes big as she stares up at you. "Th-thanks," she says.

"Please. You can call me Jacob," you say, as you shut the trunk. You see a nervous smile appear on her lips as you do so, a flush to her cheeks. Then you get in the front seat and start driving. The drive to Lumina Solar isn't very long - rural roads and short distance - but it's still nerve wracking, considering the place you're headed to.

Partway there, you spot a car some distance behind you. It looks an awful lot like the one that came by your house, and it's gaining pretty fast, the driver reckless in his attempts to catch up with you. You put on the gas yourself, but you bought this car for fuel efficiency and ease of maintenance, not speed. Soon enough, he's practically bumper to bumper with you, honking menacingly.

You turn on your signal, flashing your brakes and slowing down on the side of the road. The other car follows suit, the man in the passenger seat exiting the vehicle and coming around, looking in your back seat and passenger seat first. Your metallic fingers wrap around the pistol in your waistband as you wait for the man to reach your door. He leans forward, tapping it with a knuckle, and you roll down the window. You recognize him as the man with the electronic device from earlier. "Where you headed, soldier?" There's a cock-eyed grin in his expression that makes you want to blow his brains out.

"Lumina Solar," you admit. It is the truth, and it's pretty obvious.

"Might I inquire as to why?"

You shrug, then wince, your fingers wrapping around your right shoulder. "Joint ache," you lie. "Right up on the place where alloy meats flesh, you ever had that?"

"Nope. Sounds like a bitch. Look, you mind opening the trunk? Worried there might be something in there, and I'd like for you to help easy my worries."

"Oh, sure," you say, your fingers calm. You press the 'open trunk' button, but not so hard that it actually activates. He smiles and heads back around the vehicle, getting to the trunk. The moment he gets to the trunk, you hit a button that opens the back seat, flipping the rows upwards. "Get out," you hiss at Sandra. She scrambles out, and you close the back seat bit up, quickly. She hides in the seat well, pulling a blanket over herself.

"Trunk's not opening," the man calls out.

"Sorry," you say, this time actually pressing the button as the back seat slides closed. "That better?" He looks it over, obviously disappointed.

"Dammit," he cusses, and he closes the back seat. "Well, sorry to bother you," he says, stepping back towards the car, shaking his head as he goes. You wait for them to drive away - in the direction of San Perlita - before you do anything further.

You reach into the back seat, pulling the blanket off of Sandra, who looks absolutely terrified, her eyes clearly showing an emotional connection to you that she's clinging to for dear life. "It's going to be okay," you reaffirm her. "They didn't spot you, and they left. We're even safer than we were before. Alright?"

Sandra nods, tentatively, a weak smile curling up on her lips, her eyebrows creased in relief. "O-okay... Jacob," she says, tasting the word as it leaves her lips with genuine relish. You wonder whether she'll be so obviously affectionate once you're safe, or if this is just a fear response from her. You honestly have no way of knowing. "Should I get back in the trunk?"

You click the button. "Probably for the best," you say. She crawls into the trunk, and you close the back seat on her.

The remainder of the drive to Lumina Solar is peaceful, with no one bothering you again. You pull into the parking lot of Dr. Rodriguez's office, your nerves running a mile a minute. You speak to the trunk. "I'm going to go in. Should be a simple operation, not more than an hour. Stay calm, even if I don't come back right away, okay?"

"O-okay," you hear Sandra murmur, from the trunk. You take a look at the petty cash you grabbed. A normal maintenance costs $2k, this is $5k. It should be plenty enough for something as simple as turning off the monitoring systems, which you're pretty sure just requires messing with the machine's settings, and no actual physical labor.

You step into the office. It's clean and well lit. "Mr. Cassidy," says the receptionist, Elaine, a nice young kid, whose mom is an engineer on the Space Rail. She smiles as she sees you. "I didn't realize you had an appointment today."

"I don't," you admit. "This is a walk-in."

"Oh," Elaine says. She glances down at the computer. "Rodriguez is out at the moment. He should be back in an hour or so."

"It's a pretty simple job, actually," you say. Elaine smiles, brushing some of her red hair out of her eyes. "You might even be able to do it. I know this is an internship deal for you."

Her brow knits a little, but she's listening. "Okay. What is it?"

"My monitoring systems, you know, the ones that interface with the satellite? I'm... well, I'd like a bit more privacy than they currently afford. Is there any way you can turn them off? It's just a software thing, after all."

Elaine's brow knits further, and she seems to stare at your arm in fascination or worry. "Hmm..." she hums in thought. "Well... I mean... it's just a software issue..." she taps her fingers on the desk, unsure of herself. "Monitoring systems is... oh, wait, it's connected to the update systems, and if those fuck up it can make the whole thing go into DRM shutdown. No, I definitely couldn't do that, sorry," she says, offering you a consoling smile. "If you're willing to wait, Dr. Rodriguez could probably do it when he gets back."

"I am," you say. "Let me just go get something from my car to read?" She nods, turning her attention back to her desk, playing some simple video game or other. Minesweeper, you'd guess, though you can't see her computer screen. You get into your vehicle before speaking to Sandra. "Hey," you say, your voice quiet.

"Hi," she whispers back. "Are you done already?"

"No, I have to wait an hour for Dr. Rodriguez to get back. When he gets here, he should be able to do it." You can hear Sandra make a little noise of acknowledgement. "It'd be weird for me to spend all the time in the car, so..."

"It's okay," Sandra says. "I'm used to it," she whispers, so low you don't think she actually intended for you to hear it.

"What do you mean by that?" You ask. There's a little sound, a gasp or something, and you guess she's surprised you heard. "That you're used to it?"

"M-my husband," Sandra starts, nervous, and you can imagine her expression, her fingers toying with each other, her eyes big and scared. "He would keep me cooped up at home most of the time. No books, no television, no games, no friends, no computers, nothing to do all day. I mean, I like to cook and clean, but if there are only two people you're doing that for, it's not something you can do all day! Our guards were instructed to have no more interaction with me than absolutely necessary. It was... really, really lonely," she admits. "But I guess it helped me get used to solitude and boredom, which is helpful right now."

You roll your tongue on the inside of your mouth, not really sure what to say. The silence stretches out, awkwardly. "Well, I promise I won't do anything like that, if you wind up sticking with me."

Sandra makes a muted noise with her throat in acknowledgement. "Thank you..." she mumbles out, uncertainly. "I- I guess I should say, my husband is Alexander Kovacs, on the board of directors of NovaTech. I just..." she trails off. "Thank you. I promise I'll be good for you. Just take care of me, okay?"

You settle into your seat, leaning back, turning up the air conditioner, and clicking the radio on, to cover up your conversation. "Sure thing," you say. "You want to talk? I mean, instead of just sitting in here, alone?"

"Okay. What do you want to talk about?"

"I don't know," you admit, glancing briefly at your watch. An hour out. You wipe at your eyes. "Where do you see yourself, a year out?" You try.

There's a pause from her. "I... I don't... where do you want me to be, a year out?"

"I'm not asking where I want you to be," you say, pointedly. Sandra goes quiet, for a very long time. "I guess it's weird, to think about a year in the future, when you're only two years old." Sandra gives a little laugh. "But really, if everything goes well, where do you want to be?"

"I... I want to have a husband who... you know..." she trails off. Your earlier conversations about men and women must have made her feel a bit reluctant to give you the full description.

You have to pry it out of her. "Come on. Tell me. Promise I won't get mad."

"I want to have a husband who takes care of me, and protects me, and gives me direction," she offers. She keeps explaining, more and more, about her exact desires, and it's not particularly surprising. She wants a big strong man to tell her what to do, she wants to have a lot of babies with said big strong man, she wants to make food for him and clean up after him and at some point the list of all the things she wants to do with her hypothetical husband turns into a list of things she thinks might appeal to you.

It's like Sandra's entire idea of her identity is built around having a man. Which it probably is.

"...if he liked to shoot, then I'd learn so that I could go out with him, and we could go shooting together, and he could show me off. Unless he wanted to be alone when he was shooting, of course, then I'd-"

"Sandra," you say, cutting her off. She goes silent instantly. "You do realize that the reason you think these things is because you have basically been brainwashed since birth to think them, right?" There's a pause. "I mean, you can't normally raise somebody in two years. They have to specially target all that learning. This is something they did to you."

Sandra is quiet for a little while, then speaks. "W-well, what does it matter? I mean... if I loved Alexander, would you be saying that? Or would you be saying, oh, how sweet, what a nice couple? That's what everybody said when I pretended to love him."

"You don't love Alexander," you point out.

"That's not the point!" She sounds childish and frustrated. "This is me! There's no... there's no secret other Sandra who doesn't think like this! This is the real me." Her voice is petulant. There's an awkward silence, which she breaks before you. "S-sorry Jacob," she murmurs. "Please don't be angry with me."

"I'm not angry with you," you say, with a long sigh. "Do you see how you look? You stand up for yourself and your immediate response is worry that I'm going to be angry with you."

"I-I don't really know what you think of me, and you're all I have, and I'm on the run from my husband, so of course I'm scared that you won't help me any more." You can practically hear the tears forming in her eyes.

"Look. Sandra." You pause, trying to think of something to reassure her. "I promise to keep you for as long as you want me to," you say, at last. "Alright?"

"R-really?" Her voice is so hopeful, so needy.

"Really," you say.

"Thank you," she says, her voice soft, alluring. "You have no idea how much that means to me."

You start flicking the radio through channels, giving each a little while (unless it's on commercials). "Tell me what you like, Sandra."

She's very tentative at first, obviously trying to prod you for a signal as to which ones you like, but when that fails, she finally starts to pick them out for real. Her choices are rather banal, honestly: pop song, pop song, cheery pop song, pop song. She hardly pays attention to the lyrics at all, so the ones about deep and abiding love, the ones about bad break ups, and the ones about being alone, all get just as much approval. After you get a good sense of it, you leave on a "Top 10" station that plays nothing but trashy pop songs, and start to talk.

"So. What kind of weather do you like? Snowy, warm, humid?"

"I- I guess... I don't know. I like it when it's not raining. I don't like getting water in my clothes or my shoes."

Dragging every bit of information out of her is a Herculean effort. She doesn't know. She's never tried. What do you like? There's this almost ridiculous degree to which she is willing to contort herself, her desires, her preferences, to her man's, and it's honestly a little scary. You're pretty sure it's not attachment per se; if you dumped her, she'd find some other guy and do the same thing with him. At least, that's the impression you get.

You spot Rodriguez's car pull up into the parking lot, and you turn off the radio. "I'm going inside, okay?"

"Okay," Sandra says from the trunk.

"Shouldn't be long," you add, turning off the car and quickly walking after Dr. Rodriguez. "I need a quick thing done," you say to him, giving him the gist of it.

"What's the rush?"

>The 'rush' is none of his business!

"Feeling a bit paranoid," you say, truthfully. "Yesterday, a bunch of KAX bikers came to my front door, tried to start trouble," you say, again, truthfully. "Worried that it might be a problem with these," you say, slapping your cybernetic arm. "Can't think of any other way they could have found me." A total lie.

He looks you over. "It's very difficult for an unauthorized user to gain access to that sort of information..." he says, pointedly.

"Still," you say. "Better safe than sorry."

He strums his fingers. "Do you have the money up front? It'll be $500 per part, and there's six parts with monitoring systems, so-" you cut him off by taking out the wad of $5k, counting out $3,000, and giving it to him. "Hrm," he says. He's obviously at least a little suspicious, but that's a good chunk of money for the job. "Alright. Step inside."

The process itself is pretty simple. You sit in a chair, he cracks open some paneling, puts in a couple wires, and types on his computer for a minute or so. The eyes are obnoxious, as he has to physically pull them out from their sockets, which makes your brain flip out, working on autopilot and based on expectations of a fleshy eyeball. It takes a lot longer to calm yourself enough that you don't jerk away from him automatically.

Finally, he's done, and your monitoring systems are all disabled. "That should do it," he says, offering you a smile, clapping you on the shoulder. "Now, I've got an appointment in..." he looks at his watch, "ten minutes, so get out."

You do, getting back in your car and turning it on, tuning the radio to pop so that Sandra can listen to something she enjoys, at least.

What are the laws on vat-grown people anyway? Do they have any rights? Apparently, marriage is fine with them, so they are legally able to do some stuff at least.

If word got out that she left because her husband was abusive, that would be a huge blow to the public image, even if legally she couldn't do shit. "Okay. We're headed to the bank to make a big withdrawal," you say, as you pull out. "Should be enough money to build a new life in there. I spent seventeen years earning money and not spending it, so there's a lot. Everything's going to be fine from here on out, Sandra."

"Okay," she says. She's quiet as she says it, like she's not quite sure what you're looking for. "Thank you, Jacob. I promise to be a good wife for you."

You snort. "Give it a rest, Sandra," you say.

"I don't know what else to say..." she says, almost sulkily. "I do want to pay you back, and it's the only way I know how."

"Well, just say thanks. There's plenty of time to pay me back, and plenty of ways to do it besides being a wife." She makes a little noise of agreement, and you pull into the parking lot of the LSC Bank. "Should be pretty quick, just stay here." The only problem with the LSC Bank is that it's a subsidiary of NovaTech, and if they've flagged you (say, because you live at Sandra's last known location and just disabled your monitoring system), then there could be all kinds of trouble. Still, you should be able to get out of it okay.

You stride up to the teller. "I'd like to make a withdrawal," you say, taking out your card. "Everything, into cash." She looks at you briefly, then your card, sliding it through the reader.

"There are thirteen million dollars US on this card, sir. Are you sure you want to withdraw all of it?"

"Yes," you say.

"Thumbprint and ID, please." You slide out a driver's license and press your thumb to the little pad she pushes out. After a few seconds, she pauses, looking at your hand. "Oh. Sorry, sir. For individuals with prosthetic or cybernetic hands, we require a ret..." she looks up at your cybernetic eyes. "Please hold one moment." She clicks several times. "According to this, I'm going to need some DNA," she says, going through drawers before she produces a small device and a container of cotton swabs. "Please open your mouth."

>(1/2)
>>
You do, she swabs it, puts it down, and then smiles. "Your DNA profile is a match, and this profile picture corresponds to the US national database," she says, with an easy smile. "Please wait while we prepare your money."

It takes surprisingly little time, just a few minutes, though they're pretty anxiety filled. Then she slides the briefcase with the money over to you.

"Have a nice day," she says.

"You too," you say, before getting into the car. "We've got the money," you say, the container of cash placed in the well of the passenger's side seat. "Now it's just a matter of deciding where to go and how to get there."

"I... I don't really know anything about that kind of thing," Sandra says.

"I know. I'll handle it."

You start driving, far away from San Perlita and Lumina Solar alike. "We're going to go to Japan," you say, at last. "I have a friend who can fake us up IDs that will work well enough to get us over the border. A white couple in Japan will stick out, but not by that large of a margin, and it's a nice place to live. NovaTech shouldn't be able to find us there."

"Okay," Sandra says, her voice sounding scared from the trunk. "I trust you."

* * *

>One Month Later...

Being that you don't want all of your money to be frittered away on an extremely expensive and extremely small apartment, you did the wise thing and chose to live in one of the areas of Japan that are not made up of nothing but urban sprawl.

It's a smaller town, near the coast, something a bit like San Perlita in its own way. Your grasp of Japanese is minimal, but with some Pimsleur and a lot of work, you've managed to get up to basic conversation. Sandra has learned it a lot quicker, and is already capable of fairly conversation, which is especially annoying since she spends most of her days at home. She's a very... submissive woman, always waiting on you hand and foot when given the slightest opportunity to do so.

At least she's started reading in her spare time. Of course, her stated reason for preferring reading is "I can just remember the page and close the book if you need me, so you don't have to worry about interrupting." Still. Progress, right?

>Encourage her to branch out further. Get her stuff to do all day.
>Try to get her to socialize more. Invite some of the local community members over for dinner. Hostessing is something she seems inclined towards.
>Fuck it. She likes it, and you get to stick your dick in a hot woman. You can't complain that much.
>Write-in.

Look, it's not my fault you guys never voted to solve your problems with violence.

Anyway, give it a little bit.

"Sandra," you say, and she twists in place at the counter, her apron clinging pretty tightly to the dress that barely covers her butt. You're pretty sure she picked it out solely because she saw how you looked at her in it. "You need to branch out more. I'm going to the bookstore and I'm going to pick out some new books for you. I expect you to read them and tell me which ones you liked best." You find it's much easier to accomplish this stuff when you make it an order rather than a request or a suggestion. If it's a request or a suggestion for her to do something for herself, then she'll be incredibly resistant to actually fucking doing it, and instead focus on waiting on you hand and foot. If it's an order, she follows through like you were her drill sergeant.

"Sure thing, Jacob," she says, smiling at you. "Your wish is my command," she adds, as she turns her attention back to meal preparation.

You leave, driving to the nearest bookstore and picking up a couple dozen new books for her. Science fiction, romance, mystery, fantasy, young adult, autobiographies, history... you get a little bit of everything. She deserves to have interests besides serving you and making you happy and being a diligent little housewife.

When you get home, the food is ready, and she sets it out in front of you. A big old handmade pizza, which she cuts the first slice out of... and gives to you. Only then does she start to serve herself. When the two of you finish, she winds up coming over to you. "Jacob..." she murmurs, her voice sultry, her thighs on your lap. "Would you like some desert?" She's got this almost mischievous glint in her eye as her fingers trace the outline of your cock.

You studiously ignore her best efforts, acting as though you were completely unaware of her implications. "Read at least one of those books," you say, gesturing to the pile on the couch. "Cover to cover. Then we'll have 'desert,'" you add. Best to incentivize good behavior, at least.

She picks up the smallest of the books - no surprise there - a jokebook, and quickly starts to turn the pages, flipping through them with a diligent speed. Her occasional smile, chuckle, or guffaw suggests she really is reading it, though, and she doesn't even cast a sidelong glance in your direction. Such distractions would mean it would take longer for her to finish, you guess. You decide to start cleaning the table, and you can see the tension in her body as she recognizes the sounds, but doesn't do anything, just pursing her lips and furrowing her brow and reading faster. You're intruding on her territory.

She finishes it in just under an hour, and then there's no stopping her. She practically shoves you to the bed, hurriedly undoing both of your clothes with a frantic quickness. The sex is as amazing as you expected based on that first blowjob she gave you, back in San Perlita. She's an incredibly giving woman, and yet, every time you fuck her, you feel like the most incredible lover in the world; she's probably come somewhere around ten times to every one time you have, she's that sensitive.

When she finishes this time, you lie on the bed, caked in sweat. She's naked and lying next to you, staring into your eyes, her fingers gently caressing your cheek. She kisses you, smiling. "I'm very lucky to have gotten a man as thoughtful as you," she whispers, the sound of her voice tickling your ear.

>Fuck her again.
>Tell her to go read another book and when she's finished you'll go another round.
>Ask her if there's anything she'd be interested in outside of the house. Beach? A movie? A dinner date?
>Write-in.

If our friends can smuggle a cyborg mercenary and a sexy sexy toddler into Japan I'm sure they can at least get us a gun or twelve. Or we can undergo rigorous testing, spend 90 fucktillion yen and get a shotgun license.

"Is there anything you would like to do outside the house?" You turn your attention to her, cool metal stroking warm flesh softly as you brush her long, blonde hair to the side. "Go to the beach, a movie, a dinner date, hiking, stop me if you hear something you like..."

"Sorry," she says. "I don't know... I think a dinner date would remind me too much of Alexander. I guess... the beach? Would you be able to swim, with these?" Her fingers caress the cold alloy of your cybernetic limbs.

"Yeah. They're waterproof and lightweight. I mean, I'll have to put on a layer of finish so as to minimize wear and tear, but it's fine otherwise."

* * *

The beach is lovely, and playing with Sandra in the water is simply a delight. The sand turns into saltwater a few meters from where you're lying, and Sandra is in a gorgeous two-piece swimsuit. She sits by your side on your towel, cuddled up next to you, while you play with her still-wet hair. "You almost won," you say to her, earning a giggle on her part. "No, really."

"Oh, please," she says. "You were just letting me off easy."

"No, I'm serious. Come on. Let's do it again," you say, standing up, and she follows after you.

After a few steps, she stops, her fingers digging into your shoulder, her weight starting to balance on you. "J-Jacob," she stammers, "I, I don't feel..." her legs shake beneath her, "good." She collapses, and you just barely manage to grab her before she falls to the ground altogether. She's gasping for breath and convulsing in your grasp, every muscle flipping out, choking sounds coming from her throat as she tries and fails to speak. Her eyes are wide and filled with incoherent terror as they stare into yours.
