...What? She's scared of you? Why? whatever, you don't have time for this, you move behind her, towards the knots that are keeping her tied up, "Thank the gods you aren't as hurt as Ergon was when I found him, are you alright? The didn't do anything to you did they? Heh, I guess our training actually paid off." as the knots keeping her in place come undone, she dives forward, grabbing her boar spear and spinning to face you, holding it out in front of herself as though she expects you to attack her, her eyes are full of fear, and she starts backing away. You feel a pain build in your chest.

>>40649060
That lying bitch! Why does she keep trying to take your friends away from you! First she was willing to let Ergon die, and now she's trying to take Jasmine from you! You raise your hands, speaking slowly and calmly, but you can't stop the pleading tone from entering into your voice.

"Jasmine, please... I know this looks bad, but it's still me, Avistus. When the bandits attacked, I couldn't stop worrying about both you and Ergon. Something happened to me, but it gave me the power to save Ergon! And it gave me the ability you rescue you. Ergon will be back in a few minutes. Please, Jasmine, when he gets back, let him and I explain everything." Jasmine's eyes are full of indecision, for several seconds she simply stands there, her spear tip wavering, an unseen battle waging behind her eyes. Eventually, her spear sinks towards the ground, her stance growing more relaxed It's at this point that Ergon comes walking back into the clearing, leading the horse with Karin on it behind him, for a brief second he freezes as he sees the spear pointed at you, something flashing behind his eyes, then he seems to relax and approach's slowly.
>So, how the ever-loving FUCK are you going to explain all this shit to Jasmine.

I didn't want to believe it, I thought that, maybe, they had some kind of plan. Maybe, there was something important at stake here."

>"Then I saw the river beneath our shrines, the wooden boat roped to a small dock. It was filled with GOLD, Jasmine. Gold and treasures the likes of which I'd never seen before. For all the vows of poverty taken...those old men had been hoarding precious metals like so many dragons in the tales I heard as a boy."

>"Please, try to understand. I was furious, Jasmine. I was livid. I cut the rope holding the boat to the mooring. I thought, that if these are truly the champions of the goddess, then she would protect them as she saw fit. They barreled down the raging river. I did not see what became of them."

>"The drill instructor, he turned his sword on me. And you know what he said? Not 'How dare you betray your teachers!' or 'Why would you wound your goddess so?'"

>"He said, "We could have lived in luxury the rest of our lives on that gold!"

>"When I returned to the yard I cut through two more bandits, I found Ergon bleeding out in the grass. The slash across his chest...it was mortal, Jasmine. I couldn't believe what was happening. I made to Lay on Hands, I called on the goddess for her mercy, that we may restore the order together."

>"And she was silent. She was willing to let him die. All for being courageous enough to fight for the lives of both the novices and himself. That sacrifice...is it not the holiest of all things? And she denied me the right to bring him back, that he may serve once more in her name."

>Write In, Story Time
So no shit there I was going down the temple's secret entrence, when low and behold, those cowardly old men were sitting in boats FILLED with trease like you've never seen, the things they told us they donated to the poor, horded for their own selfish gain.

I will not lie, I killed them, struck their boats mooring with my hammer and let the rever wash them away in it's rapids, along with their precious gold. You know what our instuctor said to me then? All he could think of was living it up like kings and how I was a fool for thowing away all of their loot. I crushed his skull on my shield.

Then I was racing back out of the temple, only to find ergon bleeding our in the temple square, bandit corpses all around. I tried to heal him with my magic by the goddess abandened me in my time of need. But other beings reached for me then, and I heard their voices, and with their strength I bond Ergon's soul to my own and raised him back to life.

The rest you know, Ergon told me the bandits stole you away so we raced here to free you.
>>
>>40649723
Yeah sure.
>>
>>40649740

Done.
>>
>>40649490

Jasmine the elders had you and Ergon stay and fight the bandits right and they had me come with to help defend the elders?

It was a lie, it was all a lie. <get weepy> They had me follow them to a hidden passage, behind the lady's statue! It lead to an underground river and the elders were on a large boat, heaping with gold and silver. It was maddness! They wanted me to guard the passage so they could escape! After years of teaching us poverty and piety it was all a lie!
<overcome with emotion hug Jasmine and weep>

There was an accident, the rope slipped it's mooring and the elders and their dishonest riches broke free and were swept away. The [instructor] tried to blame me, and attacked me! I stunned him and escaped.

Then I found Ergon bloodied and dying. I don't know who I prayed to but it wasn't the lady who answered. She abandoned us in our time of need. She abandoned you and let bandits take you from us.

It was only with the aid of the ones who answered my prayers was I able to save you and Ergon.

Come with us back to the [monastary?] I'll prove everything to you.

no, i get the feeling that the dice would just either go either really high or really low either way. making it more likely to just screw us over.

i guess extend dice if the write in's are really good?

>>
>>40649880
huh? oh no you passed the DC either way.
>>40649891
I'd extend it out to five, and the amount I lower it depends on the write-ins, in this case I lowere it from a DC 90 to a DC 70
>>
>>40649849
your choice. You could try them both out and decide which one you like better.
>>
>>40649917
I like this solution as the GM can find out how well each option works for the difficulty he desires.
>>
>>40649793
so yeah, thanks to the write-ins this passes the lowered DC, without the write-in it would've been a DC 90.
writing
>>
>>40649849
I think that, it's always good to declare these things before we roll, so there's no metagaming going on.

On that note, if you could find a way to make both of those systems work when involing writins, or give us the option to choose either or when rolling, I'd be happy with that OP.
>>
>>40649915
oh, well in that case, in the example and only this example of when we have great writins, I'd be fine doing both of those, it doesn't seem too broken since we're making a very compelling argument.

But of course the decision on that ultimately rests with you Eclipse, I'm happy either way.
>>
Would a mathematical analysis of the probabilities of the two options help your decision?
>>
>>40649915
>>40649951

All good then. I'll go with whatever everyone else wants to do?
>>
>>40649490
Okay, how do you do this. Well... might as well just tell her everything really. You go to start talking, and find it's actually a good deal harder than you thought it would be, for some time you simply can't get the words to form, eventually you manage to begin. "Jasmine, do remember in the cathedral? How the elders told you two to go help with the defense, and told me to stay behind?" Jasmine nods her head slowly, her eyes still filled with indecision, you continue, "They wanted me to... to help them escape." Jasmines eyes flash, and she grips the shaft of her boar spear, raising it from the ground and pointing it towards you again, ergon tenses again, his hand flexing as though from a muscle twitch, you hurriedly continue "I panicked for a second back there, when the drill instructor sent you and Ergon out to defend the novices. I wanted to go with you, I couldn't understand why the whitebeards would flee and leave one hundred children, and my two best friends, to their deaths. I didn't want to believe it, I thought that, maybe, they had some kind of plan. Maybe, there was something important at stake here. Then I saw the river beneath our shrines, the wooden boat roped to a small dock. It was filled with GOLD, Jasmine. Gold and treasures the likes of which I'd never seen before. For all the vows of poverty taken...those old men had been hoarding precious metals like so many dragons in the tales I heard as a boy." Jasmine takes a step back, looking as if you'd slapped her, "Please, try to understand. I was furious, Jasmine. I was livid. I cut the rope holding the boat to the mooring. I thought, that if these are truly the champions of the goddess, then she would protect them as she saw fit. They barreled down the raging river. I did not see what became of them. The drill instructor, he turned his sword on me. And you know what he said? Not 'How dare you betray your teachers!' or 'Why would you wound your goddess so?'"
cont.
>>
>>40650199
"He said, "We could have lived in luxury the rest of our lives on that gold!" Jasmine's jaw works furiously looking as though she wants to argue with, but can't. You continue

"He really thought that I would let my two best friends suffer and die, just to live in the lavish company of the whitebeards. He really thought that the vows we swore mattered as little to me as they did to him. I struck him down, then. Beat him until the light left his eyes. But it was hard for me to believe, then, that any light had departed the man at all. He expected me to leave you, to leave Ergon. Like you were motes of dust in the eyes of our goddess." The confusion in Jasmine's eyes grow more pronounced, her spear-blade sinking towards the earth again,

"When I returned to the yard I cut through two more bandits, I found Ergon bleeding out in the grass. The slash across his chest...it was mortal, Jasmine. I couldn't believe what was happening. I went to use Lay on Hands, I called on the goddess for her mercy, that we may restore the order together. And she was silent. She was willing to let him die. All for being courageous enough to fight for the lives of both the novices and himself. That sacrifice...is it not the holiest of all things? And she denied me the right to bring him back, that he may serve once more in her name." Jasmine's spear slips out of her hands, falling to the grass with a dull clatter,

"But there were other voices. And they heard my pleas. They saw my friend broken before me, and they answered with nothing less than a thundering reply. Our souls intertwined, somehow, as I made to bring him back. I don't know how...or why, even, the effects were so pronounced. But then I received Ergon's perception, his memories, and he received mine. We've seen the truth, Jasmine. We've seen it together." Jasmine looks so lost, confused, helpless, she sinks to her knees in the grass, staring into the air

Jasmine POV

No...no. That can't be true...it can't...she wouldn't lie...but neither would Avi, or Ergon, not to me they wouldn't...he's so mad, so angry...it's in his voice...but, he feels so betrayed too...he wouldn't feel like that...not unless it really was true...but the spell...it read him as evil...

"She lies." a voice like silk seems to emerge from the darkness around you, worming it's way into your ear. "She lied to him, and now she's lying to you, she want's him dead, and who better to do it than you? You can see it can't you? she's twisting the spell, this is them, Avi, Ergon, your friends, the only ones who ever cared, all that money, the elders could have used it to fix your voice, but they never cared did they? Avi and Ergon were the only two who ever cared, to everyone else you were always just the poor little mute girl." Yes... that's right. They were always the only ones who would treat you as a friend, an equal, everybody else just ignored you, how could he be lying he wouldn't be lying, he just wouldn't.

"You see?" whispers the voice, it's silken tones coming from everywhere and nowhere at once "She's abandoned you all, she knows you won't fall for her tricks, and now she's left you. reach out to her, see for yourself." You can't help it, you have to know, you reach out, waiting to feel the lady's golden light envelope you...There is nothing. a void. emptiness.

"See? She's left you, just like she left your friends, but there are others, oh yes there are others, they helped your friend save Ergon, and they can help you, you always were pushing yourself, never wanting to be the weak one, always wanting to be useful. They can help you you know, all you have to do is listen." You can hear them, in the blackness around you, voices, promising power.

I think it would've given a little more variance to the party if Jasmine didn't go full evil, but full evil is fine too.

Uh, do we have to roll like a Charisma save for not causing Karin to run away shitting his pants? He's now around a full-blown Blackguard that just collapsed the skull of a part-ogre, a Fallen Paladin with a demon hand, and now a freshly fallen spearmaiden whose silence is beginning to get uncomfortable.

I mean, if I was at all aligned on the good side of things, I'd be long gone. On that horse.

I suddenly love the idea of whatever god she picks giving her a new voice in the form of a fucking banshee wail.
>>
>>40650853

Goddess has to be livid. We just turned every (I think) survivor of that raid very firmly against her.

>>40650866

Oh my god. Yes. The tone of the voice depends on which god she selects as a patron. Loud, booming and crazed if the picks the flaming whip, cold and detached if she picks the goddess of death, etc.
>>

>>NO! FOR SOME REASON!
She has no reason, she will accept it after holding out till her mind clears of her womanly emotions.
>>
>>40650546
You... you shouldn't, there must be some explanation for this... then again, to be useful to your friends...the temptation is to strong, you listen, straining your ears.

The first voice is the sound of boulders crumbling into into nothing, mountains slowly eroding back into the earth, plants withering and dying, an old man, struck deaf and blind and dumb, the voice talks to you promising you power, all you have to do is ask for it.

The second voice is like feathered pillows sinking into a luxuriant bed, the voice of coins clinking together, the cries of a lover, reaching their peak, the voice whispers to you, low and slow, why should you wait to get what you want? Why should you not simply take it, you're trapped here in this mortal body, you may as well enjoy your time.

The third Is a voice of clanging chains and turning keys, offering you the might of conquest, of enslavement and the power to rule.

CHOOOOSE YOUR PATRON!

3) Rolled Jasmine's fall so hard she got to be a protege of both decay and beauty simultaneously.

The voices whirl around you, sending images into your mind, they all sound so persuasive, you cannot choose, eventually, you pick out on image among the rest, a figure in the midst of a battlefield, spinning a spear over their head in great whirling sweeps, wherever the spear pass's, the figure enemy's crumble, falling into dust an blowing away, yes. this is the power you need.

And then, a second image comes, unbidden, to your view, slinking it's way in and filling your mind, you did not call for this image, you're sure of it... did you? The image is shrouded in shadow, the details scarce, all the you can make out are three figures, two men, one with black hair, the other sandy-blond, and laying bewtween them, a woman with black short-cropped hair. You did not call for this image, your sure of it, but now it won't leave your mind, taking the two images, you weave them together "My my, what is it with you people and overachieving, I just knew I picked the right one to find me" the voice like silk whispers in the dark, there's a flash of light, and you are thrown from the darkened world, back into reality.

>just dispose of the corpses and make camp here, you drained and jasmine's unconscious
>>
>>40651876

We just cleaned out this encampment of all its former residents.

I say we make camp here. If I'm not mistaken, the sun is either setting or down already. Does our PC, or his companions, have a general sense of direction around here? Like do they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that west leads to a major city, or east leads to the coast, anything like that?

Also, we need to

>Pray to our new gods
>>
>>40651876
>just dispose of the corpses and make camp here, you drained and jasmine's unconscious

You could use whatever these bandits had. Food, drink, money. Loot, rest, and then Pray.
>>
>>40651876
Nearest town is a smoldering ruin, let her rest in the bandit tents while we loot everything of value, torch the corpses, and when she wakes, make our way back to the temple. It shall be our base of operations from now on.
>>
>>40651876
>Make for the nearest living town, it's only a day or two away
First loot the bandits and take any clothes not messed up so we can disguise ourselves as anything other than former paladins. All the weapons, not to mention the bandits other loot and possessions, should float us three until we figure out what to do.
>>
>>40651876
>Other
Make camp at the bandits encampment, have Ergon take care of Jasmine while you meditate/pray to your new gods.
>>
>>40651955

I gotta be honest, I think this is a terrible idea. There's a reason why vampires don't have slumber parties in churches, and I feel like shenanigans are gonna swarm us like flies if we try to turn the temple of our former patron goddess into a base.

Plus, if it was defensible, that party of bandits wouldn't have been able to decimate it so easily, yeah?

Let's aim higher. Get our bearings in the morning, and try to start sketching out a general gameplan for our ascent to power.

I already know what my personal goal is -

Kill the goddess who forsake us. Reshape her domain in our image. Ascend and profit.
>>
>>40651876
>>just dispose of the corpses and make camp here, you drained and jasmine's unconscious
>>
we also need to collect the gold from the elders for ... reasons.
>>
>>40651998

>>
>>40651998
>There's a reason why vampires don't have slumber parties in churches
I don't really understand you.

Well everyone was basically an initiate besides us and our two friends, the elders and instructor fled without trying to defend, i feel its more their fault for the poor defenses of the temple than the temple being a poor position for defense. Plus we should corrupt the temple to please our gods! And there lots of food with an underground water source. Oh and gold left there.
>>
>>40651955
Yeah lets stay were you found out everything was a lie and hundreds of innocent kids died the same day
>>
>>40652068
Oh well that changes things. I still want to make use of the corpses and raise them as our servants. We probably won't get a chance for all these fresh corpses again......
>>
>>40652088

This.

Well, sarcastically this.

Let's not go back there for good, and let's not go back there tonight. Get Jasmine in the tent, let her recuperate. Then check out what the fuck is going on with Ergon's hand. Then make sure Karin hasn't fallen into a state of abject shock and horror.
>>
I personally vote we don't go back to the temple proper anything soon simply because of the fucking mental trauma. Maybe go to the river itself, but not too the 100 rotting corpses of your previous associates in the halls of a goddess that abandoned us. We aren't ultra-jaded yet.
>>
be back in few minutes, feel free to discuss any future plans
>>
No, tomorrow we need to either burn or bury the bodies. We should feel somewhat obligated to do this.

Yes, I know we are a blackguard, but we have just fallen from being a paladin this would be a normal course of action.
>>
>>40652147
Huh. Now I wonder if the temple is made of wood. If it is, let's just torch the whole thing. Give the poor initiates a 'proper' burial and spit in the face of our old deity in one go.
>>
>>40652147
Nah, we have to treat the bodies.
Through a ritual of some sort.
Maybe even recycle them.

Ogre-face Mc-Bumfuck would make a great zombie.
>>
>>40652121
>>40652068
Eh I'd like to go back, perform the ritual of undeath to raise the bandit corpses, and use them to start burying our fallen brothers.

It dosn't feel right to leave them out in the open like that.

After we can clean up and loot anything else around we can sell for some gold, and follow the river to look for the temples lost gold (if we can even find any of it) then formulate a plan with Ergon and Jasmine on what to do next. That's my plan at least.

I figure we're going to make this temple as our new base for our growing blackguard order, and we decide to form or join an adventuring group to find ancient artifacts and gain the capitor to start it up.
>>
I suppose my plans for a zombie army scourging the lands for more bandits to add to our numbers are slim, so in order to speed things along I'll vote for resting here, then breaking camp for the nearest town not burnt to cinders.

>>40652147
This is also acceptable. I hate the smell of rotting flesh in summer heat.
>>
>>40652180
well, I mean when you get to some higher levels.
>>40652170
yeah, it's mostly wood.
>>
>>40652180

I thought QM said that at our current level any undead thralls we make will not last terribly long. I could be completely wrong about this.

>>40652174

He would. We should check on the possibility of this.

Mostly I just want to figure out what Ergon can do with his new hand. And then start sketching together a rough outline of what we need to start making a splash in local politics. Where would we want an IDEAL (read: future) base of operations and why? How would we go about acquiring such a thing? Are there any destinations of import near by that we can exploit? Any powerful items to go dungeon crawling for?
>>
So far we've decided for:
Raising undead.
Burying the dead.
Just leave the dam place.
Loot then leave.
And some combination for the above?

I'm for raising the bandits for to help with burying the dead, then make the bandits dig their own grave!

>>40652236
We gotta start somewhere.
>>
>>40652236
Yeah zombies made with the blessing of krona ritual won't last longer than 5 days at the most. it depends on a few things. I could've sworn I put that somewhere
>>
>>40652264
Did we talk to other initiatives or know them that much and was the temple secluded?
>>
>>40652264

Five days is longer than we need, actually.

Raise the bandits, have them bury the initiates at the temple. Then burn the temple. It's a nice mid-point between "fuck that place we need a clean start" and "honoring those who did nothing wrong to us". After that busy-work is done, we'll probably need to look to QM and figure out what interesting shit is in traveling distance to our location.

And. ERGON'S HAND.
>>
>>40652264
I think that's the first time I've heard they last for 5 days. What happens later? They turn to ash?
>>
>>40652260
you forgot to then look for the gold loot from the temple. We need a bankroll to get us started on blackguard merchant quest.

Blackguard merchant quest the only quest where our prices are to die for!... Literally
>>
>>40652312
Thought I had that under loot and leave but I guess more details would've been more clear, sorry bout that.
>>
>>40652304
pretty much yeah, the bodies can't contain the necromatic energy anymore and it eats them up, they literally collapse into thin air
Keep in mind this is quite literally the weakest necromancy spell that exists
>>
So
>See what we can retrieve from the river
>Give the initiates some funeral service
Since it's confirmed the temple is made of wood, I vote pyre.
>>
>>40652366
you planned for Blackguard Merchant quest? Very Impressive.
>>
>>40652299
Yeah I agree with this, maybe go find a gold and actually take it or trade it for food to the poor who were suppose to get them at the first place. Probably kill some scum or tyrants on our way.
First quest or if you want to count saving Jasmine as one
>>
>>40652393
We can have some of the bandit zombies dredge the underground river for us instead of risking ourselves. If anything goes wrong they sleep with the fishies not us.
>>
Alright it's lookin like
>loot the bandits
>rest here first
>use the blessing of krona to raise the bandits and bury the initiates
>burn down the cathedral
>Ask me what there is nearby that you can do.
>>
>>40652421

Too much paladin, not enough Blackguard. Honestly, I think we should just take what we need from the gold and use it to get some useful shit and lodgings once we make it to a major city.

Avarice destroyed our former order - we aren't going to just kill the whitebeards and then occupy ourselves with shiny baubles. We have a world to enslave.

Gah! you can't sleep. rolling out of your bed roll and exiting you tent, you head for the woods, a sohrt walk will probably calm your mind, besides, you have things you need to think about. A familiar silken voice sounds from your right "Finally! You would not believe how hard it was to wait until I got a good chance to talk to you! I couldn't exactly do it in front your friend, not while she was still the lady's pet, and that little kid's seen enough shit for now I think." you turn, and there, laying on the branch of a nearby tree, is the strange silver lizard creature

Forgive me if I'm not willing to use him as a phylactry just yet. The potential for his condition is seemingly endless - we can share experiences, emotions, and sensations between each other in real time regardless of distance.

>>

Just pull a "you succeed so hard you fuck up" and give the MC a direct link to what it feels like to be the Snake god. Let us ssssee through his eyes his past and how he was shaped.

Also, have it hurt like a bitch and be confusing more than anything, with as much vague foreshadowing as possible.

Maybe give us a boon from him? A one time spell to use, or defense, or get him to introduce us to our Familiar?

Dude, I was the guy posting in 1.5 about how goddamn useful that's going to be.

But we only use him as a phylactery if we die, and if we can't make other ones. At that point, how good of a General he would make is pretty pointless.

I also have no idea why you wouldn't think that we wouldn't make other ones, I can only attribute that to a natural inclination to be more focused on cocks than getting shit done.

Having a message spell and having a telepathic link are two different things. No chanting time, possible resistance to anti-magic effects, he's not able to be bribed to share the results of the message or to change it or send false messages, no mana cost, able to share memories as well as real time messages (maybe).

We actually don't know if we're telepathic or not with him either, mind.

"Your friend eeeeeh? I suppose I should have expected that...still, it is such a shame, tell you what, I'll give you a little bonus eeeeeh? a tiny little glimpse of what's in store for you. How's that sound?" The lizard thing raise's it's head letting out a series of odd guttural chirps, and everything goes black. For a brief instant, you are floating above a snowy mountaintop, dozens of goblins lie dead or dying on the ground beneath you, and at the center of the pile stands a large figure, as big as the bandit leader you fought, carrying a massive shield of iron, and a blood-covered sword as long as you are tall, and that's when you notice the truly odd thing, the man has no flesh. Trust me, once you have an inquisition you'll have something to purge.

Besides, we'll have enemies a-plenty. Other people deluded by The Lady, spies from kingdoms trying to assess our capabilities and whether or not we're a threat to them or possible allies etc.

Even other disciples of our Gods, who may serve them but only be pretending to serve us, jealous of our humble position as a favoured servant.

gnir tilts it's head, smiling it's razor-sharp teeth at you. "Blessed? Silly friend. He is Revenant, he is already blessed by both your gods. That is why Revenants are. Or, I suppose I should say, that was why Revenants were. I am going to sleep now."
"wait, how will I talk to you again?"
"Silly friend, just use the ring, unless I'm asleep."
>Item gained, the Ring of Gnir, may be used to summon Gnir, unless he's sleeping. may have other benefits.
Gnir vanishes, simply seeming to melt away into the air and become part of the fog. You trudge back to your tent, your mind whirling with questions, and as soon as you lay your head on the bedroll, you fall asleep.

it's too late for theorizing for me. my brain's half-dead at this hour.
>>
>>40654897
I so far love this quest!

Mind if i maybe possibly blatantly steal your pantheon for a potential upcoming quest of mine? Mostly kidding, if the gods get some serious detail i may include one as a cameo in my pantheon.
>>
>>40654897
He's a demon, in my opinion. If he got god-powers through us, and we're basically an archon or apostle, that would make him something kind of like a super-cultist.
>>
>>40654921
To clarify, the lizard "god" (do we even know his name? I forget) is trapped in the ring not the other 3 gods....
>>
>>40654936
Go right the fuck ahead, I would be honored.
>>40654953
The lizard thing told you to call him Gnir.
And no, the other gods are not in the ring, they're an established part of the belief system. You've never heard of a creature caclled Gnir
>>
Oh by the way, if I didn't make it clear enough, Lileran is also the goddess of lust.
>>
>>40654965
Be honest. Did you take the name off of gungnir?
>>
>>40654965
Thanks for running! Sad we couldn't get an answer on the telepathy though.

> Gnir is Ring backwards

Dude hasn't told us jack shit about himself. But we seem to amuse him, so he's possibly some sort of Loki type trickster.

Also, our dude is obviously some sort of undead dude held together by dark energies.

Remember when Eclipse said what would happen if we failed our roll to hold two gods? I REALLY don't think we should let Ergon get hit with disjunction.
>>
>>40654999
So, she really IS best waifu.
Neat.
Seriously, though, don't be too heavy handed with that arc, should it come up.
>>
>>40654999
Emergency damage measures enacted, Jasmine is going to slake her thirst on Ergons eternally rising "from the dead" scaled spiky cock now to prevent her from distracting the Anons.
>>
>>40655014
>>Gnir is ring backwards.
Well, I suppose that renders this >>40655005 moot.
>>
>>40654999
Can you throw in all the info we have on the world, gods and our friends in the pastbin as well so we can crosscheck and reference?
>>
>>40655021
Trust me I won't overplay it.
>>40655014
I will say this with complete honesty. He never once lied to you throughout the course of that whole discussion.
>>40655040
sure, it'll take a day or two though
>>40655014
> Gnir is Ring backwards
I was wondering how long It would take somebody to catch that

>>
>>40654999
Did we miss any named characters that we could have come across?

What would have happened if we went with the elders on the boat? I assume the instructor would have killed is off so they wouldn't have to share once we were no longer useful.
>>
>>40655035
refer to my description of the second image in
>>40651876
>>
>>40655076
You kinda couldn't have gone with them for the sake of the quest, but basically the instructor would have waited for them to die of old age and then murdered you.
>>
>>40655085
That was a very vague description.
I actually kind of interpreted it as the both of us standing over her, while she was unconcious on the ground through this
>>
>>40655101
>instructor would have waited for them to die of old age

Are they THAT old, or is he just THAT patient?
Inb4 its both.
>>
>>40655111
ah, shit. I left out the fact that they figures are lying on what seems to be a VERY elaborate bed.
Keep in mind this was the Lileran image
>>40655126
pretty much both yeah.
>>
>>40655085
NO. WE ARE GOING TO FUCK THE GODDESS HERSELF AND WILL SETTLE FOR NOTHING LESS.

We will make her our pet, since ours is the domain of Death and Tyranny. She will bow to our desires, and sub beneath us.

Of course, she'll probably try to constantly addict us to her so that even though she's the sub she has the true power, as most subs do (they're the ones that get to use a safe-word) and so it'll be a constant test of controlling not only her but ourself. Self-Tyranny! It's like Zen, but with a lot more stabbing.
>>
>>40655162
Again, you're a blackguard in the service of the god of tyranny and conquest, if you can find a way to make it happen, I will write you a harem. Try to keep it small though, kay?
>>
>>40655050
>I won't overplay it.
Now I find myself wanting her to have restrained herself back for years, and then one day we hear her screaming our name, and we run to her to find her making out with a pillow while fucking a dildo.
>>
>>40655184
A harem of Goddesses! Bound beneath our will, fueling our power!

I don't actually want a Harem, though. I prefer to go the Dense Shounen Protagonist box-blocking route.
>>
>>40655188
Any lewd in this quest will be fade to black.
as for putting it in a pastebin... well we'll see if we ever get to that point. no promises
>>40655202
I would like to point out that you aren't an oblivious idiot being restricted by the guys paying your author
>>
>>40655184
As I said before.
70 girls, none of which even named.
And then 4 that we actually interact with outside of dickings.
>>
>>40655050
Dude didn't lie, but he didn't really tell us much either.

I guess it's time to find a library and read up on all these Gods, and Revenants. I'm TOTALLY SURE we won't have any problems with that.
>>
>>40655224
>being restricted by the guys paying your author
Top fucking Kek.
>>
>>40655234
>Hey, yeah, how are you. I'm looking for some ancient forgotten lore. Section H? Alright, thank you so much.
>>
>>40655234
The cathedral DID have a library, granted it was a rather small one, but there were several historical texts written by monks of the lady. NONE of them contained any mention of Revenants or the age of legends/tyranny
>>
>>40655224
Nah, man, but I'm actually pretty serious about that self-tyranny thing. We don't want to just hand out our favours for nothing, nor do we want to be dependent on anyone else.

I mostly don't want to see this turn into "Murder rape" quest where we don't get anything done because we're obsessed with just killing everyone or fucking our enemies. It always goes into mind-break territory anyways and turns to shit on /tg/.

Just once, I would like to see an Evil quest where the MC has more interests than "Beat the next guy & acquire Harem".

Dr. Doom, or Magneto, for instance. Or Superman from the Injustice arc.

> Inb4 cape-shit

I'm talking about their characters, not their power-levels.
>>
>>40655283
Then we'll have to find a library run by heretics, cultists, or individual collectors.

I mean, I'm honestly not surprised our Cathedral didn't have texts about heretical gods and the monsters they created.
>>
>>40655305
Oh trust me I have plans. big plans.
kekekekekekekekekeeeee
That warforged from earlier for example.
>>
>>40655324
(Crit Anon here) Want to say, thanks for the Thread OP, This quest is definitly on my watch list, and I look forward to next thread.

Have a great day and good luck at the doctors.
>>
I honestly feel like Jasmine will end up being the one with the larger hmmm... what would it be called in that situation. Reverse-harem? Harem? Stable? Whatever you call it, I think it would be pretty cool is she was determined enough to gather a larger collection than us.
>>
Any more questions anybody?
>>40655363
thanks man, it's nothing serious, just some shots. I'm a bit of a bitch though, so yeah.
>>40655371
well, I mean. I will occasionally give you the option to play as either Jasmine or Ergon.
>>
>>40655324
When QM's chuckle like that and rub their hands together i get really interested in the shit that is gonna go down.

Yes please, imply things all over the place.
>>
>>40655395
Remember how I said that Jasmine could either be a companion or a recurring antagonist? Let's just say she's not the only one like that, and they're designed to fill roles you lack. a tanky character for example...
>>
>>40655417
...huh. not gonna lie, expected more of a reaction to that. somebody theorizing about the potential other companions for example. Is everyone asleep?
>>
>>40655381
How prevalent is Magic in this setting, how closely tied is the Church to the State, and how united is the setting? Are we in an Empire, a Republic, a Feudal Monarchy?
>>
>>40655470
about to be. Goodnight and thanks for running.
>>
>>40655470
Maybe they're asleep? Or afraid of character bloat.
>>
>>40655475
>Medium-magic setting, if you want I'll go into depth
>not that closely tied, the churchs are sort of their own independent organization, there is more than one good god after all
>The kingdom you are in is a feudal monarchy
>>
>>40655470
I was watching YouTube.
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that once we level up a bit more, Gnir is gonna be able to take on more forms, and one of which is gonna be that warforged.
>>
>>40655470
I'm actually about to go to bed, I've been in you're quests for 13h brah.

Kinda brain dead here. I assume you're forshadowing we can pick up someone in the future who's a super tank? (Like the war forged maybe?) or someone else.
>>
>>40655507
I'll go ahead and confirm that no Gnir is not the warforged. the warforged is in fact his own person.
>>
>>40655525
Damn. That would have been fucking awesome.

...wait a fucking second.
Is it the kid?
>>
>>40655544
Oh no. I've got PLANS for the kid. The warforged is a completely new character.
>>
>>40655544
No, Gnir turns the kid INTO Magical Mistress Warforged Murder Machine in an anime-esque magical girl fashion.

>>40655506
Some more depth on how Magic works would be appreciated, as well as a quick run-down on how lax the Feudal Monarchy is about evil churches.
>>
>>40655564
I really do want to see him all growed up.
I got a feeling he's gonna be either a huge badass, or an amazing spymaster.
>>
>>40655564
eclipse every time you say plans I imagine you giggling manically whist rubbing your hands together.

Also if it's okay with you I will be stealing some of your evil god lore to use as framework for an evil god for my lich to follow in a campaign i want to join.

Here, have a little bonus sidestory

Dark. stifling. That was all the beast knew. All it's life all it knew was the dark, a feeling of something pressing down on it. Trapping it in a deep hazes of sleep, keeping it from waking, restricting it from what it instinctively knew to be it's rightful roaming grounds.

Whenever it would stir, trying to wake, the stormclouds in it's mind would press in closer, dulling it's sense's and lulling it back to sleep. The beast raged at this, but it was helpless. Trapped. Suddenly, something change's, the storm clouds draw back, fleeing from the beasts mind, but it is still tired, it must gather strength. It knows this.

A voice like silk drifts through the darkness, worming it's way into the beasts ear "My my my? aren't you an interesting fellow? yeeeeeees. But you still need to sleep for a while yet, eeeeh? He's not strong enough for you yet." The beast settled into it's slumber, the storm-clouds were gone from it's mind, and now it could gain strength. it would wait, it had already waited for so long, waited to hunt beside it's master.

>>
>>40655717
...I'm sorry but I just busted my lungs laughing at the image of a massive terrifying blackguard, and his dachshund. fuckin hell. Honestly surprised no theorizing about things like what was keeping it trapped, etc.
>>
>>40655710
All I an think of is that scene from South Park where Satan's right hand man is whispering into a politicians ear, and accidentally makes him say that.
>>
>>40655746
Nah, too early for that. It could be anything from a Fey court that it stumbled into on it's rampage, or that uses it as a weapon of war enslaved to their will.

Or perhaps it is stuck in a church, revered and respected as a holy relic when in actuality the prayers offered to it by the monks keep it in check in an enforced docility.

Maybe it's the creation of a mad Wizard, messing about with genetics and whatnot, who died out long ago while leaving his greatest creation frozen on the cusp of completion, and all this time it's been waiting . . . growing.
>>
>>40655746
Oh, there's theorizing.
It's just silent.

Is it the mount you said we'd get when we leveled up, or is it our familiar?

you know, if you put in the time to find them, there are deliberate similarities between it, and other things in the thread, you guys should be able to figure it out.

I, due to the stormclouds, guess The Lady .
>>
>>40655470
I was the YES IMPLY AWAY QM guy and im not surprised that she might be the BBEG.

In fact, if she starts as an ally but has multiple instances where our choices make her stray from our ideals and becomes a rival blackguard/BBEG i would REALLY find it cool.

Bonus points if she gets waifu'd and then betrays us, then pretends to get re-waifu'd and betrays us again. DO EET, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
>>
>>40655876
...You are aware that the warforged
A: Identifies as male
B: Doesn't actually have genitals?

The light is warm, comforting, welcoming. It's always been like this when you prayed, the light filling your very soul with the most pure feeling you can imagine, giving you a sense of serenity and peace. then the voice comes, "Noble servant, I have a task to ask of you." The voice comes from everywhere and nowhere, lilting and beautiful, you know this voice. "I will do anything you ask of me my lady" you reply, honored to once again be chosen.

"There is a great evil forming, three of our number have fallen to the dark ones, and their strength is great, they are being aided by something I do not recognize, I ask of you to go froth, and destroy this evil before it grows to strong." "Yes my lady, anything for you." You come out of your trance, strapping your weapon to you hip and making for the stables, you had intended to stay at the temple for another several days, but there's no time for that now. You have a quest to complete.

I'm sorry, but I can't stop myself

I spy with my little eye, somebody who's never played dragon age.
It's a very powerful form of undead usualy borne of a sense of vengeance. They are single minded in their goal, and incredibly resilient.
At least in many settings.
Idk about OP's
>>
>>40656793
kekekekekekekekeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
you DID acomplish it using the magic of Tilarn and Krona. Make of it what you will
>>
>>40656813
Given that revenant a used to be relatively common (as compared to now) , Ergon doesn't look particularly different(see: Gnir's comment on the scales) and the two hate each other, either te scales are a coincidence, or revenant a are rare since the two had a falling out.
Perhaps they were even "married"
Wouldn't that be neat? Our decision to take two gods is the first step in reuniting an estranged couple?
>>
>>40656875
>doesn't look particularly different
That is, as compared to the previous revenants.
>>
>>40656875
Krona and Tilarn don't hate each other. In fact they've managed to work quite well together in the past to accomplish some truly impressive things. You're just not used to handling the energy of two gods at the same time.
>>
>>40656911
Pola and Lilerin are actual friends,
Krona and Tilarn are just kind of indifferent to each other, some times they work together, sometimes they dont.
>>
>>40656911
I believe you did say in the first thread that they didn't like eachother much.
But I'm too lazy to go archive digging for incidental evidence that doesn't prove much.

So... Meh.
>>
>>40656944
It way have come off like that, but what I meant was that trying to make the energy of two gods play nice with each other is pretty damn hard, and the magic tends to fight you a little. It'll go away as you get better at handling it.
>>
>>40656980
Got it.
That makes more sense.

Side note: are you using the vampire tint that a lot of mythology on Revenants includes?
