And we're back, ladies and gentlemen of 4chan! Since I forgot to archive Episode 6 of SAQ I'll summarize it here for the sake of convenience and posterity.

You are Jakdal Zul, former Nightbrother and Sith apprentice to the inscrutable Darth Greia. On the tropical oasis world of Sho'al, you were tasked with recruiting the native Force cult, the Sensari, by infiltrating their Caverns of Prophecy and uncovering a prediction to fulfill, thereby earning their trust.

To this end, you were given the service of three warriors to aid you - the Rodian Leegar, mutated clone Thirty-Seven, and the violent and moody Chiss Telza.

However, the Sith are not the only ones to come to Sho'al, and the Jedi are always ready to foil the plans of potential evildoers... yourself included.

To someone born on Dathomir, or whatever swamp Leegar came out, Sho'al's humidity is like a warm welcome home. A mist hazes the jungle, and Thirty-Seven and Telza are sweating profusely, taking drinks of water often. It seems like their welcome to this strange world is too warm. According to Greia, overt killing of the local populace will turn them against you, and a alien who dissects failures for research and amusement seems like a bad person to displease.

You plan on introducing yourself once you reach the village, but it seems that won't be the case. The first patrol you encounter is in fact several miles out - two Sho'ali natives, scaled and long-snouted. You can tell from their dress, armored with plates made from the shells of native species in accordance with exacting tradition and standards of craftsmanship, that they're Sensari: A culture apart, segregated from the 'normal' Sho'ali at birth.

Their eyes widen, and they draw their vibroswords - made of some unusual, glasslike metal.

"Name yourself and your purpose, outsiders. You approach sacred ground."

"We are Sith. We were sent here to learn what the Sensari can teach."

"We don't know what Sith are." says one - a male, in stuttery Basic.

"We don't have to." says the next, a female. "Those who stand apart from Daemi cannot walk on our soil." She turns to you. "This place holds nothing for you - no knowledge, and certainly no power. Now, outsider, you will leave."

"You no talk Sith like that." Leegar says, nodding vigorously. "Sith go where Sith go."

"I'm not familiar with this 'Daemi'. Perhaps you could introduce us?"

"Daemi is not a person, Sith. Daemi is the goddess, the speaker in the silence." On mention of the title, both make a reverent gesture. "It was she who drew the stars and planets from the foaming nothingness."

"We, the Sensari, are the ones chosen to listen to her voice." Says the female. "And no outsider has heard it - because no outsider can. The people in the central city will tell you more." She makes a sweeping gesture with her webbed hand. "You will go to the central city, and no longer seek our secrets."

You twitch, and your allies do similarly. You feel a chill down your spine and a familiar tingling in your mind - though it's obvious she underestimated you.

"No outsiders except for us." You say, your voice confident. The native is perplexed, and waves her hands again.

"Go back and leave."

"You're embarrassing yourself." you say calmly. "The Sith can also hear this 'Daemi'. We call her voice 'The Force'." Demonstratively, you lift a stone from the ground to your hand - then crush it into dust.

"An outsider... who has the gift?" says the male, astonished. He sheaths his weapons, and lapses into his native tongue, talking hastily to his partner. After a brief, heated exchange, he turns to you.

"You... you must be brought to the elders. I will take you. My waft -"

Following willingly, you let the Sensari lead you to a beaten-down trail in the jungle. The village is a construction of wood, vines, and mud - a bastion of the primitive in an otherwise modern world.

The Elders were mentioned - and their meeting place is seemingly empty: A huge, hollow tree. However, looking up you see them perched on carved seats with their bone headdresses.

"Sith, you named yourself. You are spoken of in the Red stone, engraved on the Cavern of Prophecy. You will be told what is allowed."

"The Red Stone said that from the stars you would come. One from a world of dust and blood, and another from a world of green, both vying for the right to know our sacred secrets. You will walk the Path of Ashes - we may lead you to this, but not follow. It has been spoken that there will be a sign, and the one who speaks the truth will be shown - and the Sensari's course of action will be made clear."

"Your mouths," you say, narrowing your yellow eyes. "They aren't moving in sync with your words."

"We have given you the gift of understanding. Know that it is of the providence of Daemi." The elder says imperiously.

"We must wait." Says another, its jewelry jingling with each movement of its head. "Two would be said to come. And these are but one - one in purpose. One in their darkness."

"I do not trust this - no Sensari has walked this deeply in the shadow." Says another, its hand missing.

"This shadow is of Daemi as much as the brightest light." says the chief elder. "When the next come, they will walk the path together. There will be no more debates - we can trust in our Goddess to make true on her promise of knowledge."

"I see it is your way to wait for the answers to come to you. That won't show you the truth. The Sith know that knowledge must be taken, sought out."

One elder turns to their leader. "I was wondering what a Sith is, but now I know. I remember, in my youth, I once had such energy. Perhaps they have merit."

"No - they are fools. They will see us step into the war we have felt raging throughout the galaxy, one we have taken such care to avoid." Says a woman, her face studded with piercings.

"Peace is a lie." Thirty-Seven says, looking up at them expressionlessly. "And the war has already come to you."

"You cannot speak to me like that! You have not felt the weight of the years, the deafening exaltation of Daemi's whispers - "

"You seem wise. Listen to the Jedi and they'll show you their lack of insight." The pierced woman turns to you.

"We shall see."

The Jedi are dressed in the drab robes of their order - symbols of asceticism throughout countless systems. One stands taller than the other: a young Umbaran, her hair cut short, save for the signature braid of a Padawan. The other is a Whipid, advanced in age. He radiates the sickening energy of the light side. The Sith warriors next to you shift their hands to their weapons.

"Welcome - your coming was foretold."

"We are honored, Elder." says the Jedi. "I am Holum Jakar, Master of the Jedi Order. And this is my Padawan, an apprentice - Kaitan Scen."

The padawan turns and notices you, but the Master was aware of your presence to begin with.

"You..." She draws her lightsaber from her robes, but doesn't ignite it. She turns to the Elder Council, and her Master. "How can you just stand here? These people are Sith - dangerous. You can't just let them walk around!"

"You know of the dark side of the Force, who you name Daemi. It is a path I commit to as much as the Jedi here commit to the light. Power through the suffering of others is as natural to the Shadow of Daemi as...whatever it is Jedi do. On the other hand, the Jedi's passivity has always encouraged corruption, weakness, and fragility in their Republic. They might wait for the darkness to eat itself, but their weakness is as responsible for the Empire as the strength of the Sith. As I told you earlier, it is time for action. I like this, though only two points for it are needed: one and three. We can use some of these write-ins when they ask us for clarrification.

For point one, >>40648264 >>40648020
For point two, we could reference the fall of each empire, and how the Jedi played a roll in the fall of each one.
For point three, >>40648141 >>40648287

To give it definition, "I have three counterpoints. Firstly, it is merely nature that people die when someone is in power, regardless of who holds power. Secondly, I am not denying those who die within the Empire, because to say none have ever died from the action or inaction of myself and every person I have laid eyes on is foolishness of the highest order. You might as well say you were never a child. Which brings the third point: The Jedi and their 'Ivory Tower' philosophy is as much responsible for the squalor their republic has as the Sith are for that in the Empire."
>>
>>40648366

>trying to combine these into a coherent response

"Should we seek to restrain all life and prevent all change then, Master? The Sith do not believe that men should be shackled in place, doomed to an unchanging galaxy forever. The Jedi often like to say that we are responsible for these deaths, yet how many did because the Jedi are content with the inequities of the present? How many generations have been condemned to die slow and choking deaths because the Jedi were content with the inequities of the galaxy?"

I'm actually really hoping we get some Sith Alchemy time once this mission is over so we can develop some fleshcrafting techniques.

The Dark Side tends to corrupt flesh, but what if we were more resistant to it's damaging effects?

Pretty much. Extremes are for followers and fanatics. Both are shortsighted and will stunt one in the long term.

Of course, mastering both sides of the force is also incredibly difficult. You're more likely to get a Toydarian to give you charity then do it.

I dunno. We're already choosing a kind of subtler Dark Side style so going Grey Jedi isn't impossible. Jakdal would have to get burned very badly by the Dark Side to "fall" to the Grey Jedi philosophy though.

Too much MMO, not enough Bioware/Star Wars.

So no, you're not wrong.

Like I said, I am hoping that Jakdal has time to start experimenting with body mods and bioenhancement.

Palpatine would bodyswap with clones but he would burn them out too fast - he had no control over his use of the Dark Side. We'll be smarter than that I'm sure.

I have to say that one reason I'm excited for this expansion is that I hate literally everything about Arcann. I hate his hair, I hate his piss-colored lightsaber, I hate his mask, and I hate his faction. And I'm very much looking forward to either electrocuting him or shoving my lightsaber down his stupid throat.

Also, that Twi'lek Sith they killed kind of looked like my main, except redder and with more tattoos, and it rattled me just enough that my passion was whipped up more.

"This is the natural order, Master Jedi." you say, placing a poisonous emphasis on his title. "The Sith are predators - and those Bantha you call the people of the Republic are prey, vulnerable without their Jedi shepherds. You want a Galaxy in stagnation, and the Sith want to sharpen it to a razor edge. To do that, we must rid it of weakness."

"How - how dare you!" Kaitan says, igniting her lightsaber. Leegar follows suit, drawing out his war sword, and raises it to meet her blade.

Both soon collapse however, clutching at their head as though an overwhelming noise was clouding their thoughts.

"I will have no blood spilled in the Council of Elders. The Jedi seek peace. The Sith seek conflict. The Sensari are not warriors. One, or perhaps none are worthy, but the law of Daemi is absolute. All must walk the Path of Ashes."

You turn to the Chief Elder, a smile never breaking from your face. "I never meant to disturb your traditions. Leegar was only defending himself."

Kaitan turns to her master, woozy. "It is best if you wait outside, Kaitan." her master says.

>>40651512

You start to speak, but the Jedi cuts you off. "Tell us of the Path of Ashes."

"It is a trail that runs deep into the mountains of this island, and branches and forks into many trails that lead to the same destination. It is a place of trial... and through that trial, transformation. The prophecy spoke of your two orders walking it, and one emerging. And it spoke of a sign."

"Just like the Jedi." says Master Holum at the exact moment Telza perks up and mentions that it's just like the Sith. She frowns at him, and he remains expressionless.

"Well kark you too..." Telza whispers under her breath, so that you can barely hear it.

"You will travel to the path from different entrances - all of you. You will be given guides to lead you. Stray, and you take your fate into your own hands - and fate is a slippery thing." He turns to the Whipid. "Attend to your apprentice, Jedi." He turns to you. "And ready yourself, Sith. You arrived first, spoke first - you leave first. Alone."

"I'm Sith, and I'm not alone. The Dark Side is always with me."

The way to the Path of Ashes is marked by piled stones, carved with sigils in the Sho'ali tongue. The trail is less beaten down, and in some parts indistinguishable from the Jungle itself. Your guide is the same one who lead you here. However now he's stoic, silent.

He points to two pillars, the ruins of a structure. On asking, he says it was "Made by the ones who came before, and will remain long after." He says "Travel straight between them, and you will be on the Path of Ashes. Goodbye." He says this last part with an eerie air of finality. And then, he is gone.

The Path of Ashes is not particularly ashen - in fact, it's simply proceeding uphill in the jungle, towards the peak of a central mountain that was visible to you from the moment of your arrival. Then, the jungle gives way to swamp. A familiar, misty swamp.

You wonder if Myla is your past and Telza your present, what horrible person the future will hold for you.

>>40652788

"You just saw something from your past, right? Well this is the challenge of the present."

"I think I can guess what that means." She says. She hefts her warsword, its two metal blades gleaming in the light. "These can block lightsabers, you know? Your master rediscovered the technique, and one of the Sith he trained is helping churn them out for all us chump warriors. The people they expect to go nowhere, die like beasts, and have only the passion of a foaming-mouth battle rage."

"Wait? Ha! You said I was your servant. You tortured me with Force Lightning. And I'm a Sith, like you said. I can't live with those shackles on me." She smiles wryly, and laughs a bit - a broken laugh. "I can kill you. Or I can die. But I will be free. I will be Sith." She levels her sword, the tip pointed at your chest. "And I will never again be anyone's slave."

"You're not my slave. Everyone talked tough at the Academy. You're free, and the shackles are in your mind. And to be honest, even if you fought me, you're too useful an ally to kill."

She keeps her sword pointed at you. "I don't understand! What is this... calm?"

"Calm? I'm only tolerating you at this point. You're stronger than you think. And I make you strong."

She plunges her warsword into the dirt. "Then let me prove my strength. Let me show you what being Sith means to me." She lifts her hand, and your lightsaber flies from your belt, to her hand. She ignites it. "Jakdal - I don't want what you have to offer. I can't live with the knowledge that I'm some pawn in your game." She plunges the saber into her chest, letting out a small gasp. "I... am - am Si..."

She makes a soft sound, hitting the earth. She's small in death, and seems frail.

"What is it that the Jedi say before they get killed? 'There is no death. There is the Force.' You lift your hand, attuning yourself to her dying cells - the tissue around the wound is swollen, burnt black. It appears, however, that it didn't sever any vertebrae. Rather, one lung is punctured. You'll need to roll to begin the process of repairing her.

However, I get the feeling that our Telza is actually the one facedown in the dirt right now

Her grave is a simple affair, its construction aided with the Force. Her warsword is plunged into the earth, her only memory.

"The Force shall free you." You say. Turning, you see, just past her grave, two pillars. The inscription is the same.

"Next is the future." You say to yourself idly, walking through the gate - at this point, the peak is within sight, and walking distance. And you see the mountain's true, volcanic nature. Some lava already crawls through crevices down the slope.

Kaitan's lightsaber is yellow, and her face is like cold steel. "Sith, you don't have a future."
