It's been a year since the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus, came to your world, and nearly destroyed it over a trivial argument about a pudding cup.

It's been peaceful since he left. Your daughter, a little girl you named Arturia, was born a few months ago. Not long after, Vegeta and Bulma had another child, a little girl named Bra. Nappa and Bailey had a son named Ruta, who was born a few months before your own child, and Gohan and Haya had a little girl named Pan about a month ago.

Taking care of children has put a major dent in the time you've been able to spend training. While Vegeta mostly continued business as usual, and Nappa has often been scolded by Bailey for going out and fighting instead of helping her with the kid, you, Gohan, Videl, and Haya haven't had too much time to train. You haven't gotten any weaker, but you haven't made any major increases in your strength, either.

It's a nice, sunny day, and you're outside, helping Drake and Icarus take care of the chickens. Sixteen tends to the crops not far away, and Buu does his best to help.

Videl steps out onto the porch of your house, carrying your daughter in her arms.

"Well, she's finally napping," your wife announces. "Let's hope that lasts for a little while."

You walk over to Videl, and check up on your daughter, who seems to be sleeping soundly. Videl smiles down at Arturia happily, giving you a kiss on the cheek before taking her inside to put her in her crib.

When Videl comes back out, you ask her if she has to work today.

"No," she answers. "Dad said he's fine with looking after the dojo for a while. He thinks it'll be nice for the students there to learn from "the champion who trained the champion" or something."

You've been going to work most days at Capsule Corp. Bulma has been understanding about you and Gohan needing to take care of your kids, but is also insistent that the two of you be there as often as possible. Sometimes, being top scientists at a major corporation has its drawbacks.

Still, with Instant Transmission, you're able to be back at home at a moment's notice. So, things haven't been too hard.

You notice the sky rapidly growing darker, and stormclouds rolling overhead.

"That's odd," Videl comments. "We weren't supposed to have a storm today."

"I do not believe this storm is natural," Sixteen comments, approaching you and Videl.

Not really worried about Pilaf using the balls, you head inside with Videl, lying down and taking a nap with her. The two of you enjoy the precious sleep you can get between work and caring for the baby, so it's a blissful few hours sleeping in each other's arms.

Several months later, nothing bad seems to have happened, so you're pretty sure that, whatever Pilaf used the balls for, it wasn't anything serious. Probably just money and food.

You and Videl have grown more and more used to balancing work and childcare, so it's not quite as difficult as it was before. There have been no threats to Earth since Beerus, and all has been well.

So, of course, something is bound to go wrong.

You go inside and tell Videl what's going on. She makes you promise that you'll be careful, and stays behind with the baby while you go to round up some help.

You go to Gohan first, explaining the situation to him and asking for his help. Of course, he agrees and comes along with you, as does his father. Nappa agrees similarly quickly, and comes with you after clearing it with Bailey. And Piccolo decides to come along, seeing as it's his home.

Even Vegeta agrees to come with you, though he makes it quite clear that he expects it all to be a waste of time. You and the Saiyans teleport to New Namek, finding a horrific scene.

The village you have arrived in is mostly destroyed, with dozens of dead Namekians spread all around. Soldiers of the Planet Trade Organization, far fewer than you might have expected, slaughter most of the survivors. A short, red-skinned creature emerges from one of the few structures that is still standing, carrying a Dragonball.

And, sitting in the center of the village, on a stone throne, is someone you had long thought dead.

Cooler.

"Well done," he tells his soldiers. "Only four more to go."

A smirk works its way onto his face as he turns his attention to you and your friends. "Ah, the Super Human and the Super Saiyans. You even brought a Namekian with you. Welcome, gentlemen."

A few of the soldiers look at you nervously, while the others don't seem particularly afraid. You can sense that their power is far greater than normal, with even the weakest of them being on par with Vegeta when he came to Earth.

"I had a feeling that I might be seeing you here," Cooler tells you, not getting up. "I'm glad, I wanted to do some catching up, clear the air, and maybe even work out a gentleman's agreement."

"How the hell are you alive?" you can't resist asking. "Frieza and your father aren't back too, are they?"

He chuckles. "No, my brother and father are both very much dead. They were always far too proud and foolish. They could be a threat to my plans if alive and left to their own devices. As for how I am still alive, two of my followers travelled to Earth and made use of your Dragonballs. My life has been restored, and as a way of saying thanks, I am offering you the chance to preserve your planet."

He smirks. "Simply accept my offer, then prove your sincerity by turning around and walking away right now."

You bring your fists down to your side, letting out a yell and gathering your energy. Several of Cooler's soldiers are thrown through the air like ragdolls in the face of your power. Your aura turns blue, and your power reaches its peak.

Cooler rises from his throne, knowing what you are about to do.

You rush forward, slamming your fist into Cooler's face, only to receive a fist to your gut in response. Cooler's other fist slams into the side of your head, throwing you away and sending you rolling across the ground. Cooler takes aim and begins firing beams of energy at you, but you teleport behind him, and slam your foot into the back of his skull, causing him to fall to the ground and slide forward on his face.

You fire an energy wave while Cooler is down, but he deflects it into the sky with a swing of his tail. You fire another, and he evades it by leaping into the sky, turning and looking down at you.

Not far away, Vegeta growls in frustration. "Damn it, why does Kaguya get to be the one to fight him? Why does the brat hog all of the fun battles? All of the glory?"

Cooler glances towards Vegeta with an inquisitive expression before looking back down at you.

"Your powers have grown by a significant amount," he observes. "I am glad that I pushed myself in my training. Your strength is to be admired, Super Human, but you have no chance at defeating me."

He smirks. "Consider this; I have two more transformations. You cannot possibly win."

Gohan lets out a yell, powering up into a Super Saiyan Two. Piccolo gathers his energy as well. The two warriors come to your side, prepared to help you face Cooler.

The three of you explode into the air, with you and Gohan reaching Cooler first. He manages to block the first two attacks, but soon finds himself being pummeled by you and your friend.

Gohan punches Cooler in the gut and you kick him into the sky. Piccolo fires a Special Beam Cannon that Cooler deflects at Nappa, who roars and swats it into the sky.

Cooler rapidly gathers energy, creating a massive ball of it much like the one used by Frieza on Earth. With a flick of his wrist, he sends it hurtling down towards you and Gohan.

Gohan nods, racing around the massive ball of energy as Cooler's energy seems to increase. An instant later, Cooler's energy stops climbing as Gohan kicks him away into the distance. Giving chase, Gohan kicks Cooler again, sending him crashing into the water below. Then, Cooler's energy seems to vanish.

You don't have much time to worry about that, however, as you're not having much luck stopping Cooler's attack. You push with all of your might, barely succeeding in halting it.

You can't keep this up for much longer.

A warrior named Pikkon also aided them, and stalled long enough for Goku to create a Spirit Bomb. Being in Hell, there wasn't too much energy to draw from, but, being pure energy, it damaged the wicked Janemba beyond repair. From there, it was just a matter of picking him apart.

When the battle eventually reached Cooler, he would transform into his "final form".
