You are Sol Prementus, a being of such physical and mental power that no one around you can compare to. The symbol XI is burned into your mind, and almost every night you have visions of a man in gold leading massive armies on some unknowable conquest. What these visions mean you do not have the time to discern as the present is of the utmost importance.

Over ten years ago your pod crashed on Kilionos, a shattered husk of a world where the humans live underground in massive cities. Above ground are the brutal Orks and below ground is ancient technology and feral mutants. The humans have been battered for untold millenia, unable to properly defend themselves...until you came along.

Over these ten years you have successfully made this world begin to thrive. You have united four of the known hive cities, saved thousands from Ork slave pits, slain mutant hives and singlehandedly upgraded the current technology of this city. As your physical might grew so did your mental might, and you have tracked down relics of ages past, created tactics and protocols that have increased the effectiveness of the military, and singlehandedly risen to being leader of the hives.

Currently you are not leading a recovery mission for ancient tech, slaying orks at the head of an army, or exterminating a mutant hive. At this moment you are:

Currently you are examining Sunshooter, the plasma/bolt gun that is truly special. You are quite sure it was meant to be a heavy support weapon in ages past, and used by two to three men, but you can easily wield it with just one hand. More importantly is just how extraordinary it is. The internal workings are mysterious even to a mind like yours, though you are rapidly coming to understand it. It is able to infuse any solid ammo with plasma energy and fire off a highly more effective projectile than plasma or bolt alone.

Not only that, but it has its own autorecharging internal hydrogen energy pack, allowing up to between 100 and 200 shots based on a variety of factors before it needs to recharge. Even then the recharge rate is less than five seconds, which you find is extremely faster than current plasma weaponry.

As your hands run over the articulate gun, and your eyes take in its mechanisms, your mind is also heavily at work. It attempts to unravel the nigh on arcane secrets behind the weapon, and yet it cannot fully understand. Truly, the lesser humans of the past were of great intellect and skill if they could craft something even beyond your understanding.

You decide that the best way to examine this tech, and all of the technology around you, is to do so mentally. You step back from your precious weapons and walk towards the center of the room. The smell of oil is strong in your large workshop, along with many scents and aromas you find quite mentally and physically appealing.

You reach the center most area, organized so that five different sections are around it, and you sit down and cross your legs. You close your eyes, and let your powerful mind leave its physical shell. Upon doing so you become truly surrounded by the technology on a basic and yet transcendent level, internal workings and schematics and operational status's flowing through your mind.

You silently enjoy being free of your body, but simultaneously feel the tactical risk of leaving it. Despite this you have assessed that you could quite fend for yourself without your primary consciousness inhabiting its physical shell. As such you deign that it is time to do some more...mental, activities.

Guys what if at the end of all this we sacrifice ourselves to jump start the Golden Throne, talking solemnly to Russ, he must remove all traces of us lest then enemies of the imperium learn that WE are powering the Throne.

>>
You decide that the best mental exercise at this point would be an attempt to understand your visions. You mentally begin probing your mind, pulling the most recent vision out of it and attempting to understand it. The golden figure stands at the fore of a large army of grey giants, charging with him as he attacks some obscure place. Their army is riddled with heavy fire, and yet as you watch you see that this forward assault is merely a farce. Instead there are many assaults from all sides, with the enemy forces spread thin on their battlements. As they desperately hold off a surrounding force, they are suddenly hit by overwhelming firepower from their weakest side, destroying the defensive and allowing the men to enter. As the vision fades the last thing you see are the symbols XI.

That was quite interesting and fascinating, but you wonder just what else there is to it. Obviously you are connected to these giants and the man in gold in some major way, but you are currently unable to discern how that may be so. As such you think deeply on it, probing your mind and the technological field of energy around you for answers.

As you currently still have a suitable amount of time before any other needs are to be addressed, you come to a conclusion that this is the perfect chance to examine Sunshooter. You move through the many ghostly signals and to the relic weapon, bading it to rise upon you reaching it. The disassembled parts float up in front of you, their ancient arcane secret opening for you to process and understand. You begin to reach out to the weapon when you hear a loud knock on your workshop door. Frowning, you reassemble Sunshooter before moving back to your body.

Interested you rise up from your position and move through the path to your workshop door, where outside you can sense the presence of one of your Shadows. You open the door and look down into the helmet slits of Shadow Jugen, who salutes you instantly before talking.

"Sir, the noble lord of hive house ildrin wishes to speak with you, sir." The soldier finishes speaking, and you nod to him silently. He finishes his salute and then leaves your door to move back to his station. Seems you have to deal with those pesky and annoying nobles again. They are personally a waste of time and resources, but they handle several jobs and activities that you deem worthy enough to keep them in place.

Hopefully whatever Lord Ildrin wishes to talk about isnt petty, or you may be forced to rid of obstacles to the success of the hive and its people. You grab Flamebringer and attach it to your belt, before leaving your workshop. As you walk out the door four members of the Shadow's appear, and they move at your sides in a speartip formation, with you as the tip.

You walk through the floor solely dedicated to you and your shadows, and take the elevator down to the area of House Ildrin. Upon arriving the doors open, and your greeted by the sight of none other than the noble himself. Like all nobles he is dressed in needlessly elegant and high quality clothing, a cloak around his right shoulder while the rest is covered in a mix of armor and fabric. Over his heart is the crest of house Ildrin naturally, the circular symbol giving off a slight glow as if to show it was powered by the nobility of the one wearing it.

(1/?)
>>
The nobleman gives a polite bow upon seeing you, one arm to the side in welcoming gesture. Behind him are his personal guards, men in fabric with metal plates that you can tell would do little in the way of protection against lasgun or autogun fire. The noble lord rises back up, a wry smile on his face as he looks up at you. He has deathly pale skin, as per the usual for people, and unusual dark hair that most others lack. His face has sharp features that seem to have been sculpted, and considering that he is a noble they most likely were.

"Why hello Lord Prementus, I am glad you came so soon after my request for your presence. Please, do come in and have a seat with me as we discuss...important, matters."

You can hear a hint of annoyance in his voice, carefully disguised behind layers of false respect and politeness. Whether he knows it or not you can tell he dislikes you, a feeling you return in kind considering you have dealt with the greedy noble for almost five years as of now. Looking down into his brown eyes you silently nod to him, and he turns around with a soft laugh.

"It is nice to see that my Lord is silent as always. Come with me, let us have a nice chat."

He begins walking away, through the elaborate room, and you silently follow behind him. As you walk a tingle goes through your body, telling you that there is nothing good in this. You could hear the underlying trickery in slyness in his voice, and you are already prepared to take matters into your own hands should this chat go in an unfavorable way. As you all reach one of the doors, flanked by two guards, Lord Ildrin turns back silently.

"You wouldn't mind leaving your precious shadows out here while we talk do you? I consider this a...private topic."

>Leave your shadows. You can deal with whatever comes your way

Though you would prefer for your guard to be with you, you decide that you shall indulge the nobles request. Should he be foolish enough to attempt anything you are quite sure you can handle him. Not only that, but you can have your shadows ready to kill everyone in and of this house if they are stationed out here. You keep your eyes on the noble, causing him to twitch a bit before you make a single handsign. Your men immediately step away from you and move into a number of separate guard positions.

Lord Ildrin looks between them with a wry smile that you can plainly see to be grudging respect and slight annoyance.

"Nice to see your Shadows are as well trained as ive heard. Maybe you can have them teach my men a thing or two. Alas, that shall have to wait until after we finish our discussion. After you..."

He opens the door wide enough for you and puts a hand out in a welcoming gesture. You silently walk through, crouching down a little to fit through the small entrance before arriving into a large room. The noble walks by you and over to a small chair, sitting across from a larger one.

"Come, take a seat. Surely such an esteemed guest should be comfortable as talk!"

We should become the most powerful Lord and rule the planet through legitimate means. It seems that we've been staying away from real leadership of the people but now we can change this.

You honestly do not have time for this. He either tells you what was so important as to disturb you, or you leave here immediately. You look down at the sitting man with a deep frown. In response he seems to jerk a little in fear. You affix him witha hard stare as you speak to him for the first time since your arrival, voice booming and hard.

"Talk Ildrin, I do not have time for frivolous actions."

Ildrin visibly swallows, and seems to make a face as if reconsidering his next set of words. He quickly regains his wry smile though, and looks up at you with feigned confidence. The noble crosses his legs and puts his hands on the arm rest of the chair.

"Straight to the point it seems, just how I like my friends. You see, we of house Ildren own approximately 60% of the mines here in Hive Porial. Naturally this means we provide the almost all of the resources for everything from bullets to storage tanks! So of course we are a...necessary ally to say the least..."

You already do not like where this is going. Yet you stay silent, and look down at the noble as he continues his talk. By now his voice has started to gain some confidence back, something you will swiftly crush should you choose to do so.

"...and yet there is a small problem. You see, without 100% control over the mines we will be unable to assure your army maximum efficiency in terms of weaponry and vehicles. Im sure it would be quite disappointing if you had less than top tier metals for your armor and weaponry. Not only that, but we ship most of our metal out for profits, which severely lessens the amount the hive recieves. As such I have a proposal..."

He clears his throat and stands up, smiling up at you as he begins to offer a proposition that you dont need.

"You grant house Ildren 100% control over the mines, and we will dedicate all of it solely to you and hive Porial. Not one bit shall be shipped out, and then you can ensure you have materials for all your technological needs."

Unlimited free energy from the star in the middle, hauling entire planets to be used as construction materials for planet sized floating cities in orbit of the sun where humanity can be free from the outside threats that it fears. 100% control over the mines will ruin competition and drive, thus killing efficiency. Refuse, we're going to start our own mining company.
>>
>>40398913
holy shit this.
He tells us the mining industry could work more efficiently. We agree and start our own mining company that overtakes all of the competition.
>>
>>40398873
Maybe we'll do that with teleporters later on. We build it on our own terms. Know who else stole technology? The eldar. Know who has zero clues on how their tech works? The eldar. Old Ones a shit, and so are the eldar. Trillions of perverts, and not a single technician.

Though his offer would seem perfect in the eyes of a more selfish and lesser man, you can clearly see the results. Without the massive exports from House Ildren most hives would be unable to make their own weaponry, armor, and ammunition. Those hives would also be in an increased amount of danger as they lack the necessary resources to hold off swarms of mutants and possibly Orks. Also, you can see it in his eyes he is doing this solely for the money. Were this to go through then House Ildren wouldnt just have a monopoly on metal, but a monopoly on trade. They could do whatever they wanted, as their enemies couldnt lift a finger without risking their lives.

Such greed getting in the way of progress disgust and the needs of others disgust you. You hide your disdain though, and look down at him with narrowed eyes.

"And if I disagree with your deal?"

He lets out a confident chuckle.

"Then we of house Ildren withdraw all support for your military efforts. Im sure you realize the significance of losing a major provider of resources yes?"

"You would risk progress, efficiency, and lives...for mere greed?"

You do not ask out of confusion. On the contrary you ask out of confirmation, to be sure this mere mortal really thinks he can blackmail you. In response he lets out an exxagerated gasp and makes a look of shock. Truly, he does not know who he is dealing with.

"Mere greed?! Oh no, I do this out of love for the hive, and how important it is to make sure it has only the highest quality materials. So, how does it sound?"

He might just genuinely not see the folly of his actions, no need to step on any toes or start any wars. All companies aspire to be a monopoly, but this kills companies very quickly. Economies are like flames, you musn't burn too bright or everything burns, but it always grows, and too feeble a flame has the same result as too strong of one.

I think we should just use this as an excuse to take control of everything. Leave the loyal nobles to take care of details, but remove ones like this guy and make sure all the nobles left answer to us.

>>
>>40399276
That would result in every other noble with significant holding in an industry to go underground with their own little schemes to take out the new threat that is upsetting the balance of power. It's much more important to slowly inundate ourselves into the everyday life and industry. Think Google but with a superintelligence as CEO.

Also, it makes sense. We don't do things out of greed. We do it to elevate the condition of our fellow man. And clearly, our fellow man's condition is not that great. The quickest road to well-being is power, and we can seize such easily with a well-coordinated attack.
If we even want to. We can probably offer ridiculously better service with 7% than he can with seventy.

You look down at his smirk, seeing how he thinks he has you in his trap. For most there would be no way out of this, either give him a monopoly or lose virtually all your resources. Too bad for him you are not other people. You have an entirely different plan that will result in maximum efficiency for the hive and its people. Your face is serious as you speak down to him.

"You are correct, 100% of the mines dedicated to me would be quite useful. Thank you for enlightening me to what a monpoly can do for me and the hive."

He lets out a triumphant laugh, and wide smile on his face as he believes he has succesfully cornered you and won. He claps his hands together a few times.

"Oh how joyous! We have come to an agreeme-"

"...And so I shall be taking 100% of all mining power under my control."

"You...what?"

He looks up at you with serious confusion. Ildren then puts a hand to his head and shakes it a few times.

"Excuse me I did not hear you correctly. Could you repeat that?"

"I shall take 100% control of the mines through my own actions. This way I shall ensure maximum efficiency. That is all."

You look down at him as his face goes from confused to angry in a split second.

"You cannot he serious! This is the proposition of a lifetime right here, and you tell ke your going to just takeover the mines yourself?!"

You nod, and his cheecks flush with pure anger.

"Are you mad?!"

"No, I am logical."

You then begin to turn and begin to walk away, when you hear a gun taken from its holster. Silently you turn around to see his pistol pointed at your chest. He has a face of pure rage and disbelief on his face, and looks into your eyes without fear.

"Now listen here you freak. Im going to give you one last opportunity. Take my offer, or ill kill you where you stand!"

Imagine this scene:
A lord kills the noble with a near monopoly on mining and then afterwards sets up his own mining company.
Would you want to compete against this lord?
>>
>>40399476
Scarier scene:
A lord kills the noble with a near monopoly on mining with his bare hands, and then afterwords declares himself ruler of all five hives unconditionally. He also has some of the best troops and carries a gun that destroys tanks. Would you want to deny his rule?

I feel like we should actually divide his house's mining stock to the other nobles, explaining why we cleaned out his house. I almost want to support this, but I already voted. Also, with all this new power and material wealth we're going to be acquiring soon, what say we start researching some power armor? It'd be freaking sweet to brag to the other primarchs about our armored heavy infantry division.
"Oh, dad gave you some power armor for your sons? Yeah, I was already started on that."
Psychically reactive armor pictured here. Not enhancing psychic power, defending from it.
>>
>>40399615
Null armor? might be interesting but would need some serious research into psychic phenomena and probably knowledge of the warp.

You look down at the gun, and then back up at him silently. It seems that in the name of progress he must be dealt with. At a speed beyond mortal comprehension, you pull back and then punch him. He doesnt even have a chance to realize you move before your fist smashes into his face. Flesh ruptures, bones break, and his brains and skull virtually explode outwards due to the colossal amount of force behind the punch, which had very little of your strength behind it. As his head is splattered against the wall and floor, his body still stands. It seems to not understand that it is dead, and then proceeds to fall to the floor as if in realization.

As the corrupt noble hits the floor you speak out loud, voice going directly into your soldiers Vox sets.

"You have my permission to fire."

There is no response from your shadows. Instead there is the sound of autogun and lasgun fire as your men and woman open fire on the unsuspecting guards. Meanwhile your other shadows have moved into position, and begun their systematic culling of all on this floor. The noble and his household were in the way of progress, and his greed has doomed them to death. You turn and walk out the door, walking by the corpses of guards as the sound of screams and shots reverberate through the area.

You are Sol Prementus, son of a being with goslike power. Your will is unassailable, and your wishes undeniable. Those that dare stand in the way of your progress and goals only deserve one thing, and that is death by your hands.

That's why we buddy up with Magnus. Or do some very dangerous research with how the warp effects materials, but yeah. Hopefully before the big E starts yelling about "No psychic powers in your space marine legion my son that I designed to be psychically gifted!" We can have a solution for that maybe. Or maybe it'll just be a different way for the thousand sons to come along.

Enjoyed it.

Oh, random question. Was anyone here around on /tg/ before quest treads were prevalent to testify as to why there are those that apparently hate them? Is there something that was... replaced by their presence...?

Wasnt there, but it seems to be this:

>Quest three-ten appear, with varying quality

>>40399805
I was thinking that our guards were there with us, and we were telling them to shoot the prick. I was imagining guards running for their lives and their family wondering where dad was. Grim stuff.
>>40399776
You have to remember that /tg/ was once /b/ except obsessed with warhammer, with all the good and bad that implies. Also sturgeon's law very much applies to quests most of the time. But yeah, there used to be a bit more.
Quite a bit of it, actually. Most of it was space-marine wank
Of course, there are still many epic threads today, just as there used to be in the threads of yesteryear. Browse the archives sometimes, the cream of the crop has been mostly preserved.

Lorenth/Seeker/Kraven/Zetol/Zevol/Kefka or whatever alias you want to go by because you're a little ban dodging cunt and don't even pretend to be an oldfag.

If you want to explain something do it properly.

/tg/ hates quests because of two reason.

First originally the most popular quest that started it all was a image based one called Ruby Quest and it featured furry characters, which caused a shitton of imitators all trying to capture the Ruby Quest experience, causing the board to be flooded with shitty furshit image quests, which got so bad that the mods had to ban all image based quests and their authors, they left /tg/ and formed their own image board. This is why to this day only text based quests are made.

Secondly this was a time before the catalog and even before any extensions were made for 4chan and when quest first became popular, 40-60% of the board was populated by them and because they are constantly being responded to and bumped, they hugged up all the first page space, they constantly 404'd slower niche threads that alot of fa/tg/uys liked, which caused more hatred.

I don't care if you ignore me and I don't care you think I'm an troll you are an cunt.

Actually, he's had the balls to go on this board 8 times, and made /tg/ a better place for everyone who wanted to participate. That's about 33 people, not including the people that missed this thread or might read it.
Nobody thinks you're a troll, but I speak for me when I say you're a cunt. I doubt people hold the same opinion of OP as you do, but we do have catalogs now, there is no need to be this upset.
>>
>>40400375
Want to know why I don't like the OP?

Because he/she is the most public and open book and ignorant cunt on the fucking internet.

Do you know why the mods keep banning him/her? Because they follow the fucking archives and they follow her twitters, you don't fucking tweet that you have an dynamic IP and you're going to dodge the fucking ban, this only gives them justification to ban you more. And you don't publicly, on the internet tell all your fucking followers that you're changing your names and tripcode.

Get a skype account, get your followers on there and tell them that way.

The OP is most privacy illiterate person I have ever witnessed on the internet, call me autistic but she is going get fucked by hackers sooner or later.

This is why I hate, she thinks if she closes her eyes, the world can't see her.
>>
>>40400579
I'm not seeing that, but let people manage their own accounts. He's not going to get hacked, calm down son. Maybe you are a troll, you're so mad it's hard to tell. There's no reason to be so frustrated over a guy letting people know he's GMing.
>>
>>40400980
Not that anon but I have seen QMs get their trips and twitters hacked out of spite, the first one that comes to mind is MrBones and it drove him to quit QMing.
