Your name is Thomas Cairn, and you have no clue what you jumped into. Your dad was an infamous superhero known as The Red Rider, and he showed up dead in an alley about three months ago. When you were checking out a storage unit you inherited from him, everything changed. You gained his powers, a brain able to calculate faster than light, and an uncanny affinity for machinery.

Using your powers, you were easily able to get into the world's top engineering college, Central Cosmopolis Institute. But just as you were ready to leave everything behind in your hometown, Comet City, and move on, one of your dad's "co-workers" stopped by. He had an envelope from your dad, inside was the key to a safehouse in Cosmopolis, and a letter from The Red Rider.

The letter told you many things, including the existence of the murderer, Menace, a supervillain with unknown abilities. It also led you to you dad's lab/safehouse, where you passed copies of his notes on Menace to Mr. Salvos. Mr. Salvos has appeared again, this time disguised as a groupie for the band SilverStreak.

"So when is everything going to be set up?" You won't rat him out just yet, but you KNOW that this is not coincidence. Mr. Salvos has to be a Super, and it's either Wrench or Swordsman, you narrowed it down 2 weeks ago.

"Pretty soon, the show starts in about an hour, but these lights are giving us problems, they aren't syncing with the computer that controls the timing. Don't worry, we'll have it done in time for the show." He seems as if he knows something you don't, and he seems kind of smug about it. He can only be here to, well, guess the rumors about SilverStreak are true. There has to be a Super he's helping, but why?

Mr. Salvos starts leading around an impromptu tour of backstage, you don't really pay attention, it really doesn't matter. There are a few Supers who use sonic abilities. Namely Boombox, Screamo, and Jetstreak, but the last one has more than just those powers. If a Super is in a band, he probably has sonic powers, it's ironic like that.

"...and that concludes the tour, feel free to watch the concert back here on the screen over there, when they're done playing, you might even meet SilverStreak." Wow, actually getting to meet SilverStreak, that's pretty cool, and you can probably tell who's the super by cross-referencing body types.

You take a seat in between Jen and Jeana and start talking with them about the concert, but it seems you are a little distracted by the fact that Mr. Salvos is SITTING FIVE FEET AWAY FROM YOU, why did you think that loudly? You're tweaking out man, maybe science is addictive, at least you're kind of keeping the conversation, but they can tell you're distracted.

"What's wrong Thomas? You feeling okay?" Jen seems rather concerned, is that good or bad? She is twirling her brown hair around her finger, at least your first impression was good so they don't think you are always this way.

"Yeah, just thinking about some stuff, I'm sorry." Wow, you really are on autopilot, you just apologized for thinking.

"What are you thinking about?" Jeana is trying to figure out something, she always has this look in her eyes when she tries to figure out a problem. It's kind of intimidating, she looks a bit like that chick from the Wendy's commercials, so it's a bit creepy too.

You definitely don't want to tell them about Mr. Salvos, but you are tired of lying, it hurts to lie to people a lot. Why are you lying about your powers again? Ah yes, Superhero Movies, wait no fuck, you thought you lost that train of thought back home. Maybe you should call Mom, that always helps.

"Goddammit, does he do this every time you ask a question?" Jeana sighs.

"Oh, just thinking about beautiful mind, and that train of thought led to other beautiful things." She blushed, you did it, YEAH, GODDAMMIT MORE YELLING, fuck calm down. Hooray, maybe she has a thing for flatterers, or you're just that cool. Probably the former.

"Why were you thinking about beautiful mind?" Jen seems a little confused by what just happened, and you need to cover this a bit. So you show everyone the video.

"Fuck man this shit cray!" Everyone seems to be laughing at the guy who took the video's vocabulary choices. But you look at the views again and the number is 750,000 views. You must be a small celebrity now, maybe there will be job offers later.

"How did you do that man!?" Harry says in-between laughs, he is turning red about now.

"Yeah, how did you do that?! That's like the most confusing class at the school!" Monica seems a bit less tickled by the video, but she's still smiling.

Jeana is a shade of scarlet you didn't think possible right now, between the blushing and the laughing. Maybe you'll score, that would be nice, you were a hopeless virgin in high school, but nobody in Cosmopolis knows that. HELL YEAH, NO FUCK STOP YELLING, SHIT!

Monica just sighs again.

"I just got lucky, I use that equation a lot in Nanorobotics." Nice save, you did it, now you are the cool guy! GODDAMMIT, NOW IT'S BACK TO SARCASM! Now yelling again.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PLEASE TURN OFF ALL CELL PHONES AND RECORDING DEVICES BEFORE-" All of a sudden the microphone gets caught in a massive feedback loop, and then it stops. "GOOOOOOOOOD EVENING COSMOPOLIS, I HAVE TAKEN OVER THIS FREQUENCY TO ASSURE YOU THAT SO LONG AS YOU COOPERATE, YOU WILL GO HOME SAFE TONIGHT. I AM BOOMBOX, AND I'M A LITTLE STRAPPED FOR CASH. SO PUT YOUR WALLET ON THE FLOOR AND GO HOME OR I WILL BLOW YOUR EARDRUMS OUT!"

Over all the screaming outside, you notice that Mr. Salvos is gone. "AHAHAHAHAHA, WAIT, WHO ARE YOU? AHHH-", the voice is cut off as a crash echos around the stage, on the screen, you see a man in a suit of armor beating on a large man in a stereotypical rapper outfit. Swordsman and Boombox...

"Come on, let's get out of here!" Harry is no longer laughing and seems rather scared.

"You go ahead, I need to get that groupie out of here, I'll catch up!" That answers the question of who Mr. Salvos is, now you should probably help. You're not shocked when Boombox blasts Swordsman off him, that is his power after all,

"Your funeral man!" Harry and the girls all run out the back exit. Now you have breathing room, you take out your jar of Micro-Actuators and open it up. What good press will you get when your invention helps stop a Supervillain, you are practically drooling over the thought of more money. You sneak your way to right behind the curtain and peek out.

Swordsman has drawn a massive greatsword, at least taller than you, and is swinging it at Boombox, who is blasting the ground to dodge the swings. Then Boombox blasts the sword away and gets into a wide stance, by now your Micro-actuators are scattered among the debris rather nicely so as not to be noticed.

"I GROW BORED OF THIS BATTLE, I END THIS NOW!" He seems to be charging a large boom, and he doesn't have an inside voice.

Wait...

Spread out Actuators...

Wide stance...

Not paying attention...

Should you?

Oh yeah, golden opportunities don't come often, time to do this.

"I WILL KI-" The Actuators are already bunched up under his legs and it seems he just noticed. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..." You think he just went up at least 3 octaves, oh right, these are really well-made, total force exertion on average is 50 pounds. Ouch...

Boombox is on the ground writhing in pain, so you slip an actuator into his mouth, maybe that will do... something? You didn't quite think that much into it. In an instant Swordsman is upon him, cuffing him, then gagging him so he can't use his powers. He isn't putting up much resistance, just crying on the floor. Note to self, Nanite Nut Punch hurts, a lot.

"Thank you citizen, when you have time, meet me at this address." All of a sudden he jumps into the distance. Yeah, that slip of paper he dropped has an address, but should you go now? That entire fight was recorded, and you were the only one still here, maybe you should erase that. No, wait, this is good publicity for the Micro-Actuators, you could take credit for what you did.

Look, if we had a polished product and full suit of weaponry and armor I would go public, but we're not even CLOSE to being ready for the public.

I'm not certain that would be possible. From what I can gather we are up there with Stark, Banner and Pym as far as scientific genius goes. No, that might put Mom in danger, so you quickly gather your Actuators into their jar then run to the recording setup and will it to unlock. Surprisingly, it bends to your command and opens, you must be getting better at this. Anyways, you find the file from tonight and delete it, scrubbing all traces from the system of your involvement. It doesn't take long before you run out to your friends.

"Yeah we should." Don't panic. Don't panic. You're cool right, yeah? No. Shit now you're talking to yourself.

She turns that shade of red again, you thought redhead was referring to hair. "Y-yes, we should." Wait, is she nervous too? This is weird, You should go back to the lab, stuff makes sense there. Except when you almost blow up the city, but that only happened once.

"Jeana, we're leaving, hurry up!" Stella is getting impatient, but she does that a lot. Honestly she's kind of bossy, but whatever.

"Seeya later Tom." Jeana blurts it out and runs to the car.

Well, that went better than expected, at least you think she's interested, maybe you could call her tomorrow, but you have to get home first. You don't even remember getting in your car, but you make it home before you know what happened. It's about 11PM, and Harry was going to walk from the Girl's dorm when he's done with... things. You can guess what that means. So you should probably go to bed. You collapse onto the mattress and fall into sweet dreams.

Yeah, I think the A.I. we're building is going to compensate for us in a BIG way when it comes to the business itself... So I think that needs to be a big priority. There is no Video. The Video is deleted. No proof of nanotech is linked to us.

Also, A.I. +own company is no deterrent when trying to get hired by another company.

A.I. Is essential for the business plan to show we're business minded, since it will basicly be the tool we use to solidify our business presence.

The A.I. will not hinder us in developing a plan, nor will it stop us from demonstrating to any potential employers that we're not business minded.

That said, going the route of employee might not even be what we want to go, we could go full stark and get our patents, sell our ideas and go the entrepreneur route instead

>Instability reduced to 5

>Innovation get, Nano-Limb

You spend most of your time at school coasting, just kind of thinking of ideas for stuff to build, including a limb made of Micro-Actuators, just needs to integrate with the body's nervous system somehow. Nobody seems to notice, so you get through the week just fine. You spend most of your time working on your car, finding a way to make it run on a condensed Potential Generator, which DOES WORK but took a bit more time to make. It still looks like a junker, but now it doesn't need fuel and is a lot faster. You also manage to set up and go to a date with Jeana at a jazz club, probably not a good idea considering the band was too loud to let you talk much, but she seemed to have fun when you started playing impromptu charades. You decided to call your Mom, it was mostly just her confirming that you're okay, but she says that you are going to Grandpa's for Christmas this year.

Friday afternoon, you decided to check out that address Swordsman gave you. It is, once again, in the inner city. What is it with Supers and this place, are they a part of a gang? Alone with your thoughts, you make your way to 616 Mulberry Circle and find another ratty house. Inside is a single pod containing the Swordsman's suit.

His base.
