You are Sol Prementus, son of a being with godlike power, filled with the very same energy. You landed on your homeworld Kilionos almost five years ago, a shattered planet where all those that wish to live do so in vast underground cities. Over that time you have freed thousands from foul ork slave pits, slayed hundreds of mutants in raids and attacks, and found lost technologies that have greatly benefited these lost people. Currently you are leading your elite guard, The Shadows of the Sun, on a mission to recover one last vital S.T.C that will allow Kilionos to once again produce starships...

The dead city still towers over you all, both monument to its great builders and a vast grave picked over by mutants and monsters. No sounds are made down in this vast cavern, save the careful steps of your men as you advance deeper into the city. You scan the area as you walk, listening for movement or breathing, searching for any signs of life both organic and artificial. The buildings seemed to have been cracked open in multiple areas, due to everything from ancient explosions to the claws of twisted creatures of flesh. You attempt to scan ahead with your powers for the S.T.C, your mind having grown beyond mortal limits of understanding and power, and instead only find the millions of death echoes of an ancient battle. Tactical insight seems to be the only friend you have down here...

Finding the ghostly sound of lasgun fire and explosives distasteful, you quickly begin doing logistics and estimations in you head. During the final failed defense of the city, the nobles and builders wouldve attempted to hide their precious technology. The most likely place for them to do so would be in the center of the massive hive, where they would be protected by thousands of troops. You begin walking toward the hive center, and your black cloaked shadows follow behind you silently. As you walk you see something off with your helmet. It begins going fuzzy, both the vox and the few runes used to provide details and information. You stop dead in your tracks and turn back to your shadows.

"Vox and helmet status, report." You say as you see the men clutching the sides of their heads, tapping helmets, and even taking them off to examine them. One shadow, with dark hair uncharacteristic of your brethren, shakes his head slowly.

"Nothing sir, vox down and HUD non-functional."

You grimace underneath your helmet. Something appears to be causing your systems to malfunction, and if there is one thing that displeases you its the loss of valuable tactical information and assets.

Despite such a severe loss you decide that waiting here would be a waste of time. Most likely this disruption of your technology was caused by some ancient still functioning jammer...or a recently activated one. Whatever the cause your not willing to sit around and find out thats for sure. You make the handsign to continue, and your men reattach their helmets before walking on.

The road quickly begins growing narrower as you all get closer to the city center, travelling in utter silence. The sheer amount of quiet makes a noise of its own, and you are unable to pierce it with your senses as you advance deeper and deeper into the cavern. Eventually you come upon the massive spire of the main hive building, pitted and cracked from internal explosions along its bulk. There are no doors, destroyed during the final assault by whatever attacked this place, and you can feel what could be called some sort of background noise as you reach the spire. It isnt physical though, it is psychic in nature, and you look back to see Pavel stumble a bit before perfectly righting himself. It seems your not the only one who notices it...

You begin to focus on the psychic noise in an attempt to both find its source and decipher it, but soon decide of a better tactical plan. Your mind, able to multitask on an infinite scale, focuses on Pavel and begins to communicate with him mentally. To an outside observer your still as a statue, sculpted out of some canvis of pure steel. In your mind though you walk over to your shadow, a wall of ethereal noise binding his mind, and deliver a mental tap. The wall shatters, but you keep it from harming the shadow mentally and causing him to fall in pain. His mind acknowledges you immediately, almost confused as he faces your raw mental report.

"Pavel, do you sense a way through this or where its source is?" You feel the bewilderment in his mind, and quickly calm it. Now is not the time for him to explore and ask questions. After a few minutes(in the ocean)he fully calms down and attempts to speak to you.

"No sir, just that it is deep inside the tower. Whats..."

"Questions can be saved for later soldier, and will be answered in time."

The two of you then proceed to disengage, and you look up at the massive spire silently.

Kraven, you have done a commendable job of making Prementus come to life, but if you would like some constructive criticism, I think you can stop highlighting how powerful his mind is. You seem to have stressed that quite often; by now it can be merely be a given truth, or perhaps a fact to note in times of great peril.
>>
>>40354791
Alright you got it. Also, how do you all see Prementus in terms of personality and stuff? If you worried that there isnt enough info on him, ill put that in next thread when we do whatever he does in his personal time.
>>
>>40354843
I imagine him to be slightly reclusive due to the massive gap between him and his peers. He cares about humanity as a whole but sees individuals as acceptable losses if it aids the rest of humanity. We haven't really had a chance to meet non-hostile xenos or abhumans so hard to tell on that front.

>>
>>40354925
Prementus chose each and every shadow personally, from men and women(yes there are girls, no he has not and will not waifu any of them)he saw strong of body, mind, and most importantly will. He then proceeded to train them extensively and give the, some of the best gear Kilionos had on hand. He's not the most...sociable boss as you can imagine, but due to leading them on so many successful missions and saving their lives an innumerable amount of times, they all trust him. They also know that if he needs to he wont hesitate to sacrifice one or two for the good of the group/people. Other than that(and thats only a tiny bit)they know next to nothing about their boss except for the fact he is a ten foot tall superhuman

I have been lurking all the threads and I just wanted to ramble off some thoughts I had. Feel free to ignore/tell me I'm completely stupid or wrong.

So we are the emperors will. To never give up and all that jazz. Will is a very powerful thing even more so in 40k. So I started thinking. What if we linked our pykers to ourselves, kinda like the way that imperial pskers are to the Emperor? They would benefit from our willpower and unshakeable beliefs so that they might be much harder to corrupt. I do fear that we would be much more easily corruptible through our followers though.

After a few seconds you determine the best way to go about resolving this problem. You turn to the squad, and make the hand signals at five of them for them to move into positions. Two lasgun carriers, the a plasma gun carrier, a mini-multilaser carrier, and an autogun carrier. More than enough to hold off an attack or two should there be a force of enemies. Not only that but the two heavy weapons specialist should be able to kill whatever a lasgun or autogun wont. Having received their orders they break off from the other shadows and take multiple positions that grant overwatch of the area.

With them in position you turn and walk through the blasted doors, the other shadows moving swiftly behind you. Inside of the main tower are more ruins, undisturbed over the millennia and showing signs of a struggle from ages ago. You walk forward, disturbing ash that has laid dormant for untold amounts of time, feeling the white noise growing stronger and stronger as you progress. You feel that the white noise emanates from below you, now a constant moving pulse.

You deign that heading down would be a tactical risk, especially due to the extreme danger that mutants and abhumans pose. You and your men begin heading up the spire instead, taking a large upwards spiral that you deem stable enough to move up. Your squad advances up the ramp, disturbing dust as you move to investigate the upper parts of the kilometer tall building...

And then you hear shifting above you all. So silent as to be literally unhearable by anything less than one such as you. A single speck of dust falls and lands on your armor, giving you all the proof you need of life up top. You look up with your gun raised, and see some type of spherical machines, claws digging into the top of the stairwell. Hatches spring open on their tops, and long guns spring out.

Into cover. An enemy above you has a very great tactical advantage. It is unfortunate that moving into cover can lead our shadows into a position where they are pinned but it is better than being slaughtered in the open.

>Fall back

If there is no good cover then falling back into cover is a good idea but have a few watching our backs encase the mutants get attracted to the fighting and force using into a rock and a hard place situation.

>Disable them psychically

Always a good idea to at the very least TRY to disable things to gain a tactical advantage. No such thing as overkill.

>>"SQUAD MOVE!"

Time slows down as you begin doing several things at once. First your mind reaches out to disable them temporarily, hoping that their ancient technology is susceptible to your powerful advances. Second you aim Sunshooter up at them and pull the trigger, letting out a burst of four plasma bolts. Last but not least your voice booms as it reaches your squad, shaking dust and sending it flying in all directions.

"SQUAD MOVE, FALL BACK!!!"

Your mind lashes out and reaches the ancient A.i, fulfilling their last protocol as they begin to open fire. Due to your timing you manage to disable up to ten of the guns, and your four loosed bolts explode and destroy another twenty three automated gunners. Meanwhile your squad turns and begins running back while loosing fire up at the machines. You also managed to ruin the targeting systems of the machines, something which certainly kept your men from dying in mere seconds as the dozens of robots above open fire. As your soldiers run, with you providing plasma bolt covering fire, the machines spit out lasers in the hundreds, bathing the entire rampway in green energy as they attempt to hit their targets. As your men and you run, you see two of them hit by bolts of energy, their armor barely saving their lives but causing them to stumble, and making them easy targets for the machines.

>Cease your destructive fire, turn and grab them and run down with the rest of the squad.

You move fast, your massive bulk suddenly covering up the two stumbling soldiers just in time to take a volley of shots to the chest. They fail to pierce your armor, though they do scar it, and you return a burst of explosive and devastating shells. You stay behind your men as they retreat, dropping bot after bot as more disengage themselves from the ceiling and begin walking down after you on long spindly legs in some perverse imitation of a spider.

Soon the bolts are mostly focused on you, the blast soon beginning to make way in piercing your armor as they wear away layer after powerful layer of metal.

With your squad out of range of the enemy you begin moving down. Turning away from the machines on the ceiling, you begin running down the ramp as your squad lais down covering fire, blowing machine after machine off the ceiling. As you run, bolts hitting the ground all around you, you emit one last psychic pulse. The machines temporarily cease their attacks, long enough for your group to make down the ramp and enter into cover.

Having gone out of the main area, you begin heading downwards instead. You deign that your prize may be at the bottom, and you plan on retrieving it. Even as you walk through the psychic noise the energy in your mind flares up to full power, feeling thr ancient and valuable technologies nearby. You are Sol Prementus, master of technology, son of a man with godlike power, and soon this entire world shall be yours...
