When you think about things you thought weren't a possible way for things to go, "drowning inside the interstitial spaces of a crabs guts" Was pretty up there. Pity that's whee you're at now.

You right yourself so the rapidly resealing scar tissue you entered through is below you. Above you now is a wide lumpy plane of thicker scar tissue that refuses to yield to you no matter how you gnaw and claw at it. You're pretty sure you were told there was supposed to be a crab brain on the other side of this wall. But you were also told there would be no wall, so maybe you shouldn't trust the word of talking crabs. That seems like good life advice in general.

Floating in the water for a bit you consider your options. The fold of flesh around you leaves you a decent amount of space to move around in, and after a short period of exploration you find a couple places where you might be able to carve a hole to squeeze through before the crab's healing naturally seals it up. Which it does everywhere else you've tried it. They were easy to find since each of the spots is making loads of noise.

Oh, and its all full of water so you're pretty sure you either need to do something in here or escape before you drown.

>Carve out the spot on the left. Whooshing noises on that side

>Carve out the spot that heads up, but not in the right direction for the brain. Loud thudding noise.

Feeling along the roof of the crab you find a nice pliable spot of flesh where the sound of thudding is loudest. A moment of vigorous digging later you find yourself in a long narrow and quite crowded passage leading upward. You wriggle along it, feeling the thumping grow stronger and trying to ignore what feels like a sack full of fish pressing against you.

At a guess you're crawling between the space between a stomach and some intestines, and you're not terribly keen on carving into either of those due to your long held fear of acid-related deaths. At the far end of the space between them though you find a wall similar to the one you carved through to get into this space, and you break through it with a similar amount of effort.

On the other side you find a circular room a quarter of which is dominated by a large pulsing organ at its center. That's a heart alright. The heart is fed by a large number of veins in the floor and ceiling that are high enough in the floor you could probably dig into them with little trouble. They're a fairly uniform reddish color, except for one on the left side of the room that is a disturbing black color. That black vein has a stone crab curled up into a ball on top of it.

Servicing the room are a lot of white crabs half your size seem to move in and out of the crabs flesh with impunity. They walked from veing to vein occasionally stopping to scratch it, or to plunge a little feeder into it and draw out some blood, turning their bodies temporarily red just before they disappear into a tube at the back of the room that opens to allow them passage.
[1/2]
>>
>>40244062
[2/2]
The white crabs have formed a blackened line leading from the black vein to the tube, and you see a couple of them helping a blackened comrade to the back of the room as you watch.

You watch the heart for a minute to get an idea of any weak points it might have. Thinning of the arterial wall, exposed nerves, arrhythmia. Sadly all you spot is a thick yellow-red cord that seems to have pierced through the love muscle. White crabs reach up and pull out long lenghts of it before it snaps and pulls back into the heart.

Half in and out of the walls, the white crabs are ignoring you.

This seems like a bit much to do on your rather limited air reserves. Which become more limited everytime you punch through one of... these... STUPID WALLS! You finally force your way back into the space between the larger cavities. The wall toughened up a bit after you passed through it. Stupid wall. You still manage to get through it handily and punch back out the other side.

You return to the room you entered the crab in and find a half dozen gray crabs that would come up to your knee wandering the room. They don't come up to your knee though. You're swimming, not walking.

The gray crabs are crisscrossing the spot you broke in through and spraying foam on it. As you watch the foam hardens into a shell. Probably to reinforce the scar tissue. Actually that stuff looks a lot like some crap you saw floating around the room when you came through.

To confirm this though a crab secures one of the floating bits of detritus back onto your exit and starts cementing it in place with the foam.

Your other exits appear to be ignored. Probably because they're thing fleshy walls you just claw through and let heal behind you. Though the one on the left side of the room looks... greyer? Dunno maybe you're imagining it

The greying probably means mom is poisoning whatever is on the other side. The water clarity remains normal near it but its probably best that you just avoid that area for now. You've got a safe whooshing room over here. Which hopefully means lungs. Which means air. Which means not drowning inside Crab'thulu, your body left behind to be fed on by the apparently myriad tiny crabs living inside it.

This wall is much easier to punch through and on the other side you immediately find yourself in a very wide flattened room dominated by transparent cones that are reinforced on their edges by crab chitin. The cones themselves are shot through with thousands and thousands of veins that form a net like shape over the cones. Inside you can make out a fleshy tendril that thrashes back and forth to circulate the water. You can see small sea life has imbedded itself in a few spots on the tendril. The whoosh is coming from the movement of water through the cones. We have found the gills!

Also there's a big gas bladder on top of the room connected to the gill cones in a few places. Apparently filtering a little air to fill the plump sack on the ceiling. Most of them appear fairly decrepit apparently ignored in favor of a single cable that attaches to a gill cone in particular and has swollen it up in size significantly

You consider trying to somehow tie off the sack of air but a quick investigation finds that half of the bladder's material is just the flesh lining the ceiling, making it a bit harder to make portable than just peeling it off.

You also take a look at the cable that apparently provides most of the air to the bladder and quickly see the reason for it. Inside the gill cone it's attached to you find the fleshy tendril in this cone has a sponge growing on the end of it that has largely immobilized it. Still it thrashes occasionally like it's supposed to and everytime it does the sponge releases a few bubbles, which flow up the cone and into the air bladder cable. That's interesting.

You swim up to the gas bladder and exhale the last of your air. A quick tear with the claws and you plunge your face in and inhale.

Oh god.

That's awful.

It's stale and smells like week old crab meat.

You regret everything.

You've refilled your air, but at what cost? You try to hold the bladder closed to let it heal again. After a minute you let go and then watch the bladder tears open, completely unhealed, releasing all its gathered air into the chamber with you where it immediately disappears into the surrounding tissue, which turns bright red. As the air empties out you notice the crab starts to tilt about 30 degrees.

Well, shit. At least you're full up.

You squeeze back into the main room and watch the grey crabs work for a moment. They're about half done covering your entrance. The grinding noise from below has gotten a lot louder. Then you head back to the heart room.

The massive organ remains where you left it and none of the crabs respond to your entrance. The stone crab remains studiously where it was and the black vein appears to be leaking poison into the tissue around it very slowly. It's surrounded now by white crabs and a large green crab that can't seem to figure out what to do about the vein. They've stopped wasting white crabs on it though.

Sword out, you start stabbing into and pulling into whatever arteries you can find. Your medical knowledge tells you that that's the most effective use of your attacks. Your ability to judge how you're doing though is a bit harsher. The arteries tend to be on the ceiling and more often than not deep enough that the cuts reseal themselves by vascular action alone.

Your work isn't completely overlooked though as the white crabs start letting out little "woob woob woobs" and climbing up the walls to reach you and the lines that aren't sealing quite as cleanly. The green crab sits itself down on the black vein and the stone crab immediately stands and starts climbing up to reach you itself. Somewhat slowed by its weight and unsuitability for this task.

The blade in you hand, though a bit unwieldy, is sufficient to knock the white crabs away as they come into range. Most falling harmlessly to the heart room floor, others you manage to slice properly despite the issues the sword offers and the fact swinging with force while underwater is hard.

Out of the corner of your eye you see one panicking white crab strobing red and blue colors across its shell and heading for the tunnel out. Another has found the spot you entered and burrowed into the flesh and drawn it tight. Effectively sealing the exit until that crab is dead.

>Continue fighting and stabbing whatever veins and arteries provide themselves on the ceiling

Pushing off the ceiling in a masssive leap you dive toward the strobing crab. You know someone trying to send up an alarm when you see one, and you'd reall rather it didn't. You tail whips and you cross the last bit of distance to plunge your sword deep into the crabs surprisingly pliable shell. The white crabs aren't hard at all. Probably because they need to squeeze into a lot of places. The colors on the crab die and you turn for another target.

There's a tremor through the fleshy ground you're clinging to and you see the stone crab has dropped off the wall and is still chasing you. You hear more "woob"ing from a white crab somewhere in the same cadence as the one you just killed but can't quickly pick out where it's coming from with the other crabs making noise while they try to repair the ceiling.

The best way to keep any extra crabs busy is through damage control, you decide. You launch again, this time aimed at the green crab, who fails to respond until you're on top of it. Its shell is standard crab thickness, so you'd have some difficulty getting your sword into it with your poor grip, except that you slid the blade in a soft spot. You crank your sword and stir the organs while the green crab writhes, but does an admirable job not moving from where it sits on the black vein.

It does it little good as your weight on top of it topples it off the vein and you see the color start to flow toward the heart. Then something slams into you and you spin through the water of the chamber and turn to find the stone crab standing in your place. You prepare to fight but the stone crab just slams down onto the vein and curls up into a defensive ball of rock again.

You rub your side where the crab slammed you and wince when you accidentally rub your injury from the mad torpedo dash into this stupid crab you made with Milly. You really hope she's doing alright outside. Still the stone crab is dealt with, and you just caught sight of the alarm crab, almost to the tunnel.

You look at the vein full of poison. You look at the crab and see it staring back with eyes like agates. Or possibly they are agates. Either way you get the impression it understands on whatever level its intelligence is capable just what you are about to do. It starts to rise as you stab down. Then you pull like you just caught the juiciest most delicious fish in the entire ocean on your line and it just got done insulting your mother.

Red blood flows out into the water, tinged with the black of your mom's poison. You don't linger to enjoy the site of the rock crab trying to reseal the wound. You're halfway to the door by the time the crab has responded.

The white shell of the crab sealing your way out gleams in the light of your... well you. You glow, it's your thing, and you're basically the only light source in this crab.

Lining up your sword and thrust at the crab, piercing deep into and through its soft carapace. You wait for its body to slacken in death but it just seems to sit there. Dead and holding the flesh wall tight so you can't get out.

Crap.

I told you there were only two exits in the room. One is blocked, where did you think the alarm crab was going?

Halfway to the tunnel on the other side of the room, giving the poison spewing into it the widest possible amount of space between you, you decide that this was a good idea. Clawing a crab corpse out of a wall might have taken long enough to get you killed. The fact you're halfway to your alternate exit has nothing to do with your judgement of your decision.

You reach the tunnel and hear the alarmed woobs of the alarm crab from further down into it. Behind you the white crabs are charging into the poison. Then about half of them charge back out as their legs stop cooperating with them.

Squeezing into the tunnel is a trick but you fit alright. With the haste you're making you even see the alarm crab disappear down a branch into a side passage. You choose to go the other direction. If the crab is getting help you'd rather not run into it. Instead you bend left with the tube and bypass any other options in favor of the one that doesn't risk you getting stuck trying to contort yourself to avoid the chance you'll just get stuck until the next crab comes by.

Eventually you find an exit and disgorge yourself into whatever room it is. A quick check finds it visibly similar to the gill room you were in earlier. Except with less wooshing. Probably because the threshers in charge of stirring the water aren't doing much more than twitching in here. A single crab stands at the end of the room. a dozen pincer tipped legs holding closed veins full of black poison that the gill cones are picking up from outside. All except one which appears to escape into a wall.

The long limbed crab holds itself high above the line of poison that covers most of the floor level of the cavity, leaking out of the cracks between its claws. It seems tired. You feel tired. ALso out of air. Between the crab slamming into you and the long vigorous wiggling through tunnel you've done you appear to have exhausted your supply.

Little problems to keep your day interesting.

>That's it for tonight. I've got work in 20 minutes and I've done none of my prep stuff.
>Next thread... probably Saturday. I don't have an early shift that day so hopefully we can finally kill this sucker
>I'll stick around if anyone wants to complain about how this crab ain't dead yet. Or if you just have questions and shit. And by stick around I mean I'll post from work once I get there and get my phone back to the thread.

No complaints about the Crab'thulu taking awhile to die, that's sorta what you expect from crabs of mythic proportions.

I love that we just spent a whole session inside a crab. It's seriously cool.

Well he rather needed that gas bladder to make the most efficient use of his legs. The poison you released hasn't been felt yet
