QM Askfm http://ask.fm/AnAspiringQM

A tall, muscular man with long shaggy hair and wearing just a loincloth who calls himself Voken-Yanos is walking towards you.

You are standing in a crater at the battle site that was the last stand of a god of death called Ilnost, and his pantheon.

Voken-Yanos was hidden, perhaps trapped, in a sky-blue mass of metal that responds to your thoughts just as lightning does.

You freed him, and then he said he was going to kill you.

“Why?” you ask as he runs towards you. He doesn’t answer, he simply attacks, throwing a combination of punches at you.

You dodge the first few, and then grab his wrists. His hands open and reach for your throat. You pit your own strength against his as your feet slip in the loose soil of the crater. Slowly his hands get closer and closer to you.

Damn, he’s strong, and it seems he’s getting stronger every second. You release your grip and take flight when he lunges for you again.

High up and safe out of his reach you say “are you ready to talk about this? Because no matter how strong you are, you will never catch me in the a-whoa!”

You bank sharply to the side as he leaps up straight at you, easily flying fifty foot in the air before coming down to land again.
>>
“See?” you say “you can’t hop to catch me when I can fly and you can’t, now are you going to- no! Don’t you dare!”

Voken-Yanos turns his expressionless face from you, to the three people standing at the edge of the crater: Sofia, Isla and Jal.

He rushes towards then, now moving faster than you can run, but not faster than you can fly.

Sofia and Jal step forwards in front of Isla, even as Isla starts casting a spell.

You can’t let him hurt them, or drag them into the crater – when Isla stepped into it she almost died.

What do you do?

>Attack him in melee
>Use spell/power (what?)
>Wait, Isla has this
>Other (what?)

Yelling suggestions to your wives is also a possibility.
>>
>>40150989
Use that metal shit. Trap him again. Geez, what an asshole.
>>
[Meta]

Isla’s base XP cost for spells is 1 XP, this can be reduced/increased normally.

For every 1 XP reduction in cost on a spell costing 1 XP, you get a free spell when you buy one. So if buying a spell costs 1 XP, and you have a discount of 2 XP, you get 2 free spells for every 1 you buy.

[End Meta]

Why use a basic attack to get SotS bonus attacks over Whirling Storm Barrage? Most of our damage comes from our Strmod anyway. If it's to get TaLS, that could be applied to any attacks in WSB or bonus SotS attacks, IIRC.

I heavily doubt he gets stronger without any sort of maximum strength, he is just regaining his strength, thats why I want to debuff him and then use Radiant Chains to pin him down, Radiant Chains damages him too, and in the unlikely case he is strong enough to break the Chains, we fuck him up again thanks to the speed bonus of SotS there is no way for him to attack our wives when he breaks out before we can step in.
>>
>>40151163
You realize he's in a necromantic death crater and barely feeling it, right? One that almost killed one of our wives in seconds? You really want to make assumptions that he doesn't have some kind of ability to move fast enough and/or teleport?

Radiant Chains prevents all plane shifting, and if he could teleport, he'd have done it already.
Even if he somehow still does and uses it, we can cast spells reflexively, he is never faster than Sireyi.
Especially not when he needs to break out of the Chains.

>>40151204
Okay, first of all, diversify your vocabulary. That's two times in two posts you've opened with heavily verbing.

SotS isn't that much faster, and if you wanted speed, Angelic Form is an eight times multiplier. The point of neither of us feeling it is that we're a fucking Goddess of Life. Him also not feeling it means that he's somewhere in that ballpark of power, probably a demigod, likely of something opposed to Storms.

>>40151231
Rapid spells are not reflexive actions, just spells that can be cast very quickly. There are powers to override powers that block dimensional travel. Sireyi doesn't teleport all over the place in spite of being able to; I see no reason why he would until he had to, especially in a wild magic zone.
>>
>>40151316
>Angelic Form is an eight times multiplier
And would call every undead in miles radius to us, fantastic idea.
>>
>>40151316
>Him also not feeling it means that he's somewhere in that ballpark of power
Or that he has affinity with necromantic energies.
You know, the obvious and likely scenario, given where we are.
>>
>>40151337
Anon, True Angelic Magic is already doing that. Also, I have difficulties taking the undead seriously.

>>40151354
So he only has a massive source of power to tap into, which is probably the reason his strength keeps rising. That's so much better.
>>
>>40151377
>Anon, True Angelic Magic is already doing that.
Possibly, we don't really know, and if it does, its definitly a far smaller beacon than turning full angel.

>So he only has a massive source of power to tap into, which is probably the reason his strength keeps rising. That's so much better.
I fail to see how its relevant to the point we were arguing about, perhaps you should stop trying to move goalposts?
>>
You fly down and intercept him before he can reach your loved ones. You feel the power of the storms within you, waiting to be unleashed.

You land in front of him, and as he barrels towards you, you summon the power of Living Storm Style.

You throw several punches at him, but he’s better prepared this time, and blocks or dodges all of your attacks, your assault having no effect. Not only is he getting stronger, he’s getting faster too.

Before he can counter, you cast your spell and glowing chains of magical energy appear around him, but he leaps forwards before they can fully appear, and they dissipate.

[AE 89/97; DE 189/192]

Then he’s upon you. He hits you several times, and despite your armour, and your sheer durability it still hurts. You feel ribs crack under his fists, and you are knocked backwards but manage to remain standing.

[HP 352/398]

Your healing abilities deal with some of the damage, but much slower than normal. Though the magic of this place can’t kill you, it is slowing your ability to heal.

Behind you, you feel Isla’s spell activate, but what it does you don’t know, something to protect herself and Jal and Isla you hope.

This thing you’re facing, it’s standing in this deadly crater that is inundated with death magic, and it doesn’t seem affected at all.

He grins at you and walks forwards, looking like he’s anticipating a fun time. You can detect evil magic from him now (demon; demon lord-equivalent power; wrath; ???; ???).

I think Storm Wind Stance is a free action, but there hasn't been confirmation either way; you'll need to pay for earthed lightning for each individual attack you want to apply it to; you may as well add SotS bonus attacks since we're already in it and they're fairly cheap.

By RAW we could, actually.

But we could manulally apply Smite to each individual attack, as long as we pay the DE?
>>
You rush to meeting him, the power of your magical style guiding your attacks. You strike him with blow after blow, your fists and arms a blur.

[AE 83/97]

You force him to take a step back, and you see his face it split and dark blood oozing from his cuts. He grins and steps forwards, then you unleash your final attack, enhanced by your storm powers and your divinity. Lightning and thunder crash around him, and he convulses as you hit him.

[AE 78/97; Deific Power -1]

He goes flying backwards and falls to the ground, unmoving. Is he dead?

Then he stands up and brushes himself off “Wonderful” he says, grinning, blood still staining his face.

He starts to walk towards you again “more” he says “give me more” As you watch the cuts on his face close and the blood fades away.

Oh great...it seems purely physical attacks aren’t going to win the day, given that he seems to be healing almost as fast as you can.

Your own injuries fade, but not as fast as they normally would.

[HP 363/398]

He breaks into a run, coming straight at you. At the same time, Islas spell links your mind to her, Jal and Sofia.

-Sireyi lets just leave- Suggests Isla –This is getting us nowhere-

-We can’t leave this demon running around- says Sofia

-In a land of the dead, yes we can- argues Isla

-Hit ‘im again!- suggests Jal –us three are safe in Isla’s spell-thingy, take ‘im down luv!-

I'm not sure how you got that, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

Each use of WSB without modifier to our base willpower modifier is 4 attacks (12/3), then SotS to each of those attacks for +8 unarmed attacks (12 total), then FatSW to use WSB again and apply SotS to each of it's attacks again. So 24 attacks.

40, sure.

>I'm not sure how you got that, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

Whirling Storm Barrage: The Storm never stops blowing. By spending 3 arcane energy as a normal action you may take one unarmed attack per 3 points of willpower score you possess.

Score, not modifier.

Sireyi's Willpower score is 34. 34/3 = 11

Speed of the Storm and Fast as the Storm Wind can each be used once per round to gain extra attacks.

You can't multiply up extra attacks for balance reasons.

This time you let him come to you, holding in place until he’s almost on you, then you leap forwards and smash your fists into him again and again.

Your living storm style grants you the speed to hit him over and over, but it is your paladin powers that will put him down.

Every time your fists connect you feel an explosion of divine magic. Battered by your attacks he staggers back...and falls once more. He lies there unmoving.

[AE 73/97; DE 120/192]

You pause and take a breath, wondering if he’s going to rise...

And he does! You sigh in frustration, why can nothing ever be as easy as it looks?

His face and body are wrecked – he is burned and bleeding from your assault, your smiting fists have battered and bruised him. You can even see a cracked rib poking through his flesh.

He chuckles, a wet, throaty sound, as his injuries slowly disappear. Yours do too.

[HP 374/398]

“The powers of the gods” he says in a musing tone “it’s been a while since I fought a divine champion, I’d forgotten what it was like, forgotten how to...adapt...to such power, but I recall now.”

Once again he starts a slow advance towards you, grinning that same anticipatory grin.

We could probably tell the metal to squeeze.

Alternatively, spend a load of Deific Power to overcharge an Angels Fire attack by like ten times our maximum Divine Energy and throw an angelic nuke at his face.

>>40152593
Between the base damage of 5th rank lanterns (10d6 + Willmod*4), the fact that we can summon fucking 16 of them, their rather high durability at that level *and* Purifying Burst further increasing their damage vs evil creatures, I think they'll keep him busy.
>>
>>40152593
Angelic Lantern 5 would be 14 lantern each to (10d6+48)x1.5 damage.
So at least 1134 damage.
>>
>>40152655
>the fact that we can summon fucking 16 of them
14, we have Willmod of +12 in normal form and its Basic 2 + Willmod. It would be 6 more if we go Soul of Light though.

Lightning Bolt does far more damage than Angels Fire. 5d6+(Will Modx2)+1d6 vs. 9d6+(Will Modx3)+2d6(+Intense Lightning)

Maybe taking him out of this pool of necromantic energy you’re both in will slow him down.

You reach deep inside you and call forth a storm, though a small one. Dark clouds gather overhead and rain starts to fall, small lightning flashes appear in the clouds overhead, getting bigger and bigger. You know this will draw the dead to you but right now, that’s much less of a concern.

You attack him again, throwing him back with your strikes rather than trying to kill him. After a half-dozen blows you have him out of the crater, far away from your wives.

[AE 40/97; DE 113/192]

As soon as he’s out of the crater, his injuries disappear completely, so do yours.

[HP full]

Damn, you were hoping that would slow him do-

You’re flying, why are you flying? What’s that noise: crack, crack, crack, crack...

You raise your head, everything hurts. You’re lying down on your back and when you look around you see a long row of splintered tree trunks, all in a row, a trail of destruction ripped through a somewhat dark-looking forest. And rushing up the trail is a large muscular man that, oh shi-.

A kick connects with your stomach and you’re flying through the air, only this time your wits aren’t scrambled.

The man just sent you flying through the forest again, and your path of flight wrecks even more trees. Damn he hits hard.

[HP 284/398]

He comes rushing after you again as you hit the ground, moving much faster than before. The two of you are deep in the forest surrounding the crater, and the clearing the crater is in, is nowhere in sight.

You scramble to your feet as he is almost on you. It seems you weren’t the only one whose powers were inhibited by the crater, out of it, he’s much faster and stronger than before. He must have knocked you through a dozen or more trees.

Still, your small storm is still overhead, you can’t have gone that far...

You teleport back to the crater and call your lanterns to you. As you do so you burn more of your deific energies to make yourself stronger, more powerful.

[-3 Deific Power; Angels Lantern 5 bought, DE 76/192]

Your lanterns orbit around you, shedding bright light. You wait in the crater, and sure enough, Voken-Yanos soon shows up, running back along the trail of destruction he created.

You wait in the crater and he reaches the edge of it and....pauses, then starts to stalk around the edge of the crater, his eyes fixed on you, his grin slow fading.

He’s clearly unwilling to enter the crater, but he doesn’t seem to want to flee either. Neither of you are near your wives. They are outside the crater, within a dome of magical energy created by Isla’s spell. Currently he’s only focusing on you, but if he switches targets...

-Sireyi you’re ok!- You hear Sofia’s voice in your head

-I’m fine- you tell them all –I just need some way to beat this thug-

-It doesn’t match any description of a demon I know...- Isla says thoughtfully

-Mebbe Isla was right- suggests Jal –Mebbe its time ter go-

You transform into your fully angelic form: Your skin takes on the appearance of sculpted marble with veins of silver running through it; your eyes turn into golden orbs with silvery pupils and an intricate spiral pattern instead of an iris. Your wounds disappear and your powers are fully restored.

[Full HP, Full DE]

Above you the storm fills you with its power as you call upon it, ready to blast this demon with the power of your lightning.

At your mental command your lanterns target the monster with beams of light, as it raises its arms to protect its face you unleash the most powerful lightning bolt you can, blasting it with all of your power.

Everything you see turns white, and when you see again, there is a secondary, smaller crater at the side of the main one, and the trees around it are burning, of the demon, there is no sign, its dead. More than dead, it’s ash.

-Yeah, go my Angel!- You feel a voice in your head, that’s Jal. You know Jal...you...care for her in a way. But destroying the demon is more important.

You fly over to the small crater you have made, your lanterns swirling around you, you need to be sure it’s dead.

The crater is covered in burnt ash, no sign of the demon, and then you see a small mound, no bigger than a finger.

It starts to grow, ash flaking off and pouring down the side of it. It is a wet mass of flesh, growing rapidly. You can’t see any recognisable-

No wait, it grows an eye that blinks at you, then a nose. It’s the size of a head now. Is...is this demon able to recover from anything?

It seems your adversary is able to recover from even the most destructive power you wield, whilst outside the necromantic energy of the crater at least.

Maybe leaving it trapped in the metal would have been the better option.

Or maybe you can use your deific power to kill it.

What do you do?

You need to finish this, permanently. With the storm above you fuelling your energies, calling another lightning bolt is easy, but this time you imbue it with your own deific power and you keep channelling power into the growing lump of flesh until only ash remains.

[DP -5]

You wait to see if it can come back from that....but after several minutes nothing happens.

With one eye on the burnt ground, just in case, you head over to the house-sized lump of sky-blue metal.

To you it still feels like lightning somehow. You touch it and sparks fly between you and it. It feels familiar somehow.

You lose track of how long you simply stand there, touching it until insistent voices in your head call you back to yourself.

-Sireyi, Sireyi!- A voice *yells* in your head, is that...Sofia, you know her...

You realise where you are, and what you’re doing. You transform back into your mortal form and you see Isla, Sofia and Jal, stood at the edge of the crater, yelling at you, and their voices in your head, trying to get your attention.

“Sireyi!” yells Sofia “Are you awake yet?!”

“Yes, sorry” you call back “I got a bit distracted.”

You head over to them, the sky blue metal following you like one mass of liquid, moving at your command. You both exit the crater and approach your wives, they all hug you, examining you to make sure you’re uninjured.

“So it’s dead, yeah?” asks Jal, looking over at the second, smaller crater you made, as Sofia gives you an irritated look.

“I think so, yes” you say, as Isla lets go of you and examines the mass of metal, adjusting her glasses and biting her lower lip.

“What was that?” asks Sofia, following Jals gaze.

“Some sort of wrath demon” you say “but far stronger than normal, I’m not sure what it was really, just that it took a lot of killing.”

“I know what this is!” says Isla excitedly, tapping at the mass of sky-blue metal “This is Storm Silver!”

“Storm Silver?” you ask.
>>
“Yes!” she says excitedly “like, Celestial Iron or Abyssal Brass – it’s a metal aspected to a plane, you normally only find it in the heart of the Plane of Storms, maybe one of the gods was a god of storms!”

[Storm Silver: Magical metal. Can be used to make much more powerful versions of magical items that use storm-related powers such as lightning, wind blasts, flight, weather control etc.

Using it to make appropriate magical items requires the ability to make magic items, and knowledge of 5 or more storm-related spells.

Sireyi cannot currently create Storm Silver. The lump she has weighs 1.25 million pounds. It would likely sell for a very high price.

Due to her powers Sireyi can make it move at a walking pace.]

“So we’re keeping it then” says Sofia, ever the practical one.

“’Ow much is it worth then?” Jal asks Isla

“Well I think-” she starts.

“Time to go” you say, as you see swarms of lesser undead starting to approach, from deep in the forest. You can see less than a hundred – no threat to you. But more will be coming.

We could have an airship by next year, mate. It'd probably be cheaper, if anything, to make it out of metal we've already got. Lightning pistols probably just require a bunch of manufactories and maybe some node knowledge, which again, we can get by next year.

It costs us 100k and takes 2xManufactories to build a airship, we could only do that if we would expend nearly all of Dalvins income and manufacturing on building that one airship.

>>
>>40154390
So it's more like wait twenty years when Oreia has developed enough.
>>
>>40154359
Assuming we have to get a Church of Yerra, about 272,000, which also gets us a Mages Guild and 500 Infantry. Well within what we can afford next year.

Don't make assumptions about what I have and haven't read, try reading it yourself or, I dunno, paying attention to the plans last thread.

>>40154390
Next year. Next. As in, when our income is slightly below 500,000? Then.

And we don't have the manufacturing capability for mass-producing weapons or powered armour, if you feel like arguing about doing it this year, and I, at least, am not willing to gimp our overall growth to get some weapons and armour one year earlier.
>>
First things first, just because you can’t scry in this place without great difficulty, doesn’t mean others can’t. You cast a spell on yourself and each of your allies to prevent scrying and mindreading.

You then planeshift the mass of Storm Silver back to Oreia, leaving it under Kaela’s care.

Returning to the crater that’s now teaming with undead, you search it as best you can, in between creating storms of lightning to immolate the gathering undead that seem to be drawn here now in greater and greater numbers.

You keep the storm clouds overhead to keep fuelling your powers as you all search the place as best you can.

After an hour of searching you still haven’t found anything of interest or value, just old broken weapons and armour, and bodies, lots of bodies.

“This is hopeless” says Sofia, plastered in mud. You send another lightning storm into a mass of zombies, blasting them apart “I just want to be sure” you say in a conciliatory manner.

“Sof has a point love” says Jal, poking through the mud with a stick “we could be ere fer months an not check this whole place.”

“She’s right” says Isla, all three are covered in mud from searching, whilst you burn the advancing undead to a crisp, the rain falling all around you.

You’ve not searched a hundredth of the crater yet. At least you know now that within your Sanctuary, the effects of the death magic of this place are negated, the three searching by your side as you protect them.

You’ve tried scrying, but here it seems useless. Even the Elemental Node can only calm magic within a small area. Still, that offers some use, if you use that *and* scrying...you might be able to search the entire a crater with magic...in a few days on your own. IN the mean time your wives can get back to their own tasks, or stay with you.
>>

You assume wrong. First we need a Stronghold, then we need a Church of Yerra, then we need a Mage Guild, and then we need to build 2 manufactories.
And then we can start building a airship.
50k(Stronghold)+10kChurch of Yerra+100k Mage Guild+2x10k Manufactories+100k Airship.
Going to a total of 280k, actually. Not including the price for the soldiers.

Okay, fine, the realm spending for next year. It's semantics, any kind of plan for what to do with it won't really be relevant until next year's realm spending due to our current gold limitations and the plan to get out from under them requiring virtually all of it.

>>40154554
I did include the price of the soldiers. I did not include the Stronghold because we need a Stronghold for virtually anything, so we'd almost certainly be getting one no matter what we do.

The Church of Yerra is only 2000 each for a Large Realm, not 10000.

>It's semantics
I find the difference between having something in one or in two years is more than semantics.

> any kind of plan for what to do with it won't really be relevant until next year's realm spending
Thats completly inaccurate, we could start making magical weapons and armor with it using Dalvins two manufactories. The tax plan only uses Oreias income, not the income of Dalvin, or the Azure Empires if we feel like sharing.

You were both wrong, it's 5000.

>Church of Yerra: Your stronghold has a Church dedicated to Yerra and chapels and shrines to Yerra can be found throughout your realm.
>Small Realm: Allows you to recruit mages into your military (10,000/2,000).
>Large Realm: The first one allows you to recruit mages into your military. Subsequent ones, reduce the cost and upkeep of mages by 10% (to a minimum of 20%, 5,000/1,000).

“Alright” you say “we’ll come back here if Slagredeth doesn’t have it.”

Gathering them up you all fly towards the Spine Mountains, landing in the foothills nearby.

“So how do we find the dragons lair?” asks Sofia.

“We search luv, we search” says Jal “C’mon, gotta be some caves around here somewhere.”
---
You search for the rest of the afternoon without success, then as darkness draws in you make camp, and build a small fire for warmth, concealed in a pit.

As you’re eating, Jal says to you “Luv there’s some folk what’re watching us.”

Sofia grabs her sword, and Isla her staff.

“I know” you say calmly, the four of you are sat outside your tent “They turned up whilst we were cooking dinner, I thought they were undead, but they’re just....watching.”

You haven’t got a good look at them, just vague shapes in the mist, but you think they’re alive.

A voice comes out of the darkness “We wish to speak to the one called *Sireyi*.” It speaks common with an exotic accent, sounding elven, but different somehow.

“This feels like a trap” complains Sofia.

“One of you can approach” you call into the darkness “any more, and we’ll consider you hostile.”

One of the dark figures comes forth. It appears to be an elven man from the build, though he’s garbed from head-to-toes in grey-blue clothes. Only his upper face is uncovered and his skin....is a deep brown, almost black, a dark elf then. On your plane they are incredibly rare, hunted almost to extinction by their lighter cousins.

Thanks to your powers you can tell he has daggers hidden in sheaths on his forearms, and vials hanging at his waist – poisons perhaps.

He stops a respectful distance away from you, at the edge of the camp and bows “My Lord Slagredeth bids you greetings” he says formally “and asks that you meet with him, to discuss the purpose of your visit.”

You exchange looks with each of your wives, on their faces you can see written what you’re thinking: sounds like a trap, but if he wants to talk rather than fight...maybe its worth risking.

“What did he have in mind?” you ask.

“We would escort you to our city” says the elf respectfully “There great Slagredeth holds court and would speak to you in person – an honour offered to very few.”

How do you respond?

I'm not saying it's inexhaustible, nothing is, but even if an airship is a million pounds (somewhat unlikely), we'd have enough left to make 2000 sets of Storm Silver powered armour, assuming it's ~125 lbs per set (it says 100+ on the charsheet, I know, but I'm guessing towards a significantly higher end).

“Lead on” you say to the elf “we’ll all go.”

“Sireyi are you sure this is a good idea?” whispers Isla

“It’s an easy way to find him” you whisper back “and who knows, maybe he will do the smart thing.”

You break camp and follow the group of elves. They are ten in number and they lead you through the hills to a large opening in the mountainside. Ugh, tunnels and caves, you hate going underground.

“This way if it pleases you Lady Sireyi” says the elf, who gave his name as Durathril.

“Right” you say, you can’t see any traps or obvious ambushes, so it might just be safe to-

Durathril sprouts a small crossbow bolt in his throat and keels over quietly without a sound.

All around you a hail of bolts fills the sky, you spread your wings and shield your wives with them, even as you hear a voice yell out in elven “Don’t harm the Lady Sireyi or her allies, but kill the Wurmslaves!”

Your escort are under attack by another group of elves, perhaps twelve or so, and with almost half of your guides dead in the initial attack, this is going to be a one-sided battle, unless you intervene.

Sofia curses and draws her sword, Jal unsheathes her weapons and Isla prepares to cast a spell, but none of them are sure of which targets to attack.

“Stop this!” you yell, your voice booming over the battlefield. Neither side takes any notice however, and they keep shooting their small crossbows at each other, some of the ambushers head forwards with short blades in hand.

With a snarl of frustration you erect a wall of magical force between the two sides, separating them. One of the ambushers uses a dimension door spell to get past the wall, only to find Sofias sword at her throat.

“What is going on here?” you demand, your voice carrying across the battlefield.

They all start yelling at once: a confusing babble of voices.

“Quiet!” you yell “one at a time, you!” you point to one of the ambushes “why did you attack us?”

The appointed spokesperson looks around and then says “Slagredeth murdered our rulers and took over our cities, he is a tyrant and a usurper and a monster, death to the wurmslaves!” his compatriots all cheer.

They all start yelling again.

“Quiet!” you yell again and point to one of your escort “you, who are these people?”

“Rebels and traitors” he responds confidently “Trying to turn you against our rightful ruler, he will reward you handsomely for their capture My Lady.”

At this point the spokesperson for your attackers responds “They serve the Tyrant, Slagredeth, our seers say that you can free us from his oppression.”

You are Milerna Jalweyen, angel-blooded and born paladin of Konig. You are 8 years old, and are attending paladin training at a church of Konig school.

http://pastebin.com/RE8br4uf

You have returned to Paladin school after spending time with your grandfather, Konig. He has given you the power to see which of his followers are not living up to his ideals, and every night you pray to him to tell him what you’ve seen, and what they did.

A few weeks ago, one of the Instructors gave you and Thomas real blades to spar with, and you almost got hurt.

Since then you have looked at a lot of the grown-ups at your school, and you know that many of them fall short of several of your grandfathers ideals. Sometimes your prayers are very long.

Today is going to be different though. Your punishments have all finished, and Aunt Philly has given you and your friends permission to go into the town! For a whole afternoon!

You are walking through town with Chesi, Jenny, Thomas, Michael, Sera and Gilyan, all together as a group. It’s early afternoon.

“We should go to the circus!” says Thomas “They have elephants, and owlbears!”

“Lets go watch the executions” suggests Michael “They’ve caught a mass-murderer that cut people up and put them in pies and they’re hanging him today.”

Sera and Jenny glare at Michael, Gilyan looks like she wants to hit him.

“I think we should go shopping for some cloth that can be made into new clothes” suggests Sera “all of you have been growing too fast and need new clothes”. That’s true, you do have a lot of wrist showing past your sleeves.

Gilyan disagrees on the plan of action “I think we should visit the bookshops” she says “It will help us all with our studies, and I heard that there are some rare editions that have recently arrived.” Jenny nods in agreement but Thomas groans.
>>
“Looks like we might be splitting the party” observes Chesi “With everyone wanting to part ways” She squeezes your hand “I’m happy with anything, where do you want to go?”

It seems Chesi will be following you wherever you go. But where do you want to go?

Okay, so
Points for Slagredeth:
He actually asked to meet us, with a full escort and everything.
He has what we need, and might be willing to negotiate
They call him a tyrant, but he's unified the various Dark Elf kingdoms
The previous kings/queens/lords might not have been particularly good people
Cons:
He has a very evil-sounding name
He's a known coward (fled the battle that killed the other gods)
He's being called a tyrant, which might be true, and a Usurper, which is true, and a monster, which, let's face it, is probably true.
He's a giant ancient wurm and we would get sooooo much XP from killing his bitch ass.
We can still get the scythe if we cause the revolution.
Seriously, Sireyi historically has a hardon for deposing tyrants. It gets her hotter than Jal ever could.

I really hope it doesn't. The population growing exponentially forever is an awesome idea.
Shit, this plane will end up becoming the succubutt plane. Imagine all the DP after buying the Domain.
>>
>>40156534
Dammit.

Let's go conquer another Hell or six after we deal with the wurm.
>>
>>40156568
Now, now we have to deal with spoiler]Bokin[/spoiler] grey giants and slaver lizards first.
>>
>>40156538
>You should also remember that a fair amount of that is fluffed as being the Succubi that are still coming to Oreia from other planes or being sent here by that one queen.
Actually just ~1%, since 30% explicitly come from succubi having lots of kids and 20% from increased fertility.

>>40156558
>I really hope it doesn't.
Huh? You misunderstood him, I think.
The social program would definitly need to include baby sitters, otherwise the succubi couldn't take care of their children while still doing their jobs. That would be awful.
Pretty likely a huge amount of our Social Programs will deal with childcare.

Public schooling needs to happen fast too, btw.

>>40156568
Don't be silly anon. We anix this plane and be done with it, no problem.
>>
>>40156602
Konig, go home you're drunk.

>>40156610
More likely we will have to deal with infiltrators trying to destroy Oreia on behalf of evil gods with succubus domain before that.
>>
>>40156558
The instinct modifier decreases over time, we know this already. It is a fact. DP requiring exponentially more worshipers for every point is also a fact.

It might still become the Succubus plane if we keep rescuing them.
>>
>>40156599
I meant I don't want the instinct to breed like, well, succubi to decline.
>>
>>40156639
>The instinct modifier decreases over time
But the 20% from Life Domain doesn't.
Which is really more than enough by that point, considering in just four years we have a larger population than Donmer.
>>
>>40156630
You guys only care about saving succubi, but what about all the slave lolis in that market world and those asshole giants?
>>
>>40156639
>>40156630

Could create some sort of plane of existence for them. Or find a nice planet somewhere that's deep in good territory but nobody really uses. Honestly, I'm kinda baffled that gods don't just go around looking for habitable planets or get some sort of science-inclined god to create a new one somewhere in their territory.
>>
>>40156685
All of those need to be saved as well, I just feel more bad at this precise moment for the Succubi.

You are a terrible person, "dude". I know, right?
>>
>>40156681
Dornmers population grows too, so more likely 5 years.

>>40156664
It will inevitably, we already know that.
I assume it will stay higher than the human average for a long time though, in adition to the higher fertility in Sireyis sanctum.
>>
>>40156761
Let's divinely engineer Oreia's children to grant the population a higher natural fertility.
>>
>>40156784
Why? Life domain already does that.
>>
>>40156791
I am thinking that natural fertility stacks with the domain and the sanctuary.
>>
>>40156784
We only have 3 planes anon where do you plan on putting them all?
>>
>>40156784
Yeah, and then couple of decades later some evil god uses his DP to fuck with our sanctuary and half of our country starves to death.
>>
>>40156784
Fuck doing eugenics bullshit to children and fuck you for mentioning this kind of crap again.
>>
>>40156806
The tribal lands aren't that big, they are only about the size of mongolia, we can't really put 'that' many succubutts into them.
>>
>>40156808
I am certain that if the quest's powerlevels keep rising as they are, Sireyi will eventually discover how to create/manipulate planes. It seems like a very Pally thing.

I don't think that you understand how that works, my good autistic friend. What he's suggesting is basically to buff up our citizens in some kind of a way. Now, it might be unnecessary, but in no way is it evil. Or would you get mad at us for turning our lands more fertile or protecting our realm from cold?
>>

Heavens are for dead people. Or spiritual/magical beings created by the heaven's deity.

“Lets go get our fortunes told” you suggest to Thomas and Chesi.

“Sounds fun” says Chesi.

“Sounds boring” counters Thomas.

“It’ll be fun” you say “don’t you want to find out about all the bad dragons you’re going to fight, all the great deeds you’re going to accomplish?”

“Well” says Thomas consideringly “ok, I guess, if you want to.”

You join the short line to the fortune tellers tent and all three of you go in together.

The Fortune-Teller, a Madam Tressard according to the sign above the tent entrance, looks a little surprised to see three children in her tent. She’s old, and smells funny, and she’s wearing a long shawl with strange symbols on it.

“The candy-seller is three tents down” she says, pointing.

“We’d like our fortunes told” says Chesi, putting some coins on the table.

Madam Tressard gazes into the crystal ball in front of her “I foresee many exciting adventures ahead for you” she says in a hollow, echoing voice “but beware the man with the reverse hands, for he shall spell your doom.”

At your side Thomas gasps and takes a step back.

Chesi snorts in amusement “That’s fake” she says “and *your doom* isn’t hard to spell, I want a real fortune told please.”

“I don’t” says Thomas, backing away “I’ll, I’ll wait outside.”

Madam Tressard gives you a pointed look “go after him” she says “he needs a friend right now, I can tell her fortune” she indicates Chesi “but not yours, I got in quite enough trouble the *last* time I told a godborn what the future held, thank you very much!”

Wait, how did she....

To an eager Chesi, Madam Tressard starts talking “I see many great and strange things in your future...”

What do you do?

I'm...sorry? Are you talking about breeding planes of existence like they're horses? Am I reading this correctly?

>>40156974
We already do that by having certain domains (e.g. Life increases fertility and minimizes risks of pregnancy for worshipers/people in Sanctuary) and there are domain powers to do similar things eventually. Now stop forever.
>>
>>40157019
>Am I reading this correctly?
Yes, it's the only way to keep up with demand.

Anons are idiots. You know it and I know it, unless Pally can make it happen behind the scenes we will screw it up.
Also we'll have someone seek out a planefu so there's still a chance to screw it but at least Pally can fade to blask.

You decide to stay and hear Chesis fortune, you can speak to Thomas later.

Madam Tressard talks about how Chesi is destined to do great things, to become a champion of justice, and right many wrongs, but she never seems to talk about specifics, she just talks about stuff that could mean *anything*. Where even is Egwen anyway? And what are league champions?

It doesn’t make a lot of sense, and then Madam Tressard stops talking suddenly, and taps her crystal ball.

“Damn things broken again” she mutters “keeps showing the tripartite future, yes I know there are multiple possible futures, why do you keep showing the same three over and over again?”

“Sorry kid” she says to Chesi “That’s all I can tell you today.”

“Aww” says Chesi “But at least I get to be a champion of justice, right?”

“Oh yes” says Madam Tressard, pulling out a pipe and lighting it up “you could say its something you’ll be doing your entire life” she mutters something quietly after that but you don’t catch it, something about a may bee. Why would bees in may be short?

“Well, that was disappointing” you say to Thomas as the two of you leave the fortune tellers tent. Chesi is quiet, probably thinking about her fortune.

Thomas looks a bit happier “lets go see the clowns” he suggests. You open your mouth to suggest something else and then you see your Arcane Theory teacher – Instructor Tanner.

She’s handing one of the circus workers some money, and he leads her back away from the bright colourful tents, into the back of the circus, what could she be doing here?

What do you do?

“Look” you say to Thomas and Chesi “It’s Instructor Tanner.”

“I guess she likes circuses too” says Thomas.

Chesi says “no...I think she’s here for something else...”

“Maybe we should follow her?” you suggest.

“Yes” says Chesi “we should.” She’s got a funny look on her face. Thomas just shrugs and follows you both as you follow Instructor Tanner, ducking behind tents and otherwise keeping out of sight as you do so.

You follow her to a tent at the back and her guide leads her inside and then the tent flap is laced up from the inside. You all sneak close and Thomas keeps a look out as you and Chesi lie on the ground, pull the tent wall up, and stick your heads inside...
---
Inside you see Instructor Tanner standing in front of three old men who are sat in chairs, one has a pipe. One has a small monkey-lizard-thing sat on the floor next to his chair. It seems *wrong* somehow, like, really creepy.

“You know the signs” says one of the old men to Instructor Tanner “but how do we know you follow our Lord? I hear that you work at the Church of Konig, as a teacher.”

“What better place for a follower of Despair” says Instructor Tanner “than cultivating hopelessness in the hearts of Konigs young champions?”

“Hmmph” says the old man, not looking happy “and why do you come here?”

“I wish to make a bargain” says Instructor Tanner “and can pay Lord Qux well for the boon I-”

The monkey-lizard-thing jumps up on the arm of one of the chairs “You are not worthy to say His name!” it screeches in a high-pitched voice “you have not earned the right!”

“I meant no disrespect” says Instructor Tanner in a calm voice “I merely wished to establish who I am – I am well versed in the Hidden Ways and the Nine Secrets, I have descended to the Seventh Layer of the Unburdening.”
>>
At your side, Chesi twitches, as if that means something to her.

“So you say” says one of the old men “but you have yet to offer any proof, how do we know we can trust you?”

This sounds mysterious, what do you do?

You grab hold of Chesis hand to keep her calm and the two of you keep watching and listening. Chesi squeezes your hand back, clinging to you tightly as if she needs reassuring of something.

“If you can’t recognise a fellow follower of the Pit” says Instructor Tanner “then direct me to someone who can, perhaps I should be questioning your authority – after all, you have an imp at your beck and call, but maybe that’s *all* you have.”

The monkey-lizard-thing growls at her.

One of the old men looks mad and opens his mouth to speak, but you don’t hear what he has to say as something has hold of your ankles and you and Chesi are dragged backwards out of the tent.

You look up to see a bunch of scary-looking men standing over you – one of them is holding Thomas up in the air – his hand over Thomas’ mouth as Thomas’ legs kick at him uselessly.

You and Chesi try to fight them, but you’re outnumbered and surprised, and quickly tied up, and clothes are tied around your mouths.

The three of you are taken into the tent and dumped on the floor in front of Instructor Tanner and the old men.

One of the scary-looking men says something in a language you don’t know to the old men.

“Spies, intruders!” shrieks the monkey-lizard-thing. It skitters over to the three of you and sniffs at you.

“If you are truly what you say” says one of the old men to Instructor Tanner “prove it – kill one of these children.”

Thomas lets out a moan of fear behind his gag.

“They are students at the school” says Instructor Tanner, still calm “a death will not go unnoticed – and what of the other two?”

“We will hide the body” says one of the old men “and take the others two with us when we leave.”

Instructor Tanner looks you all consideringly.

“This one is angelblooded!” screeches the monkey-lizard thing, pawing at your clothing “leave this one alive, she will fetch a high price in the Pit!”
>>
“Very well” says Instructor Tanner, and taking out a knife, she kneels down next to Chesi, as you struggle as hard as you can against your bonds...
