Only two weeks before the hunt. You had already finished everything you could have done; your army was both inscribed and training, Alaria was starting with her studies and daily involving herself more deeply into what being a techpriests means and what the Omnissiah desires us to do, you had also presented your respects towards the Skitarius Nintar and he had accepted your forgiveness.

Without anything more to do you sent a message to the Inquisitress Karelia, whom you haven’t seen in days. She didn't respond; you were starting to get worried about her. Unable to make contact you decided to head into the moon of Ecantor on your own.

This unusual system was some kind of gravitational anchor and every ship that entered became damaged after exiting the warp. Another unusual characteristic was that leaving was near impossible, almost every warp gate became unstable at some point and closed before the ship managed to cross to the other side. This led to the creation of a governmental economy and ownership of gates; you could risk yourself an almost certain death and avoid paying or spend massive amounts of thrones for the pass of a stable and safe gate.

The fact that almost every planet was toxic to human life, most ships became damaged or destroyed upon entering and that leaving was a suicide turned this particular system into one where most life thrived suspended in the aether of space in orbital communities formed by the recycling of hulks that once were proud ships.

Each station was an orgy of different cultures; they were all different yet had one thing in common, their faith for the emperor. The ill-omened nature of this particular corner of the galaxy, the presence of a moon perpetually engulfed in a warp storm and the fact that the inhabitants knew that they would never return home would have turned anybody crazy and or suicidal. All those poor souls became united under their collective faith and that was why the Ecclesiarch had such strong presence among the voidfarers of Charonis.

There were many transports that connected every station with this location. All of them were filled with litanies, religious motifs and had speakers that softly repeated chants. The people inside were of a very heterogeneous nature, most were civilians but people from all the classes and echelons were seen, like nobles and even convicts that were given a permission. Under their sacred doctrine every soul was only richer or poorer depending on how loyal they were, not how many money did they had. It was a pretty uncommon sight; the ambient was cheerful, relaxing and people talked and socialized forgiving their ego and focusing on what they truly shared; their love for the Emperor.

During the three hour voyage you relaxed and looked across the window, floating in the void next to your transport there were many other small ships like the one that was carrying you. The transit of priests and believers was really high, at least half a million of souls traveled daily to their temples and sacred grounds. Normally a bigger ship would have been a better solution but in case a gravity tide happened any ship bigger than a frigate would be affected and have its internal structure damaged, those small vehicles were so compact that ended unscathed and were only shaken away like specks of dust in a sandstorm. It was astonishing how such a small moon like Ecantor was able to maintain and control a fleet of transport ships of such magnitude.
>>
>>40090458

After making planetfall you saw the kind of life that those men and women led. The surface was covered in churches, gardens of statues dedicated to the Emperor, the Primarchs and Imperial Saints and small shops and relicariums that sold all kind of religious paraphernalia and charms that apparently were able to change their luck or other kind of stats like their marksmanship skill. That was ridiculous, if a charm of managed to change someone’s fate it would be because the machine spirit that it possesses desires so, not because the image that it represents.

The fact that they sold those charms and attributed their effects to something else but their spirits ticked you off. You tried to relax and ignore that. People from outside the cult also had trouble to understand the Mechanicus after all. They were foreigners to the Omnissiah while you were a foreigner to the Creed.

It was odd that even if the people rushed into those shops and spent great quantities of Thrones all the benefits that those shops earned got seemed to go to nowhere. Materialistic possessions seemed to be virtually nonexistent as everybody but the visitors wore the same kind of ragged clothing and looked to have committed a vow of poverty. Besides some hotels no other living area was seen, meaning that all those priests and such surely didn't have their own housing.

You join one of the many groups that want to visit one of the many sightseeing areas and specially the temples. The people around is rude to a great decree, many wonder what is a member of the Mechanicus doing in such a place and a few ones directly insult you when they see your metal covered skeletal face.

The guide is a man covered in a white robe with a very dim excitation light on his eyes. It seems that this person got his position as a guide decades ago and has been repeating the same route and tales over and over until they have become something monotonous and dull. Seems like the robe is just borrowed from a communal wardrobe to somewhat appeal the visitors, looking at it closer reveals that it is parched and doesn't fits him right. Those people live in poverty like little more than the slaves that lives in the darkest bowels of the magnificent and humongous Cruisers that form the Imperial Navy.

Like a herd we are guided towards a long and spacious corridor cut in two lanes by a small yet long separator. As if we were vehicles we were moved across the corridor in one direction while we were explained the story of how this System was discovered by an Navigator after a dream that involved the Emperor itself and how the first colonist had a way harsher life than they have. You didn't doubted that story but it was obviously biased and altered to make them believe that this backwater place was special and that they should be thankful for not living as bad as people did in the past.
>>
>>40090920

The corridor ended in a spherical room that had a transparent crystalline floor and whose walls were coated in a mate black paint and glamorously painted with a depiction of the system and the myriad of stars that could be seen on its celestial vault, if it weren't for all those people around it would really look as if you were floating in open space. Just above the moon of Hecantor there was a cloud from where the Emperor emerged to look down upon them. This depiction of the God Emperor had a double purpose, it was painted in a way that it made him look at the planets but also looked as if it were directly looking at you. People took pictures and many other got on their knees to pray fervently.

When returning back your herd was moved in the other lane of the same corridor you entered in. This other side of the wall explained how the System evolved to what it was today. Once again the story seemed to look embellished to make those pitiful souls feel somewhat less miserable.

Back on the streets the guide with the same lack of emotion on his voice said that now we could go and spend money on the shops, make more visits or attend one of the many masses.

"Any question?"

He says as he has been instructed to, sighing softly knowing that those nescient will only ask him the frequent questions or none at all.

>Make more visits. ( Focus on temples that speak of: The Emperor, The Guard, The System, The Saints, Write in... )
>Go to the shops and look around. Maybe buy something for Alaria or another of the girls.

Crowded shops, sweat drops so concentrated that make up a big part of the humidity of the air, the heat of thousands of candles and all that mixed with a cacophony of multitude of grunts and voices speaking at the same time. Techpriests were used to crowds and heavy sounds but in their case those noises were the result of machines working perfectly and thus it had some kind of pattern, this was just utter garbling chaos.

You managed to squeeze into a shop, the vendor was behind a metallic fence and seemed that she could electrify it in case people became too aggressive with her or way too many people tried to enter at once. She sold statuette and figures of the Space Stations, various models of ships and all kind of Saints and other paraphernalia, most of which you didn't managed to recognize. Your lenses obviously focused on the ships, they had the correct form and its dimensions were not incorrect at all, there were many details that bothered you thought like way too many communication towers or the incorrect number of engines in the back.

You ended deciding to ignore those defects, she might not have seen one of those ships in her entire life and besides you were not a Navis expert either. The chances of existing Imperial ships with those characteristics while slim was not impossible. If you tried to correct her and ended being wrong everybody would make fun of you, specially in such a place where your people isn't completely welcomed.
>>

Looking into your cogitator you saw a new file named "INCOME". It was odd because you are sure you didn't created it and to install such thing inside your brain would have taken the need of a adept Datamancer techpriest and your physical presence...maybe Karelia asked a worker from her Cruiser to create that folder while you were asleep? Honestly you would have thought that such an idea to be an impossibility but right now your beliefs and opinion about the Inquisitress were confronting. You looked into the folder and saw an archive that looked like a Contract. On it is said that you would get a monthly income of 150 thrones. There was also an invoice for all the bionics that I had gotten on her ship, those didn't seemed to be free after all.

In total I had about 45 thrones, enough to get a statuette.

> Maybe you are way too paranoid with Karelia. Gift her a statuette of the Emperor to relieve tensions.
> It seems like there is something wrong with Juliannus, you barely hear him training anymore. Give him a statuette of the Emperor to befriend and cheer him up.
> Even if the rumors of an Order of Sororitas on this moon have never been verified this shop still sells statuette of them. Buy a statuette of a Battle-Sister to Liwet.
> You saw Mellizune and Alaria playing with plushies of saints. Those would be considered heretical if they weren't so useful to get the attention of infants into the creed. Get them a statuette of a Saint to share and learn about.
> Buy a statuette of the saint of the Imperial Guard Ollanius Pious. Who knows if you might reunite with Oihan again. Gift her the statuette if that happens.
> Buy a model of a Spaceship, the most expensive model. Gift it to the Mechanicus Schola on the Cruiser to befriend the teachers and magos even more.

You ended buying a model of a long and decorated Cruiser for yourself. It wasn't only made from rock but also wood and decorated with brass to make the engines and the aquila looking prow.

The vendor rolled her eyes and a client behind expressed the same with a hate filled "Of course it goes for the ship."

You gave him a completely hate filled glare after doing your deal and turning around. You were not a mutant nor a xeno, his hatred doesn't deserves to be directed towards you. Still, if you confronted him you would lost, not physically but socially. Even if you defeated all those people and had a reason to do so the entire place would be against your word. With a silent defeat on your lips you moved away and exited the shop.

This place made you felt lost and strange, there were a few machines around, yes but it was the first time in a really long time that you were not so surrounded by something nonmechanical. Everybody looked at you as if you were a monster. Anxiety started to form on your mind and a cold shiver crossed your bionic spine.

If Liwet ended indoctrinated by those same people who knows how will she evolve. She might reject you and think of yourself wrongly. Liwet is the closest thing you had for a friend and you were afraid of losing her and not being able to do anything about it.

Asking around would be very suspicious and some people might even become scared of angry of a Skitarii like you. Those people were little more than cattle and thus had herd like mentalities. If one started to yell at you five more would follow, and so on until it turned into a lynch against the strange and suspicious asking and grimm looking man...

You ended deciding for the Library, it was interesting to see that it functioned and looked very similarly to one of the many Mechanicus libraries that you had visited on your life, yet the contents of those books were nothing alike. Between those pages there would be biographies and tales, while in on of your cult's shelves one would mostly find manuals and recipes.

The fact that most of the crowd outside were complete ignoramus that were only able to blindly believe in what were told was confirmed inside. This place was way more empty than the rest of the buildings, it wasn't bigger in dimensions but the lack of people and the easiness to cross its halls made it look way more spacious than it was. People were missing of this place not because it was forbidden from their entrance but because the simple idea of opening a book and learning by themselves instead of just laying idle and listening to a priest was something way too hard to comprehend for them.
>>
>>40092168

Looking around you started focusing on the books that talked about or mentioned the sacred division of the Adepta Sororitas. After a while you ended alone in a desk with a barrier of books around you neatly surrounding and disconnecting you from the rest of your visual field. People inside seemed to be more respectful towards your presence but you still felt somewhat tense towards anybody that wasn't part of the Mechanicus,

You started to read about them and find the theme and topic dull yet interesting, the facts of their formation and beliefs didn't truly interest you and you were mostly focused in the bits that spoke and detailed their weaponry. It was then when the voice of a mature yet strangely beauty priestess startled you.

"You may have deviated from his true focus techpriest, but you aren't outside of his halo and engulfed into the darkness. The light of the Emperor still shines over you. It isn't too late to change of beliefs and get closer to the Ecclesiarch, the epicenter of his magnificent beacon of purity and righteousness."

For the first seconds you didn't knew what to say. Was she really trying to convert you into her beliefs? You also thought than the Emperor was a God but also that the Omnissiah was a true entity. Honestly you felt kind of attacked, she spoke to you condescendingly and indirectly said that the Adeptus Mechanicus is further than what is pure and right than them. Once again you had to shut up and let it go for your own good.
>>
>>40092181

"I will never change my beliefs as they are deeply bolted into my soul, covered with a layer of sacred techno-circuitry and protected by a hull of adamantium, thank you."

She smiled devilish, seemed that even if that wasn't the answer that she desired she kind of respected your loyalty towards the Cult Mechanicus.

"If you are not in this moon to rethink your beliefs and get closer with our priesthood what is the reason of your presence here?"

> Tell her the entire truth. Explain that you have a close friend that might enroll in the order and that you want to discover what kind of life will she have.

"I...I'm going to be honest. That's what the Emperor would have wanted right?"

You move some of the books away and lean aside, leaving her space to sit next to you.

"It's hard to explain. There is a girl, a woman I would even say. She had a rough life and was at the brink of death more times than I would have wished. She's a fighter, and very very loyal...I have heard that she will join the Sororitas Order that resides on this moon. I cannot tell you the source of this information but I can assure you that it is true."

You leaned back on your chair and felt the armor and your spine heavily pressing against the wooden frame, crackling it lightly.

"That woman is my only friend now. I have to admit that I even felt protective towards her from time to time. I don't think that it is love because I really don't understand that concept... I don't know. I am supposed to be a living library of information and knowledge and now I feel as if I knew nothing about what being human really means. I have come here even if it was completely illogical."

Using your hands you moved your hood forwards, not because you were afraid of scaring her with your aspect, you felt kind of shy and embarrassed speaking about all that.

"Now I am here, talking with you, a complete stranger about a topic that could get me into very serious problem. I'm in a moon were everybody distrusts and feels wary around me. There is way too many people and very few machines. I am stressed yet she anchors me there. I won't leave without an answer."
>>
>>40092594

She stood up, your anxiety levels spiked and ideas of her turning you over the authorities for investigating a secret topic aroused in your mind.

"Follow me." Was the only thing that she said with a stern and dominating voice.

In your mind two voices screamed at the same time, one asked you to run away, the other to follow her.

>Follow her silently and offer no resistance.
>Run away, try to meddle into the crowds, abandon your robes and get other clothing if necessary.

Even if she wore high heels her steps against the cold and hard marble floor made little to no sound. She moved between the shelves as if she knew the layer of the Library from memory. With her calculated and stealthy movements she ended taking you to a dead end. When she stopped she turned and looked at a particular bookshelf, she pulled from one book, that ended being a fake one that acted like a hidden lever. The book moved until it was in a 45º angle, then automatically moved back. With your keen senses you were able to hear old gears and mechanisms softly moving around you, then there was a soft wheeze behind you.

You turned and saw that the exit was no more, the corridor you went in was now blocked by a two shelves that were also hermetically sealed, maybe to act as a barrier in case of an attack.

The priestess continued moving books and other hidden switches, levers and buttons with such an speed and grace that not even you were able to record and remember her movements. The ground trembled for a second and the the floor divided descended into several layers forming a stair that went down below into a hidden chamber.

Without a doubt she descended, unable to go back you followed her close, the moment you two crossed the floor ascended again, forming a wall behind and enclosing you even more.

The place looked like a dungeon. There were rock walls, some of them seemed to be directly carved on the ground of the planet. Electronics were virtually unseen as illumination was proportioned by torches and most doors were made from simple wood. Then started walking again as she spoke.

"It is true that there is an Order of Sororitas on Ecantor. We are the ones that decide how much of it is told to the main population in the form of rumors and what is kept away."
>>
>>40093150
The dark corridors led to primitive looking rooms and warehouses. It seemed that the people inside lived in pretty poor conditions and that even a simple thing like a bunk bed was considered a gift among them. All the women that were inside had white hair, the youngest ones were completely naked and ran away or locked in their cells when they noticed your presence.

"Those rumors give to the million of females in this system a reason to be faithful. If we completely communicated the existence of this Order then the volunteers and inscriptions would ascend into uncontrollable levels. They would know that joining would be a way of leaving the system and we don't want that for multiple reasons. If anybody joins for such selfish reasons then she doesn't deserves to be called a Sister, besides Charonis needs the bulk power of all those untold women, we need them doing the menial works that they do right now. That's why it is a secret that will never see the light."

Your servoskulls illuminated the area as their sensors thought it was too dark.

"We cannot show you everything of course, your faction has its secrets and so do mine. I can show you the process that truly turns a woman into a Sororitas...If you can endure it."

>Do it, see the worst they have to offer.
>You have seen enough already. She would live in poverty and fear. Be respectful with the priestess and return to the Cruiser, try to convince Karelia and Nalasha into not turning Liwet into one of those Sisters.

"What kind of techpriest would I be if I didn't wanted to know what lies ahead?"

"If you are so eager to know and learn I have to tell you that technically this isn't an Order, but a Preceptory. This underground Convent can hold and train up to one thousand Sisters. It is led by me Prioress Angela."

"Greetings Prioress, I am-"

"I know who you are. Since our ties are so tight with the Ordo Hereticus we knew of the arrival of the Inquissitress, and with it of course came a report of its most close personnel. That of course includes you, Heracor."

You were kind of awestruck, what seemed like a coincidental meeting ended becoming a scheme, she surely intercepted your visit the instant you stood on the surface of the Moon.

"What does that report says?"

You were worried if it mentioned that you were AWOL from your forge, instead of giving you an answer she just smiled and continued walking.

She seemed to be stern but not so harsh as you initially judged. Walking deeper the place become more guarded, even with fully armed and equipped Battle-Sisters with power armor and flamers, it was a shame that you weren't able to fully study their equipment, all you could do was give them a quick glance as you passed by, from time to time dust fell from the ceiling, above the dim lights of surface and the voices of the people could be heard, this entire order seemed to cover the underground city you recently walked in.
>>
>>40093951

Her steps took you into a mechanized chamber that contrasted a lot with the rest of the convent. Looking at the great metallic door and its hydraulic hissing made you felt relaxed and homely. It lead to a chamber with a strap filled old looking chair that was covered with a circular crystal. It was a double sided crystal that let the people outside see the interior but acted as a mirror in the other side. Above the chair there was a big mechanical arm covered in strange tubes and cables and ended in what looked like a golden helmet that depicted a screaming face.

The circular floor around the chair changed in elevation becoming a spiral staircase. A minute later a naked girl, no more than fourteen ascended. It seemed to be cold as her breath was visible and her entire body was shivering. It seems that the testosterone levels during her still ongoing growth were of a higher concentration than what was normal, the woman had strong black pubes and body hair around her crotch, legs and armpits.

Somewhat scared she got on the chair and breathing heavily rested herself, placing her arms shortly after. The instant her two arms touched the arm holders a couple of silver looking shackles imprisoned her.

The golden helmet descended shortly after, opening to better enclose her entire head inside. She started screaming and weeping but her resistance was of no effort. Soon the helmet enclosed on her head, leaving only her brown eyes visible.

"She will now see thousands of frames of heretics and other dammed souls next to a high pitched scream, from time to time we also slid a subliminal frame with uplifting messages of loyalty towards the Imperium. This stage lasts ten minutes, after it we administer relaxing drugs and proceed to five minutes of litanies, chants and images of saints and specially the Emperor."
>>
>>40093970

Her description was way too technical to describe the horror she endured. There were about 18000 frames during those ten minutes, that meant almost twenty thousand horrifying pictures of witches, xenos and mutants compressed in only ten minutes.

When it started the girl didn't lasted an entire minute before she pissed herself, she tried to claw herself out of the machine desperately but the shackles proved to be too strong for her. After the seventh minute she seemed to enter into a terrible shock that turned all her pubes and hairs into an unnatural white color. During the following minutes she seemed irresponsible to any stimuli, barely reacting when then robotic arm extended and pierced her neck to inject the drugs.

After she was done the helmet open and released her. She was kind of bloated and had bruises, she surely head banged the interior of the helmet really bad while suffering the trial, her eyes were red and teary too, the hair of her head turned white as well.

"Now it's when the second phase begins. This is the determinant step. She will now look at herself into the mirrors that surround her, in case she finds mutating horrors and other nightmares in her reflection then that means that her mind is tainted and she isn't fit for being a true Sororitas..."

The shackles opened and the chair started inclining and tightening until it was completely flat, then it inclined until the poor girl fell to the floor. She stood in there for a long time and if she weren't sobbing I would have believed that she was dead. Slowly she stood up and looked in the mirrors. It was a weird experience because she didn't knew of our presence and thus looking at her made it all more inhumane. Her crying turned into rage and then into a despair filled desperation. Apparently she rejected the new pigmentation of her hair as she started to pull it off violently, scalping part of her head in the process.

Angela just gave a soft sigh and turned back to leave. As she opened the door you saw how two Sisters flamer in hand entered from above to purge her until she wasn't more than a blackened body.

"You can also participate if you desire...we open our arms to anybody that wants to test the purity of its soul..."

If you accepted you might end as insane as that little girl, it might not be as difficult for you thought as you had already seen some of those horrors already...

"Prioress Angela, working with the Inquisitress I already had my fair share of horrors and other nightmare inducing phenomena and creatures."

She raised her eyebrow in a clear indication of desire to know more, her experience working along the Ordos had taught her to be cautious and not too curious when it came to those topics thought.

"Still...I don't know if there is anything that I can do to stop Liwet from entering into this Preceptory...or if stopping her is the good thing to do. She's strong and loyal and I am sure she would have an successful future and career as as Sororitas yet still...I'm conflicted. I do not want her to suffer any harm."

The prioress gave you a hard look, for once you admitted your intent of stopping her into joining their ranks despite accepting that she would be an excellent Sister of Battle. She was a really expressive woman, even for someone like you that had a hard time empathizing she was as it's as clear as day. Her eyes right now were screaming you that she didn't had the answer, that only you had. This depended on you, and thus you had to take the trial, otherwise you wouldn't be able to be completely unbiased.

"I-I will do it."

Angela gave an order to a close Sororitas and she rushed towards and unknown location, only to return shortly after and grappling you. Before you could react the Sister armed with an electromagnetic device implanted two coil like cylinders on your forearms, rendering the entire limb irresponsible to your mental orders.

You were guided to an elevator that took you even deeper. In this level there seemed to be the schola were they were taught about both doctrines and military tactics. After walking across it you were pushed into what seemed a preparation room, the last step those students had to take before the fatal fire trial.
>>
Late here, I would have said yes, it'll increase our reputation to them anyway/
>>
>>40095087

"Very well...strip then."

You looked at her and shook your head lightly.

"You saw that girl doing the trial naked, the chamber is at minus fifteen Celsius. The cold makes them more susceptible to the imagery and sounds since their bodies will be weakened and unable to fight back more effectively. Do not think that I have never seen a naked man before. You have already accepted, strip now or face consequences."

Unable to fight back you removed your armor and then removed your robe and undergarments, revealing that way a slightly fit human torso connected to four bionic limbs and one skull made of metal.

"We will have to disable your weapons and arms, at least temporally. Unlike her, you might be strong enough to break the shackles."

After a quick shower the same spiral staircase that formed the last time formed in front of you. There was no going back.

Once above you looked at yourself reflected in the many mirrors, your reflections had reflections themselves making it look as if you were eternally multiplying into a fractal nightmare.

If your arms weren't disabled you would have been shaking. As you rested on the chair you noticed that the field of the electromagnetic devices weakened a little, only enough to let you place your arms on the shackles.

>>40095111
As the machine encloses your face you see and notice some electrical arcs forming in the forehead area of the interior of the helmet, apparently the images they were forced to saw were not physical but psychical in nature. Your mind...or whatever was wrong with your head would end rejecting them. You tried to move away from the chair but your arms were completely shut down.

Since the rest of your head was metallic too those arcs ended extending and multiplying until the completely encased your head into a ball of white-blue electricity, the last thing you noticed was your warpmask activating on its own as if it were alive and covering your face, your last thought was how the psychic energy would react with the warpsteel. From the outside only a faint trail of smoke and glowing eyes were seen.

Somehow the machine spirit that lived on that esoteric apparatus managed to cross your strange barrier. It seemed that possibly your blank soul or the warpsteel reaction had multiplied the effects of the machine. You weren't only seeing those images but finding yourself on them.

The first picture you found yourself at was a recorded pict-screen of a heretical cultist from an unknown god, it was all dressed in pink and black and looked to be suffering some kind of sensory overdose as s/he ripped the guts of a old woman. You were able to move and look around but everything that was out of the screen looked like an endless blur. You stood there for about five minutes before everything changed and you appeared inside another picture.
>>
>>40095946

It seemed that your mind connected with the memory of the machine in a psychic and digital level. Your mind was now nothing but one of the millions of impulses that any cogitator makes with their internal clocks. Time became warped to you and what was a small fraction of a second outside looked like several minutes to you.

As time passed your surrounds varied a lot but they all were frozen in time with the exception of the eyes, the eyes of everybody around in the pictures followed you eerily.

You started to make calculations. There were about 18000 pictures...with five minutes each. That would be sixty two days and twelve hours.

Since only a fragment of your mind was what was transported there your bodily functions remained anchored with their old metabolism. You didn't had the need to eat or use the bathroom, sleeping was an exception because your brain ended getting tired after about twenty hours and you required resting.
>>
>>40095957

Sleeping proved to you near impossible thought. Since every five minutes your surroundings changed if you lied on the floor of one picture you could find yourself above the ground in the next one, besides waking up the first week was a complete nightmare, every time you activated your lenses you would find yourself in a new and strange environment and surrounded by vile xenos, mutants or heretics that directly looked at you as if they were desiring to kill as violently as they could. You played with the idea of leaving the "frame" of the pictures and trying to enter the blur but the idea of becoming completely lost hold you back.

After the first month you were able to recognize several of the xenos races and the heretical iconography of the different ruinous powers, you lacked the knowledge to know what races most of those aliens were part of and what each icon represented thought.

You had plenty of time to read most of the Subliminal messages, when they appeared you found myself simply floating in a void with a giant inspiring text illuminating me.

The second part of the trial was way nicer. It showed happy soldiers and great cities and landscapes. It lasted about thirty days. Once again the people in those pictures were unable to do anything but follow you with his eyes.

When the wait was over you saw a flash of light blinding and pulling me back into your body. After that the first thing you noticed was the helmet ascending after leaving your head while leaking several oils, having some electrical discharges and ending with a small explosion that made part of it start to burn.
>>
>>40095972
You stood up and went towards the mirror. Looking at you felt like a bliss. When inside of the machine you weren't able to see your reflection anywhere but in the eyes of those foes that looked at you angrily.

When the first five minutes passed and your surroundings didn't changed you felt incredibly happy, you were back to the real world. Since you didn't acted violently they deactivated the coils, returning you the control of your arms.

( Heracor has gained some extra protection to chaos/heretical stuff and now can recognize several xenos and icons, yet he still doesn't knows what do they represent )

If the Prioress Angela want to educate us on what we saw was, that'd be great.
>>
>>40095993
>It seems that only fifteen minutes in the real world. Try to fix their machine and lie saying that it was some kind of glitch because of the proximity of the coils that they placed on you.

Angela looked at you with incredulity on her eyes. A sensible machine of a great value that has worked perfectly has now been broken by one of the same cult that promised to protect that same technology.

"I-I think that the effect of the coils being so close together could have fused their areas of effect into one of a bigger diameter that reached the delicate and sacred mechanisms of the helmet and damaged it internally. It is a wonderful piece of machinery thought, its spirit lasted and fought until the end, it has been able to show me its pictures after all."

"You don't seem very shook about what you have seen." She said somewhat angry, first you broke her machine, and then you are unaffected by it. This was slowly becoming personal. "I know I am not part of your order and that your desires are against this Preceptory but if I discover that you tried to sabotage I will denounce you as an Heretek. Do not believe that this will stop Liwet Hermann from becoming a Sororita."

"I swear by the Emperor and the Omnissiah that I did not manipulate the helmet nor its internal components. And to prove my willingness to cooperate I offer myself to repairing its internal workings to turn it usable as soon as possible."
>>
>>40097017

You became forbidden from leaving until the machine was repaired but were given an Astropatic call and you were able to contact Eugen and Faust to take care of Alaria while you were out.

Since you were still a guest and a suspect of sabotage and possible tech-heresy the techpriest that came to aid you instead tried to stop any of your efforts of helping. At the end you desisted and just rested lying against the cold walls with a couple of Sisters looking and blocking you while the others worked. Technically Angela ordered you to repair it but since they didn't wanted you to get closer to the internal mechanisms or the blueprints you couldn't do much more than look from a long distance.

With the machine repaired you were given a free way to go and the warning that if you spoke about the underground location you would be declared traitoris and hunt down.

You spent the last days before the hunt resting. You really needed to rest, otherwise your stress and anxiety would accumulate incredibly. You ended placing the ship statuette hanging from a string above of your bed. You slept every night with the image of a ship above your head and for some reason that made you slept tighter.

The last day before the Hunt we all packed our things and got a transport that carried us towards the moon of Heptium Cuatt.

Orbiting the moon there was a ship of the Imperial Navy that you didn't managed to recognize. With your five thousand Skitarii on board all your team was guided to a massive war room with giant holo-screens were everything was going to be explained. There were more than two thousand people all crammed inside, most seemed to be guardsmen of some short.

The face of a scar ridden General that had several tribal trophies hanging around his uniform appeared, it was projected with massive dimensions to make his message reach everybody.

"AS YOU ALL KNOW THIS YEAR THE HUNT HAS BEEN FORWARDED! FIND YOURSELF LUCKY AS IT MEANS THAT YOU WILL GRADUATE SOONER AND LAUNCH YOURSELF OUT OF THIS SYSTEM WERE A LIFE FULL OF ENEMIES TO CRUSH AND PLANETS TO CONQUER AWAITS! ALL OF YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE BASIC TRAINING ALREADY AND ARE USED ON THE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF WEAPONS AND ARMOR BUT DUE TO THESE EVENTUALITIES SOME OF YOUR COURSES HAVE END UNFINISHED! WORRY NOT BECAUSE THERE ARE AREAS IN THIS SHIP THAT HAVE BEEN PREPARED TO TEACH AN ADVANCED COURSE OF THOSE TOPICS, EVERYBODY, GUARDSMEN OR NOT IS WELCOME! THE COURSES WILL BE THE FOLLOWING ONES; SURVIVAL! HEPTIUM'S TERRAIN STUDY! VEHICLE DRIVING! AND FINALLY KROOT ANATOMY AND MENTALITY! "

The image changed to show a map of the planet and then returned back to his battle hardened face.
>>
>>40097066

"YOU WILL HAVE TO SURVIVE TWO ENTIRE WEEKS ON THE PLANET, KILL AT LEAST TWO DIFFERENT KROOT AND KEEP A PROOF OF IT. AFTER THOSE TWO TRANSPORT VALKYRIES WILL ARRIVE TO THE DESIGNATED RENDEZVOUS POINTS TO TAKE YOU OFF."

His face disappeared to show a list of rules.

>1. Each participant will be only issued with rations for three days. After that it will have to hunt and collect its own sustenance. Feeding from fallen Kroot is heresy.
>2. The barbarous Kroot have no chance against our mighty tanks and airships. In a vain attempt to show them the meaning of honor and chivalry we won’t use our mighty vehicles to make their pitiful existence slightly fairer. As an exception each team will be given a couple of Chimera transports without any weapon installed on them.
>3. Stealing possessions or killing proofs from another participant is forbidden, if this happens both thief and affected will be abandoned on the planet.
>4. Any participant without at least two kills and proof of it won’t be permitted to enter into the ships. In case this participant doesn't achieves two kills with its designated proofs in less than the 48 hours it will be abandoned.
>5. Killing other teammates it’s forbidden and punishable with death.
>6. We cannot let the Xeno have our glorious Imperial technology. Any participant that manages to achieve the necessary objectives and also manages to return weapons, armor and personal possessions from fallen participants will be rewarded accordingly. Obviously any participant whose actions lead to the enemy possession of Imperial technology will be severely punished.
>7. There will be Commissar on each Imperial team. Their protection is vital and they do not have to have to follow the rules.
>8. They Commissars won’t meddle with the teams that aren't from the Imperial Guard but in case the situation requires it they have the right to extend their command as they see fit.
>>
>>40097106

This was it. There was no going back now. In a few hours you would make planetfall and not return to safety in a long time. There were two main decision that you had to make now. One was what course would you take, and the second if you would participate with your army or instead go with the Inquisitress and Nalasha in their private hunt.

If you went with your army that would let you bond more with them...if you went with the Inquisitress you might had chance to stop them from making Liwet join the Sororitas.

Pic related is the Legendarium. There will be 4 teams of 250 persons of the Guard. The first team will be the most elite on and with the least psykers, and so on. There will be two teams of Skitarii of 250 persons each. There will be only one team of penal guards with 50 persons. There is also an extra team of private hunters with guards around, this is where the Governess and you will be.

The dices were to decide were are they dropped. I will update the pic now with their landing locations.

>>40097794
Thanks for running Axsisel. How are Alaria and the girls? Did Karelia hear about what we did to the machine? How freaked was the prioress?
>>
>>40097867
Why do you think they will be wiped? Because they are fewer in number? They are thought motherfuckers and won't have to cross any are with major Kroot activity to reach a rendezvouz point.

About the Skitarii they have it pretty easy, they have to go straight to the points and will cross a heavy area where they can get loadsa kills.
>>
>>40097794
How the 3rd imperials will get to an extraction point is gotta be interesting. I doubt they have shipbuilding experts.
>>
>>40097912
>How are Alaria and the girls?
Liwet is worried because she will be separated from her "mother", "sister", friend ( Alaria ) and her mentor ( Heracor ). She's also kind of excited about becoming a Sororitas thought.

Mellizune and Alaria are very happy together because she they don't freak out at the oddities of each others like most people do.

>Did Karelia hear about what we did to the machine?
Karelia will hear about the machine sooner or later, discovering weird stuff is part of her job after all.

>How freaked was the prioress?
>>
>>40097921
The penal guard will have to go around rough terrain which means late, or through kroot lands to slip through the rough terrain.

1st skiitari team has a straight shot to a point and can avoid or attack as the choose, team two can go around rough terrain and skirt the edges while collecting kills, then leg it too the point. We have an easy shot to the point, and no other teams can really interact with us except IG with chimaeras. So I recon it'll be easyish to get kills, but with how easy it is i'm worried about backstab.
>>
>>40098006
They better study the terrain and try to see if there are shallow bodies of water they can cross with the chimeras or by walking across, otherwise they are pretty fucked.

>>40098023
In the rules it says that every team will be given a few weaponless chimeras. That also includes the Penals and the Skitarii. Those chimeras are mostly for transporting the wounded or protecting the Commissars.
>>
>>40098112
Chimaeras count as amphibious vehicles though. They can move freely in water as long as it's isn't an ocean at storm. (shame no one but techpreists think about it. You also didn't answer the how freaked the prioress was.

Our men have all their gear primed and ready right?

>>
>>40098204
So our men who take the biology coruse will know to prioritize rockets for gnarlocs, and krootox?
>>
>>40098245
Yeah. Each of the Skitarius will take each course as they see fit. We will get a bonus depending on which one we have taken:

>Driving:
We gain the ability to drive chimeras and other similar tanks.
>Survival:
How to hunt, cook and make traps. How to collect water and detect poisonous plants, stuff like that.
>Kroot anatomy and study:
Their evolutionary capabilities, their different subspecies...
>Terrain Study:
How to read the maps and more details about the planet itself.
