As far as battle plans go, it looks like Mina's gonna be the primary muscle with Charlotte as the secondary to take out his backup should whoever it is show themself, and I'll be the support with lightshows and all that. Makes sense.

Kick his ass, kick his backup's ass, detain them and then make them tell us what the hell's going on. A decent enough plan as far as I'm concerned. The only question at this point is what to do with them after we find out what we want to find out.

With everything settled, we officially begin the operation. Having opted not to split up the group, we instead go the direct route, with Theresa taking the lead and Mina right behind her. Me and Charlotte trail after them, mostly because Charlotte can't actually see Theresa right now.

And because I kind of suck at running for prolonged stretches of time.

"He's still in the bar..." Charlotte says as we get closer. "Just got the Synapse from him."

No, this isn't my time to act. Instead, I slowly back away as Mina... does the same?

"That's what I thought," Morrissey laughs as he points the gun right at her. "Now if you wouldn't mind backing the hell off beforGHAAAAAAAAAAA!"

His shrill cries of pain are timed with the sudden appearance of Mina's armor... and it's crushing his gun like it was a piece of paper. Along with his gun HAND.

Wow that looks painful.

"Now let's try this again," Mina says, willing her armor to let go of the man's hand and what's left of his gun. Or the other way around, it's pretty much interchangeable at this point.

Gritting his teeth from the pain, he clutches his mangled hand.

And suddenly he looks just fine.

"Wha?" Charlotte stares at him.
"I can use it on myself too, you stupid bitch," he says.

Having lost whatever advantage he thought he had, Morrissey begins to back away from Mina and her armor.

"I don't know how the hell you managed that," he says, "but if you think you're just gonna ambush me and-"

Without warning, he doubles over in pain. Did his little trick wear off that quickly?

I can't see her anywhere around, but Theresa must be taking full advantage of her invisibility to screw with this guy. That's probably how Mina got her armor so close to him without him noticing, too.

Now that I've actually gotten a good chance to see them in action, Mina and Theresa make for a pretty scary team.

"Cecile, are you-" Charlotte glances at me and lets go of my hand.
"I'm okay," I reply. "Thanks for looking out for me."

I don't even know what the hell happ-

"Damn, I missed," a man says, pouting like a kid who just missed a basketball shot in gym class. "There's always next time, though..."

Dusting off his hands, he starts towards me and Charlotte as casually as can be. She stretches out her hand in front of me and pushes me behind her...

"Let me guess," Charlotte snarls, "you're his 'backup.'"
"And you'd be right, Miss Gauthier," the red-haired man replies with a carefree smile. "Now if you'd mind letting Wayne here go, we might be able to get out of this without too much trouble, yes? I'm sure that my colleague's hand here is payback enough for what he did to yours the last time you met..."
