The beeping of your alarm clock awakens you, as per normal. With a groggy hand, you slap it down and return to blissful silence. "I don't know, I wasn't thinking with my brain!" You answer back, also panicked. You trade questions and a lack of answers back and forth for a second before both calming down slightly.

"Is... there a way to tell?" Saito asks, hugging the blanket to her breast. "Without a hospital! I-I don't want 'Aoi Saito' on any pregnancy registers!" She adds, chattering.

Yuuki goes back inside but you linger on it for a second before he's out of sight. With that scare over, you collapse on the couch and breathe easy again. Almost on cue, you hear the sound of footsteps on the stairs as Hana comes into view, bearing bedhair more dishevelled than you. No-one in this family is morning person.

"Haa~ morning." She yawns, still tired. Maybe it was a good thing Saito left when he did. She busies herself with breakfast and coffee to wake herself up whilst you join Yuuki in the garden. He lifts up the secret hatch leading to his spot lab under the house and you two descend into it. The dug-out tunnels are as forboding as before, but it actually feels nicer down here. Yuuki must have finally put in a heater.

"Okay, so you can show me this thing of yours but I have a few questions first." You tell him as the two of you head to the lift.

"Go ahead," Yuuki replies as you two step in and he hits on a room button, "I know you missed our operation, but I was there for it." He leans against the wall.

"Alright, why do you have the unbound focus?" You ask first. "Weren't we only getting Shun's one out? Plus, it kind of belongs to Momoko." You point out.

"The original plan was to just bring Shun's out, but I realised that we might not have another chance like this, so..." He rubs the back of his neck. "I took all of them out. All the ones you reclaimed, obviously."

"Research... into what?" You ask, stepping out as the lights flick up. You blink and barely believe your eyes as you see a huge robotic frame standing in the hangar before you. Four-legged, with a swivvel-mounted torso and four mounted arms, along with some kind of ribbed tail with a crystal-mounted tip; it looks more like a monster than a robot. Yuuki giggles with joy.

"Meet MantiCore! My attempt at a synthetic focal-bearing construct. A robotic magical girl!" He explains proudly. "... Okay, maybe not a 'magical girl', but the theory is the same."

You stare in awe of this metallic megalith for a few seconds, wondering exactly why Yuuki thought a giant four-armed scorpion was the best idea or why it isn't an actual Manticore. Did he just take the name because it sounded cool? Well, he is a kid. All you can say is-

"So COOL!" You gush, holding your cheeks as you look over the robot.

"I know, right!?" Yuuki exclaims. "I designed it using a series of extraterrestrial organisms as a base, in order to truly capture the organic appearance, despite a metallic design." He explains, laying a hand at one of it's colossal feet. "And not just because those animals all look really cool."

"No, I'm fairly certain that was the reason you made this." Another, robotic voice pipes up. You briefly wonder if the spider droid is speaking, but then realise it's coming from the facility itself. "Good morning, Makoto. What do you think of my-"

"AHEM!" Yuuki coughs.

"...my latest experiment?" Robo asks. Yuuki fumes a little, but they are still the same entity, technically.

"This is so going to turn evil in the future." You say flatly, looking it up and down. Both of them scoff at your concerns.

"You can't make a program evil, Makoto." Yuuki says with confidence. "Trust me." Somehow you doubt that.

"I guess it's impressive but I thought a focus could only bind with a person?" You ask, looking up and down, having to tilt your body to see all of it.

"Yes, if we intended on binding the focus to something." Robo answers.

"This is a different method. Rather than creating the symbiotic fusion you're familiar with, this machine is designed to exploit the focus in a different way and convert energy from the traditional reactor into your magical powers." Yuuki explains. The robots are double-teaming you now, and not in a fun way. "Potentially with the system we've created, we could mimic the powers of any focus we've extensively studied. Even your purification."

whenever i put down an or i mean it in the Single transferable vote sense. IE count it as the first thing but if that loses count it as the other thing. This is roughly equal to counting it as both so you could just do that (thus it cant hurt the thing the voter wants and as long as you are consistent it is a reasonably fair way to make group decisions).
