Welcome back to the Minotaur Civilization Quest!

When we last left our people, a daring raid had just succeeded in bringing back the royal baby from the, what we presume to be, cruel and evil Fungals. After a short debacle involving numerous hulking Colossi attempting to cross a narrow bridge to another continent, a torture session that rivals Gitmo, and a blue screen, our army has reached the village of Cuth. Here we're entrenched, surrounded on all sides but our backs, which happen to be pressed into the sea. The walls guard us, killing any and all life that touches them, but this includes us. Have we doomed ourselves?

>Nah, I think we're good.

Some of the patrols have reported odd stone structures to the north of Cuth. Standing tall among the leafy canopy of the jungle, short beings with beards of varying colors stand atop them. A single runner is sent to find out who these beings are. Despite gratuitous amounts of lethal flora and fauna, he manages to make his way there, soon being spotted by the beings.

The figure before the scout is, tiny. Like, wow. This makes the halflings look tall. He, if it is a he, has so much heavy armor on it's honestly a miracle he hasn't collapsed from the heat.

>"Vell...Vhat is it you vant? Do you even underztand vhat I am saying?"

The creature points a shining crossbow at the scout, glowing bright blue at the end. After a few tense moments, he lowers it for but a moment to call for what you assume to be his superior, and the scout takes this oportunity to bolt right the fuck out of there. They seem like an odd bunch.

Considering how recently the most important baby in the kingdom was recently brought back (mostly) unharmed, traditional drug fueled orgies are to be expected. However, this one is special. Love has prevailed, despite going against a force comprised of pure hate, and sex is seen as a massive middle finger to the Fungals.

>Babby makin'

Men and women take turns being used by the the village, each put into a massive lust and driven by drugs and desire (though mostly drugs). It doesn't matter what you are. Human and Tauren are blurred for several nights and days. At the end, a whole week is dedicated to cleaning up the, spillage.

The Big Bloody Connection, as the locals call it, is currently the only option to get to Cuth. Only problem is it takes so fucking long to walk along the bridge. As such, some have taken to using Steamers (Steam-powered ships) as a quicker alternative. They're not the best though, with ridiculous amounts of smoke and seasickness aren't very welcoming.

The Sleephite swords are rather interesting, considering how training can't really be done as most would burst into flames. They're stowed away, seen as a last resort weapon for the defense.

>2: Funsies.
Some of the citizens in Gorric want to get some help from the Deep Ones in dealing with the Fungals. As such, a single ship is sent out, filled with people and laden down with gifts to more or less bribe the Deep Ones for their aid. Sadly, no one could have foreseen the massive hurricane that swept across the sea. Few remains could be found on the surface, though many bits of bodies washed up onto the shores. One note was found, crammed into a piece of wood and written in blood.

>DEEP ONES TAKE FAMILY. TAKE WIFE. TAKE CHILDREN. FIND. KILL. I DIE.

>A2: Army
>52+5=57: Average!
The natural bloodlust that flows through your people has come into full force, with a peak amount of your people's male population enlisted. This leaves only those too weak, too young or old, or women to run everything. You best win this, or you'll be caught with your pants down.
>+500 to army size!

The carts your people have used since the Age of Ahdrag are carved with the Levitation runes, and it's found that when attached to a set of steel rails, they manage to travel far quicker than any Tauren. Soon enough, platforms of stone are being used to stand atop the walls and move about the kingdom quickly, even to Cuth!

Well, I was just going to sacrifice them. But with the 34 roll...

>A5: Deep Ones
>87: Great success!
The news of the sunken diplomatic envoy spreads like wildfire along the transit routes. Jingoistic fever has come down over the people and many take to the streets, demanding war for this, not completely comprehending the Deep Ones didn't actually sink the damn thing. Nevertheless, Tsunami takes this opportunity to speak with them, sitting alone on the beach with only the starry night and constant waves to accompany him. Soon enough a fin penetrates the foamy waters and a Deep One crawls up onto the sands. It looks up to Tsunami, eyes glazed with water.
>"You here for ship?"
He nods.
>"Ship gone. Down in trenches. No go. People?"
He repeats the previous action.
>"Apologies. King need wife. Queen need husband. People taken to different Royals. No retrieve."
It slinks back into the sea like so many others before it.

>A6: Captives
>34: HOT DAMN LUCKY NUMBERS
The last thing you recall seeing is your Tauren husband sprinting towards you among the splinters of the deck, then going under. You look up, black hair matching the room as you manage to crane your head about to see your two young children, a boy and a girl, chained to the wall. Trying to move your hands towards them, you find you yourself are shackled. A blinding light appears before you, and a feeling of calm comes with it.
>"Worry not my child. No harm will come here. Merely change. Your leader's actions have ensured that."
It is gone, but is soon replaced by the horrid face of a Deep One with a noticeable bulge between it's legs.
>"Must change for spouse. Sorry for harm."
You let out a scream, then blackness.
>R3: Furnace
>90+5=95: Amazing success!
While your current furnaces (little more than pots with holes smashed in the sides) are fine and dandy, proper techniques are soon found to make an efficient(er) furnace. Soon enough all of the blacksmiths on the mainland adopt it.

More or less this started as a request for a new Civ quest. This spiraled into me GM-ing the Minotaurs in an arctic tundra. Here they were hunted by White Beasts, creatures of ice that saw the Tauren as little more than food. After a short time we more or less created the Awaken, stone constructs that are nominally pacifist. They've been integrated into our society and seen as perfectly normal. With the passing of our first leader (Munhal, a kin-killer) we had the apprentice Ahdrag to take his place. Here we ran into the man William (currently around 30 years old for a frame of reference), a highlander from the Human Clans to the south. Imagine your stereotypical Scotsman/Irishman and that is what I based them off of. A scout also sacrificed himself to an Elder Being, which would later culminate in a massive battle that would end with Ahdrag's death. This led to Brakla taking the throneWe soon discovered the White Beasts were Snow Elves, and that they were a slaver race. Scouting them out resulted in Brakla being held captive (Low roll). One siege later and we set our sights on the New World. Here we found the Fungals, sentient mushrooms hellbent on consuming the world (universe). They kidnapped the royal baby and we just managed to get the little bugger back.

Not having to constantly blow on molten metal while more is dropped from above leads to a massive boom in production. During this time, the miners report finding a strange blue metal deep underground. After heating it to approximately HOLY FUCK THIS IS HOT, it's found that the strange ore is almost indestructible by physical means, though magic makes it crumple like paper in Tauren hands.
>A8: Trading
>75: Above average success!
The Steamers peddle back and forth between the mainland and Cuth, making sure to travel in packs out of fear of the Deep Ones. It is found that the sand in the New World, while nominally as grainy as any other, frequently clumps together around Mag-Ice. This soon sets off a fashion trend, any many people clamor for more of this sand.
>Trade established between the mainland and New World!

>96+5+5+5=111: Holy shit
The boys n' girls down in the T&R buildings have been busy cranking away at various bits and bobs of wood, stone, and the occasional bit of flesh. The end result of this mindless tinkering is a piece of carved tropical wood with a small spiral engraving, two lines, and a dash etched into it. Upon touch, the researcher finds himself in a state of sheer bliss, and is mentally transported to the realm of the gods. Here he meets the God of Air, who greets him with:
>"Yo...So, you mortals finally figured out how to get here? Haven't seen that since those synthetics all those years ago...Nevertheless, welcome!"

SPECIAL EVENT!

As of late, there has been a noticeable drifting smoke coming from the human highlands. Up until now you’ve assumed that it was just new settlements’ fires. As such, when a runner came from the Chief, you were a bit surprised to say the least.
>To King Brakla
>As you may have noticed, there has been an abundance of smoke in our lands. Now, this is NOT us, but instead an individual human. He wears a mask of blackened leather, with gaping holes carved where his(?) eyes should be. Instead of proper highland garb, he goes about with a crude set of armor of the same material as the mask, dyed dark blue with a flame etched into the side. With him he carries a steel staff that spews fire whenever he wills it. The masked figure also appears to be a bit off of his rocker, considering how roughly half of all he comes into contact with is soon up in flames. We’d like some assistance in dealing with this bugger.

>73: Above average success!

It wasn’t that hard to find this figure, considering how they made it rather obvious with the GIANT BURNING TREES and billowing stacks of smoke coming from his or her general direction. Tsunami was easily able to track them.Though what was hard was getting through to him while your eyes were watering and you were constantly hacking up your lungs from the smoke. They speak in a hushed, muffled tone, and the normally comprehensible accent is rendered gibberish. A short chase later and you pin them to a tree, albeit with them struggling. Yanking off the mask, you find that it is indeed a woman, with firey red hair and freckles to match her pine green eyes. She speaks, unhindered by the smoke.

>"Wha do ya wan' ya beasty boy? If yer lookin' fer action I'd sooner burn meself alive."

Tsunami's guttural voice pierces through the smoke as his hand pins her.

>"Simple, I love firre. It's beautiful danc', the way it warms me heart on a cold night, an' how it got me away from that bastard Brrian back in the highlands!"
Tsunami cocks his head to the side, perplexed by what to do with this woman. Suddenly she slips from his grip, and out into the wilds. She's lost for now. Most likely you'll find her...
