You decide to train with your sister until your friends arrive. After all, it's not like she would have given you much choice anyway (the moment she found out you didn't have school she attempted to drag you back out the door).

The two of you go to the field where you normally train, and stand across from one another. You drop into fighting stances, and the match begins.

Drake fights with great ferocity and determination. Her technique is exceptional, her speed and power remarkable for one so young. You have found that she makes a wonderful sparring partner, as her skill and technique makes up for how much weaker she is than you.

After the first exchange, only a single hit has been lander. You managed to land a punch in Drake's gut, and se quickly moves back to recover and plot her next attack.

You don't give her much time, rushing forward and throwing another barrage of melee attacks.

Drake quickly mounts a defense, dodging, blocking, and parrying your attacks. Still, it quickly becomes apparent that she can't continue for long, and so throws an energy wave, striking you in the chest and pushing you away from her.

You lock onto her energy, then teleport behind her. Drake has seen this many times before, but reacts a second too slowly, and receives a kick that sends her falling towards the ground below.

She stops herself from hitting the ground, and fires another pair of energy attacks up at you. You swat them aside and prepare to attack, only to see that Drake is no longer looking at you. Instead, she's looking in mild confusion at something on the ground not far from her.

Following her gaze, you see a girl in pink and white. She has a serious expression, and her hands on her hips. Her outfit and hair are different, but her shoes and gloves are the same, as is that expression on her face.

"Am I early, or is Gohan just late?" Videl asks.

At the same instant you say that, both you and Drake move, trying to catch one another off guard. The end result is you landing a punch while she blasts you in the face. You're both thrown backwards and land on the ground.

Videl shakes her head. "I'm ready to get started, but shouldn't we wait for Gohan? Will we be able to help him with the cuffs if we're already using them when he gets here?"

She shrugs, looking to your sister, who in turn looks at you pleadingly, silently begging for you to go find Gohan so she can train with Videl.

"Fine, sounds good. You two have fun," you say, taking off into the sky.

You make your way to Gohan's home, finding him outside training with Gohan and Goku. All three of them are Super Saiyans, and sparring quite intensely. Goten's power is greater than you might have expected, and you can see why Drake was determined to get as much training as possible.

Goku throws a pair of energy blasts. Gohan blocks the one that reaches him, but Goten is blown back. The two older men of the family charge each other, fighting fiercely as they try to land hits on one another.

"The first time I tried this, it took a while for me to be able to move around normally," you remind them.

"I remember," Videl tells you.

With the warning out of the way, you and your friends create energy cuffs, putting energy into them in order to make it harder to move.

All three of you immediately fall on your faces.

"Wow, these are intense," Videl says, grunting as she tries to push herself up.

"Yeah, no kidding," Gohan agrees, trying to transform into a Super Saiyan, which only makes it worse for him.

It takes nearly an hour for the three of you to be able to walk around, much less train. So, you spend the majority of the day in basic movements, talking with one another as you struggle to adapt to the cuffs.

By day's end, you're able to move around fairly easily. And Gohan and Videl decide to head home.

Dinner is interesting, as you all try to hide your weakness from your family and Dragon. Sixteen, however, is clearly able to tell that something is amiss, but, remembering your prior training, does not worry.

Weeks pass, and you continue to balance school with training. Soon, the day of the tournament arrives.

Your parents are getting a ride to the island from your uncle, but Drake wants to fly there instead.

"Can we, please?" she asks you with a smile.

The ride is pleasant, as your uncle is quite excited to see you fight again, and your father seems to be enjoying catching up with his brother.

Keeping Drake calm enough to get the ship there in one piece is something of a challenge, but you manage to keep her focus by asking her about fighting her friends in the tournament.

"They're all super strong!" she tells you. "I hope I can beat them!"

"You'll do great, sweetie," your mother assures her.

Upon arriving on the island, the first thing everyone wants to do is locate the others.

"Well, look who's here," Nappa says as he approaches with his family.

He is, unsurprisingly, wearing his battle armor. Bailey is wearing a jacket and jeans, and Cabba is wearing battle armor of her own. Cabba and Drake run to each other excitedly, talking about the upcoming fight, while you and Nappa take a moment to assess one another's strength.

"You feel weaker than normal, kid," he tells you.

You haven't taken your cuffs off yet, so that's to be expected.

"Tell me, you wouldn't happen to be using cuffs again, would you?" Tien asks, lifting his arms.

You see his wrists shimmer, and he smirks as he brings his arms back down.

"You're not the only one who's been doing some intense training," Yamcha tells you, chuckling. "We borrowed a trick or two from you. Gotta say, those cuffs were a real pain to play baseball in for a while. And my girlfriend was annoyed whe-well, nevermind."

Tien's face reddens a bit, and he gives Yamcha a disapproving glance. "Yamcha, is this really something you should be talking about here?"

You look to see Krillin and Eighteen approach with their daughter. Though, with you still getting used to Krillin having hair it takes you a moment to recognize your old friend.

"Krillin, glad you could make it," Tien greets.

"Wouldn't miss it," Krillin replies. "And the wife wouldn't let me even if I wanted to."

You see concession stands set up everywhere, and crowds of people in line for them, or making their way to the stands so they can grab their seats. The Junior Division will probably be starting shortly, and you hope the preliminaries will as well.

You see a large crowd of recorders swarming a particular area, and hear music playing. Lifting into the sky, you see that Hercule and Videl have arrived.

Hercule is performing boisterously for the crowd, while Videl looks generally annoyed. You see her say something, and she pushes through the reporters, her father laughing behind her and regaining their attention.

Videl stops near a tree, and seems to grow more annoyed as she says something else. You land not far away, and hear her talking to Sharpner, who appears to be trying to flirt with her.

Videl quickly brushes him off and walks away, her expression softening a bit when she sees you.

"Hey, Kaguya!" she greets, a smile working its way onto her face.
