You are Ur'shal, Chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan, Warlord of the Wastes, and owner of a new set of magic gauntlets which channel lightning. It's the little things in life.

You left Ashuris' pet elf, whatever his name is, to tend to his mistress, and spent the rest of the day relatively uneventfully, wandering the camp to make sure everyone was adjusting to the new pack structure, breaking up a few fights, sparring with Dru'ak, doing chieftain stuff. There's still no sign of Zo'rok by the time the sun sets and you return to your hut, you can only hope nothing has happened to your old friend, it's hard to imagine that Or'kaz would be a match for him and an entire pack, but there's plenty of other dangers out in the wastes.

You awaken to the sound of commotion in the camp, rolling a sleeping Lokasi off of your chest. Gods, the woman even frowns in her sleep. Dressing yourself you step out into the already burning hot morning sun, the hot season now well underway.

Following the sounds, you spot your old friend, back from his mission and in one piece no less. Zo'rok is carrying some sort of bundle in his arms, and one of the larger members of his pack has an unconscious and groaning Or'kaz slung over his shoulder.

“Thought you'd gotten lost out there,” you grin, the orcs parting as you step forward to clap your friend on the shoulder.

“Lost? Please, the best hunter in the Stonetusk Clan never gets lost,” he snorts.

“Second best, I think. So what's this?” you ask, glancing across as the comatose old orc drooling onto the unfortunate warrior carrying him.

“Yeah, things got weird out there. Want to go talk about this in private?”

We should ask Za'ria if she thinks Lokasi is broken enough we could spar with her without it turning into a murder attempt. She roughed us up pretty well before we beat her, so it could be a useful excercise, and as a warrior it would probably cheer her up quite a bit

“Weird? Let's go see Ku'zag then.”

“He's going to be real happy to see us this early,” Zo'rok cackles.

You head for Ku'zag's tent, Zo'rok telling the orc carrying Or'kaz to follow you, sending the rest away. You find the old shaman sat on a rock just outside his tent, carving a bone talisman of some sort. He squints up at you in the harsh sunlight, his weathered face wrinkling up as his gaze moves across your group.

“You found him then.”

“Yeah, he wasn't exactly hard to follow,” Zo'rok sighs, gesturing for the orc to put the unconscious Or'kaz on the ground before sending him away.

“So what happened?” you grunt, eyeing the bundle wrapped up in furs in Zo'rok's arms.

“Like I said, trail wasn't exactly hard to follow, Or'kaz just went in a straight line from here south-west. He wasn't trying to cover his tracks, and the dead animals and gaunts he was leaving behind were a big giveaway too,” Zo'rok snorts.

You frown, while you do know that Or'kaz is no weakling, it's hard to believe he could do that much single-handed.

“So anyway, we're following him, finding mangled crag lions and needlebacks and a whole bunch of gaunts all smashed up and burning. I figured your advice not to try and bring him back by force might be a good one, you know.” Zo'rok shrugs.

Ku'zag listens silently, a deep frown etched across his features, you can't help but feel that the old shaman knows something.

“So anyway, he goes into some cave down the side of a crevasse, we follow him in, looks like it was part of a base for some clan in the past or something. Or'kaz just walked right on in, smeared some big scaly thing living in there across the wall and kept going.”

“Smeared it across the wall?”

“Just grabbed the thing by the head and smashed it into the wall, turned its skull to pulp.” Zo'rok grins, miming the motion in graphic detail, slapping a palm against the wall of a nearby hut.

>>
>>39951406
You nod, waiting for your friend to continue.

“Found him in some old forge way in the base of the caves. It was all lit up and he was just there hammering away without a care in the world. Now, I wasn't exactly eager, but I figured I could go talk to him, staying out of reach of course, see what he was doing.”

Zo'rok glances down at the unconscious Or'kaz, scratching his chin.

“Or'kaz turns around with fire in his eyes, and that's not a figure of speech, he's puffing out smoke from his mouth, and he just says 'My work isn't finished' in this weird voice, then turns back around and starts hammering on the forge again.”

“Possession?” you ask, looking over to Ku'zag, but the old shaman keeps silent.

“Maybe? Anyway, he's hammering away for hours, I was wondering if he was just going to stay there forever, when suddenly he steps back from the forge, turns around and goes 'it is done'. The fire in the forge goes out on its own and the old bastard passes out flat right there.”

Your frown, looking at the bundle in Zo'rok's arms.

“Is that it?”

“Yeah,” Zo'rok grunts, pulling away the furs to reveal a breastplate, grey and black metal, heavy and solid, simple but imposing. It's hardly fancy compared to some of the other pieces you've seen, but even to your untrained eye you can tell that this is a piece of peerless craftsmanship.

“It was one of the Masters of the Black Forge. A divine servant of Zul'orok Zhar. It seems the Iron God was pleased with your victory over the Tonguerippers, Ur'shal,” Ku'zag says, breaking his silence as he rises to his feet, gingerly placing a bony hand on the breastplate.

He probably kept moving for more than a whole day, a lot of it serious work(smithing), and also he got his physical stats bumped beyond recognition(smashing a lizard's brain to pulp with his bare hands).
Probably just exhausted.
But yeah, ask Ku'zag if he's gonna be alright, he probably knows about this kinda stuff.
>>
>>39951545
I was thinking maybe some lovey dovey sex with her? Not going rough, just pulling her close and slowly having sex with some kissing and talking maybe?
I also thought about getting another elf(not as a slave or anything) so Lokasi has someone to spend time with or something, but Lordy said that's not what her problem is.
I've also thought about going back to the jungle, so she can be tsun and show us the wonders of her homelandd, then find out how much she enjoys our company or something? I don't know.
>>
“Is he going to be okay?” you grunt, nodding down at Or'kaz.

While Ku'zag lifts himself to his feet you take the breastplate from Zo'rok, turning it in your hands to admire it from all angles. It's heavy, but not too heavy, a good solid weight, and it looks like it was made to fit you perfectly.

Seeing no reason not to do this right here, you lift the breastplate, adjusting the tough leather straps with ease. The whole thing just seems to slip into place on your chest with ease over the rough chain shirt.

It feels damn good, and it looks like something an orcish warlord, a real one, should wear, hard-wearing, unbreakable and intimidating.

“He's fine, just worn out from the strain of being possessed for so long. He should come out of it in within a day,” Ku'zag grunts, after spending a few moments prodding at Or'kaz, picking himself back up with a clicking of old bones.

“I suspect that the method of Zul'orok Zhar sending you this gift had a second purpose, to send a message to Or'kaz. I hope he listened.” Ku'zag continues, sitting himself back down on the rock.

“Looking good Ur, real chieftain-like.” Zo'rok cackles, and Ku'zag nods in agreement.

“I couldn't tell you all of what the breastplate can do, but with the Iron God it will likely be supernaturally resistant to both physical harm and magical attack,” Ku'zag grunts.

“Want to test it out?” Zo'rok grins.

>>

This is the proper orcish plan of action
>>
“Funny as it'd be watching you bounce off and punch yourself in the face, you might hit Ku'zag, and then we're both dead,” you snort, provoking a laugh from your old friend.

“I'll get it identified, you go take it easy, and get someone to bring Or'kaz back to his tent,” you grunt, slapping your friend on the shoulder as you turn and head for Ashuris' elf again.

To say he looks unhappy to see you would be an understatement, you suppose he's still upset about the whole 'fucking Ashuris up the ass in front of him' thing. Well, you aren't here to make friends.

“I want you to identify this,” you grunt, gesturing to the breastplate, and despite a withering glare, the elf complies, placing a hand to the metal and muttering to himself. A few seconds later he pulls his hand away, sweating and red-faced from the effort of the spell.

“Aside from some basic enchantments to reduce the force of impacts and prevent incorporeal attacks phasing through it, which is standard to most magic armour, it looks like it's designed to ward off curses, hexes and spells that influence the wearer mentally or emotionally. There's one other thing too, the metal is laced with some sort of naturally magical alloy, I think, it feels like Starsteel, not that I've got much experience with it. Which should make it harmful to the touch for abyssal creatures.”

That is useful, you grin, tapping the metal with a knuckle.

“Good work, elf,” you grin, though you suspect that just annoys him more.

With that done, you step back outside, it's early morning, and you have the whole day ahead of you.

Okay, so we got Zul'orok Zhar's reward down for the battle, what's left?
I suppose it might be about time for something from Kul'zog Zor too, since we did a lot of battling in the quest but got nothing but favors from him so far, and that was a pretty glorious fucking battle if you ask me.
Not sure if Y'zagya Zoka or Zol'gor Tor would be pleased enough for boons from them though, we weren't exactly sneaky/psychological and I don't think Lorsyth killed enough orc women to be worth a blessing from milfgod.
Wonder when we'll get our first boons from the rest of the gods.

Sure, Given the underground nature of that battle field I would insist on bringing the whole coven. They'd be rather easy to convince I think (Hey guess what, we're almost out of sacrifices!). Also none of our guys slagyr can see with are back yet right? I don't want him to know about the underground network.
>>
>>39952161
I don't think bringing a Kulakin into the camp is a good idea, remember that they have some collective unconsciousness or something going on.
>>
>>39952194
That is something to consider, I think we we're just plain wiping out the entire group of them though, we could always blind and bind them too. Something to consider is a permanent guard and gate for the tunnel entrance, now that we know there's stuff down there.
>>
>>39952194
Luckily, our new underground cells mean they don't have to be in the camp proper. On the other hand, they dig through stone with their teeth.

Perhaps the orgesses could dominate the prisoners, or we could lame them to be unable to escape. I'm sure as long as we kept an eye on them they won't escape. We also really are running out of sacrifices for them, and I really appreciate the base upgrading magic they do.
>>
>>39952241
Actually, if they could dominate the broodmother, would they dominate the whole tribe by extension, by virtue of their hivemind thing? Kulakin would make shit breeding slaves, but a pretty good workforce and self replenishing supply of sacrifices.
>>
>>39952280
I'm not sure if the coven's domination would work on beings with a collective consciousness, or if trying it would have some serious repercussions.
>>39952290
We don't know how the collective mind thing works, if the broodmother is the origin, or just another part of it.
>>
You suppose you should look around in the camp first, make sure no-one's killing each other over anything stupid today, you've got few enough warriors as it is. Before that, you make sure to pass on to a few of the orcs around the camp that you're planning another trip down into the caverns soon, and anyone who wants to shed some kulakin blood should get ready.

Sending the orcs on their way to spread the news, you take a walk around. The camp is a little tense, you can tell, combining the orcs into packs made up of members of different former packs might be good in the long run for breaking down old loyalties, but in the short term it's being trouble. Adding to that is the feeling around camp that nothing is happening.

You know that's not true, but it's hard to convince orcs of the value of clearing out the gaunts, which must feel like repetitive, thankless work after they've developed a taste for raiding and glory. You suspect that if you don't do something soon, bring in some new slaves and let the clan cut loose in a real fight, the number of issues is going to increase dramatically.

Thankfully, not many of the orcs have realized the issue of food yet. Right now your food is scarce, but there's still enough to get by, and when the gaunts are cleared out you'll have more. However, in a few months time you're going to have a whole lot of whelps to feed, you can only hope that the added hunting grounds will cover it. If not, it might be time to look towards further expansion.

You probably have time to visit one more place in particular before you should go meet with the orcs gathered by the tunnel, so where to, Chieftain?

What was the thing Vor'zal lived a couple years as?
>>
You wander down to the slave huts, a walled area to one side of the camp where the slaves are kept in communal structures. The walls are hardly high and you doubt they could stop a concerted escape attempt, but they're really more of a formality, since beyond them is a whole clan of orcs and then miles of predator-infested wasteland.

The male slaves look worn down and tired from a life of cleaning up after your clan and doing odd jobs around the camp. You don't think you'll need more until your clan has grown in size, otherwise they're just extra mouths to feed. The female slaves, those that aren't out in the camp servicing your warriors, are either sleeping off a hard night's work, or nursing swollen bellies, at least the human ones are.

You find Za'ria looking over some of the more pregnant slave women, checking them with remarkable skill for any issues which might cause problems before or during the birth. She stands as she spots you, giving you a nod.

“Ur'shal. I don't see you here often. Come to sample some of the communal slaves, or did you just come here to see me?”

“Just checking in, thought I'd come see how the slaves are getting on,” you grunt.

Za'ria shrugs, leaning against a nearby wall.

“Well enough. The male slaves get riled up sometimes, but nothing I can't handle. The female slaves are all broken in now, they don't care about much more than when they're going to get their next dick.”

You nod, glancing around at the female slaves, finding a fair number of desperate, hopeful faces staring back at you.

“Nothing in particular then? No troublemakers?”

“No, these slaves are dull. A few with some skills, but nothing particularly valuable. Honestly you could probably do to cull a few of the males, lower the numbers, unless you have something special in mind for them. Most of the male slaves in the orcish kingdom wound up on plantations and farms, or working in the mines, and right now we don't have any of those,” Za'ria shrugs, pushing off from the wall to look through into one of the male slave huts.

You grunt. You'd rather not just start culling until you're certain you don't need them all, after all, you can't un-cull them, still, they are more mouths to feed. Something to think about.

“I'll think about it. I had another question for you though. Lokasi.”

“Your elf, what about her?”

“I was thinking about letting her out a bit more, maybe letting her do some sparring and training. I just want to make sure before I do that she's not likely to turn around and stab me.”

Za'ria quirks an eyebrow. “That's very kind of you, chieftain. Most orcs wouldn't allow their slaves that level of independence.”

“As long as she's doing what's expected of her as my slave, I don't see any reason to keep her miserable.”

You grin, leaning back against the wall opposite the slavemistress and folding your arms across your chest.

“Besides, I think it would be a shame if she lost that toned body.”

The corner of Za'ria's mouth twitches up into an almost-smile.

“Ah, now that's a reason I can understand. I suppose you could try it, the elf is still unsure of herself, and there is definitely a risk of her turning on you. If she doesn't, giving her that extra length on her leash might help secure her loyalty though."

You nod, the slight smile slipping away from Za'ria's face as she regards you curiously.

"I've known a lot of orcs in my life, Ur'shal, and I think it is fair to say that in some ways you are one of the strangest.”

“Is that a good thing or not?”

“That remains to be seen. I don't dislike it at least.”

A comfortable silence settles into place between the two of you, and while you know it's a sensitive issue for her, you think now might be a good time to ask about her past. However, you are also aware that your clanmates are gathering for the attack on the kulakin, and you could always speak to Za'ria later.

You sigh, pushing off from the wall.

“Right, I've got a whole bunch of orcs waiting to go attack the kulakin in the tunnels, and I don't want them getting bored and starting a fight,” you grunt.

Za'ria's eyebrows twitch downwards. “Kulakin? Rather you than me, I can't stand those things.”

“You've come across them before?”

“A couple of times. They're pests, leave even two of them alive and they breed a whole new nest within a year. Doesn't even matter if they're both the same sex, one of them switches. Worse than goblins, and without the fringe benefits.”

You frown, these things get stranger every time you learn something new about them.

“I was considering keeping some as slaves, what do you think?”

Za'ria shrugs. “They have their uses. Go through stone like butter, but that just makes them more of a pain to keep, take your eyes off them for a minute and they've tunnelled away. Overall I'd say they're not worth it, they can be obedient for years and then just suddenly snap and attack, or kill themselves. Something about them picking up jumbled signals from other nests or something, I don't know, some sorcerer explained it to me once.”

You nod, heading back towards the exit to the slave huts, Za'ria falling into step alongside you.

“I do have the coven, they might be able to control the broodmother, or at least some of the kulakin.”

“Don't know, I'm no sorcerer, you could try.”

The two of you reach the edge of the slave huts, Za'ria slowing to a halt.

“Good visit, chieftain. Come by for whatever you want, whenever you want, and I do mean 'whatever you want'. The slavegirls might learn a thing or two watching.”

You grunt. “Maybe, I do want to talk to you later when I'm back. Not around the slaves though.”

Za'ria raises an eyebrow. “My hut or yours?”

“Your tent.”

“I'll have you all to myself then, lucky me,” Za'ria replies, that slight smile twitching up the corner of her mouth once more.

You bid your goodbyes and start making your way towards the tunnel. The question is whether you want to take any detours on the way.

You stop of via your tent, finding Ashuris now awake and brushing her hair, something you find your witch slave doing a lot, you've noticed.

“Ashuris, we're going back into the caverns, going to deal with the kulakin,” you grunt.

Ashuris sighs, setting aside her comb and rising to her feet.

“You know, chieftain, I might be a little more agreeable to these expeditions if I wasn't currently feeling quite sore,” she grumbles.

You shrug, “you've got a big ass, you can handle it.”

“Maybe if smaller men were involved,” Ashuris grumbles, placing a hand gingerly on her pale buttock.

“...and another thing, do you know what I woke up to yesterday after I recovered from your attention?”

“No?”

“The elf was cleaning your... seed... out of me with a rag, and sniffing the rag.

I would appreciate if you did not leave me alone and unconscious with him again if you still want to use him for identifying items, because next time I wake up to something like that, I'm going to wring his scrawny neck.”

You sigh. Seems like you've put her in a bad mood. You reach a hand round behind her back, pulling her up close to you, her heavy breasts swaying in front of your face.

“I won't leave you lying around near the elf again, but can you really say you don't want me to play with your ass more in the future,” you grin.

Ashuris glances away, cheeks flushing crimson.

“How about this, rather than just you come into the caverns with me, we bring the whole coven?”

You see Ashuris noticeably perk up at the suggestion.

“...just as soon as you're honest with me about whether you liked it.”

Ashuris grumbles quietly to herself, looking away. “I suppose it wasn't entirely unpleasant.”

“It gets easier with practice,” you grin, giving the ogress a nudge towards the door, the two of you heading outside.

You go around to visit Zo'rok and Bra'kur, to gather the other two members of the coven. Zo'rok is enjoying being back, but doesn't mind sending Lurashka out with you, stating that he's 'about done with her for now anyway'. The blonde witch steps out of Zo'rok's hut wiping a trickle of white from her bottom lip, and you make your way to Bra'kur's hut to gather Rasha. Bra'kur is busy studying scrolls, catching the boisterous orc in a rare quiet moment, and he shoos Rasha away to accompany you without even looking up.

With all three witches in tow and chattering away happily amongst themselves, you return to the entrance to the tunnel, to a very large gathering of orcs. It seems like every bored orc who isn't currently out fighting gaunts or hunting wants to get in on this. You're going to have to send some away.

You also spot Ya'zada, your mate standing by the side of the tunnel, a wide one-tusked grin plastered across her features.

“Ur, heard you were going back down there. Thought I could spend some quality time with my mate and get knee deep in guts at the same time, win win” she laughs, patting the battleaxe hanging from her side.

“I couldn't turn down an offer like that, let's go kill some Kulakin,” you grin, stopping to slide a hand up the back of Ya'zada's kilt, giving her toned, squeezable ass a grope before you turn to address the assembled warriors.

“Alright, can't fit all thirty of you into the tunnels with me, so here's what I want you to do, you twenty will be coming into the kulakin tunnels with me. The other ten, I want you to go scout downstream. Remember, I said scout, you see anything that looks like it could turn into a big fight, you come back and report, we'll handle it later.” you call, dividing them off into a larger and smaller group.

The smaller group don't look all too happy to not get stuck in to the action, but right now you think they'd take anything that wasn't another day hunting gaunts.

“If none of the others told you already, Kulakin can come through rock, so keep an eye on the walls, if you see movement, you shout. We don't want to get ambushed down there.”

There are some scattered affirmative grunts and voices as you gesture for the orcs to follow you down into the tunnels, now properly armed for the tight confines. You have once again brought along a shortspear and shield, with the frost dagger as backup.

You step into the cool, damp cavern once more, heavy with mist kicked up by the river. There's no sign of Vaki right now, you suppose the fey is off doing whatever fey do, and you see no sign of Kulakin in the tunnel, not that that means they aren't there.

The ten scouts head off downstream, picking their way carefully along the narrow ledge by the side of the river.

The tunnel is only really wide enough for your orcs to go at most two abreast, and that's with difficulty.

So, Ur, how do you wish to proceed?

Have the coven do some magic scouting.
If that comes up with nothing, then proceed inside, maybe stick the frost dagger into the rock wall or something if we can and it won't break or something retarded like that, to check for hostiles.
Single line, us at the head, witches either in the middle or at the back.
Have the witches mess with the tunnel walla bit if they can't "see" inside it, crush anything in there if they can.
Shorter weapon would probably be better, we're expecting attacks from the side.
Maybe have the orcs watch/face the two walls alternatingly? We face ahead, 2nd orc to the right, 3rd orc to the left, 4th orc to the right, etc.

>>
>>39955156

“Ashuris, Lurashka, Rasha, I want you to scan ahead, scout out our path with magic, then check the walls as we go, make sure there's nothing in them. If you find anything strange hiding in there, destroy it. One of you can go near the back, one in the middle, one near the front. The rest of you, single line, watching alternating sides.”

It's a little more complicated a process than some of your orcs are used to, and you get some mumbling of confusion from them while the coven chants, preparing to test out the stone and figure out a good route.

It's a little while before they stop, Ashuris returning to you, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

“This tunnel goes a long way, then meets up with a whole network of other tunnels and chambers. There's a handful of chambers larger than the rest, and one even bigger one right in the centre of the network. We might need to stop and shape larger tunnels in some places though, the kulakin are smaller than we are, and they haven't been good enough to open up the whole network for larger invaders.”

You nod, gesturing for your warriors to fall into line. Ya'zada settles into step behind you, Ashuris just behind her, testing the walls. Lurashka goes to the middle while Rasha stays near the back, a couple of other orcs behind her.

Now you just have to hope your warriors understood all you told them.

The trip down the tunnel is uneventful, and you pass the point at which you were ambushed before without a repeat performance. The rock of the walls is warped and misshapen where the creatures burst forth, but according to the coven that's all it is, misshapen, solid rock.

You feel like you've been marching for close to an hour by the time Ashuris hisses for you to slow down, bringing the column to a crawl.

“The tunnel opens up into a cavern up ahead, the Kulakin have an ambush set up from beneath. I can point you to where they're going to attack from, or we could just crush them in their holes.”

You nod. “How many?”

“Around forty. I don't think any of them are the shaman though.”

While you have no doubt that the coven could make good on Ashuris' offer to crush the Kulakin lying in wait, you suspect they would find it quite tiring, which might be a problem if you need them to do much more heavy magic later.

Careful fine manipulation of rock on multiple targets would not be easier. In some ways the simple shifting of large quantities of rock for a blunt purpose would be less draining.
>>
“No need, we can handle them,” you grunt.

The column speeds up again, stopping as you get to the cavern. It's a massive chamber, and like the rest of the Kulakin tunnels it looks like it was gnawed away with countless sharp teeth. It's silent as you step inside, and your warriors start to fan out into a semi-circle by the entrance.

“The Kulakin are waiting near the middle, and some more along the sides on this wall,” Ashuris whispers, gesturing to some areas of the room.

As you look carefully, you're certain you can see near imperceptible shifts in the stone, odd ripples and bubbles breaching the surface of the otherwise solid chamber.

“Will we be able to attack through the false stone?”

Ashuris nods. “I think so, you'll have to push hard though. Be sure to remove the weapons again quickly too. Once the shaman realizes they're dead, he'll end the spell and seal whatever's in there inside.”

You grunt, gesturing for your warriors to spread out to cover both the centre of the chamber and the back wall. You can't cover every single hole in the place, but thinning out around twenty of them before they can even spring their ambush is a good start.

Ya'zada grins next to you, readying a spear, axe still hanging from her belt.

Ah, right, I forgot, collective unconsciousness, they'd have to do it at once, okay.
I guess then, how many could they take down with basically no problem? 5? 10?
Could they do that anyway?

Good thing we brought back up weapons.
Regardless, even if a weapon gets stuck inside, the coven can just loosen the rock around it after the battle, no?
>>
>>39956332
Well, tits. I suppose that's late, then.
>>
>>39956277
Could be worse. And we also have modifiers to add. Also they understood to follow instructions well. So even if we failed the dc. Shouldn't be to bad.

With a roared signal, you drive your spear into the rock. It feels thick and fluid as you press the weapon through it, until you meet the satisfying and familiar resistance of living flesh. You drive the spear in and rip it out again, the spear leaving the stone with an audible pop, the tip stained in dark blood.

Next to you, Ya'zada is having similar success, and with a laugh, she wrenches the spear free, the dying Kulakin still lodged on the end. She plants a boot on its head, prying loose the spear and leaving the Kulakin slumped over the edge of its ambush spot, before slowly and bizarrely sliding back down into the liquid stone.

The Kulakin quickly realize something is wrong, as they start to erupt from the ground all around you, clutching simple spears, knives and axes of bone and stone. Unfortunately it seems some of your warriors were a little slow off the mark, or failed to land a solid strike on your enemies, and while you were hoping to remove close to a full twenty of them with your surprise attack, your warriors only seem to have dealt with around seven or eight of the creatures.

The Kulakin shriek and chitter, and you quickly find youself surrounded, though this time you and your warriors at least have enough space to fight.

“Form up,” you bark, backing towards the rest of the group, driving a spear into another of the kulakin as you go. Your warriors follow your orders with impressive speed, and you soon find yourself in a tight formation, back to back, spears out, the three ogresses at the centre.

The kulakin don't stop, shrieking and chittering as they throw themselves into the circle of readied spears. The stink of kulakin blood and the screams of the dying fill the chamber as you and your warriors meet the swarm, dropping their spears and switching to handaxes and daggers as the spears become lodged in the bodies of the dead. You hear Ya'zada's laughter as she drives her spear into the throat of a kulakin mid-leap, battering another over the head with her shield as it tries to take advantage of her preoccupation, splitting the creature's skull open on the rim.

You leave your spear in the guts of one of the beasts, drawing your dagger, thrusting it into the arm of one of the creatures as it tries to jab under your shield, the thing giving a piteous howl as its arm blackens from the enchantments.

You take a deep breath as two of your warriors finish off one of the kulakin as it tries to drag itself away, one pinning the unfortunate creature down with his spear while the other drives an axe into the back of his neck.

Looking around, all is quiet, your warriors uninjured save for a few scrapes and bruises, and surrounded by a ring of the dead and soon to die.

“That was fun,” Ya'zada grins, prying her spear loose from the corpse, as the rest of your warriors gather up their weapons. A few spears have snapped in the bodies of the dead, but not enough to make a noticeable difference.

“So what now, Ur'shal? We could head straight for the largest chamber, or take the longer route and go via the several large chambers,” Ashuris asks.

Large chamber it is.

Next time, I'm afraid. I'm going to have to call it there.

Thank you all for playing, and I can stick around for some Q&A for a bit if people have anything to ask.
>>
Thanks for running. Let's say hypothetically speaking we left just one of the little buggers alive and made a litter of half orcs with it, would killing the kulakin parent leave the half breeds in an isolated hivemind network?
>>

They'd still be crazy.

Ya'zada smut next thread?
Za'ria smut and backstory next thread?
Or'kaz waking up next thread?
>>

I know i suggested that to begin with, but the hive mind makes that really damn horrifying if they all experience the sacrifice.
>>
>>39957734
Could we just tie them to some sticks so they have no way of using their mouths without us allowing them and using them as mining equipment?
>>
>>39957757
I would imagine so, yes.

Ya'zada does deserve some more smut, it's been a while.
>>
>>39957808
You are welcome to try.
>>
>>39957817
Maybe for Ya'zada, a celebration pastebin of what was skipped?
Could do for Aleida as well, I guess.
And Za'ria.

Maybe so, I will try to do the rest of the celebration pastes sooner or later.
>>

How well are the lingering clan tensions resolving?

Are there any orcish team sports that could help foster pack unity and competitive rivalries between packs?
>>
>>39958074
No one evidently, but the concept is cool yet horrifying.
As such i drew attention to it.
>>
>>39958188
Ah your 'but' made me think you were against it.

You're right, maybe after a few sacrifices they'll migrate away or try to talk to us.

Or attack. That'd be fun
>>
>>39958120
They're going to take some time. Every clan is a bit wary of the others, that's just how orcs are, but it goes without saying that the former stormhowlers and goatfoots are still the worst for conflict.

It's not as large or dramatic as some of the fights were before you broke them up, but in some ways it's become more pervasive, since breaking up the clans has also weakened the lingering control Ya'zada and Or'kug had over their former clanmates, which is one less thing keeping them in line.

As for team sports, orcs don't have any popular ones, other than getting drunk and getting into a big fight, most popular orcish sports are based around individual achievements.
>>
>>39958215
I imagine orcs really enjoying rugby, but it kind of sucks ass when there is no grass.
>>
>>39958120
Sure are, let's see, there's hunting, raiding, warring, enslaving, fighting, etc.
>>
>>39958288
Some orcs might suggest that playing it on rough rocky ground adds to the fun.
>>
>>39958320
I imagine said orcs are like the high school bully, but instead of just flattening the opponent, they scrape their face across the floor so they look like a bloody mess.
>>
>>39958320
Are Kulakin edible?
>>
>>39958898
Its meat, and its not fellow orc, so its a menu option.
Suppose it depends on your squeamishness when eating other sentient beings.
>>
>>39958898
No-one told you they were poisonous, so yes, most likely.

Would doing squad versus squad unarmed fights increase "teamwork" and decrease those tensions?

Could make it into a tournament, would be great.

Also might start getting our mooks some boons/more skill.

Might do, you could always give it a try.

See you all next time.
>>
>>39959723
Then next thread or the thread after I shall suggest we do that.

We can announce that the winning squad will be our first pick to go on the best missions.
>>
>>39959801
They could also be an honor guard, or 'our' pack
>>
>>39959823
I like this.

Maybe get a top 10 packs with the best being ours. Have a new tournament each month (when feasible) at the time of the sacrifice. Then each month packs fight to make it to the top ten or get a higher ranking.

The top 10 packs get first picks on slaves or loot.

What did we do with the forge or'kaz used? can we retrieve it? can we get or'kaz to train a smith there?
