Rolled 69 (1d100)

Last time on Aegis Securities we interupted a fight between ghouls and strange survivors who than ran right INTO A GODDAMN ELITE ZOMBIE HORDE who has been hanging around for some strange reason...anyway we sent our forces after them and they discovered the survivors were actually surprisingly well equipped to survive despite their appearances(damn cockroach ratty traits) however they did not manage to do so without cost. As they ended up losing their only heroic and elite units causing them to collapse afterward. Zombie horde meanwhile is still apparently hanging around...

You the Commander is very both tired and annoyed on how the Quartermaster keeps on 'missing' the meetings for awhile now. All in a row.

Doesn't even bother to send a message and at first you were gonna forgive considering he was busy with some project to bring the tech up online. Problem is you have gotten a report stating he hasn't really been doing that for awhile now...

So you decide to stop by his quarters to see whats up. So naturally you knocked before opening it as there was no response...then you promptly shut the door after seeing the scene contained within.

"Is there anything wrong Commander?"

"...I am just gonna come back later."

So the commander walked back and noticed a bizarre shortage of manpower...there wasn't really anyone around for some reason. So he decided to check the barracks/recreation where everyone supposedly was.

After opening the door to see what was going on and shutting it again. Rubbing his eyes before double checking for sighing loudly and closing it. On the way back to the command center desperately trying to forget everything he had witnessed.

At the Command Center he meanwhile did a quick check on the feeds before shutting them all down after checking the prisoners and silently asked himself 'wtf is going on'?

Deciding he needed a break the commander decided to go out on patrol to clear his head. While on patrol he meanwhile noticed yet again...for some reason.

There hadn't appeared to be anyone on patrol. I mean sure they left but their circuits were oddly vacant. Considering there were no alarms sounding off or even seeming lack of contact...something funny was going on.

So the commander on patrol investigated and noticed a certain caravan in red with red light lanterns...and aren't those vehicles-

Oh goddamn it. So much for the break...now to go fetch the fuckers. So down the Commander went to fetch his men. When he arrived he amusingly enough found he wasn't the only one.

While being told to wait by an attendant in a room there he sat down and encountered another who apparently was after the same thing.

"...So let me guess trying to fetch your people?"

"Yup and you?"

"Same."

"So why you showed up only after your troops arrived? They were suppose to be on patrol and due to what happened back at base...needed to clear head and found out they vanished to here. The hard way."

"Ouch...so what happened at base to make you clear your head?"

In response the commander gestured around. "Something sorta like this but without the pay and probably worse."

"Oh how so?"

"I opened the door..."

"Ouch...that yeah that can really REALLY fucking suck at times."

"Oh you have no idea..."

"Oh believe me i do. There is a reason why I wait out here."

"Ah i see so did you come with your troops then?"

"Yup had to make sure they made it back you know? Also they think if they drag me along enough times I'll give and maybe stop being such a hard ass. They even offered to cover it.

"Hah no kidding? I'm surprised from what i can see you could easily get some."

"True but due to standards and my duties..."

"I get it.

That was when the attendant offered services while waiting and handing out some refreshments meanwhile. There the two officers talked before both vanishing when the troops finally came back.

"What the hell where did the Commander go?"

"SWEET we wont haf to get yelled at," cheers one non Aegis trooper.

"Wait a sek I your bos-err commander is gun too?"

"Yeah and yours, wait why are you laughing?"

"Heheh ah nuthen just that it might be they left together and so our planned sorta worked out."

"Eh I think that one will come back eventually."

Meanwhile at back at base a threat was made and survivors were transferred...that was when all hell broke loose. As conflicts arise those survivors arrive and old alarms started going off like crazy. This was followed by the vault telling us to go fuck ourselves before attempted closings off...that went wrong.

How wrong you ask?

The vault suddenly went dark and strange spores were detected leaking from that area. Meanwhile a stampede of countless zombies arrived...only to turn right back around and run away like hell.

The last message from the vault was an automated broadcast claiming containment had been breached and accesses been opened.

I wasn't around for most of the bandit civs, just the outcaste I believe.
So to me I view the best civs were the ones we tried being good. The farmers, blackwoods, this one and the few paramilitaries. Then Hax and the rangers, may they rest is peace.

It would help if people trusted the npcs a bit more, but I can understand why. Hell I love doing the evil rout my self. Problem is I always find it to easy. We did way better in this civ than the others at begin good. I hope we can keep it up and not let it fall like the others..

You are free to resist and believe it isn't over. But it is over.

I find the last one when done intentionally tends to be highly satisfying.

Persons have been executed.

Apology attempted to be sent forth. Doubtful that it made it through though and forces have been rallied.

...strangely not a single goddamn thing happened. Eventually the Judge showed up AGAIN perfectly whole and safe while carrying somebody...who turned out to be the Commander.

The judge refused to say what happened as they came through the area where the elite zombies were the and Judge was last seen getting a drink while in deep thought. No one could appear to rouse the judge and the judge meanwhile just stood into the glass as if it held the secrets of the universe were contained within.

bah meant stared not stood.

The commander has returned and according to the Judge you don't want to know where she found him.

Meanwhile also according the Judge she was able to run into some law bringer posses who were hanging around and mentioned they could be good recruits. A bit rough though.

The Commander meanwhile is giggling away while he was taken to his room where is apparently trying to recover from whatever it was.

The caravan has returned apparently they want some of their people back whom the quartermaster used for his project.

The commander is given time to recuperate according to him it would depend upon what it is exactly that may come for us. So he doesn't know for sure unless we find out what it is exactly.

Or we can flee. Problem is we can only take so much the stuff with us and we'll be forced to leave our infrastructure behind.

It's set up a scouting team to watch the enemy's area and give us a heads up when the move. It will buy us time and get more info on their make up.

The next part is to send a team to do a wider scouting mission.

The rest is statement of over all action. We need to train for the unknown by being ready with any info we have. Plus help Duke or the people if they need anything, still cops after all.

The psi had the mind scrying powers, hoping they will help.

Finally we got some books and had the magic and psi auto train with them for a while. I wanted to know if anything was gained so far.

Precious little can be found out by scouts as a lot of it is still kept heavily barricaded or buried somewhere. Not a whole lot can be found out without directly cracking into the facility. According to the scouts nothing is happening besides a strange miasma that can only occasionally be seen radiating.

Most people by now have long since fled the area. Those who haven't are buried deep.

Psi troops announce their powers are limited and meant more for policing then anything. There is a reason why they ended up cops after all and not some super hero or military spec ops. They do however detect some kind of presence in the black site some of which is both intelligent and or powerful.

With what tools to do it with? We never traded for the heavy duty because of the tech cost (plus the chance of them turning it on us).

Our best move is probably to gather what info we can. Then we ether push in and attack head on or wait for them to move.

While that happens we can see about trading and improving our selves. We will be in this for the long haul. After words, maybe we will get some nice black tech.

We just have to stay quiet, keep our heads down, and not make too much attention to ourselves.

Especially if everyone else is ensuring they aren't grabbing attention to themselvses.

I'm not sure if any trading research or literally anything but prepare for this is advisable until its over. We've been blessed with ample turns to prepare and we should use it to. . .well. . .prepare

I can accept that, but depending on the enemy we will not be able to.

If you're looking for paramilitary tech to reinforce our stocks and replenish all of our damaged shit then we go fuck up the paramilitary bandits and have some survivors salvage the base for us. From the frozen lands over the mountains and megacity. Their reach is growing though and its said they got other 'allies' among us already. Scary bastards who lost the old wars but the Fall somehow brought them back. Now with their old enemies who beat them dead they are trying again.

>Amitar Army
Used to have a number problem until they went on a recruiting binge from hell they than ran into problems with gear and supplies so they adapted a fucked up merit system. Their damn good at what they do though and their numbers along with turf is growing.

>Mutam Milita
Bunch of highly trained mutants. For whatever reason they got the biggest hate boner for bandits and their zone of control is surprisingly safe. Its said their descended from a bunch of guards and soldiers who got mutated during the Fall. As in they are remnants of the Galugi Guard, Muritar Military, and mutant militias with the possibility of conversion. They supposedly have a mission to rejoin their fellows, protect civilians, and danger dealing(their favorite being bandits).

Our base is about as hidden, visually, as it can get. Praise be to the Dome.

It's also not leaking any EM transmissions. Praise be to the Dome.

About the only thing left is olfactory disguise and magical/psionic detection. We've got paramilitary grade air scrubbers/purifiers for the smells, but magical/psionic detection are difficult for anyone to account for. Fortunately you don't have to worry about needing to hide from them often.
>>
>>39934272
>Fortunately you don't have to worry about needing to hide from them often.
This just might be an exception.
>>
>>39934395
Well where do you expect to find the equipment necessary to hide Psi?

V101 was specialized into Psi, had psi-crystals, and even they couldn't figure out how to hide psi before we stopped playing them.
>>
>>39934432
I don't actually. All I can think for us to do until the attack is continue to stockpile resources we can either use to trade for mercs and weapons and try to ride out the storm.
>>
>>39934452
There's always sealing our tunnel to the vault off, then using explosives to create another tunnel that leads towards someone/something we don't like.
>>
>>39934479
See, I used to think like that all the time. Get our enemies to fight our enemies, monsters on zombies, zombies on bandits, worked wonders in the early days.

But in later times that changed to where it just ended up causing a bigger fight that often was our doom.
>>
>>39934518
Didn't we all agree that we're already doomed here, so we might as well go down fighting?
>>
>>39934560
I didn't.

I just wanted to stay true to the cop character and protect people from this unknown black tech. It is what we were payed to do after all.

So why not fight ... Why not do what this civ was favored to do? After all we are a force to be reckoned with and when we win this. This place will be all ours and we can make this empty land a trade hub. Maybe even a new city, if we so wish.
>>
>>39934560
Heh, you're right, what am I saying.

>>39934691
Had you been speaking about the bandits, I would agree. But this is likely a foe beyond us.

Remember we aren't powerful enough to challenge the zombies. And the zombies fled.

But if you want this civ to live, then don't waste it on a suicidal charge.
>>
>>39934755
If we entertain the idea that we may survive this, then we will have plenty of opportunity to grow and bring order to the wasteland.

But we need to let this angel of death pass us over first.

Cracking down on Black tech was other people's business. We are very outmatched here, and we know it. We were meant to protect the everyman from normal to extreme criminal elements, not deal with world ending biotech breaches.

It would be equally in character to run away and set up the law again somewhere else as to stay here and try to defend...mostly a bunch of bandits from whatever's coming out of there.
>>
>>39934755
That maybe true, but we have a Judge, with Justice, recruiting and the mercs. Plus what ever else is round if we make the right deals.

That was never tested, granted they still would have been a bitch to take down for sure.

I never said to do that. It's why my vote for actions have been study/scouting and resource gathering. We are building up and trying to learn something on the enemy. WE have to get stronger and at the same time find a weakness to take them down.

Really at this moment getting the tier 1 tech back and air power would be a move or seeing if the tribals are still around. Then we need to go in with a small stealth team to learn what is in side. If we can avoid poking to much and get the info we need. The final move will likely set a purge up and come in to finish anything off.
>>
>>39934875
>Really at this moment getting the tier 1 tech back
We've been trying that since the whole civ began with no luck. If you have any new ideas, be my guest.
>>
>>39934873
If this tech breaks the law it is still an extreme criminal element and that is what we deal with. It will not get to world ending if we do our job. I mean what kind of cops do you take us for?

If this black tech is a world ender, then there is no were to run. We would better off fighting the good fight and get help from who we can.

Once we know the enemy I'm sure we can get the word out and people would come to help. Everyone hates something that will mess with their business.

>>39934903
Help Duke or go tribal. Otherwise the caravans are moving away and there is breaking into other peoples bunkers, but I doubt we can take tech from people. Unless we have a code in the law book that allows us to take what is needed for the public good.
>>
Rolled 23 (1d100)

>>39934978
Nah, Black tech doesn't break the law. Black tech is the sort of stuff that's been above the law since the beginning, because the entities that make and enforce the laws are also the ones who paid for the research.

Our business is bandits, lawbreaking, and organized crime. Not taking down the baddest of the bad government/corporate secret projects, you need much bigger guns for that.
>>
I do admit I would like to see a ghoul sheriff. After all most of the factions gone. We could do what ever is needed to get this job done.

Granted it's wishful thinking, but I love t he idea of turning norms on their head. The Outcast worked with ghouls before, I see little reason not to try again at this point.

>>39935120
Then we should find them or change the rules. It's a new world my friends. We can do what's needed to protect and serve.
>>
>>39935176
They're not around anymore for us to even talk to to get them to change the rules.

Which really just makes it /doubly/ not our job to deal with this insanity leaking out.
>>
>>39935323
No my friend, that means we are the only ones who can. It would fall on to us if there is no one up top.

I mean look around people are scared and have no one else to call for protecting them. We maybe new, but I'm sure our protection has help a lot of good people.

We can't give up with out some fight, for them and the other innocence people this could affect.
>>
>>39935446
We might still consider taking a poll to see who wants to stay and fight and who wants to go. Then help the people who want to go relocate to somewhere else before we wake this thing up.

We don't want another Guanyin situation with stone-cold-retarded rebels deciding to fuck people coming to help us at literally the worst time.
>>
>>39935646
Nothing wrong with talking with the troops and getting their views.
>>
>>39935723
Now after we get their views, do we use the RSS to change them or not?

Also, isn't it about time we release our prisoners?
>>
>>39935807
I don't believe we can use the RSS for that and no we should not do that. If they are criminals yeah or people in need brain fixing.

I would assume once their sentence is up they would automatically be released. Unless there is something we need to do.
>>
>>39935807
>>39936059
Clearly we have to hold a parole evaluation
>>
Rolled 76 (1d100)

>Action
Hold a poll among our citizens. Should we fight, flee, or does anyone have an alternative suggestion?

Also hold a parole hearing for our prisoners, allow them to make their cases for why they should be allowed to leave or have their conditions improved. Judge presides.

Commander can continue to rest.

Quartermaster, you know what and who you need to get the job done. You know what and who we have better than anyone else. Negotiate with the Caravaners to keep whoever you need and get whatever is required. Keep us notified if you need anything big, but otherwise all our stocks are at your disposal for this.this.
>>
>>39937392
The Judge is on recruitment drive, unless we have a civil Judge in the population.
>>
>>39937392
We already voted on staying, you know right?

It's also gonna be a bitch to move evertything.

And then our only options that we know of are still in the area.

But hey, maybe someoen might have a smart suggestion.

What kind of financial instruments does Aegis offer? Do you have any fund managers who beat the index, year by year, for at least a 10 year period?

I'm sad-ed that all I have is a tea kettle and not a lamp to rub.

Plus it's a bit late, I feel it would be best to give the mind of Genie some rest. Then we go all out tomorrow.

The RSS is on default mode so it can only do the real general basics so its quite limited till you find an operator then things get interesting.

Depends they're still locked up for varying crimes that were detected in their past also trespassing.
