With her game shopping done with, Gabrielle hums a happy song as we make our way out of the store. I think I recognize it as the theme from some game or another that I watched Mina play...

"So where to next?" Kevin asks.
"I wanna transfer my data over to this new one..." Gabrielle says, looking into her bag.

"Wanna eat while you do that?" I ask.

I'm not sure what exactly transferring her data actually entails, but she probably needs a table to do it and the food court's got plenty of those.

"Alright," Gabrielle nods. "And Kevin can pay for everyone's food to make up for hiding the fact that he's a super secret spy for Daddy."
"I'm not-" Kevin slumps over. "Yeah, sure. Whatever."

He might not be too happy about this, but it's not like I have much money left over after my splurging on this lingerie... so naturally, I'm not about to complain about getting a free meal.

And so, the three of us head to the food court and sit down at the cleanest table that we can find. After setting Shary down on a chair of his own, Gabrielle reaches into his head and pulls out a portable game console.

That's never not going to be weird.

From there, Gabrielle takes the seat next to Shary and starts to empty the contents of her bag out onto the table.

"Shary wants some teriyaki chicken from that Japanese place over there," Gabrielle says, pointing at a nearby restaurant. "Double order of meat, less vegetables than rice 'cuz he's picky like that."
"Aye aye," Kevin sighs. "What about you, Cecile?"
"I guess I'll get the same as her," I reply.
"Great, at least I only have the one place to wait at..."
"Umm, I can at least wait in line with you," I say.
"It's fine, you keep Gabrielle company and keep her from running off again," he replies.

With that, Kevin leaves us to stand in the restaurant's surprisingly long line.

"So Gabrielle..." I say, looking at her as she pokes at her game stuff with a weirdly serious expression on her face, "...what exactly are you doing with your games there?"

She's got the one that she took out of Shary's head sitting on the table and she's already opened up the box to the one she just bought.

"Switching the data over," she replies. "I gotta do a bunch of annoying menu stuff on my old one and then prep the new one."
"Oh."
"I wish they didn't make it so freaking roundabout to do this, but I guess that's just how it is," she sighs.
"They're the exact same system, right?"
"Yup."
"How long did you have the old one?"
"A few months," she replies. "I upgraded once it came out."
