LAST TIME ON SPAGHETTI SNEK QUEST:
https://archive.moe/tg/search/tripcode/%21Me.qpOlLW2/type/op/

I am so, so sorry for last time.

You are Katie Black, former socially-impaired human girl turned socially-impaired murdermachine reptilian girl in a strange world. You feel a lot better since yesterday; your head doesn’t hurt anymore. And you like your hoodie. Things are, generally speaking, going 1000x better right now than they were yesterday.

Cora and Sirena are accompanying you on a small adventure, doing something you didn’t do really that often on Earth: a shopping trip. The market looks pretty empty; today isn’t Market Day, which is on the equivalent of Wednesdays. A few lone bored-looking merchants (probably looking to deprive you of your precious shekels) are hanging around. Upon seeing you, their faces turn from melancholy to despair. They turn to huddled whispers in small circles of conversation.

That doesn’t make sense, why would… Oh. Right. You make a ton of money on your slaughterventures. As you approach closer to them, they put up feigned smiles. It’s actually pretty weird. Are they THAT afraid to lose money?
>>
One of them greets you. This guy looks around middle age, and has a thin mustache. There’s nobody that you can really think of that he looks like, other than maybe Mr. Bean with a terrible haircut and also a beard. And evil-looking. At least it’s not the same dude who sold you into wage slavery.

“Hello! Uh… Katie, was it? How can we help you?” The thought occurs to you that this is the most generic NPC ever. The signs on his stalls are written in the language you can barely understand, but the number pictogram system is luckily pretty easy. From 1-9, each number is represented by a collection of that number of dots within a circle. For example, “13” would be two dots; the first would just be 1 dot inside the circle and the other with 3. Zero has no dots. That was actually pretty surprising when Cora taught you; from what you remember from Earth history, the number zero took a long-ass time to spread to Europe. The sign closest to you indicates basic cloth (you think?) and lists 1 gold per… certain amount. God it sucks being illiterate.

“Uh… I w-wassssssssss here t-to b-b-buy ssssssssssssome ssssssss-ssssssss-stuff”

“Certainly!” Not-Bean says. Oh god, he even did the hands-rubbing-together thing. “What would you like to buy?”

Ask Doc your questions - ask.fm/DrUnorigional

Difficulty: This quest will have a difficulty setting that you can change at any time if you so wish, just ask, use it tactically.

>Easy mode: (Half XP) You get 5 dice rolls, best roll taken, the entire world is sunshine and rainbows. Only lasts for 5 in game story posts.

>Normal (default): (Normal XP rates and encounters.)You get 3 rolls, best dice taken.

>Challenging: (Double XP!) You only get 2 rolls, best of 2.

>Hard mode: (Triple XP and more loot.) You get 2 rolls but we use an average instead of the best one. Bad luck comes your way and shit is getting perilous, pray to the dice gods for mercy.

>Punishing: (Quadruple XP and allot of cool stuff just left lying around.)You only got one shot, make it count. 1 roll. Enemies are written as more competent/ better equipped, E.G if encountered then regular wolves will become larger dire wolves ect. You may get your shit pushed in.

>Nightmare mode: (10 times exp) Awww shit son u gon die. The worst of 3 rolls is taken, the world shifts to grimdderp and bad things happen. You can't turn it off for 10 in game posts.

Fate point: QM steals from khornette quest because he is a filthy hack, you can reroll one dice per session. Only once, and use that instead.

Dub rolls = +30

Trip rolls = +90
>>
>Current level = 59

>Difficulty = Normal. ( I didn't forget, I'm just not resetting it )

XP: current/total = level. For example. 35 exp collected vs a 60 for evolution = level 58

Every 25 levels you get some kind of passive perk that might have an effect on your next evolution. Whatever you choose gets strengthened as and if you evolve. Experience is given via difficulty and is relative. Remember to use the difficulty setting tactically, you can't raise it until after the fight is over.

>Mundane = 1 or even 0 XP. Shit like killing insects or knitting.

>Easy: 1-3 EXP, picking a lock or successfully hunting small prey.

>Medium: 5-10 EXP hunting larger prey that can fight back but really can't win.

>Challenging: 10-25: Shit that can fight back but not exactly life threatening.

>Threatening: 25-50 Something that could very well kill you and puts up a fair fight. 1V1 me faggot.

>Deadly: 50-100+ a (much?) larger/stronger opponent that may have the odds stacked in their favour
>>
-Total budget before purchase: 40gp
-After: 18 measly gp
-YOU HAVE RECEIVED: 1 dark green hoodie with pocket, some charcoal, a firestarting kit (wait a minute... This is just some flint and steel, plus a faggot (heh) of sticks!), and a handy-dandy totebag-sack-thing.
>PLUS, 2 pieces of sweet rock candy on a stick (2 sticks for 1 gp)
Maybe it's not the long nose and evil grin on your face, but the long nose and evil grin in your heart.
you guys all voted for the same stuff last time anyway

Damn, that really bit you in the ass. Sirena rolls her eyes, too. She must have known from the beginning how you were being gypped. It doesn't really help that Not-Mr.Bean looks a little bit like one of your favorite bishonen dudes, now that you realize it. You wonder if you can ask him to get one of the other merchants to engage in sweet- FUCK!
It's too bad Adderall doesn't exist, you could use it right now to distract you from the gay thoughts. Damn, you need to go take a shower (but what if Salvia catches you again?)

In the relatively quiet marketplace, you start to hear murmurs off on a side-street leading to the woods. Seems like there's some sort of commotion. The crowd isn't really big exactly, so you don't have to wade through it or anything, but you see Salvia as one of the spectators. You put Cora on your shoulders so she can see (so kawaii!), and do the snake equivalent of standing on your tippytoes.
>>
One of the members of the ring is yet another snake woman who happens to have sort of the same scale color as you. She is surrounded by people talking loudly about you,and you hear snippets like
>Killed a whole panther
>A whole pack of boars, too

Mostly, it’s about you killing things. This is another reminder that, like comedians, you have exactly one way you contribute to society. And it’s not even one that’ll make people be like, “oh, Katie? Yeah she was pretty chill” (not that people would say that about you anyway). They’ll be like, “oh, Katie? You mean that stuttering, weird, insecure freak of a butcher? Haha, yeah, she was pretty fuckin’ nuts, man.”
And then you’ll be forgotten in less than 30 years after you die.

Anyway, this snake woman. She’s smaller than you, not that that’s saying much. You’re fucking huge among Lamia, apparently (even bigger than Salvia now). She has dark brown hair, but slightly lighter than your own. It looks like Hillary’s hair, actually. But you’re guessing that this snake wasn’t married to a baller snake president who dindu nuffin’.

She spots you, and slithers over to you. She has a big smile on her face, for some reason.
“Katie!” She says. “I’m really glad to see you at last!”
She opens her arms wide for a hug, and you get four thoughts.
>What?
>WHAT?
>(Lil Jon voice) WHAT?!
>So am I literally the only snake who has a lisp? This is so stupid.

You know, it was pretty shocking waking up to last night's thread. Things seem to be going better now.
>>
Personally, I considered this quest as good as dead once dr unoriginal left it, anything beyond that is a bonus at this point, if new guy can keep it running I'd consider that awesome, if he writes a few shit posts and gives up than that is okay, and last nights thread wasn't at all surprising.

You have literally never seen this snake before in your life, and now she’s treating you like a niece or something. Actually, IS she your aunt? Or like a half-sister of Salvia’s?
"W-what?" you say, a little forcefully. This is really, really weird.
"Why, Katie, don't you recognize your own mother?"

That hits you so hard and so fast that you almost blurt out "but Salvia's my mom." Very nearly. You also curse yourself for having a lisp.
"I... uh... h-hi," is what you say instead. "I, uh, sorry."
Challenging mode engaged
No. Come on Katie. You can do this.
"W-w-hy did you l-leave me," you finish in a tiny voice.

It grows quiet. Dead quiet.
NOW you fucked up. That was the first time you ever stood up for yourself. And it feels awful. What the fuck are you doing? You never stand up for yourself, and this is why. Katie Black keeps her head down.
You feel exhausted.

Not-mom narrows her eyes a little bit, but then it's quickly replaced by a mournful look.
"It wasn't my choice, Katie," she explains. "I had to go... elsewhere," she says. Oh great, THAT's convenient. "I'm really really sorry. But I'm here now."

By the way, I've been wondering, its been flat out stated that lamia have genetic memory, would us having our memory being from another universe entirely (where we never even managed to reproduce much less actually be a lamia) fuck up that memory system and result in a bunch of very confused baby snakes, or would they all have whatever genetic memory we were supposed to be born with.

>>
>>39850880
It'd be pretty easy anyway. Katie got scratched up a lot by that Panther, and I doubt Panther's claws are that clean, ergo, INFECTIONS!
Just give her a few days worth of lingering death as her condition worsens until she can't even move or eat and focus on how Salvia and her children watch her slowly waste away.

Don't expect me to write it though, feeling too much like a piece of shit to do anything productive today.
>>
You begin crying. It spews out of your snake tear ducts like a god damn waterfall. You begin to "run" home, past Salvia, who tries to grab you.

Multiple cries of "Katie!" and "Wait!" can be heard.
The weird thing is, you're not actually really sure she's your real mom. I mean, sure, she looks like you, but you have three moms at this point, maybe. You wish DNA testing was real. One thing is for certain, though. You're never going to regard her as your actual mom.

At home, you plop down into your room and bury yourself under a mess of blankets. You might not be rational right now, but at least you have time to think. Mostly, you finish crying, then you try to formulate the bare skeleton of a plan.
Step one. Okay. Step one. What is step one. Come onnnnnn.
Is it to get Eddie involved? What? How are you going to renounce this woman?

A few minutes later, you hear voices. Salvia is arguing with the snakebitch, who followed you home... that's kinda creepy, really. You can hear some of the argument:
Salvia: "I'm sorry, I just don't think it's in Katie's best interests, Miss...?"
Bitch: "Arisla. And I'm here now, and that's what matters."
Salvia: "Okay, but I still don't think..."
Bitch: "Trust me. I know what's best for my own child."
Salvia raises her voice a little. "Do you, though? Katie clearly wants nothing to do with you."
Short pause. (It's funny actually: Bitch reminds you a lot of your real mom, in that you hate them both).
Bitch: "look, can I at least SEE my daughter?"
Salvia: "We'll see. KATIE?" She calls out. You don't respond. She calls your name again, and you still don't respond. You're actually paralyzed by the thought that you'll have to interact with Bitch.
Salvia (softly, to Bitch): "Wait here."
You hear the soft slithering that's equivalent to footsteps working its way towards you.

Salvia raises the blankets off you. "Katie?"
"N-no," you say.
"You don't want to see her, do you?"
You shake your head.
"Okay."
Salvia goes over to tell Bitch, "she doesn't want to see you."
You thank God and also Jesus for the miracle that is Salvia at this moment right here. She is basically the messiah for you.
You don't really think your hearing is that good, but you hear a small "huff" followed by a door closing.
Basically, what can we learn from this? Bitch Mom is a bitch. The prime bitch. The Bitch Queen of Bitch Mountain, upon whose foothills are entire villages such as this. Its primary export is the rare stone known as Bitchionite, formed from a process over millions of years, where Bitchium Sulfate condenses due to pressure.

Salvia comes back over to you. "Are you okay?"
You shake your head. You don't feel capable of being a human be- you mean, snake being right now.
Salvia puts her arms around you. You lay there for a few minutes, starting to cry.
This continues for a long time.
___

You are now Salvia. You decide to ask Katie what the real deal is.
__

You are Katie again.
"...So... Is she your real mom?" Salvia asks, gently segueing into the topic.
"I-I don't kn-kn-know. I've n-never sssssssssseen h-her b-b-before."
"Huh. I've heard that we have the ability to recognize their parents if you've never seen them before, but... That happens so rarely..." She coughs. "What I mean is, once civilization got started or whatever, centuries or millennia ago, this stopped being a useful trait, since Lamia settled down in villages. But, before that, we would have our children in little nests, like real snakes. Does this make sense to you?"
You nod.
"What that means is," she continues, "If you don't recognize her... she's probably not your real mom."
"R-really?"
She nods.
Wow, you feel a lot better with this piece of information.
"But, she acts like she is, so..."

You see. Bitch WAS lying.

The whole "You meet your real mom who happens to be your snake mom" might be a bad angle to work off of here. I mean, I never really got Katie as being angry at her real mom, maybe dependent on her, with deep-seated guilt about how she was a thorn in her mother's side, but I never understood anything like hatred fostered between them.

I don't know if you are trying to work a different angle this time, but it does seem that Katie is kind of artificially, irrationally angry. Might want to dial it back a bit.
>>
You decide, feeling a little better, to head out to the woods to cool off, and then see what Eddie's up to.

In the forest, after a few minutes you spot a small boar and kill it.
...well, that wasn't satisfying at all. You wait for more.
After a few minutes, another boar comes along. Wait a minute. It looks really mad. Looking back on the corpse at your feet, you realize you killed a baby boar. This must be the mother.
It puts up a little bit of a fight before dying. A little challenging, but not beyond your horrible slaughter abilities. Damn, snake body, this shit crazy!
You seek out more boar, and eventually find a whole herd. You begin slaughtering them all.
It feels delicious, this blood, and you kill more and more and you have to MURDER BLOOD KILL EVERYTHING KILL KILL KILL-
Oh shit. Snek-chan's in control.
You try to be all like, okay, calm down, this isn't a problem. But your body is moving on its own, you have no way to control it. You're biting into one boar while constricting another to death. You quickly snap another with your bare hands.
This is a serious problem.

We're on Challenging, so best of 2. Unless Not-Dr. has changed back to Normal.
>>39851935
Too late, the Snek is in control.
>>
>>39851935

Pretty sure that's when New Doc retires his hat. Anyone clamoring to take that spot should it come to pass?
>>
>>39851892
Aren't we on challenging at the moment not normal?

>>39851910
Snek uses this as a legitimate reason to question custody.

Honestly she's not that scary though. I mean we could kill her.

Unless she's leveled in hypnotic eyes.

You literally voted for snake chan to take control, possibly permanently. This is literally what was voted for.
>>
>>39851971
A. it was a really split vote, so to say "you voted for this" is real disingenuine.
B. the permanence and murdering dudes thing is way into the realm of fan speculation and paranoia.

So basically why are we even trying when he'll arbitrarily change the difficulty without letting us vote on it?

I don't know. Shit's about to be complicated, yo. Might as well just strap in and see what Doc's replacement is going to try. If it's shit, we'll reboot again, save another gold piece, and keep going Groundhog's day style until we get something acceptable.
>>
Challenging mode disengaged

You have passed out from getting too excited and wake up in a field of blood and horribly mutilated boar remains.
Oh nooooo! You can't use these! What's the point of murdering a whole bunch of boar if you can't use the corpses for money?
Stupid Snek-chan.
Stupid Katie for letting that happen in the first place.
Ugghhhh, what time is it? You look up. Oh no! It's almost sunset! Shit! You gotta hurry if you want to get to Eddie's!
Also Salvia has probably been looking for you. Shit! Shit! Shitshitshitshit! You shouldn't disappear like that, this is LITERALLY what Sirena did!

>YOU HAVE LEVELED UP, choose some new traits
>current traits:

>Longer tail. (agility)
>Longer fangs, weak venom(Will possibly lead to a much more venomous tier 2 evolution, you gain a weak venom)
>Body heat (you can generate your own body heat now, comes with a range of big benefits but you'll need to eat more often to make up the calories)
>Minor Constrictor body (your tail becomes somewhat better at strangling the life out of motherfuckers) +10 on constrict rolls.
>Secondary heat vision (speaks for itself).
>Horn nubs. (Minor magic- Illusion and Lightning.)

>>39851971 Yes, thank you.
>>39851990 that doesn't mean we weren't going to Eddie's afterwards.

>>39852104

>Secondary heat vision (speaks for itself).

Hypnovision soon.

SOON.
>>
>>39852104

Wrong trait list.

> Major Constrictor Body (so those anon's will finally shut up)
>>
>NEW TRAITS:

>Chameleon skin (is lost with thicker scales)
>Armoured scales (requires thicker skin, your scales harden and thicken further into what could be considered light armour, and where there wasn't before you gain the thicker scales trait instead of soft baby flesh, especially on the shoulders)

>Hypnotizing gaze (Requires HSP, your gaze can influence people or to a greater degree animals, but only in the suggestive sense)

>Back fin and aqueous tail (Requires time spent in water and warm blooded trait, Can swim faster than ever. Can, not will.)

>Wicked claws (your claws take on knife-like properties, becoming longer, stronger and blacker)

>Acidic blood/spit (your blood becomes weakly acidic, makes treating wounds harder but certainly discourages predators from latching on doesn't affect other traits).

>Blade tail (requires spaded tail, your spade tail lengthens itself becoming harder and sharper, forming into a formidable natural weapon)

>Greater constrictor body (Requires the lesser, the muscles in your tail bulk up and strengthen considerably allowing you to crush the life out of larger prey)

>Greater horns (requires horn nubs, your horns grow and lengthen into a much more majestic shape than before, stronger magical power)

>deadly venom: (Your venom can become a potent blood clotting agent, If administered to necks it can very quickly induce strokes, often with hilarious results. Also comes with the ability to switch types of venom to sedative ect)

>Regeneration (requires body heat) (your already ridiculous healing factor on steroids, instead of weeks it may take just 3 days to recover from mortal injury)

Special Attacks:

>Venom spit (requires sharper fangs, you gain a natural projectile weapon)
>>
>>39852131
>deadly venom: (Your venom can become a potent blood clotting agent, If administered to necks it can very quickly induce strokes, often with hilarious results. Also comes with the ability to switch types of venom to sedative ect)
or
>Regeneration (requires body heat) (your already ridiculous healing factor on steroids, instead of weeks it may take just 3 days to recover from mortal injury)

One makes us more ambushy with one bite+ death the other will save our ass.
>>
>>39852131
>Greater constrictor body (Requires the lesser, the muscles in your tail bulk up and strengthen considerably allowing you to crush the life out of larger prey)
>Hypnotizing gaze (Requires HSP, your gaze can influence people or to a greater degree animals, but only in the suggestive sense)

Only 2 choices right?
>>
>>39852104
wait, what is the trait list to choose from if those are all the ones we have already?
>>39852131
ah, okay.

my top pick is regeneration, followed by greater constrictor, followed by scale upgrades and hypno eyes and shit like that.

so,
>regeneration
>>
>>39852158
Right. 2 choices only.

And for fuck's sake people, no samefagging this time.

Yes, I cam unimaginative scum, want to make deal about it?

is regeneration AND constrictor then.
>>
>>39852131
>Greater constrictor body (Requires the lesser, the muscles in your tail bulk up and strengthen considerably allowing you to crush the life out of larger prey)
deadly venom: (Your venom can become a potent blood clotting agent, If administered to necks it can very quickly induce strokes, often with hilarious results. Also comes with the ability to switch types of venom to sedative ect)
>>
>>39852131
>>Greater horns

> Regeneration
> Greater Constrictor Body

I want bigger horns next though.
>>
>>39852131
>Wicked claws and Armoured scales
>>
>>39852131
>>Blade tail (requires spaded tail, your spade tail lengthens itself becoming harder and sharper, forming into a formidable natural weapon)
Hold on a dick-ripping minute here, we don't even have a spaded tail! Do we?
>>
>>39852131
>Armoured scales
>Regeneration
The constrictor was tempting but I reckon with the vastly enhanced survivability we can kill shit quick and grab constrictor next time.

I'd rather kill shit slower and stay healthier for it than the other way around.
>>
>>39852131

>Hypnotizing gaze (Requires HSP, your gaze can influence people or to a greater degree animals, but only in the suggestive sense)
>>
>>39852258
>>two choices

>>Greater constrictor body

Kaa soon.
>>
Assuming no samefagging, we got:
3 for deadly venom
5 for regeneration
10 for greater constrictor
5 for hypnotizing gaze
2 for greater horns
3 for armored scales
2 for wicked claws

>>39852298

>>
>>39852460
Well thank god regen won. Shame we didn't get scales too, but at least we can recover quickly from our horrific injuries now.
>>
You notice that your tail is thicker now. Either you ate too much or you did something. Pretty weird. As soon as you move it, it feels... Bulkier. More muscular somehow.
You can dwell on it later; you've got to get moving.

>That's it for tonight, see you guys tomorrow at the same time (2PM CST/3PM EST) as you re-enter the village.

We should get huge! Huge! I tell you!
Stronk snake!
>>
>>39852632
>what didn't you like
It's too early to call anything yet.
I just keep having panics that you're going to fuck something major up and ruin everything, but it hasn't happened yet.

>>39852526
hey, scale upgrades are next on my list. though, camo or toughness I don't know.
>>
>>39852632

Kind of a pessimistic way of asking for feedback. As for the good, I like that the quest is running again.

I'm not so fond of the "Snek Mom 2: Electric Boogaloo" nonsense. It's just a bit out of place because Katie didn't hate her human mother, as far as we know. Having a snake woman come back in town, her actual biological mother, is fine, but I'm not sure how she knew to come into town.

The over the top metaphors need a bit of work if you're trying to emulate the doc. It's more like a compounding situation where one, sensible comparison really gets away from her.

I don't know. There are other things, but I'm not gonna belabor the point. You'll get better as you run more, I think.
>>
>>39852632
It's a solid first attempt. Although I doubt boars are worth the 44levels to leveling up twice, or even once. unless we had an evolved one or several evolved ones fighting us, which would have required rolls
>>
>>39852769
I'm going to assume we were conked out for several days as SNEK-CHAN! KILLER OF BOARS!
>>
>>39852832
I'd like to get a confirmation of that, and if we were out for long enough to level grind boars like they did in the WOW episode of South Park, we could have easily killed other more civilized things, in addition to having Salvia and the little bits missing and worrying about us.
>>
>>39852632
>Discussion time: What didn't you like?
I know you're a different person than Doc. Unoriginal, but your writing reads like some horrible cross between Sarcastic Bitch Cheerleader and Teletubbies in some places. Looks mostly like you're flubbing the parts where you're trying to inject humor or show off Katie's neurotic mess mind. I wouldn't be getting on your case about it if it was merely different from the old QM, but this is just aggravating.
>>
>>39852769
I thought that this quest operated slightly differently - we got traits before the lv100 level up and those traits influenced the evolution which is less of a change since the traits come in staggered out and not all at once?
>>
>>39852948
we get 1 trait every 25 levels those traits determine our evolution once we hit 100.

2 traits means we went from level 56 to level 100 and are about to evo again.
>>
>>39852632
it was a bit short.
>>
Maybe we just genocided all the boars or something
>>
>>39853031
>tfw the village is now going to starve/ have to fight off an army of feces chucking shit monkeys en mass
>>
>>39851576
>You have literally never been this snake before in your life

Man, I am soooo snake right now.
>>
>>39852758
>It's just a bit out of place because Katie didn't hate her human mother, as far as we know.
This.

>The over the top metaphors need a bit of work

I dunno, maybe a bit but I think these two were a good start:

>This is another reminder that, like comedians, you have exactly one way you contribute to society.

>She has dark brown hair, but slightly lighter than your own. It looks like Hillary’s hair, actually. But you’re guessing that this snake wasn’t married to a baller snake president who dindu nuffin’.
>>
I wish we could get the original Dr. in here, just to see what he thinks about the new Dr.
>>
>>39853288
Don't worry, we're getting more snake everyday. Hell, we've got snakier just right now!
In just a few more months we'll be the snakiest snake that ever snaked it's way into this snaky town or our name is Snakes Snake snake sneknskasnaekanskasnek SNAKEN SKENAKSNKAENSNEK! SNKE N! NSKNE KSNE KSNDN!SNKE!SNKE!
>>
>>39853670

He'll probably read the quest still, but it seem disingenuous to have him hand over the thread and then start backseat QMing.
>>
>>39853745
Good point. But as long as he doesn't go "your plot is shit, let me do it" we should be fine. Only pointers on how to reduce the awkwardness/smooth the integration of metaphors and the like.
>>
>>39852632
I'd suggest relaxing a bit. Decent for a first successful attempt. Don't try to be Doc. Try to get what he's trying to do, then see how you'd do it. Think about things a bit, don't run all the damned time like Doc did (which probably burned him out, unless you can take that, which you will find you may not be able to).

Try to offer a bit more freedom at times, as Katie doesn't plan well. I think you have the idea of what Doc was trying to write, so figure out why it's interesting, and figure out how you'd write it.

Keep working at it, don't sweat things, and think.
>>
>>39853670
That would probably be the worst possible thing you could do. Doc handed it off, so it's no longer his. Everything before is his, but everything from now on is Kap's. Doc's opinion would only matter without a Trip or a Name.
>>
>>39854608
I agree with this anon.
It was okay for him to try and help with yesterday's thread because of the screw up bu things are more or less beginning to smooth out.
>>
>>39853745
>>39854608
Okay, I see your points and concede to them.
>>
Oh! One more thing I forgot to post. It's not related to Snek Quest in the slightest, but it has a monstergirl protagonist and an amazing story:
https://stoneburners.wordpress.com/2013/10/27/start/
>>
>>39855280
Is it completed and if not, how long do you think it'll be until completion? I don't really like reading web serials as they're released.
>>
>>39855337
No, and probably a long time. But it's still really good!
>>
>>39855337
Apparently he takes inspiration from another Web Serial by the name of "Worm".
"Worm" ran from early 2011 to late 2013.
The author of "Worm", Wildbow, updated several times a week.
It is approximately 1.5 Million words long.

The author of "Stone Burners" updates around twice a week/randomly.
They started in late 2013.
If this is anything like it's inspiration then you are in for a loooooong ride.
>>
>>39856503
Then I suggest you put it on an RSS until you get word of the final update THEN start reading it.
>>
>>39852632
I'd say decent work, Kap. I generally agree with other anons: don't try to be Doc, do your thing and it'll probably turn out OK.

One thing though, I want the wacky similes to stay. >>39853409 brought up my two faves from this thread.

As for constructive criticism, I feel your Salvia was perhaps a little quick to get between Bitchmom and Katie. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want Salvia as adoptive Snekmom and eventually Ed as adoptive dad but I liked how Doc made Salvia torn between different maternal instincts: to help the lost monster-baby-snek, or to protect her own family from the lost monster-baby-snek
