The others are gathered around a small television on the outside of the Lookout, their expressions varying from concern to hatred.

Glancing at the screen, you see what has them so riled up.

King Piccolo sits upon a grotesque throne, Piano standing dutifully at his side, looking rather arrogant for a glorified servant. Though you can't say for sure what's happening behind the camera, you're sure that the cameraman is terrified, or possibly dead.

Piccolo stares directly into the camera, his expression one of amusement, anticipation, and hunger. His slimy tongue rolls from his mouth as he licks his lips before speaking.

"Greetings, people of Earth!" he says in a booming voice. "For those of you who don't remember me, I am King Piccolo. As some of you may have noticed, East City is no more. King Furry is dead, as are those who called the wretched place home."

Piano laughs giddily at Piccolo's side as the Demon King spins a globe beside his throne.

"You see, good people, I've returned to plunge this world into a new era of Darkness, as I intended to so long ago," King Piccolo says before stopping the globe with his pointer finger. "And the first step towards that is finishing the unresolved business I have from my previous reign. That is to say, I'm about to follow through with my plans to destroy West City."

"No, damn him!" Goku snaps.

"Bulma still needs time to finish readying the ship," Tien reminds everyone. "If King Piccolo destroys the city now, we'll have no chance of collecting the Black Star Balls."

He raises his right hand, points at the camera, and the television goes to static.

"We have to stop him, at least until Bulma can finish!" Krillin insists.

"We should attack before he reaches West City," you suggest. "And we should do it away from any residential areas. I fought him in the Pendulum Room, and he destroyed the city and miles of land around it with a single blast."

"Then we wait for him to start his journey towards West City," Piccolo decides. "Hopefully, we'll catch him off guard, and I can hit him with the Evil Containment Wave."

"Goku, do you have any advice?" you ask.

"King Piccolo is dangerous," your friend says, displaying his talent for stating the obvious. "He can make more fighters, and has a lot of powerful attacks. I don't think any of us are strong enough to fight him right now."

"Then how do I get strong enough?" you ask.

"Well, I got stronger by drinking the Ultra Divine Water," Goku tells you. "I'm not sure how much help it would be, though."

"This jar will take you to the maze," Korin explains, removing the lid. "From there, you're on your own. Find the water, then come back to where I let you in. I'll pull you back up."

You approach the jar and look down, seeing a bright blue surface within. It feels incredibly cold, and you decide that you probably don't want to get stranded in that maze.

"Well, here go nothing," you say, hopping into the jar.

You find yourself in a large, icy structure, with a single exit directly in front of you. Stepping out into the light, you get a good look at the maze. Icy paths sprawl out as far as you can see, going off in countless directions, some even going up higher or down lower.

You try to lift into the air and get a better look, but find that, for whatever reason, you can't keep yourself in the air. You can manage a reasonable jump, but fall once you hit a certain altitude, and are unable to maintain flight regardless of how close you stay to the ground.

It's been a while since you were forced to move around purely on foot, but, you were always a fast runner as a little kid, it shouldn't be anything that you can't handle. So, you rush forward, winding through various paths of the maze, noticing that you can't sense your friends anymore, or Piccolo, or anyone.

Still, you write it off as another symptom of the maze, and push forward until you come to a crossroads. One path goes up towards the sun, while the other descends into darkness.

You decide to follow the path that descends into darkness

The path heads down a very long way, though there is constantly just enough light for you to see a few feet ahead of yourself. The path gets steeper as you move on, and you feel as if you're being watched.

Footsteps ahead seem to confirm that you aren't alone.

Stopping in your tracks, you go completely still and stare off ahead as the footsteps draw closer, and closer, and closer, until, finally, someone steps into your field of vision.

Nappa smirks as he looks down at you. His armor is damaged, but he looks unharmed. You can't sense his energy, but you're confident you aren't just seeing things.

"Hey, kid," he greets, chuckling. "The old cat sent you down here too, huh?"

You go on the defensive as Nappa charges forward, parrying his first punch and raising your knee to block the kick he follows with.

Sliding back, you leap into the air as he rushes again, landing behind him and catching his ankle as he kicks backwards. Spinning, you throw him up the path, only to see him land on his feet and open his mouth wide, firing an energy wave down at you that you struggle to block.

You slide further into the darkness as Nappa's attack pushes you back, and you find it growing harder and harder to hold off the attack with each second.

Yelling with exertion, you redirect the attack up at the ceiling, causing rock to come tumbling down, blocking off the way you came from. You expect Nappa to come crashing through the rock and attack, but that simply doesn't happen.

Strangely, despite the rocks blocking the path back to daylight, the path doesn't become any darker. And your eyes, now used to working with the current scarce amount of light, allow you to see much better than you could a few short moments ago.

So, when the attack comes, you see it coming.

A thin beam of energy shoots from the darkness, heading right for your heart.

You swat it aside, and three more follow. When you swat those out of the way, even more follow them.

"Hmm, your reflexes haven't diminished," a very familiar voice comments from just out of few. "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, though I must say, your current haunt is significantly different from what I'd expect."

The voice chuckles, and its owner steps into the light.

Frieza stands before you, looking much more healthy than you last remember him. His body is intact, rather than a pile of ashes, and he doesn't even have the cybernetic enhancements from your last battle with him.

"That being said, scurrying around beneath the surface of the world like a vermin suits you."

Frieza raises his right hand, and an energy disk floats above it. Frieza throws the disk, and you break into a sprint, leaping over it and running towards Frieza.

You throw a punch that he parries before spinning and smacking you upside the head with his tail. Rolling back, you duck beneath the disk as it comes back around. It soars right over your head and heads straight for Frieza.

Another beam shoots from the darkness, and Frieza's disk dissipates.

Cooler steps into view, giving his brother a condescending smirk.

"Really, Frieza, you are just pathetic. No wonder father always babied you, you're the walking embodiment of helplessness."

He chuckles as Frieza glares in his direction. "In any case, it's so good to see you again, Kaguya."

You swat it aside, being pushed further down the path. The smirking brothers follow you, chuckling to themselves as they raise their hands and point at you.

"You can't hide from us here," Cooler gloats, firing a beam you avoid by leaning your head to the side.

"In the Darkness, we will always find you," Frieza adds, firing a beam you sidestep.

"In the Darkness, you will be consumed," Cooler gloats, firing an energy wave that pushes you further into the darkness.

It's stronger than his previous attack.

The brothers laugh as they take aim once again.
