He rips the device from his ear and throws it out the window. You feel your nearby fly fall back to the ground after crawling up on a nearby lamp post.

Dillon looks over to Lyle. "Whoever's set this thing up, they have a lot of sway. Even my home office wants to bury it before it can go public." He says as Lee watches.

"That's because it's got at least Secretary Windsor in on the scheme. Probably some of the members of the Security Council too, just to keep the internal investigators away." Lee says as he bites the cricket bar and promptly gags.

"And how would you know that? Did you overhear conversations?" Dillon asks. Lee shakes his head.

It is easily comparable to your battleship hull in size, and it is covered in a dense armor plating, and covered in weapon systems of all kinds. As it accelerates, its warp ring folds together and retracts beneath the thick armor, giving it a more streamlined profile. Its front lacks the disk shape of Union ships, instead it holds what appears to be a solid plate of metal armor, riddled with gun ports that likely mark its many, many spinal mounts. It broadcasts out a signal in Esperanto, odd, given that its name is written across its hull in English.

"This is the Commonwealth dreadnought IFS Thunderchild, any present Union forces report your position under international treaty clause six."

It waits several minuets before repeating the broadcast, then after an hour of acceleration it responds again.

"Failure to respond indicates Union diplomatic presence has yet to arrive. Any present military vessels are now considered hostile due to failure to identify. Any civilian vessels are to vacate the system and will be dealt with by summary destruction."

As your ship approaches you get a better view of the tiny station itself. It is dwarfed by even your patrol corvette, and is little more then an office building adrift in space. Fuel tanks and solar panels all of archaic design indicate it is an old structure, likely as old as the war between the two nations. As your corvette searches for a usable docking method you receive a signal from the station via laser.

"So you are interested in the negotiations as well? Excellent, the security cameras are all at very poor angles."

The docking collar extends and the outer airlock opens. Your drones leap into space, diving into the station as your corvette cloaks and retreats back to the edges of the system. Your pod remains within range of the drones, and the local Theseus version speaks over an intercom in the main office near the airlock.

"I arrived here last week with the maintenance crew. They take all kinds of precautions for the meeting, but they distrust each other so much they are forced to outsource maintenance of the station to a third party. It's one of the few government events I have been able to infiltrate. Due to a string of unforeseen networking failures on the part of the usual security company, a new one was hired at the last minuet. Quite fortunate, I am usually unable to access this station."

Your flies scatter into the dark and musty station. Empty offices and dorm rooms indicate the station is livable, although without gravity any humans would have problems with a long term stay. Your flies quickly bug the many offices and hallways, placing themselves in air vents and light fixtures.

Back on Gemini, you watch as Lyle and the others continue to discuss their options.

The man in the store is a chubby looking florist waving a weighted electric fly swatter around his head. You recognize him as the man who chased your fly away with a can of toxins, which the hive has since become immune to since the exposure. He is yelling to an exhausted looking man with a spray wand hooked to a tank on his back. He sighs loudly.

"Look, I've been real busy lately. Lots of people around here keep talking about the big wasps, and who knows, maybe it's an invasive species, but if you don't see a nest, I can't help you. I can spray around and give the place the usual, but I can't do anything about 'mutant bees.'"

Your hybrids move up to the van, and your tech expert tears open a panel beneath the steering wheel and in moments the engine starts. The human in the store looks over as the van pulls out into the street and speeds away, and he sprints after it, his shouts of protest vanishing in the distance. He comes to a stop under a lamp post, leaning on it to catch his breath as he curses to himself. He turns to see your fly sitting on the top of a trash can, looking back at him with a blank stare.

He says as he pulls out a knife. "Now like I said, if you get queasy over these kinds of things, you may want to look away."

Yune's life spreads out before you, and you see him living in the shadow of the old atmo-processor, rebuilt into an arcology in the heart of the city. There were dozens of them across the planet. You watch as he joins the PDF, and is eventually recruited into the Bureau. The first labs are within the arcology of the city, deep in the endless maze of hallways. The first experiments are on animals, but they prove largely useless. The council threatens to pull funding, and Yune steps forward as a volunteer. The process is long, and painful, months of blurred memories and whispering voices, but soon they realize that the Ceph hold a similar capacity, and the lab's focus is redirected. Between budget cuts and project setbacks, the labs are consolidated into a single building and moved to the capital. The heavy population of Ceph refugees makes some things easier, but no matter what they discover, he always feels like he's hardly scratching the surface. He needs to discover more, or the Union itself could be in danger.

Lyle takes out several of the remaining explosives and sets them along the inside of the van, then leaves with the others to the security checkpoint. As the elevator doors close, Michael wakes up, slowly, and crawls his way from the back of the van as he slowly returns to lucidity.

Lee looks nervously about the check point, although it isn't much to look at. A single gate with the same board looking man behind the ballistic glass booth. Lyle passes his false ID atop a hearty sum of credits. The man looks at the ID, then up at Lyle, eyeing the group behind him, then he wordlessly looks at the credit chip, and the number displayed across it. His eyes grow wide for a moment, and he clears his throat.

"Please visit us again soon, Mr. Forester." He stifles a laugh as he pockets the chip. The rest of them walk through the gate unquestioned as the man avoids eye contact.

The Angel slowly lifts from its docking clamps, and takes to the sky. As it ascends there is a distant rumbling as the van far bellow detonates into a ball of plasma, incinerating anything, and anyone within. Just outside you see a number of police vehicles moving up and around the building as smoke begins to seep up from the parking garage.

The angel makes its way into orbit before the local traffic tower can be alerted to the events unfolding bellow, and it quickly exists Gemini space. The ship continues to accelerate to the edge of the system before vanishing in a blink of radiation.
