You would have to draw upon your spec ops training and infiltrate the hospital. It was the only way to know for sure.

Obtaining a jeep wasn't difficult, considering you were a witch. You drive over to the hospital at full speed, making sure not to hit other vehicles or personnel on foot due to your mind being clouded by rampant anxiety. Finally, you pull into the parking lot and look at the hospital. You've been here a few times, and you knew that since it was wartime, visits were highly restricted, requiring visitors to ID themselves and sign in. Indeed, you could see a pair of MPs flanking the door, carefully eying everybody coming in. However, you were taught that every facility's security had holes in it. You look more carefully and you notice that they generally don't bat an eye at hospital personnel, who seemed to be able to freely walk in with minimal harassment.

In addition, you see a ladder leading to the roof, the security cage barring access to it seemed to be unlocked. It was a big security oversight, which you made a mental note to report later. But you might be able to use it...

Finally, reach where you believe Euclid's room is. You peek through the ventilation grate and see that Euclid indeed was right below you, dozing off in bed. Perfect. Now all you had to do was sit and wait-

And then your thought process was interrupted by a creaking and groaning sound as the vent began to vibrate and rumble.

That's right, you heard something about that, from the other witches on base. Something about Frank Bishop marrying his entire squadron at once. It was all rumors, though, but it sounded perfectly possible from the stories you heard.

You shoot a glare at her, but she just shrugs.

"Aw, don't be such a stick in the mud, if that's how you Americans say it!" Euclid gets up out of her bed and wraps her arms around Rex's other arm.

However, you can't hold it in any more and you burst out laughing, causing Euclid to start laughing too.

"Ah, you completely fell for it!" You giggle.

"I've never seen you so nervous! Even on the battlefield!" Euclid snickers.

"That wasn't funny." Rex frowns.

"It kind of was!" You laugh.

Rex just shakes his head and sighs.

"Well, I can see that you're doing well, Euclid, if you can walk around on your own like that."

"Oh, yes. I'll probably be discharged later today." Euclid puffs up with pride. "So after a couple days of lying in bed doing nothing, I can continue my duties sitting around doing nothing!"

"Yeah, it's been rather quiet." Rex nods. "Anyways, that's good to hear."

"I don't see why not." Rex nods. "All right, we'll have to get passes to get off base. Guess we'll head to the barracks and see if the Captain or Janice are there."

You and Rex both return to the jeep, where you both quietly drive to the barracks and head up to the office. However, sitting at the desk is Janice, apparently taking care of the paperwork.

You have to admit. You've always been a little jealous of Janice. She was rich, beautiful, and loved by practically everybody. Not to mention a set of breasts you highly suspect that her parents made ritual sacrifices to give to her. Thankfully, hadn't set her eyes on Rex, which was a small blessing in itself.

"Ah! Rex, Ghost!" Janice smiles when she sees the both of you enter. "What brings you both here?"

"We were wondering if you could give us a couple of day passes." Rex speaks first, quick and to the point as always.

"Ah, that shouldn't be a problem!" Janice smiles. "Though I do need to know the purpose of the trip. Could it possibly be a date, perhaps?"

Janice then quickly signs off on two day passes and hands them to you.

"Have fun~!" Janice bids you farewell as you leave.

It's simple enough to sign out a humvee. Honestly, you would've liked something a bit more discreet, but since this was a military base, your transportation choices were rather limited. You just had to make do. You sit in the passenger seat while Rex drives.

"Hmph. Need to remember I need to drive on the left here." Rex grumbles as you pass the front gate.

"Yeah..." You nod. "So um, did you hear anything else from Frank or... or your family?"

You knew that while Rex still kept in contact with his siblings, he did not leave his parents on the best of terms, and as far as you knew, neither have them had spoken to each other, either directly or by writing, since he had joined the Air Force. It was rather sad, really, and you hoped that Rex would eventually reconcile with them.
